I wanted to give a shout out to James Slocum with Slocum heating and air.I was trying to upgrade my parent’s thermostat when we found out that they had a bigger issue than we thought. After working on it for hours I made a phone call to James Slocum and asked him if he could help me get it going again. Of course it was a Friday night and 5pm with a freeze on its way. James took the time to help me over FaceTime instead of driving out and charging them an after hours service call fee. He spent 45 min on the phone with me trying to get it all working again and we were able to get their heat back in in time for the cold weather.I have known James for some time now and he has always been an amazing person. Slocum Heating & Air was AMAZING! I called at 8:30am on a Wednesday, and Jamie was at my door at 9:30am. We ended up having to replace the entire AC unit. Jamie and Bobby were back at our house by 12:30pm with a brand new unit (and slab, since our other one was cracked) and had the job completed by 2:30pm. They were extremely thorough and professional. Jamie didnt accept payment that day, but just wanted to make sure that we had cool air. We were not invoiced until the following Monday as to make sure that everything was working to our satisfaction! WOW!! We will use them over and over again...and you should too! ;-)

Well it’s summer again in Texas and anyone who has been here long enough knows you’re eventually going to struggle with your A/C system. Slocum was the original installer of this unit so I figured they would have the knowledge needed for repair. The service tech they sent out was Austin he went through the entire inside and outside units, and was able to diagnose the problem. Instead of just throwing parts at it like I have had done in the past he spent the time necessary to diagnose the issue. On top of all that found a water leak in my attic that I had no idea about. He notified me and showed me pictures and I was able to repair the small leak possibly saving me from an insurance claim and thousands of dollars in repair! So when it comes to Slocum and their employees I can’t say enough and will be using them for the forceable future.

We moved to Texas in 2015, and bought a house that had three AC units, one for upstairs and two for down. They all worked okay until about the second year and we started having problems with the upstairs unit which was the oldest of all the units. So, we like so many people coming to the area was using the big-name company in town. We became discouraged with them because every time we called to have a unit serviced there was an issue requiring a specialty part which they just happened to have with them. After a while we got tired of spending a lot of money on the “little” repairs, which ultimately led to the unit being replaced.Shortly after that some friends of ours had mentioned Slocum, so we gave them a try and were pleasantly surprised by the service we received, and the honesty and integrity in which their employees had. We thought this is great we finally have a company we can trust and believe in.After a few years, the warranty expired, and we began having problems with the new unit. Parts kept going out and repair cost started adding up. James Slocum’s son, Jamie, was over and we discussed getting a new unit, but we were concerned about the price. Jamie said they would see what they could do about taking the money we recently spent on the unit and try to find a way to take it off a new unit.When James called to give us the cost of a new unit, we were not prepared to hear that they have appreciated and valued our business over the years, didn’t want to lose us as a customer, and decided to give us the new AC unit. What a blessing, they were going to replace it for free.We are so happy with Slocum; we have been recommending them to all our friends. So, if you are thinking about using somebody in town with a big fleet of vehicles painted red, white and blue forget about it. Use Slocum. They are more honest, and they care about what they do, and they care about you, their customer.

Very pleased. The day before the appointment, I turned on the AC for the first time this season not realizing there was a problem. Austin found and corrected a drainage problem mistake on the AC unit that a technician from another company made last fall causing water to back up and drain inside and around the flooring of the unit that could have caused a lot of water damage. Austin corrected the drainage pipe problem, removed the blower housing where some of the water collected, removed the water and reinstalled.Very appreciative of a job well done.Mary Barker

I used Slocum Heating & Air for 8+ years at my house in North Star Crossing subdivision off of FM 920. I have them come to the house twice a year to service both of my units. I contacted Slocum AC around 9 in the morning to check my AC after I had heard the outside unit making a vibrating sound and they sent a technician the same day just a few hours later. Their technician Craig immediately identified the problem and fixed it within 15 minutes as well as doing an inspection of the rest of the AC system. Craig was extremely friendly, easy to talk to and knew what he was doing. Ill definitely be calling Slocum when I need ac or heating work.

Austin and his partner did a great job and saved me from a potential electrical fire in my attic. We called Slocum to check our A/C unit before the summer heat. They scheduled an appointment right away. Austin texted us before he arrived at our home. He was very pleasant and explained everything he was checking. He did a great job getting our A/C ready for another Texas summer. Thank God for second opinions! After getting a diagnosis that required a complete system replacement I called Slocum Heating & Air out for a second opinion and Im so glad I did. Austin was straight up truthful with me by saying that I have an old system but a new fan motor should fix it and if it doesnt then they will credit that $$$ back to me if a new system is really needed. I can not say enough nice things about Slocum. I will start with the initial call that I made at 4:30 in which they answered and had someone out by 5:00! That is unheard of. That someone was named Craig.He was fabulous, genuine and so friendly as well as professional. He stayed late to make sure all was good. The BEST and I mean the BEST service I have ever had. They were very punctual and kind took care of my issue within 20 mins. I tried to use lightfoot services but after I was told 7,000 dollars is what I would have to pay . I called Slocum and they were out diagnosed the problem and 20 mins and 140 dollars later I had the coldest air flowing throw my house. Now that is what I call fantastic work. Received a new LG mini split unit. Installed quickly, exactly where it would function best. Located in new enclosed patio. Learned the functions of the remote quickly. The Slocum team worked as a team at different installations requirement. Drop cloths kept floor clean when they cleaned up at completion. Very happy for my first two weeks using the unit. I am very impressed with James and his team. Our A/C quit running so I contacted Slocum Heating and Air Conditioning and James was at my house by 7:20 am on a Saturday morning. After inspecting the condensing unit he determined that it was beyond repair, no longer in production, and the entire system would need to be replaced…including the air handler in the attic. I carry an insurance plan for Equipment Breakdown protection, which requires an insurance adjuster to assess any situation before I can proceed with any repairs or service. The adjuster came to the exact same conclusion and James worked with him to help get my A/C system up and running as quickly as possible. The equipment was ordered and arrived in just 2 days. James, along with 4 other men, arrived at 8:30 am on the day of install and dissembled the old air handler and installed the new one in a matter of hours. Impressive enough in itself but even more so because the unit was in the attic above the second floor of the house and only accessible though a tiny attic ladder opening. Who builds things like that?! They also placed a brand new concrete pad on the ground before installing the outside condensing unit… and did all of THAT work, under an umbrella, in the rain, standing in mud! Unbelievable. They worked hard, very carefully, and never made a mess of anything and did it all in good spirits. James, you can count on my business for as long as I own a home. Thank you.

They decided that $1000 labor for an hours work was good to charge. Unit still doesnt work quite right. Have waited patiently over a week for repair guy to come back, have made 4 calls, only to be told today that they wont be coming back. They wont make their failed repair right. Beware.😡

Removed bad unit including attic portion and outside unit. Replaced with new complete heat pump system in 8 hours. This was done while raining outside most of the day. Tarps were put down inside the house and job completed with no remnants of mud or wet carpets. Very professional and courteous. Was leaving town the next day and they waited for me to get back in town to make sure unit was working properly and that I was satisfied with the product and service before billing me for job. I highly recommend Slocum for any needs you have concerning you heating and air conditioning problems. This is a family operation locally owned and they give you that feeling of trust in the product and service they give.

I genuinely dont appreciate the aggressive, unprofessional driving Ive seen from this company. Yesterday afternoon (6.13.22) was not the first negative encounter Ive experienced with their company drivers. I doubt it will be my last considering their reputation. Craig Zapata worked on our ac. It was froze up and needed freon. He faced th hot humid weather to go in our attic and check it. We have used Slocum for at the least 15 years will never use anyone else they are the best.

Contacted after hours to report my ac being down and they called me back first thing the following morning. There was no hesitation in getting me on the schedule. Communication was above and beyond. Received a call at lunch time that a tech was on the way to my house and my wife let me know the a/c was back up and running before I finished eating. Look no further for a HVAC Company. These guys have your back. Slocum Heating and Air saved me from a nightmare system that was improperly installed, wired wrong, parts left out and off from original installation company years ago. I have a 3 Zone System with a heat pump. James, Jamie and his team diagnosed my issues, educated me on problems, gave me choices, developed a plan, executed it and resolved my issues swiftly to completion. Jamie, with their very professional and knowledgable secretary continue to follow my situation confirming everything continues working properly. My electric bill dropped more than half the following month. They are honest, straight forward and polite. They answered my numerous questions with upmost respect, and gave full disclosure. These are the guys to hire.

So let’s start off with the owner. James I think his name was, the dude is an absolute tyrant. I’m amazed he has any employees at all. He’s rude and disrespectful not to mention I noticed he and his secretary are a tad too “close” for a “professional” setting since he’s so about professionalism. Next I came into contact with some named Isaiah and all I heard was him talking ill about his job and boss and coworkers which also was unprofessional If I could give 0 stars I would.

One of the best service companies I have ever worked with! As I have moved around over the last few years, I have used a number of different HVAC and other service companies with a wide range in overall experience but nobody compares to Slocum.They answered my call immediately, the woman who answered was extremely nice and friendly. They were at the house to look at the heater within a couple hours. Figured out what the issue was and told my wife what was going on and how much it would cost to fix it before doing anything. I can almost guarantee nobody can beat their prices as it was extremely reasonable for the amount of work involved. He left to get the part and had it fixed an hour or so later.Super professional from start to finish. Extremely fair pricing especially for the quality and timeliness of the work. I would recommend them to anybody. If you need HVAC work these are your guys.

We are new to the area. Our AC was broken and originally we were told it was beyond repair and our entire unit needed to be replaced. An electrical storm knocked out my AC. I called to make an appointment based off a co-workers recommendation and they arrived promptly. Even arrived before the electrician whom I had already schedule the day before.These guys are committed. Having no AC in Texas is unbearable and they were not going to let me sleep another hot summer night without air. Even though complication after complication kept arising, Slocum always had an answer. They got me set up with air while a replacement part arrive and the quickly came back to finish the job. Unbelievably POOR customer respect and culture. Drivers endangered the public and intentionally tried to run me and my wife off the road several times. (No... I did not do anything to deserve the aggressive action!) When complained to their office (10:30 am), I received an answering machine. I left a message of complaint and they never returned my call. This aggressive driving has ruined their marketing ... for many years to come... I will definitely remember Slocum! And I will be telling as many people as I can about this dangerous company!
