Dalton (Taylor) McIntyre provided an excellent winter inspection of my furnace. His transparency, honesty and excellent customer service was paramount. From my experience if any company that isn’t upfront, transparent and honest shouldn’t be hire for any job. But Dalton (Taylor) McIntyre has these rare qualities and he will be the only technician authorized back to my home and rental properties moving forward. Any company that can’t provide an itemized account (aka Banister) or a company which only goal is to up sale you on a new unit regardless (C. Woods) isn’t the company that has your best interest. Lex formerly Dorian Mechanical is the only company I trust wholeheartedly and recommend.

I wanted a second opinion because I was quoted a large amount from a different company. He came in & explained everything to me. He made sure I knew how it all worked & what he was doing. The issue ended up being a spark plug… I immediately cancelled my contract with the other company & went with them. He was professional, he showed integrity & he was a great teacher. My daughter & I now have heat for these cold temperatures. Thank you so much! I am a customer for life!

Edited a week later … After reading some negative comments, we decided to get a second opinion about our unit. So glad we did. It turns out we needed to replace 1 part and were only charged for labor! We went from a price of $5000 (not including labor, most likely) to paying $400 for labor only since the unit IS covered by a manufacturer warranty. Wow the second opinion was so worth the time!Save yourself some money and check out Evans Air Conditioning, The Original. They are the real deal.By the way, I never even heard back from Lex ETX regarding moving forward with the plan to replace the indoor unit.——We were a customer of Doran Mechanical. Lex ETX is a huge improvement already! Thank you for your courteous and straightforward service. Our 5 year old unit will unfortunately need to be replaced but we feel great about having this company to help us.

Jonathan was great! He was professional and personable. Such an improvement over the two previous technician call outs the preceeding years. We have decided to restart our annual contract as Jonathan has stated that it is all about proper training and communication and we should receive the professional caliber that we expect.

John Sinnet came.out and introduced himself when he arrived. He did give me a courtesy call saying he would be here in 15 minutes prior to arriving. Very knowledable of our heating system. ONE STAR REVIEW!(My star rating has been changed twice now. Please note only ONE STAR was given)Ever since they sold the company and it is being run by someone else——it is horrid.Even being on their “customer plan” they charged me $262.50 for coming out and simply reprogramming the wall unit. It had gotten out of wack after the electricity went out.I paid $262.50 for a secret code and for him to push some buttons.I cannot even imagine what they would have charged me had I actually needed work done. And again, I pay their yearly fee (I think it’s $400 a year or something close to that. I would have to look it up.)At this point we are just waiting for that “plan” aka- scheme, to run out so we can switch providers.After he hit me with the $262 for pushing buttons he then tried to sell me more equipment ranging from $800-$1200.This company is clearly no longer a service company but is instead a sales company.AVOID them at ALL COSTS.Anyone else would be better at this point.

I was absolutely pleased with the service I received this morning on a weekend Saturday. Mark, the technician was absolutely friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. He gave me absolutely thorough explanations of everything that he found and suggestions on what to do in the future, if it happens again.

I just called them out to change a thermostat. They wanted to charge $860 to change a $200 thermostat. They said they could give me a 10% discount and claimed that was $801. That math doesnt math. The technician was super nice but said he couldnt get hold of his manager to get authorization for a discount. He left with no repair. At some point we have to take some of the greed out of the trades. They are a great way to make an honest living but $660 in labor to plug in a thermostat is ridiculous. The The follow-up sales pitch was that they were going to check everything which is fair enough but still. $660. At some point we have to have more character and stop being greedy. I told the guy I was willing to pay $600 for the job total. $200 for the thermostat that I can buy at home Depot for less than $200 and $400 in labor. He said no.

The service was good but I waa disappointed to see that you’re using flat rate pricing. I was told my capacitor was reading high and to replace it would be $315. I work on swimming pools and the heat pumps on swimming pools. I’ve tested and replaced many capacitors on swimming pool heat pumps and pump motors. Number 1, I’ve never had one fail high and 2, that capacitor wholesale sale price is approximately $20. I’m all about making a profit and I know you’re in business to make a living but $315 to replace a capacitor is just wrong.

They were very nice on time and very flexible with my schedule. We loved using this company, and we 100% recommend them.

Zero accountability, very poor customer service. I would stay away from these guysNew air conditioning and service contract. Service guys left ducting plemen unsealed and leaking air.The local managers dodged accountability and wouldn’t come reseal it.There are too many quality service people out there to have to deal with poor service.

I really enjoyed the team. This was a warranty call for me and I still got good service to schedule the appointment. The waiting on the parts was annoying with a hot house, but the techs were courteous and knew what they were doing.

Fast friendly Good service. I called them this Sunday even as busy as everyone is from the storms they came within 2 hours of my request for service. I will use them again, I also recommend them. Thanks again and God bless.

Saturday AC stopped blowing in September at 90 degrees outside. I remembered great reviews on a local FB page so I called. They called me back in 10 min and were here in another 10 minutes. Checked it out and replaced the interior capacitor. Best case scenario all the way around. Service techs were professional and efficient. Thank you Doran Mechanical for taking care of my AC so quickly on a hot summer day!

Its good to see all the satisfied customers comments, because right now My family and I have been waiting on a part for about a month or two.. I was confirmed by them it could take six to eight weeks on the part, but what I dont understand is why a Company like Doran would have to wait so long on parts? Or why would they order parts from a company who doesnt give them any tracking number or time of arrival for parts? Our house is still keeping cool for the most part, but every day it gets a little rough from the Air not kicking on at times.....

Honest and friendly assessment of our problem, quick repair, no pressure for purchase of unnecessary equipment (We experienced a pressure “come on” from a previous company.) Happily signed an annual service agreement.

Wanted to like them, would have bought a whole new evaporator unit and a 3 ton condenser from them, plus install. The first time they came out, promptly the next day ( they will not give you a time frame window, so have the full day free). Tech comes out and charges the unit. An hour later all Freon has discharged. No big deal, I knew the system was 16 years old and I had a leak I was more worried about getting them to come back out verifying it so we could begin process to purchase a full hvac system asap. Was called and informed they were coming that morning. Then at 3 pm I get a text saying your tomorrow apnt is confirmed. They told me the wrong day!! Again, no time window so you are sitting in the heat and trying to keep your iPad from overheating to answer their calls. They Apologized and Said they would come the next day so I have my mom call to make sure when 3 pm the next day hits again. Now they tell her we won’t be covered by a warranty because I put a hard start on my condenser unit myself, so mom canceled apnt. If we are going to spend over 10k the point was to have the new units covered by a warranty. So now I’m confused, what warranty they just recharged and I wouldn’t ask them to pay for the leaked out Freon, lol. I guess they thought I just wanted an evap unit, but if it was leaking our plan was to replace the full system, making the hard start obsolete. I called as soon as I found out my mom cancelled within the hour to try to sort it out. Now It was “too late” to reinstate my apnt and get this, couldn’t come back out until Thursday of next week!! Then I would be waiting for them to order my units I’m sure wouldn’t be in stock so another few days. Thankfully I don’t work and only lost out on my planned vacation and had the dogs stay at my moms while I stay with the parrots, who can tolerate heat. Got someone from a competitor within the hour, on a Friday night after hours! Will be purchasing a whole new system from them, thankful my mom cancelled that appointment, I wanted to give them a chance. Dodged a bullet there!

Waited for a part for a month that was told would be here in 10-15 days. Part was under warranty and still spent $1972 in labor for a unit that was manufactured in 2019. Steven said they have no control over that, yet they sold those units and no longer carry them. The techs were nice and pleasant but I would not recommend them. There are other companies that value their customers more.

Our expierence with Doran Mechanical has been Excellent! Very timely response to our a/c problem. Good communications from our tech, Collin, who called with time of arrival and actually showed up. This company values your time! An assessment of the problem with our a/c was made quickly and the repairs were done in a timely fashion with attention to detail. Very professional and courteous. The repair was done in 90+ degree heat. We were so thankful! We wish more service companies could be like Doran.Also they suggested installing a surge protector to provide protection from electrical storms, and power company brown outs! Doren Mechanical has been excellent!! We had so many unnecessary problems due to the company/manufacturing problems on a brand new AC unit (basically a lemon) that they have fixed every time. They take care of their customers! Our technician, Seth, has been wonderful. Professional, and knowledgeable. We will continue to use this company.

Ive never left negative feedback for a contractor but their service earned it. Terrible customer service after we bought a new unit and an extended warranty. Techs installed a faulty drain pan that caused water damage to my ceiling. I was told by one manager they would be there the next day to replace the pan and repair my ceiling. The next day I got a call from another service manager that turned a mole hill into a mountain. Shortly after their investigation the unit quit working and they would not return calls. In addition to the water damage, I ended up paying another company to do work that should have been covered under the warranty I had purchased from Doran to get our still new air conditioner working properly. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

We had air and had nearly died from heat! Technician was efficient and found problem and repaired quickly! Very expensive but what can you do but pay???

Lex ETX (formerly Doran Mechanical) serviced my HVAC system and changed out my filter (I provided the filter). Tech explained everything looked good & gave me several upgrade options to consider.

I called Doran because my thermostat went out. They came out within 90 minutes! Luis was great, shook my hand and introduced himself. Quickly found the problem, fixed it and explained everything! He was courteous and professional. I have had Doran come out twice now (in the past 2 years) and both times i had the same professional experience with them. Great company and team!thank you!!!

Doran was bought out by Service Star. Called Fri. 6/14/2024. House 1 year 8 mo. old. AC not cooling. “Doran” tech inspected. Found coolant leak in weld of line from compressor to house. Line is steel covered in all weather sheath. Office refuse to honor Doran faulty construction. Called Mon. 6/17/2024, 8:30AM. Service mngr tries to say ‘vibrations’ could have caused leak. Said his superior would call me. Never did. We will never use any Service Star co. They own 8 companies. So sad. Doran was good.

Doran Mechanical Service is outstanding! We have been with them for a year now and have had 100% satisfaction. Both Heath and Randy have come out this year and did very thorough checks for both winter and spring. Randy was attentive to the air flow and how we might want to change it slightly to help the overall function within our home and our humidity levels. Not your average company, I would say above average all around!

I had my AC checked by another AC company but was not satisfied with their service and they didn’t fix the problem. My neighbors recommended Doran mechanical and they did a great job 👍. The company staffs were friendly and very accommodating to our schedule. Mr Ronald Dinkins was the one who checked our AC unit and didn’t give up easily to find out what was wrong with it. He could’ve just gone with the easy fix of putting the freon but he didn’t stop there. He did his best to find the root cause of what was wrong and fixed it. I highly recommend this company

In my opinion they don’t stand behind their work. I was told I had a bad evaporator coil on a 3 year old system. The part was still under warranty, so I get quoted a “free part” but $2,100+ in labor and shipping. I received other quotes similar to that with buying a new coil included.Not to mention at 2 years old we paid thousands to have the condenser unit replaced, they claimed dog urine corroded the new one understandable maybe.Within 3 years of having a brand new system no one should be sinking 5k into a system.We got a second opinion on the “evaporator coil” and it was deemed a $300 TXV valve. System has been working great since that was replaced by a different company.

Ive had nothing but great experiences with Doran Mechanical. I needed some maintenance and repair on the old AC unit in the home I bought a few years ago and Heath did great to get working properly. When it was time to get a completely new unit I reached out and Heath and the installation team made the entire process easy! Would highly recommend for any AC or Heating needs!

We have used Doran Mechanical for the past few years for service and maintenance. The servicemen are on time, very professional and honest. We have an old heating and cooling system and they have done their best to help it last as long as possible. This year our AC condenser needed to be replaced. They gave us a discount on a brand new one because we were a current customer. I would highly recommend them.

My AC unit went down on a Saturday night. I called my home warranty company and they could not dispatch a contractor until Monday morning. I called several AC repair services in the area and got either no answer or they couldn’t get a technician out that late. They lady that answered the phone for Doran Mechanical said she would page a technician. I received a call back in like 15 minutes. The tech that called me had just gotten in from a call and was eating dinner, but he could head to my house in 30 minutes. I think he arrived at my house 45 minutes after we talked. He quickly figured out what was wrong and got my unit running with an emergency part until they could get the correct manufacturer’s part in to fix it. He was so polite and so professional! I’m now a proud customer of Doran Mechanical and I’m buy a service plan from Doran! I strongly recommend you give Doran Mechanical if you need help with your AC!

These folks are great. I have used them for many years now, and they have always treated me well and addressed my issues. My most recent service was for no cooling. Heath came out, actually ahead of schedule and replaced a contactor on my heat pump. He looked up and found the equipment was still in warranty so I didnt have to pay for the part. That was a big help. I would recommend Doran Mechanical to anyone needing to repair, maintain, or replace their equipment.

Just had my first annual service from Doran Mechanical after having a great experience with Doran Mechanical during a Labor Day weekend outage they responded too. I was a loyal customer of a local competitor but Doran Mechanical service is simply above and beyond the call. I gave them a call and they had a technician out to my house in less than an hour. Ronald showed up and was extremely nice, super laid back and very knowledgeable. He had the part replaced in my AC and had it running in 30 minutes. Great guy, great service I highly recommend.

Weve had a service contract with them for several years. The technicians are always polite, friendly and considerate of your home. Had to call them out last night because the heater stopped working properly. We got a prompt call the technician and he was at our home shortly thereafter. He fixed the problem quickly and we slept in a warm house. Would highly recommend them.

If I could leave a ZERO star for this company I certainly would. This is a joke of a company and I plead to all home building contractors not to use this company. I know it’s all about the money but they are the lowest bid for a reason. The equipment is not at all higher quality. You get what you pay for! My air conditioner was installed less than 3 years ago in a new home and has been out for over a week. They tell me that because it’s under warranty that this particular TXV valve was not in stock through their particular distributor. However, when I called HVAC Champion Distributor/Contractor out of Dallas that represents this particular champion AC, as well as, this certain warranty valve they had 3 TXV valves on the shelf. Also, stating that this particular valve FOR MY WARRANTY had 400 in distribution. This HVAC contractor stated if he did not live 2 1/2 hours away he would fix tomorrow with warranty intact. However, over a week later Doran Mechanical cannot get this certain valve because of warranty stipulations with a manufacture. But another Champion AC representative would have me fixed the next day warranty intact if it wasn’t for distance. Something is not adding up here. From day one I told them that I would in fact pay out of pocket to have this done if that’s what it took. BUT only after me presenting what I researched about the valve and it’s total of 400 in distribution was I offered to pay out of pocket for repair. Really?! Doran Mechanical is a company that should not even be in business. Contractors, PLEASE if your bid is to good to be true then come on talk your clients FIRST!! You get what you pay for and Champion AC and DORAN MECHANICAL is NOT it. And by the way Doran Mechanical supposedly “records” phone conversations so we even have proof of such poor customer service. Yesterday, I was told that I would be updated “every other day” regarding this situation. What a joke! Thank you C Woods for coming to my rescue, you are an amazing company!!!!!

We have used the services of Doran Mechanical for approximately six years. Our relationship has been through ownership of two homes, one with seven operating units and the other with five. The homes were large, configured with complicated systems using multiple product lines and both homes were architecturally challenging to service. Every routine maintenance service experience or problem that arose was handles with extreme courteousness, professionalism and technical expertise. Every member of the Doran team from the owner, Will Doran, to Ms. Royal who runs the office to our technician Heath Willingham take a personal interest in quality and complete customer satisfaction. My husband and I have been in business for many years, dealt with many service companies and have never experienced one than conducts them selves in such a exemplary manner as Doran Mechanical. Im beyond blessed. Story time, my family lived in a home that did not have central air and heat for 7 yrs, we finally moved into this new home but, unfortunately the lightening surged the power a tad to much and blew our ac motor, my husband, works for red Baron and told me to call doran mechanical because they do business with them often, seeing that Im spoiled with central ac I wanted mine fixed. Seth J came out, and was an absolute real and to the point, friendly and very informative. Although it took some time for our part to come in, I want to commend the receptionist ( Im sorry I forgot your name) for being there to answer my once a week phone call, she was always nice, and never had a rude tone to her voice. We had a little hiccup because my kids and I were sleeping in our living room and I had just had surgery, but this is where I can HIGHLY recommend this company, the owner had the receptionist call us back and explained everything about the delay of our parts and absolutely made all of our week better, they helped us with putting in two window units to accommodate my family and THAT is what making things right for the customer. When I say I was thankful, believe me, we were truly blessed. So Collin B and another gentleman came out and immediately went to work on putting the units in my room and my sons room. They were amazing and super nice. Thank you. A couple days later, the receptionist calls.me and told me the ac parts were in,. I mentioned to her that it was raining super bad and that if weather the weather was to bad then we were ready when they were, sure enough, received a call from Justin E and he hands down is the most nicest guy Ive met. He was educated, and knowledgeable about his work, and was able to carry a conversation and do his job, although it was raining, it didnt put a damper on his work, thank you Justin for being so good. But honestly, thank you doran mechanical for making me and my family happy. For years to come, we will chose you. Thank you again from my family to yours.

They always come as soon as we call with an issue. We have had them out to service our units several times and the techs know what they are doing and fix them right the first time every time. Everyone at Doran Mechancial are very nice and friendly.

Doran is a company you can trust. We moved into our newly constructed house in 2014 & it has foam insulation which requires a specific type of heating/AC unit. The company that originally installed our system put the correct indoor unit (but not with all the correct accessories) but the incorrect outdoor unit. This in turn caused our outdoor unit to work overtime & it only lasted 5 years. I called Doran & they sent Heath out who identified all the issues I mentioned above. He told us what we needed to do to make our AC right. Doran sent John & Steven out on 12/16/19 & they installed a new outside unit & added the needed accessories to the indoor unit. These two guys did a great job. They wore shoe covers inside of our house & put rugs down under their ladders indoors. After installation, Heath came out & went over our new system with us showing us how to operate our new thermostat & inspected all the work they had done. There’s only one company to call for all AC & heating needs - that’s Doran Mechanical.

It’s late on a Saturday afternoon in Flint Texas. The outside temperature has just peaked at 108 degrees. And then you notice your AC is blowing warm air. Technician showed up right on time and diagnosed the issue quickly! He told me exactly what the issue was and that he would be able to fix it that day. He was in and out within an hour. Super friendly and knew his stuff! I will definitely call out again if any other issues arise.

Doran designed/planned the system to be installed in my new construction home in 2017. I imagine I am like most of the general public who is not a qualified HVAC technician and doesn’t really know HVAC and needs a good company and service tech. I couldn’t be more pleased with the two units originally installed in my home, along with the knowledge, professionalism and friendly employees that service my home. I have signed up each year for the maintenance program so they will proactively come out in the spring and fall to change the filters, clean units, check all wiring and any other necessities an unfamiliar person wouldn’t be able to detect. I had one issue with “vapor lock” in one unit, out of the regularly scheduled maintenance, and Doran came out and fixed the issue quickly with no charge and sent the report to my email without me asking. My wife was the only one home, and I didn’t worry because I know the technicians and I am comfortable not being present. I deal with a high number of service companies for my personal home...Doran is the only one I have never had an issue with. I don’t know anyone who is excited about buying or replacing an hvac unit, but if you have to, you now know who to trust.

Had them out to clean the AC ducts that had been sadly neglected for decades. The two guys were the hardest working, most professional ive ever seen. They did an incredibly thorough inspection, followed by the most complete cleaning. They vaccumed up every particle of dust and dirt. Whatever the company is paying them, its not enough. They worked as if it was their own company. They proudly represented Doran, and I would recommend them HIGHLY. Great job!

Mr Edwards and another employee arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, cleared the water line, and checked the outside unit. They told me about the outside unit and a maintenance program. Very professional, explained aspects of the interior unit I didn’t know existed.

Very dependable and always on time or will call if going to be late. We have used them for 3+ years and our son uses them as well. Have been very pleased with service when needed and the semiannual checkups for which we subscribe.

Our AC stopped working right when it started getting hot outside - our tech Jacob came in and diagnosed the problem correctly and another tech Collin Barton did a great job executing the repair - they were able to get our parts in a timely matter to fix the issue couldn’t be happier!
