READ MY ENTIRE REVIEW AND JUDGE FOR YOURSELF.OVERCHARGED FOR DIAGNOSIS $95OVERCHARGED FOR REPAIR QUOTE BY $1600+!I have waited several months to write this review, because I wanted to be sure I was correct.Back in September of last year, 2024, I brought my mothers 2010 VW Jetta in because it had an intermittent ABS light coming on. She was told to bring the car in still running with the light on for diagnosis. She did and left. After two hours when we came back they had no idea why the car was parked out front.We came back later and were told that the car needed an ABS sensor (for $125) and a ABS module (for $1600+) because both were throwing codes. Oh, and that the diagnostic fee was $95. (a sign on the wall says diagnostic fee minimum $45) .When I asked the guy at the counter for an invoice of the charge he acted confused like that was not normal. He said he would just have to go write diagnostic on a receipt. He also did not provide a print out of the computer diagnostic results. So all I had was a charge for $95 on the credit card slip only. When I asked him why it was $95 for the diagnostic, instead of the $45 minimum posted he said thats the minimum and I said so it cost $95 dollars just to plug it into a computer? And he said yes.I dont have a problem with a fee for diagnosis. But plugging a car into a computer is about the least amount of work you can do in a shop. And then to have it increased to $95 arbitrarily without explanation is a shady business practice.I DID EMAIL AND SPEAK TO THE OWNER: He called after I emailed and threatened to leave a bad review. He had refunded the money to my mom already but didnt have a clear explanation for why there was no procedure or explanation for the taking advantage of someone $95 charge other than to tell me that the guy at the desk was not the regular guy and that he had already refunded the money. The owner did not seem to have an explanation for how a diagnosis fee is actually determined in his own shop.And now onto the $1600 ABS module repair estimate:I did some very small amount of googling. In fact I think just one search. To find out if a bad ABS sensor could cause a ABS module to throw a code. The answer? ABSOLUTELY. If an ABS sensor is going bad, the module can get confused and throw a code.If this information is not only simple and obvious, but easily accessible online, WHY WOULDNT THE SHOP SUGGEST THE CHEAPER REPAIR FIRST?I was able to purchase new OEM ABS sensors for $25 each online. Installing them was easier than changing a flat tire.It has been 5 MONTHS since then and there has not been a single light, code or issue.Had it not been for my own involvement, my mother would have been over charged $1600 (maybe much more, cause I think that was just the part, not labor) for a repair that wasnt needed, and only required a small amount of research, caring, and concern to avoid.These men may seem nice and there may be a bunch of framed certificates on the wall, but this shop is taking advantage of Sugar Landers like my sweet mother. Why mechanics seem to think this is appropriate business practice is beyond be.This shop does not have INTEGRITY and thats about the most important thing in the world.Find a different shop. From beginning to end this place is just looking to make some money.

The fuel door on my car was locked so I was unable to put gas in my car. I called and was able to drop my car off immediately and pick it back up just a few hours later! A life saver!

I had Sugar Land Car Care do an oil change for my car and I assumed they could handle it. I then took my car to the airport and left it at the airport until I got back. When I returned I started my car and all the oil started pouring out my car. I had a crying baby and didnt know what to do so I had to get it towed and taken to a local mechanic near the airport. The mechanic told me they used a filter that was too small and was cheap after market filter that he had never seen before. When my husband came in to talk to the manager he was rude and did not seem to care. We will never use Sugar Land Car Center again. What if my engine had exploded? They still wouldnt have cared

I gave 5 stars couple months ago, but now I am editing my review. Because of the slow service. They checked the car fast but after they start working on it; very slow. 🐌 so after they are sure that you will pay the money they dont care about the time. And also they used to have a keurig machine but now they have drip coffee which seems empty for a long time.

Wrote a review and was contacted to resolve the post. The actual work they did was great. I REPEAT,IT WAS GREAT! As with any place of service, inspect your vehicles labor before you leave. Theyre great and I will be back. Thank yall for your work.

Very honest guy, very patient. Very honest work. And a reasonable price. My dads car wouldnt turn on, and we told him to take a look he told us it was something small and took less than 2 days to fix the car.

First time going to this place and i had a wonderful experience. I got an oil change during my lunch break and it was the most painless process i’ve had at a car shop before. Was in and out in under 15 minutes with great customer service. Definitely will be coming back for anything else in the future.

I love this place. I wanted to test out my vehicle before i made this review and i can honestly say, this place is the real deal. Employees were efficient and kind. They tell you exactly what is wrong with your car and gives you a fair price. Most mechanics out there will take the opportunity to con people out of their money at their most vulnerable point but not this establishment and i am forever thankful of that. With that being said, I will be a frequent customer of them from now on. Thank you sugar land car care.

Highly recommend taking your cars here! I usually only trust the dealership to fix my car but with this place, you can expect great service and honest work. The prices are also much more reasonable than other shops.

This place does all my car care. They get the job done and on time. The owners are so nice and very experienced.

ETC.On my today experience, the guy overcharge me and took advantage of meThey do oil change for $30 as they advertise.I bring oil that I want to put in my car so they charge me $30 even though Ibring my oil.And I was discussing with him about why you overcharge me and he was very rude and he gave me my key and my oil back so I end up changing the oil with them but on my way out I told him the business key is the customer serviceAnd his response to me was, don’t come here again, go to other places.

Good prices. Management (Pasha and his brother Sunny) are very friendly. They let you know if maintenance work you are requesting can wait or is unnecessary. They take time to explain work done and future maintenance requirements.I now get both of my vehicles and my sons car checked out and serviced there. I have been very happy with the quality of the diagnostics, the work and the pricing and feel these people are honest and trustworthy.

I was in a rush, and they accommodated me and changed my cars engine oil

I had a very pleasant experience going to this business to get my car diagnosed. The owner and technician really cared about my concerns and took the time to educate me about it. Highly recommend that you bring your vehicle to this shop. Very professional business.

Man, these guys always treat me well. They have always gotten the work done quickly, for a very fair price, and with great customer service. I needed a starter replaced in my Corolla and they got me a refurbished part for less than half what the dealership wanted and the work price was quite affordable. When I needed an oil change and state inspection in a hurry, I was in and out in 20 minutes. Cant recommend these guys enough.

Ive been going to this place for years and they never disappoint me. The owner is super nice, very helpful and the service is always great. All the staff are nice too. I do recommend this place to anyone that want good care for your car and great customer service.

I have been getting my car diagnosed now and then from Sugar land Car Care Center. Honest price and advice. Ample space for cars to get repaired. I am reaching out to those who read reviews before visiting Body Shops. My experience has been impeccable.

Brought it in a couple weeks ago because my service engine light was on. I dropped the car off at 11am, and was told I would get an update soon. got no update. i had to call at 3pm to check on my car, and it still wasnt ready. they still had not even gotten to it. They close at 5, so i went back there at around 4 to pick my car up, and still wasnt ready. Waited til right at 5 when they told me they were missing a part and that it had to be ordered. was told the part would be ordered and to come back first thing in the morning so it could get done quickly. got there in the morning, part hadnt arrived. (I understand this part was not their fault) Later that day (around 1:30pm) my part finally came in, and they were nice enough to replace the supposed needed part and get me a state inspection because thats what I was needing. The car ran fine for the ONE DAY. Now im having more problems than I have ever had before with this car. Very inconvenient and ridiculously priced.

Great group of people, very helpful. They even helped me push my truck from a neighboring business when it wouldn’t start.

I have found the owners and employees to be extremely honest which is a rare find in the auto industry. The shop is clean, the people are great - they have always treated me with respect and take the time to explain things to me. I highly recommend this shop! Also, prices are always great and work is top notch

Great place!! Take both of my vehicles here for inspections every year! Owner and employees are always super friendly and helpful! Ive seen some of the work they have done on other customers cars, even customized engines. They are very knowledgeable!

I came because of the great ratings but gave them 3 stars because they charge for stuff Advanced Auto Parts would do for free. So if you arent sure if you have a problem, have a quick fix like a fuse swap, or even if there is no problem youre going to be charged $45. Its one thing to pay for a service you got. Its another to pay for someone to tell you within 5 minutes nothing is wrong and you have to pay a diagnostic fee

Fair price and good job done.. I had my gasket value changed. Sunny and Pasha both are very polite and professional...Their car expert also checked the overall condition of the Suv.....nice to have a trustworthy place in Sugarland...Do visit and check out, you will get a fair option compared to others ..I will highly recommend for all your car needs..thanks Mr Sunny again..regards

Pasha is a great guy-very friendly. We have taken both of our cars (Toyotas) there for routine maintenance/inspections since he bought the shop. It is very rare to have a long wait (but to be fair, I do take the cars in during the week). We had only one negative experience (and it was NOT Sonnys fault) related to my wifes Prius. The problem was misdiagnosed and we ended up taking it to Toyota. The issue is the increased complexity (electronics) of cars especially hybrid such that a fault error can have multiple causes. So, for complex malfunctions (especially for the Prius) we take the cars to Toyota.

I walked in to ask about the emissions test. The owner met with me, told me he could get me in and out!!! Pasha did just this. This was ONE of the top experiences at a car care clinic. 5 starts all the way.....

I went here today needing my ac fixed and only had one hour during lunch. They fixed it and EVEN BROUGHT ME MY CAR AFTER I WENT BACK TO WORK. Incredible service and incredible people.

I needed help with a seat belt. Other shops told me they could not fix it. Sugar Land Car Care not only fixed it, they did it right away. I was so pleased that I came back when I needed the water pump replaced. They were cheaper than the other places I called and they got it done when I needed it.

Went in for inspection & oil change. I was extremely satisfied & happy with the service I received at Sugar land car care by Sunny. Will definitely be coming back for future services. I highly recommend sugar land car care.

The staff was very helpful with getting my state inspection done, and I didnt have to wait very long.

I was not at all satisfied with the service the other day went in for a inspection and the guy drove my vehicle and came back with out even putting it on the machine to see if it would pass or not and automatically told me that it was not going to pass so I left there went to fire stone in Rosenberg and they hooked it up to the machine it passed and come to find out that the shaking in my steering wheel was due to the tires the guy would have no nice if he would’ve actually took time and looked at my vehicle instead of trying to stand there and argue with me so I give him a negative*
