UPDATE:The supervisor called me personally after my initial review to express his unappreciation of my post. Everything I expressed still holds true, but we did move forward with a new scheduled appointment. Justin and his son arrived during the window and diagnosed the issue of a blown fuse due to spotty wiring. I just had my thermostat replaced 2 weeks prior by MJS and it appeared to be related to the original issue. Justin cleaned up the wires and replaced the thermostat with a smart thermostat that I purchased. He also checked the outside line to ensure there wasnt any issues there and even installed a surge protector on my unit for reassurance for an extra fee of course. As of now my issues appear to be resolved and Im hoping for good this time.ORIGINAL:I opened a work order with my home warranty company on 12/23. I get a call on 12/24 stating they have availability that afternoon on 12/24 and someone would contact me 30 mins prior to coming out. Well, no one contacted me. Then they lie to my home warranty company and say I was unavailable. The only thing I was doing on Christmas Eve was sweating in a hot house with my family waiting on your call! The day after Christmas I attempt to call MJS directly and I cant even get to voicemail. My home warranty company calls and they experience the same but indicate they have emailed them. Its 12/27 and my unit is still down and my appointment has yet to be fulfilled. Happy Holidays 🙃
MjS Mechanical Services was honestly one of the best experiences Ive had as a homeowner. I was in need of replacing a 30 year old gas heater in my home. After calling and talking to Wade telling him what the problem was, he was at my house within the next 1/2 hour evaluating what exactly I needed. He gave me 2 different systems to choice from and worked with us on financing options. When I ask when they could Install the new system I was thinking in a few days he got ahold of his guys and they were here at my house that same day installing the new systems. The service techs were very professional and respectful. After installing the system there was a slight problem with the exhaust pipe that runs outside. They did explain all of this to me and advised me they had to return to put different exhaust pipe in. Granite I knew this would not be easy to do since I own an older home and my furnace is located on the 1st floor in a closet barely big enough to stand in, let alone having to run a pipe up 2 stories through the wall and attic to the roof which was not a straight shot.bless there heart they managed to do it without tearing any walls apart or making a mess. I cant thank them enough for thier professionalism and quick response. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new heater or A/C unit.

Work was thru American home shield and they changed a capacitor that only last for 3 months. So think twice if u wanna use them. They said thru insurance is only guaranteed for 30 days. But I don’t want to use a company that pasts will only last this much.It’s not just the insurance that you’re working with. You guys also have a reputation for your own private company.
These WERE my go-to guys until they botched the last AC job through AHS. Never ever again. Tech came out, didnt like the way my AC system was set up even though my whole community is set up the same exact way. Couldnt find a leak that 2nd company found easily, then lied to AHS which resulted in my claim denial. if you cant figure out whats wrong, say that, dont lie. 2nd company said 1st opinion by MJS was completely botched and I agree. 2nd tech found leak so easily he couldnt believe MJS tech couldnt. Proceed with caution. This company is hit or miss!! :(

MJS was assigned as our A/C tech by our home warranty. My HVAC unit was not blowing cold air in the middle of Houston summer heat. They contacted me on a Sunday, on the same day they were assigned to my service request, and came out the next day. Immediately identified the problem, ordered the part needed to fix it, and call me the next day as soon as they received the part to come back the day after and fix my unit. The tech that came both times was very nice and courteous and my HVAC was fixed in no time. Definitely recommend them!

I used this company through my home warranty Larry came to my house and check out the leak on my furnace told me if I noticed the leak again to give them a call back no problem. A couple days goes by and noticed the leak is back called the office for another visit and Justin came to my house and was a little confused why Larry wasn’t called back out to my house. After Justin doing his look around the furnace and and I’m guess his manager completed a report and sent it to my warranty coming stating the damage from neglect! It’s crazy how Larry came and didn’t say one thing about neglect and that he was just going to inform his manager about the issue I was having! I’m just don’t understand I would think of a customer is having issues and was sent from a warranty company MJS would do the right thing to get issue fixed but guess that’s why I’m not in the business to understand this. If any warranty company refers this company to you ask for someone else! They also stated to my warranty company I had a dirty pan under the furnace I’m guessing they didn’t see the pan was just there to catch the WATER SO ITS NOT DRIPPING EVERYWHERE

My air conditioner went out Friday afternoon and they had a new one installed by Monday afternoon very clean very professional very courteous and they beat everyone else’s price longshot!! Ok people, I want to begin with an apology to MJS Mechanical Services, specifically to the owner, Mr Wade. MJS was sent out to service my air conditioner by my warranty company American Home Shield. The job didnt go quite as I expected so instead of me calling MJS directly to rectify the issue, I chose instead to call my warranty company which just simply led to way more confusion than was necessary. Long story short I left a negative review that wasnt warranted and for that I apologize again.Upon reading my review Mr Wade made it his business to contact me three times in a single day to address the issue. And he approached the conversation not from the perspective of making excuses but being very realistic and open and honest and for that I was very grateful. He also was able to resolve my issue so I just want to thank him personally again.And closing I just like to say that we all know and understand that when it comes to mechanical repairs, sometimes things just dont go as planned and need to be taken a look at again. If youre ever in need of an air conditioning repair by a company owned by someone who is honest, family-oriented, and just a true genuine person who believes in getting things right, then you need to call MJS Mechanical!
All repairmen appear to be nice but my problem was not fixed until I called another company. The last straw was a man coming to my home and telling a bold face lie in my face. He was about to leave until I questioned what he told me. I found these people from the home warranty. The next guy that came out fixed the problem and told me to never let them touch anything in my home again. Noted and will not be calling them again. To the company, do not try the bit about you not having a record of my being a customer. You do and I have been drained financially from you all. I should file a small claims court lawsuit for the amount of money that you all have robbed me of.The new guy was much cheaper and fixed the problem in one visit and called to check to make sure my family wasn’t sitting in the heat.

The guys work really long hours and I cant tell you how much we appreciated that they came and even worked at night to install the new unit so we wouldnt have to endure another hot night. MJS installers just finished replacing our old AC system with a brand new American Standard system. The professional team completed the change out, installed a new larger return air duct, added an additional register into the master bedroom, all in under 4 hours. Fantastic work start to finish! Our A/C unit went out over the weekend. We made a service request through our home warranty company Saturday, Sunday afternoon we received a call from MJS that someone would be out to our house Monday between 2 and 7. The technician arrived around 6. He made his assessment and stated that there was a Freon leak of at least 3 lbs at $200 per pound. Later he tried to refill but couldn’t because it was full and there was an obstruction on the line. He later said that in order to repair the line he would have to drain the entire system and that would be 10 lbs of Freon. We called around and were told that draining the line was unnecessary. This man wanted to charge us $125 per pound for a minimum of 10 lbs. That’s $1250 to fix the system. When I questioned the technician about the veracity of his assessment he became defensive and stated that he would just leave and perhaps we should get a second opinion. We agreed to have the repairs done and that someone would call us to schedule an appointment. By Wednesday morning we had not heard anything from MJS. My husband called repeatedly and different times and the calls all went to voicemail. Around 10 am , I made my original review for MJS giving them 1 star. Mind you it’s Houston, TX., we’re in the middle of a drought, record high temperatures, and 5 solid days without air conditioning. The owner automatically contacts my husband about my review and schedules the technician to come to the house the same day.Four technicians arrived at my house around 6 pm, within the hour the A/C obstruction was cleared, the valve replaced, and there was no need to recharge the Freon in the unit.I am revising my original review because the owner did reach out to us and they were able to fix the problem without unnecessary mark ups. I do recommend that you speak to your technician about taking advantage of customers and working on his customer service skills. I should never have had to resort to extreme measures to get results.
These guys were sent out by my home warranty six years ago and I still remember how awesome they were!! I haven’t had good luck with companies through home warranty repairs but these guys were great. They actually fixed the problem, explained in detail what happened and why. Highly recommend!! A++++++
I am so grateful for MJS Mechanical!!! Justin came out to my home to conduct a diagnostic of why my A/C unit was not cooling. He concluded that I had a leak in my evaporator coil and I did not have any freon in my unit. Well... I pretty much knew that was my issue. Justin did what no one else had done. His diagnostic included his knowledge of A/C manufacturers and their reported defects. He knew my leak was the result of the manufacturers reported defect with the evaporator coil associated with my A/C unit. He informed me that if I had registered my unit with the manufacturer, there was a possibility that the issue would be covered under my warranty. Because of Justins vast knowledge, the cost of installing a new evaporator coil was much cheaper due to it being covered under my warranty. Something that without Justin being my technician, i would not have known about. I highly recommend MJS MECHANICAL. You definitely want to do business with a company whose technicians are knowledgeable, provide next level consultations to their customers, and are committed to their customers.

I had service tech Justin come out to fix my AC that went out on Thursday. He was able to come out on Friday morning. Diagnosed the issue which was the motor being busted. Justin located the part needed and ordered it right away! The part came in and he was back at my home to complete the job Tuesday before noon!! This guy was honest from the start. He didnt try to sell me a brand new system that I didnt need. I appreciate honest repairman. Now I have a go to company and will use MJS for other things. I will also recommend MJS to friends and family. Thanks so much to Justin.
I cant honestly say enough good things about MJS Mechanical services and particularly the technician JB. They were tasked with a job of providing a second opinion on a problem with my air conditioning after having Air Dystany come out first. Without going into great detail, I was advised by Air Dynasty that I would need a new condensor on a five year old Trane unit, saying it was broke and unrepairable and parts unavailable.. Seemed incorrect since my unit is only 5 years old and was cooling fine and working, it just wouldnt turn off. I checked by calling Trane and found they still sell my unit and parts. Thus second opinion. MJS and BJ to the rescue. BJ had me walk the whole system off with him and explained in detail what he was checking, what one would expect each component to do and found no problem with any part of my system. He explained there is a cut off switch that can get stuck but it was working as it should currently. I asked if I should just go ahead and replace it and he said honestly he saw no current need. But if the issue reoccurred to call them directly within 30 days and he could recheck and replace if needed. He walked me throigh the thermostat programming and explained if someone turned the temp down really low and pressed hold it could stay on constantly. ( if its that, I need to talk to my kids)BJ And MJS Mechanical saved me alot of money on something we never should have been recommended to be replace by another company.Again, highly recommend the use of MJS Mechanical.
MJs was called out through my home warranty company. I wasnt really expecting anything to be covered through the warranty as is usually the case but experience with the tech was terrible and he was wrong/lazy. Mechanic jumped immediately to a bad king valve after about 3 minutes of looking at where a leak was. He quoted 1-2 weeks to get the part and +/ $1,500 to repair; also tried to push a new condenser all together for $5,000. When diagnosing, I was with him the entire time and asked how he knew the leak was at the valve and the valve was actually bad without verifying through a simple leak detection (his reply was I call it as I see it) and he raised his voice and refused to go through further diagnostics and told me I could call someone else if I wanted to go through that. He left and I gladly called out Spring Branch A/C who was great to work with. They actually put a test on the condenser line (imagine that..., to identify the location of the leak) and found the valve had no issues and it was just a small leak on the weld. A small sawdering job and 30 minutes later I had a good test on the line and was filled back up w/ refrigerant for $700. I am glad I questioned the MJ tech and did not let him bully him into a more expensive repair. Will not be recommending MJs Mechanical Services to anyone as the tech was lazy and did not want to do the proper diagnostics and yelled at me when asking technical questions to insure I was going to get a proper repair. If you have them through American Home Shield and they are the callout- do yourself a favor and request someone else
Update: the owner of MJS called me back the following morning to follow up with me. After discussing the previous day’s events, he apologized and rectified the situation. Customer service is extremely important and MJS did their part to make this situation right.My A/C started blowing hot air a few nights ago. I placed a service request with AHS (the warranty service that was included when we bought the house) to have someone come out and check the unit. A friendly tech from MJS Mechanical Service came out 2 days later and checked my outside unit. After explaining to me that my condenser was shot, he gave me 2 repair options. The first option was to replace the outside condensing unit. The 2nd option was to replace the outside condensing unit and the indoor evaporator coil. After leaving me the 2 quotes and discussing the options with my wife, I called my normal non home warranty A/C company to come out, check the unit, and give me an additional quote. Thankfully, my normal A/C guy that came out found a burned up wire and a capacitor. He repaired the wire, replaced the capacitor, and left me with a nice, cool house. I was very thankful that it was actually just a burned up capacitor and not the other stuff.
I had a severe A/C issue, Wade at MJS mechanical went above and beyond the call of duty, he completely reviewed our system found the issues and recommended the proper fix for the issues, we are very pleased with the outcome. his crew was very efficient and cordial, they worked all day inside a very hot attic, without complain and made sure that both units were installed correctly, redirected the air flow so that we could have the best output of air. We are would recommend their services any time.
Wade was amazing,; and saved me money. The day I called Wade about my AC not working, he came over that evening to look at the system. Wade came out to my home after filing a claim with American Home Shield. He was amazing! He was able to find the issue and fix it quickly. Was super informative and walked me through other potential issues to keep an eye out for and helped me get to know my A/C system in our new home. Would definitely recommend Wade with MJS even to friends that do not have an American Home Shield warranty.
Service through OneGuard was as expected. Not good and frankly dishonest. Charged two trip fees even when OneGuard said that didn’t need to be done. Took 5 days from when I called for them to make it to house. The service tech then blamed every and all issues including a freon leak on dirty filters. In short they look for any reason to not service these home warranty accounts. Also the tech said one thing to me and on paperwork and then told a different story back at office. I would suggest you look elsewhere than this company. You’ll quickly learn these companies agree to under market pricing for home warranty companies so they do whatever they can to make up for their bad contract. The good news I had already called out a reputable company who fixed the leak and had me up and running in 2 hours.
MJS Mechanical Services came out in a timely manner to replace our entire AC unit which was around 12 years old, and had a very bad Freon leak. We didnt obtain any of the workers names, but they were very professional and did the job without any hassles. Within a couple of hours, we had the AC running! I HIGHLY recommend this company!! Terrible service. They were contacted by my home warranty company to troubleshoot my fan constantly running on my ac. The tech noticed water was also dripping because of a drainage issue. They determined my blower needed to be replaced and the drain needed to be unclogged. The tech told me how to fix it using an air compressor (which I dont have).The blower issue was out of warranty because he said it happened from a power surge, the drainage issue is within warranty and something they could do. They refused to resolve the drainage issue unless I payed the $2,000 for a new blower and more. When I asked them to fix the drainage issue I was told to do it myself or contact a plumber.

I called MJS on a Saturday morning around 8am because my AC was not cooling. Wade returned my call and setup a service window between 12noon and 5pm. Wade arrived @ 12:05pm! He quickly diagnosed my issue as a freon leak in the evaporation coil, which is located in my attic. After discussing my options, I decided to replace the coil. His team had other jobs to complete but arrived later that evening around 7pm and work diligently and professionally to complete the work. (The 3 man team worked until 11pm!)I highly recommend MJS Mechanical Services for your AC needs.
My A/C went out on the hottest day of the year, go figure! I was referred to MJS by a relative and called them that night and left a VM. To my surprise, the next day early morning I got a call back from Wayne! He told me he would be out to inspect my AC that morning and he did not disappoint. After inspecting my unit he got his crew out that day to make the repairs to get my system up and running! MJS even went as far as to help my family out with some HVAC issues we were having! Now my Unit is working and my AC is blowing cold! My house is freezing and I couldnt be happier.

A technician (Jason Williams) came out to inspect our duct work for our home warranty. He was very unprofessional and seemed as though he did not want to be here. He spent a few minutes in our attic to do his inspection. We had to encourage him to take a single photo for his report. We had to provide him with photos that we took of the damage inside our duct work. We got a message back from our warranty company saying that the inspection showed no mechanical damage. He literally did nothing while he was here. He was a lazy employee who made us not receive coverage from our warranty. Plus it cost $75 for him come. Very frustrating.

MJS saved us again! On Tuesday afternoon our AC started shorting after a power surge, I called the company I had used for years, MJS, Talked to Wade Anderson about our problem he said can be there in about 30 minutes. He arrived started to check our system found out we burned out a capacitor he replaced it and we were cooled again I am so relieved & grateful to have a company i can depend on. AHS assigned this company to me. They were prompt regarding their arrival. Once Jason arrived he did not have a MASK on as he walked into my home,, i guess the company doesnt have a COVID-19 policy.. He act as if he did want to service me. He came in asking me what was wrong.Telling me what the warranty company does not cover.He replaced my thermostat in which he said was junk(Nest Thermostat E) with some Honeywell T-4, but he was taking my junk thermostat with him. Maybe I wasnt the customer he wanted to service. AHS has called MJS several times but no return call. He even put the incorrect dated on the service receipt 09/30/2020

I would like to Retract my previous BAD review on Wade and MJS. Now that the facts have been gathered, the fault falls on my home warranty - AHS and their failure to follow up with me and give the authorization to MJS to repair my A/C unit. Wade went the extra mile and spent lots of time on the phone with AHS to get me approved for a new compressor instead of a rebuilt. I have had several follow up calls with Wade and he and MJS are very well the top of their class for professional and promptness in the A/C business. We also discovered that MJS phone system needed a little update and they have done so. I will leave my previous review below just as a reference. I am one HAPPY COLD A/C Customer, thankks to MJS.What does a customer need to do other than leave a voicemail, multiple times and they do not call you back? I am using them through AHS and they sent Wade out to diagnose the problem and it feels like since they couldn’t up sell me on a new unit because the one I have is only maybe 6 year’s old and the compressor went out, I have been without A/C for 9 days. I’m guessing if someone wanted to pay them money they still might not answer?
MJS replaced an AC unit. This was the first time I had used their services. I found the employees are top notch, very knowledgeable, and professional and their finished work was excellent. I very highly recommend them. MJS is an excellent company to call for repair/replace AC issues.
Unprofessional and rude , one of the technician came to our property which was covered by home warranty. He was late to the appointment, and not properly equipped. He was constantly smoking during the visit. After his quick 2 minute inspection he first bad mouthed the home warranty company , which was surprising that these companies pay them and they earn regular business from them. Then he started complaining about HVAC unit and kept on ranting about why am I using 10 year old unit. HE left cigarette butts inside and outside unit.
MJS came to my house to repair my furnace. Scheduled time was 4:00p.m. and Jason showed up 5 minutes early. In less than an hour he had diagnosed and fixed the problem. Wade and his guys have always been on time and have done great work. I recommend mjs to anyone.

MJS saved me again! Why do ACs always misbehave on weekends & holidays? So Saturday night my AC started shorting, I called the company i had used years prior, MJS, & Sunday morning a technician with freon arrived & did a full evaluation (its an old house). I was cool by Sunday afternoon & the parts for my old system were ordered & the technician returned Monday to improve & even replace the OLD draining pan. In laymans terms had a leak, a blockage & a hole in the pan & needed a boost of freon ;) All were fixed, I can literally see my electricity usage in July falling below that of the last 6 months. I am so relieved & grateful to have a company i can depend on.
This company owner Mr. Wade is great. He care about his costumer and likes to care of his business and is really acknowledge about AC. He also takes the time to explain everything on details and inform the costumer the whole picture.
They are not really servicing or inspecting your ac unit. I had Reliant Energy do an inspection and they found many connections, plenum connections to the main unit that were leaking this should have been caught during their maintenance or inspection of the units. I did try to speak to Wayne he did not want to listen to what I had to say I would not do business with this company as far as Im concerned they are criminals they are not doing the work as stated. He became extremely defensive when I asked him why this was not caught during the inspections. I requested he send out a technician and fix these issues that they missed and he wanted to charge me a service call. This is the same individual that supposedly gave me a military discount then re-added it back into the invoice at the bottom and thought I would not notice. I told her I received a military discount from this vendor and she informed me that no he ripped me off. To me theres a whole lot of wrong here and I have all the evidence to prove it.Taking advantage of somebody who is visually disabled should not be in business
Wade has consistently been our go-to when it comes to A/C repairs. He is honest, dependable and goes above and beyond when it comes to repairs. When other companies have misdiagnosed or misled us, we have always regretted not calling MJS first!
Upstairs wall unit started smoking on Monday night 10/9 , so called AHS home warranty for AC issue the next morning. MJS was very prompt to call and come out on Aug 11th. Tech came and cycled the unit, said compressor seemed to be heating up and when he turned it on and off he stated the compressor was taking longer than he thought it should to turn back on. Since the unit is in the wall and he didnt know much about these types of ac units he said he would take my word on the smoking issue and did not need to inspect further. He was going to request for the unit to be replaced, and I should have an answer the next morning to what AHS response is. Next day no call from MJS, so I called after lunch and left a message to check on update. Following day still no return phone call, so I called again and left a message. After 7pm Called AHS warranty to see if they had an update, was told MJS had never responded back since the service request AHS issued, and they couldnt go further till MJS turned in their diagnosis. Explained the situation to AHS that they had already come on the 11th and that after looking at reviews show they have a history of not following up. We were supposed to have floors put in upstairs that day and postponed the install because of the ac repair and that I didnt care how long its going to take but I just needed a time frame so I could schedule everything accordingly with the flooring company. She called MJS and of course no answer, so she left a voicemail stating she needs the diagnosis asap, no later than Monday the 16th and told them her concern for bad reviews for not responding to calls. Well today the 16th no call, so I call MJS and finally someone answers. Ask him whats the update on the status and says there is no need for an update since nothing is wrong. Was told, his report shows the tech came and everything was fine and nothing wrong with the unit, and I should call AHS and request someone else come out if I want a second opinion. So even if that were the case why could they answer or return my call earlier? If this was their petty passive aggressive response for me calling AHS to get answers since they wouldnt respond, then even more reason for people not to do business with them.P.S. in the hour and half since talking to MJS and waiting on hold with AHS warranty while I write this, I turned the AC and the top 1/4 of the coils and bottom row have already froze over. So I am glad their diagnosis shows the unit working properly
Made a service via AHS. Dispatched to MJS. Wade promptly called me next morning and came out that afternoon. Determined AHS was not best solution for broken compressor. Applied AHS credit to cost of new unit. Installers came out following morning and completed install in 90 minutes. Great work, professional and in this heat, VERY TIMELY!
Wayne found parts for my outdated heater, he went over every detail and quoted a very competitive price on parts and labor . . I chose Wayne to do my repair & replacement over others and gladly give him 5 Star rating!! I highly recommend him to others . . he is honest and direct, no upsells, his work was excellent.
Justin and his technicians got to our house same day, diagnosed our problem, trouble shooted with us, and then installed a new AC the same day. In the hot houston rain. They were fast, professional, and reasonably priced.

AHS Claim. Very Prompt response, but the next day heater was not working again. Sent Larry out and he diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. Issue resolved and all is wonderful. Thanks Larry for following through.

We had Justin come out and look at one of our units. he was very honest about what we needed, and how long we could go with our current outside unit. He was very knowledgeable, and didnt try to upsale us on another unit. I would ask for Justin everytime

They were sent by American Home Shielf to fix our A/C. They didnt have the part to fix it right away but gave us a temporary fix and returned the following day with the part. The tech was in and out in about 15 minutes and its been running well ever since.
