Henry was outstanding!! He fit us in last minute as we were told by a previous company that we had a propane leak. Henry completed a thorough test of the attic and bubble test confirmed a leak and he was able to fix with a couple turns of a wrench. Our units are about 11 years old and Henry spent time to educate us on the new technology and recommendations for how and when to proceed on replacement. He is very knowledgeable and professional. Will definitely be using HVAC cowboys in the future!

The cowboys were awesome to work with.Initial scoping visit to quotation, agreement, and scheduling was very knowledgeable and professional, with courtesy and efficiency.My studio AC mini split was installed in a day and looks and works great. The install location and details were exactly as we envisioned. We are very happy with the work and would recommend them to anyone!

Henry was a class act. My only regret is that I did not call sooner. He helped fix my HVAC issue in one visit that another company could not fix after multiple visits. He was very patient, transparent, and knowledgeable .

Hvac Cowboys provided a phenomenal service. A technician came out the same day (Sunday night) to look into my AC troubles. EJ looked things over and thoroughly tested multiple points of my AC unit. His predictions were totally correct in his evaluation. The ladies at the office were very quick and responsive with all calls and messages keeping me up to date continuously on parts and scheduling. I received a quote within the hour and the parts were being acquired as soon as possible. His installation was meticulously detailed as I watched him remove, install, and test each component as he went through the procedure. He was kind enough to explain throughout the entire process what he was doing. He explained in detail while using multiple pieces of equipment to check input and output pressures, coolant levels, etc. It was very clear EJ was a professional and master in his craft. If this guy comes to your house for installation or repair then youre in very good hands.

These guys know their stuff!I worked with Henry first, who was great at getting into the system with me and pointing out directly what we needed to do. He provided pictures inside our system and really great explanations for solutions. We ended up purchasing the solaris system for UV cleaning as well as a cleaning of some of the internal parts because of the mold build-up, yuck!EJ & Shawn came by to do the install & clean and were also really great to work with! EJ particularly put in some hard work, sweat was beading from his nose as I noticed he was getting into all those hard to reach spots to make our system clean. As much as he was sweating, he seemed to also love what he was doing. Meanwhile, I was drilling them both with tons of questions, of which they happily answered them all like true experts.Overall, it was an A+ experience and I definitely recommend HVAC Cowboys for anyone needing the work

Specifically, technician Henry Newsom’s knowledge, attention-to-detail and efficiency are true assets to the HVAC Cowboys. I strongly recommend this class act HVAC company!

Once they had our money, they became unresponsive and left us hanging with multiple issues, a state we are still in to this day.We used them (they were called Vertex at the time) for our new construction so they did the installation of all the ductwork as well as the installation of the three brand new Trane HVAC systems we bought from them.We moved into our new home in May of 2023. Right away, one of these brand new Trane HVAC systems did not work. They told us there was a part that was bad and needed to be ordered and it would take a couple weeks to get in. A couple weeks later, they said they were taking the part off of one of the other Trane systems they had in their shop to get our system up and running. It seemed odd that a brand new system would have such an issue right out of the box, and we were left wondering if the part they secured was from another new Trane or from some other used HVAC. I guess we will never know.In addition and also right from the beginning, one of the systems made an annoying whistling sound at the air intake right outside our sons bedroom. Their technician came out and tried various things like removing the intake grill and reattaching it, etc. To no avail - it still made the noise. Eventually (in September of 2023) the owner (Sean) came out and looked at it. He said they would order a replacement grill that was a different style which should solve the noise issue. That was over a year ago and we are still waiting.Finally, and again, from the beginning, the outside compressor of at least one of these brand new Trane systems made an unusual and unexpected sound upon shutdown - it was like a loud clunk clunk clunk that sounded like something was seriously wrong. I sent them a video to demonstrate the issue.Their technician came out, tried multiple things for over an hour, and eventually said he didnt know what was causing it. He suggested that replacing the fan motor might possibly fix the issue so he left and we assumed he was going to order the replacement fan and come back. We were wrong; we received a quote for over $1,000 - to replace a fan on a brand new system!I let them know that this was unacceptable and have not heard from them since. Even the superintendent of our build has not been able to get them to respond.I would definitely not recommend this company.

Henry arrived exactly when he said he would and had troubleshot and fixed my system faster than I could blink. I was so impressed that I signed up for regular maintenence. These guys rock!

Henry was prompt and efficient. We had an unusual issue with both of our heat pumps where the NEST thermostats were sending the wrong signal to the outdoor units. Each of the units had a separate issue, and Henry was able to diagnose both independently.Im no chump, but this was beyond my expertise, and Henry found the issue and created a temporary solution very quickly. The next day we replaced the thermostats and now everything is working correctly.

Chris was great and his companion was very quiet/respectful.Chris asked questions about what i had experienced, went about diagnosing what should happen, gave me options and then began working . Chris explained costs and I agreed to have his suggestions done.They put on protective foot wear which I totally appreciated. Cleaning, adjusting, patiently explaining what they were doing.When done, I found the unit was much cleaner and ran so much smoother.All in all, great experience !

Henry from HVAC Cowboys was great. Showed up promptly. Solved the problem quickly. He was very knowledgeable & educational on how to help manage, prevent expensive issues, & take control over our home HVAC system despite the extra load that systems in Texas must endure. It seems like a good, fair business.

EJ was our scheduled technician for our maintenance appt. He was great! He took the time to listen and answer my questions about our new system as well as my concerns about the temperature issues we were still having in our bedroom. He took the extra time to look specifically at the duct running from the system to our bedroom and noticed it was kinked. He adjusted and installed straps to hold it in better position to help with better air flow. I cannot express how much I appreciated him taking the extra time to listen to my concerns and then to take the extra steps to see what could be causing the issues. Thanks EJ!

Tech was knowledgeable and got system up and running . Had another HVAC company out and they were unable to get system working .

The Company was very efficient and clean. We had a similar 3 ton heat pump installed 3 years ago and it took about 14 hours to complete the job. Vertex Mechanical’s technicians were in and out and had the job completed in a total of 6 hours and everything is working beautifully. They were very competitive on price for the Trane SEER 2 high efficiency, variable speed compressor and air handler we had installed. Would highly recommend this company.

We were in a pinch with our mini split unit not cooling. I contacted Vertex and had a tech working on our unit within 18 hours. We received honest and knowledgeable feedback about our unit and next steps, and felt comfortable with the recommendations. The repair was quick and easy. We are planning to use Vertex to repair a separate issue with our HVAC system. We highly recommend Vertex!

Vertex promptly responded to my call for service, and the technician (Chris) arrived at the scheduled time. Chris was very thorough and communicative while tracking down the root cause of what turned out to be a minor, but vexing, problem. Overall, a very good experience, and I recommend Vertex and Chris.

Communication was great with the office. Techs Chris and George spent a long time trying to diagnose a difficult problem, staying after typical work hours. They returned promptly once the part was ready, installed it, and it worked for a couple of days. They rearranged schedules to attend to us immediately and were able to find the additional problem. In my view, you learn a lot about a service organization when things do NOT go as planned. The folks at Vertex took great care of us, and we will certainly call them again should they need arise.

The office provided me with an estimated time that the Tech would show up. The tech showed up within 30 min of the time. The tech, Michael, worked on the agreed upon items in the work order. Didn’t attempt to upwelling. As a matter of fact, diagnosed one of the items not to be defective and saved me money. All in all, a great experience. We will continue to use them.

George was extremely professional and courteous and explained everything he was doing to me. He got to the issue with our air conditioner unit and fixed it in a timely manner. Very pleasant and I’d highly recommend George and Vertex Mechanical to everyone

I reported the HVAC issue on Saturday and got a call from Chris on Sunday and he showed up on Monday to diagnose the issue and get it going in 30 minutes. Great and speedy communication and services.

The technician (George/Jorge) arrived on time. Assessed the cause of the furnace failing to light and had it working properly in short order. He then provided images and a video of what was wrong and that it was now working properly. He also gave an explanation of what was wrong and what he did to correct the problem. I am most impressed by his knowledge and expertise in correcting the problem, as opposed to others who might try to sell me on a new furnace. This is exceptional, compared to my experiences with other HVAC repair/supply companies. I will be calling on Vertex Mechanical for future repair/maintenance needs. As a resident of Austin since 1965 it is also nice to know that they are locally owned and operated.

Our AC went out during a Texas summer heat wave with 100+ temperatures for 32 days running. I have an elderly husband who was just out of the hospital, so we needed quick service at a time of peak AC service demand, in an area not covered by many companies. I scheduled an appointment online in the middle of the night and Chris got to us quickly that morning. He was knowledgeable, polite, efficient, and had parts for my Trane unit on his truck. 30 minutes later cool air was flowing! Definitely recommend!

Very professional and knowledgeable. I had another company tell me my system needed to be replaced and quoted me $20K. I called Vertex for a second opinion and they fixed my issue for $1K and my system has been running great. My experience with them has been very positive and they communicate very well.

Vertex Mechanical is great! Hard to find reputable companies these days but Vertex is fantastic! We had them do a clean and check for our furnace to make sure it was working efficiently before the upcoming winter season. I called and was able to get an appointment quickly, Chris arrived on time, was very kind and friendly, did our inspection and provided great feedback on our system. I will definitely use them in the spring to check our AC. I highly recommend them!

My HVAC unit stopped operating properly after a power spike. The technician showed up on time and was very professional. He diagnosed the issue that my thermostat had reset to a standard AC unit rather than a heat pump unit and was not sending the correct commands to the unit. Also did a overall health check. Easy fix and honest about the issue rather than diagnosing it as a much more expensive repair. Will use them again if I have any other HVAC issues in the future.

We recently had Vertex replace a 14 year old Mitsubishi mini split unit. Chris accurately diagnosed the condition of the old unit and installed a new one a few days later. He was exceptionally professional in his work and explained any questions I had. Jeremy coordinated the job from the office and kept me up to date at all times. I am very pleased that I chose this company and would recommend them highly.

Had Vertex and specifically Chris help install a whole new unit (air-handler, coil/heat pump/compressor) in August. Had a slight issue with heat during a cold snap and Chris showed up that day and diagnosed the issue and got my family back and up and running in no time. He was very professional, timely, tidy, resourceful and thorough. I would highly recommend.

The guys were able to come to my rescue in one day. They showed up when they said but in the end needed a warranty replacement part. This is Friday mid afternoon. The tech confirmed the part was in stock and drove to get it then dropped it with the Saturday overtime tech who came and got us up and running. Thanks guys! If you are wondering, there is a weekend up charge but it was less than a nice hotel room.

Vertex Mechanical helped us out with our mini-split AC system when several other HVAC companies werent able to offer any solutions beyond full replacement of our system, which would have cost several thousand dollars. We have a leak in our system and VM is in the process of identifying and sealing the leak. Thanks to them were finally moving forward with repairs. If you need help with issues in your mini-split system, contact them for sure! A lot of other HVAC companies in the Austin area dont have the expertise or manpower to tackle mini-split AC issues.

Vertex service was excellent. I set up an appointment for 8 am and a Vertex van showed up at 7:50 am. The tech, Chris, was very professional and knowledgeable (knows Trane HVAC systems). He was able to troubleshoot and identify the issue with my AC in minutes. After replacing the bad component, he thoroughly checked out the rest of the system. I was very satisfied with the overall experience... so much so that I reciprocated by purchasing an maintenance plan.

Vertex Mechnical literally gets it. They are fast, efficient, knowledgeable and most of all professional. They dont try to upsell you on things that arent necessary. My technician prepared me for what needs to be done, corrections that need to be made and how our system is currently having weakpoints. I would absolutely recommend Vertex for big and small jobs as they helped us with our challenging office space needs. They also check into warranties. Will do business with them again!

My air conditioner stopped cooling on a Thursday evening in August. I called Vertex Mechanical and was able to easily schedule an appointment for the following day. On Friday morning the technician, Chris, called to confirm that he was on way. He arrived well before the scheduled time, which worked even better with my schedule. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem — my air conditioner is running great now! On Friday evening, I noticed a slight water stain on my ceiling and found the source in the attic near the air conditioner. Assuming it was the result of an overflow, I added towels to the area. On Sunday morning I confirmed it was an active leak and called Vertex. They contacted the technician, who immediately came over to address the problem. He was apologetic and didnt hesitate correct the issue. I was impressed with the service and signed up for a yearly maintenance plan with the company!

I dont leave many reviews but had to for the service I received today. Chris, our technician, has the perfect balance between professionalism and being personable to which is only augmented further by his knowledge to resolve our issues. This business and its employees are absolutely INCREDIBLE! We woke up to a very, very warm house in the middle of triple digit heat in Texas. Every place we contacted couldn’t come out for days, but one call to Vertex and Chris was on his way to our home. Chris was not only professional, he took the time out to explain everything that was happening and what was needed to fix it. His knowledge just blew me away. My house is now cooling down and I was saved from moving my entire family into a hotel while we waited for someone to come out. I give Vertex a 20 out of 10, and even then I’m not sure that’s enough. I highly recommend Vertex and Chris! You won’t be disappointed!

We contracted with Vertex Mechanical for the purchase and installation of a 5-ton TRANE HVAC system. The installation team was very experienced & knowledgeable, and they professionally installed a large system (including the removal of the existing) within a single day. We were very pleased with the final outcome.

The technicians were prompt, courteous, and quick. They texted me when they were on their way. They were willing to give a quote ahead of time after I sent a picture of the problem. They alerted me to an unrelated safety issue I hadn’t previously known about.
