GVEC Air Conditioning & Heating

My dad met up with Anthony when he came to my house. I did not meet him. I’m not sure what he did, but I have no heat now. He came because my AC was out well now I’m getting plenty of cold air, but no hot or even warm. So apparently they can’t come back until Monday, which means I’m sitting here in freezing temperatures with no heat all weekend.

We been having intermitting problems with our a/c and heating unit since we had it installed . GVEC a/c and heating on the other hand has stood by their parts and labor waranty and getting the labor done in a timely manner . Most of their techs are courteous and knowledgeable Anthony was fast and got it done right on installing our new blower motor (second one) I give them all 5 stars this time because they make things right and done fast .

Aaron was awesome! He was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He showed up early, figured out the problem quickly and fixed it immediately! Great service!

Brandon was very informative. He came in. Did the job showed me how to work the thermostat He fixed the one unit and told me what was wrong with the other. He was very good.

I’m not happy with the reasoning of why our unit has not been cooling the past 2 days. It is constantly running and not cooling. There is no way that just in the past 2 days that it is because of the temperature outside and our insulation. The inside unit had black residue around where the fuses are looks like something was arcing trying to catch on fire. The technician went to truck then came back in with electrical tape. We have had nothing but issues since the first day this unit was installed by GVEC a few years ago. They do not it even install this system ECOER anymore because of the complaints but will not take this one out. GVEC this needs to be made right before my house ends up burning down and lives of humans and pets are injured or lost.The second pic of thermostat is what it keeps reading our unit has constantly been running. It is cool outside since it’s raining I’m not buying it’s because I need insulation and they can get me a quote.(June 2024)UpdateJuly 10, 2024 I had GVEC come out do the spring inspection I paid 468.00 for them at that time to be told there is an issue with my unit and the part has to be ordered from Ecoer and they will get back with me when it comes in. Today July 16, 2024?I get home and it’s 78 degrees in house. I called after hours to be told it would be a charge of 180.00 for afterhours. This is a system I am making monthly payments on to GVEC in which they donot even install these systems anymore. Since it was installed it’s been nothing but issues. Looks like now the only option I have is to get TDLR involved. We have given GVEC many attempts to fix it right and it’s still not. Here we are sweating while GVEC sleeps in cooler temps and is making money off this lemoned hvac system.

Joe was professional and very knowledgeable about the HVAC system and the ductwork. His explanations of our existing system made it easy for us to understand the need to upgrade the ventilation system. We feel he is a definite asset to GVEC! Dave and Melissa Skasik

This is the second time we’ve had to have a technician out to fix our cooling issues. Unfortunately there seems to be a difference of opinion within GVEC regarding how to resolve which has the potential to costing us more money. Today we start the process of seeking out a manager to help us. The last time we tried this we got the run around and was never connected with a decision maker. 🤞

Brittany was courteous, neat, efficient, and she installed the ordered part in a short amount of time. The new grill has a big impact on lessening the sound of the unit when it is running.Brittany represents GVEC well!

The air conditioning staff has always been kind, polite, friendly and a hard working . They were prompt on getting the parts in for my unit. They stay true to their word and do their best to fix the issue at hand. My experience has been great with all of them

Gunner was very pleasant, courteous & professional . He quickly identified the issue but the fix for our ac to cool again required a part be ordered, & its 101 degrees outside. Gunner offered to put a window ac he had in his truck in our bedroom...but the unit didnt work but he returned a short time later with one that did. Above & beyond customer service!

Nathan really knows what he is doing and told me what was wrong with my air conditioner. But I like GEVC and yes I hope Nathan will be fixing the problem. Thank you very much for coming out to my house right away.

We just had an amazing experience with GVEC. We had to have an air conditioner installed. The gies installing were extremely polite and sincerely went the extra mile to make sure things were done properly. They cleaned up and hauled everything away. Took the time to instruct us on details and was such a pleasure meeting them. We highly recommend GVEC.

Brittany has been out to our house several times. We think she’s the best AC tech at GVEC!! Today’s service call is going to save us $$$ in heating and cooling costs- new insulation!!

Chance was very polite and respectful. His analysis of my A/C led to not just to a quick remedy but a more in depth investigation revealed what led to the problem(a frayed wire). Im grateful for his ability to go above and beyond his service.

I paid for a new ac unit and later for a vent to be installed in my home. While the ac and vent has worked well, the damage done to my ceiling and vent outlet was damaged when the vent was installed by the GVEC techs. It’s been over a year since a GVEC contractor scheduled a date to replace the drywall but he didn’t show up last September 2020. I have been in communications with GVEC multiple times since then, and still, my drywall/ceiling remains damaged due to their error and I have yet to hear back from GVEC or any contractor to follow up. What will it take for the company to finally remedy their mistake and fix my ceiling???

GVEC is back again working on units. This time appears we have someone who knows what he’s doing. Aaron Cheatham and Erik represents them well. Hope they compensate them well. Very polite, thorough. Had to order part and reschedule return and this is return 3 weeks later. Not happy about that but if we have any trouble from this day forward, we’ve told him they had to take the unit out of the house and put a different one in and replace the unit outside. Nothing else will be acceptable thank heavens for warrantees because this LG and Mitsubishi mini split air-conditioning system has been a real joke. Well back today not working. Installing new outside head on Friday. Never again. Replaced one inside unit on Friday but back again Monday. Unit not talking. Ordering yet another part. Everything they’ve done they could’ve replaced the whole unit outside already and that’s what we’re ready to happen but do you think one CEO or one operations manager will return my phone calls nope, still waitingUpdate:Got three new units inside and out. Aaron, Ryan and Brandon spent whole day redoing it. Different brand again so we shall see. After 4 years of paying for something yhat does not work i just hope these do.

Brittany was great ! She was knowledgeable, thorough and nice to talk to. Its great seeing a woman doing this job !I commend her for a job well done.

I am amazed at how quickly GVEC Air Conditioning and Heating responded when my daughter called them about my air conditioner, which had stopped cooling on the weekend!! My daughter worries about me because I am elderly and dont do well in the heat and Im alone and recently widowed. Service Technician Brittany Rodriguez arrived promptly, asked a few questions and began testing the unit. She was very knowledgeable and found the problem quickly. The problem requires a part, which she ordered right away. She told me she would follow up and let me know when the part will arrive and can be replaced. She told me if it isnt readily available, GVEC Air Conditioning and Heating would provide a window A/C unit to keep me cool!! Brittany was very friendly and took time to explain the problems!! Excellent service all the way around!!

Brandon was sent to my house to diagnose a problem with HVAC unit purchased from GVEC in the summer of 2023. This was the 6th visit trying to diagnose what was making the filter wet.Brandon was able to determine the problem in less than 15 min. I only wish he had been the first person out instead of the 6th.The part has arrived and GVEC is scheduled to replace it tomorrow. When the job is completed and the problem is solved, my faith in GVEC will be cautiously renewed.I must add that all the employees have been polite, respectful and professional in their approach to the problem.

Nathan Stafford, showed up 45 minutes early than was expected, installed 2 Window Units to help Cool our Home in a Thunderstorm which came through on Wednesday Evening, said He had to order the Part to Fix our A/C, which was Done Thursday Morning, in my Book , He Gets 2- Thumbs Up and my Sincere Thanks for a Job Well Done , Considering that the Part had to be Ordered, Again Thank You, Nathan Stafford,😃😁😜👍

This review is for the people that are employed there. The folks I have met are top notch. I hope I dont see them as much this year though.

Our technician told us that our HVAC, that was less than two years old, needed to be cleaned. It would be just over a thousand dollars. I opted for a second opinion, and SURPRISE! the unit doesn’t need any work.Last time I call GVEC!!!This was not Brandon, and the tech came out in November 2024.

Brandon did a good job trouble shooting. Great coming up with a solution.

GVEC scheduled a technician (Brandin) quickly, and the job got done!! He figured out quickly why the AC wasn’t cooling well and got us fixed up.

Had one of our HVAC units stopped working last night and we were able to schedule a service visit for today. Brandin Pittman did a great job getting the unit working while identifying warranty repairs needed. He also provided quotes on some other preventive measures with a detailed explanation of the benefits. Great customer service by Brandin!

Great service. It was the hottest day of the summer and these guys showed up within the hour, fixed the capacitor very quickly and they were both very nice.

GVEC. Tried them for first time and will be last time. I have two units so twice the cost in the beginning. They don’t flush out drains or clear debris from the outside unit. After two days from service one unit went silent. Called in and a next available appointment was a week later to come out to check. Charged me a service call plus a charge to flush out drain which should have been done the first time. In the end about 3x the amount would have paid for another service.

Zero stars at this point. My family is very disappointed in the entire process. We have paid over $2000 for repairs and still do not have a working A/C system. Originally, when the unit failed, we called GVEC and another company to come out for a repair estimate. Both companies gave similar estimates indicating the same repairs, for a similar price, so we chose GVEC. We called them to come out, and they did not do the repairs indicated on the original estimate and have also stated that the guy who wrote it is no longer with the company. GVEC has been in our home three times now since the New Year, and each time we had hoped they would straighten out the problem, but instead we got a different story about why the unit is not working. The second time, Abraham went up in the attic and fixed it so we had heat before the freeze set in, but he also told me my insulation was too thin, which indicated he knew that the A/C would not work. Guess what, when the temp hit 87 yesterday, the unit wasnt keeping up! Today, I paid $215 to learn that the evaporator coil has multiple leaks in it and will cost over $2000 in labor alone to repair. That was never a problem before. Clearly, the techs have caused more damage than there originally was, and have displayed some dishonest tactics to try to cover up their mistakes. This has been a huge disappointment and a waste of our hard earned money. I wish I had called the other company because I would be sitting in a home with working A/C right now. I could have gotten ripped off by anybody but I wasnt expecting it from GVEC because they have been so highly recommended to me by several people. To say that I am extremely disappointed is an understatement. GVEC has wasted my time and my money, doubled the original cost of the repair, taken me or my husband away from our workday, and I still do not have a working air conditioner. Very disappointed!Edit, 3/1/24I have not heard back from GVEC via text, phone or email.

Installers were extremely professional and went out of their way to make sure everything was done correctly. They spent several extra hours making adaptations to the return air since the new unit was larger than the one being replaced. The only issue was that some equipment that was ordered wasnt compatible with the setup in my home and the space allowed. This was, in no part, any fault of the Installers and they worked tirelessly to correct each situation!

Overall a disappointment. Cannot confidently recommend GVEC for HVAC installation.We are loyal GVEC customers and this is our second home and second HVAC purchase and install. A unit was installed and purchased summer of 2023. The team had challenges while installing the unit and the more junior team player was complaining left and right about wires being too short, it being too hot outside etc. While the unit was installed there was damage to our ceiling (which GVEC did responsibly repair in a mostly timely manner).One of the install team members left tools in our attic and called me from his personal cellphone repeatedly in the morning before 8am without leaving a voicemail or identifying himself when I answered the phone (not professional or courteous in handling his mistake). My husband is rev primary point of contact listed and wasn’t contacted about the misplaced tools.This winter our new unit wasn’t warming our home. It took a week for them to send out crew member to come take a look and turns out the install crew switched some wires so the heat pump wasn’t getting the message it needed to turn on. GVEC did comp us this service visit.Here we are in Spring of 2024. We JUST finally had our permit inspection from the city of Schertz 3 weeks ago (GVEC’s error not the City of Schertz). Our unit FAILED inspection for an improperly sized breaker and the unitsealed properly. The inspector sent communications to GVEC same day as the inspection. It took me 2 weeks of calling multiple times to finally get a repair even scheduled. The crew which was sent out over a week ago then replaced the wrong breaker and with the incorrectly sized breaker at that. We are still waiting for the situation to be rectified. Overall, the experience has been a hassle and GVEC has not lived up to our expectation as loyal long term customers.

UPDATED (8/7/2023): GVEC did a great job of helping get the broken AC unit up and running again. The technician was pleasant and did a great job. Im very pleased with them and will use them again.Their work is usually great, but this time I faced a few challenges.I have 3 units and made the appointment to service 2 and repair 1. The technician said he only had time to do one unit when he got here.Also, I asked for a quote to repair the older unit and another for replacing it. I only received 1 of the 2 quotes I asked for. Finally, once I approved the quote to repair the unit, I never heard back from them about scheduling the repair. After a few days I reached out to them and was told the part had been ordered and they would schedule the repair when it came in. That was almost a week ago now.Usually their work is fantastic. Im definitely disappointed.

I have had a rough time with this new AC that GVEC put in, they have come out quite a few times now. This recent visit brought Brandin to my door. I think we finally have a solution to this long standing issue. It was obvious Brandin was on top of his game . Top notch trouble shooting skills. Parts are on order and I’ll update this review when we are finally fixed.Update…Brandin correctly diagnosed a difficult problem on a new complicated AC/heat pump system. It’s been a least a week and it’s working as good as new, maybe better. GVEC! he deserves a raise and he should be training other techs. I had at least three other techs here that couldn’t take care of the problem. It went on longer than it should have.Thanks Brandin Pittman for stellar work!To be fair I had a tech here before Brandin named Joe? who it sounds like nailed the problem down. Thanks go to him to.8-1-24 update…Brandin strikes again, fixed again.I think GVEC has been out to my house twelve times now. This unit was installed 12/20 I believe. GVEC has been great no complaints with them but Champion has lost me!I have actually had to buy window units what else can I say. Is there a lemon law for AC?Did I say Brandin is great a deserves a raise!!!Listen up GVEC…

Technician Brittany arrived on time and conducted a thorough assessment of our heating/ac system, including photos. She was knowledgeable and professional in conducting her review. She changed out our filter and offered an estimate on additional services for us to consider. We couldn’t be happier with Brittany’s work, as we have been with all prior GVEC technicians, and extend a thank you to her and GVEC for their great service.

Tech came in accessed the situation in and then went outside, came back and told me what he found. He fixed the problem and couldnt have been more pleasant. I asked questions about display panel, he answered and made suggestions. Good public relations for GVEC.

I have been speaking to everyone about my amazing experience with GVEC. I came home 13 June at 8:50 to discover my air was out and it was 87 degrees in my home. I called GVEC after hours at 9:03, Brandon called me at 9:07 and arrived 9:30. He left the house at 9:55 and my problem was resolved! It was worth the $180.00 service call and $95.00 part! Here is a complete opposite true story. I called Sequin GVEC a few days ago, to schedule a technician to check out my breaker to my washing machine. It trip and I flipped it back, but the little red light is still on. The receptionist transferred me to another girl, that girl transferred me to a third person, a young girl. She told me it would cost $376.00 ( it was over $300) to have a technician check it out. I could not believe what I was hearing!!!! A service call of $180.00 for after hours, last week and for a scheduled appointment for an electrician to come to my house is over $300.00! That is insane and I will not be using GVEC for what I believe is a minor problem! I explained thus to the 3rd young lady and she said, yes that would be your cost for a certified electricians appointment. Something does not sound right!

Showed up on time, called ahead as expected. Worked quickly and efficiently, got the job done! Good job!

My technician, Gunner, came out today, and quickly found the source of my AC problem, a bad board in the unit. He was knowledgeable, courteously, and went to work fast. He is ordering the new board, and will install it, as soon as it arrives. Great service!

Misdiagnosis of mini split cooling system. Brandin said the compressor was bad and we should buy a new unit. $8k. We got a second opinion and we just had a Freon leak.

I called GVEC when our AC went out, the lady I spoke to was very sweet and helpful, they were able to get a technician after hours to come out and take a look at our unit. He came by about an hour after I called and quickly fixed our unit. He answered all of my questions. I was very impressed and thankful that he got our unit running in this 100< degree weather.

I used GVEC Home Services to fix my AC due to the fan not turning after a long hot day. GVEC sent out one of their best employees Adrian M. - he was professional, courteous, prompt, friendly. Adrian knew exactly what the problem was within 2 minutes of arriving. He gave me a couple of options and HE HAD THE PART ALREADY! YES. HE HAD IT ON THE VAN. I couldnt believe it. Our AC went out on our year-old unit on 16 Sep around 5 pm. Thermostat was reading 85 in house..I dont even know what the temperature was outside but it sure felt cooler than inside. I called GVEC Home at 604 PM to ask for help. Received response fm Adrian at 611PM. We talked about issue to see if it was something with thermostat.. after discussing the problem we decided to have someone out the same day. My spouse and I are both in our 70s and both have handicap issues. It so happened I had a medical procedure on 12 sept which had some bad side effects that lasted for days.. Adrian said he could be here in 30 min and we agreed. He was. I met him outside where he had a smile and a hello. He came in, checked everything and found the problem within 10 min.. always with a smile on his face. I would definitely give him 10 (if I could) stars for his timing, his work ethics, and his great personality and smile. Sadly you only let him have 5 🌟 . GVEC has done a wonderful job installing my new 4 ton air conditioner. Their men were very capable and kept everything clean while removing the old units. I will recommend them highly.

Brandin arrived when we were told he would. He was very professional and thorough in his assessing of our potential ac issues. The work to be done and the price is within reason. Definitely would recommend them.Followup on the above mentioned ac repair. Brandin had a very difficult task of getting to the coils to clean them but he made it happen and did a great job as well as cleanup afterwards. Highly recommend!

Blake did everything he could to repair my a/c. Unfortunately the compressor is out and it is 98 degrees in my home. Blake was professional and kind. Thank goodness we are only in our 60s or my wife and I may not have made it through the night. I am happy that GVEC loaned us some window units to help combat the heat. I can’t wait for our to be cooled down with our a/c unit we purchased from GVEC.

Customer service is always top notch and technicians are always very knowledgeable and answer any and all questions I have. Just wish the equipment itself was strong enough to battle the heat. Seems like the heat is winning and temp upstairs only cools off at night. overall experience was great though.

Technician kept me informed of his schedule and when to expect him. He had a big list of jobs, but worked me in on his way home even though it put him after midnight getting home.He was very knowledgeable and quickly got the problem solved. Well, not what I had expected or hoped would remedy the problem! The techs were great, knew what needed to be done; however, they did not have the correct tools to complete the job. And a part to bleed the lineswas faulty. This indicates we will be waiting till a future time to complete the service. Consequently we will be without AC during one of the hottest weeks inJune! Not Happy!

Our upstairs system finally went out after 24 years. Called them on Monday and had new system installed on Friday. Very professional service and prompt response from the salesman. 3 years interest free financing. Can’t go wrong with these guys for your A/C installation needs.

We are so happy we chose GVEC to install our new A/C unit. Everyone was so courteous, friendly and experienced. We had been without A/C for two days. The supervisor brought a window unit so we would have some relief from the heat. He was concerned and very attentive. The installers arrived on time, they worked all day in the heat. They were courteous, friendly and very experienced. We just cant say how much we appreciate what GVEC has done for us. The installers explained the new thermostat, the new filters and the warranty. Technician Rudy Molina was very professional and friendly. He introduced himself upon arrival and went right to work checking the thermostat. The thermostat actually needs to be replaced so I asked him to see if he could come back for the installation of the new thermostat. He said he would ask. I have always been very pleased with GVEC services.

We had some major issues with a complicated AC unit. From my first call to GVEC about this we had great customer Service. Then when the technician came out he was great. He had to come out multiple times due to the complexity of the unit and I know he was frustrated. He was very professional and friendly. Once they received the parts they ordered, they saw we didnt need them all and saved us money instead of using them all and charging us (we would have never known) but they were honest. I will ALWAYS reccomend them.

Have had continuous issues with my new system. Have had several techs come work on it but they have not been able to correct the problem. Currently showing 67% humidity inside when the outside humidity is 35%. Temp has been set at 72 but it’s still not comfortable.

They replaced a system that came with our home which was half the size it needed to be. After 11 years of a poorly-installed, mismatched system, we finally have what’s we need! There are probably cheaper people out there, but they were professional and worth every penny.

I had been quoted a ridiculous price for warranty labor from the original installer of my 5 year old unit. GVEC Air Team was on my issue within 7 hours at the third of the price. Cassidy and Joey took outstanding care of our family at a reasonable price from first phone call to drive away.

Had an appointment to get an estimate for my AC system over a month ago. Was called and notified that my appointment was moved to the following Thursday..... no one from GVEC called or came by on that Thursday of the inspection of my system so...... I did not bother to follow up.. Im still in need of an estimate for replacement... will change my rating if they manage to respond to my review....

I believe the crew that replaced our heat pump system on 12 Nov, were out of Seguin. The crew did an excellent job in installing the units and explained the system to me at the conclusion. Good hard workers and on a cold, damp and windy day too. Recommend highly.

They do a great job at getting your business and they have good programs such as 0% financing sometimes to help lessen the sting of having to buy a new hvac unit. Once they sell you the unit however, thats when customer service goes right down the toilet. I spent over $8000 for my new unit a year and a half ago and have had nothing but problems with it. Every time it stops working and I call GVEC to come look at it there is ALWAYS a 4-5 day wait to get a tech out there. They will happily get someone out there same day for the $120 after hours fee. Sometimes offering to pay the fee even doesn’t work though. Also, they have people in the office who aren’t hvac techs telling you that nothing is wrong with your unit even after you tell them it runs for 2 hours to change the temperature 1 degree. I guess I will have to just start calling another hvac company and eat the labor costs, even though my unit is still under warranty, in order to get some timely service.

Called last night to their emergency number and leave a recording. Person calls me back and I was assuming it was a Tech. This was a Sunday and 100 degree day and my A/C had gone out. Tech tells me the prices for just the call, I say that is fine. He then proceeds to tell me he is going on a call and will come to my place after that call. This occurred at 7:00 PM at night. I am thinking ok. He should be out here no later than 9:00PM. He calls me back at 11:30. What a joke. Worst service call ever. I will never do business with them again. Being they are my electric provider and offer these services, you think it would be managed better than that.

GVEC was quick to send out a rep to evaluate the cost of installing an air conditioner and heating system. 10 days later I am still waiting for the estimate. I expected to hear from them last week.

The serviceman was very pleasant and helpful giving us quotes for new units because ours has been freezing up. However he left our thermostat set at 69 when he left which caused it to freeze up and water to back up inside.

Simply put - GVEC provided the best product for the pest price. I got 5 quotes. Interesting that for one of the quotes, when I told them GVECs price, they suddenly knocked $10,000 off of their price. They were still $1,000 over GVEC, but I sure felt sorry for those folks that used the other vendor and paid full price.

Cannot afford charges made by GVEC. When compared with other A/C companies in my area, they are WAY out of line, plus other companies give Senior discounts and do not charge just to make a service call. GVEC charged $150 to check A/C unit, another company charged $70 & gave a 10% senior discount. Will NEVER call GVEC again for A/C servicing or repairs. It is GVEC, not their Serv. Techs Im complaining about.
