My installation of a full AC/heat system was a very pleasant experience, the two professionals who installed were very kind and did a excellent job! When they were finished, they made sure to clean everything as if they were never there! Thank you to those gentlemen and thank you to the wonderful lady at GVEC who walked me through the entire financial process to complete this job successfully! Thank you GVEC

If I could give zero I would. We had a new ac unit installed in 2020 and have had nothing but issues since. Newest issue is mold everywhere around it and are being told over $3000 in repairs to the system are needed and the supposed warranty wont cover any of it. Nothing but huge run around and problems with this company!

Regarding technicians ONLY! Our techs were outstanding and did a great job. However, I notice that GVEC techs don’t clean up afterwards. Aside from that, great technicians knowledgeable of heat/ac repair and troubleshooting. Hope we get them again.

From the initial install to the follow up inspections Brittney continues to do great work. Consummate professional, she is always welcome in my home.Great Job GVEC for having people like Brittney on your team!

Abraham was very professional and courteous. He did a thorough inspection and reported all his findings clearly and concisely. He also made recommendations to improve the unit’s performance. He was very easy to talk to and had a pleasant demeanor.

GEVC came out and fix the air conditioning part of my brand new air-conditioning system. That’s only two years old, but they were unable to fix the heating part of the system. So I haven’t heard back as to when that’s going to be done but the air conditioning part is working well now and just don’t have the heating part Working right. The gentleman was kind, courteous, respectful. And can fix what he was able to fix. He needed a more senior person to come fix the heating part that’s still not working.

GVEC service rep (Joe Gonzales) came to check my HVAC system because the A/C had stopped cooling. Informed me that it had leaked out all the Freon, so we discussed options; I.e., buy a new system (mine is 15 years old & on it’s last leg), or charge it with Freon. I opted for the latter for now. He did not pressure me at all, which I appreciated. He was very courteous and wore shoe covers when entering my house, which I also appreciated. Great job, GVEC!

The technician arrived at the door step at 9:25 and done at 10:20. She was there Less than hour but we were charged for whole two hours. We agreed to pay their hourly rate but I can’t believe GVEC will robbed us like that and that is not right at all. This put a bad taste in my mouth and will not trust their honest service after this experience. They take advantage of their customers and hope they realized that.

To save yourself some grief choose anywhere but GVEC. I had a new system (approx $10,000) installed less than 4 years ago and every change of season it is inoperable. I have spent hundreds if not thousands in repairs since installation. Technicians have zero knowledge in troubleshooting and will quote you for unnecessary repairs. They take no accountability and could care less that the equipment they installed is absolutely worthless.

Tech was much quicker than other techs that came out. As usual something always seems to happen after service is completed. Now every so often my carpet in hall where my unit is becomes ice cold as well as the unit. Seems like cool air coming through the vent and when I remove my ac filter it’s like opening a deep freezer. I can feel the cool air and see the mist air coming from the unit and the unit is off. The service before this I had to replace the electrical box outside that all the sudden quit working after the tech left and of course I had to pay for that repair. Seriously considering getting another service company.

Abraham G. did an outstanding job! Our heat pump went out on the coldest night of the year. Abraham came out at 9:30 at night, diagnosed the problem and actually had the parts on the truck. Despite the frigid temps, he fixed the problem. We cant thank him enough!

Using GVEC for service bi-annually has been the best thing we do. They installed the 2 Hvac units, service them and they are running great. No problems for over 9 years. Very satisfied.

He has been to our house before and always completed the work. The problem was the main circuit breaker for this upstairs HVAC. He came in Tuesday and on Thursday the system went out again I reset the circuit breaker again and so far it hasn’t tripped again.

This was a great experience from Larry coming to give me a quote to George going the install. Very polite, explained everything very clearly, and cleaned up afterwards. I highly recommend GVEC

Eric M. has been sent by GVEC to my home twice now. Once for service, once for an issue. Both times he was so professional, friendly, and got the job done. He informed me of what needed to be done, and repaired and was upfront about the cost. They were quick efficient and friendly. But...they hooked up one part wrong, overdid it on the pipe sealant and wound up making it impossible for the unit to effectively drain. The next day the next crew came, found the problems and had it back up and running in a few hours. Now the unit runs like a dream.

I really appreciated Brittany helping me out and taking the time to explain everything in detail so that I would (mostly!) understand.

Firstly, I have never written a negative review for any service or product. That said, if there was an option to leave negative stars, I would. 18 months ago we paid more than $14,000 dollars for a new A/C. An enormous out of pocket expense and investment. The unit failed for the first time a few months later on the FIRST day of warm weather. The technician that came out, who was a field manager, told us that he was embarrassed by how terribly it was installed–completely incorrect installation–and needs to be totally rebuilt were his words–later GVEC said he was incorrect in his assessment and refused to redo any of the work. At this point, the unit has failed 5 or 6 times and for various reasons; failed parts, filled up with water, electrical failure, installation issues, etc. At this point we have spent weeks without a working A/C in the Texas heat. We would have been much better off just using the 15 year old broken unit that was installed before.This was been the single worst consumer experience of my life. We are seeking legal action, since GVEC does not stand behind their work or products sold. We even paid for service plan and warranty, but that has made little difference. I would only trust small independently owned companies from now on. These big behemoth companies only want to make the sell and then do as little as possible for the customer once the check is written.

The technician (Nathan) was on-time, had a positive and professional attitude. He quickly identified the issue and replaced the part needed to get my system cooling again. Im very satisfied with the service provided.

WOW, I am really impressed with the excellent work, installing my new heat pump. Trevor, Joe and Ricardo did a fantastic job! They even repaired structural damage from previous people. Professional, didnt waste time. Courteous informative. Was willing to go the extra mile to get it right. He kept at it until he finally found where the blockage was at. Once he discovered that there was a problem with the air leaking out of the system he found two leaks from when it was installed. And fix them Plus he did a very good job with a sealing up what he didnt know needed to be sealed up the last time.Abraham Gonzalez was courteous and very helpful. Called for a commercial HVAC quote. Within a couple of hours GVEC had someone reviewing our systems to prepare a quote.

Not happy paying 180.00 for a loose wire especially when the company did the install. Other than that very happy with my repair man and staff. Management?? Not so much.

Including installation.Ive had the semi-annual checkups with GVEC for decades. The employees are very knowledgeable and polite. No reason for me to switch to anyone else.Gets here within the appointment time or early, tells me how my system is working or what needs to be done to keep it at optimal condition.Thats adds up to a peace of mind GVEC always supplies.

I am so happy I found this company. They are local and have operated in Guadalupe County since the 1930s. Luckily for me they recently expanded their service area to include Bexar County. First I contracted the company to do electrical work in my house. All their electricians are licensed. More recently I contracted GVEC to installed a new HVAC SYSTEM in my home. I couldn’t be more pleased. Their employees are clean cut mostly young well trained professionals. They are just wonderful. This is a high quality well run company. If you find yourself in need of electrical or HVAC services you will not be disappointed if you call GVEC.

Came on time. Did the maintenance. Told me all checked out good. Then two days later I get an estimate/invoice for “needed” condensation line replacement for $716. So is this a major rip off attempt or poor maintenance?

Zero stars at this point. My family is very disappointed in the entire process. We have paid over $2000 for repairs and still do not have a working A/C system. Originally, when the unit failed, we called GVEC and another company to come out for a repair estimate. Both companies gave similar estimates indicating the same repairs, for a similar price, so we chose GVEC. We called them to come out, and they did not do the repairs indicated on the original invoice and stated that the guy who wrote it is no longer with the company and that he was wrong. GVEC has been in our home three times now since the New Year, and each time we had hoped they would straighten out the problem, but instead we got a different story about why the unit is not working. Today, for $215, we learned that it would cost another $2000+ for further repairs. At this point, it is very clear that the techs have caused more damage than there originally was. This has been a huge disappointment and a waste of our hard earned money. I wish I had called the other guy because I would be sitting in a home with working A/C right now. I could have gotten ripped off by anybody but I wasnt expecting it from GVEC because they have been so highly recommended to me by several people. To say that I am extremely disappointed is an understatement.

Updating the below initial review and raising to 3 stars-Later on in the day, I received a call from a dispatcher who made it right and sent a tech out same day after business hours for no additional charge. The tech arrived earlier than expected, was very friendly, thorough, explained the issue he found and was able to repair on the spot. Thank you GVEC for making it right, not sure if it was my complaint, the review below, or a genuine realization that it was a bit ridiculous not being able to confirm a tech for several days out but either way, the AC is back up and running. I hope that a bigger priority can be put on service calls in the future, South TX is too hot to be without AC for days on end wondering when someone will be available.If you need a quick replacement at a good price theyre your people but dont let their good warranty be your deciding factor like I did. If you ever need a warranty repair, youll be waiting multiple days for a tech with no AC. Apparently they concentrate on selling and installing new systems and making existing customers with a warranty wait it out for days if you want to take advantage of their warranty. Its not even hot outside yet and theyre days behind on warranty calls? Cant imagine how long the wait would be in July

Eric is intentional and focused. He systematically went through the thermostat and the wiring at the air handler. He called in to the office(?) to brainstorm, and, under the “two heads are better than one” philosophy, a second technician came out. He supported verification of the issue and the solution.

We used GVEC to install a new AC unit in our home, which replaced the 10 year old unit that came with it. Initially, the service was great. However, it declined pretty quickly about 6 months in. Our unit was installed in May 2019 and has not been working quite right since. For nearly 2 years, we have been trying to get GVEC to fix our brand new unit that we paid $10,000 for. We have had countless AC techs come out to service it and take a look and none of them know how to fix it. One of those techs also did something and forgot to put a part back or take a part off (idk as I’m not familiar with these things) but right after they left and had fiddled with the unit, our ceiling began to leak which caused water and paint damage to the ceiling itself. They only came to undo the damage directly related to the unit itself and never offered to take care of the ceiling damage which was a direct result of their negligence. That’s besides the point, though, as that is minor compared to everything else. As I said, all of the techs that have come out don’t know how to get the unit working properly again. We were told we needed a new part, and as one reviewer mentioned above, went through the same process of waiting and waiting on the warehouse and then an available time to come out, which totaled several months when all said and done. When the tech finally did come, it turned out we didn’t even need that part and that they ordered the wrong part and someone would call. No one ever calls! Then someone else came and told us we don’t need a part but that the zoning board was messed up…another tech told us our unit isnt working as efficiently as it should be. They all say something different, but the one constant is that it’s screwed the heck up. The last we heard, the superintendent himself would come to our home to figure the issue out. He never came and when we called to follow-up, we were told that he is no long with gvec. As a result, the process started over again and that someone would be in touch. Guess what? No one called! Our electricity bills for the last two months have been over $600 and more expensive than they ever were with our old unit since we’ve had this new unit installed. My advice would be to stay as far away from this company as you can. They take advantage of their customers and refuse to provide the service you pay for. We have a $10,000 piece of junk in our attic that will never work properly until we get a new one or pay another company to fix or replace. Just remember, 2 years! It’s insane that we still have no resolution after all this time.

Both Joe and Brandon were excellent. They identified the problem and ensured it was fixed. Took their time to explain and show us what was wrong and how it was fixed. Very happy with their work.

Best price and they have great service that they stand behind. No reason to use one of the overpriced local companies that spend millions on advertising. GVEC is a local treasure.

Just had a new A/C unit installed. I would have given them 5 stars, but the installation was a little rocky & it stopped working shortly after they left. It was after-hours on a Friday evening, so I called the emergency line. I wasnt very optimistic about receiving service that evening, but I got a call back within minutes, not only from a tech, but the service manager, as well. The technician, Abraham, was super nice, and very professional and knowledgeable.He quickly determined what the installation guys had missed on the first go round. He worked his magic & we finally had cold air a short time later! He is an absolute doll, and Im so thankful for him. They definitely took care of us. This Texas heat aint no joke!

I purchased my AC Champion unit from GVEC in Oct 2020 and Im still making my payments. My unit stopped working yesterday May 9, and according to GVEC the part (Fan motor) is not stocked so it has to be ordered. No firm date only an estimate. Probably 4-5 days. If your elderly like me and my wife this is not the service we expected from GVEC. There salesman never told us that this would happen if you have an outage.

The technician, Brittany, called ahead to let me know she was available early if I was. She arrived a few minutes later and was thorough about checking all possible sources of the problem and attending to each. Within a couple of hours, she’d inspected and repaired all the components necessary and thoroughly cleaned her work area. As always, GVEC service is top notch.Updated 16 May 2024After a follow up call from technician Abraham, today, he immediately came out to the house and inspected all the AC components to determine the cause of recurring intermittent power issues. He discovered and remedied the issue, also identifying potential future upgrades. Very satisfied with GVEC and technician Abraham’s work. Response time is excellent.

First off, let me say I appreciate him coming early in the morning right at 0800. As a night shifter I definitely needed early appointment times because I try to sleep a little between 10-12 before going to work at Lackland. Brandin identified almost immediately my issue with the heat kit (contact/ground issue). He left me with working heat and explained the scenario that was causing the system breakers to pop. He disconnected the faulty component and promised to give me an estimate. He also cleaned and retaped the insulation onto the front panel of the inside part of the unit. I really appreciate his professionalism and will ask for him if possible if we actually repair the issue. Thank you Brandin!

Great furst experience with my GVEC maintenance tech Rudy. Rudy explained all he was going to do and did an assessment where everything was initially . I found him to be very personable , friendly Courteous professional and knowledgeable .He sat and throughly reviewed all aspects of the inside and outside unit and functioning . Any aspects with deficits he explained how it would affect the AC functioning illustrating it with picks so i could better understand . You could truly sense he’s very proud and thorough about what he does and satisfying that the customer understands all. BEWARE! The minimum you will be charged is $215! It’s $120 for the service fee (agree they should be compensated for their time to drive), but regardless of the fix, the lowest charge in their system is $95. It was a 10 min fix (loose wire on a thermostat), so the least amount you will pay for them to arrive is $215. With many other high quality repair companies in the area, consider using a different company.

My technician was beyond awesome. Abraham was working after hours on 4 of July Eve. At 9:35 pm I called GVEC Because I noticed that water was running from the AC system to my front door, which isn’t supposed to happen. He looked up the records and determined that that same problem happened a month before. Not only did Abraham show up at my house within the hour. He also fixed a problem and didn’t charge me an emergency service fee so I’m very happy.

Abraham came right away. I signed an estimate of repair. Part was to ordered 1st thing Tuesday. At 1045 part not ordered, it was day 6 no AC. Cancelled bc someone coming to repair with parts needed. GVEC technicians have been 5 stars, scheduling a 2-3 stars. It takes at least 2 weeks to get scheduled. I’m sure it’s lack of personnel

Rudy has Good customer service skills. Punctual. Knowledgeable. Careful.What is NOT Rudy s fault is the young man who installed our new system last spring/summer. He neglected to use the existing straps to hold up the duct which contributed to the duct falling and the disconnect of the duct. Shame on that young man, not on Rudy.rudy is good.

Christian did a thorough check and he found a leak in the duct that is connected at the output of the closet unit. He included it in his report. After I received a quote for the repair, I sent a text to GVEC explaining that this is apparently an original installation problem and that the repair should be made by GVEC at no cost to me. I have asked 3 times to have a manager phone me about this, and each time the operator says they are in a meeting or unavailable, but that they will phone me later. However, no manager has yet to contact me! Do I need to write to CEO Daren Schafer as I am loosing a lot of cooling air directly in my closet rather than into my home. Your own website says that you stand behind your work, and I hope that this is indeed true. Please have a manager contact me early next week.

I called because our a/c went out and didnt think theyd be able to get out until Wednesday. I understood with the holiday. A few hours later, I was surprised to receive a text that our technician was on his way. Everything was fixed and ready to go within a few hours. So impressed with the service!

Abraham and Erin were amazing. Our install of the ac left much to be desired. Abraham did not do the install. Another team did. The job felt a bit rushed, and we wound up with some plumbing issues and thermostats issues that were not acceptable for us. At initial install the team replumbed the drain line thru our secondary and left us with pvc throughout our porch. It was a mess. If things had been left the way they were I would have been completely dissatisfied with gvec for ac service and would not recommend. Abraham and Erin came to the rescue time and again. I can’t thank them enough for their responsiveness and correcting all our issues. He came out replumbed to our liking, and found a suitable solution to the thermostats. Erin was amazing getting back to us and working with us on financing as well. There was a bit extra cost for the fixes but reasonable and understandable. The overall pricing on the unit was also one of the best bids we found and they worked with us to match any similar offers.

The initial rerouting of our newly installed HVAC drainage system wasn’t performed by the technician who recommended and specified how the end product would perform long term...it left an undesirable drainage issue on the exterior of the home; however, I was fortunate the original technician was reassigned and reworked the plumbing lines as he initially explained it and created a more functional and professional end product which left us extremely grateful and satisfied with no additional out of pocket cost…

Had problems with the system but GVEC was responsive and continued until the problem was solved.

My bi-annual HVAC service found bacteria throughout my ductwork due to holes and leaks. Abraham showed me the issues on video taken during the inspection. He most likely found why our family has been experiencing a huge increase in allergy problems, as well as the reason for higher energy bills. Great job by Abraham Gonzalez.

GVEC is only getting 5 stars because of Abraham! He came out and fixed the issue that was not properly done at Installation 3 months ago. We had 2 technicians come out twice on 2 different occasions for a cooling issue and it seems like both times technicians never looked at the settings for the blower. It was set for a 2ton unit when all along we have a 5ton unit. Abraham is my hero. Its not over.....Ill be calling

Whew! We have a freeze coming and our heat quit working. We are so grateful for the quick response and the excellent service. We know we have an older system and were glad there was no hard sell to replace it right now.

Yike’s! I forgot to hit SEND the last time! This review is on GVEC HVAC technician Aaron Cheatham. He was amazing. He diagnosed the problem with our HVAC even further and found another part of the issue keeping it from running. He explained it’s like peeling back an onion sometimes and hidden issues can pop up. When we saw one of the parts, we were very glad he uncovered it as it could have caused a fire due to it being so overheated and brittle. Another thoughtful thing Aaron did knowing we would be waiting for the part, was to offer to provide window a A/C unit. That was totally unexpected though much appreciated. Thankfully, we had already borrowed one from a friend and explained perhaps another GVEC customer could use it. The part was ordered and we know he and all at GVEC Heating and Air Conditioning have our backs!

Had two techs show up to install a totally new system and they had it done quicker than I expected. They were both very professional, friendly and courteous throughout the approximate eight hours they were at our home. They were a good team with one of them primarily replacing the inside unit and the other the outside unit, but didnt hesitate to give each other a hand as needed. After numerous companies turned me away for wanting a whole home integrated dehumidifier, GVEC stepped up. Not only did they entertain my request, they listened to exactly what I needed and committed. They came out for multiple follow-ups to ensure the system was integrated and functioning as expected, per my request as this was a complicated install. They were reasonably priced as well. I’m very satisfied. They were the 7th or 8th call I made, but will be my first here on.

My A/C went out on the week of the hottest days of the year so far. I contacted GVEC, they scheduled me for first available service hour visit, and service tech arrived diagnosed problem and made repairs. The visit and repairs were covered under warranty.

They responded quickly for a quote, and then offered another quote when I expressed a desire for another. They followed up consistently, until the install day. Sufficient technicians arrived early enough in the day to completely replace the heat pump system, inside and out. The techs were careful to protect carpets at all times. Techs explained clearly the operation and maintenance of the new system.

I have to echo what a few others have said. The people you will speak with on the phone are pleasant and the technicians are knowledgeable. However, should you need a repair you will wait, and wait, and wait. My unit is less than a year old and not working. After calling I had to wait about ten days for an appointment. During the appointment I was told a part needed to be replaced and the technician told me it could take another two days or two weeks to receive the part. After waiting two weeks I called. I was told by the person I spoke with she was going to call the warehouse to check the status and get back to me. Nope. So I gave it a few days and called again today. Again, the person on the phone was pleasant and helpful and said she would look into it. And she did. Shortly after speaking with her I got a call informing me that they have scheduled me for an appointment on July 8th. Thats two weeks from today, nearly a month since my first appointment, which was June 10, and well over a month since I first contacted them. I dont know if this is the industry norm, but Im guessing not.

GVEC I installed our new AC and heating system a couple months back. The product quality and the price were the best at the time. They have been very responsive however we still have some unresolved issues. But their willingness to work through is the reason why I give it four stars. I have also recommended them to some of my realtors, Real estate investors and friends.

We purchased our new AC through GVEC in Sep 19. Everyone we work with is friendly and professional. We have made 2 service calls in 7 months. The first because a part of the outside condenser needed to be replaced. The second because the air plenum was detaching from the air handler unit in the attic. Both times the service guys were great. They let us know when they were on the way and kept us informed of what was wrong. Very friendly and good work!

Today, June 28, 2024, Mr. Ryan Pitman performed work on our A/C compressor unit licated outdoors. He replaced faulty parts which he had previously diagnosed two weeks for needing replacement.Since our house was built in January, 1999, the thermostat was installed downstairs. It is widely known that heat travels upward. Therefore, it has always been warmer upstairs than downstairs which has caused us some uncomfortable sleeping experiences at times.For the past 25 years, no GVEC has determined, nor suggested, to relocate the thermstat upstairs where the indoor climate is the warmest in order to make for more efficient cooling of the upstairs. Ryan did, and today, he relocated the thermostat upstairs. Hopefully, this will soon prove to be the best possible solution to our upstairs warm conditions.Our thanks goes out to Mr. Ryan Pitman for his knowledgeable and quality service. We hope he will be permanently assigned to work on our HVAC system unless, of course, he gets promoted soon to a mangerial position. The repairman repaired our air conditioning unit that had quit cooling. His work was quick and professional. The one problem I have, is even though it was a Sunday, $560.00 seems a bit much for 20 minutes work and the replacement of a $20.00 part

Christian came out and checked my unit, and found the capacitor had died. He replaced it and checked it and that was all that was needed. I was afraid my 14 year old unit had totally died, but no, a very reasonably priced replacement part , and all is well. Another good reason I love my GVEC co-op.

Trying to transfer warranty of a one year old system into my name (New owner). This is made into a difficult process to prevent owners from transferring warranty. They know exactly when and where they installed system and should honor continued warranty. I still have to fill out more paperwork (some info I may not have) and include $50 in my mail in request. Cannot do it from service provider who installed their system. Just a step to try to get out of the warranty buy this provider.Update: 6 months later this heat pump stopped working (Champion system installed by GVEC). After multiple attempts over a period of 2 months the fan motor was discovered to be dragging and replaced. Wish I would have paid that $50 for the warranty transfer. But I did not have all the paperwork either since I was not original purchaser. Ugh.
