Company not reliable. Call to schedule a service of my unit back in December 19, 2024 and as today, January 27, 2025, have yet to hear back from them. Unit went out and I had to call another company to repair, because not only did they not return my call, they didn’t even respond to a text message, which I was advise if I couldn’t reach them by phone to text them. That was a joke. So I decided to cancel my service contract with them. Good luck to those who are still utilizing this company.
Getting a new system through cowboy cooling is one of the biggest regrets of my adult life. They got their money late October and didn’t install until late February with little to no communication. Almost 17k for a system that they were not knowledgeable of and had to make multiple visits to change several things after install. It would usually take at least a week to get an answer or even response about when they’d come do another change. Pure frustration since day 1. In the end the system did not fix the issue that we were promised it would and they did not follow through with a dehumidifier that, again, we were promised. They cut off all communication with me after saying they’d put us in contact with someone who might be able to help. Also found out Robert does not have an active HVAC license. Don’t use this company
Beware of this company. They do not deserve a star at all. Had this company come do ductwork for me and their team did not install it properly. The issue I had before they came got worse. After they installed the duct my house started smelling moldy/musty, humidity in my house got up to 78%. I called Lacey several times and always got an excuse from her. The owner also blocked my number. They are not answering or returning my calls. I spent $3500 with this highly incompetent company. I had to call someone else out to fix their mess.
Very professional and knowledgeable 🎉was very thorough and explained everything to me. Very punctual and fabulous customer service! Robert and Lacey went above and beyond to helping us see exactly what needs to be done in the new house we are purchasing! I called and needed them to come give me a quote and they were there the next morning! Very fast and efficient! I cant say enough about this company! I would highly recommend Cowboy Cooling!
I have a service plan with yall and it was missed. I pay a yearly service contract. Ive attempted to call numerous times because my last scheduled appointment was missed but Ive had no rely back. Please refund me my payment.

He was able to inspect the unit, troubleshoot the issue quickly and even assisted with calling Home Warranty back to set up the second service call to make the proposed repair. Thanks again!
Great company! Came out and did maintenance on my 2 older ac units. Thomas told me some valuable suggestions that need to be addressed in the future, and some potential issues that may arise this coming summer. Offered valuable insight without trying to push a new unit or unnecessary repairs, like some companies try to do. I definitely would recommend them!
The gentleman was courteous but the service was not professional. The repair of the A/C compressor fan motor looked like it was pieced together like an elementary school project or a quick duck taping rigging; see pics attached for reference. As a prior electrical professional in the military and a HVAC & Plumbing Project Manager one knows you would never leave wires exposed to the elements, doing so would only invite additional troubles. I will have to have another professional who truly knows and is certified to properly repair HVAC systems - so double the money for what should have been an easy repair.As additional proof of claim for others to be knowledgeable; the HVAC community has posted the following information for consumers with regard to exposed wiring on outside A/C equipment:AC Issues You’ll Want To Address In Residential HVAC RepairExposed WiringYour air conditioner typically has a split system, housing a section indoor and another one outdoors. Fair price and excellent customer service!! Had Thomas, stop by and provide maintenance on my AC unit. He was extremely knowledgeable and communicated very well with me the whole time everything that he did. He provided recommendations on how to take care of my system no extra charge. I would highly recommend this company very happy with the service.
Thomas was by far one of the nicest and understanding HVAC techs I have ever had to work with. Super knowledgeable and was even willing to show me some simple preventative maintenance actions I can do myself. I will definitely be using Cowboy Cooling & Home Services again in the future.
I’m so glad a friend of mine referred me to Cowboy cooling. My ac system went out on Tuesday after 31 years and I decided it was time for a new system. Robert came out on Tuesday shortly after my call and designed a completely new heating and cooling system for my older house. By Saturday afternoon I had a brand new AC system in my house. Everyone involved (carpenter, plumber, and hvac guys) were very professional and did an awesome job! Thank you Cowboy Cooling!
The HVAC system in my 1940s home presented some unique challenges. I interviewed a variety of vendors with a wide range of opinions on what I needed. Robert went above and beyond to educate me on the HVAC basics and provided concise options to replace my full system with estimates that were not the lowest but certainly not the highest. Following job approval, Robert resolved a supply chain challenge by substituting a better condenser with no price increase and no change to install date. The subcontractors worked all day to finish the job even through pouring rain. I attribute a couple of communication hiccups to the holiday weekend and perhaps company growing pains. Anyway, I highly recommened you give Cowboy Cooling an opportunity to bid on your HVAC full system replacement.
Horrible!! Wouldn’t recommend!!!! I used to work with Robert burger and he would basically try to push me to sell people stuff they wouldn’t need like contractors and compositors cheap easy fixes but didn’t need to be fixed he just wanted extra money. Robert paid me only one time for the time I was working for him he has still yet to give me my money for my last pay check (court and police are involved). This is a sorry junk yard buisness.
David was our tech, showed up on time and it didn’t take him long to diagnose the issue and repair it. He gave great recommendations I hadn’t thought of, showed instrument readings and he was well versed on our system. Also helped with filter on indoor unit as a courtesy. Overall great experience, was done quick, professional and would definitely recommend. If we have any other issues Cowboy Cooling would be our first call!

Well apparently when the A/C tech left a few days later I had problems with my A/C quite naturally. So I tried to call them. And had a very hard time getting ahold of the A/C company. Well by this time I called someone else. The A/C tech after opening the door of the unit up in the addic when he finished he didnt put it all the way back on. Well there is a safety cut off when that happens. Also he had the safety cut off when pan fills up pinched in the door as well. Im not an A/C specialist. So I spent another $125.00 for Dayton Electric to come out and figure this out all because they were too busy to answer the phone so I could see if they could come out today or Saturday. Wow not a happy camper. They advertise on Facebook clean out the a/c coils Well they didnt even take it apart to do it. They tried to sell me a maintenance program over $450.00 a year when the one around here charges $179.00. People stay away from sales on Facebook this is the 2nd time I got had. The tech said I was 2 pounds low on freon I was supposed to only pay $59.00 for him to clean out the coils and he didnt even do it right. I ended up paying $259.00 and gave him a $20.00 tip. Notice how they will only reply if they werent the company that did the work but if they did do the work they dont reply to all 1 star reviews. They replied to someone in Dallas we are sorry but we dont have you in our records.
On Monday, March 4, 2024 we had Cowboy Cooling come to our home to do our bi-annual service as well as obtain a quote to have our attic duct work replaced. Upon receiving the quotes, my husband questioned the 2 options so we could make our best choice. My husband followed up again via email on March 5th & 6th with no response from Cowboy Cooling. My husband attempted to call Cowboy Cooling and left several messages with no return calls. I also requested a response via email on March 19th, 20th as well as contacting via website request and Facebook on March 19th.We were left with no choice but to cancel our services (still awaiting confirmation of cancellation) with Cowboy Cooling and seek another company to complete our duct work replacement.It is very disappointing that it came to this as we have used Cowboy Cooling for years and never have been treated with outright disregard.
Thomas was very polite and explained thing in a way I could relay to my husband for us to make a well informed decision. Looking forward to keeping their monthly service and keeping our house cool in this Texas heat.
We were assigned to them under our home warranty. They responded within 24 hours. The tech came out quickly, but the price for Freon was not covered under our warranty and was unexpectedly high. I asked that the tech step out while I discussed how we would cover the expense and after 5 min. spouse went outside and the tech was on the phone so we waited for him to return. But instead he just left! I called him and the company immediately and was told that the tech can’t just wait around because he has to go to other jobs. Wow!However the representative did quickly reassign the service for two bus. days later and took my payment over the phone.The technicians that handled the repair were simply OUTSTANDING! Thorough in explaining the repair work being done and professional and courteous throughout. We have had several units repaired/replaced in years prior and are somewhat familiar with the process including verifying that the system is charged and weighing Freon before and after to ensure you are not over paying for lbs. of Freon that you did not receive.As it turns out we did over pay and after a few calls back to the company, we received a refund for the overpayment.Aside from those two hiccups listed above I would highly recommend this company for future service.
$6000 for a 3.5 ton electric unit with new supply plenum. Killer deal. Bill is super low now.
Joseph was respectful, honest and had no problem with watching over his shoulder. I have a new system so this was my first maintenance call and he mentioned one issue from the builders and had that fixed within 10 minutes.
I’ve used Cowboy Cooling three times now for repairs and system maintenance. They schedule quickly, show up on time and communicate with the customer very well by phone and text. Every tech that has come is professional, knowledgeable, and offers advice and recommendations. Great, small, professional company I will continue to use. Most home warranty companies use them as well, ask if they service your area.
My outside unit stopped working in the middle of the night and Cowboy Cooling was at my house just an hour after contacting them in the morning. David was very helpful, and took time explaining to me how my system worked and what needed to be done to fix it! Great service and I will definitely contact them again for servicing my system and future repairs.
Cowboy cooling was assigned to me as part of my home warranty‘s AC check program. I could not be more happy with their service and professionalism! They are so communicative. They contacted me to remind me that they were coming, that they were on their way, and when they were going to be 10 minutes late, they even contacted me about that. ** FYI the only reason that the technician was late is because he stopped to help a pregnant lady change her flat tire at the gas station. Also, I had to reschedule a couple of times and they made it so easy and made me feel totally fine about having to reschedule with them. They came into my home and were so respectful professional and quick. All of their reports and explanations are thorough and followed up with email and documentation about the service that I received. I would 100% recommend this company to anyone!!
The heater wasnt working properly. Although everything was working fine with my heater, David gave me a lot of information of how I can help to keep my heater to run more efficiently. I would definitely use Cowboy Cooling again for my heating and air condition needs.
I worked with David and he was AMAZING!! He was very thorough and answered all my questions. He continuously kept contact throughout the whole process. The workers were neat and professional. They quoted me 3 days but finished in 2. I would definitely recommend!!
5 stars just isn’t enough for these folks. My heater went out, and with it being 40-50 something degrees out, I was miserable. These gentlemen arrived promptly, and got straight to work fixing the issue in no time!! They were knowledgeable and friendly, and did not charge an arm and leg. I will always trust the reliability of Cowboy Cooling! I have used them in the past for various needs but this time was of much more importance. Their dispatcher, Kari, had me on the schedule the very next day and their technician, Sam, had us cooling again in less than an hour! Our tech was very knowledgeable and troubleshooted the issue with our pulsing air conditioner right away. He repaired the unit at a fantastic price and was in and out in less than an hour. The tech was very nice and professional. I will definitely use their service for any future issues. As a woman sometimes I feel that trade techs try to make the most on the job and take advantage of my lack of knowledge. I did not feel that way with Cowboy Cooling and I appreciated our tech explaining everything in detail.
I was referred to Cowboy Cooling by a friend and was IMMEDIATELY impressed. David called me back after I left a message on his voicemail, told me exactly how to make sure I officially reserved a time, and got to my house before his anticipated arrival time. He identified the issue, personally went to get the replacement part, and even diagnosed the other issue I had been having with one of the rooms not cooling. I will absolutely be using them in the future and am extremely happy with my experience!
My home warranty company hired these yahoos, they came and left with doing the job, upon calling them to find out when they were going to start and finish the job, I got notice that the answering service was full and could not take messages. This went on for over a week, my warranty company they got the same message. In the meantime, the entire month of August has gone by and I, at 78 years of age went lacking for air a solid month. Another company was called and the same thing happened again, this yahoo said he was arguing with my warranty company, another week went by with no air. A third company was called and sent out, Im hoping they can get this problem taken care of tomorrow. Cowboy Cooling is totally unprofessional and not liable at all.
Found Cowboy Cooling through the home warranty I used to have and was impressed with their service. Ricardo did a great job checking on our new system and cleaning the leafs out of the condenser.They also provide an annual service plan to make sure your A/C unit is in great shape all year long so you’re never caught off guard without A/C!

He was very thorough with what he was doing and was VERY educational when it came to explaining what each part of the system did. I met with several vendors to get quotes on a new house and the existing two HVAC systems. Robert, the owner of Cowboy Cooling, probably spent an hour talking to me and explaining every aspect of the two systems, what they do, what he’d recommend. Out of the bids I received, he was the only one to spend time explaining the components, different options I had (ex- moving between brands or SEER ratings based on how long we would own the house). His price came in comparably to the other bids, and I truly felt that I understood every scope of the work.We scheduled work and got started ASAP. He used a sub contractor team for the install in my area and they showed up on time and got to work quickly. Very polite and friendly team. The work was completed and Robert came back out to finalize the installation and address some lingering items. We actually had a snafu with the HVAC we had chosen and Robert went above and beyond talking me through options and finding a replacement product with no extra cost.Overall, this company set the bar for great communication and I’m very happy with the work they completed, I’d highly recommend them to anyone. You’ll know exactly what they did and how your system works. So awesome! Also, they might text you memes as part of your communication thread.
If I could give more stars I absolutely would! Let me be clear when I say this company saved my life. I’m a newly single mother, who has a heat intolerance from an autoimmune disease. My air conditioner went out 2 months ago, but I had no money so I attempted to file it through my home warranty company. After waiting two months to hear that the warranty company wouldn’t even send out a new technician after denying replacement for the first one, I was in touch with Cowboy Cooling through a referral. They came immediately, and when it was determined I needed a replacement they were simply perfect. Within 72 hours of payment they had ordered, received and installed a new system in my home! I could not have been more impressed with the timely service OR with their amazing installers! I’m so thankful for this company! I highly recommend them to any and everyone needing service!
We used them for a regular AC Tune Up for air conditioning units that were working fine and paid extra for more freon. Not only did they not flush our lines - something our AC tuneups have always included, but one of our AC units stopped working completely within an hour after they left! Not impressed!

So Im always hesitant about using a service I find online but I was extremely pleased with this decision. The only reason I went with Cowboy Cooling is because Ive seen posts from Robert Burge (Owner) on FB, assisting others in a group called Houston Area Off-Road Recovery. Hes always very helpful and seems like a genuinely good guy.Side note... Im HVAC certified. I went through Lone Star and received my HVAC & EPA certification several years ago but have been with the same company for 23 years and dont envy anyone that has to crawl around in a hot attic)That being said, I needed a new complete system (4 ton residential) and called them out for a quote. John Miller (Service Tech) came out and walked me through why my existing unit needed to be replaced (inside unit rusted out) and several options for a new unit, tiered based on pricing. He did not pressure me to choose one unit over the other, just gave me facts and asked me to call if/when I made a decision on which unit I wanted to go with.Because of my background in AC, I was able to understand and appreciate the feedback he gave. It all made sense and left me feeling comfortable with the purchase. I called him back and scheduled the work.2 days later they had a crew of 3 guys arrive and install our new system. They were extremely professional and paid great attention to detail. Copper lines were routed at 90 degree angles, wrapped in tape if/where needed. Pookie (think of it like drywall mud but for seams on new AC systems) was installed as needed and all looked very professional. Electrical lines tucked out of the way and not just strewn across the middle of the floor. Im telling you, these guys were A++.Additional side note... My cousin lives 8 miles from me and he had a different company install a 3.5 ton unit 2 months before mine. Theres no comparison, Cowboy Cooling did a MUCH cleaner job. And to top it off, I paid the same for my 4 ton unit that he paid for his 3.5 AND I got a 10 year parts and labor warranty. My cousin only has a 2 year labor warranty and 10 year parts.Thank you so much to John, Robert and the rest of the team involved. Very happy customer!!!
Robert and his team came to my house. Gave me a run down from most budget friendly to his top tier package. Only 3 selections for my house size which is good because it keeps it simple and to the point. I selected the proper package for my house and they came and installed it in a day. Super neat crew, didnt leave a mess behind and been using it till this day.

First and foremost I would like to apologize to the scheduling lady who answered my call today. I let the frustration of the heat get the best of me and I was not kind. We must remember that we are in a major heat wave, there are only so many technicians and they are doing the best they can. So I hope you see this and I am sorry.Cowboy Cooling has been nothing but helpful during our A/C issues and we definitely recommend them. Just remember the heat is excessive right now and all these AC companies are flooded with jobs so be patient. If it is a dire emergency she will do her very best to get you scheduled and taken care of.

ZERO pressure or BS given, just gave me the facts and let me decide.I had them install a complete new unit and signed up for the semi-annual PM service as well.When the job is complete I get an email with the details on what the readings on the AC system were as well.Great experiences each time. Tyler came out today and was very professional, explained what he was doing (just a PM), and was just a really nice guy.Keep up the great work!!
Hired them to add new insulation in my attic, they were very prompt and professional on the job, even when the machine broke down, which was not their fault. They returned first thing next morning to finish the job. Thanks again!
I’ve used cowboy cooling every time I’ve had any AC needs and they have always been great. Very dependable and reliable. The customer service can’t be beat either. Always on time, fast, friendly and they fix it right the first time. I highly recommend Robert and the guys at cowboy cooling!
John was absolutely incredible to work with. We bought and moved into our home in March 2021 and, of course, started having AC issues a month later. We have a home warranty and were matched with cowboy cooling and initially had someone come out just to replace the evaporator coil (with the recommendation we replace the whole system because ours was 20 years old). Not expecting that kind of expense, we just did the coil (~$1100 because we also had to pay for the Freon for our very old system). A few weeks later, we had more issues with it but this time it was an electrical problem. Then, shocker, more issues. The second time cowboy came out, we had John come out and we are beyond thankful for him. He even got some of our issues covered under our home warranty and we ended up saving a little bit of money doing it this way than we would have if we paid to replace the whole system the first time (gotta look on the bright side, lol). John was super nice, super responsive, extremely helpful and patient in explaining everything to us. 10/10 would recommend John from Cowboy Cooling!

Cowboy Cooling was dispatched as part of a home warranty call. Adam and RJ arrived in a timely manner. They explained what the issue was, how the part in question wears out, and how to properly maintain my AC unit. They explained other issues that could go wrong in a professional way for AC dummies to easily understand.I would call them again, and request this same team for future issues and services.
8/18/2023Poor service. They did half of the job with a promise to return to get the AC igoing. I said I would withhold payment till the job is complete. They said if we could pay now they would be back the next day to get it running. It’s a brand new unit!That was over two weeks ago and the AC is still not working. they have a lady that answers the phone that is rude and obnoxious and has poor customer service skills. Do not use them. .So as an update I called the warranty folks and they said they just heard from cowboy cooling. I asked why they had not called them back 2 weeks ago?So now they have to order parts.Cowboy cooking Shane on you for dropping the ball for two weeks and only calling them based on my prompt!Choice warranty this is exactly why people hate warranty’s - bad bad service.2 weeks later 9:2Still no resolve called the warranty provider CHOICE. And they said the issue shows resolved and it is not. I escalated the situation with CHOICE and they will contact the vendor.Still waiting with No air conditioning in 104 weather

Update: My initial review below was regarding the initial meet with Adam, and his recommendation on how best to resolve our AC issue. Adam was fantastic, what happened afterwards was terrible. Fast forward to the last 2 weeks, and the service has been terrible. Adam left the company a couple days after we met and a different set of Technicians completed the install. They put a huge hole in my ceiling, and one of them dropped their phone down my wall so they had to cut a big hole in the wall to retrieve it. They left a huge mess inside my home, and outside. Leaving soda cans, water bottles and materials near the outside unit. They also left insulation, and sheetrock in the house. I then had to waste time calling back the company and having them send someone to fix the damage they caused. Then two days after install we began hearing a leak from the brand new unit. I call to have them come out and they didnt even make me a priority when the unit was JUST INSTALLED. It took them 3 or 4 days to come out, and when they did the issue wasnt resolved. They just left without saying a word and I had to call the company only to find out they didnt have the part. I then had to wait another 4 days for them to come back and replace the part. I have been as patient and nice about things as I can be, and had we been made a priority due to the botched install I would have kept my review at 5 stars and recommended this company. The incidents that happened during this install were rookie mistakes. An experienced Technician wouldnt drop his phone down a wall or put a tool on sheet rock knowing it would fall through. The dispatcher is extremely professional but that is about the only positive thing I have to say about this whole ordeal. They had the best bid out of the 10 companies I went through, but had I known the service would be this poor I would have just gone with another company and paid more. The tech says the system was low 2 pounds on refrigerant but there was no leak. Where did the refrigerant go then? Now Im again low in refrigerant. Their job is to charge to just put refrigerant and don’t care if you call them months later to put more refrigerant. They don’t find the leak, the business is to put more and more
I had a wonderful experience with Cowboy Cooling. I contacted them about a week ago for my few quote. Jon came out and was very knowledgeable and helpful.At no point in time did I feel like I was being talked down to or upsold on products/services I did not need.Their price beat three other companies that came out and took a look. I also really appreciated that Jon was sent out for both the quote and the actual work.We now don’t have to worry about this summer heat! I’ve got plenty of insulation and now the master bedroom is fit for polar bears. I am one happy homeowner.
I bought a house in October. Bought a home warranty. Air and heating went out end of January. Home warranty company contracts with Cowboy Cooling. Cowboy cooling came out same day claim was filed and diagnosed the issue and reported back to the home warranty company. Once claim was settled, Cowboy Cooling was contacted and scheduled service for the following day. The owner, Robert, personally contacted me to make the arrangements. The next morning Cowboy Cooling arrived and immediately started the repairs/replacement of my attic unit. Robert came out to meet me and ensure his technicians had everything they needed. I have seen previous reviews and I feel its important to leave the proper review. In my case, the service was outstanding. The technicians were friendly, thorough, efficient, clean and professional. I have absolutely no complaints and will recommend this company. Communication is they key to any successful transaction. Robert didnt have to handle this himself. He has employees to do this. But his business is important to him as is his reputation. It clearly shows. Thank you Robert.
The Tuesday night before Thanksgiving (the first Thanksgiving in our first house) our AC went out, Cowboy Cooling was recommended to me by my neighbors. I gave them a call and within 20 mins they were at my door and with in an hr the ac was running, but not only did they fix the problem they also corrected many little things the previous owner of the house either did or had done, as well as recommended other ways to improve the functionality of my unit. They walked me thorough everything they did explaining in depth why the were doing it, very courteous and professional, will definitely be using them for all of my ac problems.
Once again Cowboy Cooling came out for a unit check, did a thorough check and made sure all was working properly before they left. The technician provided great customer service!

We only used Cowboy Cooling because of our home warranty, Landmark. After they ignored our diagnosis from a previous company of our heating issue, they sent a junior employee to take a shot at the problem. After he assured us the problem was resolved, we ran the heater only to have our house completely fill with smoke and fumes and worry about the integrity of our house. When we called to have it fixed, they seemed less than concerned with the major issue, they tried to re-diagnose our issue at an EXTREME markup. When we called to ask about the pricing, the supervisor admitted to marking up prices to recoup their costs in addition to bad-mouthing Landmark Home Warranty. We pulled our claim with them as fast as we could as I would never willingly give them our hard earned money. Admitted schemers will never get our money and I suggest anyone reading this run FAR AWAY from this awful company.
Adam is very professional and good natured. I enjoyed talking with him as he explained everything he did concerning my SPP (service maintenance) to me. Replaced existing HVAC system and installed a French drain for the condensation drain. John did an outstanding job of communicating, photos and even a video chat to show me things as l was not present while the work was being performed. He even did the registration of the new units on my behalf. John and everyone involved with the removal and installation of the units were always on time and professional.
Charged me $216 for a service contract which included a fall 2021 and spring 2022 inspection and cleaning. Still to this day, they have not returned my call for my spring 2022 service. They will not refund me 1/2 of my money since services were not rendered and they just tried to bill me for a new maintenance contact. If you like customer service and communication, this is not the company to use.
Our Home warranty uses Cowboy cooling for AC service issues and we put in a request for service as we had a leak from the AC into our dining room ceiling and our normal big box AC service company wanted $2000 to make the necessary repairs. As we had a home warranty for the house having just bought about 10 months ago I called for service to see if the warranty would cover any of the repairs needed. They ended up sending out John to look at our system and he found the issue that 4 other techs could not between two companies. A strap had come loose and once put into/secured at proper place the system was no longer leaking and we had to replace nothing. He even topped off our slightly low Freon while here at no cost. We made some additional repairs at our request today and the service from John was again timely, efficient, and professional. We have switched to Cowboy Cooling moving forward for all our AC needs.
I called landmark home warranty on a Sunday because my ac was no longer blowing cool air . Cowboy Cooling AC company came out the very next day . I Was dreading hearing the words “you need a new AC system “ from the technicians .I knew my AC system is becoming a dinosaur lolYes The technician came out as scheduled and diligently diagnosed the issue to my AC unit. I needed a new motherboard and a blower engine , so You can imagine how happy I was to hear the words “repairable “ the icing on the cake was the items will be covered by Landmark Home Warranty. Very pleased with Cowboy Cooling service .
I created a claim through my home warranty and Cowboy Cooling was assigned. I had an appointment scheduled for a tech to come out between the hours of 7am-11am. I called at 10:40 to check the status and the lady who answered the phone couldnt give me any information and said she would have a tech call me. When I asked if I could have the techs number to call and get an ETA, the lady hung up on me. I asked for my claim to be reassigned, Im writing this review at 10:51 and the tech still isnt onsite. I would avoid their service.
Dominic was our technician to diagnosis our problem with our heat. The unit was blowing cool air while on heat. He fixed the problem and explained what was happening and why it happened. What a joke of air conditioning company they were sent by my warranty company, 30 minutes later he drives off and dont even come to me and tell me anything, I called him no answer then the 2nd time he answers and says he saw evidence were someone tried to fix it I said absolutely not he said I took pictures of tools up there, if he saw tools they were put there because nobody attempted any type of work I waited 5 days in 103 degree heat with a baby to get it fixed. This is a joke of a company that was hired by a warranty company. I hope they dont have to deal with 103 degree weather with a baby.Shame on them for making up such ridiculous stuff so they dont have to do the work... I would not recommend this company to anyone at all.My son in law knows the owner of this company and was floored by the actions they took against me.They need to be evaluated by the BBB.Sincerely,A lady and a baby! I called on a holiday weekend and they were able to work me in to diagnose the problem. They worked with my Home Warrenty company to let me know what was covered. And what my portion would be. Parker explained everything to me and discussed the next steps. I felt that I was working with a great company!
My home warranty company booked Cowboy Cooling to come out to my property. They called me at 8:30 AM this morning and said they would be at my house between 12 and 5. Both my wife and I have obligations we cant break at 1:30 PM almost every day, but I figured that if they happened to call and say they were on their way around that time, they would be flexible and perhaps swap some time slots to accommodate us (or at least put us last on the list for the day). They were not at all flexible when they did (coincidentally enough) call us to tell us that was the time the technician would arrive. While I placed the scheduler on a brief 30 second hold to ask my wife if she could take care of her business before 1:30, they made the decision to re-route the technician, and reschedule me for the next day. When I asked the scheduler to put her supervisor on the phone (the person who the scheduler claimed made the decision to re-route my technician), the scheduler informed me that her supervisor was unavailable for the rest of the day. I immediately called my home warranty company and got the job reassigned to another company. Learn from my story. If you have anything at all going on during your day that you are obligated to take care of (as most people in their 30s do), do not schedule an appointment with these people. They will not accommodate. You WILL have to sit there in your cold house for another day or two and hope they dont call around that time again.

Wonderful and quality work! Worked with him on getting an older woman air conditioning when she had been out for several weeks in dead middle of summer. He went out, we helped pay for the parts and he did the entire job for 0 labor and even cut all her yard and high weeds that were blocking her air conditioning units! Cowboy Cooling did a great job repairing my AC unit. Some squirrels chewed up some wires and caused the motor to burn up, so they installed a new motor and replaced the wiring with no problem! Showed up on time, quote was accurate (and under everybody elses), quality of work was top-notch and returned at a later date to adjust the air purifier to our liking!The other review about them being contracted by a warranty company is irrelevant. Warranty companies stay in business by doing everything they can to NOT warranty your equipment. The contractors can ONLY do what the contracts say. Cowboy Cooling should be at no fault for their contracts regulations.
My window was 12-4. I called the office at 1:30 to find out if I would get notice when they were coming and was told yes. At 3:30 when they hadnt shown up I called again only to find out THE OFFICE WAS CLOSED! I gave up on them coming, until at 6:15 I received notice they were on their way. The tech then called me, and said he was coming from Dayton, he didnt show up until approximately 7:30! There was a complete breakdown and failure here. I should have been advised the tech would be late. It was disrespectful of me and my time. The only positive thing I have to say is the tech was professional when he showed up.
Honestly I’m not exactly sure what service they provided. I would like to say they honestly completed an annual tune up but they told my warranty company we needed a new capacitor, two new evaporator coils and 10 pounds of freon. However the second opinion we got said all we needed was 3 pounds (2 in the downstairs unit, 1 in the upstairs) and the coils were just fine. Hmmmm.

I had an issue with my AC and it was blowing hot air for 2 weeks. Through a home warranty company, Cowboy cooling came to check it out. They said nothing was wrong with my AC and that my house was too big and I need to install a 2 unit AC which would cost me 20k. The next day I called a different AC company and they found out it was my Capacitor. They replaced it and I havent had any issues for a week. How as an AC company do you missed that?? The other AC company even cleaned out my AC and gave me advice on how to maintain my AC. Cowboy did absolutely nothing.
Horrible company, will tell you anything to make the sell and after you sign on the line they screw you. They subcontract all the work to kids who look like they are barely 18 and have no professionalism. Lied about the loan and said it was a home improvement loan but was a credit card and it dropped my score 70 points. The left trash and the old fan in my attic which means they were running a fan while blowing in insulation. Left holes in my wall but was kind enough to let me know it would be easy for me to fix. Did a halfazzed job on the insulation leaving the old insulation under the plywood walkway. Run don’t walk away from this company that are a trash company and not to be trusted.
Cowboy Cooling is a joke!! Our home warranty works through them. We called last week Wednesday because our A/C went out. They could not come look at it until Friday. They arrived and were told at 1pm that day that we would have an answer by 5pm same say as to when the part we needed would be available. Office hours are 9-5. At 5:10, we called to get a response as we didnt want to go much longer with no A/C and 90°. We were told they were just about to call us and they were waiting on the Supervisor and theyd call us right back. 10 minutes later, a call saying they would have the part Monday and would arrive between 12-4. We took off work those hours waiting for a call as to an ETA. Nothing..by 4pm we were calling the office. Guess what?!? NO ANSWER!!!! we finally got a response from the number that text us with an ETA of the initial visit on Friday, saying 20-40 minutes which was at 3:50. They FINALLY arrived at 5pm, blocking our driveway. We told the technicians they needed to move their truck and we needed a phone call from the office asap. We got that call, but the owner (woman) said she just received a phone call saying they couldnt access the home. EXCUSE ME?!?! YOUR EMPLOYEES WERE IN OUR HOUSE!! Zero communication from this company the entire time. We always had to initiate the call and see what was going on. They wouldnt order the part until we paid, which is fine, but they sure took their time following through on their end. We asked the techs roughly how long they would be and they said 2-3 hours. They left around 9:30, but we arent certain on the time because they took off and never said they were completed. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, the entire experience was TRASH! Will never go through them again.
I called Cowboy Cooling and spoke with their office staff (Hailey?) about how my moms A/C wasn’t working properly on Friday morning around 10am. They were able to schedule for a window of 12-4 the following day. Tyler was the tech that came out. He called and asked if it was okay that he come earlier, which was perfectly fine with us. He showed up and was very professional. Everything he found that was an issue he would show me what it looked like vs what it should look like, what the numbers on the gauges meant, etc. There wasn’t any step of the process he didn’t explain. I understood exactly why, and what he was repairing, as well as what to look for in the future. He was respectful of our home, and property and very easy to talk to. Our house is cool, and we are satisfied!This is our second time using Cowboy Cooling and couldn’t be happier. The first time Robert, the owner, came out to the call. He was great, and was professional the same as his technicians. Got assigned Cowboy Cooling thru Landmark HW for AC Check prior to summer. Immediately was contacted by CC to set up appointment. Once set, Dominic arrived exactly on time (window was 12P-4P, he was here at 12:02). He came in, checked the interior set-up in the attic, made sure everything was working, and then checked the exterior unit. Told us hes required to tell us the outside unit is getting old (20 years this year), BUT is still working fine and If it aint broke, dont fix it. Pointed out the previous fixes and the newer parts were working fine so we should be all set for this year.Would highly recommend Cowboy Cooling.
Called Cowboy Cooling on Monday they were at my house Tuesday morning at 8am ,preformed a service to heating system at no charge .I bought this complete system approximately 5 months ago and have had no issues with it .Besides the prompt service I have received I love the set up in my attic..it is such a clean set-up I always find myself checking it out when ever in need to get something from up there. I used Cowboy cooling through Landmark home warranty. The technician came to fix the issue of not cooling upstairs rooms. After they left, it was found the upstairs get cool but downstair rooms get hot. It was like switched the not cooling issue from upstairs to downstair. After waiting couple of days, no response from this company to come back to fix the issue.
We had a house fire back in 2020 and cowboy cooling came in and they did their job perfectly and installing the new system but whenever a year later the system had an issue we had called them to let them know can yall come out and look at it there was no phone call return and they blocked our numbers because they said that we were too annoying but I had a house full of my children and my husband who is disabled and I was working and yes I did have an attitude I admit to that but that still doesnt give them the right to shut us completely down in the process of that I lost two animals due to that which animals that will never be able to be returned back to us so I give them a two Im not very pleased with them and I dont recommend them to anybody
Tyler came and repaired our AC unit. The fix ended up being simple, thank heavens, but Tyler was communicative and helpful in his dealings with me. He helped me clearly understand exactly what the problem was and how to prevent it in the future. Loved our experience
Cowboy cooling came out to service my a/c. The person they sent out was professional and efficient. He identified a failing capacitor, cleaned out a clogged drain, and refilled the freon. I was very impressed by their service.
My homes central air handler blower went out in September, so I called my home warranty to getit repaired and they sent me to Cowboy Cooling. At first, they were responsive and sent someone at the agreed upon time and diagnosed the unit. I was told that they will order parts and get back to me with the repair as soon as rhe parts have come in. It is now the end of October and almost every attempt to reach them has been met with voicemail and no calls back. The one time I get an answer, the woman on the other end says the tech will get ahold of me. I wait for another week and no call. I have come to a point where I am tired of waiting and I will be repairing this myself.If your home warranty will not use any A/C repair service other than this lousy company, then stop paying for that warranty, because it isnt worth what you are paying into it.
Robert Burge listened to our issues, then surveyed our HVAC system and located the problems that were created by the previous A/C company. He explained in detailed, clear, layman’s terms what the problem was and how it was to be remedied. I am so thankful that we actually have a reliable, professional, knowledgeable company who actually spends time to listen and then accomplishes what the customer wants. Very rare these days! Cowboy Cooling, LLC. is a great company. John came to our home and spent a great deal of time explaining everything we needed to know about what was going on with our AC unit. We have had trouble with airflow in our home for years. Weve had other companies come out and most would tell us that its just the Houston summers, or that because we have a 2-story home with one AC unit, we will always have inconsistent air flow. John figured out immediately that our ductwork was blocked in a number of areas. He came back and put in new ductwork and explained exactly what he was doing and why. Its only been 4 days and our home is cooling better and feels more comfortable than it has in years!!!The price was extremely reasonable and we really appreciated the way John took the time to explain everything he was doing. We will definitely make Cowboy Cooling our AC company and will always ask for John! And I will be recommending them to our neighbors and friends.Update 3/16/21 - Cowboy Cooling came out today for AC check. If I could give 10 stars to John and Cowboy Cooling I would!!!
This company is contracted with Landmark Home Warranty and other warranty companies only to come get the service call and try to find any reason to get you out of the coverage to get you to pay them their insane high rate to fix the problem outside of the coverage! Not honest at all, stay away from this company!Update:Now company tries to contact me , 2 years after the fact, to tell me if they can correct the issue to email a customer service account!!Please stay away from this company.
The tech forgot gauges when he first arrived and had to leave to retrieve. I was OK with that till he got up on the outside unit.He comes in to inform me that my capacitor is reading low (supposed to be 30 is 29) but he isnt 100% on high-seer units.I told him I was not going to spend the quoted $300 on a replacement when it is working perfectly (2 year old carrier brand).He went back out closed it up and asked me to stop the unit from the thermostat. I did. He then tells me one side of my compressor isnt working...opened it saying he thought he put it all back correctly. Closes it up asks me to restart again, I do and it says system fault.3 or 4 minutes later he says not sure what he fixed but it is working again and everything else is fine - asked for check and left after asking if I want a quote for the capacitor swap. All in all a very unsatisfying experience.

So I know the owner and his wife via Facebook (never met in person). I talked to Robert about a year ago when my ac wasn’t keeping the house cool and it was low on Freon and a co worker of mine handled it at the time. This past weekend it froze up and I mean inside line to compressor completely solid in ice. I work a lot and I’m rarely home so I set up with him to come out on Thursday when I was available. He immediately remembered our conversation and looked back at it without me mentioning anything and identified the issues as to why I was losing freon quickly after he arrived. Honest and to the point about what the issue was with detailed explanation as to why it was happening. Definitely will be using cowboy cooling in the future and highly recommend using this small family owned and operated business.

Very prompt, he arrived at the early end of the window and within 15 minutes had identified the problem, 5 more minutes was all it took to have the faulty thermostat replaced. Also, he had no issue with my slightly intrusive 60 lb dog which I was impressed with.
They never answer the phone or returcalls. They dont update the warranty case. It seems they dont want to do the job. Been 2 months now and my a/c is still not working.
On May 12th I used Cowboy cooling LLC because I was having problems with my drain pan overflowing in my attic HVAC. Robert came out and made a good knowledgeable assessment of the problem. The following day Tyler came out and performed the work exactly as described. He was a diligent and professional worker. Even when he hit a snag he pushed through and executed a very efficient and professional end product. I will definitely use and recommend Tyler and Cowboy Cooling for future jobs.
Told us that we would need duct work redone in our house. Technician said his bosses would contact us that day to give more information. Never head back from them. Tried calling and they don’t return our call either.

We were contracted with cowboy cooling through our warranty, the technician told us we needed 14 lbs of coolant which was $100 / lb, six outside and eight in the attic, first they contracted a sub contractor to replace the evaporator coils, the sub contractors spends about 5 hours in the attic, left the old unit in our yard for four days, and never actually put the coolant, the other technician came back out too late in the day the next day and still didn’t take the old evaporator coil unit until I called him and then he came back out a third time and got it, then they called another sub contractor out a few days later to finally put the coolant, the entire experience was a mess and then I found out we didn’t need that much coolant so they scammed us for $1400, and I asked them multiple time to send me a receipt but they never sent it to me it to me, worst experience of my life, would absolutely not recommend to anyone
Technician (David Stone), was a true professional, proficient and knowledgeable. Call was for the Spring AC system maintenance check, no issues detected. Thank you David for the professional and expedited service, which nowadays can be a challenge.

John, the technician, was professional, courteous and informative. My wife and I learned a lot about our HVAC system and were given sound advice on how to maintain our A/C and heating systems throughout the year. It was our first time using Cowboy Cooling since we moved back to Houston and will definitely utilize them again for all our HVAC needs.
Cowboy Cooling has serviced the air conditioning in both of my homes. Both times they found and fixed problems that had other companies stumped. They also have done work for friends and relatives I have referred them to and each one has been super impressed with the work that cowboy cooling does.
Update as of 04/22/24 finally got a hold of someone they apologized for the way their employee was handling the phone and they are coming out to check my system.Tried to call them I have a service agreement no answer no calls back even order a whole home filter cabinet it’s been over a year and still haven’t received it. Even sent a message on Facebook and now they blocked me
This past summer I came home at like 7-8 from work my kids were complaining because it was hot. I immediately searched for a company. Was referred by a friend to cowboy cooling. Got an appt scheduled for the next morning. My dumb self left the fan going or whatever. So when Robert got here the next morning it was scolding hot. He turned everything off and said he would be back later in the day once it cooled off. I had been told to turn it off and I didn’t. Around 2 or 3 he told me he was on his way again. He got here figured out the issue. Replaced parts and got this house cooling again. Always up front and honest and a small family owned business. I will continue to use cowboy cooling for all of my ac & Heat needs.
Robert and Lacey Burge are the most caring people I know! They will go out of their way to help anyone they can. Very professional , honest, and cost efficient!

Paid over $2000 nearly two months ago. Put on a waiting list and have not been called. Called office multiple times with no answer. Left messages with no call back. Theyre constantly having trouble charging my card for monthly service fee.

Added new room to the house. Robert the owner came out, looked at what I had and gave me a quote. Ended up adding a new vent coming out the main unit and into the room. Quick fast and easy. Cant beat customer service either. Will be using in the future.
A friend of mine used these guys and unfortunately seems like they are very creative with their diagnosis just to charge ridiculous amount of money and do nothing. People are free to use whomever they want but just wanted to add this here for future knowledge.

They give you a 4hr window. They don’t give you any updates if they are running late. If they can’t hit their 4hr window they shouldn’t schedule so many jobs for that day, and maybe give notification to a customer that’s wasted an entire day waiting for the service. Time is money for everyone.
Long term service provider. Helped with warranty after new installation of A/C units. One unit kept going out after 6 months and 4th time going out full replacement.
They didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need and and were extremely knowledgeable and efficient. Id give them higher than 5 stars if I could without question. These guys are the Best!
