I would like to praise San Marcos AC and Heating for a fantastic job on installing a new HVAC for me. After 23 wonderful years with my original AC it was time! (God rest her soul…she was a champ!!) It was a very overwhelming process in deciding which company, which brand, and what type! I have to say that San Marcos Air was the right decision in every facet; from the sales process, to install, it was an awesome experience! James, David, Jarred and Elijah were professional, considerate and excellent at their jobs. Gotta give extra kudos to Jarred who had a full arm cast past his elbow and worked effortlessly. Impressive!I highly recommend them for any HVAC needs you might have. Im so happy and satisfied!

Jarred from San Marcos A/C & Heating did an excellent job assessing my moms HVAC system. He was extremely knowledgeable about the system and explained everything clearly to me. He even crawled in *very* small spaces in the attic, taking pictures and videos to assess and show me what hed found. He gave us a full accounting of the system and SM Air A/C & Heating followed up the next day with estimates for any further work we chose to do--all without pressuring us toward anything further. Initial Site VisitDavid came out to do a site visit before providing an estimate on installing a new compressor/evaporator for our Mini-split A/C system. He was quite knowledgeable and when he was done, I felt confident we were in good hands. Very professional in both his trade and demeanor. Friendly, too!InstallationDavid squeezed us into SMACs hectic midsummer schedule and his A-crew, Aldo and Hugo, arrived just a few days after I authorized the estimate. There were some parts of our old system (the line sets and communication wire) that were still new from the first installation (just 18 months ago), so we upcycled those to save a bit on parts and labor.The crew were here promptly at 8 AM and had finished by noon. In that time, they never took a break (in 95 degree heat) they installed a new 18,000 BTU evaporator/condenser (the exterior unit) and two 9,000 BTU indoor inverter/splits. I thought, this must be some sort of record so I asked for a tour. Aldo walked me through what theyd done and, sure enough, everything was in place and running like a charm. That was a week ago but I wanted to get some run-time on the new system before writing this review. No problems.The entire experience of working with SM Air was positive, from Davids initial visit to quote the job, to the efficiency and professionalism of the crew. I would challenge any other crew of two to do such thorough and accurate work, installing a like system in less time. This was our second go at having this type of air put into this same building. The original installation contractor was not only much less efficient, taking three days for the same criteria, but more expensive. Id rather have my teeth pulled than work with them again.Im not privy to all of the contractors in our area, but Ive been working with contractors (in industry) for 30 years and cant imagine finding a better company that performs this kind of work...anywhere._______May 2024We had both of our AC systems serviced by Curtis, who was fast, thorough, professional, and friendly. Jarred was out tech this time and the experience is always consistent. This time, our heat check went smoothly, but we mentioned some differences between rooms during extreme temperatures. Even though it wasnt part of this service call, Jarred measured intakes and vents and we received and a call from David to learn how to more about their airflow balancing.

James quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem, we also signed up for their twice yearly maintenance program to prevent future issues. We have been very happy with SM Air. They are always very responsive and professional.

Jerred was TERRIFIC! My system stopped working and was making a loud clattering sound. I called SM Air and Michelle immediately sent Jerrod out to investigate. He thoroughly diagnosed the issue and explained what needed to be done. I am impressed with SM Air for so quickly getting a tech here.San Marcos Air has done an outstanding job of standing behind the HVAC they installed last year. The new unit became problematic after a few months, and after over a year and a half they sent technicians out several times. It turned out the new unit was faulty and they replaced the unit with a new one.

Jarred and Elijah did a great job! They arrived on time and were professional and personable. Despite a challenge with our WiFi and the thermostat, they were able to get us set up and running quickly. Thank you!

These guys have installed three different units for our family. They do great work, are super nice and helpful. The respond quickly if you have a problem. We are now retired, but have redone houses for a living for years. These guys are my favorite A/C and Heating folks.

David called ahead and showed up on time to give me an estimate on a new system. He suggested I wait a couple years, this ones still got life left in it. Any adjusted my thermostat so the heat pump work properly.I would recommend this company to anyone looking for service or an install.If you go on the website, do not use the CHAT FEATURE on the website -- unless you want to waste your time. The responses are so slow that you would do better to fill out the info form and they will call you back in minutes. Its frustrating that companies have that chat feature, but are not able to chat in real time.

David, Jarred and Elijah did a terrific job installing 4-ton and 3-ton heat pumps at my house in Buda. I chose San Marcos Air principally because David was such a patient and positive consultant when I was deciding what equipment, ductwork, etc... to install. He never tired of my questions even when I tired of my questions myself! And when it time came to install everything, Jarred and Elijah arrived on time, worked long and hard over a couple of days, found several clever ways to circumvent problems (especially drainage pipes in the way of filter cabinets), and were very carefully to leave everything neat and tidy when they finished. In my experience, SM Air is excellent at what they do and a pleasure to work with!

No more dust, no more coughing at night, all rooms in the house now have an equal temperature, the air feels cleaner an easier to breath. There were so many things wrong with my AC and SMAir fixed all the issues. They are a great company and I highly recommend getting their Remi Halo, which helps with allergies and respiratory issues in the house. Have them check your ducts and yourll be surprised. My house is only 7 years old and I never wouldve guessed my AC had issues. All fixed now and I am so greatful!

Today, I witnessed a miracle. I had a service man come to my house and he checked everything out and told me...Nothing was broken. First time, in a lifetime of service calls where I have been upsold, underestimated and generally played. Apparently the excess humidity we have had over the last 10 days is causing my air conditioner to pull out more water of my house and thus, drain more than usual. Base service charge, minus coupon and have a nice day. I may not have been a big ticket customer today, but that level of service and honesty has ensured they are who I will trust when I do have to replace my unit. Highly recommend. One thing I will recommend to them...Post this kind of information on your social media. It will make following you valuable and save both of us money.

Curtis from SM Air arrived on time and figured out the problem with our heat pump in fairly short time. He got it running again and explained the reasons for the malfunction. He later re-explained everything to my wife who had some questions and also usually maintains the thermostat. We had no complaints.

Curtis came out to do a routine maintenance on my system, when I told him of my concern that sometimes the unit outside seems to have trouble when it’s hot out. And yall know it’s only going to get hotter. He was able to deduce the motor was going out and was able to replace it under warranty within the same visit. SM Air is simply the best!

What a great experience. David was on time, personable, great smile. Very knowledgeable about the dual zone split system. He answered all my questions plus some valuable information about the system that I was not aware of. I feel much more comfortable that this is the system that will fit may needs. Also, the rep that I spoke with on the initial call was very friendly and had David call back within the hour.

The Tech was extremely good and was able to diagnose several problems and repair them quickly. We’ve used San Marcos Air several times and they have always done a great job.

They are very responsive and I used them twice recently. Once for care club to check for A/C performance and unclog a condensation drain pipe. Another for a A/C repair service. Both times Armando came and he’s very professional and provided good quality service. Their price is also reasonable. Glad I found a good company to take care of my HVAC needs.

Contacted SM Air and spoke with David about a new heat pump pair install, he was awesome and took the time to walk me through all I needed to know about the various options. He came onsite the very next day and made sure the systems would work in our home and then provided estimates for us on all the different options available. We also got quotes from an alternative provider and those ended up being a lot more expensive and frankly I liked working with David a lot better. We placed an order with SM Air and both units were installed as promised within the agreed upon timeframe.Aldo and crew were awesome installers, they were very courteous and professional, and the quality of their work was top notch!Couldn’t ask for a better experience, SM Air knows what they are doing!

They did exactly what I asked for and so I can’t ask for much more than that. They showed up early, diagnosed my situation. Once the issues were identified I got with Armando and he gave me a resolution and we got it figured out. Highly recommend.

Our technician, Joshua, was knowledgeable and professional. He was able to assess my unit quickly and made great recommendations. We needed a whole new upgrade on our HVAC system in an old historic building. SM Air was able to provide this and it was a pleasure to work with all their staff. I appreciated the texts and updates that happened throughout the work. Our down time was minimal considering the scope of this job, and they stayed within their estimates of both time and money. I also appreciated the care they took in our space with minimal mess and wear and tear.

Jame along with David, Jared, Mondo, Rick, the manager, and Lucas, the owner, came to the location at least once during the 8 day chore of changing out two of our five HVAC systems in a 70+ year old building. I never heard any of them complain about what needed to be done. But, I did apologized for the conditions that came with this building. Thank you all very much.

We got a new ac, duct replacement and digital thermostat 5 years ago. And seasonal service deal. I let a condensation drain line issue ride, expecting a signuficant expense for repair. Their fix was reasonable but didnt resolve the issue. David came by and we put the permanent fix on it. There is plumbing involved in a/c repair. Im relieved the expense was reasonable, SM air came through. I recommend them without reservation.

Armando was fabulous! At the end of a long and extremely hot day, he prolonged his day to repair our AC. The repair involved driving to pick up a part and returning to make the repair instead of postponing until morning. Our inside temp was 86°. Thanks to Armando, we can stay home tonight!

San Marcos air did a great job with our 3 zone mini split. The product works great. The company was very responsive and was able to turn this project from an inquiry to reality in under a week. Aldo and Hugo completed a full replacement of my HVAC system, finishing their work in the promised time frame. They answered my questions and did a great job of clean-up after the installation.On May 2nd, Armando did a spring cooling check. He was efficient, thorough, and professional. I was completely satisfied.

I contacted SM Air after a visit from Goettl and was told by Goettl I needed to replace my compressor which was only 4 years old and would cost me between $3-$5k to replace even though the parts would be covered under warranty. They also quoted other work that the tech told me would be needed but offered nothing more. James came out and discovered the compressor working fine but also took the time to diagnose the problem I contacted Goettl about in the first place. I called because I wanted to have my condensate line flushed because it was backing up the drain and popping my float switch. This happened 3x in 10 days amid this extreme weather. James discovered something was causing and extreme blockage and informed me of my options after trying to flush it out. After explaining all my options, James gave it one more try to clear the drain and it finally cleared out. Thank you James and SM Air for not only coming out to give me a second opinion but then addressing the issue I was having in the first place. Oh and also if the compressor had needed to be replaced it would have been 1/2 of what Goettl told me it would be to replace it.(This review left my Michael Bowles it will not let me change from my wife’s account.)

Replaced our AC in the house. Not only we’re they quick, and fairly priced they sent someone out to do a quality check the next day and discovered the drain pan hadn’t been replaced. Rather than just leaving the old one they alerted me and said even though it probably wouldn’t ever be a problem they were going to make sure it was taken care of even though it would be quiet labor intensive. All at no extra charge. Highly highly recommend. So many contractors would have skipped the headache of replacing the pan at this point and just moved on and hope it never got noticed

They noticed the blower was growling and encouraged us to take advantage of our warranty and get it fixed.The process was very streamlined from the texts telling you who was coming and when with their picture to follow up calls and emails. Even though it was late in the afternoon, the technician came out to check my A/C and make sure there was a plan in place to remedy a broken compressor. SM Air will work with the manufacturer to find a replacement under warranty which will save me money overall. Great service and continuing relationship.

They were very polite and clean and showed up on time. They wore booties on their feet while inside our house. When they were done they asked for a broom to sweep the area they had worked in. Their diagnostics uncovered a potential problem with a capacitor that was weak and a contactor that was wearing out and starting to arc. They showed me the old parts as they were removed and explained how everything works. They gave me an estimate for all the work and also broke them out in case we wanted to wait on one or both of them. We were extremely impressed and pleased with their knowledge and SERVICE! Brandin and Joshua were prompt, professional, both had good communication skills between themselves and with me the customer. They were knowledgable and onformative about my issue, the cause, potential solutions and benefits and drawbacks to those solutions. Service was recieved within hours of the call but could vary, their system for notifying me of work crew and work order was easy with little hassle or responsibility for me. They not only solved more than the original issue, but also informed me on how to avoid such issues and tricks to deal with them myself.

I have use San Marcos AC many times and I have NEVER been disappointed. Rick and his crew do an amazing job on fixing my AC units, finding a clogged pipe and more. Most recently Josh the on call tech over The Weeknd spent quite a bit of time here twice, chasing down an electrical problem. Josh was determined to find it which he did and even stay behind and wait until I fixed a broken fuse. He said he wasn’t leaving until we had heat because I have kids. That right there just shows you the level of care he has in making sure the job gets done right. If you are using any other company you probably aren’t getting the same level of care and professionalism. I highly recommend.
