Tino was on time and did an excellent job. He was pretty quick with the install of both AC component and thermostat install. He answered all questions I had and was extremely helpful. I will continue to use Quality HVAC and Refrigeration from here on out!

Excellent service call. Our service tech Juan was here just a few hours after we called with an unusual problem regarding possible mold/mildew in the a/c drainage line. Juan was very knowledgeable and helped us solve the problem plus correct some issues we were unaware of. Will use this company again for air conditioning maintenance.

I have been using Quality Hvac for a few years now and their service is always top notch. Recently, Juan came out to diagnose why my 7 year old heating and air conditioning unit was not working. Juan explained that heating/ac units typically last about 7 years and that it was probably time for a new unit. Juan was able to locate a similar unit to the previous one. Juan came out on a Monday and on Friday of the same week he and A.J. had the new unit installed and working properly. Excellent local expertise to keep my unit running strong this summer. The technician team was able to provide technical knowledge about my system diagnostics and operation. They recommend a part replacement but did not push it . I replaced all parts recommend and the 10 year unit warranty kept labor and part cost low.

On time & courteous. Was here 40 min., checked system told me it was clean, charged $75. Then said 3lbs low on freon & clean drain $500! Company NOT local to SM.

Disappointed for the first time. We have a maintenance agreement but this time had to call and remind them that we were due. The capacitor was outside parameters and replacement recommended. Unit (bought from them) still in warranty so part was covered. But they charged us $150 for plugging it in. So already paying two hundred a year for them to come out and check the unit every six months but something as incidental as swapping out a capacitor when they are already here on a visit that I’ve already paid for costs $150? Cheaper to wait until the capacitor fails, pay for the service call and pocket the two hundred dollars each year. If I had called them here for a problem I would understand. If they discovered something that would take some time I would understand. Don’t know whether the company changed hands or just philosophies. Didn’t get Tino this time but the guys they sent were great. Knowledgeable and friendly.

We started using Quality HVA because I couldnt find anyone else to service the evaporative coolers in my hobby greenhouse. We were so impressed that we added the mini-split in my husbands workshop and finally, after a couple of years, we transferred all our business to them. Tino has been providing all our service for several years now - he is capable, thorough, reliable and personable. Over several years he has provided us with maintenance, repair and installation of a new HVAC system. He went above and beyond on his last visit, troubleshooting and fixing the misting system in the greenhouse even though that had nothing to do with the evaporative coolers. We wouldnt use anyone else now.

Quality HVAC is awesome! They nursed our old HVAC along for several years and then we finally had them install a whole new system, ducts and vents. Very professional and quality work. Always polite and on time. I completely trust them to only do needed work and not try to upsell me. They come twice a year for maintenance and cleaning. We’ve been using them over 20 years now. I am shocked this place has so many good reviews. This business is shady and double the price of others. I was charged $150 to come out on the weekend. Dispatch told me $75+$75 for a weekend call. Others are $65 any day of the week. Shame on me for not shopping around first.When the tech was speaking with me he said it’s always $75 no matter the day. I asked why I was charged $150 then he said well it’s $75 for them to come out and inspect, then another $75 if they find something and have to diagnose...The original tech who came out did not confirm the follow up appointment but placed me on a different techs schedule. The new tech had no idea why he was coming to my house, but said I should call the original tech and ask why. Shouldn’t he call and get information about what he’s coming out to fix before arriving? Not sure why that is my job to liaison between employees.Was told a sensor needed to be fixed and the original tech couldn’t fix over the weekend due to needing to order the part. The second tech called and said he didn’t have it, then called back and realized he did have it. $160 later during the second visit replacing the sensor, the tech said many other things were wrong with my heater. I was told to expect 5-6 hours of work (at 75/hr) plus parts and labor.I had a different company come out for FREE and give a second opinion. Night and day difference in communication, documentation, and educating me. The second company said everything was fine, nothing needed to be fixed. I feel truly taken advantage of and I plan to share this with my landlord network in the San Marcos and surrounding areas because nobody should have to deal with shady and dishonest businesses.

Ive worked with multiple companies in restaurant repair, ONLY USE THEM. THEY DO IT RIGHT COMPLETELY.I used restaurant repair company from San antonio, they diagnosed my walk-ins issue wrong, charged me triple of what these guys did, and they didnt even fix my walk in.I love them so much, even the people on the phone are so understanding and lovely.

The service was great, but I got charged three different times for the service and have not heard back from Quality HVAC on this issue.

Tino from Quality HVAC was very professional and kind. He was punctual. Texted AND called to let me know he was 20mins away! He worked quickly and answered all my questions. Tino also emailed me quotes for a new AC unit within 30mins of him leaving my house. This company and its employees went above and beyond to help me. Quality HVAC has been taking care of our needs since 1984 when AJ’s dad installed it in our house! Because of their service and maintenance the first unit lasted until 2020. 36 years! I would HIGHLY recommend this company!

I have been trying to contact this company and they will not answer any phone calls. To top it off I have been waiting for them to schedule the appointment for almost a week and they texted me last night at 10:30pm to tell me that the next day I was scheduled for an appointment from 3pm-8pm. Less than 24hrs notice and no one will be home over the majority of that time. They did not check if it was a good time or even ask when I would be at my house. This is highly unacceptable and all around unprofessional. When I called the next morning to try to get them to make sure the service technician would come at a later time, but I was on hold over 45 minutes and never spoke to one person the system would keep taking me back to the automated menu. If it is your businesses hours of operation I should be able to speak with someone.

Performed fall maintenance on house and casita A/C units, evaporative coolers in greenhouse and minisplit in workshop. Identified issues that need to be addressed as part of a thorough maintenance check. Nothing but praise for the quality of work that they always do.

We recently had a ReMe halo system installed in our new home, my family and I suffer from terrible allergies and were having a tough time getting over the flu. These guys were our assigned contractor through American Home Shield. They were supposed to call to schedule within 24-48 hours. They never called (even after six days). I emailed them. They said someone would be calling, but wouldnt schedule by email. I called them during their very limited scheduling hours and was on hold for an entire hour (between 7am and 8am). No one ever picked up the call. Eventually we were reassigned to another HVAC contractor. I dont know anything about their actual repair service, but their scheduling and response time is HORRIBLE.

I googled and randomly chose this company when I was without AC at your lake house! They came out within the hour on a Saturday and fixed my problem quickly! Wonderful service with friendly and knowledgeable technicians! Highly recommend Ismeal!

Here is a wholly positive review on a local company. I have received no “scratch” whatsoever for this review. I simply want to relay a great recommendation for a local company, and given the cost of doing a full-house system, decided to spend the time to do it thoroughly.After moving to Texas and then purchasing a home in NB, we decided our HVAC system needed to be replaced in its entirety. We did a lot of research online and also asked for recommendations from realtor friends. We settled on requesting bids from QHR and two other companies. QHR was not the least expensive, nor the most expensive - but was absolutely the most thorough and professional. One San Antonio company “phoned it in” with a completely cursory inspection of our home. No surprise, they were the most expensive bidder. Another company (Austin) was professional but unable or unwilling to provide multiple choices for our needs, and also struggled with timely communication and proposal delivery.Quality HVAC & Refrigeration was also recommended to us by our appliance installer, John Rodriguez, who commented on how honest these guys are. We found out that is true!From QHR, we asked for two heat pump proposals to choose from including A) 1-1 replacement of existing 5 Ton Trane unit, B) 1-2 replacement with two 2.5 Ton units. We also asked for options for repairing/replacing/rerouting the entire ductwork system, and adding an Aprilaire whole-house filter, and adding a Remi Halo UV device.From the first interaction, I felt the company was looking out for our interests. They crawled into every nook and cranny to understand how they might run ductwork, additional air returns and install the air handler(s) and condenser for optimum efficiency in our unusually constructed mid-century-modern house design.After multiple proposal/review cycles over a week or two we settled on a plan, equipment, pricing and timing, and made arrangements to vacate ourselves and our pets for a few days. AJ Espinoza (Owner), Tino Rivera (Primary Designer & Installer), plus two helpers (Christian and Oscar), showed up exactly on time on install day with every needed piece of equipment, parts, tools and floor/carpet protection gear.Over 3 days the team removed all traces of the old system (including having to dismantle an ancient heavy air handler/coil in the attic to get it down our interior steps), and installed the new system. This included moving power wiring, new coolant lines, a new condenser pad, several new air returns, and a new Nest control system. The existing galvanized drain pan and condensation drain plumbing were reused.After running-in the system a few days, Tino and Oscar then returned to “tune” the house, including installing two upstairs volume dampers and one additional air return to balance the whole house flow. All at no additional charge. (BTW, the competitive pricing we received from QHR was further reduced by offer of a veterans discount AFTER we had agreed on a price. Tino noticed my US Army license plates, thanked me for my service, and then volunteered the additional discount.)Net: We are very pleased with the new system. The house feels cool and dry and smells fresh, even with pets, humidity from river proximity, and NB’s quarry dust challenges. QHR did everything they were asked, and did it efficiently and with zero drama. We highly recommend AJ and Tino
