Double the price of others for a basic AC service call, but thought Id get more out of it, but quite the opposite. Technician never called during the visit to discuss. We called after getting the invoice and aggressive up-sold recommendations. Got an answering service, explained our questions. Another technician called back while driving between stops after hours but unprepared and unfamiliar with our service call and said someone would call us the following Monday, but no one did. We called again and finally got a call back another day later. The technician had poor explanations for the recommendations, but said hed address my issues and theyd send an email to correct said issues with the recommendations. 2 more days passed and no correction, no email, no follow up call. It would seem they did not want my business after being called out for upselling.We have since called another company who responded in under 24 hours, called during the visit, was prepared to do actual services, and charged half the price for the service call, and half the price for 2 of the 4 services rendered that Air Authority had over-aggressively recommended and provided quotes. The other air/heating company also questioned the other 2 recommended services by Air Authority, sharing evidence from testing the system that nothing was wrong, including 3 lbs of refrigerant and sealant for a supposed leak.Go read their reviews on Yelp - our experience is not unique and there is evidence that many of these great Google reviews are fabricated.

Jeff was blunt and honest! Good as always - we prefer our usual tech Chris who is Great but understand we cannot always get him and after some bad experiences he is the one we want but this young man was good.

Chris and his assistant provided excellent service and gave helpful information regarding our systems. Over the years, Chris has proven very trustworthy, and he is great with communication. We are thankful to use Air Authority!

Jeff was great. I thought I simply couldn’t set my thermostat, but it turned out it had to be replaced. He did a very thorough job of testing things and figured out what was wrong , got a better (simpler for me) thermostat and helped me set it and understand how to change it. I’ve used Air Authoriy when they were Rite away for years and always have found them to be wonderful folks as well as great technicians.

I recently purchased the Priority Plus Membership which includes two annual maintenance check ups along with several other perks for being a member. I had my first scheduled maintenance last Friday by one of their technicians (Dustin) and had a great experience. Casey, the Air Authority technician, is someone we completely trust with maintenance and recommendations for our HVAC system. He was part of the initial installation several years ago and has regularly been assigned to complete the semi-annual spring and winter checks. Out system has worked flawlessly for nearly 10 years and we think it is in large part to Casey and other Air Authority technicians conducting regular checks. The technicians are always respectful of our property and after their thorough checks, they always explain what they did and the condition of our system.

I contacted Air Authority for duct cleaning services. Called and talked to Tina on Monday and she was able to squeeze an appointment in for me on Wednesday. The team sent out was on time, professional and efficient. The entire process from start to finish was effortless. Will definitely use Air Authority again in the future and highly recommend!

Whole experience was great - the people at the office scheduled us quickly, and the person they had me talk to (Michael?) spent a good deal of time talking to me about the issues we were having. Air Smith merged with Air Authority approximately about 2 years or so ago. After being with Air Smith for over 25 years, we had a lot of anxiety with a new company. However, my past couple of encounters with Air Authority have been wonderful. The customer service and professionalism is very much part of their company. They have welcomed us with open arms and it is very much appreciated. Dustin Jackson was great. He was super nice, sincere and professional. It is nice to meet their technicians. Chris immediately responded to check out our AC unit that had stopped running. He recommended a capacitor saver and also that we call an electrician to have our main breaker checked which was tripping. We had both the breaker and capacitor saver installed and we were back running again.

I called Air Authority regarding condensation from my interior A/C unit. Danny Smith came out the same day to access the issue. He suggested a minor fix that I could do myself to save money! He also explained their maintenance agreement, which I readily signed. My A/C unit is now worry free! Thank you Danny!

My home is 45 years old and I called air Authority since I was not happy with the airflow in each of my rooms, especially in the back three where I didn’t get any airflow. The rooms were either too cold or too hot, depending upon the weather. I’m very careful who I call out to my home; therefore, I check the Better Business Bureau. Air Authority, LLC came over, surveyed the layout of the attic and completed measurements of the rooms and vents. After explaining what needs to be done and answering questions, they brought to my attention two major defects that need to be fixed on the a/c unit in the attic. With that said, I decided to contract them, and I’m glad I did. Their entire team showed professionalism and pride in their workmanship getting the job done right. The air ducts are working nicely in all the rooms now. I need to thank everyone who worked at my home and stayed with me on a Friday, past 5 p.m. After the job was finished my a/c unit stopped working and the techs stayed with me until another technician came over from Air Authority and fixed the problem. The issue was my thermostat! The people who work at this company are not only knowledgeable, considerate, and courteous, but also caring and trustworthy.Continued: 11/3/23Danny from Air Authority came over and gave a complete a/c system check for the winter. He is smart, friendly and knows his job well.UPDATE:09/13/24Two years ago, I purchased an a/c unit.The unit was warranted for 10 years on parts and one year on labor. Approximately a year ago , I switched from the company I originally bought the unit. I did not care for their technicians or their staff. Prior to making the change from the original company, I called Air Authority to check the back bedrooms since there was no air flow from the ceiling registers. I then contracted with Air Authority to change & reconfigure the ductwork. At that time, Air Authority found a major flaw with the installation of the carbon monoxide pipe which Air Authority then fixed to Code. We keep the thermostat permanently set at 78 ° for cooling and 71° for heat. Lately, we have not been very comfortable even with fans on. The week of August 18 -24, 2024, temperatures in San Antonio were off the grid and the a/c unit was extremely loud. Sunday morning, the 25, we called Air Authority and the technician came over and found the coils frozen. Again, two days later the a/c stopped working and refroze. The coils were replaced, but this time the compressor broke down after the gauge registered within the proper limits prior to the coils being replaced. There are only Lemon Laws for vehicles not air conditioners.Not only did management and staff, at Air Authority, care for our well-being; but, also, the team of technicians displayed compassion, dedication, and respect to their company, to each other, and their customer. The men worked hours in a hot attic changing out the unit, doing minor carpentry, fitting pipes, adding additional wire to the system, and cleared any debris before leaving. They stayed at the job even when it was time to go home. You can rely on their service getting the job finished without short cuts. Was a great experience, from the time I called to the service being performed. Being a holiday weekend figured my chances were slim to none based on experience with AC company I used to use in the past. The tech called me promptly and let me know what time he could be out to look at my ac unit.The technicians name was Lawrence. Lawrence gave me a arrival time and contacted me when he was headed my way and approximate arrival time. When Lawrence arrived he went to work straight away and fixed the problem ASAP. Lawrence was polite and knowledgeable, explained the whole problem and what he did to fix it. Thank you Lawrence for a job well done!

The technician was polite and respectful, however, he left the backyard gate open and our dog got out. Luckily, we noticed before anything bad happened. He did not include the pictures of his work with the invoice. The unit now has new problems and is not working properly.

Danny is THE MAN ! I always ask for him because he really knows his stuff when it comes to our individually owned HVAC systems in our hi-rise condos, which are heat pumps with water- circulation. They are NOT the same as regular heat pumps! He is friendly and confident, and I always learn something new about my system!

7/6/23--WORST TIME FOR A/C problems--the companies are extremely busy. A/C drain line was clogged (wet carpet was the telltale sign). After trying to get the water to drain ourselves, nothing worked. Husband called Airesmith to see if they could send someone out. He was told someone would call back. I called them after a long while to see if they would be able to send someone out or if I needed to look for someone else. I explained to Shannon our situation, we are both in our 70s and cannot be without a/c. She was very understanding and said she would see what she could do. Within 15 minutes she called back and said she would send out a tech but it could take a couple of hours. She suggested we turn off system to prevent further damage, but house gets too hot, so we did some rigging to keep water from overflowing. It took maybe about 1 hour for the tech Chris to arrive. He took care of the problem and was done in less than 1 hour.Overall, we are very grateful and even signed up for maintenance plan.Shannon was nice and understanding. Chris was also very nice, professional, and did an awesome job. Thank you Shannon, John, and Chris.

Called and service Rep came out right away. Spent a significant amount of time reviewing my 11 to 12 year old system. Was able to explain everything company was going to do. Very pleasant and knowledgeable. Gave us two different estimates and explained financing options. We decided to go with Airesmith. All staff we contacted were very pleasant and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Jeff was terrific. He worked very quickly but carefully. He obviously knew what he was doing and got straight to the problem. Don’t know how you get much better than that.

Chris is an awesome technician. He really is very knowledgeable about heating and air conditioning units. He has kept our systems in A-1 shape! We are very impressed with his expertise and honesty about our systems.

Just wants your money! Tech came around 4pm and left around 5pm. AC stopped working by sunset and so I called them in the morning and asked for them to come back. They came out next morning but couldn’t do anything to fix the issue and still charged me an additional $89 on top of the $159 the day before.

I called for a diagnostic for my HVAC, got an appointment and the guy came out. He looked at my unit and said the one piece was from 2014 and the other from 2008 and that’s why my house wasn’t cooling. He set me up to replace the whole HVAC for 10k. My house still wasn’t cooling, I asked him to run the camera through the ducts to see if there was a tear he only ran the camera through one part of the duct and said call us if the problem still persists. I did not call them again. I called someone else and sure enough the duct connect to the HVAC was completely ripped up. All the air from the unit was going into my ceiling. It was $250 to repair. I could have saved TEN thousand dollars had the guy correctly diagnosed my issue! I wish you could return an HVAC system but it just doesn’t work that way, get a second opinion!

Jeff Cutcher performed extraordinarily well. He found the issue with our 19-month furnace which had never performed well since installation. He worked tirelessly during a sub freezing spell until he found the issue. He and his boss Robert are great examples of professionalism

This is the 3rd seasonal A/C checkup theyve done for me. All have been terrific and this one, done by Chris Withrow was outstanding. Hes professional, thorough, polite. I didnt need any service calls last year and am confident the same is true now. See you in 6 months, Chris, for the winter prep.

I looked on Carrier’s website and they were listed as a service provider. They came out same day. Jeff was a great guy. Charged a flat fee of $209 since my part was under warranty. It’s currently cooling now. I expect Ill use them again in the future!

Communication was excellent from Tina and Christi in the office on scheduling and follow up of our service. Danny Smith was my technician for this recent service. Our a/c went out on the morning of the 4th of July, so I wasn’t hopeful that I could get anyone out, and understandably so. Danny called me though and explained that he would have happily come out but he was already completely booked with the record heat we’ve been having and the issues it’s been causing on everyone’s systems. I could tell that he was actually disappointed that he couldn’t come out and help us get our system up and running faster. He came out the next day (today) and was on time, extremely professional, and very knowledgeable. It’s never fun having to service major appliances in your home, but having great service techs really takes a lot of the discomfort away. Grateful to Danny for the work he did to restore our system and for Air Authorities quality of work.

We had called AireSmith when our regular air conditioning company wasn’t able to figure out our issues with our ecobee system. Chris came out, fixed our issues, explained everything to where even I could understand. We haven’t had any issues since and are now having AireSmith handle all our air conditioning maintenance. Chris came out today for our winter checkup. Always a pleasure talking to him and he’s very thorough, making sure all our questions are answered.

TLDR; amazing company , employees with integrity, fair pricingOur AC went out and we have a newborn. We had a horrible experience with a big box company that had emergency service so I asked local FB group for referrals for a local family owned business. Several suggested AireSmith!I called late at night and the owner (I think) called me back that same night and was sympathetic to the situation and had a tech out the next morning. Chris came, and he could NOT have been better!!! This is a man of integrity, compassion, and knowledge. He took the time to explain how things work so I could actually understand what was going on and what he was looking for, and how he came to the conclusions he did. This man spent 2 hours doing absolutely everything he could to try to get my AC running so I could buy some time while we figure out what to do and keep my baby cool. It is rare that a technician will treat you so good.At the end of the day we did need a new unit but the fact that he took so much of his time to try everything, was so thorough, transparent, and kind really blew me away. Chris deserves all the praise and recognition possible.Not only that, the quote for the new AC, comparable specs to the one the big box company tried to do a hard sell on, was almost half the price…. This company values your dollar and is more than fair. He never tried to pressure me into anything, he presented all my options.We are still deciding what route to take but I would not hesitate to use this company and I will recommend to everyone I know.

We have been so happy with Airesmith. They have installed a mini split and replaced our central a/c at our home as well as done duct cleanings and maintenance. Erin in the office has been very helpful and kept me updated on all appointments. Every tech has been so nice and very professional! I very highly recommend them and would give more stars if I could!!

We’ve been using this company for years to have our AC checked & maintained twice a year. They give you a 5 HOUR window of when they’ll arrive and will call ONLY ONCE in that 5 HOUR window when they’re on their way. If you aren’t by your phone the minute they call they CANCEL YOUR APPT and move on to the next.We rescheduled our day for them to be here and waited 3 hours for their call, I happened to run outside for 2 minutes and missed their call so now our appt is CANCELED!!The owner John Smith called and admitted that’s how they do business and was not willing to accommodate whatsoever saying we’d have to reschedule to another day. When I told him that wasn’t very professional HE TOLD ME TO FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!!! He obviously doesn’t care about taking care of his loyal clients. BIG MISTAKE!! Definitely will not do business with this company again!!!!

I just recently learned that AIRESMITH was bought by Air Authority. Im glad to see all of Airesmith staff with Air Authority. Chris has been to my house several times either when I had issues or for our routine biannual maintenance. Called this morning our outside unit was not coming on. They were able to send someone out that day. After an inspection and checks it was determined the outside unit wasnt getting the right voltage from my thermostat. Inside unit was pushing right voltage so looked at the junction box that connects the outside to the inside unit and found one of the wires loose and not connected to the second wire. Chris connected the wires secured it and the outside unit started and was receiving the correct voltage. I hope Air Authority provides great customer support as AIRESMITH has done over the years I have had service with them

When he came to the door he rang the door bell, I answered and he introduced himself and waited for me to invite him in. I say this because numerous contractors have tried to barge right on in the door after I open it. I find that extremely rude and disrespectful. Jeff was very kind, friendly and respectful. Before he started he described to me the different services that could be provided for my HVAC system and what was included in each service. I showed him where the system was located and he worked quickly and independently. He took pictures of everything he serviced. He was able to answer all of my questions. I’ve been a customer of Air Authority for over 5 years - starting with my first home. Recently, my AC system went out. It happened on a Saturday night, and AA was there early Sunday morning to diagnose. My unit was over 17 years old, and they walked me through fix or replace options in-depth. No hard sales, no pressure, just what was best for me.We ended up going with a new system install, and on the day of the install, one of the needed parts was stuck on a truck at the local warehouse. Air Authority physically went to the warehouse to help get that part off the truck to ensure we had air conditioning rather than wait. We had just come home from the hospital with a newborn, so having air conditioning was very important. They got it done by every means necessary.To summarize, here’s what I’ll say. Drain pan plugged up and wouldn’t drain off condensation, called office first thing next morning and they sent Chris out. He explained everything needed and checked everything out while here. When we discovered our Carrier A/C had stopped working, we phoned Air Authority and they (Rose) set us up with a priority appointment. The Technician, Juan, contacted us before he came over and when he showed up he performed a visual examination and a complete testing of our unit. He accurately diagnosed the problem and thoroughly explained our options to us. We then paid a fair and reasonable Service Call fee.After sweltering overnight, we recontacted Air Authority and reset another appointment. Juan recontacted us and returned with the required part in hand and repaired our unit. He then retested and re-inspected our unit and completed the billing. The Technician arrived in the early afternoon and found our unit had frozen up. He thawed it out, checked the all reading were correct and had us back with cool air again. Other company came in gave me an outrageous estimate. A Friend to me to call Air Authority and have them take a look and sure glad I did. They came out on time took a look at my system, showed me the problem and gave me an estimate that was almost 65 percent less then the estimate those other guys gave me. llThey has me up and running within two hours and that included the time it took to go get the part they needed. This is the most unprofessional company Ive ever met. Casey the red head make all types of false promises knowing our medical situation in our home last night. He pride himself so much on how detailed he was in measuring and making sure all went smoothly before an install! He had many request from me removing a door to get to the A.C. at an additional cost of nearly 400.00. I went ahead and hired my friend who did it for free. So after making a HUGE mess in my home for six hours. They realized he( Cassey) measured WRONG and asked for am additional $2,000 dollars to get a different unit or down grade with a difference of $300.00. Our home looks like a war zone and my very sick on a ventilator baby has to endure this Texas heat. We will have to find another company with honest and with Real customer service asap! I will have take my child with all her medical machines and nurses to stay in a hotel tonight. I urge anyone reading this review to stay away from heartless, uncompassinate and unprofessional company. They left me in the middle of July in this situation. It is truly heartbreaking and surreal the company owner and his step son can do this horrible thing. His own staff was beyond embarrassed and felt horrible seeing what was done today.........

We have had Riteway service our AC and Heating unit for more than 10 years. They are always on time and even available on the weekend if I have a problem. They do maintenance on our 17 year old system twice a year and help manage problems before the cause outages on our system. The repairs required are lower cost because problems are discovered early and they keep our system running at full capacity. I highly recommend them. If someone tells you that you need a new system, call Riteway first. A repair might be all that is necessary.

Theyre either completely dishonest or technically inept. Either way, Ill never use them again. I called them based on their high recommendations from the universal city Facebook page. My downstairs HVAC unit was inoperable. The tech arrived and initially diagnosed a short and blown fuse in the blower. He allegedly changed the fuse (at a price of $200) and then proceeded to tell me that my circuit board on the outside unit is blown. But not to worry, they can replace it for the low price of $600+ along with a $71 part acquisition fee (for a part thats covered under warranty?), and that the blown board might not be the only thing wrong; I might need a new thermostat (at a cost of $300!), along with other uncertainties. The tech didnt instill any degree of confidence in me. I also observed him seemingly staring off into space while at his van multiple times. Anyhow, I tentatively agreed to them pursuing the blown board because, what do I know? I later called a friend who knows HVAC stuff. He was able to obtain a new board and install it, so I tell Airesmith to stand down. My friend arrives with the new board, only to tell me the board in question is completely fine. Not blown in the slightest. I ultimately went with an entirely different company to solve the problem because my friend didnt have time to diagnose (but he did recommend a trusted company who did earn my trust at a reasonable price). The ultimate fix had nothing to do with the board or the outside unit, and was relatively simple. So, I paid $200 to learn that Ill never use Airesmith ever again. They might have some technicians who are good, but they sure burned a bridge with me. Oh, and now I have a spare board... hooray!

Im a new customer and i only used them since my homeowner policy sent them to me, so this is a totally unbiased objective opinion, obviously.this companys tech person showed up on time and less than 24 hrs from when i initially talked to them--the previous *3*, yes 3, hvac firms either never contacted me or canceled their initial check up appointment... so on the 4th try, the third party insurance firm got me in touch with Airesmith... i wish other firms could be as quick and follow- through as they said they would like the Airesmith people!! Like clock work, the office lady said the part my gas heater needed would arrive in about 7 days from out of state (its an old unit the part is hard to come by) .. sure enough, on day 7 the tech crew arrived to install said part!. the hassle of dealing with unit warranties and insurance companies was kept to a minimum due to Airesmith office staff.. so yeah, im very happy of course with this crew. ill be getting an estimate for a full hvac system upgrade / install from them in the coming year. so far so good 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟!! ps yes the house is warm and comfortable during this cold snap ❄.

Used them a couple of months ago because my AC went out. They are a company that works with my home warranty, American Home Shield. Got an appointment quickly. The guy showed up on time and fixed it the first time. So far so good.

But they had suggestions and utilized fear tactics to get me to pay $1000+ in fixes... i smiled and thanked them for thier suggestions. I then called Air Authority for a 2nd opinion. Casey from Air Authority came to the house, very professional and in the biz for 12yrs; he analyzed the problems and SAW NO PROBLEMS! In fact, he identified some valve had no end caps, which could leak my freon. (Where did they go??)His only suggestion was a new capacitor ($200+) [they start going bad after 4+yrs] and mine was not working at optimum levels.He proposed a upgraded capacitor and a start up kit to help prolong the life of capacitor. Thats it. I went for it, and this company saved me $$$.A+++ for Air Authority.
