My god I wish I had read these reviews before ever stepping foot in this place!!! Believe every negative review you read on here and avoid this place at all costs! I was referred to this place by a coworker, and in desperate need of getting my car repaired i took it here without doing my research, shame on me. This place is a complete scam, I honestly do not know how they are in business. They fail in every aspect of customer service, they will laugh in your face, give you the run around, and hang up on you. Till this day I do not know what was done to my vehicle, every time i speak with someone I get a different answer, there is no clear record of anything, they will bill you in a lump sum which is were youll get ripped off, because they wont share with you the cost of the parts they purchased. The invoice is one line for parts and one line for labor, i cant even tell you what parts were replaced. The lack of transparency on the invoice is beyond me. Every customer should know what parts you had replaced, the cost of those parts, and an accurate representation of labor costs, not just some random numbers they come up with to equal the outrageous total they quote you after getting stuck with a $900 labor fee if you refuse to move forward with the actual transmission rebuild.After getting a call the first week from them that my vehicle was ready because they wanted me to have it back before the holiday, i told them that i couldnt get it on Friday and would pick it up on Monday. But when Monday comes around my car is all of a sudden not ready anymore. How does that even happen? They alleged there were issues with my vehicle that they could not themselves figure out. Two weeks later and my car is at another shop in Seguin with out my knowledge for another set of eyes. Another two weeks pass and my car is ready, and they didnt hesitate to express the headache my vehicle gave their employees, isnt that reassuring to hear! My car was a complete mess upon pick up, with 6 miles till E, and they told me your sunroof is broken, it wont close. Why the hell are they even opening my sunroof for a transmission rebuild? They said it like it was my problem that they opened it and broke it! I can only assume they took my car for a joyride for an entire month!!! I took my car straight to the car wash, cleaned it out and found a du-rag in my back seat, disgusting!I have never regretted doing business with a company as much as I have with this place. Not once did my check engine light ever turn on during the issues i had with my transmission. The next day after getting my car back the light turned on. I called and told them and they said it never turned on with us. After taking it in a couple of times because the light kept turning on, they said it was just a bad sensor and offered to replace it so that they could get rid of me without addressing the actual issue. They do not care about your vehicle, they do not care about honesty, they do not care about you as a customer, they only care about getting the most money possible from you, especially if you are a female! Also, the warranty is a joke, I highly recommend seeking and trusting actual professionals with your vehicle, time and money.

I had a great experience at Aamco on Rigsby. John was very helpful to me. I had my car in for a transmission problem and CarShield did not want to pay for the entire transmission and John worked it out that I was not out over 1000 dollar. So I take my 2015 infinity QX60. To the professionals they told me I had a bad transmission and need to replace my front CV joints. I paid them $7000 and still hearing noises took it back, and now the professionals tell me the front differential is bad. Who do you trust? They took me for a bad ride. Pay them all that money and I believe all along it was my front differential. What do I do? Cant trust anybody.

AAMCO on Rigsby are some of the best mechanics in the business. Tyler is an honest man that will get the job done. One of my sons took his Chevy truck to get the transmission fixed they did a good job, truck runs great. I took my Chevy Tahoe to get fixed, the mechanics there got the job done right. I highly recommend anyone looking for an honest, no bull, professional mechanic shop, AAMCO on Rigsby is the place for your vehicle.

Excellent and transparent service! I typically try to pinpoint a problem before reaching out for any outside help and when I realized the issue I had was outside of my scope of capability I started looking for quotes. I initially called asking for quotes to a few local companies and they all just quoted me the cost of repair and told me the job would take 3+ business days.When I called Aamco, with the same questions, Tyler was asking a few different questions to determine if we even needed to do that type of repair since that would be more costly than others. I appreciated that he was already showing transparency and not trying to upsell a service that potentially wasn’t needed.Brought the truck in and Alex greeted me and got my information. I brought the truck in a bit later in the afternoon so I ended up leaving it overnight for inspection. They called me the next day with quote and it definitely was the more expensive fix but they not only took care of that issue, they fixed another less urgent one we had on our to do list. They replaced the parts and had my truck back to me within 24hours.Bless their hearts for putting up with all of my annoying youtube university questions and answering them without making me feel stupid for asking.As a woman, I typically hate having to deal with any kind of mechanical company because I have always been quoted/charged more than my husband for the same services but Aamco definitely did not treat me like that.Thank y’all again for your prompt and respectful service. 100% recommend

Avoid this place at all cost, they promise to inspect your transmission for free, then they remove it and want to charge you when you dont want to do the work with them.

In the past I have used them & had very good experiences but this last time my experience was very different. They did a good job a first but I had to take my truck back & was told they would call me in a couple of days but never heard anything so I had to call back again was told the technician working on my truck called in sick, would hear something the next day but didnt hear anything so I had to call back again was told my truck was taken to a shop in Seguin and would be ready in a day are two but it was a week later, never was called finally I called again & was told my truck was back at the San Antonio shop but was not ready yet, finally when I called back they told me my truck was ready, but now my truck is making a noise that it never made before they worked on it.

I want to say a huge thankyou to Tyler and their team! They were having a huge work load of vehicles but despite a little long wait. they still went above and beyond to get my truck back to me as quickly and best quality as possible. from day one i entrusted them because of the details and knowledge Tyler had displayed on their expertise. I will admit i was a little impatient as it was my only vehicle but you cant rush good honest work, which is what these guys offer and i cant argue with the great results and quality of the work. Again, a huge thanks to Tyler and the whole team at Rigsby. I would love to use this shop and highly recommend they are down to earth and understand and do their best. but as a customer we have to see the bossiness perspective as well. but they did off outstanding quality work which is the overall goal and great customer service, i highly recommend. Despite having a LOT of work on their hands already, the AAMCO team was happy to take the time to do a thorough diagnostic on my car’s transmission. The employees were all very professional and helpful, and they made it clear that customer satisfaction is important to them. Highly highly highly recommend!!! Im driving cross-country in a Class C RV and had a fluid leak. I went to a mechanic prior and they were not sure where the leak was coming from. I dropped it off at AAMCO with Tyler and within a few hours they identified the leak and repaired it and I was good to keep driving. Such an awesome team here and I could not recommend them enough! Definitely come here!

After having our vehicle for two weeks, they said they couldn’t find the part and “didn’t know what to tell us.” We had the vehicle towed to our house, ordered the part online, and fixed it ourselves the next day. We’ve had work done with them in the past with no issues but this time was a completely different experience. Tyler was rude, dismissive, and we really just wasted two weeks with them. Loved their service before so not sure what’s happened since but we won’t be returning.

I had to get my engine replaced in my vehicle. I called and spoke with Tyler. He was super helpful. He was able to communicate with the insurance company and get everythigs taken care of. Once they received the engine they were able to have my vehicle ready in a few days. They have since followed up to make sure everything was running. I was pleased with the service and customer service they provided.

My truck was making a grinding noise. The guys at AAMCO tested the vehicle and corrected the problem. I didnt have an appointment, but they handled my issue quickly. Friendly service!

I began having transmission problems very suddenly in my SUV a few weeks ago and was unable to drive further than a few miles. My family and I have been loyal to another mechanic shop for many years but that shop was across town, forcing me to use google maps. AAMCO Transmissions was 3 miles away and these reviews convinced me to call and the friendly and eager customer service got me in the door. From the beginning, I felt at ease. John and the staff explained themselves, explained the details and the process each time a step was completed and they were good about keeping me updated. Turns out my truck required extensive transmission repair but was finished within a week, which was great. The warranty being the best part for me. Unfortunately I began having a transmission hot dash sensor occurring after driving my vehicle just a few days and I did have to return to AAMCO. Of course I was upset and had my doubts about the repair. The reason why I gave 5 stars was because when I brought my truck in for the 2nd time, John and staff were completely empathetic and honored the warranty with absolutely no push back and never did I feel like I regretted the choice of AAMCO. My SUV drives amazingly now and I highly recommend this company and this location.

Tyler and his guys went above and beyond to diagnose my moms Escape for free and it turned out to be the motor mount on the trans. Let me know it was only 1 mount and we decided to get both. They shipped one mount wrong and they went ahead and added it for her for free. They are a true blessing and we all could use that now a days! Amazing Job At first I was bothered by the price to get my transmission rebuild but its been well over 3 months and I have drove my vehicle across the country. The reviews are accurate! I was told by the dealership where I purchased my vehicle that the tensioner on the serpentine belt was going out in my vehicle, however I wanted a second opinion as I had experienced far too many issues with this dealership since purchasing my vehicle. I called about a dozen other mechanics in San Antonio and all of them wanted to charge me $100 for a diagnostic even though I just wanted them to look at that one specific part. These gentlemen confirmed the issue for me at no charge. On top of that, they were not only professional but they were enthusiastic, upbeat and they made it very clear that customer satisfaction is important to them. They absolutely earned every good review posted. When in San Antonio, I will not go anywhere else. They are just genuinely good people. 😊

I live in Houston and had my truck with transmission issues in San Antonio. I looked at reviews for transmission shops and this one had many if not all positive reviews. So, now I am writing my own. Great service and very quick to do the repairs. Tony was very helpful in sending me pictures of what was wrong with the transmission and very fair priced. His technicians were very helpful as well, waiting for me to arrive from Houston to get some paperwork from my truck. This shop lives up to its reputation! Also informed us to bring it back in 10 days to follow-up with us to ensure everything was still in good shape. Great job!

We used this location back in July 2020. they picked up my car and diagnosed it right away. they even let me see the damage that happened in our transmission and gave us a quote and time frame and parts ordered fast and was done as stated. i had many questions and they were all answered and made me feel i could trust them. Great customer service and great mechanics. When contacting AAMCO office with a check engine light concern I spoke with Alex and was happy to hear he was able to get me in right away. I ended up having to have transmission work done and they did an excellent job in the promised timeframe. Tyler explained the warranty and the work that was completed thoroughly to my understanding. I have never had such a good experience with a shop before. First off, every time I called I was greeted kindly. They walked me through the process of what I needed to do and answered all my questions without hesitation. They made what would have been a nightmare situation seem very calm and easy. They offered their services to drive me home since my car was staying there. Which I appreciated very much! They called to update me. They made sure my warranty company gave me the best and they communicated with them continuously. Upon pick up they showed me my old transmission and explained everything clearly to my understanding. All I can say is this shop goes above and beyond for their customers and Im so glad to have found an honest place.Oh and theres a Whataburger across the street. Today I had my car at this AAMCO for an oil change which was done quickly and I have made arrangements for some other work to be done in a few weeks. My contacts in the last two years with this company have been very good and they are always willing to answer any questions that I have. The contacts that I have had with Charles and Tony and other employees there have always been good. They are always counteous and willing to help you in any way they can. I trust them and will recommend them to other people in my area...Courtesy to the customer and good work at a reasonable price are so important in this day and time. I will continue to take my car to them for any repairs.

This is a lovely location with a very kind and accommodating staff. I brought my car in with very little notice and was given immediate attention and assurance.Two lights had lit in my dash and other shops in my neighborhood didn’t know what the issue could be without charging me (one shop quoted $100 just to start!). AAMCO ran the codes on my vehicle and gave it a test drive before settling in to give it a more thorough inspection - all for free.Once we determined the problem and the time it would take they even arranged a way for me to get home until it was ready for pick up. Prices were fair and I felt very well cared for. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend them!

I recently had the transmission in my old 95 ford truck rebuilt with these guys. The did the service in the time frame promised and for the price estimated. They found a fuel leak that they repaired for a very reasonable price. The day I picked up the truck it had a problem when I stopped to do some shopping. I called Tony and he had a tow truck pick up my truck. The next day they found a wire that had been pinched and grounded. They fixed that at no cost.All companies have a problem once in a while. It is how they take care of that problem that really counts.I am very happy with the service I received and will recommend them to anyone that wants quality work done.

We had a great experience and Tony did everything he could to make replacing a transmission as painless as possible. We needed a new transmission for a Chevy from the 90s and he worked with us to find what we needed. When the first transmission didnt work, they got another one, installed it, fixed the cooling problem, and now it is as good as new. Great customer service here!

EXCELLENT SERVICE!! I first came here for transmission work as this place was recommended from a good friend. I was so impressed with the customer service that Tyler Clay provided. From a technical stand point AAMCO has provided great service to all my repairs/replacements and I have had no issues with any of their work. Tyler has always treated me the same way as he did the first time I walked in. I would have to be in desperate need to have anyone else touch my expedition.

Took my 1999 GMC Sierra Z71 to this shop at the recommendation of my Nephew. I had a metal scraping sound that would happen after I made turns or if I hit a bump. We had looked to see if we could tell what the problem was but were unable to determine. Tyler called me after a few hours telling me it was the front bearings and hubs that were really worn and needed replacing as well as my front brakes and rotors. Noise had come from the brake pads rubbing against the rotors due to the extra play in the bearings on the wheels. This truck has over 350,000 miles so I have had these replaced in the past. The price they charged was comparable to what I have paid in the past. My truck was ready the next afternoon. Ive driven the truck for several days and the noise is gone. Due to the age and miles on this truck I have more issues that need to be addressed and I will be taking it back to AAMCO. Thanks for doing a good job and getting my truck back on the road quickly!

Tyler was very professional with me and my wife.I used AAMCO twice in May of this year THE FIRST TIME to rebuild my transmission in my 2000 F150 Harley, 175,000 miles, Davidson pickup.i purchased this truck new and I am very attached to it. THE SECOND TIME TO R/R MY STARTER.The AAMCO guys took care of my truck in a timely manner and I have not had a problem with the truck .Tyler and crew repaired my baby in a timely manner and sent me home happy that my baby was running again!I had them change the oil as a preventive measure!The price was very reasonable and the work awesome, AAMCO is my truck therapist!OORAH!

I recently had some transmission issues with my vehicle, I took it to Aamco to get diagnosed. They were able to tell me the problem and cost to fix it within a day. It was out of my price range but they referred me to their finance department that was able to help me pay for the work. Needless to say my car runs great. When someone is looking for a shop to fix their car, they are looking for someone who is honest, helpful and in it to help people. If you are looking for that, look no further.I was in a bind and my car dash was telling me that my engine was overheating and I was driving from Minnesota to South Texas. This place was just a block or two away, so I called them at 5:10pm on a Friday. They told me that they close at 6, but they said to stop by and they can take a look, which was a lifesaver. They scanned my car and took a look and my car was not overheating and the sensor had an issue. While, obviously they were not going to fix it right then and there, they let me know that my car will not overheat and I can continue my journey.I offered to give them a tip, but they did not take it.Polite, honest and willing to help. This place has all three of these things.I do not remember the names of the two gentlemen, but THANK YOU!

I am so GRATEFUL for this mechanic shop! My car keys kept getting stuck when it was time to pull them out. I took them to this shop and a few hours later they called me and said that their was a recall for this issue with Hyundai. When I went to pick up my car they themselves fixed the issue and did not Charge me for the problem. Therefore, I did not have to take it to Hyundai. I appreciate their honesty, another mechanic shop would have probably never mentioned the recall and charged me God knows how much money. They care about their customers and they are not there to take a advantage of YOU. I’m so Thankful!

I was extremely nervous that my car needed transmission work and I dont know many people in the area and dont know much about cars. Turned out that it was just a loose panel on the underside of my car making noise at high speeds! This shop took care of it, gave me a ride to work, all free of charge. Everyone was extremely friendly and courteous. Places like this remind me that there are good people in the world that dont try to take advantage of others! I highly recommend them.

We have been going to brake check for a number of repairs and it seemed like everytime we would would pick up our car there would be yet another issue. One of which being a really annoying squeak, and difficulty turning the wheel at times. We tried chalking it up to the fact that we had purchased an older used car (2005 Hyundai Elantra). But after they replaced our entire power steering system, battery, belts, alternator, etc... They gave us back the car, with the same squeak.. Same issues. And told us they had no idea what it was. A few days later while we were all the way across town the car overheats, shuts off, and is completely dead. Wont even attempt to start.After reading some very promising reviews for AAMCO transmission we decided to have it towed there and give them a shot. Well I am so glad we did! The people there were amazing. They spoke to our insurance, confirmed the quality of the parts they provide and what they are able to cover for us. We received phone calls updating us on the status of our car and it was ready to pick up within 2 hours. They told us that the belt to the alternator was put on too tight, causing it to snap (thanks a lot brake check) so they replaced it and just like that it was fixed! And the best part, no more squeak! I will definitely be returning here for any work we need done on our car! I would definitely recommend them for their exceptional knowledge, service, and speed!

Brought my 2006 dodge ram 1500 in to get the transmission checked out due to a check engine light that came on. Everyone at this shop were very friendly and professional. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable there at their shop. They took out the transmission and disassembled it right in front of me and brought me back to even look at every piece that would need to be replaced which I have never had the oppertunity to get from other shops. It was comforting to know and see what is going on with your transmission and they give you that oppertunity. Tony came up with great suggestions on how to better my performance with my truck in doing some of the work that I would be doing with the truck. Rebuilt my transmission and replaced my suspension in all fours in just 2 days!!! Thank you Tony, Charles and the rest of the crew that worked on my truck.

Tyler and his team took my truck in with what i thought may have been a torque convertor issue. After thoroughly diagnosing, they found out it was a misfire. After replacing my spark plugs with OEM, the misfire went away and truck now runs fine. I appreciated their honesty.

I definitely would recommend AAMCO. They did an excellent job on my mini cooper, they were attentive and very detailed. I was able to get on a payment plan which helped me tremendously with SNAP and Easy Pay Finace.

Best service Ive ever received. These guys really went above and beyond for me which they didnt have to do. I came in with issues about my car not starting properly and when it did the car would sputter and driving it was impossible. I thought it was transmission issues but the guys were able to confirm it was electrical. They gave me ease of mind in a stressful situation and helped me get back on the road. Complaint Detail / ProblemComplaint Type: Customer Service IssuesProblem:Brand new (still under warranty for full refund at AutoZone) $175 alternator core stolen for core charge. Tyler called me and let me know that my car needed a new alternator, which I had just replaced in July. He then asked if I wanted them to order the part and do the repairs, to which I agreed, on the condition that I could keep the alternator they removed to return for a full refund. I was told this would not be a problem and that the car should be ready the following Tuesday assuming the part came in. When I called on Tuesday I was told that Tyler was out and being treated for a medical condition which Tyler himself later claimed was an allergic reaction. This delayed my vehicles repair more than 2 weeks. To their credit they did discount the repair by about $55 for the inconvenience at the time of pick up. However, when I inquired about the alternator that I had requested that they hold for me so that I could return Tyler expressed that they had forgotten and turned it in for a core charge of $40 or so, but to call back on Monday to see if they could get it back. When I called back on Monday and spoke with Tyler he said I had told them that it was still fully under warranty but had never asked them to give it back to me and thats not how things work as an excuse to absolve themselves from responsibility. When I asked to speak with his Superior he stated my dad is the owner and hung up on me. Ive already filed a police report for theft since Tyler admitted he kept my property to sell for $40 core refund. I absolutely dislike their customer service, I took my car for transmission problem, they 1 week to get it replaced, very expensive to go back in 2 weeks with same issue, then they took 3 weeks, to check it, finally I took my car for the 3rd time, they took a month!!!! To replace the transmission again, I took back because it was not shifting, and had an oil leak, both Kyle and Alex would tell they call me to let me know or that tomorrow, then tomorrow NEVER CAME, I was the one calling them to get an update on my car!!! super disappointed.

After much research, we took our 2012 F250 to the AAMCO on Rigsby. We were NOT disappointed. From beginning to end Tyler and his crew took very good care of us with updates, options and no surprises at the end. The price quoted was the price charged. Thanks guys. Our truck rides great.

Excellent customer service! Got to work on our car right away. Very transparent with regards to the repairs needed and expected costs. Kept us advised of the status of the repairs throughout the process. Having to get a car repaired is never fun, but they made the whole experience as painless as possible. While on some personal business from Mesa Arizona my transmission went out on me. I went to see Charlie and Tony at AAMCO, they diagnose the problem and helped me out of a very scary situation. By the way all I needed was a gasket changed a filter changed and the fluid flushed. Not a big deal for a professional but a scary moment for an individual who doesn’t know much about leaks from a transmission . I have live on the SE side for well over 25 years and this was the first time I had to come here... and Im sure glad I did. The first thing that Tony did was great us and helped us diagnose the problem on my dads truck right away. (No charge) also gave us a very competitive price. I have swapped transmissions before so I know how expensive it can be just to fix a minor problem. He has gone above and beyond to make sure that my dads truck gets fixed correctly. I will be recommending this place to my friends and family.

Was in San Antonio over the weekend and ran into some u joint trouble and needed to get on the road. Tony got my car in and they had the drive shaft out and headed to a press for new u joints and balancing before my ride even showed up to get me. Very friendly, quick and understanding. One of the best shop experiences Ive ever had. You never want to need a shop but when y9u do these guys treat you the way you want to be treated.

I will admit, I was skeptical at first but my worries were put to rest. The costumer service was great. I purchased used a vehicle and the transmission went out and these guys worked with me. Explaining in detail what was needed also the different options that were available. They dealt with my frustration of having to do this kind of work on a vehicle i just got and eased my mind with their reinsurance and pride in their work. This place was amazing!! Im from out of town and had my GMC truck stop going into park. So to say the least Im upset, called them up and told them my issue, was told to bring it in the next morning and they will take a look. Dropped it off at 830 by 11 it was fixed and back with me. Car transmission was to be replaced and it was but it came with issues. When we picked up the car one of the mechanics told us we would need to have the muffler mid pipe replaced because it’s very rusted and that’s why the exhaust is so loud. Went home to find the pipe was cut off!! It’s not there and you can see where it was cut and removed… The other issue was just as baffling, the reverse light switch was set wrong in the transmission so the car cannot be driven because the reverse lights stay on the entire time. I don’t even know how these issues could happen….

Be carefull with this place if they damage your car from the body they will tell they will fix it and tell you go get an estimate when uyou send the estimate they would tell you no is to expansive take to another one and then you take to another and they will make up excuses and change the story to not fix the damage and it was a small damage cant imagine if is big one so check your vehicle before you leave

Did a great job with my transmission on my F150. Had it done in a good time frame and also worked with my extended warranty that I had on my truck. Everyone there was very polite and hard working and made sure the transmission was done right. Thank you and great job men.....

I take all of my vehicles to Charlies Aamco at Rigsby Ave. They have proven to be honest, fair and dependable for over 25 years for me and my family. I have had transmission service, brake service, engine service, coolant system, electronic and multiple other repairs done. Tony is outstanding and friendly to customers. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Ive had all kinds of problems not related to the transmission they replaced which wasnt the issue in the first place , with my truck since I got it back do not take your car here they dont know what theyre doing. All attempts to fix issues just created more issues.

These guys are the only place I trust with our cars. As a woman, many mechanics will either look down on you or try to sell you extras assuming you dont know what they are talking about. Ive only had good experiences with these guys- They are upfront about what they can do, take a reasonable amount of time, and dont try to upsell you on unnecessary repairs. Their prices seem pretty standard for what is available around town.Our last visit to them, the check engine light was on, so they did a check. They determined that simply a new gas cap might fix the problem, and directed us to a nearby auto parts store to grab a new one, saying to come back if the light came back on, and they would look further into the issue. No charge for the check and advice, and a $10 gas cap later, the light stayed off. Total integrity with these guys, I couldnt recommend them more highly.

I had my 2006 Jeep Commander transmission rebuilt , and my 2010 Lexus axle repaired at the Rigsby location, I received outstanding service both times and constant communication. They provide a lot a different car repair services. Im glad I gave this place a try. I was even surprised they had drop office service which is rare these days.

I had trouble with a rebuilt transmission that was outside the warranty period. Aamco stepped up to the plate and offered to cover the labor for the repair if I would cover the parts. Overall very satisfied with how I was treated and would use their services again.

First time ever at this repair station. I believed I had a whine in my transmission. AAMCO diagnosis revealed just a squeaking pulley. They put a new one on while I waited. They could have said I had a major transmission problem and charged me $2,000. These guys are honest, hard-working and customer oriented. Do yourself a favor and take your business to this shop. You will not be disappointed.

Took my car here for multiple repairs and after not being about to repair it I was told it had no oil, they took my car to the back and the guy walks in and asked how much oil he was supposed to add. A few days later my car began to run hot and I had to get it towed, due to too much oil it had gotten into the coolant reservoir and caused a bigger problem. Stay away from here!!!

I started having problems with my transmission for my 2009 Chevy Impala back in April. Tony took care of it and got my car back and working like new. 3 months later I had another issue with the transmissions. I had a warrenty and Tony once again stood by his word and fixed it. Ive been doing business with AAMCO since I got my very first car at 16 years old. Tony, Charlie and their team have been the only people that I have trusted for going on 20 years. They always provide excellent service while fully explaining what is going on with your vehicle and you do not get your vehicle back until everything is completely above board. I would not recommend going anywhere else.

I had inherited a Ford pickup that seemed to have a transmission problem, it was shuddering bad when shifting. I took it to Aamco and they checked it out, all it needed was a tune up! They did that for me and its been running great ever since. I noticed about a month later that the cruise control stopped working, so I took it by there to get it checked and it was just a fuse. They changed it for me and didnt even charge me! Charles and his crew are honest about what they do, and this can be hard to find in the transmission business.

I just moved to San Antonio, and need a mechanic. I have a disability and I am a woman. They treated me with respect, and while I didnt need repairs, Tyler completed putting my plates, and sticker on my car making me Texas Legal. He is a very polite, respectful young man, and you dont see that from young people these days. I have found a mechanic, and will update review as I complete more business with these gentlemen. Just from what I read online overheating of a vehicle is a long process. It hard to pin point what might be wrong. Took my vehicle in of course because of over heating. Staff seemed very helpful and friendly. Mechanic indicated it might have been the water pump. So I had the water pump and timing belt changed. Well that picked up my vehicle what do you know overheated again. So here we where back at the shop so now the mechanic thinks it may be the radiator. Okay so I say replace the radiator. When I get my vehicle back it over heats again. Take my back. Shop has it about a week calls me up say everything is fine. Here’s where my problem starts. While the shuttle driver was taking me to get my vehicle. The tone of the conversation was they where hoping that I didn’t come back. Had no idea what was really wrong. Needless to say I took vehicle to another mechanic. Head gasket everything is fine now.

I took my 84 corvette because it was leaking transmission fluid, and once they inspected it they told me the transmission needed to be rebuilt. They charged me $3k, and they took a very long time to fix it the first time and they also got a scratch on it, and when I got my car back and drove it back home, days later it was leaking again. I had to go back and forth to this shop 3 times, and to this day its still leaking transmission fluid even after I was charged the $3k

The transmission gave up on my 06 ram 1500. So I called Aamco at 5038 Rigby ave. And Tony had my truck towed to the shop. I got a call the following day given an estimate and truck was fixed within a week. Great service , great work. Truck is driving great! Very pleased . Thank you .

I got my transmission fixed here and i have to say these guys are awesome. Fast service, good service and they make sure its done right. Not to mention the employees are not only very informative buy they are very nice and respectful. They helped me out so much. I would recommend Aamco to anyone if they want someone to fix their car fast and efficiantly. Great place.

They did not assist me with care. I wanted them to diagnose my truck for the 2nd time and both times was a fail. They don’t charge to diagnose but for the 2nd time working with them they still couldn’t find anything wrong with my truck. I took my truck up there on Friday and didn’t get it back till Monday after work. I also had to call them to check up on the status of my truck just for them to tell me that other people had been working on my truck so they don’t know what’s wrong with my truck. I told them for the 2nd time that all I got done to my truck was a simple oil change and tune up by the same person. So I went to go pick up my truck after work and the front desk told me that my key is in the car. I didn’t see my key so I had to go back to the front desk to ask for my key and even the mechanic didn’t know where my key was. Tuesday comes when I’m ready to drive my truck and my car shuts down. I will never go back or recommend this place.

I took my Cadillac Escalade EXT about a month ago for a free diagnostic and a second opinion. So I was told with out taking out the transmission apart on what it was doing X amount of money. When we took out and opened up the transmission the X amount of money went up,but Tony called me over to see for my self what all need to be replaced. Now this is the part were your thinking should I do it or not, I can get it a few hundreds cheaper eles were. Well you get what you pay for Exelent work and the warranty speaks for it self, very very happy with taking my truck to this shop. Had to have towed a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 in March 2016. Initial estimate was reasonable, even after I admitted I tried working on it. An inspection revealed more seriously damaged componets than initially anticipated. A final cost was agreed upon, and repairs were affrected rapidly. After driving I had issues within a day. They immediately took it back in and repaired an unrelated problem for FREE. I felt comfortable with Charlie and Tony fom the beginning. They treated me fairly and did a quality job in an expedited fashion within a budget agreed upon before work started. I will return.. with ANY vehiclular related problems. Great experience!

We were passing through San Antonio on our way to Victoria Texas from Abilene when our alternator gave out. We stopped at all the auto parts places and found an alternator. We called AAMCO Southeast to see if they could put the new one in and the man said that it was almost closing time but if I could get there asap he would see if one of the techs could do the job. This man and his tech were so nice, they waited for us and helped us in a very stressful moment. His wall is littered with customer service awards and I know why! We were in an out in under 45 minutes and they seemed grateful for the business and didnt make us feel like we were bothering them! Did a great job!

I had ordered a TH400 transmission from Autozone for my 1980 chevy c10 truck. AAMCO had convinced me to refund my ordered th400 transmission saying that they are difficult to put in and I should convert my original 350 transmission into a th350.My truck was sitting at AAMCO for 2 whole weeks. Never been touched.Mechanic had said that my 4 barrel carburetor was attached to a 2 barrel carburetor bracket and this was the reason that my transmission is reducing speed. The passing gear is not attached right.A 4 barrel edelbrock carburetor bracket costs $30 to $50 on Amazon and advance auto parts.AAMCO had quoted me $1,800 dollars. I returned a brand new th400 that costs $1,400 .I had ordered a 4 barrel edelbrock carburetor bracket and a carburetor shop on Flores Street will charge me $50 to install it.To rebuild my transmission it will cost between $$500 to 800.Remember, this is a 1980 CHEVY truck. No computer

I had my car (2001Dodge intrepid) towed here yesterday morning because my gear shifter was stuck in drive. And as soon as the found the problem they called me with the total and I had them fix it. today they called and told me it was ready! They did an great job and the price was affordable. My car drives brand new! Thank you guys! I will be going back if I need more work!

The guys at this location have my 2005 Tahoe Z71 purring!!! They are my go to shop for my blinkers to mechanical repairs. They even located a defect on my tire during a routine inspection that couldve resulted in a blowout.... They WILL fix your vehicle for a fair price. Horrible experience. Notice my 2008 Chevy making some strange noises and took my truck to get looked at. Tony the mgr called me advised they would need to do a diagnostic which would cost me $495 that would be applied to any work they have done to the truck. So I agreed. They then call me to tell me that I have multiple parts & peices that need to be replaced. a new convertor and gears and the electronics. He tells me he can quote me two prices $2900 & $2500. I told him I couldnt afford it. I call to see if my warranty was still good with the dealer it had expired. I called back and spoke with Tony again and he asks me well what were you looking to pay? I told him i was hoping to pay a few hundred dollars didnt know i had this amount of damage. the truck seemed to drive fine other than the occasional niose. He then tells me well maybe i can meet you half way like about $1800, we wont cut any corners or anything but maybe there something we can do about the parts I told him i just want my truck back. They call me to tell me to pickup my truck a whole week later and tells me oh and make sure you bring cash i told him no one told me this was cash only, he says well im telling you now so you can have cash when you come, thats what the cost is for diagnostics When i pickup my truck i ask for a printout of the diagnostic so i can know what im paying over $500 for, he then tells me we dont write that stuff down . This point i figured its best to remove myself from the situation before i do something i would regret. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! unless you want to be ripped off!!!

Worst place ever to go to!!! Told tony (manager at aamco) that their was something wrong with the shift solenoid b in my car. He stated that he would have to run a diagnostic to see what the problem was ($210) I agreed . Then a week later I called to see if they had run the diagnostic, he said that they were going to have to charge me $595 for they could further look in the transmission to see what actually what was wrong with it. Shouldn’t the diagnostic for $210 tell you what is wrong with the car?? But since I was a woman he thought he was going to get away with ripping me off. He is so rude and has no customer service skills , what so ever. I have no idea or what fool would let him manage a store.

On an impluse I called Charlie Clay at AAMCO for advice on my F150s overheating engine and to my surprise Charlie said hed help me out. Id had tranny work done by Charlie and his guys but didnt know he was doing full service auto repair. In short, Charlie and his manager Tony located a remanufactured engine and gave me the details so I could purchase the engine over the phone and have it shipped straight to AAMCO. I would never have had the guts to do a deal like that if wasnt for Charlie Clays reputation as a real standup guy. Charlies guys went through the engine to make sure I got what I paid for and installed it in no time. They also replaced any suspect parts in the cooling and ignition systems. The truck runs great and Im no longer leary of driving it anywhere. I couldnt be happier with the way this all worked out. Ill definitely be taking my vehicles back to Charlie Clays AAMCO for all my maintenance/repair needs.

Took my Mercury Mariner to be diagnosed and they did it in 2 hours. later got a quote and they rebuilt transmission. good , friendly service. Recommend for all your transmission services.

At first these guys seemed to be the answer to my tanny problem. so i went in and talked to tony and told me to leave it so they can drop the tranny. before doing so i asked him how much it was gonna cost and he gave me a price range of $1100 - $3400. he also informed me that if i didnt want to fix it with them i would have to pay $595 for the tranny inspection. since my tranny was just slipping i wasnt expecting a quote of $2700 for a new tranny. i decide not to fix it with them and just pay the $595 for my tranny to be put back together and back in my truck. when i go to pick up my truck just about everybolt that holds the transmission at the crossmember were missing. a total of 10 bolts were not put back on, missing two rubber plugs and the metal cap at the bell housing. i had tony take a look and says good thing you caught it before you left, let me talk to my guys. yeah good i thing i did catch it because that would have left me with a broken transmission. they have there ways of getting business. anyways they put all the missing hardware back in and i go for a test drive. right of the bat i was driving with my shifter in neutral according to my dash. but i took the drive and made sure the tranny was working like i brought it in. and it is working the same so atleats thats ok. so when i get back to aamco the mechanic adjusts the shifter at the tranny and fixes the shifter. when i got home i decided to go under my truck and feel for any loose hardware, sure enough 3 oil pan bolts were very loose so i took care of that and the rest of the issues. i had an absolutely horrible experience with these guys at aamco. i encourage you to look under your vehicle and inspect any of the work performed because these guys are out to get you, especially when you dont want them to fix your slipping transmission. tony nice try buddy.

Took car because check engine light and rough jerky feel. They fix my car right up. Only fumble was not letting me know in advance that they dont accept checks. I did not look up payment froms on website either. Fortunuity had plastic on me.

They had my car for three days longer than they originally told me, but I will say that they made up for it with good customer service. They always answered the phone, gave updates, and gave me a discount for the inconvenience.

They charged me four thousand dollars to fix my cars transmission, the car only worked for 6 months and I came back because the transmission was getting hot, I took the car back and they returned it to me after a week and left it worse, the car It turned off and no longer turned on and when it turned on it did not give direct or reverse, the car no longer started and I had to pay a tow truck and take it back to AMMCO and now they have my car and it has been with them for 3 months and they do not give me a solution Im sure they dont even know what the car has, I dont recommend this place at all, they only care about the money, once you pay they are no longer interested in fixing the car, if you have the opportunity to go somewhere else, do it, no waste your time and especially your money at AMMCO

Had another aamco do shotty work on my truck and damaged my starter to the point that it had to be replaced. That shop wouldnt take responsibility so I came here. Tony and Charlie took a look at it with one of their techs and agreed that it needed to be replaced. Charlie wouldnt give me a new starter because the other shop is independent of his but did tell me if I brought him a starter they would install for free. Walked two blocks down the road, got a starter and gave it to them and they installed it immediately. They did this all the while apologising for how the other shop treated me.

Aamco (Rigsby) was such a delight to work with. They were fast, and friendly. Even with my multiple calls asking questions they never got angry they just helped me out. They went above and beyond. I will recommend them everytime.

I took my car to be checked out. They took the whole transmission apart and realized my car was under factory warranty. They put it back together and only charged for the tow. Im sure another company would not have said a thing and let me pay 3 grand

I love this AAMCO they are the only ones that work on our cars and do the best job in town. I Can call up there and they will squeeze you in for emergency. They honor all warranty work and trust me you will love the work they do.

Extremely professional listened to my concerns showed me the torn down transmission and rebuilt it to my specifications and needs. Even changed my oil in a short period of time because I forgot to ask them earlier but they made it work.

Started having transmission problems on a family road trip, once I got to the shop they diagnosed the problem, quoted the repair, and fixed my suburban before closing time! Price was a bit high but the trade off was that my family was back on the road in under 4 hours!

Took my car in here for a over heating problem. They found that my radiator fan also a hole in one of the hoses was the issue. They took care of it right away! Would highly recommend this place!!
