They got started right away, worked continuously through to completion, and did everything and more than promised.I found Desmond Dixon to be personable, interested in my project, and intent on completing a satisfying professional job. He did that and more. Dixon Handyman is dependable, honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and hardworking. They were also careful, neat, and clean. Desmond worked on my house as if it was his own!

We were in need of a chimney sweep and live 70 miles from a large town. A friend referred us to Dixon Chimney Sweep and Handyman. We called and they said they could come out that week. They were here the next day. Within an hour they had finished their job. They are extremely friendly, nice, hard working guys and their prices are reasonable. We highly recommend them.

He left everything cleaner than he found it.I had been wondering why my stove was not heating as well and did not have any blue flames. Problem solved. I will be doing this again on a regular basis. I have called twice in the past two months to inquire about getting some work done and both times have been told not interested and hung up on before I can even go into detail about what I am looking for. Maybe they are too busy to accept new work, which is fine, but I think there could be better communication about thatEdit 12/12/23: I saw the owners response to this comment, just for additional context I am not with a third party maintenance company. Called to get our chimney cleaned & Mr. Dixon came out the same day. He was personable & knowledgeable of all our questions. Also, he is well connected in the area since we needed another home repair & he was able to get someone over to get it done that day. Highly recommended.

I recently had work completed by Mr. Dixon. My wife and I had purchased a home in town and it needed some work. We chose this service because of the reviews and oddly enough he had done some interior work with the previous owner. He was upfront and very honest on the pricing. I had reached out to 3 others and 2 were no shows and the other bid came in similar but was going to take a lot longer.Mr. Dixon and his crew are amiable and took time to answer questions and discuss the work they were focused on. We have gotten nothing but compliments from our friends and family with the soffits replaced almond with trim and the home painted.Mr. Dixon was kind to entertain some of my ideas and offer his recommendations to some repairs I was capable of doing and you just don’t get that much these days. He was even nice enough to give a bit of paint for an interior door I was replacing and left a brush.I have future projects for the home I would like use him and his crew for and will reach out soon.

They are the best! If its a shelf to be built, or a garage door to be repaired. They can do any type of remodeling from floor up. Dixon handyman is the ones to call. If it needs fixing, just call a Dixon.

Mr. Dixon came over to my elderly parents house to give them a bid on a major home repair that they needed performed urgently (one that homeowners insurance wouldnt cover). Their plan was to get the bid and start saving (they were both on fixed incomes) to have the repair done as soon as possible. Mr. Dixon ended up working with them and helped them immensely during a period of their greatest financial hardship. It was an extreme blessing and my parents (and myself) were so incredibly grateful. Mr. Dixon went above and beyond the call of duty and Id happily recommend his services to anyone.

Very professional and very honest person. He is the only person i will call for house repairs. I called other handymen first and they gave me outrageous numbers. When i called Dixon he was straight forward with reasonable prices. When he was done with my drywall. It looked professionally done. I could not tell their were holes at one time. I strongly and highly recommend him!

The entire crew did great for us! What started as a doggie door installation, continued into multi-room painting, and then ended with a ceiling fan install...all because we were impressed in the beginning. Fantastic job and fair prices. We would definitely recommend to others if they always give the same great service!

I was very pleased to be able to schedule an appointment at a convenient time within a few days from my initial contact. Mr. Dixon arrived exactly on time, thoroughly cleaned the chimney, inspected the panels for possible damage, and cleaned up stray residue on the hearth. He and his assistant were both professional and courteous. Ill be using Mr. Dixon next year for my chimneys annual cleaning!

Had a drywall job that absolutely had to be done ASAP. Mr. Dixon and his minion were very professional, worked well together, did a really GREAT job for us at a reasonable cost. Id hire him again in a minute. Excellent, honest, great work ethic.

The coolest guy ever! He was so fun to work with. Super easy going, dependable and does awesome work. I felt like it was an old friend working on the chimney and installing our new door. My dog liked him and she hates every man to ever step foot in our house so that to me said a lot haha He is someone I highly recommend!

Apparently I am the only one that has had a bad experience with this company and honestly, wish that made me feel better but it actually makes me more upset. This review took a lot of debating (5 months to be exact) but after being reminded again of the quality of work I received, I decided that I would share my experience in hopes to prevent someone else from going through what we did.I will start off by saying that I was extremely hopeful and excited to use this company and work with Desmond. I had received several other quotes and he was the most reasonable and most thorough. . So what could go wrong? Basically all of it. What was quoted was to repair/replace outside door frames, paint all of the soffit on the back side of our house, repair some water damage underneath our porch and repair some water damage on the corner of our porch roof line. After two days of work, they claimed they were done. All in all, they had to come back out three different times to finish and redo areas. With some areas, they didn’t even touch and with other areas they did very poor quality. Out of everything they were suppose to do, only three small sections were completed correctly the first time. We were charged $1,400 (we supplied all the paint) which was 95% labor and 5% parts; and to this day, I will still need to have someone come out and fix what they did. I wish it allowed me to post photos because, the worst of it, one of the doors we are going to have to have completely replaced and the door frame completely redone because they have screwed it up so bad that it is terrible to open and hard to close & lock. The only thing I can say and that each time I contacted them, they did come back out, no questions asked. But the fact that we were charged $1,400 for work that was not completed as we had agreed upon, is unacceptable. The last that I will say is this: we have soffit that still looks the exact same before they came, all the trim they did has clear nail marks and filler and wasn’t painted; there are big gaps where they replaced trim and overfill of clear sealant that is going to have to stripped, fixed & completely redone; one of our doors and frame has to be completely redone; lastly, they replaced a floorboard and didn’t even make it flush to the wall (so obvious gap between the floorboard and the wall). Obviously, from other reviews, people are very pleased with their work, which is good for them. But from our experience and poor quality of work that we were left with (and have to pay to have someone else redo), I will never recommend this company to anyone and will strongly advise caution to anyone considering to do so.

Did not keep appt nor bother to text or call to inform. When appt was made several days before and ended on the note of if anything comes up prior to appt. Ill let you know and you do likewise and he agreed. At the appt time, he didnt show up and when I called, he said he was taking the day off and working too hard and how hard it is running a business. I reminded him that he said he would call or text if he couldnt make it. He apologized but nevertheless, said he would not be coming. Although he advertises working 7 days a week and long hours each day, he may not If he had at least kept his word and called and texted me, Id been OK but gave no effort to inform me and wasted time I could have used to find another handyman that WOULD keep their word and appt. Would not recommend.

I sure needed to get warm this evening. Thanks Desmond and Josh for coming out so quickly on short notice. Such pleasant people A1++++++++++++
