Longhorn Heating & AC installed 2 new HVAC systems in my house (Air con + gas furnance) in early April 2024. They were professional, kept the house clean, and protected the floors. The installation itself was done very well, both inside and out, and they hung the blower units with appropriate support. I would recommend them without hesitation!
I have had great experiences with Longhorn over the last two years. Last year, they were the only one of four HVAC companies that was able to diagnose and fix our home unit without simply recommending a total replacement, worked good as new.This year, we had a surprise outage due to a separate issue and called them back out. They came out twice and were able to find a specific issue with the compressor that was fixed within a day, all for the cost of a service call.Shoutout to our tech Manny who was patient, friendly, and knowledgable while he was here this week.
First of all, the office manager, Tess, has been rude for the past 1 year multiple times. Whenever I tried to schedule for maintenance and to pay with her on the phone, but she always gave me an attitude with a tone. Maybe she is not very happy with her job? I was trying to hire your company for service and wanted to pay. She sounds so tired and were not friendly.She may need to take service training courses for better customer service.For technicians, my tenants were not happy with them either. They were rude and not respectful to my tenants.My builder used this company, so I wanted to keep hiring this company for seamless maintenance. But after continuous dissatisfaction with Longhorn, I decided to go with another HVAC firm from now on. I would not recommend this firm at all after consistently disappointing experiences.Updated comment: as many previous reviews on yelp and google, she does not know she has a problem. She replied to customers complaints with arguments. Sigh- Please read and reflect for the company.

Longhorn Installed a new outside ac unit compressor and new coil in the attic June 2020. We have been combating an AC water leak for years and have finally after an independent inspection found the problem caused the leak is resulting to a bad install. Longhorn did not install a splash guard from the coil to connecting duct work causing water to make it into the plenums. We have over $1k plus of ceiling damages. We asked Longhorn to look into this on 7/7/22 and was told that a drain was clogged however the secondary drain was dry. No drains are clogged and we still have water leaking unit in attic. I do not trust this business to set foot in my house going forward.

I first want to start with the only reason I am giving this company 5 stars is because our technician (HUNTER) was the BEST! His customer service was top notch and he was able to fix the problem!We live in a Megatel new build, and we are still under warranty... I called the office SEVERAL times to explain to them that our house was unable to get to the temperature the thermostat was set at for several hours even into the late hours like midnight WHEN ITS DARK OUTSIDE. We kept getting brushed under the rug and told that 76 in our brand new house was normal even if set at 70.... THE OFFICE STAFF WAS SO HORRIBLE AND RUDE EVERY SINGLE TIME... FINALLY a technician was sent out and we were threatened that nothing was wrong we would be charged.. well turns out we were right and something was wrong because ever since Hunter was here and fixed it, we have stayed at 70 even with hot temperatures outside and our blinds open..Hunter is the best! Couldnt recommend him enough!The office staff is horrible, and they talked bad about our builder. Super unprofessional.
I had to put in a warranty call for our HVAC system and Hunter came out to work on it. He was awesome and so nice. He went out of his way and gave such good customer service.
The team at Longhorn is so helpful and responsive! The service technicians know what they are doing and provide incredible assistance. A huge shout out to Hunter who went above and beyond assisting us with a plumbing line that wasnt properly vented. We appreciate this team so much, they do outstanding work! If you need any work done, I would call Longhorn!
Very bad customer service by (MONICA) I made an appointment with this company back in June of 2023 and no one showed up called to see whats the problem Monica starts giving me lies over lies..so unprofessional women most likely she belongs to the owner my next appointment will be October 26 I will keep you posted she pushed my appointment that far beacuseits 100 degrees out there shes worry about her employees..lol shes not for sure the thing is my house still under warranty thats way she doesnt wanna rush it.Very bad company very bad people to deal with .
Called Longhorn for an AC issue on a Sunday, Hunter came to the house and diagnosed the issue within couple of hours. He’s extremely professional and knowledgeable. He was able to fix the issue and restore the air conditioning. Will definitely recommend Longhorn to everyone for all their HVAC needs.
Hunter, my technician, was exceptional. He quickly identified and fixed my issues without any cost to me due to my warranty. The problem was the builders shoddy work. Also, he went above and beyond expectations. He showed me other problems in the attic that the builders had caused and recommended I contact them to fix it. He nailed back a board that the builder didnt do. He insulated a pipe that that the builder failed to insulate at all. He showed me a place to get cheaper air filters online. He was also very warm and friendly.Id give 6 stars if it was possible, and if I ever have to call them again, Im asking for Hunter! Its clear he takes pride in his work as well as his service!
My AC broke down last week & it was horrible, especially since its been 100 degrees outside pretty much every day. We had someone come to see what the issue was, managed to get the part they needed, and came back to fix it the very same day! He also showed me where to change my AC filter, which was very helpful because it was hidden very well. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience with Longhorn Heating And Air!
$860 to replace a valve stem. Longhorn installed my system initially on a brand new home. Within a month the primary drain was clogged with debris. Less than 3 years old, one system lost pressure. Unable to find a leak, I was charged $325 for a nitrogen test. Turns out the leak was in a $15 valve stem that should have been found on the initial diagnostic. Now the system is working and the primary drain is clogged again. They want to charge me for coming back out. $860 for a valve stem. Poor workmanship and poor customer service. Thats been my experience.
Weve been using Longhorn for over 30 years to help us with our HVAC needs both personally and commercially. Always professional and get the job done quickly without issues.
If I could have given a half of a star or no star at all I would have been more than happy to do so. Everyone needs to BE AWARE..... this company is a rip off and does not care about it customers. My wife and I have dealt with this company for the last time. We have had nothing but constant issue due to our HVAC unit not installed correctly from Longhorn Heating and Air on a new construction build from Megatel Homes. I have had to replace numerous parts after parts and after parts... All I hear is its normal wear and tear... normal wear and tears is extreme usage over a long period of time and not 14 months later. Yes air filters are always changed on time (quarterly). Due to Longhorn H&A not doing there job or communicating with the customer I only received a 5 year parts warranty vs the 10 years parts warranty I received. If...……….the installer would have registered my HVAC unit or giving me the paper work to fill out and send I would have been more than happy to submit the paper work to the manufacture however this company failed to do so nor did they even care after I brought this their attention. All I have heard is excuses after excuses...…. and the owner Thomas (Tom) does NOT care about his customers either. All he can think to tell his customer is that his hands are tied. The receptionist Christina has no follow through what so ever...……………...she does not do what she says she is going to do. There will be an additional post with more detail of the experience(s) I have received from Longhorn over the past years. Poor poor service.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have used Longhorn twice and they are awesome from the office personnel to the technicians. I first used Longhorn for a second opinion. Another company had diagnosed me needing a new compressor. Longhorn diagnosed the unit was missing a piston. Unit has been cooling ever since the piston was installed. Second time I used Longjorn was for a winter tune-up. Technician was very thorough and knowledgeable. Longhorn was referred to me. I must admit after first seeing their star rating I was reluctant to call. I am so glad I did!I typically dont write reviews however Im writing this review to help their rating because they truly are a 5 star company.
Provided me information about heat pumps and solved hvac issue. It took several times to solve it due to the weather and how heat pumps work and also different zones in home having several heating and cooling issues at the same time. For new home owners under warranty, its best to go through the home builder/project manager for big issues going on with the hvac especially with different zones.
My wife and I want to thank Longhorn Heating and Air for their excellent service. We were having problems with some of our rooms being too hot or too cold. Johnnie and Hunter arrived promptly, diagnosed the problem and explained it to us in a way that we are able to understand it. Then they balanced the air in our home and now it feels wonderful in every room. Longhorn Heating and Air has earned our highest recommendation.
Longhorn installed our A/C systems when we built our home, and weve also used them for follow-up repairs over the years. Yes, we have had problems due to the known nationwide Goodman industries evaporator coil quality issues (units built around 2009-2011) over the past couple of years (the coils solder joints fail and leak out Freon, but this was not Longhorns fault), but in both cases the parts were covered under warranty and the repairs were done first class, with quality and conscientious work. They will go above and beyond for your repair. The cost of every repair has been very competitive and lower than other quotes I obtained (just to baseline). You cant go wrong with Longhorn for a new installation or a suddenly needed repair. Highly recommended.
Longhorn installed the HVAC in our newly built home. They did a great job balancing the airflow to all the rooms. Their service managers and technicians are polite and well mannered. I would definitely recommend them.
Thank you George for resolving the issues we were having with our 2 furnaces that were repeatedly burning out due to faulty electrical wiring that Longhorn wasnt even responsible for. My family appreciates everything you did for us when outside temperatures were reaching triple digits; locating parts that werent readily available, going out of your way multiple times to make unscheduled repairs due to my children suffer from asthma. Two thumbs up for Longhorns entire Staff and Management.
Over the summer, we had an issue with our A/c, all of a sudden it started draining water thru the ceiling instead of where it was supposed to drain. We called Longhorn Heating and Air. They were out the SAME DAY we called and fixed the problem. The Technician could have told us a sad story of what all was wrong; instead, he was honest and told us our drain had come unglued. The Technician fixed it in less than 10 minutes and was gone! Wow! Amazing! Thank you Longhorn Heating and Air! We will always use them for our heating and air conditioning needs.
Not a service review but I saw a worker with Longhorn Mechanical on his truck stop and hand sandwiches to a homeless man. Its very nice to see people helping people!
We recently purchased a new home from Megatel (Feb 18). The fan motor was bad in the Trane system installed by Longhorn. Megatel refered us to Longhorn to have the fan motor replaced. Longhorn was on time and very nice! They explained they didn’t have the part needed and it would be a few days before they could fix the unit. When I explained that I am pregnant and very uncomfortable they went above and beyond to make the repair the same day. Thank you so much for taking great care of us!
Worst customer service. Technician are good and honest but the account team are ridiculous. They charged $175 for replacing blown 3 amp fuse even though unit with parts and labor are still under warranty. Threaten to void warranty if service charge is not paid. Stay away from arrogant staff who threat their customers
Longhorn Heat & Air is a life saver. With temps at or over 100 degrees this past week my AC decided to quit. One call and everythi g was promptly taken care of and at a reasonable price. Tess the office manager is the best. Thank you Longhorn for being prompt and profesional.
Shocking customer service. Do not call them - Terrible!.I purchased 3 complete heating and air units from this company almost 4 years ago for almost $20.000. They had to come over and over again to fix the heating distribution that they designed. One room was like an oven, second room did not have enough air and they had to relocate one keypad sensor to another room, cap to the vent on the roof was a wrong kind and it caused a leak to the rooms underneath on one of those units. ..and on and on..finally I had it ok.. Beside they scheduled to come several times and either late or the tech did not know the issue. I have never call them since. Recently I had a freon leak on one of the units, I called my current person and he added the freon for me. But I thought I call them better because they are the one installed the units. They gave me an appointment 2 weeks ago and I decided to wait for them. I was home waiting for them and after the time window passed I called them, they said they will call me 30 mins before they come because they are just busy and I was Ok with it. Finally, I got a call from the manager lady..and said. “we don’t want to serve you find someone else, have a nice day” and hanged up. She didn’t even give me a chance to ask why or say anything. My jaw dropped and could not believe what just had happened. I called her back and said after 2 weeks of waiting and wasting my whole day waiting for you..without any regards of my time just shove me off your schedule. I asked her what did I do?...haven’t spoken to you for almost 4 years. She shouted at me and said because of that your are difficult. Because I called her back asking why did she took me off her schedule and sound frustrated. She just said go somewhere else with the most RUDE WAY POSSIBLE and hanged up. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!So please save yourself a hassle with this company just go somewhere else. NOT WORTH IT!
Sir warranty calls are 8-5 Monday thru Friday. You signed a contract with Megatel the builder of your home that you agreed to this. Also when you purchase a new home, even if it was just built, CHANGE THE FILTER. Most of the problems are due to the builders and homeowners not changing filters, or pouring bleach down the primary drain to make sure it does not clog. These are things that the homeowner is responsible for. All filters should be changed every 3 months. There is no filter that last a year.
The worst service I ever have. The office people are very rude and unprofessional. They collect payment by yelling at you via phone call, with no invoice sent to you, and threat you that the warranty will expire if you not pay via the phone.

Power outage fried our thermostat. Had to call after hours (around 10pm) and Hunter showed up within 30 min to fix our problem. He was fast, efficient and extremely polite.
I have used this company for almost 30 years. They have installed entire AC systems in an older home and sold us new outside units at the current house. They have always been clear about the pros and cons of each choice, did not try to sell the most expensive unit if it was not necessary to us. They respond quickly, effeciently and courteously. I wouldnt use any other ocmpany.
We really appreciated Hunter’s speedy attention to our Air Conditioning issues. Not only did he come out after hours, but he was at our home when he said he would be and less than a half hour to fix the problem.
BRAND NEW HOME Longhorn Heating & Air will not either come out on a Friday afternoon or the weekend (SO WE DONT HAVE TO MISS WORK ON SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE WORKING NEED TO PAY FOR THE HOUSE STILL AND ALSO ALL THE HAIL DAMAGE ITEMS) well they would come out on the weekend but said they would charge over $100 an hour to work on the unit or some sort of charge. So now I am going to contact my builder to get another AC company to come out on our time so we dont miss work to pay for the unit that should already be working if you bought a new car and paid even $20K for the car had a warranty issue and the dealership said we dont work the weekends or well we can but need to charge you a $100 fee to work on the weekend would you be happy or okay with that?
This company NEVER fails me. I had another situation that required instant attention. Longhorn got right on it. I thought I would have to wait days to get servive but they took care of me immediately. Thanks again, I appreciate the whole staff in making my life comfortable again.
Wont be using them again. My AC went out and they wouldnt come to my house over the weekend. Had a scheduled appointment for a Monday and then I called to confirm it then they tell that they cant see me until one week later. Thats is not professional! If you had me on the books then stick to your word.
Do NOT call this company for anything. The supervisor cannot get her employees and technican on the same page. Technican came out and said he shouldnt have to charge us for something SUPER minor... calls her and of course has to charge us! Technican also says next time to call and they can walk us through our problems, but the supervisor says its not their job to do that! AWFUL SERVICE!
The 2 ladies at the front desk Christina and Monica were very unprofessional I waited 4 days before they can even come out and when they get here they guy says someone will call me to install a brand new H vac Waited 3 hours no one never called so I call back Christina told me that She needed me to go online to fill out paperwork for financing I told her I dont need finance I will pay for it Then She says she dont know when someone can come out or even when they would order it so I say as soon as possible I would like to have it she said Is someone will call me when theyre ready To put in my system I dont even know how long it will be or when So I asked to speak to the manager 4 times she said she was the manager so I said I guess I have to come up there to speak to the manager she told someone in the background that I was threatening her I advise no one to go to them seems like all they want is money they charge you a 100 bucks to even come out to do nothing Look around and sound professional
Very poor customer service , the GM was very rude and talked about no loyalty. Very unprofessional. Do NOT call this company for ANY service! Weve only had our home less than 2 years and weve had nothing but problems with the system they installed.

Had 2 units (upstairs/downstairs) installed on new construction home 6 years ago. Ive had to have both repaired for coolant leaks. unacceptable.
