Great Service and advise! Chris, the technician was throughly competent and very polite. I also spoke with Mark in sales. He was also polite and very competent! I will use SOS in the future and also recommend them without hesitation!

I ordered the mini-split package for my garage, so I could workout due to gyms being closed during COVID-19. Allison, GM was very informative throughout the process...This family business really takes care of their customers and makes you feel like family. I am literally shocked at how good this setup is working. Even without putting insulation in the walls and ceiling, I’m still able to get down to 78 degrees during the hottest parts of the day (95+ degrees outside temp.). My neighbor even stopped by to check out the setup, since he is always working in his garage shop.

I highly recommend SOS Mechanical to anyone needing HVAC service. I found them to be completely honest. SOS Mechanical was very responsive to my phone messages and phone calls. They were very good about keeping me posted on when they should be on their way and let me know right before they arrived.SOS Mechanical did their best to give me the facts about my existing equipment. They took the time to talk to me about the technical aspects of my existing equipment and operation and the warranty they offered, helped me to make an informed decision.I am very picky about the work that anyone does for me! After replacing my entire HVAC unit, the installation was spotless and they took the time to check everything out VERY carefully before they left our house.Their work makes me proud to show others. Purchased a heating and A/C system from SOS Mechanical about 10 years ago. It was not the cheapest, but they fixed all the duct work that the builder did and the new systems have not needed any repairs until this year. And the repair was very minor. The system works so much more efficiently than the builder installed system and the house heats and cools so much better. We have been very pleased with the systems and the service we receive from SOS Mechanical. They help me remember to schedule spring and fall checkups for the systems, they are always prompt and professional and they always call or text when they are on the way. They are knowledgeable and take pride in their business. (Chris is the best. He knows these systems inside and out. He helped fix some duct work issues, set up and helped us with issues early on with the digital thermometers and found a leaking capacitor during our last checkup. I trust him to make sure our heating and A/C are running well and will continue to run well.)

I have been working with this company for a while, and unfortunately, after trying other companies last week, I realized how much they were overcharging me for all past services. I have a company with many stores in Austin. I was rarely in the store when they fixed our units. For the last service, I was there and was shocked by how they didnt care or answer your questions. After the technician was done working on the unit, he just said (it SHOULD be okay for now). After he left, it was a big mess. Both units stopped working, and I had to deal with a leak. They came back after 2-3 days, and after five days, they said you needed an entirely new unit for 33k. When I explained to the lady on the phone that it was expensive to make this investment now, she said, Well, good luck. I asked to speak to her manager but am still waiting for a callback. The almost $400 I paid them for fixing nothing was not refundable.I called another company they charged me $250. It has been a week, and my unit works wonderfully. They even fixed the leak and told me it was an easy fix.From my experience of running many stores and businesses, I can tell you that they are just looking for quick money. Because of them, I had to shut down my store for several days. Please beware. They will not care about what your problem is they will just offer you the most expensive solution.

A Mitsubishi mini-split installed by another company in an upstairs room would not hold the selected temperature. It had been looked at previously twice but no one could find the problem. The SOS technician determined that the unit was working perfectly but was located too near an upright freezer whose warm air discharge was close to the A/Cs temperature sensor. Took him less than half an hour; personable, well-spoken fellow who knew to look outside the box, in this case for another box! Good show.

SOS responded quickly to our service calls prior to us deciding to replace our 15+ yr old AC. We got quotes from 2 other companies and decided to go with their mid-range Trane. The others were a little less expensive but their warranties did not cover labor or refrigerant (not to mention SOS credited some of our repair costs towards the replacement unit). SOS arrived on time and removed and replaced our unit well within the time frame they gave us. Our comfort consultant, Thomas, was very kind, informative and did not use any high pressure sales tactics. Our install crew was courteous, professional and efficient. Our house cooled off very quickly and quietly - we are very pleased. I would highly recommend them.

Ive been using SOS Mechanical for the last few years to maintain my AC. They are always prompt, professional, and friendly. Chris is super knowledgeable and honest. Recently, my AC died and I needed a new unit installed. They were able to keep my home at a comfortable temperature while we waited for the new AC to be installed. The new unit is very high quality and they also cleaned up a lot of duct work, making my system more efficient.

SOS was great! Very timely and made the process easy as our A/C blew. Need to get a new system and walked us through all options. Kept the area clean and worked quickly while doing all the work. Would highly recommend them for any work.

I purchased a new Trane AC system 10 years ago with them. Installation to after service warranty service was professional and timely with this service oriented company. Thank you Steve , Chris and Allison.At year nine my evap coil developed a leak. They put in refrigerant to keep me cool and they ordered the new part and I got it installed within 5 days without any hassle.A lot of time with warranties you get the run around, but not with this company. Also had a switch to my furnace replaced under warranty and had them replace some duct work a raccoon got into. I just referred them to my neighbor without hesitation.

I had AC emergency this weekend Bo R. With SOS came to my rescue. I was lucky it was only a compastitor and was an easy fix. He didnt try and sell me a new unit but he did tell me to start thinking about it. He understood that things are tight for everyone and that making a person buy an expensive unit was financially impossible. Thanks for taking good care of me in a difficult time.

Excellent service! Allison at the SOS office was very pleasant attending my request for service and Chris, the technician sent to my home arrived promptly and addressed the maintenance of my unit efficiently. There was no pressure or hard selling of unnecessary services, just a polite reminder of what I need to do to keep my A/C unit working fine for a longer time.

Our ac unit was pumping out hot air! Total panic as its already in the 90s. Chris came out TWO DAYS earlier than expected - on the very day they were called, when he had an unexpected chance to come. He saw immediately that it was putting out hot air and made the diagnosis from the compressor, the internal unit and the thermostat to be certain. Crossed wires were the culprit (at least of this problem) and he knew it almost immediately and fixed it in a jiffy and voila its blowing cold! So grateful for Chris, who was sweet, quick, non-judgmental as I live in a messy house, and smart as a whip!Just want to add something to my review. Chris worked on my downstairs unit. Last night something weird thing happened to my upstairs unit. I had what I thought was Chris card so called the cell because it was after hours. His manager, Allison answered. She listened though it was after hours, and then asked if I could wait until first thing in the morning or if Id prefer her to send someone right then last night! I was shocked! The last company I dealt with (the ones who totally messed up the installation on the downstairs unit) wouldnt come out until they had an appointment no matter how many days they made me without heat (in the winter). SOS was ready to send someone that instant! I just recommended SOS to a friend and decided to come back and add to my review. I am so impressed at how good they and how much they care!

I had to find a new AC company because mine decided to cancel its maintenance service for the year. I called and emailed several but received few responses. SOS not only had a live person answer the phone, she took the time explain their program to me and the pricing structure. I decided to give them a try and they were able to schedule me THE NEXT DAY! Bi got a text saying the tech was on the way and he showed up exactly at the time promised. He spent almost an hour checking the system and found a bad capacitor. He let me know and he actually had the part on the truck! Very courteous, friendly guy who was no nonsense and focused. He fixed the problem, cleaned everything up and let me know how I would be billed. Fantastic experience and highly recommend

My ac stopped blowing cold. I called SOS because they came highly recommended. They lived up the the recommendation. The tech was here right on time. It took him about 10 minutes to diagnose the issue. It was covered under warranty so i only had to pay labor which was less than I expected it to be. I will be using them for all our HVAC needs moving forward.

We bought a new AC a little over a year ago. SOS came out a year later to trouble shoot a faulty thermostat (not their doing), and the service then and now is excellent. Update from 7/22- AC not connecting (of course in the evening after business hours), repair technician was done by 10 am the next day! It’s calling for 107 today. Such a relief. Fantastic service!

SOS is really there for their customers. Any time we have a question or concern, all we need to do is contact Alison and she is on it! Chris came out in January to do some routine maintenance and did a great job! He was there on time and finished quickly. We are very pleased with our new AC/furnace and with SOS.

Wow! Great service and customer experience. SOS installed a new furnace & a/c unit for our upstairs. The older downstairs a/c was not working so we gave them a call for repair. Fast response and quick repair. Chris the technician quickly diagnosed the problem (capacitor failure) & had it working in less than 30 minutes.Highly recommend giving SOS Mechanical a call for new (Trane) or repairs (any makes).

Second time using them. AC broke down @4:00 pm, called them and tech showed up in 15 minutes. He was done in 20 minutes. He replaced the motor, which was replaced by them last August. He said it would be under warranty, so I did not need to pay for the parts. I am so impressed with their prompt and professional service. Everything is online, last years bill, service records, etc. Very convenient. I saved their number in my phone and keeping their business card in a safe place. Excellent service, very satisfied!

SOS did a very good job of adding a Trane XV system to our house. Competitive pricing and most importantly, they are willing to work with you to understand what you want to accomplish and then propose a system to meet those goals. Steve, the owner, does a site review to make sure everyone understands the installation. The installation crew protects the floors, does neat and tidy work and they cleanup after they finish. Steve and Thomas, our sales rep, do a final site review to make sure everything is done properly and we sign off on the installation. It was a very satisfying experience. Their Technician Chris came out and showed up in the agreed time, diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it even faster.He also serviced the main drain from the A/C as it was clogging and was done with everything in under about 30 minutes.There no brow beating or trying to upsell me on something that did not need to be replaced or fixed and just good high quality and fast efficient service.He also showed with a mask and could have not been more friendly!I recommend SOS Mechanically highly for your A/C and Heating needs!

I was very pleased with the entire experience replacing our HVAC system. My sales rep Mark conducted a thorough inspection of my issues and provided a detailed estimate. He answered all of my questions and did not rush or pressure me. I had bids from 2 other companies and not only was SOS the lowest cost they also addressed a room that never properly cooled by putting in a return vent into that room. I got a quality Trane system and the best warranty as well. I would 100% recommend Mark and SOS Mechanical for HVAC replacement.

I received quotes for a number of hvac companies. half gave the brand of the machine, but not details so I could not check reviews. The owner came out and explained what I was getting, cost, and addressed my concerns over warranty. Very responsive. The crew showed up exactly on time, installed the hvac system and made sure it worked. The owner came by and checked the work. Helped me program that computerized thermostat. Really really great service. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. So far with this 100+ temps, the AC is working like a champ.

SOS Mechanical employees Tom, Chris, Hector and Manuel are very professional, prompt and courteous. We had our HVAC system replaced, all the employees made it a stress free situation, they arrived on time and job was completed in 4 hours. Also no surprise charges were added. Tom is a no pressure salesman, very kind only makes suggestions of what system would work the best for your home, he also came to our home at 630 pm because my husband could not get off of work. Just an outstanding group of people.

Couldnt have been happier with the service. My wife spoke on the phone with Allison, who was super nice and very responsive. They gave us the emergency contact number, which was answered immediately. Even though the A/C decided to stop working Friday evening of the Memorial Day Holiday, the technician (and owner) was at our home within the hour. Start-to-finish, we were cooling our home again in two hours...amazing! I cant recommend this company and their service highly enough.

SOS just installed a Mitsubishi mini-split in a workspace we created in our garage. SOS was the third quote I received and they gave me the best and in my opinion most honest deal. They were on time, effeceint, and neat. The work was well done and they cleaned up after themselves and walked us through the settings on the unit and ensured we were left with no questions. Organized and professional. SOS Mechanical has been servicing our existing HVAC units for one year. The service technician, Chris, helped us get through our first summer. He was so personable and professional, that when we decided to install a new HVAC system upstairs, we chose SOS Mechanical. We were not disappointed. Allison was great guiding us through the process and gave thermostat operation tutoring upon completion. The installation process was clean, fast and efficient. The team of brothers even removed leaves from the walkway to avoid tracking debris into the house. A great team effort at all levels.

I cannot say enough good things about this company. When my AC went out on Saturday night and I was due to close on the sale of the same home on Monday and hand over the keys to the new owner, SOS came to my rescue! They were at my house by 10am Sunday and had everything repaired by 10:30. What a great group of people, from. Phone was answered. I asked the neighborhood Facebook page for recommendations and they came recommended there. Appointment was available within a few days. The young man who came was polite, showed me my filter was in backward! He said I was low on coolant. I was surprised by how much coolant prices have increased, but what hasnt?Overall positive experience.

I contacted SOS Mechanical with the contact form on their site requesting a service call for my air conditioner. I got a response at 8:00 pm (within an hour of my request) and proceeded to set up a service call for the next morning. This was not an emergency but they certainly made it a priority. The technician showed up on time and instantly diagnosed and fixed the problem. We purchased our system from them several years ago and have nothing but positive things to say about this company. I highly recommend calling them for your heating and cooling needs. I’m so happy to support a local, family-owned business!

On todays emergency (when it is a 100+ degrees outside it is an emergency in my book) the technician showed up shortly after the call ahead and was very courteous throughout his visit. My AC recently stopped working and I panicked a little. I called SOS and they sent someone the next day. Chris was wonderful and quickly diagnosed the problem. Thankfully I only needed a new capacitor and not an entirely new system. He replaced the busted capacitor with one that has a 5 year warranty. The whole process took just over a half hour and we were back up and running again. I also joined the comfort club so my new filters will come to the house when I need them instead of going years before I remember that filters are even a thing that need changing.

The sales, install, post-install followup, and support interactions I had with Alison while replacing our AC 2 years ago remains THE most quality interaction I have had around house updates/repairs in my 15 years as a homeowner.Alison is everything the home owner needs. Extremely knowledgeable about her product & work, detailed oriented, and delivered straightforward & respectful communication.As I come off a pandemic filled with home updates I have been continuously frustrated by the passive aggressive attitudes of the owners and leads when I have followup questions.For the women reading reviews who plan to lead the communication on their home repair: while I have found it the norm to receive posturing and/or minimization of my questions/concerns. This never happened when working with Alison, or any other SOS employee.I write this review 2 yrs after service because each bad home improvement interaction has left me reflecting on my amazing experience with Alison, and the larger SOS team, and wishing other organizations would provide the same.

Our Technician (Chris), was excellent. He quickly determined our Run Capacitor had failed and immediately replaced it. Our a/c unit was immediately up and running. Chris was in and out in a flash. He was very a nice and very personable. I’ll definitely use SOS in the future.

SOS Mechanical has always gotten to us ASAP if anything goes wrong with the A/C at our office, and has never missed a maintenance inspection or filter change. One instance our entire A/C unit crashed in the middle of the summer, and Alison helped find us a great replacement unit at a great price and had it installed the next business day. You cant beat that service!

Great company. The technician was professional and on-time. He called ahead to let me know he was on his way. He did a through inspection of our system and advised me on the ways to keep my unit performing well. He discovered a leak that was missed on our home inspection and was able to repair it and advised me on the best places to purchase the type of filters we needed. SOS Answered my call at 9:30PM when many others around town would not. Chris was almost immediately en route and replaced the capacitor in less than 2 minutes, possibly a world record speed. Made me think about those chainsaw log cutting competitions -- someone should do an HVAC equivalent. Chris at SOS would probably win. 😎

I got a couple bids to replace our 17 year old Trane AC systems. I decided to go with SOS Mechanical for a couple reasons. Tom, the sales rep, was great with his presentation and was also great at communicating throughout the whole process. The second reason was that Steve, the owner, came out to carefully look over our situation before they gave us a quote. We have a unique zoning issue and the last company did a pretty funky job addressing it.After the equipment was installed Steve came back out to test the new zoning system and his team spent an extra day tweaking it until Steve was satisfied. We appreciated their creativity in solving our zoning issue, and they did not charge us extra for their extra time and materials.I just wanted to say what a great experience we had with the SOS team.The attention to detail by every person (at one time they had 5 or 6 people here working) exceeded our expectations. And of course we love the new Trane (so quiet) equipment and digital Nexia Thermostats. Well done! We recommend SOS Mechanical to anyone who has AC needs!

SOS was amazing! 1. Someone answered the phone instead of me having to leave a message 2. They had someone out within the same day. 3. They quickly diagnosed the issue was refrigerant level and they didnt try to say it was anything different. 4. They offered suggestions on how it could be improved, but werent pushy.Highly recommended!

Conner came out to pull semi-annual maintenance. He cleaned the outside unit for dirt and debris, checked the differential across my inside coils, cleaned and checked my whole system. . Added some refrigerate and gave me a good to go on my AC unit. GREAT JOB! I will choose them for my next maintenance trip. Easy to work with too.

Noticed our a/c had stopped working after 5 PM and they were here and had it working within 2 hours. Bad capacitor. Had an after hours fee but well worth it especially since we are on service plan and costs discounted enough to pretty much cover that. 20 stars!🤗

Sos was prompt, and the technician Bo was knowledgable and friendly.i paid 185 for a service fee, which was to be expected as it was the weekend. I was rather disgusted when i was told a simple ignitor ($25 retail cost from the manufacturer next day shipped) would be an additional 250 dollars in addition to the 185 i paid. I have no problem paying labor, or a markup on parts, but a 1000% markup on a part is unethical. I ordered a replacement from payne directly for 25 dollars and change, and will have it tomorrow. 2 minute install (1 screw and a plug) and ill be back in business.

We have used SOS for the past twelve years, for installation of new HVAC systems as well as their maintenance and upkeep. They are always on time, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Their technical support staff is the BEST.

After a power failure, my a/c units compressor got confused and started running backwards. Who knew that could happen? No fun having hot air pumped into my house when its 100 degrees outside. Ugh! I called SOS Sunday night, and on Monday Allison assured me that Chris would be taking care of me in just a few hours. I have many years experience working with both residential and commercial HVAC companies. I have been the most impressed by SOS Mechanicals over-all ability to communicate with a customer -- me. They told me what the problem(s) were, what would be needed to fix those problem(s), the cost, how they stand behind their products and repairs, and what I could expect in the future if I might need SOS again. The best surprise about SOS was their fair, competitive pricing. I feel they will start earning your confidence from your first call to them.

I contacted SOS Mechanical, a Trane dealer, to determine why my year old 5 ton Trane AC was not cooling my home as well as the previous unit (after having had 4 other AC service companies look into this problem). The tech (Allison) listened to us describe the issue and after looking at the unit determined that the unit installed was only 4 ton, not 5 ton. He communicated with Trane helping us finally interact with the Trane tech support team which we had been trying to consult with for weeks. With this information we were finally able to get the installer (Fixd Repair) to talk to us and acknowledge that they had installed the incorrect unit. After having dealt with a number of AC service companies attempting to resolve my problem, it was amazing to find a tech that was both knowledgeable and helpful.

SOS is amazing. They went out and looked at an AC unit for my house. They said everything looked good and they only charged me a service fee. Other companies had given me quotes to replace parts. AC is still working great!! Highly recommended.

SOS Mechanical replaced our 30+ year old HVAC system with a new Trane, and everything about the process was fantastic, from the consultation, to the install, to the walk through. They were responsive, on time, and exceeded our expectations. They gave us a time window for appointments, but even went further and texted us when the technician left, with a link to track their arrival. And the Trane smart thermostat is better than a Nest! Our outside AC unit broke down over the weekend (100+ degree weather). Chris C. got here fast! He was very professional and he knew what the problem was right away and solved it on the spot! We called SOS Mechanical on multiple occasions and theyve always been friendly, reliable, and fair.

Its been 100 degrees here for weeks and when my AC started reving like a truck engine and shaking the bedroom wall I knew I needed help. SOS got someone out to look the same day and gave everything a good look. They were able to order a replacement blower motor and replace it the next day. I cant speak for the tech in the attic but I didnt even break a sweat.

After experiencing multiple coil failures in my 10 year old York AC system, I called SOS for a diagnosis on my failing unit. Chris, the service tech, diagnosed another coil failure. It was time to step up to the BEST Trane system. Allison met with me the same day and provided detailed information about Trane systems available. On installation day, Hector and Manuel reworked the ductwork in my home and installed a new Trane variable unit. Chris and Connor assisted the installation team . Ive dealt with multiple mediocre AC repair services over the years but SOS is, hands down, the best service in central Texas!!

Commercial.First visit to address condenser leak. There were no problems with the cooling, just that a leak had appeared in the ceiling. The technician was polite and informative; however he was here less than an hour. The company charged $232 + tax! That is their flat rate listing. Let me repeat: TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-TWO DOLLARS FOR ABOUT A HALF HOUR OF WORK!Second visit was (we thought) to warranty the first visit, as we didnt have cooling problems until after their first visit. PER THE OWNER, THEY DO NOT WARRANTY THEIR WORK! Again, the technician was polite and informative -- except that the work wasnt warrantied. Again he worked for less than an hour. This time the company charged $289 + tax -- including a $101 ladder charge! And he didnt even fix the problem!When we called to try to understand HOW it had cost us over $500 and the problem wasnt even fixed, the owner was quite rude and informed us that their work WAS NOT WARRANTIED!We have permanently removed this company from our Vendor List.

Had my HVAC serviced today by Chris with SOS. This was the best service experience I have had since I moved to Austin 4 years ago. Thanks, SOS. I finally found a HVAC service provider and technician that I can trust. Chris is very experienced and a kind technician which is exceptional and rare. I wish we could duplicate him!

I wish there was an option for 5+!!!Stars. Five stars just does not seem like enough. SOS Mechanical has come to my rescue more times than I can remember. I use SOS for my commercial and residential needs. I am a PROUD member of the Comfort Club. If you are not familiar with this service stop reading this and call them now. It is a game changer. As a wife, mom and business owner remembering what my filter size WHEN I remember to buy them (normally when my AC doesnt seem to be cooling correctly) is just impossible. It is such an amazing feeling when I come home from work to change clothes to run kids to multiple practices, feed them, etc ... and there is a delivery waiting by the door with my filters and sometimes a sweet treat. Our A/C went out last night. Knowing it is still summer, we thought we were going to have to wait a few days before someone could come out. But, Chey and Allison were so great and they were able to get someone to come out to us TODAY! The technician, Chris, came exactly at the time he said he would come and was very professional. He figured out the problem quickly and was able to fix it right away! He did not try to sell us something we did not need - he just fixed the simple problem and provided recommendations for us so it would not happen again. They went WAY above and beyond. I have complete trust in them. They did a fantastic job and have provided amazing support when I needed it. Ive been able to text them questions and they give me answers. If I need anything, they have someone out that afternoon, even on a Saturday. SOS was prompt, called ahead as they said they would, did the job they came to do and also addressed another related issue about which we inquired. They reviewed the results of their visit and took time to discuss the related issue as well. You cant ask for a more responsive and personable visit than the employees at SOS. SOS staff are so responsive in what Im sure is a busy season for them. Realized A/C was out around 3am so sent an email. They responded at 6:10am and had the A/C repaired by 10am! Thy diagnosed the problem almost immediately upon arrival and answered all my questions. Were cool again! You wont go wrong by calling SOS for your A/C needs!

I wanted a certified technician to further inspect an older HVAC unit at a house I was considering buying. SOS Mechanical sent the technician out to meet with me and check everything out. Despite the Trane unit being old it was running as intended. The technician was efficient and gave an honest assessment of the unit without trying to upsell any unessacary repairs or services. Their honesty and professional inspection gave me great piece of mind, so when the unit eventually fails down the road I will call SOS Mechanical.

SOS Mechanical absolutely lived up its name when our A/C suddenly went out in the middle of the Texas summer! They came right out, were very friendly and professional, he wore a mask (it was during COVID-19 pandemic), and he fixed it fast! Highly recommended!

SOS came out to check my A/C system for a leak. Water was dripping from my ceiling and it ruined the drywall. When the tech told me the drain pipes were loose and I needed new coil. I then showed the tech a receipt, which, shows that they did the replacement of the coil the last time and left the pipes loose causing the leak. The tech left as fast as could and I never heard a word from them. DO NOT use these people.

Initially was told they could come out Monday, before the phone call was over, was told they could squeeze us in Friday at 8 am. Received a call about an hour later saying they would have a technician within 30 minutes. Appreciated the great communication and fast response!! Will use company again for future A/C problems.

AC went out at 9 PM on Sunday. Called and was given an approximate time for the next day. Chris, the tech was friendly and explained everything. Replaced the part and had us cooling in less than 30 minutes.

8/16/23 SOS Mechanical A/C All I got to say its a rip-off I would advise to stay away, charge me a arm and a leg and refusing to do a breakdown for me on the charges, replace a fan motor that cost $70 and spend less than 30 minutes on the job a total of $741
