Quality has tanked. My last Lennox lasted 12 years. Now in less than 4 years with a new unit, Ive had to get major service on my unit 5 times. One of them was the replacement of the exterior coil, and another one was a major leak in the fittings near the coil, where the copper just wore away in 3-4 years! The unit is within a covered stairwell and under a roof. The previous Lennix, I had gave me 12 years of reasonable service and so I went out of my way to buy the same brand. Big mistake!Adding insult to injury, within one year the corrosion and rust, made it look like my previous unit looked after 7 years. And I even applied a protective coat to the outer housing. All to no avail. On the last meltdown, no parts and no date for getting them! Are they kidding? Nope. After 15 years with Lennox, I switched to another brand.
Do not get a Lennox furnace! I had a contractor screw me over, put in the wrong size, nothing about the furnace is right, the temperature is all over the place, extremes amount of dust everywhere, like Ive never had before. I reported this to the headquarters they told me to have another Lennox dealer come look at it. Its a small rural area so once they know who put it in no one else will come look at it, seems like they know he did bad work and they dont want to get involved. Because of all the furnace problems having to run the system at 75 degrees to even get it kinda warm in the house my heat bill was not lowered at all. I spent $12,500 and no one will even come get this thing to work right. Do not buy Lennox if they wont even fix their own products or have any backing on making the contractors do their job. It does have a Lennox warranty and a warranty through the contractor but no one will fix it, its been almost a year!!! Do not buy!!!!
I had a Lennox furnace installed June 2019; it has a 10 year parts warranty. In September of this year it failed; the company that installed it no longer operates in my area so I called another service company as I needed it fixed quickly; they diagnosed the problem as a failed inducer motor which they obtained from the local Lennox parts depot. They advised me that I would need to contact Lennox to get reimbursed for the cost of the motor as it was under warranty. When I contacted Lennox they said they dont accept warranty claims from customers and that the claim had to be submitted by the service company. In turn the service company states that they dont get involved with warranty claims between customers and manufuturers. Ive tried to get this resolved for 2 months and get the same answers. Effectively the Lennox warranty is useless. They have no interest in helping out their customers. I will never again purchase a lennox furnace or any other product they make and will advise friends and family accordingly. In your response to my initial review you requested that I provide contact information so that someone from your team could contact me; I provided the contact information as requested 3 weeks ago and have yet to hear from anyone. It would seem that your response was simply an attempt to make it appear that you were addressing my issue when in fact there has been not attempt to do so. Another example of poor customer support.
In mid-summer, I had two brand new Lennox systems installed. State of the art. Spent aa great deal of money. As soon as they powered up the main floor system, it was apparent that the motor was making way too much noise. Service Manager of my installer came and agreed, ordered a replacement motor and flywheel. Installed them, and while part of the noise was gone, there still is a background whine that drives me crazy. They then came and rebuilt the cold air return larger. Made no difference. Lennox response is yeah, we get at least a complaint a day about this. My installer says that all the companies use the same Genteq / Regal Beloit motors, and he can swap them all day and nothing will change. He has no idea how to resolve the issue. So, I contacted Lennox directly via their website in mid-December, filling out the form with all the particulars. Got a response back, can you send us all the particulars? So I called them today and after giving them all that info AGAIN, they basically said its up to the dealer to resolve the issue. They refused to ensure that a senior technical person reviewed the situation. So, my advice is to NOT BUY LENNOX SYSTEMS. I am telling everyone I know not to. I have told my dealer to come get the system and replace it.
Lennox Customer service is ZERO! I also will tell you that their thermostats are TERRIBLE quality. We purchased 16 A/C units with thermostats for a new beautiful home. These were purchased through their Territory Manager approving the price and warranty. His name is Josh Adams and for unknown reasons, they still employ him in this position ten years later. He misrepresented our 10-year warranty that he confirmed in an email before the purchase. In the first year two thermostats went out. And in the last 5 years we have had to replace 7 thermostats. In replacing these, we have 3 different models. This leads me to believe there is a problem here in the quality. Typically a model would be the same for a few years. They replaced them up until this summer. Then after more than 2 months to get a response, they tell me it is not in warranty with the unit itself. Up until then, everyone I spoke with didnt comment on the warranty coverage. They told me to deal with the Territory manager that approved the warranty. The Corporate Consumer Affairs Director even ignored multiple phone messages and emails from me. This USA company is an embarrassment to our country. The lack of service, honesty and standing behind your products is shameful for Lennox Industries. I will continue to share my opinions regarding this company to anyone interested.
I purchased a Lennox AC Model EL16XC1 along with a Lennox Air Handler for my home in 2020 and have had nothing but problems since it was installed. More recently, in the past month, the condenser has made loud rattling/buzzing noises (see attached video) until it finally failed last week. I had two licensed, Lennox-authorized AC service providers confirm that the compressor has failed and needs to be replaced. They each tried to locate a replacement compressor, which is under warranty by Lennox, but were told they were on back order with a delivery time estimated at 3 – 4 weeks. Since then, I have made numerous calls to Lennox Customer Affairs (Paul B, Carmen, Tammy and Pete, Case #03600494) trying to find a solution. I was told to submit service records, which I did along with all other documentation requested. Each time I called for an update, I was told that they required 3-5 days to review it adding that any resolution would be at the “discretion of the manufacturer.” Paul B. suggested that we just go ahead and order the backordered compressor in the hopes that the delivery “might be sooner.” Tammy told me she “couldn’t give (me) any information” and that my contractor had to call the service line. Carmen told me to “find a compressor” from a non-Lennox dealer and submit it to the Lennox warranty department for approval and reimbursement. However, each time we called the warranty department we got an automated response that the warranty dept was unavailable and to call back later. I called Lennox Customer Affairs back with my service contractor on the phone, spoke to Carmen again who transferred us to the warranty department, and we got the same automated message. We did this again with representative Pete, who also transferred us to the same automated message. As of today, I have been without a functioning AC for 5 days in the South Florida summer heat waiting for a response from Lennox. My service contractor and I have done everything they have told us to do in order to obtain a Lennox-approved warranty repair. My contractor who has worked in this industry for 30+ years said that he has never experienced a situation like this. We have been left with no choice but to purchase a new compressor from a non-Lennox dealer, at my own expense, in order to get my AC working again and protect the more vulnerable members of my household. The fact that Lennox does not maintain a supply of critical replacement parts for their HVAC systems when so much of the country is experiencing life-threatening heat is irresponsible. Manufacturers who do not provide the components necessary to sustain the warranty that they sell consumers are effectively not honoring that warranty. And for a manufacturer of such a costly and life-sustaining product as air conditioning to not honor their warranty has far greater implications. By the end of the day today, I will have spent $3,000 in labor and parts that should have been covered by Lennox to get my AC working again. And in the hour that I have spent writing an account of this ordeal, I have tried 8 times to reach Lennox Customer Affairs and been told each time that due to high call volume I should try my call later….
I live in a 2 year old home that was finished in August 2022 and I closed the same month. Our HVAC system is made by Lennox, and after living here barely 2 years, the AC compressor has failed and needs to be replaced. Imagine buying a brand new home, thinking that since all the major systems are new, you would not have to replace such a crucial component of your AC unit. I am so disgusted by how Lennox is handling this and how we were treated on our phone call with them. Future homeowners, beware of purchasing a house that has a Lennox system installed. They are clearly not made to last more than a year or two and when it does fail, Lennox will offer you nothing and stare at you blankly. HVAC is a major part of the home and had I known we bought a home with such a poorly made system, I would have left this house right on the market where I found it. Lennox will also not work with you so please prepare to deal with unprofessional customer service. I am so disgusted and turned off by this company.
The product does seem to work reasonably well but the warranty department was nothing but problems. I bought a brand new house and submitted my extended warranty registration within the permitted window and in accordance with the instructions on the form and they will not cover it. I have 2 AC units and the instructions say that the unit SNs are on a sticker on the literature bag. I got that sticker and registered both units. Apparently you are supposed to register the coil, furnace, and as unit all separately. They were unwilling to do anything abotu the issue.
Can I give them zero stars?? Do not buy Lennox. Their products are horrible quality, and they know it as shown in the fact that they dont stand by their products in their lame warranty policy. My a/c coil went out, 5 year old house, entirely Lennox system. I completed warranty docs for the a/c units, but did not submit docs for every Lennox part (I did not go into the attic searching for serial numbers on the Lennox parts) and they will not warranty those parts past 5 years because I didnt register each specific part. Their system shows the parts are 5 years old and the units were installed all together and new, BUT, bottom line, they do not stand by their products. $3200 per unit to replace, and BOTH of my units need replacement. And by the way, EVERY OTHER a/c company warranties their products for 10 YEARS, no questions asked, no registration needed. But NOT LENNOX! On top of that, my Lennox licensed a/c repair company said they do not use Lennox parts because they are known to fail. HA! They recommend Trane or Carrier products, so my new coils (installed tomorrow) will be one of those products. Also, I spoke with the RUDEST customer service manager when calling Lennox. I have never been spoken to so rudely or with as much attitude from a customer service manager - she even stated that she had nothing else to say and was going to just hang up the phone. If you do have to call Lennox, be prepared to wait on hold for an hour, which I did on three separate occasions.
Don’t be fooled by the “10-year warranty” Lennox offers. While the parts might be covered, the real cost comes from their defective products. I’ve had two major failures in my system—a defective evaporator coil and now a failed condenser coil. I’ve already paid $675 for the evaporator repair and now face a $2,100 bill for the condenser replacement.Despite regular maintenance by certified professionals, Lennox has refused to stand behind their product, leaving me to cover these massive costs. To make matters worse, I was excluded from a class action lawsuit that should have covered the defective evaporator coil, simply because my system was purchased in 2016, even though it’s a 2015 model. If you’re considering a Lennox system, be ready for frequent breakdowns and a company that doesn’t care about its customers. Lennox is pushing the burden of their defective products onto consumers, costing us thousands. I’ve filed complaints with the State of Louisiana’s Attorney General’s Office and the FTC to hold Lennox accountable, and I will continue to share my experience publicly to warn others. Avoid Lennox until they take responsibility and start treating their customers fairly.
I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Lennox air conditioning units has been so frustrating that I feel compelled to share my ordeal. I purchased a Lennox AC unit with high hopes, but it has turned out to be one of the worst investments Ive ever made.First and foremost, the quality of Lennox equipment is abysmally poor. From the start, the unit has been plagued with issues. It frequently malfunctions, making a racket that sounds like a jet engine taking off. Not only is it noisy, but it also fails to maintain a consistent temperature, leading to constant discomfort in my home. The components seem to be subpar, and it feels like the unit was built to fail.To make matters worse, Lennoxs warranty is misleading and inadequate. They advertise a comprehensive warranty, but it turns out that this warranty does not cover labor costs associated with repairs. This means that when their substandard equipment inevitably breaks down (which it will), youll be hit with a hefty bill for labor on top of the cost of parts. The so-called warranty is essentially a false promise, leaving you to cover expenses that you reasonably assumed would be included.I have had multiple service calls, each costing me more money than the last. The repair technicians have been honest in their assessment: Lennox units are notoriously difficult to service due to their poor design and cheap materials. This has only added to my frustration and financial burden. In summary, Lennox air conditioning units are a terrible choice if you value reliability and cost-efficiency. The equipment is poorly constructed and prone to frequent problems, and the warranty does nothing to alleviate the financial strain of repairs. Save yourself the trouble and invest in a more reputable brand. You’ll thank yourself later.
I’m going out of my way to search for these people just to leave a review. I can tell you that we put the “top-of-the-line“ Lennox units in our house. Immediately, we started having problems throughout the warranty and now beyond the warranty. I would never, ever… Ever purchase a Lennox unit again.
I bought an AC unit 5 years ago and it stopped working. I called my service company that installed it and amidst Covid 19 they couldnt come in for a week. They came in and it was days after the warranty period, they called Lennox and was told it was past the warranty period so I was going to have to pay for it ($500). Less than 2 weeks after the warranty period, part was in and installed and back to normal but any refusal to budge on a warranty period is a sure fire way to prove you have a poor product and you have poor customer service.
The Lennox gear installed in my Drees home in 2019 has failed twice. The compressor failed after a year and it cost me outrageous labor but at least they covered the part. In 2023, the evaporator coil failed. Lennox could not provide a replacement part. Their warranty service, customer service, and consumer affairs departments were totally worthless. We spent thousands to buy a compatible replacement part from Carrier via our contractor that is also a Lennox dealer. They said this is a problem they see all the time with Lennox and dont sell Lennox anymore because of it. We hired an attorney and wrote a demand letter for reimbursement after being ignored by Lennox. To date, 8 month later, we have heard absolutely nothing from Lennox. We filed a lawsuit against them today.
Our 3-year-old Lennox compressor was on its last legs. While the unit still worked it would not hold temp and never shut down. Our local HVAC company came out and diagnosed the problem, and the issue then became we cant get the part. In fact we were told there were none in the US.I called the Lennox customer service number. I spoke with John (located in southern Indiana). I got him and our local to talk and the parts appeared. This was great.I am very disappointed that a 3 year old unit failed, and I understand reliability statistics better than most. A $1300 charge to install is a lot of money, especially when Lennox didnt even suggest the unit be returned to them for an autopsy of the failure. There was never a suggestion of some percentage rebate of the expense.Im not sure what Dave Lennox would make of it.I am certainly very unhappy with this Lennox product. I am happy with them working with our local vendor to get this issue resolved.
Do Not Buy Lennox. Here’s why…New unit installed in Spring 2019 by previous home owner. Summer 2023, coils needed replaced, warranty repair cost $2500. Summer 2024, compressor needs replaced, warranty repair cost estimate over $3000. Instead of fixing compressor, decided to trash Lennox unit and replace with a brand that actually works for the same price as the compressor repair. Lennox brand has nothing but problems.
Stay away from Lennox, quality sucks, compressor in my AC unit died after 16 months. We got stuck with the labor bill but replaced via warranty. BBB wouldnt do anything, so Id have to sue Lennox...
13 years ago we purchased one of Lennoxs best systems. The coil is now leaking. We will be replacing with a Carrier system with aluminum coil system at a cost of 24k. Hopefully well get more than 13 years out of it.
Buyer beware! Icomfort thermostats are junk! Mine went out just after warranty expired. Cost me $1200 to replace. Called Lennox for help. They denied they have a problem with their overpriced thermostats. Time for a class action against them!
Beware.. less than 3 year old evaporator coil needed to be replaced. As it turns out some are made of copper and aluminum, dissimilar metals that will leak at some point in time. Local dealers here have replaced them all they have installed (yes, all of them). While they will replace it under warranty to an all aluminum one, the way it should have been built, even though they sold a defective unit, they wont cover the refrigerant bill and trip fee that is ensued from the service call to replace it under warranty. Thats over $700... for an in warranty coil. They know this will happen and thats why they dont want to cover this (see the fine print) even though its their fault for mis-manufacturing this dissimilar metal coil. All the new ones are all aluminum. That should tell you something. They have a consumer affairs division that is supposed to help in these cases on a case by case basis. You know the outcome with the company line. If they are going to charge you for an in warranty issue, why even bother investing in a Lennox? The black eye they get and the loss of business from not taking care of customers is deserved for this. Dont make the same mistake. Chose an alternative.
Grateful that we new homeowners, but the LENNOX HVAC stopped working ONE year after closing. The builder points to the manufacturer, and well the manufacturer points fingers to the builder. They didnt stand behind the warranty of the product while we struggled with NO heat in winter. Lennox is selling builders defective/lemons HVAC units to the small man. Called and spoke with Paul and Sara and had no help. Now we have to pay to have it repaired. Its time for a class action lawsuit.
We bought a New Lennox 14 sear A/C & heat pump from LENNOX just a few years ago and had a local company “All American Air” install it. We have had mechanical issues every year from date of installation. Now a “Coil” is not working and LENNOX Headquarters seems to be stepping up to the plate thanks to upper management. So what’s next is I’ll edit this review when all is followed through which they have installed a “NEW UNIT” with a full 10 year warranty so they get a BIG 5 star for a gratuitous new unit:)
Lennox is terrible. I have a unit at my home and the heater is out. A repairman has been there for three days working on it but most of the time hes spent on hold with their god awful tech support!! The system is only 6 years old and has been a nightmare to maintain. I will be pricing an American Standard system as soon as I can. I wish I could leave less than one star rating. I will be advising EVERYONE to avoid Lennox.24 hours later, still no one from Lennox has reached out to me! Its about to be 7 degrees in texas. If I have home damage from the cold, expect a lawsuit.
These guys suck I don’t even know how they stay in business because they can’t answer the phone. You can’t even register your product online because their online registration site is down. I’ve dealt with other AC unit manufactures and as terrible as they may be at least they answer the phone, Lord willing they will go out of business soon. Photo below of Lennox Ac company owners having a good laugh at their sucker customer’s
This is one of the first times Ive left a 1 star review. Unfortunately Lennox is not the brand I needed it to be. Bought a new Split AC system at 12000$ and 3 years later, no longer functioning and no way to get it serviced. When contacting Lennox they replied with a list of vendors (that cannot come to my location) and no way to pursue the discussion. When someone contacts you directly, they are seeking support beyond their local capacity, maybe you should listen...Many months later Lennox stepped up and had a vendor provide warranty work. Readjusted star review given this was the decent thing to do.
If lemon laws existed for HVAC systems this company would be out of business. My system broke down 3 times in 5 years and I get no help from this manufacturer. They just pass the buck.... Update: Had to buy a whole new system. $7,000 . Lennox did nothing to help me and after many phone calls and emails. 4 months later they replied here with zero help and lies.
Id like to give their customer service less than one after today, but their only saving grace was the first time I called to get technical help with my new iComfort s30 thermostate, was the gentleman who was fantastic a 5☆, (he lived near Rockwall, srry forgot the name)!!!! So the average of my 2 experiences is 2.5. Because TODAY was a completely different story!!! I sat on hold for 1hr 30mins and finally hung up!! Does ANY company think customers have that kind of time to waste??? Shame on them for having such disregard for their customers and poor management!!!
Worse customer experience I have witnessed in years. Consumer line cannot provide any info and forwards you to Consumer Affairs who can only provide info to a contractor and contractor is getting same run around. HOURS ON HOLD!! Meanwhile I am into 3rd week with no heat because of a part (motor) one would think they should have ready stock of is nowhere to be found. Will never buy another Lennox considering this unit is only 4 years old!!
My new three year old unit has a hole in the coil. I’m stuck with a two thousand dollar bill and still no coil for over a month! What is a warranty? It’s a joke is the answer. I’m paying full price for defective unit and full price for labor and coolant. This is what I get in return? I’ve called numerous times and you so called responsible professionals don’t return emails or phone calls. You should be glad I don’t live in Texas. You company and products are a joke. Thanks for screwing me over. I’m getting madder by the day!
We have 2 units and were told how qualified the installers were and how they service the customer. They miss wired the units blowing one unit and damaging the other. I was told they we going to extend the warranty and they switched that to a membership. It has been 2 weeks since our coil and TVX went out on our 5 year unit. These parts failed on July 22, 2021. This is the second time we have had these replaced. Lennox cannot provide a date when the parts w will be available. I just learned I should have gone with Rheem because they will pull parts off the assembly line or another unit to service the customer. Lennox will not do the same as Rheem, which puts the dealer in a bad position.
Lennox makes a terrible product. We had constant issues with the evap coil leaking. After our 3rd evap coil leaked again, we decided it was time to move on. The Lennox unit was just 6 years old, and we had maintenance performed every 6 months.
I am not a happy camper with my HVAC Lennox A/C unit. This unit is only 3 years old and the Evaporator Coil is leaking. I have no A/C and have been waiting on part for 3 weeks. What is the deal here???? I understand you dont have any in the warehouse?????
Like everyone else, my brand new coils leaked on a system less than 1 year old. Strange thing - you cannot get parts unless you are a Lennox Dealer. Interesting. This means huge incentive for Lennox dealers to install the known faulty Lennox HVAC systems because they know you will be tied to them for all of the costly repairs. Before you purchase any HVAC system, I encourage you to research heavily (Lennox lawsuit for faulty coils - from all of the reviews seems like they are still selling these coils) and call the companies customer service departments to get a feel for how much they want to make things right. Nothing is perfect; but it says a lot when a company wants to do the right thing. I would give Lennox a zero on products and customer service (actually they have no customer service). P.S - if you have an HVAC contractor who wants to install Lennox - avoid them at all costs. Any honest contractor would not install such a piece of worthless junk with zero customer service to back their lousy product.
All I can say to any consumer looking for a new air conditioning system is RUN as fast and as far away from Lennox as you can! I bought a new home - new construction, new everything - and unfortunately it also had two Lennox air conditioning units. Well, less than two years in the home and guess what? Yeah, both units have the defective coils you can Google and read the lawsuits about. But it gets even better. It seems they settled these lawsuits but some of us lucky consumers still had the defective units installed, so we cant be part of the settlement (that really wasnt a deal for consumers anyway). What does this all mean? It means that I have TWO DEFECTIVE air conditioning units that are less than two years old, and through the very generous LIMITED WARRANTY (yes, that is sarcasm you detect), Lennox will replace the DEFECTIVE parts without charge - I just have to pay the labor to replace those DEFECTIVE coils, all $1,500! For two air conditioning units, less than two years old, with DEFECTIVE parts that Lennox KNEW were defective when the units were installed.Yes, I called Lennox to ask, Really? Defective parts you knew about on brand new units and I have to pay the labor? The rep I spoke with said she would email me forms to fill out for their consumer affairs team but guess what? Yeah, those forms never arrived. They dont want to do anything, they arent going to do anything. So you know what I can do? I can warn every person I possibly can to avoid this company like the plague. Do you want to have to pay $1,500 for units you just paid thousands of dollars for less than two years ago? Defective units they knowingly sold to you? They see nothing wrong with this scenario.Sound like the kind of company you want to do business with? Run. Run fast. Run far. Find a Rheem dealer, find any other dealer you can find, but heed my warning to avoid Lennox. I would rate zero stars if it was possible.
I have had three breakdowns of my Lennox AC unit. My contractor has repaired three times. The latest malfunction has been repaired but the problem is thenon communication of Lennox. On three occasions I have held for thirty minutes or more trying to reach their Consumer Affairs office. They never come on the phone. The company is one of our old and reputable companies in America. However, they refuse to talk to me even one time. I filed a Consumer Affairs Questionnaire three weeks ago and have never heard a word from the company. The worst PR for a good company I have ever experienced.
Will never purchase another Lennox product. My homes gas furnace, model G61MPV stopped working. The repair guy diagnosed the problem, an issue with the gas valve, on October 5th, 2021. Have been without heat in my home in Southern Ontario Canada since then. Lennox does not have the gas valve in stock, and is waiting for a shipment from overseas to arrive. Estimated arrival date: January 15th, 2022. Meanwhile below zero temperatures starting at the end of October, and the possibility of frozen pipes and additional damage every day we wait. It is now Dec. 15th - no update on the arrival date of the part from Lennox. Dealer can do nothing without the part. Do not buy from Lennox. Will never purchase another Lennox product.
Lennox USA has provided terrible customer service to help define a delivery date for a replacement copper coil used in Air Handler CBX250HV-48. The current copper coil is leaking refrigerant and will shortly stop functioning. The coil has a 10 year warranty and the AC unit is 6 years old. Lennox Customer Service and Lennox Consumer Affairs Departments continue to tell me that I must work with the local Service Contractor, which I have done, but the Contractor has no knowledge of the delivery date nor how to confirm a delivery date. The potential for significant cost to continue refilling coolant or worst case, installing a new air handler ($2700.), is prohibitive and Lennox will accept no responsibility in rebating the cost of the refill or the new Air Handler. In addition, I am an 81 year old with an Asthma condition wihich requires that I live in a cool, low humidity, allergen-free environment. The average temperature here in Cape Coral, Florida this time of year is 90 degrees,Please help me with this situation. Thank You. Frank Casdia
I have a Lennox unit that very likely needed a simple capacitor replaced, except that it was built into a part that includes several other components. Even if I pulled it apart myself, I wouldnt be able to source a replacement part without going through a dealer. So I called someone out, got gouged (dont know what else to call replacing a part thats under warranty in less than 30 minutes for $500), and Lennox replied to my inquiries with a form letter that did nothing to address my concerns as a consumer. They clearly just cant be bothered to care.
Bad Choice. We bought a high end Lennox system last year through Costco and really regret it. Lennox has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. The wifi thermometer keeps malfunctioning. Called multiple times and waits forever. Finally get through and they are rude and unhelpful. Asked to speak with a customer service manager and they told me that Maria Sandor would call me back but she never did. Now no way to get through except to go through the wait again. Could not be more frustrated and disappointed. Please buy another brand because you will regret buying from Lennox. Dealers pass the buck to Lennox and Lennox passes the buck to dealers. Vicious circle that has no end.
Feels like this is a running issue with Lennox Industries and customer support from reading the comments below. Might be time to get some govt agencies on top of these scammers who think it is ok to ignore their customers and give them the run around for hours when they call in for their customer warranty. I have a unit clearly defective from day 1 and well documented issues and they send me run around after run around. I am very disappointed in this company and advise people steer clear of them.
My iComfort thermostat has been inoperable for an extended time period three times in ten years. My previous unit ran for 14 years and I was never without service. For that reason alone, I will not purchase nor recommend anyone else purchase a Lennox system. They are marketing company and do not stand behind their products.
We have been without heat for 52 days. We are waiting for a part that is covered under warranty and have been spending winter with space heaters on that cause the breaker box to trip.Sleeping when it’s 20° outside and working from home when it’s 55° inside has been bearable. We’re making the best of it because heat is a luxury. The oven has been the hub of our house to huddle around. The part was supposed to come in over 3 weeks ago, and the estimated receiving date keeps pushing out. We’ve been lied to about it being shipped multiple times and that is fine—what we do NOT understand is that we have to pay for labor once it gets here!Over 7 weeks without heat, and we have to pay for it?We bought space heaters and have an energy bill through the roof from turning on the oven to heat the house. The steam from the shower condensates and lingers ALL day in our bathroom because of the cold. We are worried this may end up causing wood damage.Had we known they were going to take this long to fix it, we would’ve bought a new one.Having been a small business owner myself, sometimes doing the right thing is more important than charging another customer. The CS people have been very nice—I feel bad they have to make excuses for the way Lennox is run.I obviously would not recommend buying a unit from them. Service and providing parts is too important when choosing appliances.Even more important is providing accurate information relating to the repair. Telling someone a part will come in by a date and then pushing that date out a week at a time is a great way to earn customer loyalty.
Purchased a brand new system in 2012. The first year, we had to replace a relay that almost started a fire. The third year our solar panels that came with the system stopped working. This year, we had to replace the heat exchanger in the attack that turned into a pile of rust, in West Texas mind you where we only get about 20 inches of rain a year and the humidity is only about 60% most of the year. Although it was covered by warranty, the labor cost us a little over $500. This is even after Lennox has issued a notice that the exchangers are faulty. Absolutely run the other way from these products. They are not worth the money.
We had a Trane air conditioning it was very good and efficient. it start leaking and had to replace it.smith heating and air conditioning salesman down played all the other model of air condition and sold us Lennox 3.5T. This unit is not efficient and will not function as our old Trane air condition. we are sorry that believed the salesman. will not recommend Lennox
Bought a high efficiency IComfort zoned new furnace and ac last year for around $17,000. Less than a year later, the circuit board broke down on Memorial Day Weekend. I understand products will break but what I dont understand is that a multi-million dollar company not taking calls for technicians out in the field 24 hrs a day during high heat temperatures like this. The technician called them on Saturday and Lennox did not call him back until Tuesday, the day after Memorial Day. Most of us have had to work in high peak times long hours to get things done but not to have someone available to answer calls for the technicians during crazy heat like this is unprofessional and not acceptable in my opinion. I was flabbergasted to hear this. I have 7 rental houses and will no longer buy from Lennox after this experience. Today is Thursday 5 days later and we are hoping that the part will arrive today so that we can finally have ac again. We have been living in a hotel to survive the heat since my husband has health issues.
I purchased a Lennox unit for my home eighteen months ago. I have had to have it repaired several times. I purchased it because it had a ten year warranty. I did not understand the difference between a labor repair and a labor inspection. $7,000,00 and eighteen months later they want $660,00 to repair it again. It used to be when it was under warranty the manufacturer paid whoever replaced the part that was under warranty. Now tell me who is screwing who here. Twice in two weeks coolray came and fixed it they said they reset it.In Exactly one week it went out again. They said a low pressure switch and a circuit board was the culprits at a price of $ 660.00 to repair again. I refused to pay it and left the unit on. Wow would you believe that in three days the damned thing repaired itself and is still working a week later. What a machine (repairs itself) I bet I am the only guy in this country that has one. By the way when I called coolray back to tell them I was not going to pay to have it fixed they told me the person that gave me the quote of $660.00 made a mistake the labor cost was going to be $250,00 now Who in the hell is screwing who.
My a/c unit coil has a large leak, this is a well documented problem with Lennoxs uncoated coils. The part is covered by warranty, but I have to pay $795.00 in labor charges. The unit is less than two years old.
My air conditioner just turned 6 about a week ago. I live in Colorado, no need for air yet, but thought I would turn it on before I needed it. Ran for a minute shut off. Tried calling Climate masters, the people who installed it. Got some automated call line. Stayed on hold for an hour, left my cell number, they said it would keep me in the cue. Called every day for a week and a half, wrote them an email. Finally had to schedule an online appointment just to get a call back. The product is still under warranty, should not have failed yet. If the original installer wasnt using some call line they could have responded and captured the freon before it leaked throughout my house.
Low quality even here in CanadaAfter six years ( brand new home)the furnace is not workingI sent e-mail as you said but nobody answered
HOMEOWNERS, DO NOT BY LENNOX HVAC. After 2 years the evaporator coil leaks. They have no parts in the entire USA! This occurred twice in a row with new machines after 2 years. Shoddy way to run a business.
PART 1:On or about June 11, 2020 my husband and I had a complete HVAC install done by a local distributer in Centerville Ohio. This was a Lennox heat pump system (furnace and A/C unit as well as new iComfort thermostat). SIDE NOTE: Our previous system was 40 years old, working fine, but on its last leg. We wanted a higher efficiency, system. What we thought was going to be a nice efficient LENNOX system with a company we believed to be reputable has ended up being a complete nightmare. Around 6 months after our new install, January 14, 2021 when temperatures were steadily dropping, we noticed our heat was not working as well as it was a few days prior. Upon further investigation, we noticed the outside unit was frozen -ice had formed around the entire bottom half of the unit. This ice was about 2-3 inches thick and not melting due to the temperatures and the system not thawing it properly. We called the install company to come out and evaluate the problem. They then proceeded to try and thaw the unit. Nothing was working to reduce the ice due to it being so cold outside. In the meantime, our “emergency heat” had been going and causing our energy cost to increase 200%. We purposefully bought one of the most energy efficient LENOX systems to cut costs, and here we are PAYING MORE. The install company also replaced the iComfort thermostat because they believed the thermostat was defective and was not communicating properly with the system. LENNOX was supposed to be the best and here we are having to deal with this in the dead of winter with our young children, mid COVID, and energy costs jumping this drastically was becoming an issue. The install company called on January 29,2021 to see if they could send someone out on February 1, 2021 to try and thaw it out more. This time it worked. The temperatures were just warm enough for the thaw to work.Over the next few months, I noticed my energy bill was still climbing and it didn’t make sense at all. I figured this was our new normal and the system we got from LENNOX was not as efficient as they led us to believe. I felt duped by LENNOX. CONTINUED... the whole encounter in the photos since it limited me here.
Ok, so maybe my iComfort deserves at least one star. When it works, it works fine. But it frequently loses connectivity, probably once a month in the past year. And when it does that, the unit changes programs and turns off the humidifier . Happened recently when we were away for a week so we got home and found that it had changed from AWAY mode to a program, fully heating the house for who knows how long. No help with any concession regarding the warranty of five years (ours is 6 years old) despite a record of having called numerous times in the past. Referred me to Consumer affairs where they put me through all the same rigmarole as the Wifi specialists. My original installer recommended buying a Google Nest and he will install it. However, Im concerned that I may lose some of the multi-stage features of the furnace. Very disappointed with the support on this very expensive product.
Just bought a house with 5 year old Lennox AC Coil went out and cost me $1800 to replace getCan’t get through to Lennox by phonr
My Lennox Package Heat Pump is less than two years old and quit cooling completelySeems to be a very common occurrence with coilsClass action lawsuit thats past the application dateWish I would NOT have went with a #LennoxMy #LennoxCantDo72 #LennoxSucks #DontBuyLennox
Not so much. Cadillac of the Industry? Hardly. I was sold a bill of goods. I bought two of their Elite units and coils. One in the Fall of 2014 and one in the Spring of 2015. The one that is 2 ½ years old has failed TWICE already. The first repair was a capacitor and was about $150. The second was a failure of their coil. The coil is over $700 and labor is another $700. DONT BUY THESE UNITS. Its all they PR and a lot of hype. Go buy a Trane
Bought new furnace and a coil. then they told me I was a day late registering, called customer service, no help and i just bought the unit. Lennox stinks. to do this to a new customer : unbelieveable will not be buying lennox again
Beautiful view anytime of the year.
Would love to be able to order replacement parts for a FX3030 CPS machine as they are a dealer but every time i call Im on hold 30+ minutes. I was even able to go to lunch one day and come back and the line was still never picked up. Horrible service, do not use this company, if you can even get a hold of anyone to use this company.
Quite possibly the worse consumer- facing product I have ever been associated with. Never before have I had such a horrible experience with a product. I have a four year old unit and am now going on my third evaporator coil.
Absolutely love my Lennox HVAC units! Had a great experience with their dealer as well. I recommend their products to everyone.
Horrible place, run like a prison camp. Avoid working with or for Lennox. Place is frequently overrun by cockroaches. Most of the positive reviews are from Lennox employees trying to boost the companies profile.
Not buying Lennox again. They make sub-standard products which fail easily within a couple of years resulting in a rip-off charge by local technicians.
Thank you Lisa! Why can’t every warranty department be like yours. High Praise! She answered everything correctly. And knew all the answers. She needs a Raise!
Attention truckers, this place is too dangerous for 53ft trailers.
Where is customer service???Ive called several times on different days & waited 30min each time to talk to someone about a warranty but no luck. I cannot continue to spend money & time on a company that does not care about their customers. This is terrible
Plenty of parking and a short term visitor section close to the door
Best system ever! Quiet, efficient and never had a problem in over 7 years. Awesome!
This is an awesome company!
