**Review of United Home Services**I am deeply disappointed with the service I received from United Home Services and feel compelled to share my experience. My family’s safety was jeopardized due to their negligence and lack of accountability.We initially contacted them because we could smell gas while our gas fireplace was in use. Leroy came out and informed us that our system was outdated and needed complete replacement, citing soot buildup on the valves, burner, striker, and logs as evidence of improper combustion—not to mention the gas smell. After spending a couple of thousand dollars on a new unit, we were assured everything was good to go.However, after only two uses of the fireplace, we noticed soot buildup again and promptly reached out to United Home Services. They dismissed our concerns, stating that this was merely normal wear. One representative confidently proclaimed, “I’ve been doing this for 25 years. I know what I’m talking about.”Yet, after just a few more uses, the gas smell returned and soot accumulation worsened. Frustrated, I made five calls to their office before finally reaching a supervisor, who assured me he would discuss the issue with the owner and call me back the next day. After persistent follow-ups, I finally received a response, only to be informed that I had a gas leak and that they couldn’t assist with it—I needed a master plumber.After expressing my frustration, they reluctantly agreed to send someone out again. The technician confirmed the gas leak and shockingly indicated that we needed a new unit anyway. When I asked why they hadn’t previously mentioned the gas leak—allowing us to operate a fireplace with an active leak—his response was that, regardless, we needed a new unit.It is important to note that we were not seeking a new unit; we simply wanted to resolve the source of the gas smell. Their oversight and failure to communicate critical safety concerns have left us feeling vulnerable and deceived.I am incredibly frustrated with the lack of professionalism and transparency from United Home Services. This experience has not only cost us time and money but also put my family at risk. I urge anyone considering their services to proceed with caution. Safety should always come first, and it’s clear that this company does not prioritize it.

After a not so happy experience with another chimney cleaning service, I wanted a second opinion. I called United Home Services. . I have never experienced chimney cleaning before, since I just purchased this home, so was not exactly sure what all is included and what needed to be done. Adam was very kind and detailed and answered all my questions. He explained what really needed to be done to make my fireplace safe. He did an amazing job cleaning my chimney and chimney cap. Gal and dan were on time , quick an knowledgeable for the chimney sweep and the replacement of the fire place panels and clean up, very respectful, good job guys I give them 5 stars for that service.👍Keep up the good work guys. 😣As for the company United home services chimney repairs I think I have been taken advantage of and overcharged for the repairs done on the chimney. The sub-contractor was very respectful, on time but only did what he was contracted to do by UHS. The materials and labor did not add up to what I was charged for a total of $4200 for approximately about 9 hours of total labor and about less than $500 materials and was not a complete rebuild, and only replace the sidings and one piece of 2x4 for the frame, fault to my part for not having a scope of work in writing, but I give them 4 stars for response because when I needed my chimney repaired after the neighbors cat fell in and I had to save the poor animal. Now I am in the hole $4200. Now for the warranty of 10 years if any leaks i will soon then find out if they own up to their commitment only time will tell. In the future I will do my research for a much better quote and a more detailed statement of work. Sorry, Mr. Mike, you are a nice and great guy and I am not a rich guy, but you are just to high at cost and whats done is done, and I will take part of the blame because for not shopping around and being pressured with time, and needed the job done right away and did not take the time to shop around, and like i said well just have to see how well the 10 year warranty agreement holds up. I know we are all striving to keep up with inflation and the economy to survive and fairness plays a big role.ThanksMike

I feel taken advantage of by United. They deemed my chimney unusable and quoted me a large amount to have most of the inside redone (redo mortar, new lining). I got a second opinion and they guy told me it was totally fine, just that it had an older style that doesn’t even need a heat shield. So happy I had someone else come out who had the experience to do minor updates and get my chimney working for a good price.

With no power and freezing temperature we called United Home Services to request a chimney sweep. We were nervous about using our gas fireplace since we have never used it in the past 16 years we have been living in Dallas. David came out during the freezing weather and horrible driving conditions. He was very kind and professional. He ensured that our fireplace was going to provide us a safe and warming home. Our tech was very kind and professional. Originally called for a basic cleaning but discovered mold spores in our furnace and about 50 years of buildup in our vents. Our tech finished below the time estimate and was very respectful of our need for consistent masking. 10/10 will definitely call them again for regular maintenance.

Im not completely satisfied I would say things were done ok. I think my job was a two man job one guy showed up he was courteous no problems with him, but I had dust everywhere flying out the vents Ill be dusting for two days Im sure. Dust all over my white bed I had to wash my sheets and comforter dust all over my living room floors and furniture in my kitchen. I think if thats something that happens they should cover up things. I know people that have had their systems cleaned and never heard that they had an issue with dust all over the place.
