I have had nothing but great experiences with Franks Automotive, and that includes both locations in San Marcos and New Braunfels. I have found the friendly staff always willing to take on new and/or various tasks related to my cars. I recently had carbon fiber trim installed on a Ferrari 488GTB. Franks did an outstanding, and professional job on the installation. A previous task involved a high value car, a 2024 Nissan GTR, where an exhaust was installed. This was another example of a job well done. Franks Automotive employees are car people who eagerly accept jobs that other shops normally refuse. I highly recommend this shop for automotive needs. My wifes bronco went in after hitting a deer they did great body work, some how after having my vehicle back for 3 days the battery dies??hmm brand new battery still under warranty so they swapped it out.. we had a new belt installed by Ford which tore three days layer due to franks repair being done improperly the hose for the radiator they installed was not tucked away properly so it tore my belt. Had them pick up my truck though they would fix what they messed up instead I got charge 357. And told it wasnt their fault. So I have it at ford who are fixing it properly, they didnt offer to refund my money for their mistake just put the blame on the belt being put on wrong smh.. do no go to franks they will just charge you and kick you out the door go anywhere else!!!!! I leave a bad review now they reach out to use as for the battery the tow guy checked the battery prior to loading the vehicle as per their policy it was good so when you all called and said it was a bad battery I let it slide cause I need my vehicle Im a special needs nurse for pediatric kids so I needed my vehicle but your service affected my ability to get to those special needs kids smh.. and you guys keep busting our ball I paid the 1000 deductible plus this 357.. keep the damn money dont contact use anymore and my one star rating stands!!!!!!!

I gave two stars because the first two vehicles we had repaired at Frank’s came back flawless. Our last experience did not play out so well. Eric Avalos (estimator at Frank’s) never provided status updates. We would have to call to get information. We took our vehicle in on 4/30/2024 and they had until 5/31/2024. When we picked up the vehicle at 4:52PM, which is near closing time, they were quick to usher us out and never did a walk around with us like they had with our other two repairs. When we got home we noticed that the quality of the repair work was awful. We called Franks the following a Monday and took the vehicle back on 6/4/2024 and showed them all of the issues we found. We waited until 6/16/2024 to get a rental car this time. Our insurance only covers 50 days of rental. After making this iteration of repairs, Eric notified us that they had road tested the vehicle this time and noticed something was off. They put the vehicle on the lift and found that the rear axle had a crack in it and it was causing a wheel alignment issue. So they ordered a new axle and replaced it. On 7/3/2024 when we picked the vehicle up we did a quick walk around and the visual repairs were satisfactory to us. The next morning as I was driving I noticed some wobble in the steering wheel. I went Home and told the wife it was time to get rid of this vehicle because it will never be the same. So we bought a new vehicle and sold ours to CarMax. No way was I going to let Franks attempt any additional repairs. We were also approaching the $25,000 max limit of the person that hit us, so our insurance would have had to pay. Unfortunately I am unable to upload the video of the steering wheel. Be careful where you take your car. They were fully ready for me to take possession of this well before the issues had been resolved.

Valerie was so incredibly helpful in working with me to determine the cost to repair my sons car. We were paying out of pocket and she wanted to make sure we understood the potential costs before bringing in the vehicle and having charges due. We wound up deciding not to repair the car and werent able to use their paid services, but the customer service I received means we will definitely go back to them!

I drive from out of town to get serviced with Frank’s. We were so impressed with George’s customer service when we lived in town we just keep coming back. Have never had any issues with service and am always satisfied with timing and courteous communication. They go above and beyond to explain issues, answer questions, and even pull up info and parts for visuals. We have 3 vehicles serviced at Franks and recently had struts , sway bar, and transmission service. Getting your vehicle serviced can be a hassle but never for us at Franks!

Thank you for that, and it is much appreciated.Im removing my original comment because my issue was with the mechanic having an entitled attitude about me questioning the charges for the services done to my vehicle. The guy was rude and has no idea what actual customer service really is. On a side note, the tow truck driver/ company that they use is very nice and helpful.

Been to Frank’s Automotive a few times here in New Braunfels and it has been a great experience each time. My car unfortunately had a Freon leak and Jorge and the team was able to me scheduled the next business day & get my cars AC back and running. Their team is always very respectful and helpful

Took my 2016 Chevy Traverse in with front end damage from hitting a deer, which was heartbreaking on its own. They did such an amazing job. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. It looks brand new. They even vacuumed it out inside. Very professional and they didn’t charge an arm and a leg.I highly recommend Franks Automotive.I’ve been in many automotive repair shops and I have to say this is one of the cleanest shops I’ve ever seen! Spotless!!!

Charged me 300$ for a misdiagnosis. They said the anti theft mode had to be reset and that was the reason why my truck was not starting. A week later same issue occurred I had to pay for a tow to take it back they charged me an additional 150$ to “diagnose” it again. Come to find out my fuel cut off switch was bad. They tried to charge me 600$ to replace. I believe this was the issue to begin with and they missed it but they insist that the anti theft was activated. I bought parts(wiring pigtails 14$ cutoff switch 60$) and replaced myself in less than an hour. So all together I lost 450$ for a diagnostics but save 600$ by replacing myself. I feel robbed! 450$ and I had to replace myself, and apparently the customers never right and that part melted in a week. They think people don’t know about vehicles at this location very insulting. Don’t do business here!

Edgar and his team did a great job handling my insurance claim. This is the second time Ive used them and I havent had any complaints. The work they did was cheaper than what they quoted, and they even gave me a lifetime warranty on the paint and work. I also like how close they are to enterprise rental car. It all worked out great.

Last year Franks Automotive was able to fix my Chevy Equinox after ValMark Chevy told me I needed a new engine! It was something completely different that ValMark could not identify correctly. So I knew I would stick with them for any future needs. I went in on Monday with my RAV4 that obviously had gotten damaged at a car wash. They had their guys take a quick look at and they were able to get the piece that was bent back in place in less than 10 mins. They said no charge! I will never go anywhere else for my car repairs. They are honest and thorough! Twice now theyve bailed me out of less than good situations. Try them out and you will see how great they are!

First pictures are of the work Franks did. Second set are from the redo it had to undergo immediately here in the Houston area at a different shop after picking up the vehicle.I immediately commented on the horrible match after I drove 2+ hours out to pick it up. We tried three times. Thats the best we could do. Verbatim. Then they said its an older car and the paint faded making it impossible to match. Let me ask you all a question about the way fading works... does it make factory paint DARKER?Not only do they do garbage work and willfully lie to customers in order to convince them its acceptable. They cant even lie well. Stay away.

I called to get work done on my truck and talked to George, he was very knowledgeable about asking the right question of what The problem was with the truck it needed the front end replaced and starter replaced and they had it done in two days. I have my truck back and very happy with it.

Came in to get a state inspection done as well as have their collision department look at a scratch I had on the vehicle. State inspection was done in a timely manner. When their collision department came out to inspect the scratch, they looked at it. Said hold on a moment and returned with a rag and some form of product and simply wiped the scratch away. Prior to having them look at it, I had tried every imaginable thing to get rid of it and thought I would have to have it repainted. They didn’t charge me anything. Great service all around and will be returning for future vehicle needs.

I bring my car here often and are always satisfied with the customer service and work they do. I had a slight (very minor) issue after the last set of repairs I had done and brought my car in to have it looked at. Not only did the shop work with my schedule, but they were very accommodating when I was not able to make my original appointment time. Jason quickly diagnosed the issue and had it fixed within 15 minutes. Ill be back for future repairs!

As a new resident here, I initially brought my vehicle here just for an oil change. They informed me I have a head gasket leak and needed a new timing cover. This was almost $2,000. I asked if this might possibly be covered by warranty and they reassured me that warranties wouldnt cover this kind of maintenence, its wear and tear. I decided to contact Kia anyways to ask them if its covered and wouldnt you know...it was. Funny thing when I brought it into the dealership they said there was a little oil on the side but it didnt need to be replaced. So, I saved myself $2,000 by contacting the dealership and having Franks Automotive avoid replacing something that didnt need to be replaced. Lack of integrity for sure. I would not get future services done here nor recommend this place to anyone.

Frank’s automotive was outstanding they are a little pricey, but for good reason you you get what you pay for. The guy that worked on My Car Robert was absolutely amazing if he saw things along the way he fixed them I had about 12 different things being done to My Car that needed to be done and he found more things that needed to be done and just went ahead and fixed them for me and George Smith perfect guy for dealing with people. He is great with customer relations. He made me feel very good that My Car was in good hands I just felt so wonderful the whole time My Car was in their care and I think so much. I love you guys. Took my brand new two week old truck in after being rear ended. Their customer service is great. The actual work not so much. Left way to much orange peel in the paint. They didnt align the bumper or the bed correctly. Took it back to have it fixed. They only sanded the tailgate, left the orange peel on the bumper. They didnt even align the bumper or bed. Sent it back to me completely covered in sanded paint, finger prints all over the inside of my truck to match the paint color of course. Also had my badges and emblems replaced with custom ones while it was in their care and they scratched the hell out of my fenders in the process.

I’ve been taking my car to Frank’s because I always felt the vibes of honesty. In this age of dishonest and underhanded tricks of unscrupulous mechanics and shops, I am very conscious of tricks used by shady shops as I was the victim of one attempt in a shop in San Antonio by a very well known brand, several years ago. With Frank’s, I’m confident that they’re on the current with reasonable prices and an additional bonus if you have AAA membership. Both George and Jason were great, and Jason’s adjusted the price in my favor when I pointed out a discrepancy.

The work that was done on my wife’s Rogue was completed when Jason said it would be. The only issue I had was that the pricing was very high for the parts and labor. And I was never told what warranty came with the parts and labor.Plus it would have been nice if my Rogue would have been cleaned and washed before we picked it up .Fyi, Nissan washes and cleans your vehicle after they finish servicing it.

They did do a good job on my body work. But…when I picked up my truck my check engine light was on. Brought it to their attention which they said there were multiple codes and they weren’t responsible for any of the 3. After getting 3 different opinions, they were responsible for 2 of them. Very disappointed as I know Frank and would expect more from his business.3/19/2024Eric has been very responsive to my concerns and getting things fixed properly.

Frank’s Automotive & Collison here in town deserves the biggest shout out and more than a 5 star review!!Long story short after being rear ending back in September a body shop I’ve been working with has continually told me the lift gate needed was so far on back order there was no way to get one until after the first of this year and no one had one in stock anywhere. It was a local shop we’ve used forever so loyalties and trust made me hang on wayyyyy longer.This past Thursday I called Frank’s sent over the original estimate I received and with in 10 minutes they called me back, found the part needed and had me scheduled for Friday morning. To make things even better, when I brought my vehicle in they looked at it and IT WAS AN EASY IN SHOP FIX. Didn’t even need the stinkin’ lift gate that I’ve waited months for. They had my car as good as new ready for pick up by Wednesday and did an amazing job. The entire experience with them was seamless and easy. They’ll be our new go to for sure!

I ran over a pipe in the road and was leaking fuel. I tow the car to Christian Brothers in NBTX and they give me a $2,750 bill with the bulk of the cost on parts. I ask them if I buy OEM if they will do the work, they decline. They make me tow the car elsewhere. I go to GMs official website and find the parts for a third of the price and reach out to Franks Auto Body. Jason calls me the next day, cheaper labor than the quote I got from CBs and are ready to do the work ASAP. Ive driven the vehicle for over a month now, no issues, just perfect. I spoke with the mechanic who did the work and he was excellent helping me understand the repair process. I would recommend this company to anyone, just an absolute great experience and not feeling like I was taken advantage of in a difficult time.

Great place if you want to be ripped off. Got my car diagnosed there and of course I get a whole laundry list of things I “need” done. I really only needed one of the things done and they wanted to charge me 1,000 for it. The rest of it was unnecessary and/or just maintenance work, and altogether they wanted to charge me 4,000. Got what i actually needed done for 150$ elsewhere, I might be a blonde girl but I wasn’t born yesterday, do better.

Even though they were not able to perform our repair, by no fault of theirs, the technician who assisted me was very courteous ,professional, and knowledgeable. Vital information was bestowed upon us that helped us move forward and eventually get taken care of. Kudos to Franks! Very knowledgeable mechanic.I dropped my car off at 10am and it picked it up at 5:30pm.He replaced the radiator, water pump, and thermostat.The Dodge dealership couldnt even look at it for 2 weeks.

I brought my truck for a service, it was then the mechanics discovered the problem, the fuel tank emission pressure line on top of the gas tank was cracked, they replaced the cracked line, I took their advice since the tank was out, replaced the fuel pump, replaced the pressure sensors, wow the truck is running great !I highly recommend the full service team at Franks !Well done and thanks for the great serviceDoug MorganNew Braunfels Texas

Okay so this will be lengthy but hey I’ve got time to write this out and I think this will save some people from making the same mistake I almost did. This is all from my own personal experience with the shop and these are the feelings I’m left with.To start, when I took my car in I had close to no mechanic experience whatsoever. I have been around cars but never done my own work on them. Now I have a job at a mechanic shop and have been working there for over a year. Not long enough to ID every piece of a motor BUT long enough to complete most of the basic maintenance required for cars.That being said when I called ahead to Frank’s to see if I could get my brakes done - Rotors and pads which is a service I’ve done now several times - I was told I had to bring my car in before they could quote me on the job. I thought it was odd but obliged and dropped it off. Once I got back home about 20min pass and I get a call. They called to tell me I needed pads, rotors and my fluid was looking green and needed a brake flush which I’ve also done now several times.Stopping there I can tell you that the fluid was not green, a hue of yellow but definitely not green. Seen hundreds of cars now, old and new. Green brake fluid is reserved for cars being driven hard constantly. Either work trucks from ‘02 or Door Dash Corolla cruisers, either way not my car.The quote they gave me for all 3 services and labor was a STAGGERING $2500. My ears and wallet were not ready for a 4 digit number to leave the phone speaker. Decided to lie through my teeth immediately and tell them I’m a broke college student who couldn’t afford to take the hit. Left to pick my car up and drove straight to the O’Reilly Auto Parts next door.The kind worker behind the counter showed me how much I was paying for the parts but that’s not all. He also told me that O’Reilly’s is the place Frank’s called to order parts for my car. He had them pulled up already and showed me the price difference between what I was paying and what Frank’s was paying. Not only were my rotors much cheaper for Frank’s but the total was closer to ~$300 (been some time so I can’t exactly remember). Before I left he said “I hardly pick up the phone for that shop anymore because it’s so bad”.Now I work at a dealership and I can confidently say Frank’s is nothing short of “Highway Robbery”. Even the little nugget of a parts truck always has someone incompetent behind the wheel who either can’t signal or color in the lines.I feel like the only people keeping them in business couldn’t care less about money to burn. I mean hey they might do good work but I’m never finding out. If money IS an object to you - and one you need - they are the wrong people to go to. That blue G-Wagon out front is a sign: “Only for the RICH and TASTELESS!” Anyway I hope this helps and got a laugh especially at the expense of that shop.Deuces ✌🏼

A couple of months ago we took our Ford F350 truck to Franks for a brake problem and they did a great job at a fair price for the replacement of the hydro booster. On July 18 our truck started intermittently refusing the shift out of 3rd gear. We did have a check engine light throwing a code about the brake light switch. The next day the issue continued so we took it to Franks on July 20. We met with George, the service advisor, told him we would be traveling to Arizona, and to call us and we could authorize repairs. A week later on July 26 we still had not heard anything. We have GPS on our vehicles and logged into the app to see that the truck had not moved from the shop since we left it almost a week earlier. We called George and asked the status of our vehicle. He said the mechanic drove it for an hour and it didnt misbehave. He said he drove it and found the same. The mechanic told him it was a little low on transmission fluid. We were shocked, because we knew our truck had never moved. When confronted with this fact, George backpaddled saying that maybe he had our truck confused with another truck. We called him out for lying about even driving our vehicle. He became very nervous and told us that he would take it to lunch that day and see if it had shifting problems and then get with the mechanic. We were so upset and disappointed that we had been lied to. We watched the GPS and he did drive it and about 2 hours later called to tell us it did exactly what we told him it was doing. He said he would have the mechanic drive it and get an estimate together. We continued to monitor the GPS and saw that the truck was driven again. The next phone call we get was to tell us that we had a bad brake light switch. Additionally we were told that we had a bad shift solenoid. Then we were told we really should replace the entire valve body but really the best course of action would be a brand new transmission and torque converter at a cost of almost $12,000! I was furious! How did we go from nothing is wrong with your truck to a whole new transmission and $12k in repairs??? I told my husband I did not want that shop touching our truck. I was done! We received estimates for all four repairs and informed George that upon returning from Arizona we would pick up our truck and go elsewhere for further diagnosis. We trusted Franks based on two previous repairs to take care of us and our vehicle with trust and integrity and the result was being lied to and an attempt to take $12,000 of our hard earned money. I was feeling so defeated. We returned, picked up our truck and took it to Garlands Transmission and told them what was happening. They were upfront about being very busy and told us it would be 2 days before they could diagnose the issue. We mentioned nothing about the previous encounter at Franks. On Wednesday we got a call (yes we continued to monitor our GPS and saw that they took it out for a drive that morning) and they said that our brake light switch and wiring harness was bad and they could not diagnose any further issues without resolving that first. It turns out that when that part goes bad, one of the primary issues is shifting problems! We authorized the work and they said they would call us the next day. They called and explained that the repair had solved our shifting issue and we could pick up our truck. We have been driving it for the weekend and put over 100 miles on it and the transmission has never shifted better. Henry Ford said it best: Integrity means doing it right when no one is looking. Customers are your gold, they are the reason you exist. Treat them with integrity, respect and compassion. Be the solution to their problem. I am horrified at the thought of someone taking their vehicle to Franks and not knowing any better, falling for what was done to us. Long story short, Franks could have fixed the real problem, made money from us and kept our business, but chose this path instead. We will not be back.

Went in for computer reset from limp mode. Then the phone call. Your transmission module is bad. This was February. I was told that the parts would not be available till July. 5-6 months!!! I was told the truck could stay there. Then in April I get another call. You need to move your truck today - Corporate said it cannot stay. I had a wrecker service get it that day and bring it back to the house. Battery dead. I charge it and notice wiring cables hanging and not connected. I call Franks and get the service manager. Ask him what they did and that the truck will not start. His response Its 4:30 - What do you want me to do? My reply - It was running when it went in - now its not and its blocking my other car. His reply - Its 4:30 - What do you want me to do? Ill check with someone tomorrow. Its been three weeks and I still havent heard anything. We had to drag the truck out of the way.This not the first time I had this kind of treatment. Will not ever go back.

I had just moved here from another state. My vehicle didnt have a bracket to install the front license plate. I was afraid to try to install the bracket that I picked up at an auto parts store. I didnt want to cause damage to the bumper cover. The Nissan dealership was going to charge me almost $120 for a bracket and to install it! I am on disability and definitely couldnt afford that. After calling several other mechanics and body shops, I stopped in to Franks without an appointment. I explained the situation, and the gentleman in the office came out and looked at the bracket that I had bought, took the car back to the bay and in less than 15 minutes he brought the car back with the bracket and both licence plates put on at no charge! My car broke down on the road… No power at all.I coasted into the parking lot …panicked! It is so upsetting when there are car problems as I don’t know a thing about cars. I walked in still so upset as I felt helpless. They got me right in to look to see what it might have been. Even more the young man that was helping me, calmed me down. He showed me a breathing technique that really helped … who does that??? 😊 and reminded me, I could have been on the freeway when it happened. He was so right!!! So….. NEVER take your vehicle to Franks!! I am VERY upset. My husband got into an accident in my vehicle and it has been a nightmare dealing with insurance. That is not Franks automotives fault, i know that. My vehicle was fine before the accident. I am very good about maintaining my vehicle, especially since it is the vehicle, I drive my children in every day. Immediately after the accident the vehicle was making a loud grinding noise obviously from the accident. We contacted insurance multiple times to let them know it was making a noise and we were worried about it, so we needed to get it to a shop quick. It was sent to get repaired and when I received it back the noise is still there. My husband is a mechanic, so he knows what its from. He tried to discuss this with them, even showed them. They said it WAS from the accident and they would submit it to the insurance. Insurance denied it but they spoke with Franks who told THEM it was NOT from the accident. My vehicle has not been repaired from the accident. This was not like this before the accident! The insurance part of things is not Franks fault what is their fault is the customer service. They will not listen to us that this was from the accident!! It was not like this before!! I would appreciate if they would voice that to the insurance so we can get it squared away. I am now worried about driving my kids to school and something happening because it was not fixed fully. I am so extremely frustrated because we are now stuck with this burden that was not caused by us and all Franks automotive had to do was listen to us as the customer and voice that to insurance.

When I came in to have my vehicle serviced he completely ignored me when I first spoke to him until it was apparent that no one else was going to help me. Then when I got my estimate I see that I am being charged $63 per gallon for coolant, when I called to ask about it I was told the wrong price was put in and that it was actually $38/gal. I got my front brakes and rotors replaced, I continued to have squeaking noises afterwards. There was some complication figuring out what was causing the noises, come to find out it was my rear brakes. George contacted me and replaced my rear pads at no additional cost. My first experience using Franks was a positive one, which is why I decided to bring my vehicle back in following an accident last year. I was rear ended resulting in significant damage to trunk and rear panel. The interior of the trunk was exposed after the impact. The car was in the shop for just under a month undergoing numerous repairs. Now, since the accident, I have had to replace 6 tires and discovered multiple serious issues following service from Franks. After requesting the service repair record, my current auto professional noticed an alignment had not been performed following the rear impact collision, which was likely the cause of the current issues. I have reached out questioning why an alignment was not done following a rear end collision, but was ultimately informed it was my neglect by not having an annual routine alignment and per their assessment tools, one was not necessary. The car is unsafe to drive and requiring thousands to repair. If you decide to take your vehicle to Franks after A collision, be diligent in requesting that complete and accurate repairs have been performed before you leave.

Took my 2019 Chevy Colorado into Frank’s Automotive after an accident to repair my front bumper and hood. Repairs were completed to perfection and the vehicle was returned to a like new condition.Not only did they repair the damages in a timely manner, they detailed the inside, outside, wheels and tires of my vehicle. It was rather dirty coming in, so it was really nice to have a clean vehicle walking away.Additionally, Frank’s was able to work with the aftermarket lighting/wiring set up in my bumper to ensure that my vehicles parts were configured the way that they were set up when dropped off.Lastly, Frank’s did a full walk around of my vehicle and even saw that one of my tail lights had gone out which they went ahead and took care of before I drove off.Frank’s took the extra time to make sure everything was done right! Franks did body work repair on my Honda Ridgeline where someone had dented the rear right quarter panel. They did an excellent job and actually finished one day earlier than stated. The work performed was very good and their office staff were extremely helpful and friendly especially Mary.On a separate note, about two months later, someone had dented in the rear plastic bumper of my 2016 Honda Civic without leaving a note. Of course this depressed me since my deductible to get it fixed was $250 and I went to two other body repair shops and the quotes to fix the dent were between $350 to just pull out the bump or $850 to completely fix it. My last and third stop was to Franks and I showed Mary Clayton where the damage was and asked her how much they would charge me to pull out the dent which was in the plastic part of the bumper. She took my car around the back to get it looked at and 15 minutes later came back having totally fixed the dented plastic bumper FOR FREE. I couldnt believe it and was so happy. Thank you Mary and Franks Automotive & Collision for making my day!I have since recommended them to my State Farm Insurance office (Bill Mehr) and neighbors and told them about my story above. I am so happy to have found this service. I drove my car through a not so tiny puddle and flooded my engine, filters and oil thing. I had my car towed there to have it repaired. When I tell you, I did some damage to this car. However, everyone was so kind and professional and made sure to communicate with me everything that needed to be done and if they needed a little more time. Update: I did some research about ADAS calibration and Greg was right in terms of safety...I feel like this whole ordeal could have been avoided if Mary had informed me PRIOR to driving one and half hours to pick up my car...that the recalibration would have to wait until tomorrow bc for whatever reason they were not able to do it yesterday. I reached out twice yesterday bc I had received no new updates on the status of my vehicle and one of the times I called was right BEFORE I drove there. Her exact words were if our system was working youd have your car by now. Maybe she needs training in customer service skills...idk....but I would mark this as one of the worst experiences Ive had so far pertaining to my vehicle.Think twice about turning in your vehicle to this shop. If I could I would give a zero star. Im sure the body repair is okay but I wouldnt know bc they refused to release my vehicle to me. Is that even legal? Even after offering to write out and sign a statement stating I would not hold them liable in case of an accident he (Greg) still refused to return my vehicle even though the repairs that brought it in were completed. Mary Clayton was also not very helpful as I was already escalated by our conversation on the phone when I called to check if my vehicle would be ready today. Your customer service skills are lacking. Their convenient text messages on the status of the vehicle repair are not worth anything. Im supposed to be grateful that they worked on my vehicle judging by the way our conversation went with Mary & Greg bc according to them they are booked out until April...Ive already been waiting for months to have this repair done and bc their equipment failed to work (yes, their equipment) and THEN my cars radar refused to communicate with their equipment...how convenient....Im not leaving with my vehicle and will have to waste another 2 hours of my life driving all the way the hell out here. And yes, Mary, our computer systems do go down at work. However, we also have back up procedures if such an event does occur.I should have just used my insurance and taken it to Caliber Collision.

I was conned out of 900$ to fix my powersteering, and after almost paying a grand and having my car in the shop for two days, they left a bolt off of one of the belts.that’s fine and all, mistakes happen. But, I took my car after it was “repaired” and told them that I could not turn and that there was a loud scraping sound.They turned me away and said it was my bumper.After weeks of headache and going back and forth with the owner, they repaired what they were originally supposed to fix and offered me a $50 oil change.My family and I have been going here for years and will no longer continue business with them due to the fact that I was turned away, put in danger and then basically felt like a slap in the face to offer the oil change after paying almost a grand to get my power steering hose replaced.Very unsatisfactory work and customer service!

Brought the car in for service. Fixed problem quickly. In the process lost my fob and key. They paid to have it replaced and reprogrammed. And took responsibility. However I did not notice until 4 days later when I opened my hood that they had not put my engine manifold cover back on. I immediately notified them and provided a photo. They located the cover so I had to make a trip back in for them to replace. They had lost the screw so I will now need to replace that. Needless to say I will not be having them provide any further service. Because of their poor service I had to spend my time and gas to get the car back to the way it was.

First off all 4 of my vehicles always go to Franks. But this time they totally surprised me. Asked them to change oil&filter and give car a lookout as we are going on 2k mile trip. They did. And they found a cracked radiator! You know this would have given away out in the middle of nowhere! They had to order from out of town but they had it hear next morning and our car was ready by 1pm! Later when we got home I was going to replace one of the windshield washers but found they also fixed that and never mentioned it to me nor did they bill me! How many places nowadays will do that!

I highly recommend Franks Automotive! On a Saturday evening I was traveling through Texas on the I10 from Arizona in our full size Chevy van when it lost power and died. All symptoms pointed to us having to buy a new alternator. Franks AAA tow truck took the van away, and we stayed in a motel that was right off the exit. Since no one, even Franks, works on a Saturday night or Sunday, by Monday morning we were a day late on our trip. I called in to Franks the first thing in the morning and explained my situation. They got the van in right away and fixed a cable that had broken off the back of the alternator. They sent a very nice driver out to get us (who wanted to help with our suitcases) and we were on our way before noon! They could have easily said I needed a new alternator and charged us hundreds of dollars, and I would have been none the wiser. But they didnt. They were fair and attentive to a customer who they knew might never return. Very professional. I wish they were in Arizona!

Went in to get ac repaired. I was told that I had to pay $135 for a diagnostic. After that I was told it was going to cost me wdiagnostic $416. And they didnt even know where the leak was. They were going put in dye and once the freon ran out I would have to bring it back. I took it to Firestone and they found the leak and charged me $177.

These folks seem like the real deal. Called right when they opened and they told me to head on in. They were able to look at it same day which I desperately needed. Unfortunately, my engine was done for but they were informative and communicative through the process. Quoted me 600 for some work, then discovered more ominous issues before proceeding beyond an oil change and engine diagnostic so the charges were manageable (though nobody likes paying 200 bucks for no results, the alternatice was much worse). Also informed me of a few options since Im now in the market for another vehicle. Friendly service is always appreciated.

Hello all. So glad all of you had a five star experience with Franks. Unfortunately I did not. My Eclipse Cross was taken in about 2 months ago due to a deer hit. Franks came recommended by a co-worker of mine. And to my surprise Franks also has a contract with Progressive, my auto insurance, which in hindsight was not a good thing for me. After being told 3-5 different finish dates my vehicle was finally done. The whole front end had to be completely re-done. And when I picked it up it looked beautiful. The body work was awesome. You would have never known it had been in an accident. I forgot to mention my vehicle was band new. I only had it 3 weeks and bought I with 27 miles on it. I digress... beautiful body work. I signed, paid my deductible and was on the road again. Thats where my problem started. The vehicle was way off alignment and the back tires would skid when I took off from a stop. This is a four wheel drive so that should not happen. I contacted my insurance and Franks. I was asked to bring the vehicle back. I used my better judgement and did not. Instead I took it to another body shop that did a full inspection and determined my vehicles A frame was bent thus a total loss. A week later I took it to a dealership to trade it in and they also confirmed my vehicle should have been totaled out. I understand that it is not up to the body shop to make the determination to total out a vehicle but a knowledgeable body shop would know if the frame is bent and a shop with integrity and honesty should have stood up for what was right and refused to fix a vehicle that was a total loss instead of cowardly accepting a $14,000+ check just because they have a contract with the insurance company leaving a single mother to drive her children around in a vehicle that is not fit to drive. So please beware of Franks. I am know left with a vehicle with frame damage, that is unsafe to drive and am constantly having to reattach my bumper, I was told that issue was attributed to the frame being bent and the parts not aittsit right, that Im stuck with for the entire term of my loan. FYI...they dont deserve one star but have to because putting no stars would not allow me to post.

Went in for a simple estimate on two tires and a battery for a 2003 beetle, things I know for sure take very short intervals of time to look up and was told by the salesman whom I spoke to that he was too busy with other tickets. He then proceeded to write down my number and said hed call me within the hour for the part estimates. Never received a phone call. The icing on the cake is that my own family has been a high ranking team member of Franks, of which meant little as I received horrible customer service. Guess having to do your job in a fast paced environment isnt something they excel at here.

I wanted to like this place because it’s literally walking distance from the house, but I will not be returning.My car was making a rattling noise upon starting and I wanted to get the issue checked out. I was told there would be a $66.00 diagnostic fee to figure out the issue. When it came time to pay I was told the mechanic had to spend a little longer with the car so the cost would be $110.00. I’m not sure why I wasn’t told about this additional charge at any point or asked if the additional charge would be okay. Next, I was told that the issue with my car was the timing chain and would be almost a $3,000.00 fix. I wanted a second opinion so I took my car to two other mechanics who both said that the issue was not a timing chain issue but rather a different minor problem.On a positive note the guy at the front desk was very friendly.

They are not timely with their repairs. I have had to pick up my car almost five times to get to work. That is, picking up my unrepaired car. Five. Times. Not only will the end result of this repair be expensive, but the money spent on Uber has piled up considerably. Many people dont have consecutive days where their car can be left in the shop. If you are one of those people, dont come here. Ive gotten torn apart by my supervisors because Franks couldnt diagnose and/or repair my vehicle in a timely manner. Do some repairs take more time than others? Absolutely. However, for a car that hasnt been totaled, and just needed another part, this experience has been BEYOND frustrating. Oh, and before this specific instance, I took my car here for the same problem that they claimed to fix, but found not even three days later that NOTHING changed. My mistake for coming back here. Only reason I did was because of their warranty. They upheld their warranty agreement so Im grateful for that at least.UPDATE:5 minutes after receiving my repaired vehicle, the EXACT SAME PROBLEM happend 3 TIMES while on I-35 in the span of 25 minutes. Worst Customer Service Ever. If your Insurance company recommends using this body shop for repairs run the other way as fast as you can. They are slow and will lie to cover their tracks. I made the mistake of listening to the advise of the insurance adjuster of the person that hit me and took my SUV here to be repaired. I was quoted that the job would only take 5 days to complete. I did not get a call back from the Salesman until after the business closed on the 5th day (a Friday) that the job hadnt been completed and that they would require an additional day for the paint to dry (all weekend) but was assured that the SUV would be done by COB on Monday. I get a call Monday afternoon saying my vehicle would be done later that day, then 30 minutes later I get a call saying the buffer messed up the paint job and it would be another day. The same thing happens the next day but this time the manager calls to tell me that there was a problem with the paint drying, they tried to do the job the same way as the previous day and got the same result. Surprise Surprise. Finally on Wednesday they complete the work, telling my wife to be there to pick up the car at 5pm only to keep her there till past 630. All the while I had to make all the contact with this shop to check on the progress of my vehicle. I got the run around every time I spoke to the Salesman, could never give a straight answer as to when my vehicle would be back. During one conversation with the Salesman, while questioning the delays of the repair, he told me that he doesnt call me at my work and tell me how to do my job. He did not care about our needs, and since the Insurance Company was footing the bill, he had no repercussions to make things right for the customer. I will never do business with this company again. I hope this helps whomever reads this.

Very happy with last repair (insurance wreck job) my wife just got into an accident in a separate vehicle. The wife had it towed to another shop, found out Franks was preferred with our insurance and called them. Franks had the vehicle transferred to them for us and then being understanding allowed us to have the paperwork emailed to us and sent back to begin work so that we didnt have to come all the way down. Had cooling problems, thought it might be a bad radiator. They checked and found it was the radiator cap gone bad. Also found top and bottom original hoses were needing replacement. Car is 12 years old. They did the work in less than four hours in very busy shop. They also noted the rear shocks were weak. Shocks will be another day after the new year. Fast friendly service. Clean waiting area, clean restrooms. I would go back to them for future service. Oh, BTW they are a AAA certified shop. Every little discount helps.

I found Frank’s out of sheer luck when I was driving on I-35 and a rock or some other debris hit the undercarriage of my car and started making some scary noises.Luckily it was just a damaged piece of plastic near the rear wheel. I appreciated that they took me as a walk-in, and got to it quickly. They found the problem and bolted the loose piece back on. I would recommend them. Thanks!

BLOWN AWAY! wow - as a female who has no idea how cars work, taking my car to the mechanic is something I will procrastinate - until something breaks!Some car thingy fell off my car and I needed to go to the nearest mechanic available, since I was worried of the expense of having to Uber it to and fro. I called Franks to see if they could help. Aaron was super friendly and invited me to drop my car off as soon as convenient and Mikey would bring me home. I was so delighted that I could wait at home instead of wasting hours at the shop, PLUS I didnt have to worry about Uber!I was fearful the bill (there was obvious damage to the undercarriage of my car) might put me into shock. Aaron kindly told me not to worry and that he understood that investing in a 17 year old car they would do the best they could to make it safe and run again. After he picked me up (within minutes of my call) to bring me to my car he had everything already taken care of for me for just $100!!Honestly, Ive never had such great customer service at a mechanics (and I used to own a hotel, so know the value it can bring to a business.) Car wouldn’t start. 3 Trips and $5000 later, worst auto shop ever. They up-sale all there parts and mechanic, 1 hour cost outrageous. I do not recommend this place at all. The only reason. They get a one star is because there was nothing less. They keep guessing at everything to try to diagnose something while charging you out the rest.

The shop manager Mr. George Smith is an awesome leader and experienced manager who gets the things done no matter what. The best and most honest automotive shop in town. Had them fix the bumper on my 2020 silverado and they cant seem to install it straight. I have brought it back once already, but its still crooked and exhaust tips arent on straight. The trailer hitch is crooked as well. I used my insurance to get it fixed so im not sure what the deal is with not doing the job correctly. The front office has been nice, but since I work out of town everytime I have brought it in I lose my truck for a week. Truck has less than 8k miles and is flawless other than the area they fixed

Went in for a standard oil change and I mentioned I heard a thumping sound coming from the front left tire as well and could they check into it. They discovered some lug nuts were coming loose, they torqued all lug nuts on all four tires for no extra charge. I took my vehicle there to get the front brakes looked at because when I would be driving down the highway and had to come to a quick stop, the vehicle would vibrate. . A few hours later their service advisor calls me and tells me that they test drove the vehicle and didnt feel the vibration and that I had to pay them $40+ for the labor. So I paid them, picked up my vehicle, take it on the highway and sure enough, traffic came to a quick stop and guess what happened, the vehicle started vibrating. This was on a Saturday. The next Monday I went back to the shop this time to get my struts looked at, but before I left it I mentioned to the service advisor how frustrated I was that I paid them for the labor and that my vehicle was still vibrating when I come to a quick stop.So later on, I get a call from their service advisor and he tells me that they looked at my struts in the front and shocks in the rear and that he recommends that I replace all four, and that the cost would be over $1000. I said Thats ridiculous and asked how much it would be to just do the front, since that was the reason I took it to the shop in the first place. He stated that it would be over $800.. I said that was still crazy. He said let me see what I can do and I will get back with you. Well after a few hours I stop by the shop and he tells me the best price he could do the struts for was around $550 and that would be the same top brand struts that he quoted me over $800. I asked how can you go from over $800 down to $550 using the same struts he said they found a different vendor. I think what he meant to say was that they reduced their mark up on the parts. Keep in mind that a local auto parts store sells these struts for just over $100 a piece. So needless to say I did not let them work on my vehicle and will never take my vehicle to them again.So to all of you people who take your vehicle into the shop and pay what they say. Be careful.

TWICE! I have got nothing but a rushed job (from the collision side) although it took over a month to fix my car each time. Today I picked up my car and was notified there’s a “clunking” noise when driven because they left my right rear strut BROKEN! I asked why they didn’t fix it and THEY TOLD ME it wasn’t part of my accident. Mind you they replaced my right front wheel cause I bent it when I hit a CONCRETE island! I drive a 2018, my car should not have a broken strut nor was the strut broke before my accident. My insurance has already agreed to fix it as well but I am definitely choosing a different shop. (The “Karen” working the front tried telling me a concrete island couldn’t have caused my strut to break. But according to Google a concrete barrier is often the cause of a broken strut!)Not only that issue there is over spray all over the right side of my car!

If you like to get ripped off, this is the place for you. I took my van there to get the brakes bleed and my air conditioner recharged and they quoted me $200. Came back and they said they had to rebuild my entire brakes system which was a lye because my husband replaced all four rotors and brakes, as he has always done in all our cars for years, and when I got my car back, it still had all the same rotors and brakes my husband put on. They said they had to replaced the two fans up front stating that my air conditioner did not work because the fans were not working which was another lye because my husband just replaced the fans 6 months before and again when I picked up my car, it still had the same fans my husband put in. Plus my air conditioner worked fine before I brought it in, I just wanted the air conditioner frion check and recharged if necessary. I told them they were a bunch of crooks and liers and they told me I had to pay $986 or I could not have my car back. The positive reviews on this site are from a review ap companies purchase.

Great customer service! I had (stupidly) overcharged my A/C while on vacation in San Antonio which caused it to blow hot air, in the middle of July! With a pregnant wife and 5 year old daughter (who is spoiled and does not understand A/C used to be rolling down the window) it was very unpleasent for all of us. I called several places and they all told me I had to leave the car at the shop all day, meanwhile hotel checkout is at 11am and a rental car will cost me $80-100 for one day after taxes and fees. I came in at 9am and the had me out the door by 9:45am. Really appreciate them doing this so quickly and saving me the cost of a rental and the much more costly loss of precious time with my family while vacationing in San Antonio.

So I am crossing my fingers, hoping the problem doesnt come back, but it seems right now, a couple days after the repair, that they saved me a few thousand dollars.My truck was jerking and I thought it was the transmission. They spent a lot of time on diagnosing the problem which cost me but then the repair was only a few hundred more, replacing the spark plugs to fix a partial misfire that led to the truck going into limp mode instead of thousands for the transmission. So, as long as it doesnt come back, I am very happy.

In a word: terrible. I took my Ford truck in because the ABS brake light was coming on and the pedal was getting soft. I told the service guy that checked it in (Billy) that this is a common problem with these trucks when the wheel hub is going out. I had to leave for the airport on an extended work trip or I would have handled it myself. Well, over a week later they were still swapping parts out. Every time I called they swore that the next part was fixing the issue. I finally got fed up with their antics and told them to put it back to the original state (they had replaced the Master Brake Cylinder, ABS control module, and were waiting on yet another expensive ABS related hydraulic controller). When I picked it up they didnt even put the wiring harness back together where they had removed it for troubleshooting the problem. Oh, and they never checked the wheel hubs either. Low and behold...guess what the problem was? Yup, drivers side front wheel hub. They had run my bill up over $750 before I told them to undo everything they had done. It still ran me nearly $400 in labor which I still think is BS.

This review is only about the collision center. I worked with Ramone and found him to be a flat out liar. He would lie right to my face and seemed set on being argumentative at every step. Day 1 when I dropped off my vehicle it began. I knew I should have just got in the car and left. What a mistake. The day the car was supposed to be ready I did not even receive a phone call. When it was ready I went to pick it up only to find that the work was incomplete. 2 days later I picked up the vehicle and the issues had been corrected. However, I could tell that the repair had a lot of bondo in it. It was more like a sculpture than a repair. I had had enough and just wanted my vehicle back. It was not worth the anguish and stress. As long as Romone is working there I will never return. There is no way that the company does not know about this guys behavior, so I suspect the company as a whole is without integrity.

I had my car towed there due to my warranty coverage. This was the only place in town that dealt with my warranty company. It was taken in because it wouldnt start back up when I turned it off and I had an A/C issue already and I thought I had an exhaust leak. They had checked it and told me what was wrong which was a gasket leak and I needed a tune up. The A/C they looked at and said they would have to run an additional test. I said ok. I did need my car and since the issues it had were ones that needed attention but not immediate I wanted to pick my car up and bring it back for the a/c test. nothing so far was going to be covered except the a/c so i planned on taking it somewhre else that was much cheaper to fix. I picked up my car Friday right at closing time and i had to pick my husband up from seguin. i used his car but left it there and drove mine becuase his was a standard and its harder for me to drive. I leave there lot and head up 46 i get to the intersection at i-10 and my car is on HOT completely hot. I pull into the gas station and call my husband and he and his friend comes to look at it. My car was 100% empty of coolant. Not a single drop in there. Now I found this to be very strange since my car was not running hot before. I had checked all my fluids the day it broke down whhich was thursday and yet the next day its completely empty. I fill it up and all seems good it hasnt leaked any yet and my car has not run hot since. So today i call franks and ask them what test they did and asked why my car was empty of fluids. A mand named george answered and he is not in a nice tone telling me he doesnt have an answer as to why that maybe i sprung a leak between here and seguin but that they can take another look at it. Of course they can! They also said maybe it was low and went empty and on and on. WEll my car still has the same amount i had to put back in. It never ran hot before and it didnt the day before so even if it was low it should have ran hot. something had to of happend here and i have been lied to about it. Not only is it 100% strange that it all of a sudden had coolant and now it disappeared to them telling me when i picked it up that it was safe to drive all just seems like a big scam. Something could have gone really wrong for it to be so empty like that. I fully intend of pursing further action against them.
