As the weather cooled off and we can spend serious time in our new outdoor space, we cannot be happier with the work done by Island Blue. From planning to dealing with the HOA and the construction process, the whole process was smooth and worry-free. If you want to extend your living space outside, choose Island Blue!

The pool build went amazingly well. Rick was very professional during the whole process. Every little detail of small things we didn’t even think of were handled. I would have Island Blue build me another pool any day of the week. My expectations were exceeded!

Great experience from start to finish. Rick came up with a great design and helped up tweak it from there. Digging started 12/20/23. The pool was finished, filled and running on 2/5/24. It would have been even faster except for a cold winter storm and some heavy days of rain. The end result is more beautiful than we could have imagined. Rick’s customer service was great! He was good about explaining what each step entailed. He worked with us and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend Island Blue Pools!

I love love love my new covered patio and pool. Great pricing and fantastic customer service. I let Rick know what budget I was looking to stay within and Rick made it happen. All of the people that came out to do work were respectful, reliable, courteous and cared for my property. It is a dirty process building a pool and step by step Rick was communicating with me about what was next. I am over the moon with the custom design that we had done. Island Blue Pools built our pool exactly how we wanted it, Rick did a excellent job starting and finishing our pool within two months. His contractors are very nice and do great work. We really enjoyed working with Island Blue Pools they made the contract processes very easy. I highly recommend using them as your future pool company.

What can We say? Rick came with the best design plan within our budget. The pool construction was à success. Excellent responsiveness. If we have to built another pool, We Will use again this company. Real good job and services.

Island Blue Custom Pools, has built two pools for me know. Both have turned out fantastic, on budget, and in a timely fashion. I enjoyed the personal service given by the owner, Ricky. Rick sells a custom pool at a competitive price. He installed our pool in October 2014 and we have been very impressed with the overall quality of the pool and the accessories, including the raised hot tub, tiled columns, sun shelf, and fire pit. Our backyard is relatively small and has limited side-access, but we now have a beautiful 15,000 gallon pool with travertine tile and pebble finish. His crew was able to dig the pool and install all the equipment with no damage to our neighbor’s or our house. He was also able to integrate the new and existing patio seamlessly. Everything feels upgraded. We have a remote that controls everything from inside the house….and it does not require batteries. We are very happy with Island Blue Pools.

We decided to go with Island Blue after interviewing at least 5 other companies. They were great through the entire process and helped us design our dream pool. The biggest surprise was that we stayed on BUDGET! That is almost unheard of in this day and age. From the design phase we opted for several upgrades like a grotto, waterfall with built in water slide, wet-edge pebble plaster, and textured stamped concrete deck. We had a big 4th of July party planned and Rick made sure that were were all finished and ready for our party. They worked almost everyday to ensure that we met our deadline. The pool turned out better than expected. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a new pool.

Island Blue Custom Pools was referred to us by a neighbor. Ricks design exceeded our expectations and he was willing to work within our budget. Now we have a backyard space that we are excited to enjoy with our friends and family.

We are really pleased with our pool. All the crews did a great job. Ricky designed exactly what we wanted, gave us the price and the construction time and everything worked out accordingly. I have and would recommend Island Blue Pools.

What can I say? Its perfect! I had a budget in mind and no idea about pools. They came in with several design plans and ideas. I choose my design, added what I wanted and they started the day after I closed. It was super easy. We had an automation system installed and I would not have it any other way. All i do is set my pump speed, set the times and walk away. No worrying about whether or not to run the pumps. Also, if we wan to get into the hot tub, all I do is press a button and its hot in 15 minutes! The process of the entire build only took 30 days!!!!!!!!

When I sit down to write this review, it ends up being multiple pages long as there was so much that went wrong over the 7 mos from the time we signed the contract until our pool was usable so I’m just going to have to briefly hit everything and feel free to message me for more detail.Signed the contract on 9/30/2020 and told start date would be end of Nov. Nov came and went without a word from Rick Freeman. Told new start date sometime in Dec after we contacted him. Then told we were the 1st house he would start on in Jan. Then told 1/16/2021. He sends someone out to mark utilities a few days before and of course electric lines running through our yard that had to moved to the tune of $2950 and pushed start date back again to 1/28. They come out on 1/28 to stake out the pool the day they are going to dig, and we find out that because of the elevation in our yard, he needs to put in a raised beam. Had he staked out the yard prior to this we would have known before the day of the dig and maybe been able to come up with an alternative design rather than just being told this is it and it’s going to cost you $1750 extra. By 2/10/2021, all of the gunite and tile was completed.No work at all done on the pool from 2/10 – 3/29 but during that time period he told us 5 different times that the plumbers would be out, they wouldn’t show, and we would have to contact Rick to let him know no one had shown up.On 4/10, we called him out there with questions because we didn’t see where the autofill was. It hadn’t been installed and he had no idea it hadn’t been installed so he had to call the plumber back out to drill through the gunite to get that done.4/24/2021 was the first day we were able to use our pool.On 4/30, after a rainstorm, something had leaked rust from underneath the travertine decking, and we had a huge rust stain on 4 decking tiles. Last we heard from him on 5/24 was that his tile guys were wrapping up a job and would be by to fix it…as of today, 6/25, haven’t heard another word from him about this, no one has come out and we’ve pretty much gotten the stains out by ourselves at our own expense rather than trying to stay on top of Rick about it.We had a gas leak in the main gas line at the regulator and you could smell gas every time it was on, so we always had to turn the main gas line off. We sent him video of soap/water bubbling up where the leak was. He sent his plumbers out and they said no leak. We called in our own plumber, they took video and fixed it correctly. Sent Rick the bill for him to reimburse us.One of the documents you sign says you will get weekly updates – not true…only updates we got where when we text him, usually multiple times.The contract says he provides a release of lien with each payment – not true…we asked for each release in text, email, on the phone and he said he was getting his subs to sign them, but never produced them and only gave us one lien release at the end, not even notarized.If proactive communication and a pool builder that is on top of the entire process is what you are looking for, over our 7-month experience, Rick Freeman and Island Blue Pools falls unbelievably short of expectation and what he promises in his bid.

Owner was very helpful in working with us to get exactly what we wanted. Price was fair, and finished product was flawless. We are really happy with our new pool and look forward to enjoying it this Summer and having lots of fun with the neighborhood kids and parents coming over for BBQ and parties. Thank you Mr. Freeman. Im very curious how these reviewers get a hold of Rick or anyone at this business? I called the # a few times but nobody ever pick up. The number listed is actually a cell phone #, which leads me to wonder if they even have an actual office location? Can you imagine after you sign a contract and trying to get a hold of someone or when your pool have some major issues?
