Freedom & Refrigeration

This company is a ripoff. I called another AC company to compare prices for the same service and found out they overcharged me by 30%! They also claimed that I needed repairs I didnt need, again all verified by getting a second opinion. I would steer clear of these guys.

Freedom, air and refrigeration was there when I needed them. Great service, and great detailed in their work. We needed AC in our house because both of our units broke down, it was during summer time. They acted fast, and had up and running with AC in no time. I will always go with freedom, air and refrigeration. Till this day our AC units are working perfectly fine, and I love the fact that we weren’t overly priced. Freedom air, and refrigeration is the route I would go if your looking for fast response times, good quality detailed work, and an affordable price.

I was having trouble with my AC unit and it was leaking on my ceiling. So I decided to call freedom AC to come and check it.Ernie was very helpful and informative about the issue. He explained what needed to be done and he fixed my AC unit. Would highly recommend!

Our AC unfortunately stopped cooling out of nowhere one day. I researched some local AC repair companies and selected Freedom based off the reviews I had read. I called and Ernesto came that very same day and explained what type of problem we were experiencing. He also took the time to explain basic AC info we could do on our own to practice preventive measures. He was really friendly! Highly Recommend Freedom Air and Refrigeration. A week ago, I called them out because the roof in my closet had collapsed due heavy moisture from the AC. When I called Ernesto, the owner he gave me a time when he was going to be at the house and was prompt. He quickly identified the issues and resolved them. As it turns out, my problem was worse and he immediately gave me several courses of action along with the costs associated with each of the courses and how long he thought the problems would be fixed. All that being said, I decided to change out my two AC units and asked him for a price. Once he gave me the price I called several other AC repair companies and his price was nearly $800 less than what the others were charging. Better yet I got a lifetime warranty on the compressor (the others only offered 10 years) and ten years on the other components. He said that he would be done in a day and a half because of the placement of the units and exactly a day and half later it was complete. He not only delivered on the time and equipment but the quality of work was outstanding. Very professional before, during, and after the work was complete. He even called me today to make sure everything was still running good. If you are having problems with your AC, you need to call Freedom, you wont regret it. Couldnt be anymore happier with the services provided from this company. They were very professional and the owner was not hesitant to teach me a thing or two about my Ac system. Overall, I would definitely recommend, they were quick and had my Ac unit running the same day I called them.

We are based out of NJ & were looking for a company that could do the installation of the refrigeration system for a walk-in cooler @ Total Wine & More in McAllen, TX. Had an ac issue on a weekend, and had tried calling a few places all unable to come till Monday. Freedom ac was available to come right away within 15-20mins to my house and helped solve the problem quickly. Happy with the service and response.

We had been communicating with other A/C repair companies and none were available, they either were not working on a Saturday, they were just full or simply to expensive. Freedom A/C did everything to get it fixed the same day I contacted them. Amazing!! Wish I would have contacted them earlier.Excellent communication!

I woke up to a loud humming outside early in the morning. I went to my backyard and noticedy Air Conditioning compressor was literally full of ice and completely frozen! I didnt think anything on South Texas could freeze but I was wrong lol. I looked up many different companies to help service my issue. Ive used large companies in the past and honestly they were expensive and I had really bad experiences. I decided I wanted to go with a smaller operation to ensure a much more personable experience. When I called, I went directly to the owners cell phone whi h was nice. After asking some initial questions to get an idea of the issue he stated theyd be over shortly. He wasnt kidding. What felt like no time at all, I was then greeted by two very personable gentleman who were friendly, professional, funny and went step by step to ensure they diagnosed by issue properly and verify there were no additional issues. They even took the time to verify my A/C warranty. I thought I only had 5 years but to my surprise they confirmed I actually had 10 years. They ordered the part, pi led.it up and installed it all same day! This was a relief, the day it broke was the hottest it has been in a while. I also learned a lot and felt that they provided me an education as they walked me through the entire process step-by-step. This made me feel much better and more confident iny choosing them as a company. I would highly recommend them for anyone else looking for A/C work, especially if you want to support your small business owners as I do.

Fast, friendly service. I called on a Saturday morning and they were at my home within an hour ready to fix my A/C. They explained everything that was wrong and got my unit up and running quickly. I would highly recommend!

Received superior service on an after hours call. Responded in less than one hour and quickly corrected a problem another a/c company caused earlier on that very hot day. Explained the work they performed and made sure I was fully satisfied before they left. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

This company commits robbery with all of their customers. I called and they did not give me any warning that they arent an AC company but they CONTACT an actual AC contractor to help you with the issues you are having. Basically, a third party. Thus, with that being said a contractor came over and cleaned the clogged drainage and a shot of freon in 5 minutes and charged me 230.00$. Even the contractor said they charge people way to much. You are better off contacting an AC contractor yourself. DO NOT bother with these people.

We are an out of state distributor and called Freedom Air to repair a refrigerated display case for a customer in McAllen. Ernesto was a great help to us in solving the problem. I shopped around and got the best deal and affordable pricing. They arrived and installed the unit very quickly and they explained everything I needed to know, they cleaned their work area, by the afternoon my house was nice and cool I highly recommend freedom air and refrigeration.

Came home from vacation to a non functioning AC, I called them the night of, it was late, they could not be here that night but showed up early the following day and replaced a burned motor. They did a good a job at a fair price. Sadly they only take cash and checks, no credit cards.

Called for quotes and got one for me it was too expensive he said would not do anything less than $150. He calls me back and I told him I already got a quote and he laughs saying oh the lady that wanted it cheap 😠 mmm btw I did find a company with actual polite people and cheaper. That was out of line to call and laugh. Would not do business with people like this.

Passive agressive on phone then never showed up. I asked when’s the soonest you could come he said it could be 8,9,10.. i said alright, then comes 10:30 so i canceled. Dont go here 👎

I am a commercial GC and this company went above and beyond repairing the 50 ton units and three 15 ton units and the replacement of one compressor two condenser fan to 50 ton unitHighly recommend for commercial projects.
