Extremely happy with the technicians, service, outcomes and pricing!! David and John arrived as scheduled and called when on the way. My wife told them our concerns. They did a comprehensive evaluation of our entire system. They recommended what to fix, preventative maintenance options and minor changes on our part to optimize performance. Specifically filter changes to increase air flow (was using top dollar quality 3M pleated in return air and whole house which was actually choking airflow down). Did 100% of what they suggested. Very happy with upfront pricing on invoice / worksheet. They were honest, forthright and did not try to sell, they simply informed and educated. My wife was extremely comfortable working with them. We are very certain that what they did will take us through the summer without worry. I have recommended to friends and family.

This review, written in June of 2024, is for work done over a year ago. The reason for the delay is that I only recently had time to fix the multiple mistakes this company made. When I went into the attic to correct a poorly installed booster fan (details below), I also discovered dangerous wiring in violation of electrical codes. See those wire connections near the duct? By code, those are supposed to be inside a junction box that is secured to house framing. But the way this was done is a FIRE and ELECTROCUTION hazard, should someone bump up against it or disturb the connection. That is what prompted me to write this review.Earlier problems: The way this all started was the house I purchased had poor air circulation to one corner of the house, as identified during the home inspection. Prior to closing, the owner had Affordable American (AA) install a booster fan. Unfortunately, they installed it in the wrong location. Instead of installing it upstream of a Y-junction, they installed it in one of the branch circuits of the Y. The problem with that is instead of boosting the air coming from the evaporator fan, it sucks air out of the other side of the Y branch. In effect, creating an endless loop of air that never gets cooled (or heated). When I notified AA of their mistake, they inspected it and quoted their full price for such work, saying it was over a year and why did I wait so long. I don’t know why that should matter since it was still a faulty installation on their part. After much haggling, they finally agreed to do it for half the original quote. I then tried to schedule the work, but after many phone calls over a period of weeks, I could never get them to come out. It is clear to me that they had no intention of standing behind their work. In the end, I’m glad they didn’t because I never would have seen the shoddy workmanship of the wiring mentioned earlier.I’m glad others seem to have had good experiences with Affordable American, but based on my experience, I would at least have someone knowledgeable check their work for code violations and safety issues. And don’t pay them without an independent inspection as they do not stand behind their work.

Affordable American Air has been our AC and Heating Contractor for several years. Their Service is excellent from Office Personnel to their Highly Qualified Technicians. Their knowledge in Maintenance and New Installation has been outstanding at all times. Their prices are more than fair and competitive. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed!

These guys are the best around, hands down. Ive used them a few times over the years and have always had a great experience. They are prompt, informative with options and take care of the problem. Called them this morning with an issue and the issue was resolved the same day. Small company but provide amazing service with fair prices. Tanya is amazing!!!

I have been using Affordable American Air Conditioning and Heating for over 10yrs. I recently called during the freeze about my heating unit.David came out, and within 2hrs of my request for service he had the unit running again. HE IS HONEST, PUNCTUAL, PERSONABLE AND PROFESSIONAL. He is knowledgeable about all systems and tries to fix if possible. I will never use another company! This is my AC/Heating repair company!

Affordable American a.c. is one of the best companies I have worked with. They are true to their word and installed a great multi stage system at a great price. In addition I had a radiant barrier and insulation and insulated attic door installed. They have stood by their install and product over the last 4 years. These guys were awesome! They are very honest and sincere and truly care about the customer! They were extremely responsive! Same day service. They didnt just try to sell us a new furnace, which most companies do! They made an attempt to repair it and it did work so we had heat in this cold winter. We ultimately had to replace the electric furnace (it was over 35 years old!). They gave us a great price and have a wonderful maintenance agreement! Installation was timely! They even brought us heaters for overnight until they could get the new system put in the very next day! 5 stars for sure! VERY VERY PLEASED! I HIGHLY recommend Affordable American !

Best A/C Service Company I have ever dealt with ! They are completely responsive, and Justin was super - he came out when our A/C had quit working. His hard work and dedication saved us ! He took care of business like a real pro, went many extra yards , was very professional and friendly. These folks really know what they are doing and I never once, ever, felt like they were trying to sell me something I really did not need. And, they teach as they go !! So now I dont feel so ignorant about these very important systems. Great job, every time !!

Worked with Affordable AC and Heat on cleaning my air ducts. Chuck came out to assess my ventilation system, and essentially did a service call free of charge to dissect an issue I was having in my daughters room. His team showed up to do the duct work on time and kept me updated throughout the day on the progress. Have been pleased so far with their work and would recommend them to anyone who asks for a reputable AC or heater technician or for a duct cleaning.

At first contact, office mgr was attentive and responsive. Owner of the business arrived on time for our appointment and listened carefully to what I wanted to accomplish. Given my objectives, he recommended a combination of products, CertainTeed blown insulation and radiant barrier coating and attic tent that would achieve what I wanted, and the price he quoted was comparable/competitive with earlier estimates I had received. We had several weather delays, and they kept me updated, on their own initiative, each day. The process required two different days, and the work crew arrived promptly on both days. They were professional, efficient, and knowledgeable, and I was impressed by the thoroughness of their work in my complex attic space. On both days they left my home, yard, and street as clean as if they hadnt been here. The end result was exactly what I had wanted, I am pleased to recommend them, and I will work with them again on future projects.

Timely, very fair price, nice technicianI had paid another company to diagnose my failed air con unit. It turned out to be a bad blower motor. After I sent the other company on their way when they wanted to charge me $1,400 to repair the motor I called Affordable American Air Conditioning and they came out on time to the minute and repaired my unit for $326 in slightly over 1 hour.They are now my go to company for air con repairs!

On a very hot Saturday afternoon (isn’t it always that way) I had an issue with a new thermostat install, and although Chuck was fully booked for the day, he stayed on the phone for better than an hour to help resolve my issues. Chuck then refused any consultation payment for his time. It’s hard to find this type of customer focused service anymore! You can bet my next A/C service call will be to Chuck.

My husband and I had a new 4 ton Amana AC unit installed recently, replacing an old 3.5 ton unit. We interviewed several companies...some of which promised quotes, but never came through with them. Now were glad they didnt because when we interviewed Charles Chuck Blair, owner of Affordable American A/C and Heating, we were immediately sold. Chuck was the only one who offered several different written quotes based on different possibilities we were discussing right on the spot. The others had all said they would email us quotes, which none did, even after our calling to remind them.When the day came for Chuck and his crew to start their work, they were here promptly at 8:00 am. They rolled out a canvas on our carpet to keep it clean...and it did. All of the men working here were extremely professional and so nice and polite. They went about their work outside and in our attic in a way that made us completely confident in their expertise. The job was done efficiently, cleanly and within a reasonable time frame.After the unit was installed, Chuck wanted to turn on the heating system to make sure it still worked properly (we were not having the heating system or new ductwork replaced at this time). Our ductwork is old and when it first came on, it shot out a lot of debris from the air vents. This has happened before to us, so I was not surprised. However, we hadnt covered the furniture or chandeliers, so there was quite a bit of mess to clean up. I was going to start that when I saw that Chuck had already started vacuuming everything including the glass bowls of our chandelier and had everything immaculate before I could even start! That was so above and beyond to us that we were totally impressed.My husband and I have lived in The Woodlands, TX, for 24 years and in the Houston area before that for 21 years. Weve had a lot of different HVAC companies service our equipment in those 45 yrs., but weve never had a more fair-priced, professional, efficient, intelligent, courteous and respectful company than we had with Affordable American A/C and Heating. Our AC went OUT on the hottest day of the year thus far. Tonya was kind enough to schedule us the very same afternoon, and Chuck came out right on time. Chuck not only serviced our units, but provided us with a wealth of time and money saving information and education to lengthen the life of our AC. Chucks team did a great job repairing our old system. A/C repair is always a little painful, but Chuck made us feel good about spending the money, making some good recommendations for further energy savings. Hes got a good bedside manner when explaining the repairs.
