You get good honest service. No trying to get more from you NY doing work that doesnt need yo be done. Pep boys and the mechanic they recommended were going to tear my car apart piece by piece till they found what was wrong. Charging me exorbitant prices all along the way. Shephard found the problem and fixed their work at a reasonable price since the other mechanic tried to ruin my car by leaving the a/c lines open to the air. Shepard replaced the lines and made sure they did not have dust or dirt in the lines which could cause other problems. They were the greatest and are my go to for all mechanical concerns.

Stay AWAY from this place. Paid for repairs that didnt even last a mile from driving away. Took vehicle back, after they implied I was lying. They said they would fix it. Left it there a month, not a single call back from them for an update, I kept calling to get an expected date for vehicle to be ready all I got was runaround. They only had excuses, like the part is not in, this takes time, it will be ready, we had a wedding, wrong part came in, defective part. No Money was returned. Nothing was fixed. Stay Away! This has been the worst place I have ever been to. Do not rely on them.

Worst mechanic ever!!! Had my sons truck for over a month. Was unable to fix anything . Screwed up a new carburetor and ordered another new one. Still unable to fix truck properly. Charged over 1000.00 and still had my son drive away knowing it was idling high and states a motor mount was compromised . Why didnt he even suggest to fix that??? Knew things were compromised but didnt care to make sure everything good before he released vehicle. Bad communicator. Didnt call when he said he would.No customer service, no concern except for money.Hope nobody goes there because will probably be in compromised vehicle.Definitely going somewhere else to have vehicle rechecked.

Spoke with Ben, the owner, after emailing the company. He responded very quickly to my email, and was able to work me in in two days. Extremely friendly staff over the phone and in person. Owner even called me to let me know my car was ready, which most mechanic shops I’ve encountered don’t do. I always have to call them it seems, but this wasn’t the case at Shepherd’s. Took the time to explain in detail what they did to my car and took care of a small issue that we could not foresee. Reasonably priced and great work. I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends, and we will definitely be back when we need service in the future!

I recently moved to the area and was looking for an auto repair close by because my starter was going bad. So I drove up, told them the issue and they took me right away! I even got a ride back home.I got a call within the hour and since they already knew the problem, Paul said they would only charge half to do the other diagnostics. He suggested a rebuilt starter because they were cheaper.I also told him to check the front brakes because I thought that I might need them. He said the brakes were still good! Some garages couldve went ahead and done the brakes since I brought it up but they were honest and that was refreshing!They did the job fast and came to pick me up to get back to the garage.I had the car a couple days and the starter didnt sound right so I went back. The mechanic came out to listen and agreed. This was not their fault as bad out of the box parts do happen.I asked if they could put a new one in instead of a rebuilt. Since Im in business myself, I know they mark-up the cost of the parts so I told them Id be happy to pay the difference plus the mark-up.It was late in the afternoon so they asked if I could come in first thing in the morning. I brought the car in, got a ride home and they were finished in about 2 hours. They picked me up from home right away and when I got to the garage, Paul only charged me their additional cost of the new starter with no mark up. The new starter sounded great!I was totally impressed with the whole experience. They will be my go to garage whenever I need service and repairs and Ill also recommend them to my friend and neighbors.

I adore these guys. Theyre honest, ethical and priced fairly. They really go the extra mile. Theyll give you their opinion, but never push you to do anything. Theyll let you know whether its something that can wait or needs to be done RIGHT NOW. Theyll help you find used parts if its a viable option. Theyll get you brand new parts if its not. Ive never felt pressured and Ive always left happy.

I had to get my SUV fixed before a road trip and other places charged me $4000+ to change catalytic converters and camshaft position sensor these guys not only gave me almost half price off but finished in one day! excellent service! I’m bringing my cars here when I have a problem.

They did minor engine repair. When they gave me the car, AC was not working and compressor was burned completely (when they dropped me off with my own car the AC was perfectly fine).I assume they idled my car for hours and maybe whole day in their shop and burned the AC. Then they asked for $2000 extra to fix the AC. I never had AC issue and was working perfectly fine before they dropped me off.

Wheel bearings went bad on my truck just passing through. I limped it here & they verified it. They checked the rest of my front end to make sure nothing else was bad. They had the hub bearings off in no time. Had to wait on the parts to be delivered. Once they showed, they had them on quickly. They got me going very quickly. You don’t see that much anymore. These guys are great. Put on cartoons for my son to watch while I waited. Very reasonable hourly rates. I wish they were closer to where I live. 5 stars!

These guys are amazing! Fastest friendliest and most knowledgeable service I have ever received they even gave me a ride home and a ride back to the shop to pick up my car.

Fabulous service! I called to see how busy they were and was told to come on over. I went an hour later and had my car serviced immediately. A mechanic took it for a short test drive to hear the sounds I described. I needed my front brake pads replaced and they had it done in about 3 hours including their lunch break. I had been given a ride home and then picked up after the service was done. The price was lower than I thought. Im always worried about being taken advantage of at repair shops since Im a woman and ignorant about cars, but I did not feel that way at all here. I felt respected and will definitely return here for any more car trouble.

I adore the gentlemen who work here.They take phenomenal care of me Every. Single. Time.They are great people to talk to, they provide outstanding service in a timely manner, they communicate more than any other auto care place Ive been in (in and out of Lubbock) and explain everything thats going on with my car every step of the way. It is such a pleasure to work with these gentlemen. I highly recommend them.

They fixed my car so fast! And escorted me back to work & picked me up at the end of the day 🙌🙌🙌 They also charged me out the wazoo... but I was glad to have my vehicle back up & running.However dealing with them as a business person is a different story ... rude,downright rude to women... I am the supervisor of a business here in Lubbock & if my guys call or take the trucks in then they are treated fairly decent,sometimes. Every-time I call to check up on the status of our vehicles ( which are our lively hood btw ) then I am verbally berated by a certain employee named Paul, his rudeness isnt just directed at me... he has also been extremely rude to a couple of my guys on occasion. I think he hates his job or something... we are a company that has used Shepherds exclusively for repairs,pm & inspections. We always pay our bill in a timely manner & I am now shopping around for a new place for us to use after months of being treated like we are a problem instead of a valued customer.I only gave this 1 star in order to post it. In my opinion they are mediocre mechanics at best with a terribly unprofessional attitude.

I cannot say enough to praise Shepard Auto! Although I did not take my vehicle to them, they helped me with a very different thing. Today when I got home, I heard meowing coming from my engine. Upon opening the hood, I realized there was a kitten stuck in my engine bay. I tried to get the kitten out on my own but was unsuccessful. A neighbor reached out to Shepard Auto and they did not hesitate to send someone to help. Cody arrived in no time to my residence and worked his magic to the get the kitten out. It was no easy feat but he was able to set it free after an hour or so! I was so relieved we were able to get it out and hopefully find it a home. Thank you Shepard Auto and Cody for being such kind human beings!!! You’ve gained a customer for life!!!

You can trust these guys with anything! Our whole family takes our vehicles there and were never disappointed. If you dont understand the repairs that youre getting simply asked and they will explain in detail whats going on before they charge you a dime.If youre looking to purchase a used vehicle take your car to them first pay for an inspection and they are extremely thorough makes a huge bargaining chip for the vehicle but also lets you have the perfect idea of what youll be buying...or maybe not buying.

Great place to take your vehicle. Everyone was very nice and respectful. Everything was explained to me in detail. Brought my truck in being told by someone else that it was one thing, and leaving with it being another that didnt cost as much. They are very reasonable on their prices & do amazing work. If I ever need any work again, I will be taking any one of my vehicles to them to have fixed.Thank Yall for great service & great people.

Had my van for 6 months now lies the whole time I paid half of the 1800$ bill. The chip needs replaced they put a used one in and can’t program it so they we’re taking it to the dealership to get a new one that was January I drove over they told me the dealership picked it up when we could clearly see it in the back now it’s at the dealership and I called the dealership they were not putting a new one in just trying to program the old one. They refused to refund me my money when they have not fixed anything!

Horrible. They overcharge for labor & diagnostics; they charged me $79.50 for diagnostics even though I knew exactly what needed to be fixed when I brought my car in. I had three check engine lights on... two were for a misfire and one was for a speed sensor, in which I supplied to him.I am a young girl and they totally took advantage of my lack of knowledge for auto repair charges. When I brought my invoice to another TRUSTWORTHY auto repair shop (that were too full to fit me in), they were shocked at the labor they charged for putting on spark plugs, etc. and the fact that they charged me $79.50 for diagnosing an already known problem was ridiculous.I was told that diagnostics was necessary by the owner because putting on new parts doesnt always resolve the problem. This is true for some cases, but NOT mine. My check engine light code TOLD them EXACTLY what needed to be done. He refused to give me any money back and claimed that he didnt feel it would compensate for the work done. This man trys to act like he treats his customers great, but its all a hoax. I paid approximately $487 to this place and I am furious that they have done nothing for me after I realized how much they ripped me off. Nothing. I will never go back here and I would advise anybody else the same. There is a reason they have such an open schedule and there is a reason they supply rides to their customers... its because nobody wants to be serviced by them once they know the truth & they need any service they can get.

Fantastic service and a personal approach. As a woman it is hard to find a mechanic who is trust worthy and not condescending, the guys at Shepherds are awesome. They explain everything in a way that you personally will understand, and address you personally instead of referring to your husband or your father, which I appreciate. In addition to being explanatory, friendly, and polite, they did a great job fixing my truck! I also got a student discount. Thank you Shepherds Auto Care!! Ill definitely refer friends & come back myself if I need anything else.

Passing thru town on the way back to Austin from a family trip out of state and suddenly the car dies in the middle of an intersection.Uh-oh !!A local referred them after I asked for a decent shop name. I called in and Ben quickly had me in touch with a wrecker as well as sending his personal vehicle over to pick up myself, the wife, the 3 kids and our two dogs. Did I mention he was kind enough to bring cold water as wed been standing out in the 98 degree heat?The car got over to them 45 minutes before closing time and they took the time out of their already long day to stay more than 2 hours past closing time to get us up and running and back on the road. We were treated like family while waiting, as well as our dogs, and the bill was pleasantly surprisingly low.I cant praise Ben, his family, and crew enough for treating us the way they did. They were quick to ensure our safety, comfort, and eagerness to resolve the problem and get us heading south again as quickly and financially painless as possible as they did not make any money considering the overhead associated with that extra time vs my bill.I wish they were closer to Central Texas as a business run like this is hard to find anymore. It reminds me of the way customer service used to be and brings a smile to think there are still a few honorable auto repair places left today .Job well done gentlemen !

Paid thousands of dollars for them to replace the motor, transmission, and a few other misc. things on our Jeep. First, they had someone go all the way to Dallas to pick up the motor just to get back and find out it was the wrong motor. Second, once we were able to drive the Jeep to WA state, the belt that they replaced broke due to them putting the wrong size on. We ended up having to go back and forth with the owner for him to fix their mistake.Would not recommend this shop if you want your car serviced well and in a timely manner.

I called about twenty minutes ago to see if they could do the check engine light on my 1990 Honda Accord. The man I spoke to, Paul, said Yes, we can do the check engine light on your 1990 Honda Accord. And I began to say Great, when can I bring it in when he cut me off and said no, we cant do that for your car. And I asked him if he by chance knew anywhere I could take it and he sarcastically said Well, Id guess Honda could I laughed and said thank you and hung up.If they cant even take phone calls with a shred of customer service, dont waste your time even going by.

Very pleased. They got me right in and by right in I mean I called they said cmon over and I was in. Work was excellent they did a front to back inspection of my truck on top of fixing my AC that I bought it in for and they took me home and came back and got when the work was done at a very reasonable price. I will be returning here for all my repair work

Kept my truck three days because it would not start. I called on the third day and they said that it started and couldnt find any thing wrong and I could pick it up. I made it 165 miles and same thing happened. Had it repaired in abilene texas. Needed fuel pump one other part.

Knowledgeable and honest people here! Had my carpet van fixed here recently. My issue was not the most ordinary mechanic work needed but they took on the challenge and helped me get my work van back to work! Thanks guys.

Amazing shop! The owner ben is super friendly and very helpful!! No shop in town is quite like shepherds! The best crew very knowledgeable and experienced!! If you want quality work at an amazing price shepherds is the way to go!!!

The wonderful men who work here were so kind! I had a blow out and I just happened to pull up here and I was treated very well! I recommend coming here because of the kind service I received and cant thank the guys enough.

Keeps telling us a day that its going to be done and its not. Been nearly two weeks and they still have it. Husband went up there today and the mechanics where sitting there eating icecream besides one. If they would stop eating and work our truck could be done. Will not use them again

Very unprofessional please check every parts and take pictures before you drop off your car at this place. Missing parts from your car will not be their responsibility

Would not recommend. Took them about a month to fix my car. Now my car has a oil leak and I dont want to take my car back there because it might be there for another month.

Ask them to fix my ac ,no matter what it cost ,they chrarge 700 , my ac still blow hot air like them, then they wanted to charge another 400 to fix something else, dont waste your money there trash!

These people like to deliberately cause problems with your car ( place two plug wires off timing on the destributor ) when you dont allow them to do uneeded work from their scams. Stop here at your own peril.

Was charging me for stuff I didnt need. Took it to different auto garage .....glad I got 2nd opinion I also asked for pic(proff) it was needed they refused.

Sorry shop they said they replaced timing assemble had problems 5000 miles later a true shop told me it was not touched that they riped me off for 1600.00

Called to get a rough quote on a certain job the guy who answered was unprofessional from the start . I ended up hanging up on the guy and called somewhere else and got helped . If there were a 0 star rating it would’ve been a low 0.

Well ....my truck has been there for about 5 months now and when I call they tell me its going to be ready next week .....and every week its the same ...I definitely will not recommend this place...dont waste your time or your money here

Not good mechanics lots of run around and still end up with a vehicle that runs the same as it did when taken in they had the vehicle for almost a year and im still having exact same problems they tell u just bring it back in 4 times and nine months later wow will never take them any vehicles anymore
