Nice people very respectful and polite, probably do great work on things they will work on. However, they are not in fact a complete auto repair , as stated on the side of the building. So do not ask to have the rear differential rebuilt or gear ratio change, I was told they cant do that.

Frank was very helpful and went above and beyond what I asked him to do. I appreciate the time he spent trying to solve my issue. Highly recommend, and I will definitely bring any future business to Transmission Exchange.

Transmission Exchange in Liberty Texas is holding my car hostage. I paid them $7,340. The company did not fix my car and I have been without the car from August 2nd 2024 to September 26, 2024. It was supposed to be a transmission replacement. They did not guarantee their work and now they wont release my car back to me so I can take it away from the shop after making my car worse. The owner of the shop would not admit that maybe he made a mistake on the car. He would not negotiate any fixes after the amount of money I spent. They have also affected my entire life. We live in a very mobile world where we have to have a car.

Parts were ordered, but not correct. Reorder was not shipped immediately, after the repair was completed, all seems to be working properly.

Fantastic they were in great communication the whole time, the work was done quick and with pride and their price was fair

Took a little while for them to start working on my car that’s understandable I just wasn’t made aware but Frank is a super cool guy. His daughter works the front counter. She’s super cool even gave me a military discount. My car went into that shop messed up and came out perfect thanks Frank.

Frank knows his stuff and he’s nice as can be. They called with a quote after assessing my transmission, and got it done in a timely manner. Even did me a favor and got it ready for paint!

Im a mechanic myself and after getting my truck back from having the transmission rebuilt at transmission exchange in liberty tx this is what i found:list of loose bolts on my rebuilt th400:- 3x transmission cross member- 2x transmission mount- (all) transmission fluid pan- speedometer housing clamp- 4x tail shaft case to main case- both driveshaft carrier bolts (causing the driveshaft to partially fall out and try to shake me to death)- 2x flex platebefore a vehicle is returned to a customer any shop no matter the specialty does (or should do) a bolt check where you go through every nut and bolt you touched and make sure they are tight, secure and if needed torqued to spec because at the end of the day people lifes are on the line. it looks like this was not performed on my truck, i dont much care about my truck, i can fix loose bolts and missing washers, nuts ect. but i worry about anyone else who comes here whos not mechanically savy and is put at risk of harm. maybe the guy who installed my transmission has been fired by now. i sure hope thats the case. maybe my case is a fluke from an amazing shop, but thats what reviews are for.

Have been using this business for many years and always satisfied. They have been very honest and prompt. Also reasonable fees. The first place I think of when I have transmission issues.

I had some work done on our truck. The staff at Transmission Exchange were friendly, professional, and did a great job. Will use them again if I need vehicle work done.

I asked him to change ALL of my cylinders. He changed one so that I would have to come back and get the rest changed. More money. I had the money for all the cylinders and spark plugs. My car is no better than it was when I let him fix it.

Did a great job evaluations of problem with noise coming from my truck and didnt try to gouge me saying the problem was something it wasnt. Fixed problem in a timely manner and all is good now. Thanks for onisty and professional work.

I trust these guys. Ive had a lot of work done on two separate vehicles and theyve gone out of their way to accommodate as well as to keep the price very close to the original estimate. Ive had no issues after the work performed including my 1983 Jeep CJ7 that these guys helped to diagnose and fix correctly. Im very pleased with the customer service and Team members. Id highly recommend these guys to anyone needing transmission service of any type.

I have been using TE for at least 20 years now. They have rebuilt 3 transactions for me. All of the rebuilds have been great. Never a problem. I brought my truck down the road and they said they wouldnt even touch it because its a computer error. I brought it into transmission exchange and not only did they find out that wasnt the problem it was misfiring on two cylinders. He fixed it in a timely manner and fair price

Franks the man! Was experiencing some torque converter shutter in my 2017 Tacoma. He could have fixed the problem himself for several hundred dollars. But instead he pulled up that there were some ongoing issues from the factory and recommended I take my truck to a Toyota service dealer. I did just that and they fixed the issue for free. You dont find many businesses these days that truly look out for the customer and not just their bottom line. Frank has earned all my business moving into the future.

Passing through with a loaded trailer behind my pickup. The transmission was overheating and unable to travel any further without service. Frank and staff diagnosed the problem to be a torque converter issue, ordered the parts and had me on the road the next day. I feel that given the circumstances I couldnt have done anything better or different that could have made the issue any more satisfying.

Where do I begin. I spoke with the mechanic hear a few times before I even brought my truck in and they sounded confident and told me that they have done the type of work I was looking for plenty of times and that it should be no problem so I dropped my truck off. they told me it would cost 6-7 hundred and take a bout a day or two. here I am 3 weeks later with no truck still and 1500 in the hole. I would never recommend this shop and will never go back to them again. after complaining about the time for two weeks they loaned me a jeep to use wich is falling apart, only one headlight works the battery was dead when I got there and no radio and it sounds like its falling apart everytime I get in it. if you can find any other shop or do it yourself I highly recommend it. very unprofessional and overpriced. two thumbs way down!

Car had a starting problem and needed a new radiator. Said they fixed said starting problem I gave a green light to order and install said radiator. Starting problem was not fixed turns out a seal was broken in the engine now coolant is in the motor and I’m out 850 bucks. Got a flashy new radiator on broken car awesome.

Terrible experience brought my truck in for a diagnosis the original Mechanic quoted us 50 something dollars to diagnose it I returned few days later to find my transmission out of the truck and on a table in a million pieces after they quoted me a super high price I found another guy to do it for half the price.Now they demanding I pay them 400+ dollars for removing my transmission when I never told them they can ever remove it. All I wanted was a price from them so I could shop around. And I did find a shop that will do the transmission for 1600 flat. When this place said it would cost me 3200+ to repair it. Now Im stuck with my truck in a million pieces and having to pay them 400+ to even get my truck away from them.

I brought my 1999 4runner in for some clunking sound when shifting from park to drive. They scoped everything related to the trans and adjusted a tv cable which helped the issue immensely. Im extremely happy with their proffesionalism, their honesty and their communication. I was told that if im not completely satisfied to bring it back at no cost for diagnostic. I highly recommend this shop! They now have a new customer! Thank you all very much!

The team here worked to provide quality work ,at a awesome rate of speed . Only hiccup was not knowing what was going on , but after a quick phone call with Frank , all was cleared up . I would use these folks again for my transmission needs.

Over priced. wanted to put a used transmission in my vehicle for the price of a rebuilt transmission. Wouldnt give a quote on rebuilding my transmission without bringing the vehicle in so they could diagnose the issue before giving a quote. Ended up taking my truck to another shop and had it rebuilt with 1 year warranty for a lil less than their quote on a used trans with a 30 day warranty. Wouldnt recommend this place to a rich man with no brains.

Frank was able to resolve our issue quickly. He kept us appraised of the timeline and what was involved. We always go to Frank for transmission issues, and many other mechanical issues.

What are the complaints most people have with mechanics? That they are Distant, Dishonest and Dismissive. Transmission Exchange is none of those. The problems more notably associated with automotive repair shops are completely absent with Transmission Exchange. All of the mechanics and employees are straightforward, open, communicative, and strive to save the customer money whenever they can.These guys were suggested to me by a friend, and I have been even more pleased than I expected.They are primarily a transmission shop, but can also handle any vehicle problems that you might have with kindness, honesty and good-ol-fashioned-know-how.

Have had them do two different jobs. They are straight up honest. Just knew on both jobs I was going to have to have transmission replaced or COMPLETE rebuild. As ut turned out it wasnt the case on either jobs. Saved me hundreds
