Kingwood Tire and Automotive Service

Yesterday my vehicle visited this shop for its annual state inspection and suffered damage that will ultimately cost thousands of dollars to restore the vehicle to how it was before they worked on it. Then upon completion of their unauthorized tear down it was released back to my wife in a condition unsuitable for use on public roadways….This shop is one of many shops that serve to perpetuate the stereotypes that plague the industry, and as long as they keep playing shop in this manner it only serves to drag the rest of the industry down.Lets have a quick chat for a moment about consent. If someone brings their vehicle to you for service it is reasonable and prudent to perform a Preventative Multipoint Inspection on the vehicle during the course of the requested service to make them apprised of any issues developing on the vehicle, and provide estimates for any repairs they express interest in. Just about anyone would consider this of value.What isn’t OK is to keep a car for over 45 mins to carry out an unsolicited and unapproved funding expedition during what was understood as a simple Texas State Emissions Inspection. With the recent change in law now only requires you to check readiness monitors and verify MIL status. You must seek and obtain explicit consent outside of the context in which the keys were presented. You do not have carte blanche with every vehicle that comes in the driveway to do whatever you want to it. My wife was positively mortified when your Service Advisor tried to upsell her front lower wishbones due to cracks in the bushings, when she saw in your furnished photos and video that all four wheels along with the undercarriage liners had been removed for your rack attack inspection.She should have been in and out in 5-10 minutes if you adhered to the state guidelines.Texas State Law prohibits upselling of unnecessary components during the course of State Inspections. Now obsolete Texas inspection code also calls for a visual inspection of the wheel assembly only, with no provision to permit an inspector to remove the wheel assembly from the vehicle. This in my opinion, aside from just generally slimy, constitutes willfully acting in direct disregard for the spirit of the law. I’d care a whole lot less if you had not damaged my property in your single minded pursuit of monetary gain… but that isn’t what happened.My vehicle was driven onto and lifted with a two post lift, without permission.Undercarriage liners were removed from my vehicle without permission.All four wheels were removed from my vehicle without my permission.A 3 foot long pry bar was wedged between my subframe and control arm, leaving tool marks behind to exert force on the suspension without my permission.All four wheels suffered scratch and chip damage to the finish on the faces and around each and every single lug bolt recess from incorrect socket use with an impact gun. There is a deepwell thin wall plastic lined socket in the trunk. (HAZET 903SLG-17) designed to prevent damage to these wheels when servicing. I only remove & install wheels on my vehicles with hand tools specifically chosen to ensure no damage occurs. By taking it upon yourselves to sloppily remove the wheels with impacts without seeking permission you have caused considerable cosmetic damage.All twenty lug bolts on the car were severely over-tightened. None were torqued to anything remotely resembling specification.The torque spec for the lug bolts on my car as specified by the manufacturer is 105 Nm. The least tight lug after leaving your facility was 182 Nm, with most being in the 200 Nm - 240 Nm range, with several well into the 300 Nm range and the tightest of them all being 342 Nm as measured with my Snap-On ATECH3FQ300B. With applied torque well in excess of three times the specification this hardware is EXPENDED and the vehicle will not be operated on public roadways until all twenty lugs are replaced at your expense.

They were nice but I feel like every time I go somewhere to have work done on my car, there are added expenses by the time I get to drive away- and this place wasn’t an exception. They explained everything to me and it made sense I guess, but it took a long time. I had coupons which was nice and I didn’t have to make an appointment.

I love it here! Everyone is so welcoming, they provide great details including pics and videos of what needs to be serviced and why, and the facility is very clean with a nice waiting area. I mean I could go on and on about this place! I highly recommend joining this auto family.

Awesome place to come and get your car serviced. They are always polite and friendly. They will get you in and out fast! I moved further away but still make the drive because they have the best service and deals to help people out. Waiting area is also really nice. Go see Anthony he will make sure youre taken care of!

Great experience. I brought my Nissan in for state inspection and these guys do a bumper-to-bumper inspection had no idea my water pump was leaking and I was about to drive it out of town. I did notice the temperature getting a little bit warmer than it normally does but thank God they caught it. Highly recommend. If I could give them 6 stars I would!

I recently took my car in for an oil change, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the process was completed much faster than I expected. The manager, Kevin Bratton, sent pictures of issues that were found upon the inspection of my vehicle and made recommendations for repairs to be done in the near future.I highly recommend this place for anyone in need of reliable vehicle services!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience here! My car battery went out while I was visiting Kingwood, Dan took great care of me! They stayed late in an attempt to get me back on the road, then discovered another issue that couldn’t be dealt with until the next day. Brendan gave me a ride to my mother in laws and they had the other issue dealt with before lunch the following day. Thank you so much! As a senior woman it can be daunting to take my car to be serviced. But the guys at Kingwood Tire and Automotive made my experience relaxing and convenient. While I was there getting an oil change, they also did my car inspection and I had a coupon for a free inspection for senior citizens! The service was fast, the waiting area comfortable with snacks and beverages and most importantly the additional repairs my car needed were explained to me with real time pictures sent to my phone. No upselling and I left with a sense that I found a car repair service that I can trust.

Went in today to get an oil change, after my mom went for her state inspection and had a wonderful experience. They were so quick, friendly, and the building is so nice! I have passed them for years, but never used them, until now. Going forward they will be my go to place. They didn’t try to up sell me on anything, which is always so nice!! The experience was a 10/10, and I recommend them to anyone for any service your vehicle needs! They do everything except body work!

JR was extremely helpful finding a solution for my problem. Waiting room was comfortable, they kept all of their customers updated with the status of their repairs throughout the visit. The fact that they open at 7AM is great as well.

Update: I Finally received a call from Justin the Area Operations Manager who offered up solutions and tried different things to resolve the situation. In the end, the mechanic Gods did not smile on us but Justin did all he could do. Then he did not charge me anything even after I offered the diagnostic and compression test fee.Was told vehicle needed full tune up for $2,200. Upon completion I was then informed it had a valve stuck open and a engine replacement would be the best route $10,000. I should have paid for a diagnostic and compression test, then decided what route to take at that point. Believed they were mechanics not just part changers. After a long discussion I asked Anthony if I could speak to the owner. He told me he was the owner. 2 weeks later he text me that the owner is inquiring about the vehicle. So which is it? All I want to do is speak to the owner. I offered to pay parts and labor at cost to make them whole but was told that wont happen. The reason we went there was great reviews. It pains me giving a bad review like this as you can see from my many good reviews. Just Imagine you agree to $2,200 to get a running vehicle and are expected to pay that same amount for a non running vehicle.

I had taken my kids Mini here for an inspection last year. It was a quick in and out, so I left a positive review. This past Friday, I was leaving a physical therapy appointment at a clinic around the corner and decided to run in for a quick State Inspection for my BMW X5. I walked in a little after 11 am and asked if they had time for an inspection, wanting to be considerate of lunch breaks. They said yes, but they did not ask me if I had time for them to do a multi-point inspection that I did not request or authorize. I handed them my insurance and my key and nothing was discussed.After I had been waiting for over 30 minutes, another customer came in, and they told her they could get her car in right away. I then wondered why were they not finished with mine (especially since Texas has changed inspections to be emissions only.) This customer who was walking with a cane saw me stretching my neck and rubbing my arm and noticed that I was in pain, but the staff was not observant of this. After another 10 minutes I approached the counter. I was going to ask for my key, to return another day, and the guy sat up and said It passed. Then he told me to check my texts for a link with photos and a video from my technician explaining issues they found with the vehicle. I was surprised at that comment, because my X5 receives regular maintenance at an upscale Euro shop. When the text finally came through, I was even more surprised that the photos showed they had removed all of the wheels from my vehicle and made markings. I said to him, I didnt know you were going to do a Rack Attack. He seemed surprised that I knew that term and said, We do that with every car that comes in. I knew the term because my husband works in the industry. (Now I understood why I had been waiting for 45 minutes.) He tried telling me verbally about parts that need to be replaced. I told him that my mechanic is aware of any issues with the vehicle (knowing that there were actually none). I was upset but tried not to show it as I do not like conflict, so I said Im kind of out of it today due to an injury. He then offered me a raffle entry if I leave a 5 star google review. I said no thanks. Then I paid for the inspection and left.I forwarded the link to my husband right away and he told me to go straight home and park the car so that he can do a thorough inspection of it that evening. He found that they had damaged all 4 wheels and severely overtightened all of the lug bolts with the wrong tool. He said the vehicle is unsafe to drive until he is able to order and replace the lug bolts. This leaves me without my vehicle for at least 4 days.What they did is unethical at best and illegal at worst. The State of Texas does not allow a shop to upsell on a state inspection, therefore I had no reason to believe this shop would take any actions on my vehicle other than a simple state inspection, as requested. I did not give my authorization or consent for them to put my car on a lift and remove the wheels, or manipulate parts to make them appear worn when they were not. I felt violated when I saw the photos.It is also against Google policies to offer any compensation in exchange for a positive review. They did this when I brought the Mini to them last year and they did it again on Friday. So all of these positive reviews you see, they are bought. This shop hires young untrained helpers who are not careful with your personal property. Do not trust them. Furthermore, my husband left a negative review over the weekend, and instead of reaching out to him or me, Kingwood Tire and Auto has contacted my husbands employer. Shady, shady, shady.

First time customer. Great experience! Took my son’s 2016 Jeep in for an oil change and a transmission fluid change. They gave the Jeep a good once over and sent me pictures of everything via text. Told me what needed attention soon and what can wait. No pressure or hard upsell and very fair on pricing. I’ll be going back for sure. Thanks guys.

Took my car in for a wheel alignment and some suspension work, they did a great job, were professional and got the job done on time. Definitely recommend and will be returning for any other repairs needed.

First time here based on their ratings. Will never be back. All I wanted today was an inspection since I had received a ticket for expired registration. I just spent money getting things checked and fixed in order to pass. They made me wait over an hour and they werent even busy. Then they informed me they couldnt pass it because of a power steering leak which is very slight and it was just filled. They told me my brakes were bad which I just had checked and some other ridiculous things. I am 56 years old and have been driving for many years and get an inspection every year. I have never experienced anything like this. Very disappointing and completely ridiculous!! I have lived in Kingwood since 1979 and was looking forward to trying them and was going to get some other stuff done too. Not anymore! Also I will make sure I let people know about my experience there

Came to have my brakes checked, only rear brakes needed to be replaced. Did thorough checkup of entire vehicle, all work done in less than 2 hours. Highly recommend!

They did a fantastic job getting a nail out of my tire. JR did a great job checking me in and making the process go quickly.Anthony went above and beyond to find the wheel lock.

It was my first time visiting. Staff in the office area were very nice and courteous. Waiting area is inviting, comfortable and clean. I arrived very close to closing but they still assisted me and completed my inspection efficiently. I’ll definitely return.

AMAZING!!!!!!!. I had a hard time finding someone to install a battery that apparently had to be programmed. After getting outrageous quotes I ran across this place which is actually a 8 min walk to my house!!!! They got me right in. Very professional and treated me like royalty. Lobby was extremely clean and comfortable with wifi, coffee, snacks, etc. 10/10. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!!

I came here for a simple oil change because I received a coupon in the mail….which they did not honor…they do NOT have coffee in the waiting room. I drove in with the windows down because the weather was nice and at that time there was no clicking noise, but as I was leaving the parking lot with my windows down after having my oil changed, (they rotated my tires) I hear a clicking noise which I thought at the time may have been a rock in my tire, but no, I was wrong. there was a screw that was screwed straight into the middle of my tire. On top of that a few weeks after having my oil change, my starter has mysteriously gone bad, which is right under my oil filter and it’s covered in oil. I will not be bringing my vehicle here again!

*WARNING DO NOT USE THIS SHOP*. They have been purchased by new owners and they are terrible to work with. I have spent thousands of dollars and still have two cars that are not repaired. When the issue was escalated to the CEO he had zero interest in actually resolving the problem. Don’t spend your money on their incompetence. They will suck you into a financial death spiral by fixing everything on your car except what needed to be fixed in the first place!

Another update, I had a sudden tragic loss in my family, so I had to sell my new used car to pay off the family member vehicle and take it over. Family member and I used Kingwood tire and auto so I informed them and asked they get the car I have as taking over in tip top shape. The guys did just that and gave me a secure feeling that they will keep an eye on my vehicle so I dont have to worry. I really like these fellas and I would adopt them all if I could. They made this portion of my grief a little lighter. You just dont find heart and great service together anymore.Update, more good info about this shop. When attempting warranty repair at humble hyundai, i met some issues with the check in service person tryi g to chrg me a diagnostic fee saying not a warranty issue, but contacting Dan Hart of this shop explained their diagnoses and pressed me to contact manager of service at hyundai. After Mgr was made aware, service at hyundai agreed with Dan after examining the car. I would not have had the courage to press had it not been for this support. When you know your skills, you back them up, and i thank Dan for backing me up on this.Update nov 2024, requesting some detailed billing for a warranty situation. Awesome summary of vehicle diagnostics and response to include clear pictures. I really like this not only to submit to warranty or insurance claims but also my own records too. Totally effecient!Great lobby, friendly staff, no price gouging, can set appt online, nice location. My new home for my car.Update 11/11/2024 is still the best place to take your car. Ive gotten a newer used vehicle and received the same great service. They checked it over for me and made sure it was a safe vehicle. Its important to have a business you can trust and depend on. This crew is amazing! I had my engine overheat at midnight on Friday driving home from the airport and had to leave on the side of the road. On Saturday they were the only shop open and they squeezed me in and were able to address the issues and get me back on the road by 1pm same day. Awesome service and now have a loyal customer! Came in with the need for new tires. I was impressed with this place. I’ve been in places in the past where they are not honest and try to sell things I didn’t need. This place will spend time with you explaining everything and show photos. They are very honest and you can trust them. This will be my new go to!

WOW! This is the BEST repair shop I have been to since coming to Houston 4 years ago! Honest, knowledgeable mechanics and Gina at the front desk is AMAZING!! I moved away from the Kingwood area and have tried other repair shops closer to my new apartment, but the others just do not stack up to the service and reliability I receive at KINGWOOD TIRE AND AUTOMOTIVE. This place has ALWAYS been my go to guys for maintenance/repair issues on my Honda snowflake. Came in last time with an input shaft problem and left with a complete ball bearing draining and adjustment! If you are a remote worker, you can get work done in their spacious lounge area with free wifi. They have free snacks, water, some comfortable recliner chairs to sit in. Arrived on time for 10AM and was promptly greeted and logged in. Gave my keys and relaxed with a good up of coffee and a snack in a comfortable chair and internet access. Noticed car was taken in quickly and technician started immediately Service was done quickly .Very happy with service and friendly facilities. Would recommend to anyone needing oil change or inspection service.

The shop was quick and thorough and have my struts taken care of within a couple of hours. Ill be bringing my car back again to get more work done when needed.

New in kingwood and found a gem here. The shop is awesome. First they make you feel welcome. Their facilities are great and professional. Came for a state inspection and it was free. Definitely the place I’ll keep bringing my car every time I need to.

Very dissapointed in a shop visit by a family member.they were told an air filter and cabin filter were needed,when the shop never bothered to physically check either one ,family member had logged that both filters were replaced within the last 1 1/2 years.air filter would have required About 7 bolts,hoses and panels removed to be checked .other questionable repair items were also noted.

Even though my car didn’t pass the first inspection they worked with me on what was wrong/replacing items and told me once everything was replaced they could reinspect my car. I was supposed to bring it back the next day but was unable to, but I will be taking it back to get reinspected ASAP.

According to your website, Kingwood Tire and Auto operates business with honesty and integrity; to those you should add accountability and excellence. I moved to Tx recently from NC; my only regret in moving here is not having my mechanic from NC who operates with honesty, integrity, accountability and excellence. Kingwood Tire and Auto replaced my A/C compressor on August 21st 2024; I was happy with the repairs until I decided to take a trip to The Woodlands Mall two days afterwards. While driving there, I noticed my vehicle beginning to overheat. I pulled over and discovered the hose between my radiator and the coolant reservoir was not connected. Unfortunately, Kingwood forgot to reconnect it. Thankfully, I had a case of water in the trunk of my car from Hurricane Beryl; I reconnected the hose and refilled my radiator with water. Kingwood Tire and Auto sent me three follow-up messages to confirm my satisfaction with their service. I informed them of my dissatisfaction. The 3rd and final message was sent by Justin, operations manager, to find out when I would be available to “discuss” the matter. I informed him of my availability, I haven’t received a call, text or email to “discuss” this matter. In essence, Kingwood Tire and Auto doesn’t have to worry about me crossing their threshold again. Their biggest mistake was not being accountable after making the mistake. We all make mistakes; however, honesty, integrity, excellence and accountability are all key components in ensuring a positive customer experience, even when mistake(s) are made.

Kingwood Tire and Automotive provides unparalleled customer service! We had a car with a dead battery. Mark walked me through how to jump my car and while I got the car started and over to the shop, he had a new battery ordered and ready to install! I showed up and the battery was installed in no time. This happened all in advance of an upcoming hurricane. I sure do appreciate their quick action and reasonable prices! Thanks again for the great service. I will be bringing my cars back for future repairs!

Brought my truck in for broken motor mounts and a nail in my front tire. Mentioned the nail MULTIPLE times to a service writer named Anthony. Took an uber to pick my truck up on my lunch break and the nail was still in the tire. I was told I could take my truck and come back Saturday morning so they could do the plug and patch. So he would try to get me in but they’re booked.Kingwood tire and auto does not pay attention to detail. They saw that big total on the bill and ran with it.Pro tip kingwood tire and auto - make sure to take care of the customer or make it right when brought to your attention.Steer clear of this place if you don’t want to over pay and still have issues.6k for motor mounts, ball joints, brake fluid flush, rear shocks,and a few other minor repairs…and I still have a nail in my tire.Edit: kingwood tire and auto tried contacting me AFTER I wrote this review. They had no interest in rectifying the situation when I called to explain it.

He was as well as the other staff ever so friendly, kind and truly concerned about my vehicle. Top notch mechanic! The lobby was first class with free amenities and so comfortable!! This was the first time at Kingwood Tire and Auto. I just needed an oil change. They were running a little behind, but it still took less than an hour. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, and music was playing, which was nice. They had coffee and snacks available, also a nice little perk.They were kind, patient and helpful to everyone who came in. It was a good experience overall and Ill use them again.

It was my first time coming to this location. I usually have my brother in law do my oil changes but I didn’t want to burden him this time, plus I needed a tire rotation AND there was a great coupon for a Full synthetic oil change. I decided to try it out, since it’s in the neighborhood as well. Anthony Pete set up my appointment, and when I got in, he let me know in advance that they were swamped with work so it could be a while, and offered me transportation to my home. All in all, it took about 4 hours for my oil change and tire rotation to be done, but to be honest I was ok with the wait times. The professionalism and honesty Anthony showed was greatly appreciated! The place itself is really nice inside as well. Thank you Kingwood Auto for a job well done! I will recommend this location to all my friends and colleagues.

I have been having car problems for months and the Nissan dearlership kept telling me nothing was wrong. I took a chance on this shop and they immediately found the problem and was able to fix it within a day. Amazing customer service!Update! I went back for my state inspection and they took care of me 100% can not recommend these guys enough.Had some battery issue and they handled it quickly and had me back on the road in no time.

Horrible service! Waited 2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation, even though I made an appointment. Right after leaving, I noticed my car making a loud sound when accelerating and my steering wheel shaking while driving. I checked under the hood when I got home and noticed they left the air filter cover unattached work all the screws missing except for 1 that was not even screwed down properly. They also did not top off any of my fluids, or check the air pressure in my tires. I took my vehicle back and it took them 5 hours to put some random screws back, since they probably lost the original ones, still didnt top off fluids, or check the tire pressure, even after I pointed out to them! I will never be going back! Do NOT waste your time here. I should not have tell them how to do their job and then still have them not do it!

I made an appointment for an oil change and to check engine for possible flooding issues . All was well and the price was right. They could have chosen to be greedy charge me for additional issues that weren’t there. They are honest, good working people.

Was able to get an appointment for the next day the were well priced. They were able to get both front rotors and breaks changed, the same day! The service was great! They even drove me back to my office before I could be late from lunch.

I got an inspection done here. It took about an hour I think but not only did they give it to me for free, they noticed my front license plate was missing a bolt and was trying to come off and they fixed it. They also gave us free snacks and water. Overall a great experience.

These guys are great. I have used them for my tire and alignment needs for years and they have always delivered reliable and friendly service. My most recent visit (10/17/23) was equally pleasant. Super service! We drove in from Atlanta for a family visit, and had car trouble. Went to Kingwood Auto early on Saturday morning, needed a new alternator and battery. They were finished up and had the car ready in about 4 hours. Cant be happier! Nice to find a place with great service.

This place is amazing! It has been hard to find a good and honest mechanic. I’ve had many terrible experiences but this place I will always come back to and recommend to everyone they are all so nice and they charged me almost HALF of what I was quoted by another place. They even have a shuttle service for people that don’t have a way to get home to wait for repairs, their lobby is super nice and comfortable.

I was trying to get my vehicle ready for a trip in July. Brought it in for a brake check and alignment. As expected, new brakes were needed as well as rear shocks. The team was very thorough and they were able to complete all work that day!

I called many places for a quote for an oil change for my fiat and it was always $120 ish. Kingwood auto and tire (I spoke with Mark) quoted me $95. They changed the oil, rotated and filled tires, and gave a free state inspection all in about an hour! I was prepared to leave my car overnight because they looked busy. They charged exactly what was quoted and didnt try to upsell me on unnecessary repairs that I can’t afford. Great customer service, very happy with them and will be returning for any repair needs in the future!

1st issue - All the five star reviews are misleading. They ask that you leave a google review for a chance to win a credit or gift card or something like that when picking up the vehicle. I hadn’t even driven it yet to know if I was satisfied with their work.2nd issue - I had to return because the problem wasn’t corrected from the first diagnosis. Of course, the first time cost me about $1,000. The quote to repair the actual issue was about $2,500, which I declined.3rd issue - The multipoint inspection left my cabin air filter reinstalled incorrectly. I noticed an unusual noise from it and when I checked, it was mashed up. Photo included. While this isn’t a major issue, I don’t like getting my car back from a shop with new problems.On a positive note, the staff was pleasant to work with and their facility is pretty nice. Unfortunately I won’t trust them with my vehicle maintenance any more.Just sharing my experience for others to consider. I hope you have better luck than me if you choose to see them.

So I brought them my van to fix the engine light and tire pressure light. After 4 days of having my van, they charged me $700 and told me it was done. I went and picked it up only to find that BOTH lights are still on and I’m out $700. After investigating… they tell me the engine light never even got addressed, they want me to pay another $800 to fix that and they’re all scratching their heads on why the tire light is still on. Still considering using Kingwood Tire & Auto?! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND A LOCAL DUDE THAT DOES THE WORK IN HIS SHOP BEHIND HIS HOUSE. They’re honest, don’t cheat you out of your hard earned money, and get the work done in a timely fashion. This establishment is a SCAM.

The team was very nice and made sure that everyone was comfortable in the waiting room. They took my concerns with my alignment and other services and only did what was required. They did not want to overcharge anyone and were very professional, great service and I will be back!

Went here early Saturday morning to get a tire repaired from a nail. Was greeted by a surly guy that seemed like he didnt want to help at all. I was told it would be a long wait due to other customers having appointments at 7. It was after 7 and no one else was there so I guess all the customers with appointments were running late. I promptly left and took my business elsewhere and got the problem sorted within about 30mins at a different shop. Would not recommend 👎

Quick service. Edit: In hindsight, so quick they forgot to put the car back together and left my engine air filter cover rattling around. At the second visit, they put it back for free, so thats something.They pay their people well, hopefully. An air filter and install cost double than that of Valvolines shop.Of course they might have to charge more to offset the inventory issues that seem to plague their business. At least 3 instances of the system saying they have something, and then its not there, and a case of a miss boxed item, all in the afternoon I was there.They recommended changing the battery out half way through its 3 year lifespan, offering the tactic itll probably fail in the next week or two. They have a $75 installation fee, by the way, for batteries. 2 Auto parts stores and another mechanic later and the unanimous consensus is the battery is fine, dont replace it. The other mechanic added itll be another year or two before its time to think about replacing it. Weird, right?A second shop did agree I needed my brakes done, but they charged $200 less. So I opted to pay less.Oh and the 5 star rating is inflated with offerings of discounts if we do it in front of them.

As a female, 67 years old, I have been to many shops and have been charged for issues that my vehicle never had. This shop was beyond my expectations. It would take too long to explain my vehicle issues so I’ll only say this, to all the single women, young and old, you can completely trust Goodyear Kingwood & Auto, who are Independently owned and not a Corporate business. You’ll be glad you did! A1 plus more!

They have taken care of all my vehicles since 2018. The new owners are working hard to maintain the level of service and have really updated the facilities. Competitive pricing and honest assessment, I have heard them tell folks when they would find a better deal elsewhere! Who does that nowadays? Give them a try for all your automotive needs! Sorry to say this, but obviously, profit is on the first place for this shop, because of that 3 stars. Diagnostics also not good, and that suppose to be number 1 in every mechanic shop. I came with one problem, they gave me a list of things that needed to be fixed, estimated at 3000+$. I went to different mechanics, also not that good but ready to listen, and they fixed problem for 300$. Cranck Start Sensor on 2016 Kia Soul.

I accidentally deleted my other review - but it essentially said how amazing they are for understanding we’re people and need things last minute (a state inspection) and that I would be back!When I said in my other review “I’ll be back!” I meant it. My car started making a weird noise last week, I was only able to make an appt for 4/20. So I sent a text and asked if they could look at it on 4/13. I got a call first thing in the morning 4/13 saying “bring it in!” Like come on, A+ customer service!!! And although the issue couldn’t be duplicated when they test drove it, I was told to come back when I could drive it with them and further investigate. Seriously they go the extra 10 miles and it’s a breath of fresh air. I asked last minute “well for peace of mind could I at least get an oil change” (my car crapped out due to an issue with my oil back in October 2023 to explain the peace of mind statement) and they did it no problem even though it was like 40 minutes before they closed on a Saturday. When I tell you this is the best place to take your car, with people who truly care and will give you a laugh along the way and do what’s best for YOU. I mean it!!

I made an appointment to get my car looked at at 10am. The car was dropped off and was told that it would be looked at and would take at least 2 hrs to do a diagnostic. The car was not looked at until 12 noon and was only half diagnosed at 4pm.

I used Kingwood tire and auto a few times when I first moved to Kingwood in 2000 but hadn’t been here for at least 10 years. It’s amazing how clean the lobby and bathroom are and listening to explanations of others vehicles definitely gave me comfort of the integrity. I’ll be back! I highly recommend it!

No charge diagnosis of electric issues even though I did the repair myself

We are very happy with our car. It is a 2009 Hyundai wich we recently .purchesed. Kingwood Tire and Auto replaced the ac unit and it is cooling very well. I received fast, friendly, and excellent service. Their waiting room is one of the best waiting rooms I have ever seen. They have snacks, relaxing chairs, beautiful fireplace, and soft music. I almost felt like I was at the spa. Waiting for your car can be boring and exhausting, but this place is so relaxing you could take a nap. I came here because I received a mailer for a free emissions test. I will definitely be back for other services just for the ambience.

The location is very clean and spacious which was a huge plus as I had two toddlers with me. The bathroom was large and very clean. Large comfy chairs in the waiting room. They also provided snacks and drinks. This is a very different from what I usually experience at a mechanic.The wait time wasn’t too bad and the employees were very nice and professional. Will definitely be back whenever I need more work done again.

Drop off people who live close.When I first called about tires with rims the shop owner was honest and told me he couldnt get me this online deal and Id have better luck going to discount tire.After getting one loose tire fixed, it turned out I needed all the tires and sitting too long my car wouldnt start.I told them I need to do things in stages, but the goal was reliability.They broke down what I needed to do with my car in price stages based on urgency.They didnt replace my battery or alternator which, they totally could a sold me on needing, and after they told me the flushes needed I thought about how I had been wondering if it seemed not normal , but I ignored it cause what was normal like? I dont remember. .. .Getting my car back, running so much better, I feel entirely comfortable taking my car here as a woman and knowing Im going to get just what is actually needed and plan to go back for the follow up maintenance through the rest of the year.Also I got road tire insurance , took my car at 7 am cause my tire light was going off and they checked it super quick and said come back when I had more time if there were any issues, I think i was out in under 30 minutes.Apologies in advance if I am overly paranoid/excited about the tires/ insurance and yall see me too much for a bit.Thank you all so much! I recently was pleasantly surprised when I took my car in for an oil change. It seemed that the last several places I went always seemed to find something wrong or overcharged me. I decided to go back to what used to be the Goodyear Tire Company behind Steinmart. I had liked them, but was unsure of the new owners. Not only did I get a fair price for my oil change and tire rotation, I was told I needed a new coolant system. My thinking was that the estimate for everything would be about $1,000. To my surprise, it was approximately $300! I was shocked! The work was well done and I had a plan in case they tried to tell me anything was wrong as far as the car ran. The coolant need I understood given this past summer. I’m so happy to to be “home” again with even better than expected service and results. These are honest people who don’t try to inflate the value of a job.. Take your car there. You’ll be glad you did!

What a great place to bring your car or truck. John and Anthony provided the best customer service. Waiting area is exceptionally clean and comfortable and there is a very nice outside patio area. Highly recommend!!

This place is awesome! I have been in a few times, oil change, tire rotation and even new brakes. The inside has completely been done and it’s so cool 😎! New floors, comfy chairs, and very relaxing blues/ jazz music! Nice and friendly people too!!Came in for oil change with new car and love the vibe of this place! You don’t feel like you’re in a car place. Friendly workers and fair prices too!!❤️

Great service! Front desk staff are very friendly and I was in and out in 15 min (state inspection)! Another plus is their very inviting waiting room! They have comfortable loungers and drinks and snacks for customers! Love it!

John and Mark helped me with a tire rotation and oil change. They were wonderful! The store was immaculate and my son loved the fireplace, sky lights overhead, and snacks. Best experience while waiting for some car maintenance.

This place was great. I had to take my car in for an oil change and also had to bring my little girl with me. The lobby was so comfortable and cozy and we enjoyed some coffee and snacks while we waited. Overall the service was spectacular, fast and friendly. I would recommend. They also had a great special going on- half off an oil change and free state inspection is a BIG win! Bring your coupon if you got one in the mail! 🏁

We had a great experience at Kingwood Tire and Auto. The waiting area is so comfortable and there are drinks and snacks. We will definitely be coming back for our auto service and repairs.

I heard about this place via an ad that we received in the mail. We set an appointment and we’re kindly greeted and waited on. The entire experience was wonderful. They worked fast and diligently on our vehicle. We are very happy with the service we received! Will be back!

Got their 40th anniversary mailer ad for a free state inspection and to our complete shock it was no gimmicks, legit free without other purchase required! They were very friendly, and super quick. Even though there were a ton of cars there my husband and I barely had time to run to the nursery nextdoor for a few herbs when they called saying it was ready. They noted our car was nearing its 30k mileage needed services and kindly listed the services and their prices for us on the invoice so we could schedule when ready and know exactly how much it would be already (and theyre way cheaper than the dealership, Ill tell you that!). They have comfortable seating in their clean lobby with electric fireplace, and the seating even has fold out laptop tables if you want to wait there but need to get a little work done. They also offer complimentary coffee, drinks, and snacks, as well as both dog AND cat treats! Anyways, we will definitely be giving them our business in the future!!! Keep up the great work! Just visited them again, and STILL excellent service!!!!! 10/10!!!
