Renowned Heating and Air Conditioning

They installed a new heat pump for me last year. I have now had to call them out three times to fix it, including twice when they failed to install proper drainage for my A/C, causing it to drain into the floor of my attic - the second time causing a large section of my ceiling to collapse. I also had to convince them to come that night to make sure water wouldn’t continue to leak into my house - they wanted to wait until they could get me on the schedule sometime the next day. The owner ended up coming over, and he talked about all the money his company makes and how he has a platinum American Express card and then offered me $1000 dollars for my “inconvenience” and to “keep me off social media,” which he never paid. It was extremely inconvenient because I had to take off work for several days for them to come out for service calls and their contractor could make repairs. I tried to be understanding despite the owner lying about compensating me for my inconvenience.The final straw was that I had to call them out when we got frigid temperatures and the owner himself came to the service call and did not remember the massive incident not even a year prior and said they had to set up the emergency heat because “someone” didn’t install it correctly. I informed them that it was them. Their company didn’t install it correctly. Apparently he did not recall being in my house with water and insulation everywhere less than six months earlier. They still charged me $50 for the service call. when they installed the unit, they also failed to advise me that the thermostats I wanted to install would require me to get up in the attic every time it got really cold and manually turn on emergency heat, even though I asked if those were okay for this system and the technician said yes. Bottom line their work sucks, and the owner is erratic and dishonest.

This company did it again. The few times weve had to reach out to them, theyve been extremely responsive and polite. The technicians that show up are very nice, and knowledge. Theyll explain the issue in terms thats very easy to understand. The two times weve had to call them because of an issue that we desperately needed someone ASAP, they have always shown up before the time window given. Weve used them for our maintenance, and well continue to use them. I always try to refer Renowned when I can. Thank yall so much for getting our AC back up and running in this 105° heat!!!

Our personal experience with Renowned Heating & Air Conditioning, owned by Tim and Angie, was disastrous from start to finish. Their work was plagued by constant equipment failures, repeated service visits, and a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. We endured more time without A/C than with it. Initially, we hired Renowned to install two high-efficiency HVAC systems, but it quickly turned into a nightmare of frustration and stress. We were fortunate our home didn’t catch fire due to their negligence—details below.The issues began immediately. One of the brand-new systems failed on the day of installation. Renowned replaced it entirely, something we expected would never be necessary for at least 10–15 years. This marked the beginning of endless failures, with both units experiencing major component issues within the first 30 days. Renowned replaced no fewer than five inverter boards and a compressor during this time. Despite assurances that each repair would solve the problem, the systems failed repeatedly, exposing their inability to properly diagnose and resolve issues. Later, two reputable local HVAC companies confirmed Renowned’s inexperience with these modern units.The installation quality was appallingly poor. Renowned failed to install slopes correctly, reused outdated equipment, discarded functional parts critical to other HVAC systems, omitted essential components from the new setup, and even ran incorrect voltage wiring. Shockingly, a high-voltage wire was left ungrounded, causing one of the boards to turn brown. No surge protection was installed at the service disconnects, float switches were wired incorrectly, drain pans were hung improperly, plenums lacked support, and the lineset was kinked at both the evaporator coil and condenser. These issues are just the tip of the iceberg.Tim and his technicians made frequent visits, offering endless promises but no results. For over a month, we endured weekly service calls, spending countless hours following up, only to receive short-term fixes instead of reliable solutions. In North Texas, dependable A/C is essential, especially for families with children, yet we were forced to rely on portable window units due to their incompetence.Renowned consistently failed to document our problems or show any empathy. Tim appeared annoyed by our repeated repair requests, even though the issues stemmed directly from their poor installations and were still under warranty. Eventually, they stopped responding altogether, leaving us without functioning A/C upstairs or downstairs. After five days without any response, we gave up. The manufacturer, embarrassed by Renowned’s work, retrieved the equipment. We hired a reputable HVAC installer in Keller to replace the systems, and they have performed flawlessly ever since.Adding insult to injury, the manufacturer and local distributor attempted multiple times to contact Tim about the ongoing issues, but he ignored their calls. Another former Renowned customer later shared that she and her neighbor experienced nearly identical problems with the company. This suggests a pattern of subpar service and incompetence.When I sought to resolve the matter amicably by requesting a refund and asking Tim to remove the equipment, he dismissively replied, “If it goes to court, it goes to court.” This response epitomized their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction.To make matters worse, Renowned failed to pull the required city permit until I insisted on an inspection after the installations were completed.In summary, Renowned Heating & Air Conditioning delivers broken promises, poor installations, unreliable repairs, and terrible customer service. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I strongly advise taking your business elsewhere.

Highly recommend! Cory came over, got the problem diagnosed as the thermostat. I decided to replace it with a Nest, and he even made sure I knew how to install the wires before he left. Would recommend to anyone!

Let me start by saying the staff was amazing. However, we had them out for our AC not working. The technician didnt take anything apart just stuck a wand thing near it and said we needed a new system. I asked several times if it could be a part that needed replaced and was told no. We got a second opinion and they took the unit apart and said there is no leak at all and it was a simple and cheap part that needed to be replaced to get the AC to actually cool down. On top of that the Renowned guy bent the bars on the outside unit by hanging his tools from it. The second company fixed that for free. If a new unit is needed thats fine but at least troubleshoot and look to make sure thats really the issue. I was 3 days away from dropping 3 grand for absolutely no reason. Its a shame because I loved the customer service.

WOW! Okay, Jake was SO helpful, quick and kind. He got our heater fixed when it went out, made sure our part was warrantied and didn’t overcharge for labor like we have had in the past from other companies. He was so awesome and I can’t say enough good things about this company. From booking us when I called and texted to communicate to the service. Amazing. Will always recommend thank you Jake!!!

We are glad we tried out this company. They are responsive and reliable. We had an A/C issue last year and our home warranty company recommended us to a company that overcharged us and didn’t fix the issue. When we called Renowned Heating and Air, they immediately knew the issue and told us our options on what would be best for us in the long-run. So when our heat went out (different unit) during the winter we called our warranty company (again) and had their recommended company come out twice with no resolution (they couldn’t figure out what was wrong). We call Renowned, and they knew what to do to resolve the issue. We will be using them from now on, and we recommend you should give them a try too! It’s better to have a reliable company who does good work then be tossed around with random companies who don’t do work well, which is why we decided to cancel our home warranty and rely on this company for our heating and air needs.

Great customer service and quality work. AC went out in new home and our home warranty company could not get anyone out to us for weeks. We found Renowned and they came out the next day, checked our system, found the issue and fixed it that same day. Quick and good work. Will use them again!

They came after I had gotten a quote from another company for A/C repair. The first company misdiagnosed the problem & the repair quoted by Renowned was less than half the price we originally thought it would be to fix our A/C. We ended up going with a new unit, but they made sure we had air during the few days we had to wait before the first available installation appointment available. I couldn’t be happier with their service and professionalism! They were quick to respond when I called them on Sunday night & showed up at the beginning of the appointment time window the following day. I only wish I would have called them first vs the other guys!

Warning! Do not use Renown for HVAC repair-I had used Renown twice before but only for HVAC system checkups.Recently had to have a Blower Motor in my heating system replaced. I called Renown and they sent out the owners son. He verified it needed a new Blower Motor and gave me a price for replacement . I felt the price was too high but had him go ahead and replace it. My mistake!After the fact I contacted several HVAC contractors and parts suppliers to get an idea of the cost of the part and labor. Turns out I was excessively overcharged. The job should have been done for half of what I was charged. In hindsight I should have had the tech-Jake- put the cover back on and just pay him for coming out and get a second estimate. The weather was still nice and it wasnt an emergency. I do not recommend Renown Heating & Air as they excessively overcharge.

Amazing people and an amazing company. I have used them many times. The night my husband passed away, my ac went out and I called Angie at 11pm in a hysterical panic. She was so kind and they walked me through some trouble shooting steps for a temp fix. Tim was at my door first thing the next morning to save the day. I can never thank them enough for taking care of my so quick in the worst day of my life. They are truly the BEST!

BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT USE RENOWNED HEATING & AIR.They installed an entirely new unit in our home 2 years ago in July. July 20th our compressor went out. We first contact our home warranty company who would not repair the compressor because it was still under manufacture warranty. We called Renowned since they had done the original install. They installed a new compressor on a Friday. Our AC never worked. We came home to a 90 degree house. I called them and they couldn’t get anyone back out until Monday afternoon. We had another company come out Sunday & determined that the install was done improperly & the brand new compressor had already failed. Renowned had not changed the AC drier during install, nor do they flush the lines which causes bad sludge to ruin your system. Renowned came out Monday & said they were ordering a new compressor to be installed the following Tuesday because it was a bad compressor not faulty work. I asked for a phone call before they arrived on Tuesday. They didn’t call me until they had supposedly done the repair. I arrived home to find out they had only replaced the AC drier hoping that would fix the issue rather than coming back with the 2nd compressor as promised. It failed and we had to wait longer for the promised compressor to arrive. When questioned during install about flushing the lines they said they don’t do that. 3 days later the 2nd brand new compressor they installed failed again. We had 3 different companies come out to give us a quote to fix their bad workmanship. All 3 licensed companies determined they did a bad install and they caused irreparable damages to our entire unit which lead us to have to purchase an entirely new unit. We were displaced from our home a total of 19 days. This company stole $1400 from us with their poor workmanship plus thousands more with the hotels, new unit, etc that we had to pay for. Run & don’t let them steal your money.

I will echo what most are saying here, and have had the same experiences. Ive used them Id say at least 3 times or so and each time the experience has been fantastic. They will go out of their way to not sell you something you dont need. On top of that they will give you a very detailed technical explanation as to why you DO need whatever it is you need to fix the issue at hand. They have earned my trust time and time again.

Great people to work with! Angi is always helpful and knowledgeable when determining a problem. Tim and Matt show up when they say they will. They are very honest about the work that needs to be done. I would highly recommend them for any of my clients (Im a Realtor) and I use them for my personal homes as well.

We think very highly of this family owned/run business. The owner, his sons and the rest of his employees really are knowledgeable but more importantly, just nice people. The owners wife will typically answer the phone to book service. This is a wonderful small business who deserves our support - they certainly have mine!

Great service, Tim is always willing to answer your questions and he gives fair pricing. A couple of years after a coil replacement my thermal expansion valve started malfunctioning and he came out and fixed it the same day. All parts and labor were covered under warranty.

I called renowned heating and ac yesterday!! It was our first time, but wont be our last. Called at 11:30 and the very nice tech was at our house atb12:45. He fixed the issue in no time flat. The tech was very polite, and knowledgeable!

Every time I call renowned heating and air they treat me like a real customer. They do not try to sell me something I do not need and will work to fix the issue first, rather than the expensive repair. If I was alive back in the 50s this is what I would think a repair llperson was, hint someone that trys to repair your stuff, not get you to buy something new. continue to call them with all my heating and cooling needs.

This company is completely crooked! They were suppose to service our AC unit and come to find out they did nothing. We had another company come out and showed us that this company didn’t even open our units to check them. Their was a leak in our system and they didn’t catch it. We are our more money because of their negligence! Stay away from this company!!!

You can call Renowed Heating and Air Conditioning without giving a second thought, when it comes to taking care of your AC system. I had called them for my house on Fiddlers trail in Keller and they took care of my request immediatley. Tim, Angie and Matt are absolutely fabulous to work with. They are an example for others to follow.
