The tellers are quick and efficient. But if you have other needs and have to deal with the service reps, they work slower than paint drying and will send everyone to lunch break at once. No sense of urgency whatsoever. I despise lack of efficiency, it’s so incompetent to me. People have things to do and business to handle.

Ive been to this branch several times, and its always something. Often times, the ATMs are out of service. And when you go inside, there is usually a long wait. If youre going during the weekend, there is really no guarantee that you will be able to get anything done, since the ATMs are unreliable.

I am updating my review based on a conversation with the branch manager. She took the time to explain the reasons behind the empty cubicles, long lines, and extended wait times. While I appreciate the explanation, the fact remains that the wait time is unacceptable and needs to be addressed. I understand that unforeseen circumstances occur, but having almost 50% of the staff absent is concerning. When multiple people consistently report the same issue with a business, it indicates a recurring problem. The key issue here is that response times and wait times must be significantly improved.As a result, I have adjusted my rating from one star to three stars.”

Be prepared to wait over 30 mins if you need to speak with a banker/ loan rep. It appears they sit and chat it up with customers. When I sit down I always say “theres other people waiting, I need to get this done asap” I don’t appreciate small talk and I respect other ppls time. I wish they did. Don’t have me in here for a second longer than I absolutely need to be! Strongly dislike coming in here.

Wonderful bank. We have been with them for 7 years and my wife even longer. They serve active military, retired military and their families. They have competitive loan rates, IRAs, and much more. We have never had a problem with Navy Federal. We love them! We recommend them to you!!!

Writing this review in hopes it reaches the right audience or NFCU Manager. I came in for a new debit card that takes less than a minute to print out. I waited in the lobby as instructed and after almost an hour passed a different employee came up to me asking if I’d been helped because I was the only one sitting in the lobby after multiple customers had been helped. It turns out the guy at the front desk forgot to press print the whole time and then printed it in less than a minute and then I went on my way. All I got was an apology and a thank you for my patience. Almost an hour of my day was wasted. This issue could’ve been avoided if this staff member was more attentive to the fact that I was the only one sitting in the lobby for almost an hour. I will say the staff were extremely friendly and professional. I happen to overhear the great customer service going on as I waited almost a whole hour in the lobby.

Truly disappointed with an establishment that claims to work in the best interest of military personnel and their families and fails to do so, and not just marginally. Basic decency would dictate, when a very clearly disabled veteran patrons the credit union, offer a comfortable place to sit, be attentive and helpful. This should be commonplace, for all to experience, but most certainly for those who have sacrificed so much; far more than the average civilian could possibly understand.

I use to really be happy with navy federal but lately the service has been AWFUL! Nobody seems to know policy and procedures. I have not only called but been to branch twice and still don’t have something so simple down due to staffing not knowing. Pretty sad. Also anytime you go to branch theres a solid ten plus people waiting because there is only two-three people ever working at a time so the waits generally greater than 20 minutes. Really disappointing anymore.

*updated below*Should have read the reviews. Only one person working and 6 people waiting. Several of them left after waiting over 30 min. I guess you only have to help 1/4 of the people if you left the other 3/4 leave in disgust. Very disappointed.The wait was too long but the representative who helped me was very friendly and knowledgeable. I do recommend this branch but make sure you budget plenty of time.

So I went to this location a couple of weeks ago. I receive unhelpful and rude service from the Assistant Manager. He made every excuse not to help me, and treated me badly. I left there in tears. A friend advise me to go to Cypress location. Immediately the Manager at Cypress, Katrina apologies and said I dont see why he couldnt assist you. She solved the problem. Thanks Katrina and Jeff. Please investigate your rude Assistant Manager in Katy. I should have received the same help at both locations.

This is one star for the branch and the back office security. I am a very loyal customer to Navy. So their antics left a bad taste in my mouth. I went into the branch to make two cashiers check deposits. The teller told me how long the hold would be for both. Today I get an email from their security Department saying that they were putting a 5 day business hold on both deposits. No problem there. The issue arose when I logged into my account to see that it had a negative balance 😡. My account was positive BEFORE I made the deposits. After spending 20 minutes on the phone with their support team it resulted in the same mess. I understand what youre saying sir but theres nothing I can do about this. It is handled by security. I cannot transfer you to security. That was Robert who said hes a supervisor at the call center. So I decided to go to the branch since Robert couldnt transfer me to them either. The branch manager tells me the whole story about the branch placing a hold and then the security placed a hold. She then tells me that I can call the number that was in the email (didnt really that there is only one number for everything) to speak with security. This was after I shared with her that Robert told me they cant transfer me to security. So I took her suggestion and spent another 37 minutes on the phone to be spoken to very rude by Vincent (another supervisor at the call center). He even said that the branch people got it wrong when they told me I could call the number and speak with their security department. I waited for the branch manager to return from lunch. She came back and told me that she had other things to handle and would not be available to assist me for at least 45 minutes. Leaving the branch was my best option at that point. You all should be ashamed that you can turn someones account into negative and the only option you provide is oh well release it at midnight when our system updates. Again holding the deposits were fine but holding more than what was deposited is ridiculous.

Navy federal as an organization is useless.Average wait time when you call their 1888 number is 25 minutes. Only to be told that whoever picked up your call can’t help…. “We have to transfer you to someone else who knows what they are doing” They will ask if you want to hang up and they will put you in “Que”to be called after 25 minutes. Don’t select that. If you do the machine will tell you they will call you in 60minutes then it hangs up.DO NOT USE THEIR ZELLE SERVICES!!!! They won’t release your funds until the next business day!!!! Red tape after red tape after red tape . You can’t even send yourself cash at another institution. But they have no problem receiving your cash from that institution. Man I thought Bank of America was horrible. Navy Federal takes horrible to a whole other dimension.

I just want to tell you Kevin in customer service did a excellent job negotiating the best deal for our car purchase. He went above and beyond, when we thought we had a good deal. He made a call and found us an even lower percentage rate. I just want to say thank you for looking out for our family. Have a blessed year! Never had issues with customer service at this bank but please be warned, there is a history of jugging happening here.I was a victim of jugging here on 9 June 2023, my sister was also a victim of such crime last month. The bank does not respond if you ask for cooperation with local PD. Overall Jugging in Houston/Katy is at an all time high. Please never go to this bank alone, always in pairs and be vigilant when entering the parking lot for any sketchy vehicles or persons.

The bank manager is petty and likes to play games and waste peoples time the bank is understaffed and it doesnt have enough tellers for being the only Navy Federal for the city of KatyThis is an update to the comment below.That statement was asinine Youre always going to need branch visits for a variety of reasons thats never going to go away and its projected to increaseYou should properly staff your bank you need to take into consideration. That youre literally the only bank for the next 30 miles not only do you need to be properly staffed you need to be able to handle the influx of people that your servicing and be able to facilitate those transactions without limiting the withdrawal amount to 3000 per person in cash.I used to think of Navy Fed as top tierBut thats no longer the case I can literally get better service from some hole in the wall Western Union.Im sadly going to have to consider moving my personal and my business accounts to another bank.

This is my closest branch which is still 25 minutes away with no traffic. Unfortunately, we have came to get items notarized for free which is a plus being an account holder. However, when we came yesterday we were told the manager was not there and she was the only one that can do it. They said the best time to come is 10-2 because after that she will be busy with ATM and other things. So we come back again the following day at 12, just to be told that she is not there AGAIN and to come back between 3-5pm. This is horrible service. Items that are being notarized are time sensitive most of the time. Also, I do not like when employees just tell you anything so they dont have to deal with you or at least give you the accurate information so you are missing work, wasting gas, and wasting time. Things like this make people switch banks/unions all together.

As an existing customer, coming in at 9am when you open to add someone to my existing account and being told no because there are only 3 people working…first-great customer service that I always hear about-not available apparently in this case. Second-how long does it truly take to add someone to an existing account? I was told I could travel to another location-I am in Katy. Nearest locations to me is Cypress and Sugarland. 12 and 15 miles away. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but when I have other plans in the day it throws everything off. Very disappointed that my second time into a branch and I get told “thanks for coming in, but go bother another branch.”

Not a fan of the lady with the twists who worked at the front door, as she was very curt. and did not greet me whatsoever. Why was she there? Also, “Evelyn” wasn’t the warmest character either. Trust, I don’t care for interaction either—get a freaking drive thru.

Great service at this Navy FCU location. Needed to visit a branch while on leave from Germany ( No NFCU branches there) to take care of some account management and Phil took care of everything right from his desk. Really like the layout which is way different than a traditional credit union branch office.

Very rude guest service. I love navy federal in Leesville Louisiana so much, but this navy federal branch in Houston Texas has the rudest service providers I have ever met. Yesterday in Leesville we applied for a loan, it was put through personal. We come to houston Texas almost 3 hours away to collect the check to buy our vehicle. They say everything is wrong and have to resubmit, that’s fine.Then, every time that we ask a question or anything regarding this new loan, we only get, “I can’t discuss that with you” over and over. I’ll give them one thing, the staff tries. However, much of them are pretty rude and they are always so understaffed that if you need ANYTHING it’s going to take an hour at minimum. A busy Saturday and there’s only one representative that’s taking his sweet time not assisting people is ridiculous.

On some Saturdays when I visit this branch there is only one teller and a line with at least 8 people or more. There were other employees not doing anything and when I asked if there was only one teller to assist, the guy who is usually at the front as you enter - didnt bother to ask his name, sarcastically responded yes there is. Awful business practice. I recently open accounts here and now I will be closing those.

Join the military to bank with them, marry a vet or serviceman/woman... you will not regret the level care given to soldiers and their families that deserve this high level treatment. We Closed all other bank accounts to bank primary with NFCU..No one compares to this credit union.The best, the drip.. oooooorah!

Disappointed.They called my new Toyota 4Runner used because it has more than 7,499 miles on it! I bought it to drive not just to look at (even though I do like to look at it). Ah that magic word used. Say it and the interest rate jumps up! I bought it new, its in perfect shape, its this year’s model and its a 4Runner! BTW the rate I have now is just as good as their new vehicle rate and much better than their used vehicle rate.Guess I expected more from an organization thats supposed to serve the military community.

I totally can’t understand the rationale or logic that navy federal uses the Meyerland branch has one ATM and there’s usually maybe one teller working this branch has three tellers two ATMs and there’s someone sitting in every cubicle is there something going on here that is based on the geographical area or the racial make up of the area navy federal put two ATMs at all of your branches especially during Covid people have to use them. And a central location along energy corridor/Galleria west Hou location!

Came into the branch in April to collect a cashiers check the manager was rude and unprofessional, I think hes always been rude just had an excuse to blame it on Corona .. was back today to see him and make a complaint.. this branch needs better supervision and he should be demoted or fired! I reported to the lady that served me today
