I originally came here for low oil pressure and a coolant problem little did I know I also had a bad alternator, spark plugs, temperature housing leak, and a leaky valve cover gasket. Ever since I visit my car has been driving like a beautiful stallion, far more better than it ever did with its pre existing conditions. Fast, reliable, and fair. Exactly what I look for in a mechanic. No more being ripped off at jiffy lube, kwik kar, or from the Stealership, because this shop and their mechanics are the real deal! K at Gearone is a superb person. He was so nice to me and fixed my car for when I had no idea what was going on with my 2016 Nissan quest. Every mechanic in town was telling me different story from catalytic converter being out to Ocygyen sensors and the list goes on. I had so much on this car I was about to give up on it until I found K at GearOne in Katy.The team was so hospital, honest about what is going with my quest and the bottom line is: it was nothing so big. In less than one hour the car was fixed and it cost me a fraction of what these garages were telling. I am writing a lot here because I was really impressed by their professionalism, honesty and understanding of the customer.Man, I will definitely recommend you take your car to them first with any problem before you break the bank

Great and HONEST mechanics. Khalid had to fight and argue with my extended warranty company because the warranty company was trying to cheat me and the shop but he really made sure I was good and wouldn’t budge. Khalid is a great guy an honest mechanic that does great work also. I moved to Katy recently and really needed a reliable mechanic in the area since I do rideshare and currier work and put a lot of miles on my vehicles often needing maintenance and repairs regularly. Kalid really helped me understand more about my vehicle just by discussing with me about my car and its charging system since I often do work on my own car if its in my wheel house I appreciate a mechanic that gives me details of what is wrong and being fixed which I appreciated as it helps me understand more about my car.By the time Id found this place and brought my car here it was an ongoing issue I couldnt diagnose and fix and neither could other mechanics Id brought it to but Gearone had me fixed up in less than 24 hours. I purchased a 2006 Mazda MX5 about a year ago and just finished paying it off! Great customer service, the guys will work with you and help you through whatever problems or issues you may have. I have nothing bad to say other than recommendations to this small dealership, if you’re looking for a Miata this is the place.

Definitely came in clutch. My 2009 g37 convertible has been stuck down for almost a year and one trip to Khalid and he got it back up in less than 20 minutes! Definitely recommend to anyone with car troubles.

I looked at many Alto services in Houston Texas, they work very expensive and very poor quality, the wheels are not that good and the behavior of the employees is very bad, but I came here, the wheels are very good, very good quality, and I can find everything very cheap, I came to change a wheel and I saw something else here, its cheap, so I took care of everything here, I invite you too, I offer you too, this place is very good and very nice and they behave very well and very cheap

They sell used car parts at this location. I verified the part was available a week prior and drove from out of town to pick it up. The part was not there and the person I spoke to didnt respond to my attempts to contact them.

This place is amazing. I had misfire issue on my vehicle. I went to four different mechanic they were telling me that I need new engine and wanted $5000 I got recommended by a friend the shop put my car in the lift and figured out a real problem in 10 minutes and explain it but I don’t need a new engine and the issue was with my Cadillac converter save me thousands thank you so much this will be my only place for car repairs

I’ve never seen this type of customer service before 10 out of 10 Amir was great to me and helped me out a lot. I wasn’t even there for one hour and he got the problem fixed. If you have any type of car problems I definitely recommend this place amir is very trustworthy. And straight forward.

Khalid did an awesome job on my 1975 Caprice Classic. It had been in the garage for years and needed a few things to be drivable and he exceeded my expectations. Awesome place! Very up front and informational. We needed our H2O sensors loosened as they where sealed to the manifold not only did K go out of his way to get it fixed he replaced the new ones and also reset our system. I did not buy a car or have my car serviced here. There were 3 possible vehicles I wanted to buy and to test drive. The cars are not top notch and some would have needed some additional work, but the prices are very good. The salesman was very nice and friendly. He was very straight forward on all the vehicles and disclosed any issues. I was very close to buying a vehicle but decided on another vehicle from a private seller. If I am in the market for another cash vehicle, I will make sure to visit their website and lot for consideration.

Great experience with Gearone Auto. Quality work, at a decent price. Needed to get engine pulled for some work and cat converter replaced. With 198K miles on the motor, decided to just replace entire engine assembly. Gearone helped me find an engine with 57K miles that came with 1yr parts/labor warranty. They did excellent work with the install and had a quick turnaround.

Khalid and his guys did an awesome job on my 92 Camaro. It had been in the garage for years and their guys got her up and running in no time. They had been recommend to me by a neighbor and they will now be my mechanic from now on. Their prices are very reasonable and he even sent pictures of where he found issues, cant beat that for service .

I own a Lexus GS 350 and I love it. In the last year every now and then my car started turning off and not starting again and started having electrical problems and would run with all lights at the dashboard on like Xmas. Add to that driving w no ac or radio and steering wheel not working, and after few hours it works for days and months without a single problem. I took it to the dealer ship and when it gets there they see the issue and afterwards it woks again. They weren’t been able to figure out the issue even after 3 visits. After the third visit, the car worked for few months without any issues until one time it stopped while I was at a red light and didn’t work unless it’s jumped. It happened that I was in that area and it was the closest shop around. My car was back like a brand new in no time. Very nice staff and helpful with very good experience and you can tell they know what they’re doing. Apparently it was an alternator issue and it costed me barely anything compared to the dealers price. Since then I only go there. I changed my brakes, rotors and water pump w the radiator at this shop knowing I’m getting the best service and work for the best price.

I have above average knowledge of mechanical issues and repair but unfortunately not enough free time to work on my vehicles. This shop staff is always welcoming, professional and honest. After giving them the chance to work on my work truck (1997 Yukon) and getting great price and outstanding work done on my truck, I decided to let them work on my other vehicles and I am impressed with their work. After over 2 years with my 1950 Ford Deluxe seating at Bumbera’s performance and not getting fixed. I decided to have the vehicle towed to GEAR ONE AUTO CARE in Katy Texas. The shop took less than one day to get the vehicle back to running. I’m very impressed and thankful for their honesty, professional service and outstanding service work. I brought my car into Gearone Auto Care for some bodywork after a friend recommended me here for their service. My car was repaired in a timely fashion and the quality of the bodywork was great! I also had some mechanical issues before I brought it in and after the bodywork was finished I asked them to check out the mechanicals and codes. His personal diagnosis confirmed what I already knew was wrong so they were very honest. I left it in for a bit longer to fix the mechanical issues and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the job done. I would recommend because I love this place!

UPDATED: 1/23/23: Initially, Gearone had to replace her engine. She already knew that was going to eventually happen since the car is too big to have a 4-cyldr engine and we have had issues with it before, but Kia sold her on that. The used engine they replaced in October had several issues that my mom and them worked on while the engine was under warranty. Her Soronto threw a code for the engine yesterday (1.22.23 - 3 months after) but is no longer under warranty. We took it to our local mechanic and they told us Kia has a 43-page troubleshoot on the code.Original:My mother and I were on our way to Austin on a Saturday when her engine started the fail. (At Hruska’s) We decided to tow the car to a nearby auto shop that was open and could do service on it that day. Gearone Auto was literally the ONLY shop that was available. We arrived and the owner was extremely kind and honest with us. Provided us snacks since we hadn’t had any breakfast yet. Unfortunately, her engine had been having issues prior and we sort of expected bad news. She had to get a another engine. It took them one week to get it, put it in and we picked up the following Saturday. She did have to take it back today to fix some minor stuff but we are very satisfied with their customer care.Side note: The owner (Nour) is a plant person and should def join the Joys of Butterfly Gardening SE Texas on Facebook! Lol

They didnt have the car i wanted so being the family friendly people they are, asked for what I wanted and the price I was looking for. They soon found the car (Ford escape) on AAA with a minor hit in the back and offered to fix it and still be under my budget. I was amazed on the distance they would go for a costumer im a College student so they dont know the amount of help this was for me!

I came across them on a Facebook post looking at vehicles. There was a truck I liked so i looked up the carfax. It has 40k more miles on it than the dash said so I found another GM truck on there page. They claim it has 115k miles. Carfax says it has over 300k! They are swapping the clusters or buying these trucks from people and not checking the carfax first. I’m sure they are good people but don’t get scammed

Wow these guys are amazing. I couldnt figure out what was going on with my truck and had them look at it. They were able to diagnose it in less than 30 mins. They really know what they are doing. They were able to fix it the same day. Im big on local businesses and will only be coming here from now on.

As if my own ordeal wasn’t enough, I had an even worse experience with this shop. I took my Honda Odyssey in for repairs and paid nearly $2,000 just last week. Shortly after, my van broke down on the Katy Highway. When I called the mechanic for help, they refused to take any responsibility for the breakdown. Instead, they demanded an additional $500 just to come out and assist me—an outrageous request considering they had just “repaired” my vehicle.But it gets even worse. While I was still deciding whether to let them continue working on the car, the mechanic went ahead and performed additional repairs without my consent. Then, they refused to return my vehicle unless I paid more money for this unauthorized work. This kind of behavior—essentially holding my car hostage—is shockingly dishonest and unprofessional.I strongly warn others to avoid this mechanic at all costs. They cannot be trusted, and my experience proves that they care more about taking money than actually fixing vehicles.

Terrible Experience – Dishonest & Unreliable MechanicI had the worst experience with this mechanic and would not recommend their service to anyone. My friend initially recommended this place, and I spent $3,300 on repairs, yet my car still had issues. To make things worse, after the repair, a new noise started coming from my engine. Suspicious of the issue, I took my car to another mechanic in Austin, who discovered that the previous mechanic had intentionally added something to create extra noise, likely to get me to come back for more repairs. Once the new mechanic removed it, my car was in much better condition.As if that wasn’t bad enough, my friend also had a terrible experience. He took his Honda Odyssey here for repairs, spending nearly $2,000 last week. Unfortunately, his car broke down near Katy Highway. When he reached out to the mechanic for help, the shop refused to take any responsibility and demanded an extra $500 for assistance.To make matters worse, my friend was still deciding whether to let them continue working on the car. But before he could confirm, the mechanic went ahead and repaired the vehicle without consent and then refused to release it unless more money was paid. This level of dishonesty and lack of professionalism is unacceptable.I don’t understand how this place has so many good reviews—something definitely seems off. Please be careful and avoid this mechanic at all costs. Do not trust them!

I paid $1400 to change the front suspension of my car and after 3 days I almost died on the highway because they did not adjust it as it should be, the alignment was pending, since due to lack of time they did not do it and yet when I returned to take the car to them, I had to pay a tow truck to take it to their workshop, losing days of work, and it came out that I had changed the tire🤦🏾‍♂️ as if one is going to want to kill oneself for a little money that They will need it, I am willing to sue them since my car was worse than what they fixed it again,
