Use at your own risk. (East Dallas/Garland/Wiley)Install was sloppy, drainage pipes were improperly done causing 3 weeks of calls and follow up on my part to get fixed, emergency overflow drainage was not installed, duct work didn’t follow the old paths (were NOT neat or tidy, and literally built *through* my storage deck without letting me know or regards as to how I would now remove my boxes when needed).Large debris was removed but smaller, dangerous sharp shrapnel was ignored and left where anyone or my dog could be injured if we stepped on it. Insulation was ground into my carpets and entry mats (front and back). It took me three days of vacuuming to just get most of it up.Response to the issues was always polite, they sent 4 different techs out, but didn’t actually fix the issues for three weeks. 3 weeks of siphoning out the clogged drainage pipe every two hours to keep the unit running. Yes, they knew this was happening; I kept them well informed, and every tech that came said the same thing; the pipe needed to be installed properly and an emergency overflow had to be installed as well. Not a single one of these techs picked up the obvious trash left by them originally.The level of service I got for the money spent was not worth it. If the unit functions well for over 10 years, I may change my mind, but no install of this expense should ever require the outlay of over seeing, follow up, out right labor, and frustration I had to go through to get the job “done”. I use quotes because the trash is still on my property and at this point I have no faith in them and will clean it up myself.

The initial meeting was fine. The salesman was informed and knowledgeable. Nice guy, who seemed be working hard for my benefit. The next was the installation and that went well also. I did kind of expect to see my salesman at least a little because that was the impression that was left but nope. After the installation was completed it came time to pay and take care of the signatures needed. So I signed saying they did a good job( because they had) and then I handed them a check for the full amount of a complete HVAC system and when I asked for a receipt I was told that I would get it emailed to me. So I have to pay thousands of dollars to hope that I get an email. Then when I reach out to my salesman, I get crickets. I tried to call the office and got a Houston call center. Then I called Lowe’s and they called and they were told that someone would get back to me by the end of the day tomorrow. So I paid the thousands and now I’m just tossed aside when all I really want is a receipt. And now an apology

I recently had an experience with American Residential that left me quite disappointed. Our 20 to 25-year-old furnace had an issue, and their technician came to check it. However, he seemed more focused on selling than diagnosing the problem. He quickly glanced at the unit and said we had a bad blower motor, quoting $1,400-$1,600 to replace it or suggesting a new furnace for $7,400.When I mentioned wanting a second opinion and wasnt ready to decide, they started offering better deals, which felt a bit pushy. I decided to have another company look at it. The new company quickly identified the issue as a bad capacitor, replaced it within 30 minutes, and our furnace was back to normal in no time! The repair cost was only $25.It seems that American Residential might benefit from focusing more on accurate diagnostics rather than sales. Their initial diagnosis was not only incorrect but also costly. What they quoted as a $1,600 minimum fix was resolved by another company for $25...Although I understand we have an older unit and it very well may need to be repaired at some point in the near future, I was hoping to get an honest opinion and that was clearly not the case in my situation. While I appreciate their effort, I hope they can improve their service to provide more accurate assessments in the future.

Very disappointing. I went through Home Depot to have an AC tune up done. I should have known something was off when the ARS “repairman” didn’t have any tools with him. Just a tablet and a flashlight. He went into my attic looked around, told me my system was old and would need replacing. Went outside, looked around and came back and told me he as not going to do anything to it because it was too old and needed replacing. So he sent out a sales man the next day to sell me a new unit. Unfortunately I can’t do that right now and asked if they actually fix or repair units. He said they did and would have a tech come back out to actually do the maintenance. I had to call and reschedule an appointment, because I had already paid for the service. Rescheduled the appt. The day of that appointment I get a call from them stating they won’t do any work to it because it was “too old and raggity.” So hopefully I get my refund like the man said he would do. So if you need a sales man, they are the ones to go with, but if you want a repair man look elsewhere.Update…..After all this, they did refund me for not doing the tune up. It has been five months, no one has been in my attic but me and the “tech” from here and as it’s getting colder I turned on my heater and it did not work. After doing some looking and asking people where to start looking for a solution I discovered that a wire was cut in my furnace in the attic. It was not only cut but pushed behind the other wires. After reconnecting the wire, it did go through the regular cycles but is still not working properly, so now I have to have someone come out and see if he sabotaged more then just cutting the wire. So frustrating and very unethical business.

This company has one of the best customer service that Ive experienced.After my unit was installed I experienced I guess a glitch in the new thermostat. I made a call with my concerns and they without hesitation was able to see me the same day. First came Matt to see the job that needed to be done and he was very professional. Last Saturday Gary and a young man came to do the job I was amazed with their attitude and quality of work as I must say the location of the Water Heater was in a very different spot. They stayed about 8 to 10 hrs but they never complained. Great Company!!

This is my second time using ARS Rescue Rooter, and like last time their service did not disappoint! Gabriel and Enrique worked diligently, answered all of my questions, and cleaned up once they were done (even tidied up random items in my garage that were probably in their way 😅). Honestly beyond grateful these guys were up in the attic changing the furnace and what not in this insane Texas heat. Their pricing and financing options are super helpful as well, and they’re always trying to help the customer out. The service was taken care of and we were helped to understand our system a little better. Charles was kind and helpful. However, we were flat-out lied to by the initial salesman. He said EVERYTHING would be included in this extra maintenance plan. We wouldn’t have to purchase a filter for as long as this maintenance plan was in place. Filters are not included—or any information about what filters are necessary to be ordered. The timing of the visit was inconvenient—they hounded us for a date/time and then immediately re-scheduled once it was set, but we made it work. Now we have to figure out what filters to order and how to install them once delivered. Had I known this up front I wouldn’t have paid the extra money for this plan.

Everyone I have to say from rep to phone calls and then the techs performed An unbelievable display of knowledge professionalism and respect. I got a the rheem ac unit inside/outside ,thermostat full replacement for a respectable price. And in 1 day amazingly completed the full install in about 3 hours.Cleaned up there mess tested unit and explained everything to me and asked if I have any questions and they where on there way to there next job. I purchased a Black Friday special from Home Depot last week for a heater tune-up at my house. It was a good deal... ARS / Rescue Rooter performed the service and Noel was the technician who came to my house and performed the service. Noel was very thorough and was honest with me by stating my heating system was in great condition and did not need any repairs (major or minor). Many techs would try to upsell extra services and parts, but Noel was a true gentleman and extremely honest. I appreciate Noel and would welcome him back to my home at any time. I highly recommend this company based on my experience with Noel today. Ask for him if you call.

Tech really do not listen to us. All he said was unit was operating normally. If we did not want cold air blowing when 2nd speed kicked in we needed to switch to emergency heat mode. My wife was getting frustrated because he couldnt understand her asian accent and he kept talking over us. First time they went in the master bedroom my wife told them to stay out. When he went back in my wife yelled for him to get outThat is when he said they needed to leave. Will we be contacted for a different team to come out?

Called to get my furnace repaired as it would not come on. Service tech was scheduled to arrive same day with-in a few hours. Tech was very polite and diagnosed the problem right away was very careful to make sure I knew what he was testing every step of the way. Fixed my heater in a very cost effective way. Horrible!!! Had an 8-10 window. Tech did not show up until after 11. No prior notice that I’d have to provide replacement filters. In order not to reschedule appointment, I left tech at my home (alone and unsupervised) to run to purchase filters from Home Depot. Tech noted recommendation to place units on 2 surge protectors for a discounted price. My question is for what I’m paying for unit why weren’t the surge protectors recommended at original install? I’m a widow living on a fixed income and don’t need to be nickled and dime for service calls. Prior to today’s service, I’d had previous appointments but they were canceled because unit had not been installed long enough for service. I’ve referred my brother and sister to ARS and they both had to have their units replaced last year as well. I will forwarn them of my situation today so they will not be blindsided. Service tech was good - polite and gave me update on what he’d done.

I’ve had two tune-ups with this company this year. In May, they gave me a detailed report of what is wrong with my a/c and said that it would fail. They came and gave me a quote to replace both my a/c and furnace. I was questioned 3 times if they needed to speak to someone else who makes the financial decisions in my house. I decided against upgrading. I was told the first guy shared with the second that I was “hard to read” and then the man giving the quote told me that using their company would be safer based on their background checks. He then told me a story of a woman who hired carpet cleaners that came back and raped and murdered her. I still declined and he finally left. I had booked through Home Depot so did not realize ARS was the company and so I ended up booking them directly for my heating tune up today.The man explained I should upgrade now and when I said I’d think about it, he reminded me that I said I’d think about it in May and continued to tell me reasons for upgrading.

Well my heater started acting up literally the night before the storm was to arrive and the ARS tech came that night! Not the next day, not after the storm but that night. He was so nice and FAST! We recently bought our home and the HVAC system downstairs never worked, 35 year old system thats not safe. Weve tried numerous companies and just decided to rough it with no ac or heat until yesterday. Our upstairs hvac went out, our only heat and air in the house. Then our irrigation system pipe busted and need to replace the valve handles to turn it off to be able to fix the leak. ARS fixed the upstairs system in minutes. We trusted them to Install a whole brand new hvac system for our downstairs, all done today!! ...and will be back out first thing in the morning to repair our plumbing issues! Very affordable for all the time and brand new equipment. The gentlemen working in our home were polite and kept the house and outside clean as they worked. ARS is the most affordable company Ive come across in DFW area, and Ive call we them all! I will never trust any other company. Highly recommend, they deserve 10☆s.

So a bit of a long story. I had a backed up sink. Called the rescue rooter and they got someone to me the next morning. They had great communication all the way from their office to the technician. The tech explained everything and gave me a quote and even was able to give me some discounts. Sedrick R is a great asset to this company. Work was well done and quick. Although it’s not summer, March brings warmth we never seem to be ready for, prompting us to flip on the a/c. This spring was no different except that my central air would stay on 24/7 just to combat 80 degree temps. The tech dispatched, Giovanni SalmeronRivera, was relentless in his efforts to locate an obvious leak exposing and inspecting every possible connection and fixture of the outside condenser unit. Eventually a small, audibly leaking valve was located that looked just like a valve stem you’d find on a typical car tire. My biggest concern was whether the valve was installed when the unit was installed on my home. Tech Rivera assured me the valve was part of the factory assembled unit, which was a relief.However, I thought it may be helpful to present this issue from a customer perspective for quality control that would benefit you the vendors that depend on the assembled product, and the end user for overall comfort and peace of mind.Days of running the a/c unit trying to maintain a comfortable temp, the time the tech spent to locate and fix the problem, and the refrigerant needed to re-charge the system all comes at a cost. The cause; a relatively inexpensive, mass produced little valve included with the assembled unit that simply needed to be secured to prevent the refrigerant from escaping which presumably would’ve been checked during the factory assembly process. Since the valve was accessed during the end user installation, I assume re-checking to make sure the valve was securely in-place would also be on the to-do list before the installation was complete; it’s obviously impossible for me to determine how/why this was an issue.Although air conditioning is a must-have in Texas, the spring season has been gut-wrenching for me over the past few years. Obviously, the initial purchase of a home air conditioner is seldom taken lightly given the cost. However a year and a couple of months after my initial purchase my outside unit developed a serious leak in the condenser coil. It was warranted, but the labor obviously wasn’t to the tune of $2,220. That was a bitter pill to swallow as the overall purchase price was still fresh, and now larger. Spring 2024, a year after the coil was replaced and my system was again struggling with 80 degree days. Ugh! Summer is on the horizon and my system has lost nearly all the refrigerant again because a two dollar valve wasn’t securely in place.I’m extremely thankful I wasn’t on the hook to pay for the lost refrigerant. And very thankful my tech Giovanni was so doggedly determined to locate and repair the issue. I’m timidly hopeful the issues for cooling are now behind me as I still refer to this system as new.After last year I was unsure I would ever contact ARS again as each repair was quite expensive. However the prompt service and knowledgeable technicians like Giovanni using his expertise to remedy my issue will have me continuing to call when my a/c unit has even the slightest hiccup.

Scheduled an appointment for 8 am. At 10:30 am the company calls and says the technician was about an hour away. Finally the tech arrived, I explained all the details of what happened and what I did to try to fix the issue. The tech stated that it seemed as if I fixed the problem. I asked the tech to look over the system to be sure, as Im no ac tech. He stated that would be a separate charge. Unfortunately for then on everything was a separate charge. My expectation, yes the system is working now, and yes I diagnosed it. But you should still walk the system and ensure the problem was corrected.Update 2/26/26Had a technician come out to do a spring tune up. The tech was very pleasant to work with and really explained the components of my system to me.Timing was a bit off, appt was between 12 and 4 and he arrived at 4:30is. But over all his great attitude made the wait well worth it.

The dispatch team was personable and kept me updated. The tech Sheldon Richardson was fantastic! AC went out Sunday, called and requested service for Monday, he showed up earlier than expected in the time slot (as someone who has worked as a dispatcher/admin in the field, I usually expect arrival on the later side of the time slot), found a bad compressor, then got us scheduled asap for the next morning. I had an HVAC install done in July on the 29th. I applied for a loan, and the representative messed up the initial application and had to resubmit a second time to get it right, which I am sure messed with our chances of getting the promised rate... Fast forward, I was quoted three separate values and had to straighten things out multiple times with the servicer because they also messed up our address somehow in the paperwork in the contract....I signed for their promotion of receiving a gift card and have been calling multiple times for an update but the sales representative that guaranteed his availability should I have any concerns/questions/need updates (Travis) has not reached back out to me after multiple calls and voicemails...I call the company themselves and they claim to escalate the issue every time but I never hear back. Its been over a month now, and I will be complaining to Home Depot about this since they are the ones who recommended and contracted out their services to me. Im tired of being given the run around.

I have been paying $15 per month for each of my two AC units as part of their maintenance plan, which totals $360 annually. I assumed this plan would cover most routine maintenance and minor repairs, providing peace of mind and reducing overall costs. However, my recent experience proved otherwise.When one of my AC units required a capacitor replacement, I was shocked to be charged an additional $250, despite being a loyal customer under their maintenance plan. This brought my total annual cost to $430 for basic maintenance and a single minor repair. If I had called an independent technician, the same job would have cost around $95—$75 for the service call and about $20 for the capacitor itself.It’s frustrating to pay for a service plan and still be charged exorbitant fees for repairs that should be reasonably priced, especially when the market rate is significantly lower. This experience makes the maintenance plan seem like a money trap rather than a genuine value-added service. I feel misled and overcharged, and I’m extremely disappointed with ARS/Rescue Rooter’s lack of transparency and customer care.I would caution others to thoroughly evaluate the costs and benefits before committing to their maintenance plans. My experience suggests that you could end up paying much more than expected for even the simplest repairs.I have already spoken with the Quality Manager, Dan, and found the experience even more disappointing than my interaction with the technician. Dan mentioned that the technician should have charged $350 for replacing the capacitor, which raises further concerns. This suggests that the maintenance plan is not only failing to provide value but is also being misrepresented. Given the current situation, it seems that the entire maintenance plan is a poor investment and not worth the cost.

We called them for HVAC service/ tune-up. The technician was on time, he was very good about explaining preventative maintenance and he offered some great Tips on additional equipment to lengthen the life of the unit. He suggested a screen to put around the outdoor unit for weeds control (no other tech ever mentioned that) and a whole house surge protector, but we already had one installed on the electrical panel. I definitely liked how he explained stuff to me and offered options. We decided to go with them on a yearly service contract. We were very pleased with the service. I give Wade 5+ stars !!!!

Do not let this company put their hands on your system. They came out on Aug 19, and had to return the next morning to fix their mess they left by turning off the disconnect to the condenser unit. It’s a 4-year old system, I maintained twice a year and even installed start assist system to help prolong the life. I’m also investigating a stain on the ceiling at the moment.

My A/C failed on a Saturday night, of course. Called ARS Sunday morning and they came out by early afternoon! Diagnosed the issue within 20 minutes. Part was obtained Monday morning and by 1pm on Monday my A/C was cooling my condo again. Installation cost was on the high side of what I researched, but the repair was quick and effective. Honestly worst experience I could have had.A little of over 100 of service fee for tech to tell us he doesnt know what the next step will be.Then calls husband next day and says its going to cost us in the thousands to get our ac fixed due to parts and labor. And them not knowing what it was and that something about replacing mother board and all kids of bull.I just waisted money and nothing was done.He could have done his job and seen that apparently unit still was under warranty, properly diagnose, and go off the code it showed beside assuming something else.If I could get my money back I would.My husband got ahold of someone he knew from a different company and thru the phone my husband explain situation and provided pictures and he said hey I can see that your unit is still under warranty so Ill just charge for labor not parts. And guy came in today with new blower motor which is what the code showed and boom ac is fixed and no thousands spent.

We’ve used ARS for years, and most of the techs have done a good job. But Wade is by far the kindest and most knowledgeable tech we’ve had come out. I always appreciate good customer service, as it is so hard to find these days. Wade took great care of us, and recommended the appropriate maintenance needed for our system. Our serviceman Jacob was a stud! Even in 100 degree heat he took his time, explained every step to make sure we understood what he needed to do and confirmed pricing before anything. And he got us a great price and replaced the broken part in less than 30 minutes. Highly recommend ARS and their people!

First resource assigned to ticket never showed up even after call that I was next on the list at 11 am. They did manage to get another rep out to my home around 6:30 pm. Yes thank you for that. But the AC issue and associated quote is basically highway robbery. $1400 to swap a $159 dollar part. Ok go with the Honeywell part $250. Still outrageous. Quick call for follow up explanation- “it is what it is”. Your options 1) do it yourself 2) call someone else 3) take price as is. Oh yeah he was polite about it with every response. Cudos on that. Yeah there was a second part to this @$1700 for 2 $100 pieces. A little more labor involved but not $1500 dollars worth. So second company came out next day identified problem as a short on the outside unit in first 5 minutes. Cost to fix less than $300.

My unit was blowing cold air instead of warm. Luckily, it was time for my 1 yr check up. Paul and Daniel came and Paul found the problem right away. My thermostat was stuck on cooling.which froze up the outside unit. They told me exactly what to do to help it thaw out and still have heat that night. Today they came back to double check it. Daniel cleaned out the bottom of my indoor unit, after putting down towels to catch the drips from thawing, while Paul checked the outside. He suggested a surge protector to prevent overloading the circiut and costing me $100s. I agreed and now all is well. They were fast, courteous and spot on. ARS employs Quaility technicians!

Make sure ti avoid.Rip off artistI did contact quality department. They kept saying they have forwarded to accounting department. I was given assurance that I will get a call back. I patiently waited for 1 week but no response at all.They said it was free diagnosis but after that they charged $500 do screw my AC unit.I investigated this by hiring 2 more different companies and they verified this company ARS did no repairs and the images they shared claiming to be from my unit is not from my property.And on there hand they gave $10k estimate on the to to fix the issue where other companies were able to fix it in just $5kDO YOURSELF A FAVORavoid this company at all costsI an making my neighborhood and all the friends and family aware about this company

Alex was very thorough and patient. I wanted to understand how the cost savings of the new unit would offset my current bill. I went with the highest-end model. I will only be paying about 50 dollars more a month. Not only will my house be more comfortable but the dust mites will be eliminated. Alex was professional and made me feel comfortable with him in my home. I know as single women we can hesitate to have people come in. Top notch service and a gentleman!

Technicians and reps are polite and attentive. It’s just that they’re not organized. I paid for the maintenance plan two months ago and when I called them the third time they were charging me for diagnostics because they said I wasn’t a member. The rep and tech said they couldn’t find my plan. It’s strange because some of their staff could see it and others can’t. So I asked them to send me the receipt for the maintenance plan I paid and up to this moment, they haven’t sent it. 😓

ARS and our tech Jacob were excellent. Came out very quickly and early morning to fix my AC before my house got any hotter. I have elderly parents and a special needs child that live in my home. Lucky it was a quick fix. Explained everything that he was doing and answered all of my questions.Will use them in the future.

Great consultation and working out best option to replace our 20yo central heat and air unit. Alex was friendly, helpful and patient. Called for tuneup and was scheduled for 2 days out 8-12 time frame. Waited on scheduled day till 10:00 and no show/call yet. Called them and said its scheduled. Waited and receive call about 11:30, said be 2-4 for arrival. Finally technician arrive at 3:55. Wife came home 4:25, noticed tech and said thought appointment was this morning. Tech noted that and asked when it was scheduled, said 8-12 and he was clueless on that. I know ARS has several contractors in DFW but not scheduling them out as requested is not right. They have provided me with great service in the past but timeliness this time was not acceptable.

He was fast, friendly, and efficient and he did not try to sell me parts or services that I did not need. He offered helpful suggestions that I could do myself, like keeping the condensate drain clean and cleaning the unit outside, that increase the life of my system and keep it performing at peak efficiency.

Excellent work! The crew was there on time and worked as per my convenience. Friendly and experienced. I replaced 3 HVAC units for my house and it was all installed very professionally. Rainy day and my house was as clean as it was before they stepped in. Travis the sales person was very helpful and gave me all the options for payments and worked around my budget to fit in my plan. Overall!!! Had a great experience so far. I hope the carrier units will be as efficient as my Lennox ran for 23 years without any problems.

Very thankful for the excellent customer service. I called because my AC seemed to be running loud. They sent out Alex Ellis-Latham, Comfort Advisor to look at it and he said it probably the speed needed to be adjusted. They sent Jacob Gilliland, HVAC Service Technician that checked it out and made the adjustment. Both were very helpful and informative. Plus Jacob hooked me up and did it under my warranty.
