Summary - the least professional contractor Ive ever dealt with.On the Horizon HVAC was sent by my home warranty Super. The tech showed up in a completely unbranded vehicle. See 1st picture. Unbranded clothing. If my wife had been the one at home, I wouldve told her not to let him in. We dont need a shiny new truck but this minivan was in bad shape. It was absolutely packed with junk. See second picture. A mess inside.He said a capacitor needed to be replaced. I didnt have the technical knowledge to dispute it. We paid for another claim under the warranty. No idea if it was actually needed. The units were working fine before. Worked fine after.What he didnt do was any of what Super says the HVAC techs will do in their annual maintenance. See below for that list from Supers website. If he did, he never reported anything to me. Not filters, not coils, not refrigerant, nothing. None of what every other HVAC tech from every other company has always mentioned.For whatever reason, Super still insists on using them. I always call and request another company. Never again.From the Super website about what the annual maintenance visits include:For the applicable service fee, Super will perform one (1) A/C Pre-Season Tune-up between February and April or one (1) Heating System Pre-Season Tune-up between October and November. Tune-ups are covered for 1 unit. You will be responsible to pay $40 for each additional unit. During a Tune-up, we will calibrate thermostat, test temperature split, check refrigerant levels and system pressures, perform amp draw on condenser motor, evaporator motor and compressor, rinse condenser coils, check contactors, check condensate lines, clean or replace filters (which you supply), clean and tighten electrical connections, test capacitors and check heat operations, inspect pilot system, test safety switches, test limit switches and clean burners.

Our technician was Baldo. Our upstairs AC went out, he showed up on time on a Monday, quickly and accurately diagnosed the issue with the fan motor going out. Back right on time Wednesday and quickly made the repair, very happy overall. Looking forward to sleeping in cool comfort once again, thanks!

I had Horizon come out for an annual inspection. The tech that was sent evidently didnt know much about servicing and repairing. After completing his inspection, he told me my refrigerant was low and that I had a leak in the system and it needed replacing. I told him if I had a leak I dont have to have my system replaced it needs repairing. He suggested he could shoot some stop leak into it and fill it back up with refrigerant. My house is about 7 years old and the system uses 410A refrigerant and not the old expensive refrigerant. So, the tech calls his boss and they told him, if he doesnt want to replace his system for $5900, we wont mess with it and refused to even attempt to repair the leak. Also he couldnt pinpoint where the leak was, probably because he didnt have the testing equipment to find the leak. After I had another company here to repair my system, they found that 2 Schrader valves were leaking and my capacitor was weak and needed replacing. They also told me, if I added a hard start kit to my AC unit, it would add years of life to my system. After adding refrigerant, (5 pounds) with parts and labor, I paid under $1000. My system is working great and I did not have to pay $5900 for what the tech that did the repairs said was probably only the outside unit, unless these systems came from China. He said theres no way you can get a reliable system for $5900. I would refrain from hiring this company to do anything on your Heating and Hvac systems!

Had a good experience with Horizon. They were sent by my home warranty co, OneGuard. Tanya in the office was responsive, empathetic, and helpful and the turnaround time was excellent for repair. Unfortunately the wood around my attic entrance had to be cut, and some was damaged. While the guys were nice and stayed to try and put it all back In place, which I do appreciate, I am still having to pay someone to come fix it properly.

I asked for recommendations of a company from my home warranty. Horizon was on the list still and had been out before. The unit wasnt cooling. The tech came out supposedly cleaned and serviced the unit. Said everything else was fine and should be working. This was on a Friday. On Tuesday, it wasnt cooling. Called home warranty. They sent a different company even though I asked for Horizon who came out Friday. The new tech said the unit was still dirty and the compressor was out😮. Of course the home warranty doesnt want to cover.

The technician was very knowledgeable, quickly diagnosing the problem and ordering the correct parts. He returned promptly to complete the repair once the parts arrived. Update: The lead technician and license holder called me and we discussed my concerns and everything that happened. He personally came to my house on a Sunday to rediagnose my issues and is now working to help fix the issue.On the Horizon came to my house as assigned by my warranty company. The technician stated I needed a full cleaning of the system based on the look of my air filter. The filter was less than 30 days old. They quoted me the almost $1500 for a cleaning and freon. He said he could not properly diagnose my system without the cleaning. I was told I needed 8 lbs of freon after my system was checked 6 weeks ago for another issue and had enough freon to properly function then. I have asked for a second opinion from my home warranty but I would not trust them to accurately diagnose anyones AC

I am completely satisfied with the furnace replacement work done by Horizon AC & Heat on 2/22/22. They promptly scheduled me for the diagnostic visit and then immediately scheduled the replacement once I had agreed to the work.We called in a service request to One Guard Home Warranty because our furnace would not stay on to heat the house. The diagnostic visit was scheduled the very next day. After the paperwork was submitted to One Guard, we were advised the entire furnace had to be replaced because a certain motor was not available. I don’t know if it was due to the shortage of goods the entire world is experiencing or because the part is no longer manufactured due to the age of the furnace (which is about 30 years old). All I knew is that I needed heat in my house and had to rely on professionals to resolve the issue. To be honest, I was a little hesitant when I heard that the entire furnace had to be replaced and certain modifications had to be made with the ducts and gas pipes.I had never used Horizon before, so I immediately went to look at online reviews. After I read a lot of reviews, I was left feeling a little anxious and I had mixed feelings based on extremely positive and extremely negative reviews. I decided the best way to reduce my worries is to reach out to Horizon and One Guard with my questions. I also did some minor research to see what is involved with replacing a furnace and what it would cost if I went with a different company and paid everything out of pocket. Not to my surprise, replacing a furnace can cost thousands of dollars.So, I wrote down a list of questions and called Horizon. I dont remember who I spoke with, but the office staff was able to answer all my questions. She was professional and left me feeling confident and at ease that Horizon would be able to resolve our issue. Another great perk was that they were able to work with me on the final total for the out-of-pocket expenses which was not covered by One Guard.On the day of the furnace replacement, the technician Jose and his assistant arrived and went immediately to work. They were very professional, friendly, cleaned up after themselves, and installed the new furnace perfectly. Because of Horizon, we were able to stay warm during the cold front that came through the DFW area on 2/23/22-2/25/22.My take-away from this entire experience is that everyone’s experience and perception is different. I am they type of person that will ask questions and likes to provide and receive clear expectations. Also, during these past two years of a global pandemic, I am trying to be more patient and appreciative of services I am receiving and especially by those that are performing the work. I do want to say I have had both bad and good experiences with contractors whether they were through One Guard, personal referrals, or from my own search, but my experience with Horizon was great and I would recommend them.

I had my AC looked at because it wasnt cooling. When the repair tech got to the house he said my compressor was bad. He then stated that it is because I didnt keep the unit clean, and unless I paid him 400$ to clean them that they would contact the home warranty and have them deny my claim. This guy used his position as leverage to rip you off. When I contacted the manager he said he would give me a call back in five minutes, but never did.

My AC unit from 1982 finally went out Saturday night in the Texas summer. I couldn’t get anyone out until Monday morning. My home warranty company sent Horizon out. The tech was nice enough. He said he could fix it, but it’s time to replace it. I agreed. I spent the next several hours scrambling to get information and quotes from several companies. I needed to make a decision before closing time Monday so that I could still get it installed Tuesday, hopefully. Tanya was incredibly nice and very helpful. I told her about my concerns with the Google ratings. She talked me through that and answered all of my questions as I am not very knowledgeable about hvac. By Tuesday morning, it was in the 90s in my house. By Tuesday afternoon, my house was incredibly cool. The two techs were very nice as well. From start to finish, my contact and experience with Horizon has been great!

Being without AC in Texas during the summer is tough! We are so thankful for Tanya for doing all the leg work and going to bat for us with our home warranty company! She went above and beyond to spend multiple hours by phone to ensure the right equipment was ordered, appointments were made, and also explaining each step of the process to us. Great customer service is hard to come by nowadays, but Tonya and the crew at On the Horizon AC proved that their customers needs come first. Horizon was scheduled by my home warranty (Super) to repair our A/C that had stopped blowing cold air. I will say, after reading the reviews, I was extremely concerned, to the point that I called Super to try to change the appt. They assured me that they stand behind their contractors and would make it right if I was unhappy.First off, I got a call saying the tech was on his way and he arrived before the appt time. Sadly, I dont remember his name, but he was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. He explained the problem he found and had it fixed in about 30 minutes. He also went into the attic to check the exchange unit.It was one of the better experiences weve had with an A/C company and Im glad we stayed with them.

My experience with Horizons technician was disappointing. Despite being dispatched by the (Liberty Home Guard) home warranty provider, the technician seemed ill-equipped to diagnose the issue with my HVAC system. After two days, they concluded that the compressor was grounded, leading to a month-long debate with Liberty Home Guard over the warranty claim. Frustrated by the lack of progress, I opted to seek a second opinion from another HVAC company. Thankfully, they were able to identify and rectify the problem, restoring my heat pump condensing unit to full working order.

I will say, I do not agree with the statements that customer service was rude. They were polite. The technician was in the time window they gave me. However, he incorrectly diagnosed my issue as an electrical issue and said it wasn’t something he could do.We had an electrician come out, and it was in fact an issue within the furnace.When I called Horizon AC back on it, they initially apologized for their tech missing the issue, and added us back to the schedule. I was satisfied with this.However, no one showed. When I called to see why no one had come, they told me it had to be scheduled through my home warranty (thus creating a new $70 fee).I think Horizon has found a niche with home warranties and getting a guaranteed service fee without resolving an issue. I would highly recommend looking for another company for your HVAC needs.

WORST HVAC company I have ever worked with. They were dispatched to me from my Super Warranty, and upon arrival, old beat up truck with NO branding. No big deal, but didnt start off my first impression.The tech was very friendly, but tried to tell us there was oil at the bottom of our AC (shocking its not covered by warranty...but upon further inspection...it was WATER!)Not only that, they did not resolve our issue.He said everything looks fine.Me: Sir, its still not working right?Tech: Well, could be the ductsMe: So what do I do?Him: Call someone else.YOU ARE AN HVAC company!!!! Completely worthless and not helpful at all. Horizon was sent by my home warranty Super to look at a condensation leak coming out of our flue pipe. The technician that looked at the PVC pipe that had a clear gap/hole and claimed that it was a roofing issue and wouldnt be covered by the warranty... Im sorry but how is a pipe directly from the furnace (not even in the roof) be considered a roofing problem. The technician gave no explanation or any information of what was going into the claim, which took well over a week to get back...luckily I called Super again to get a second opinion and Im thankful that Jasons Air Tex Services came by for the second visit. They quickly assessed and within minutes noted it was a ventilation problem which was covered by the warranty.DO NOT USE HORIZON!!!

So far they are not up to par. They were suppose to fix a core. then they caused another problem with A/C drain piping. Two weeks later its not cooling at all. They get one more chance to fix the issue. Im not impressed thus far. This star is a half of a star

Our home warranty company, Super, sent this company to fix our HVAC that stopped working. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH SUPER HOME WARRANTY. They will tell you that the reviews on their side are great but as a consumer, you cannot see the reviews so I think it is all a lie. First off, this company sent someone and he was not professional, it could have been anyone who drove up to our place. He didnt have a ladder so he was unable to diagnose our issue and we couldnt be seen till two days later. When he returned he said it was not an HVAC issue but rather an electrical issue. It has now been 3 weeks since the original request was sent to SUPER HOME WARRANTY and the issue is still not resolved. Again, buyer beware, it is not worth your while. Save your money and hire someone of your own choosing.

We went through our home warranty who employed horizon for our air conditioner repair. My experience was good. Although I felt like they could have been more proactive with calls, they did answer my calls and respond to my needs quickly. The repairman that they sent was very friendly and explained what he was doing along the way. The first repair didn’t work, they needed another part but they got the part and came back 2 days later and got it fixed. Our air is running again yay!!. The home warranty paid for most of the repairs. We paid $385 they paid around $2000 or more. I recommend super home warranty and their partner horizon hvac in Fort Worth. I was assigned this company through OneGuard. The person shows up in his personal truck. No company vehicle or logo shirt. He does not have shoe covers. He looks at the AC working unit and says I need this vent added. Charges me $100. Then he checks the outside until of the AC not working. He tells me that it is low 3 lb of Freon. I ask him if he is going to check for a leak, He responds that it is only 3 lb so there is not a leak. He never even checked the unit for this in the attic. He charges me $280.00. Two days later my AC is back to blowing hot air. I called their office and the person was very rude and unprofessional. Told me to call my warranty company. I called them and I have still yet to hear from AC Horizon. I should have insisted on a different company from the beginning. The reviews on this company are consistent with my experience. My guess is that they are staffing this business with sub-contractors. There is no accountability. They just want the money from the warranty company and they do not care about quality or customer service.

Came to install a new furnace for us through our Super home warranty. Things didn’t feel right with our furnace and turns out Horizon DID NOT pull a permit with the city for the install even though it’s supposed to be pulled and didn’t notify us a city inspector needs to come out and check the unit (we found out through someone else)To top it off I’ve called 3 times, left 2 messages and cannot get a call back.

Talked to the owner Tonya after three weeks my ac unit stopped working again They sent a tech out to relook and said more parts needed to be replaced. Tonya rescheduled for the next day and first they said the tech had a blowout now they are saying they do not have the part in stock. I had to call to see what time the tech will be here to find this out. Then Tonya hung up after when I asked to talk to the service manager.They do not look into what causes the part to go out. Do not trust this companyThey finally came back out three more times and still cannot figure out the issue. Steve the service manager came out as well and said it needed a heat kit and also stated it’s too hot in the attic to fully diagnose. They came back with the heat kit and still not working.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Horizon HVAC and Tanya. The lengths they have gone to help fix a problem that was caused by a different HVAC company and the communication was both above and beyond, especially now a days. They not only fixed the real problem but they educated me and did not stop until it was truly fixed and not just a bandaide. Been working with this company for almost two years because our home warranty sends them out. They definitely take your money to make mystery repairs. Customer service is genuinely awful and they have no compassion to change how they treat their customers and provide service. I would not recommend this company to repair anything in my home, let alone flip the power switch to turn on my unit. Be mindful as this company has similar names in which they do business. Dont be fooled, when companies treat you a certain way, and take you for granted, believe what you see and take the time to find another company to do business with, who respect and appreciate your business and dollars.

**UPDATE- 2 months later** STILL WAITING FOR FINAL REPAIRS. 0 phone calls received about follow up information or apologies for delay**0 stars. My main complaint is the HORRIBLE customer service. They were NEVER on time and even though I was assured Id have a 30 minute warning call that never happened. NO communication. INCORRECT diagnosis. SLOW repair. I may leave my entire home warranty company if they do not drop this business as a partner. Their incorrect fix cost me hundreds in deductible costs when that wasnt even the problem. The second appointment and fix was a warrantied part that wouldnt have cost me anything. They just want $ and their entire business must be built on suckering customers who do not have a choice thru such home warranty companies. They wanted to downgrade my system with an older appliance because it was too high tech and hard. Oh, the incompetence.

They create mystery repairs and then (probably in conjunction with the home warranty company) charge you excesses. They charged us for things that they didn’t actually use or need because the warranty wouldn’t cover them. The technicians were nice and customer service wasn’t bad, but definitely a total rip off when it comes to price. It’s sad because you have families that literally just want cool air and are getting ripped off when they are already making good money off of the job.

Same story as everyone else. My AC was cooling during the night but not the day so I called Old Republic Home warranty. They brought Jose Hancock from Horizon HVAC to check. He filled the refrigerant and then suddenly said it made the coil worse and that needed to be replaced and left. This company has been delaying writing a report for 1 week and now the AC is even worse- it doesn’t even work at night. The house has been at 90 degrees for A WHOLE WEEK during the TX summer. I would call and every single day it’s the same excuse- they’re inundated with reports but will get to it by the EOD. I call the next morning and they said to wait by EOD. Same thing again and again. Our home warranty doesn’t do anything about this either. If they had told me this was the company they would go with, I would’ve took one look at the reviews and never went with it. This place is a scam and I’ll be calling the BBB.

The tech who came out to my house was very unprofessional and incompetent, instead of repairing my furnace he shorted it out, now a week later they come out with the diagnosis of total replacement when he previously said he only had to replace 2 parts.One guard the home warranty insurance is just as bad as them. Now they want me to pay $1200 in modifications. They are a pack of crooks. I decided I’m exposing them to the news so DFW will know the deceptive tactics they use.Please don’t waste your time or sanity doing business with them, they’re horrendous and their lack of urgency, will be the demise of this business.Stay far away from them. I was assigned this company through my warranty. They came to replace the condenser. After doing a poor job, they claimed that the coil needs also to be replaced even though it was 6 month old. They charged me $1050.00 out of pocket. I had a second opinion and was told that the coil can easily be fixed. When showing the contractor the requested items that charged me for, he was surprised to see to see that I needed a pan and a pan and a hanging kit ($425.00). The items are for coils located in the attic. Our was in the closet.I would stay away from this company at any costs.

Avoid this company at all costs. They create mystery repairs and then (probably in conjunction with the home warranty company) charge you excesses. Tech came out for 2 mins, then Im told I need a new system, with over $1500 of additional work not covered. He barely even looked at the part causing the issue. I had my guy come out - he took one look - noticed a couple of screws missing and loose, replaced the screws, fixed the issue right away. Not to mention they are incredibly rude and condescending on the phone and in person.

My home warranty assigned this company to fix our A/C. They came out on a Wednesday and told us our compressor was bad (the compressor had been replaced the previous summer). I called the next day to see if they had submitted the paperwork to my warranty for the new compressor. They said they would submit it that day. They didn’t submit it until Monday (5 days after they came out), even though I called each day about it. They stopped answering my phone calls after day 2. I ended up calling another company for a second opinion. This company came out within 2 hours of my call. The technician from Horizon wired my capacitor backwards! Horizon is either completely incompetent or intentionally scamming customers and home warranties. Do not use them! If your home warranty assigns Horizon, tell them you want someone else! They will rip you off or possibly damage your A/C. If you want someone to do it right, call A Better Deal Heating & Air. They have a $25 service fee and will be at your house that same day. I would have had to pay over $300 out of pocket for a compressor that I didn’t need. Instead I only paid $25.

I would not recommend Horizon to anyone. I was assigned Horizon after contacting my home warranty OneGuard. I was given a 4 hour window for them to show up and they showed up after the window. The workers showed up in a non-company vehicle, appeared to be very fly by night. Not at all the professional appearance I have seen with other HVAC companies. They looked at my unit for about 15 minutes and told me it was short 4 lbs of Freon. They said they would have to come back tomorrow because they didn’t have any FREON. How does a professional HVAC repair company not bring FREON to the work site? It’s like a plumber not bringing a plunger or a lawn service not bringing gas for the mower… the gentlemen were understanding with why I was upset and got the office manager to agree to only charge me for 3 lbs instead of four but wouldn’t come back until the next day. How lazy! I called the office manager and she was very rude. She immediately told me there was nothing she could do to make me happy… What? How about an apology? They don’t keep Freon on hand because it is so expensive… so many excuses. Not my problem is more like it. This company is sorry. Dont waste your time. I wish I would have read these reviews first. I contacted OneGuard and switched to a new company. I hope they stop using this company..

I would highly recommend Horizon AC and Heat. Israel arrived within the scheduled window of time and was very professional and nice. He walked me through some things I wasn’t aware of and was very knowledgeable; I learned a lot. He found the problem quickly and, while the issue wasn’t covered by my home warranty, I feel it was fair and reasonable. Really grateful to him and the rest of the people are Horizon for helping me get this repair done quickly!

Personally, I didn’t have the ghastly experience suggested by other reviewers when we were assigned these folks by our home warranty company. They could have been more proactive then they were when it came to letting us know when they were coming by, but in terms of repair quality and customer service, we have no complaints.Edit - I have to knock a star off this review based on the fact that their repair failed after a month or so, which they came back out and fixed.

Highly unethical company. Their estimate included unnecessary modifications and inflated prices. They estimated a $250 permit, but City of Dallas only charges $50. They indicated Flue modifications, Gas line modifications and other modifications that were not included in two comparison quotes by other HVAC companies. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!When called out for a RECALL, on the original service request, of which they were unable to fix, twice, they denied the recall request to charge me again. CORRUPT and UNETHICAL.

I called Landmark home warrenty to service my air conditioner for the summer. A guy showed up 1 hour and half late. He came in a Mustang not a service truck with no identification as with Horizon. He went up in my attic for about 2 minutes and did not do anything saying everything was fine. I watched him. Then we go out side for him to clean the system outside. I finally got a hose and water going for him to clean. He washed alittle and told me I was fine. He never offerred a invoice like all companies do for me to sign. Before when the home warranty sent someone out they took things apart in the attic and check everything. I knew right off he was not servicing my air conditioner. I called the home warranty to complain. Then I talked with Tayna at the Horizon Air and told her everything. She wanted to send someone out next week to service my air conditioner. At this point I did not trust them after all the reviews I had read after the technician had been here. She was rude and said they had a 4.5 star with Landmark warranty and I see we just can not please you. Now I have pay to get a company to come out service my air conditioner. She said the reviews out there were old and people can just be cruel. Well the first one I read was 2 months old and they said the person did not show up with a company truck and did not have equipment to service there air conditioner. I would not recommend this company at all.

This company was sent out to perform an HVAC inspection. The service technician was sent out twice and didn’t notice anything that would cause a burning smell. The technician also stated that the HVAC was “new” but the HVAC is not new and is over 10 years old. After previous inspections , this was the 1st time I had a technician state this information.To make a long story short there has been no resolve. The low star is due to the service I received from the company and my home warranty company. A different technician should have been sent out to get a different opinion; this is what the home warranty states they would request from the company.

The worst company I have ever dealt with! Their technician came out to do a repair and a day later the house was full of freon. When we called them back out the tech said he couldnt fix it for another 2 days. We have a 2 month old and were told that freon wouldnt be harmful. Then their office manager called us and told us Thats just the way it is. I would never recommend this company. Their service is appalling. I am more than happy to cut my losses with this company and pay someone AGAIN to fix it the right way!

Booked an appointment for a tune up on my HVAC. Confirmed appointment on 4/18 to be on 4/26 between 11am-3pm. At 1:25pm I sent a text asking if I would receive a call when they were on their way. At 2:06pm they responded with (in all caps) that they scheduled this appointment with another home owner. No accommodations other than we can try for tomorrow. Of course when i went to leave a google review I see their 1.5 star rating. Called the Warranty Company I went through and blocked this company from ever receiving my business again. Save yourself time and sitting around with a 4 hour window and go somewhere else as this company is unworthy.

Use this company at your own risk! My home warranty company sent them out and they stated I need a new air handler with added costs over $1000. I got a second opinion from a reputable company that over $600 of the added costs were definitely not needed. Home warranty company made me use company anyway and agree to all their costs, and they want the money BEFORE they do the work! Took a week to order parts, another week to schedule appointment. They told home warranty company they would schedule install for 7/1 and would call me to confirm, of course I received no call. I called to confirm and they said that it was not scheduled until 7/3. On the day of appointment, no show and no call. I called to be told they could not do the install in the rain (rained ant 8am and no rain the rest of the day). They rescheduled for 7/5. Second appointment for install- no show and no call. I called to be told they will try to come out on Monday 7/8. Every time you call you are placed on hold indefinitely 20-40 minutes on average. Asked to speak to a manager, but none were available. I would never use them if not for the home warranty company- unreliable, liars, rude, and disrespectful!

UPDTAE: The new compressor installed by these scammers just went out.Suddenly ac stops working, calls one guard they send these guys. Come in, takes two minutes and tells me compressor is gone and need to be replaced. Reluctant, I agree to the repair that that’ll cost me 1200 dollar even with warranty. Came in second time for a different unit, the unit was freezing up. They check and tell me refrigerant is low, don’t bother checking as to why it might be low and tell that i gotta pay 240 dollars to fill the system. Now fast forward 2 months that same unit is freezing again, I’m guessing because low refrigerant, BUT I WILL NOT HAVE THEM COME TO MY HOUSE AND fix anything. I’ve specially told one guard to never send these guys to my house again.call them at you own risk.

Fixed the unit according to them. A month later it stopped again. When the other company came out they told me the flue pipe was left undone pushing stupid carbon dioxide into our attic instead of outside which is super dangerous. This is why the unit was shutting off, it is smart enough to know this dangerous situation. They also put a 30 amp fuse where it should have been a 5 amp fuse. I should have known, the bonehead who came out was only worried about selling me a stupid system cleaning which was not needed. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!

How do I put this politely? R.I.P. O.F.F. First of all this was a $75 call through my home warranty company... which guaranteed service would be arranged within 24-48 hours. Work order placed Thursday 9 am. No word from Horizon by Monday despite leaving a phone message for them on Saturday. I called Monday afternoon and after being placed on hold for 12 minutes the only information was given was limited to We are trying to work out a schedule and will call you back this afternoon. He should be there on Tuesday. No call Monday afternoon so Tuesday at noon I called again. After waiting on hold only 7 minutes this time, was told they would come out between 11-3 on Wednesday (nearly one week after work order placed). At the time of evaluation of our AC ( which is new to us as we just purchased this house) an old unit, they offered to clean and service both the inside and outside units for $595! Thank you ... but no thanks!UPDATE: I still have significant complaints about Horizon HVAC. After waiting 6 days in 90-100 degree Texas weather they were finally able to send someone out to evaluate. They refused to check the refrigerant because the AC unit was dirty. I contacted a reputable HVAC contractor (Climate Express) and they evaluated the AC and cleaned it FOR 69$!! stating is was mildly dirty, expected for Texas. It was low in refrigerant and after they replaced it, the unit is working well. In the meantime we waited six days for Horizon to schedule the appointment and show up to do nothing except tell us the unit was dirty. I requested a refund of the $75 service call and if Horizon HVAC is the only option for warranty work, I will cancel the warranty through First American Home Warranty.​

They did a great job replacing my furnace! Had to make up a new transition to my Acoil but handled it perfectly. Even took time to straighten up and hang some of my flex ducts that were laying haphazardly in my attic. Great service. Will be calling them back out for future repairs or sevice!

So we used our home warranty to book them. First red flag was them not contacting using in 4 hours after booking to schedule a time to come out. My wife had to contact them because 24 hours later, they still did not reach out. Second red flag, the gentleman comes out, stays less than 5 minutes and tell me the AC is fizzy and leave, he did not verify to make sure its fixed and what do ya know, its not fixed. After calling several times only to leave voicemail after voicemail they finally return my wifes call. The person on the phone asked how was the service, not sure if they do not check the voicemail but that surely would have explained how the service was but she stated she would send somebody out Friday. The technician came out and stated it need another part and he would come out the very next day to fix it. Guess what, he did not call or show up. This is unacceptable as a business and not a way to treat customers. Be upfront, if you know your workers are not competent, lets start off saying that. Being in the law enforcement professional and a veteran, I dont have that option of screwing people over.

First American our home warranty company contracted this business to fix our 3 year old AC and this has been the worst nightmare EVER... we have spent over 60 days trying to get the damage they caused to our AC repaired and the problem still isnt resolved. They missed countless appointments with no calls and no shows, would show up hours later (with their family in the car), said they replaced parts that hadnt been replaced, every time they showed up they said something else was broken from a small valve, to Freon, to a compressor, one technician admitted that they ordered the wrong part and the company told him to make it work.We have begged and pleaded with First American to send us a new vendor to complete the job and we are told that its policy that this vendor (who destroyed our AC) has to complete the job.We had to get an outside ac technician to check the unit and were informed that so much damaged had been caused that the entire unit AC unit would have to be completely replaced. We sent First American those notes and they finally had another AC company come out and that company confirmed that wires had been cut, pressure switches had been bypassed, muffler removed and bi flow filter installed thus allowing debris to enter the unit. The new company First American sent out said there was so much damage done that they did not want to accept the job due to liability.Now we are at a point where we may have to seek legal action against our home warranty company and Horizon AC.I have had four homes covered by the First American warranty and this is the first time Ive had this type of experience with any of their vendors.Please do not use this AC company EVER!!!

If I could rate a Zero or less I would! Do not let this company do anything in your home. The technician was late and then I had 9 gallons or more of water pour through my ceiling lights form the A/C unit which ultimately damaged all the drywall on the ceiling. Of course this was a work order issued by my home warranty company First American. Do not use either of these companies. $600+ later out of my pocket all is finally fixed.

Absolutely terrible service. Sent out by home warranty. Put in wrong part, almost burned up my a/c unit. No appropriate response when I tried to explain problem, neither from Horizon or my home warranty. Called a local guy with excellent reviews and he took care of everything in under an hour and was very reasonable. I’m cancelling my home warranty contract. Total rip-off all the way around.

Horizon AC and heating is an absolutely horrible company they are slow to respond and has never arrived within schedule appointment window. Chelsea is by far the most rude and inconsiderate person Ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with, She believes that ignoring my call and placing me on extended hold is a viable substitute to actually doing work. Im sure shes a liability to an already dysfunctional business unlike Tasha who is a consummate professional and very courteous. If there was a negative score to be given they would get it. My advice is to Run not walk as far away from horizon AC and heating as you can get...

If there was negative stars I would chose that option. They do not call within the time assigned by home warranty people, you have to contact them....but good luck.... The tech finally arrived and left after fixing the unit but did not wait to see that it was actually cooling. This was a Thurs. I called Friday and did not hear back from them until the next Tues. when I called THEM and they wont come back till Friday which is over a week since they did not resolve the problem the first time. The tech was even trying to sell us services outside of the company for cash. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Then they sent a email saying tech unfortunately running behind I’m still on schedule for today and I will receive service. I called office bout 4:00 to check status. Office staff called tech and tech said he was in his 30 minute window and on his way. It’s 8pm. My air is out it’s 100 degrees in here. They office close at 5 no one answering the phone.. No one never showed or called. This company doesn’t care about their customers..
