J&G Heating and Air Conditioning

J&G installed new inside and outside A/C unit with new ductwork and new disconnect in October 2021.I woke up 1-11-25 with no heat.I called Monday 1-13-25 and made appointment for Wednesday (my day off)1-15-25.Tech showed up Wednesday, I followed him up in the attic, and he discovered the burnt wires and melted disconnect and told me that was from a power surge. Later that day I received the estimate from them for $750 to replace the disconnect and install surge protector. I took pictures of the melted wires and showed my neighbor(Who knows a lot more about electricity than I do) He advised me to seek second opinion that the wiring did not look correct to him, I informed J&G that they installed the disconnect and I wasn’t sure that it was wired right to begin with and they said well you’re welcome to seek another opinion, so I had to take the day off Thursday and called local electrician out($232)Electrician looked at it said this was not caused by a power surge, Was not wired correctly to begin with, and I was lucky it didn’t burn my house down.Large wire From breaker box(100 amp)was trying to be fed into disconnect that was too small for that wire so strands were cut (and ground) to make it fit.(As seen in pics)Then the wire coming from disconnect going into heater was too small, was only big enough to handle 30 Amps not the 60 Amp wire needed,which eventually over time heated up and melted to the point of failure (read notes by electrician) electrician gave me estimate of over $2000 to run new wire from breaker box with new breakers and new disconnect box and wires.I forwarded this information to JNG, Who claimed it wasn’t their fault and they would not warranty it(You can read their text to me) When I tried calling them, they would not answer phone, I left voicemail, asking to call me, which they never did.I’ve never been more disappointed with a company in my life. I would say stay away from this company as far as you can! If I could give zero stars, I would.I also called Tom Tynan(the home improvement guy on AM 610 radio) and explained the situation, he also said this would not have been caused by power surge and agreed with the electricians findings, and told me to report J&G to Carrier(the manufacturer of the unit)

J&G Heating and Air Conditioning has been a pleasure to work with. They installed 2 HVAC units in our home in 2023 and we have them out each year for seasonal maintenance. They are a family run business and are very easy to work with, friendly, and on time. I highly recommend them!

J & G helped me nurse an older unit through a couple of seasons when I needed it, and also helped with a new unit when the time came. They’ve been prompt, courteous and very tidy when servicing the systems

The owner Patrick, went out of his way to fix my 94 year old Moms AC on a Sunday. On a Sunday! His wife Gloria is also a pleasure to work with. Quality People! Honest.

Pat arrived much sooner than I had hope on a Saturday morning and replaced my thermostat when I thought my furnace was malfunctioning. I am always pleased with J&G. First class all the way.

J &G. has been my go to for several years. Even during the freeze they checked on me to make sure I was OK(I live alone) and always there quickly and efficiently. I had a problem couple of weeks ago. the thermostat wouldn’t go off they were there within the hour. It was a bad thermostat. What if they hadn’t come it kept going higher and higher. That piece of mind is worth Everything. Thank yall so much.

We’ve used J&G Heating & Air Conditioning twice and I truly appreciate them. I had about 11 different quotes some upwards of $40k from abacus. J&G had integrity and told be what I actually needed and answered all of my questions. They came with a competitive quote with what we actually needed. I didn’t feel rushed during the consultation. A few years ago they installed our new upstairs unit and we KNEW the downstairs would need to be replaced within 2 years (lol if not that same day). No pressure from them but just said they would be here for us when the time came. That day came last week. They replaced it and the ductwork quickly.They are really so nice and lovely people. I enjoy all of my interactions.Searching for someone to do your AC when it’s so hot can be daunting and sometimes feel defeating especially with the companies who have sales people who are looking for commission and don’t care about you.I’d recommend J&G to anyone every time.
