Jasmine the receptionist who answers the call is very rude and condescending. I requested for a service and my appointment was made between 8am-5pm. Mind you, i specifically said I am only available until 3pm. She called me at 4pm telling me they cant come because they are fully booked today. Like what is my appointment for? Nobody even gave me an update the whole day I was waiting. Atleast just a courtesy to their customer. He apology was fake and you can hear from her voice that she dont care about their customer. If I have a choice I wouldnt even want to deal with them anymore!
Weve been using Gold Rule for several years in 2 different homes in Houston. First to diagnose, repair and replace the AC coil in our attic. Since then weve had them come out twice per year for general maintenance and check ups. They ensured everything was up to par when selling our home before inspection, and did a general maintenance on our new home and found a gas leak.They are very quick to schedule appointments and solve any issues. Pricing is fair. Weve had Marlow as our technician all these years, we love the service he provides.

After our home warranty sent another company out to our new home to fix our air conditioner and they spent 15 min here told us nothing was wrong and took our money, I called Golden Rule to get a second opinion. Mark came out and was extremely knowledgeable and meticulous about trouble shooting our system. He found there was in fact a problem within minutes then tracked it down and had us up and running in no time. I will use Golden Rule for all my HVAC needs from here on out and recommend them to anyone.
The original air handler in our 38 year old house quit this past week. A friend of ours referred us to Golden Rule. I called them at 3:00pm and they were able to get a technician (Marlow) to our house that same afternoon. Marlow was very courteous and professional. He was very knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the issue and recommended a brand new air handler. We agreed that it made much more sense to replace everything rather than attempt to repair the existing ancient unit. After some bargaining a very reasonable price was agreed upon, the order was placed, and an installation crew scheduled for the next day.The crew that arrived the following afternoon was also very professional and polite. They worked very hard in the heat of the afternoon (thank God it wasnt July) until the job was done close to 9:00pm. The installation was clean and neat. Everything was brought up to code. They cleaned up and swept the floors on their way out the door. They went above and beyond. The transformation in my attic is amazing. We can see and FEEL the difference. Thank you Golden Rule!

Golden Rule really rocks! I just moved into my condo a month ago and my ac went out...not fun! Originally I went through my home warranty but they would not come out for two full days so I got online and found Golden Rule. They came out that very evening and had my ac up and running by midday on the following day. I cant say enough about their courteous, expedient and efficient service. Marlo works hard and smart. Serviced my old units for 4 years since owning this home. But this time I needed to replace one of the units coil and condenser. Very knowledgeable on various product choices so could make the right choice for myself with confidence. He helped me understand the system set up and how the devices send/receive signals. Golden Rule came to us through our home warranty when our a/c went out last week, and we were more than pleased with the service we received during the process. The technician came out and diagnosed the issue, and told my wife that we would be hearing from Ryan. Ryan came to our home and explained what was wrong with our current unit and was very thorough in explaining our options. We opted to replace the unit. After getting the financial piece set, Ryan set up an appointment for the installation crew to come out the next day. They showed up on time, and got right to work. Hector explained to me what they were doing at different parts of the process and patiently answered any questions we had. When they were done, they cleaned up, the crew left and Hector stayed behind to show me the work that was done and to answer any other questions. We are very happy with the service we received and plan to recommend Golden Rule to family and friends.

GR quoted a reasonable overall project cost, provided adequate manpower to get the job done on-time and provided a high quality installation. Subsequent to the installation completion date a quality control inspection was scheduled and performed to ensure the entire system was operating properly.I highly recommend Golden Rule for your next HVAC project! BUYER BEWARE! You may be happy at first, but my experience says you wont be happy later. Had a 3.5 ton AC and furnace replaced by Golden Rule in April of 2015, and if I had reviewed them then I would have given them 5 stars. The sales and installation folks were great to work with, but living with the results of their work has been disappointing. After approximately a year my new unit failed, and getting that issue addressed was a comedy of errors. It took several weeks to get a repair completed. I had to call numerous times to keep the repair process moving forward, and at one point heard the dreaded, I thought that was already done, you mean it is still not fixed!?! Post sales support does not seem to be a strong suit with Golden Rule. Despite that debacle, I still wasnt going to give them a bad review, but this morning I went to go investigate an issue am having with one of my two hot water heaters and have discovered that the new furnace unit (a horizontal unit, that replace a vertical stack unit) is effectively now a wall that prevents me from reaching my second hot water heater!! It is clear that the new furnace unit was shoe-horned into place without any thought whatsoever to the impact on serviceability of the other equipment that lives in the attic. Now what may have been a minor repair issue is a gigantic pain in the ass!! I would have considered using Golden Rule to replace my 5-ton downstairs AC/furnace which is definitely on it last legs, but there is no question I wont use them again now. To anyone considering Golden Rule in the future, you may be better off looking elsewhere in my opinion.
I saw a Golden Rule technician at my church and said I was having issues with my unit so he told me to schedule an appointment. I called and was quickly put on the schedule as soon as the weather got above 75 degrees. Ironically, the same technician from the church, Victor, came to my house, and he recognized me from before.He was very courteous, knowledgeable, explained everything and answered all my questions. He checked the outdoor unit, indoor unit, explained all the readings on the meters (and what he was trying to do). Before he left, he took the time to repair one of my valves that he noticed was leaking.My AC hasnt worked properly since it was installed two years ago. Im so grateful that they fixed this because this week the temperatures jumped into the 80s, and I wont be suffering this summer.
Golden Rule AC was suggested to me by my brother in the Woodlands. My air conditioner was completely non functioning. Golden Rule came out, suggested a system for my house and then installed that new system. They are professional from start to finish --plus--I felt completely at ease having them spend the day at my house. They are extremely fair in their pricing. The finished installation has worked perfectly from the day they installed the new AC system, and I would recommend them in every aspect of purchase as well as installation.

Watch out for this company! They boast about being honest hence their name, but they are far from it. Over charging is a basis for their business. I had them out to do a repair and their estimate was over 3 times the amount it cost me from another contractor. All the work done in the past continues to fail after installing two brand new units.

Golden Rule (Houston) does not care about residential clients and should stop taking them. They may be attentive to commercial clients, but if you are not a commercial client, you are not a priority to them and your job will be put on the back burner. They have no problem leaving you in the heat while they attend to their high dollar clients, endlessly putting your job off and giving you progressively later dates before they will get to you, and all the while, telling you about the commercial jobs they are busy with which are preventing them from getting to you. Theyve done that to me twice, now.I waited in the heat for over a week and a half before they showed up for a full system replacement (except for the ducts). The attic part of the install was pretty sloppy and the entire unit is slanted (I didnt realize until the other night that this causes at least 1-1/2 inches of condensation to pool at the low end of the pan and not drain). Now, 13 months later when my AC dies, Im looking at a week before they might be able to get to me and their labor warranty is only good for 1 year, so I will have to pay.Then, they totally gave me the run around about when they could come out. I call on Wednesday and they did send a tech Thursday afternoon who diagnosed a faulty TXV (Thermal Expansion Valve) but didnt have the part. Friday, the office says they have the part and will try to get someone over that day, quoting me $480 labor. Later, they say they will have someone over first thing on Saturday. Finally, I get a call saying they cant come out Saturday because weekends and Mondays are reserved for emergencies. I asked, And this isnt an emergency? (3rd day of no AC) The reply... No. That would be like a walk-in freezer. Exactly. Commercial. They dont care about residential clients.I call someone else who quotes me more than $100 less to fix the TXV if that turned out to be the problem. He shows up in 30 minutes, sees the system is overfilled, lets out some refrigerant, and the problem goes away. No more pressure ramping and the unit stays on. He didnt even charge me, saying to see what happens when its hotter out and to call him if the problem returns. The next day its hot and humid out, but cold and dry inside, and my compressor runs steady and quiet (it would become noisy and wouldnt stay on for more than 10 minutes before). He also pointed out many details about what a crappy install Golden Rule had done.So, I was running an over-pressurized system for more than a year. Was that an intentional setup for failure? Could be. Was the tech just incompetent or was he going along with the oldest HVAC scam in the book? Hard to say. Either way, they were going to leave me in a hot and humid house for minimum 1 week.Golden Rule my hiney. If by Golden Rule they mean leaving people to sweat for a week, because thats how they like it, and doing shoddy work, because thats all they would want, then theyve named the company well.
Golden rule was perfect for what I needed done. They installed two nest thermostats as well as added ducts to a room that needed more air. Great communication and quality work.
I don’t know how they are doing good yet . I did call the front desk get email to email then a plans to do the job one and haft month no one email back and call back . When I called to follow up the front desk so mean . She don’t want take more jobs. Nothing to hurt me only feel bad for the owner pay them but they don’t the right job. Customer service is lacking. When I called to follow up on my maintenance appointment that was never scheduled they made me call back the next month. The appointment is supposed to be scheduled by them, yet I had to schedule in August. Seriously they would not allow me to schedule the appointment when I called in July.
