CastleRock, let me start by saying we had a first class sales person by the name of Tien Pham. Honestly, integrity, and most of all a straight shooter as we say in Texas. From the beginning to the end he was there and so was CastleRock. From the Corp. office, Sales Person to the Construction manager, they were all part of the best home buying experience we could have asked for, not to mention, the home turned out perfect. Thanks CastleRock.3 year Review (out of warranty)It has been a good home, here are the issue that we have encountered.1. Kitchen cabinets are 2 different colors2. Exterior paint was either poor workmanship or bad paint. We had to repaint our entire house. Spotting all over the exterior of the house.3. Foundation of home has low spots in the garage where water would stand. (this was addressed under warranty)4. Entire inside tile flooring had to be redone, it was uneven and was tripping hazards.(this was done under warranty)5. Leaking roof where 2 pitches meet.6. Windows were replaced due to spotting in between glasses. (done under warranty)7. Front porch and back patio had to be overlaid because of standing water on the foundation to get it to drain away from the house. (done under warranty)Downgraded 5 stars to 3 starsWe just wanted to give an update on our CastleRock home, hope this help others.

My experience with this home has been nothing short of a disaster, and I strongly advise others to avoid making the same mistake. The lack of security is a major issue—my house was broken into and flooded. To make matters worse, there’s a massive stud poking out from the wall on the second floor, which was simply painted over rather than properly fixed.A friend of mine who purchased a home from DR Horton had his grading and yard drainage issues addressed immediately, but that was not the case here. The supposedly amazing warranty turned out to be nearly useless, as it doesn’t cover critical issues like poor landscaping, which led to flooding in our side yard during the rainy season with no drainage to protect the foundation. Despite these issues being present when we moved in, we were constantly told they weren’t warrantable. BTW i have security cameras installed and i can literally prove i hardly ever walk on that side of the house. EVERY other part of the lawn in the back and front are fine and is maintained. But the water issue is so bad that my grass is dying and they wont cover it!!!I feel scammed, especially after signing a waiver that prevents the builder from correcting their mistakes. The company’s focus seems to be on building quickly with zero quality control, as the subcontractors clearly don’t care about the quality of their work. Our second-story carpet is missing padding in many areas, leading to popping sounds and dead spaces where there’s no support at all.I wouldn’t recommend this company or any of their homes—the warranty is terrible, and the construction quality is appalling. If you’re considering a new home, look elsewhere. The fact that DR Horton provides better warranties and customer service than Castle Rock speaks volumes.

We are loving this entire process and Castle Rock and their team have been absolutely spot on. Answering all our questions and concerns and making us feel at home.

Greatly appreciate the dedication and commitment to get it right by Bryan Aguirre of Castlerock. The two-year warrant has been great since life throws curves and sometimes a year just isn’t enough to notice all the little issues that can come with a new build. Even with the two-year warranty…Bryan went out of his way to identify the root cause on a couple issues I had and get them fixed right. He is the fourth person to manage my repairs since I moved in and by far the best. All of the home builders will provide a similar home…it’s the person managing the build and making sure the trades are doing it right that really matters.

The purchase process of the house was handled in a very professional and efficient manner by the people involved in it. Andre Viruez was especially extremely helpful from day one until the day of closing. Thanks to him we were even able to make it happen 10 days sooner than the original scheduled dat. Great job! We were so pleased with Castle Rocks designs, high level of efficiency and customer service that we decided to purchase an income property less than two years after purchasing our home. The customer service we received with the income property was just as stellar as during our first build. Ana, Melissa and Nico are very personable and we felt very comfortable reaching out to them. They were always very accommodating and bent over backwards to resolve any issues that arose. We are very happy with the service we received.

We had bought a couple of homes and by far this has been the best experience we had on buying a home! Robert (from Columbia Lakes) and Ron were great. Having CastleRock as our builder has been nothing short of a complete disaster. We moved into our home a year ago and we have had issue after issue. The quality and craftsmanship is not lacking, it is completely non existent. The flooring has by far been the biggest headache. First the upstairs carpet was installed using the wrong tack strips so we had to have that fixed. A few weeks later my son was playing on the stairs and was able to stick his hand between the threads because they had just pieced pieces of carpet together instead of using long runs. Now the LVT on the first floor has to be replaced because it was installed without the moisture barrier in place. The floors are buckling all throughout the house. When I inquired if we could change materials when the flooring is replaced I was told that was against company policy because they were going through the claims department to have our flooring replaced, meaning no out of pocket cost for them. I realize the flooring issues are greatly due to the company they hired to supply and install the materials, but there is zero ownership or accountability for CastleRock. Every step of the way the only people inconvenienced is us and CastleRocks idea is making it right is redoing the work in lengthy time frames. No one seems to care the number of trades we have had in and out of our home since we moved in and the inconvenience for us to ensure someone is home to let the trades in. I would NEVER purchase a CastleRock home again and I caution anyone from using this builder. You will be left with nothing but headaches.

CastleRock Communities @ Pecan EstatesThis was me and my husband’s first time as homeowners. We were a little nervous about the process but our sales consultant, Ginger, and our construction manager, Daniel, helped make the process be less intimidating. We really loved how quickly they responded to our questions and concerns, it’s one of the things we admired the most. I definitely believe that Ginger & Daniel deserve the 5 stars.Unfortunately, the only downside we seem to have encountered was with the Design Gallery. It seems that the day of our appointment, we were helped by a trainee who didn’t inform us about the countless options we could have had. Like the double sink option in our second bath, or the rain gutter spouts, and a couple more options. We found out later on that it was too late to make modifications, since they had to have been done at our Design Gallery appointment.Please make sure that when you attend your appointment at the Design Gallery, you are aware of all your options and that the person who is helping you is well informed so that you do not miss out on all the numerous opportunities when upgrading your home.

Home built in one of their suburbs. Terrible company to work with. Terrible build quality. Zero pride in their work. There was a razor blade in the final walkthrough of my bathroom. They pulled out the razor blade with a knife and told me to paint it myself. Never work with this company.If you are willing to work with customers again you have my email. Apparently all of my requests were deleted due to none of them being in your system.

My sell consultant was Mat Peterson and he was amazing. Always very helpful and made each step of the process a very easy one. The house looks beautiful and he has been super helpful. We have a few punch items to get done and will be moving to an amazing hole in 2 weeks. I have full trust on him and his team. Job well done.

Eric Garcia has been a gem to work with and so incredibly patient with every single one of my questions. Building a home is overwhelming, but he has been so helpful throughout the entire process. But Castlerock builder in Carmel Community Pflugerville is amazing. Our Sales Consultant Larry Burklow is an amazing person from the time we signed our contract till the date of closing, he did support us all the way along. Castlerock had a new Construction Manager since the previous manager got transferred. My wife and I have been working with Zach Barnes from the Travis Ranch community. He has gone above and beyond to help us find our new home. As first time homebuyers, we had a lot of questions for Zach and he has always been patient, quick to respond, and very thorough. We thought buying a home out-of-state would be challenging but Zach made the process very simple! He made sure to call and text us with any updates. He even went through the house and sent us videos as the home was being finished up. Nothing but a great experience from start to finish! I urged people to stay AWAY from this home builder… they are a bunch of scammers, liars, crooks & very UNPROFESSIONAL! Honestly would not trust them to even build me a bird coop… my wife & myself had signed on a home to be built back in March of 23.. in the Lynnwood community in Baytown Texas. At first the process was great.. Gordon ( head construction manager over Houston ) & Mike Corrgian ( construction sells rep at Lynnwood ) we’re great guys to work with.. they only had about 7 lots to left to be built in this neighborhood & we were the first contract to sign out of the 7 lots.. fast forward to May of 23 we did our selections for the design Gallery wonderful people over there… from the castle rock personal they had given us hopes of our lot starting in about 2-3 weeks after our design gallery appointment.. needless to say this were things get HORRIBLE.. 2-3 weeks later nothing has happened & my wife & myself had continued to reach out to Mike & Gordon bout the status of our home… which in their reply was “ we are waiting on the city “ this conversation had transpired MULTIPLE times over the course of 4 months.. in beginning of June of 23 mike had notified us that our home was on the start list.. they began scrapping the lot to what looks like to set batter boards.. a week or two goes by & nothing else had been done to our lot.. come to find out we had been taken off the start list per Mike it was because the plans & permits still were not approved.. come beginning of July of 23 we had reached out one more time bout the start date.. again Mike & Gordon both blamed the City.. we’ll come to find out the city needed some documentation from them this whole time & Mike nor Gordon has sent them the documents… ( which this paperwork was needed during the permitting stage for EVERY home in the neighborhood )not just ours… so my wife & my self decided to cancel our contract with them & take our money else where.. we had our realtor contact Gordon & Mike to resolve that we would be canceling the contract.. ( which the contract states if we decide to cancel before our pre construction meeting & materials aren’t ordered, we would be eligible to receive our upgrade money back from design gallery, but doesn’t say we would receive our earnest money back ) which in this case we did.. Gordon had told our realtor he would be willing to give us ALL our money back considering the circumstances.. well fast forward to august 1st 2023.. they have decided to change their minds & not give us a single dime back.. ( which in all honesty I didn’t expect them too give us our money back, but when you tell someone that you would do XYZ for them then turn around & say nvm especially when it’s something of this nature that makes my blood boil ) they stated that we canceled one day to late ( which is incorrect which is in writing ) they just didn’t take us seriously from the start.So I URGE any of you to NOT do business with these people!

He was knowledgeable and professional throughout the whole process, and we put him through the hoops with lots of emails and inquiries into our home. The Construction Manager, Jose, really knows his stuff and made sure our home was perfect. THE HOME IS GORGEOUS AND WE COULDN’T BE HAPPIER!!!

We actually met with Peggy on the snow day! We explained that our situation was changing and we needed to find a house asap. She did have an inventory house available and we were able to walk through a home currently under construction with the same floor plan. It was simply meant to be... as the upgrades that had been chosen and even the interior/exterior color schemes were ones we would have considered. So far she has been very responsive to any of our questions and we were also able to do another walk through this weekend to take measurements to start planning furniture and such.

We have been extremely happy to purchase a new home in CastleRock Communities. Shatease Battle has been our Sales Consultant and she has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She is very professional, responsive, and ready to answer or find an answer to any questions we have had and a genuine, very nice person. On top of a great experience with Shatease, the homes are excellent quality. Even my home inspector gave kudos to the builder saying the builds are quality and far above average. We are excited about our forever home and would not hesitate to recommend CastleRock and/or Shatease to anyone.

Construction manager was not on top of his crews. He would never respond to my emails. Workmanship was poor. I was promised that things would get completed after closing and they never were. Upon submitting warranty requests for these things to be fixed, contractors lied to corporate telling them the jobs were completed. So after spending all this money on the house, I am going to have to hire someone else to fix the issues. This awesome experience of building a home was beyond disappointing.

We were excited about building our new home when we signed the contract. Everything was going smooth until we met with the construction manager Mike Garcia for a pre cover meeting. It was the most disappointing experience I have ever encountered. He was rude and unprofessional. He didn’t introduce himself when he arrived for the meeting. He acknowledged us then walked past us into the house.Several times during the meeting, my realtor tried to ask him questions. He repeatedly ignored him. He also told me he had to get to a meeting after mine which was at 3pm but when the time was set up, Mike stated he didn’t make meetings after 3. I tried to get one at 4 so I could come after work. He even suggested I try to come to a meeting on my lunch break?In regards to changes, it is impossible. CastleRock will constantly tell you it’s too late or the product has already been ordered. We asked to have a range hood installed in lieu of a microwave. It took over 3 weeks, several phone calls and emails including the design center, sales agent, construction agent, and their supervisor to accomplish this small request,I might add that our home is over 400k so I don’t believe CastleRock caters more to those who spend moreWe haven’t closed on the property yet. I am so disappointed in the way we have been treated, belittled and ignored. I would never do business with CastleRock again. The incredible service we received from Notting Hill in San Antonio was not reciprocated by the substitute construction manager - Anthony Graybill. He was incredibly condescending when speaking, did not allow me to complete a sentence, refused to answer simple questions, and refused to call in contractors to fix structural/warranted issues for a house that was less than one week old. Ultimately referred us back to Ben in order make sure our needs were met. I will never invite him into my home again and I hope that Castlerock holds their employees up to better, not only quality, but customer service standards.I overall rate this as a good value for the amount we paid. But if your customer service consists of people like Anthony Graybill, I will never recommend your product.

We just closed on our Castlerock San Marcos home in Sunfield today and I wanted to give John and our CM, Rodrigo, 5 stars specifically. Both were extremely professional, courteous, and communicative. Buying a new home isn’t easy and regardless of your builder, the process will never be without its hurdles. I urge all new home buyers to do your homework, stay very involved with your build, get a realtor, and make yourself heard if (when) there are problems along the way. Please do your research before moving forward with this builder. Besides the poor workmanship and builder grade materials in their homes, they really treat their potential buyers with very little regard. They lack transparency throughout the purchase process and in my case, pushed me to close on a date that they couldnt even be prepared for. I could go on and on but the verdict here is save yourself the unnecessary stress.

My fiancé and I experience had been impacted negatively in more than one way with Castle Rock. Our sales consultant was Scott Richard and the communication from Scott was little to none. Eventually, it slightly improved after minor discussions. In our initial conversation with Scott, we expressed a strict time frame, we was insured the time frame would be met and they failed to meet that. Starting the process in July 2020, we were insured our home would be ready in January 2021. We did not move in until the last week of April 2021 and were never informed of any delays concerning our home. No one informed us our home would not be done until we asked during our Sheetrock meeting the last week of January. That’s we day we were informed they’re pushing to complete our home April 2021. We used Castle Rock in-house lenders and they were not informed of this change either! We reached out to Scott and his boss, Brian Bass. Brian stated our house isn’t done because of an increase in sales and never showed concern in regards to the questions we asked concerning our house. He was very arrogant, unapologetic, and came across as screw you and your home. His only response was I can give you your money back. Informing him our family was in a hotel waiting on our house, there was no empathy. We contacted corporate 02/09/21 and were informed someone would call us. It’s 05/25/21 and we still have not received a call. Shocker. Not.We completed our 1st walk through of the home. There were many things wrong that needed fixing. Our fence is one of the things. There were a lot of damaged boards. Also the bottom of the fence is so high you can see in the neighbors yard without trying. We asked can the damage boards be replaced. We were told yes. We asked can our fence be move down to close up some of the space we were told the fence can’t move but they would add lots of gravel to fill in the holes.Closing day, we completed our final walk through and there were plenty of things that were not finish but we were told they would be finish prior to closing and the others that couldn’t be completed were already scheduled to be completed Monday. Fine. We was informed by Cameron that men were enroute to fix our fence and told us management approved for base boards. We were excited. Following closing we checked the fence and Lord behold, everything was the same! NOTHING was fixed. From April 23rd-May 24th we had been reaching out via email, texts, and calls in regards to getting our fence repaired. We received the run around for 1 month. We were lied to numerous times. They started to ignore us, and after continuously reaching out we’ve just received an email stating management denied approval for giving us baseboards they told us they had already approved.We do not recommend any dealing with this headache!!!

I Felt like sales dept wasnt a good advocate/knowledeable in helping me choose my dream home. Felt as if salesperson only made sales to meet their quota or their best interest. Salesperson didnt offer good advice, as a result we ended up paying more for less quality work. Now home have issues with too much settling leading to interior or exterior cracks, cosmetics issues, and more.Even Better business bureau cant help fix the problem as we are binded by a limited warranty agreement, which means home builder can only do so much after purchase.

When you buy a new home from CR check every little detail, like how is the wall behind your appliance. Mine, in my opinion, has a huge gap between the wall and floor that will not get fixed with caulk as Castle Rock told me.I recommend the buyer will check everything and submit a warranty but it doesn’t mean they will fix at your satisfaction.

Ms. Wayndlyn is the absolute best at what she do, she walked us through every step of the home buying process and made herself available anytime we had questions. She made our first time buying experience easy and worth it.

Castlerock is the very difficult to deal with once the contract to build your home is signed. The contractors they use are very underpaid and it shows in the work they perform. Their site supervisors are very overworked and have too many sites to supervise and the turn over is very high with the company. This leads to contractors getting by with sloppy work because the new site supervisors arent aware of the previous site supervisors work completed. Our own experience on a 6 month build included 3 site supervisors, this is really terrible in our opinion.They say they perform two independent inspections of your home but they will not release their own inspection results to the potential homeowners, hence why we hired our own. They really discourage using your own inspector as if it were a waste of money. For most people this will be their biggest investment of their lives and Castlerock expects homeowners to take their word for all issues brought to their attention. If you buy a home with Castlerock, we highly recommend home inspectors for every phase of the build, concrete pour, frame inspection, electrical, plumbing and final walk through.Be prepared to have all of the subcontractors leave their empty beer cans and beer bottles at every stage of the build, most likely because there is no supervision from the site supervisors who cannot keep up or just quit altogether. Even after bringing the beer can issue to the site supervisors attention, the salesman, nothing changed and we have plenty of photos to prove their contractors were responsible for all of the trash left inside and outside of the house and it wasnt just some random person leaving their trash at the site.Castlerock also pressures people to close on the home when it is not complete. This is very bad practice in our opinion, we have noticed some of our neighbors closed on their house and their sod wasnt even in place yet? They tried very hard for pressure us to sign for an incomplete home (offered us a gift card?) but we resisted until the majority of the house was complete. Some of our neighbors are still waiting for their punch list to be complete and have lived in their homes for a year or more?DO NOT CLOSE ON YOUR HOME UNTIL ALL ITEMS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED ON THE PUNCH LIST. THEY CANNOT MAKE YOU SIGN!We will never purchase a home with Castlerock again, they have serious issues with turn over and bad contract workers who do the bare minimum. We could go on and on about our experience but it would take me at least 50 pages to note everything we experienced. BUYER BEWARE has never been more true than dealing with Castlerock homes!

There is no worse feeling than buying a $246,000 home, largest purchase most people make, only to be belittled with if you would of gotten a more expensive home. What the article is about The customer service is by far some of the worst. I got everything from, its just spec to if you would of bought a more expensive homeWe bought the Cobalt series and then added lots of expensive upgrades, one being the upgraded tile. In the master shower, they add one triangular corner piece, like a soap dish, to put things on since they are bare walls and there is no where else to store things in the shower. With there being two of us and her having shampoo, conditioner, razors....etc....one was not alot of room, so I asked if I could get one or two more added. This was asked of the site manager Justin while the tile workers were there. The response was a simple email no per spec.I called our salesman Admir, who said he would look into it. This got a worse response when he told her, if you would of gotten a more expensive home, they would have more time to add things. (Mind you this is one or two triangle pieces of tile, where the tile guy is already on location with alot of triangle pieces of tile). So. Now Im made to seem degraded because I got a 245,000 house where people that buy 300,000 houses would of gotten that little triangle of tile.I called customer service and she didnt understand the simplicity of the task and just kept saying, they cant change the floor plan. (Again, just adding a little glue to a guy already on location with the glue). Im not sure but maybe a 3 minute task with no extra product cost involved.I was then referred to the site manager, Danny, who changed that even further by quoting the amount if time involved and the cost. I asked what the cost was, and he stated I will have to call the contractor to see how much they charge to send the guy out to install it. Again, belittled feeling, as the guy was on propertyinstalling the tile the entire 4 days of these conversations, there would be no need to send anyone anywhere. Now I was belittled into thinking that this one or two triangular quarters size tiles was going to incur a $350.00 charge.I am not asking to repaint the house or add a 3rd car garage, change the floor plan or the structural integrity.... just a small inconvenient piece if tile. Now that I know that they would of done it for a more expensive house, where they have more time to build them, I know that customers with the more expensive houses are treated different. I have never had such a poor customer experience, with any Company ever, over 3 minutes of a build.Customer service says alot. I went to Gringos last week and ordered the plate with taco, cheese puff and 2 cheese enchiladas, but asked for one beef and one cheese instead, waiter said yes, and I was happy. Gringos can do it for a $9.99 sell but Castle Rocks customer service skills falter over a $246,000 sell. Wow.

CastleRock and Peggy are nice to work with the purchase. They understand customer concerns and work accordingly. Hope to see our post purchase will be good.

Beware! Dont make the mistake we made by having our home built by Castlerock Communities. I really dont know where to begin, however it started out great and then everything went downhill. When we started our contract last year in 2016, you had to provide your own sod. It took Castlerock forever to get the grounds ready for sod. The contractors left so much trash in the yard, including trash from their lunch, material, bricks, concrete, etc. and they graded most of it into our property. Concrete from where the house was bricked was all around the property. Castlerock sent contractors out several times and never completely removed all of the debri, however we finally had the sod installed anyway. We have cracks in the foundation on the back patio, front patio and in the garage. They poured the concrete driveway on a day after it rained and it was flooded, so the concrete was mixed with water and it pushed most of it out, which will probably cause a problem later. Castlerock had to smooth out areas around the foundation that were cracked and with broken concrete. We paid extra to have a brick wall installed in front of our house with a wrought iron gate, which it took them forever to repair the gate and get it right. For months, we couldnt lock the gate, because they kept putting the wrong locks on the gate. During Hurricane Harvey we had rain to come into the cracked foundation of our garage back door. Now after living in our home, less than 6 months, we have had ants to enter through a caulked area of master bedroom closet. All of the caulking in the house is cracked and pulling away from the walls and flooring. The caulking is a cheap grade that collects dust. All of the molding in the house is cracking. Castlerock is telling us the house in settling and thats the reason for the cracking of the molding and the caulking issue is maintenance that should be done by the homeowner. This is poor construction by Castlerock. They use cheap contractors and over charge you for their homes. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to purchasing from Castlerock. If you are thinking about it, dont do it. If I could do it all over again, I would have used another builder to build on our property. They have horrible Customer Service and do not think of their customers as their best interest. I plan to contact a Castlerock Executive, however based on reviews, they are not help as well. Im praying we can get our issues resolved and hear from an Executive. If an Executive is reading this, please contact me. Thank you!Extremely unhappy Castlerock Homeowner.

Piss poor customer service and the construction workers throw trash everywhere. They are building a home next to ours and I just found a strip of roofing nails in my yard. The workers literally had to throw them into my yard because it was not anywhere close to that house. They also broke the fence between the two homes, did anyone bother to stop by and have the courtesy to let me know? Nope, I found out when my 15 pound dog jumped up on the fence and it nearly fell over. Thankfully it wasnt my toddler, he could have been seriously hurt by all the nails sticking out of the boards. I tried to complain to the office and all the lady told me is that it will continue to happen until the house is completed. She also said that there is really no way to know who broke the fence but they would never close on a house that has a broken fence and assured it will be fixed eventually. Im so glad she completely missed the point of my frustration. I would never buy a Castle Rock home just because of the service I have seen and received so far.

Do not pay contractors in a timely manner. You do the work, but don’t know when you getting paid for your hard labor. They still mail checks which is out with the old. IC are still important CastleRock, regardless if not considered an employee. IC would like to know when they getting paid, just like your staff.

After having secured the sale, there were details to repair in the house that could be carried out in the first weeks of being inhabited, both the seller and especially the construction supervisor did not answer the emails. The random verbal response was what we communicated to corporate.

Buyers beware, I placed a contract for one their houses located at 718 yawl Court Crosby Texas. The lender asked for 2 more days to finish paperwork.The sales guy , Mr.Craig Lobel cancelled the contract.Then just 10 minutes later called me saying he would sale the houses to me for $10,000 more than what I was buying it for $215,000 which was the original contract.I asked for my money back b this date I havenent gotten it.I am a senior citizen and are crooks out to deceive and full of greed.This builder never returned my money to date.However,I know that God will take care of the situation.

Purchased a home in Tomball, I have lived there 2 months, the sidewalk, driveway and garage has cracked. Arch way on front porch, bricks already cracking. The foundation in back of house has stated to chip away and can see hurricane straps, back porch has crack in it. This has not been an good experience with this home. If i ever buy a another home it will not be with Castle rock.

My husband and I went to Castle Rock Riata West area. After giving the money things were not the same. We were not told everything up front. In that same week we wanted our money refunded. We were told we will and its been almost a year now and still have not gotten our refund. we have been given the run around. Phone hung up in my face. wont call back when he said he will call us back. 500 dollars is not chump change. How can you take someone money like that and nothing is been done? No one wants to give co-orporate number to you. This is not good business at all. I am thinking of going to the media on this issue.
