When you purchase oxygen or acetylene bottles here, request full ones. Honestly, Ive always felt like that was implied. I guess empty ones are an option now.

We have been doing business with Baker getting parts and full units for about 10 to 15 years. We have always been tax exempt. And have always given our Texas resale certificate when needed. Today I was quoted over the phone for a part that I needed, went in to pick it up and pay, when I was told I needed to pay taxes. I inform them that we have always been tax exempt and the last time I purchased was February 2022 and I purchase was tax exempt. The man, doug, insisted that I was taxable. I told him I would go get my tax exempt paper and give him a copy if they needed an update. He said well theres nothing I could do your taxable. As I walked out the door he said something very rude under his breath that I will not post here. When I came back in there was a lady and a red shirt who said she could send it into corporate however they cannot give me tax exempt today. I said thats fine I will email and get my taxes back. I informed her that the desk should know how to handle that situation and inform their customer how to request taxes refunded. The lady went on to say they need an update annually, which we have never done in the many years we have done business there. She proceeded to tell me that they lost over $550,000 in taxes that they had to pay to the irs, which is something that they should not be telling their customers about, very unprofessional. I will be calling corporate. They were absolutely absurd and obnoxious to do business with.
