I had a great experience with AAMCO - Veterans Memorial location despite the challenges posed by my warranty company. They kept me informed every step of the way and showed genuine sincerity throughout the entire two-week process—delays were no fault of theirs. They worked diligently with my warranty provider until everything was resolved. The only minor downside was the credit card fee I had to pay, but it was minimal compared to the cost of the replacement transmission. Overall, excellent job! While I hope to NEVER need your services again, if I do, I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

They take forever to diagnose your cars here. Then only the owner David is allowed to give you your price even if it’s done. They don’t replace transmission they rebuild them which takes more time and money.

David and team replaced my transmission in my truck, they were very forthcoming about the price and the timeline for it to be fixed. They kept me posted during every step of the process and it could not have gone any smoother. Some of the best customer service around. I highly recommend getting your vehicle fixed here.

Brang in my 2016 Q50 for what ended up being a torque converter failure and this is by far the best shop Ive ever used hands down. If youre looking for an honest, family owned shop that delivers quality work and keeps their word, this is the place.I was skeptical of my auto warranty company paying their portion, and Dave worked his magic and made it happen. Dawyne did excellent quick work with the transmission and it feels great just in time for the weekend. This is a great place to get your rig worked on. This shop has been around for a long time and have awards to prove their service record. One of my aluminum AC lines had a 2-3mm cut. It was from my dual battery mounting bracket rubbing on it. I have a 2002 Jeep Wrangler and they have discontinued making parts for this AC system. This Ammco shop, was able to find a wielding shop that could repair the line and they did so. I am very happy with the work and I now thanking the Freon Gods for the gift of cold AC while rolling down these hot Texas streets. Mind you, this repair was not cheap. It was done correctly and in a timely manner. Above all, I will have peace of mind down the road, knowing this repaired AC line comes with a 1 year warranty as well.

Just got my vehicle back. Best customer service you will get for your transmission. Very clear and very professional with everything. Dave is a great guy and Derrick I believe are two peas in a pod.

David Hayden, franchise owner, was very courteous and informative during my initial visit. Work required on my vehicle was thoroughly diagnosed and explained before the repairs. They later rebuilt my transmission and transfer case on my 2006 GMC Sierra crew cab. They provided updates on the repairs. I had to return a couple of months later due to a leak. They were very apologetic and jumped on diagnosing the issue. Repairs were done and a full explanation was provided to me. I greatly appreciated them covering all repairs per their original repair warranty.Its hard finding a dependable vehicle repair shop and I am pleased I found this place. I highly recommend this repair shop. I will definitely use them again.

I was kept up to date from diagnosis to repair and everything was transparent. The best thing about this location was the service. I was quoted a price but after it was done I paid considerably less. Don’t know any places that have this level of integrity , reliability, and customer service.

The service here was PHENOMENAL! Dwayne and Dave were so efficient, polite, and always kept me updated on the progress of repairs on my vehicle! This was by far the best mechanic shop I have encountered !!

It’s so hard to find good mechanics in Houston nowadays!! My husband took our 2009 Lexus here for a wobbling issue. They changed out the tire rods and it’s still shaking terribly. They couldn’t have diagnosed this or checked it afterward! A waste of money and time!! So frustrating!! Refund me please! Bring back good mechanics! 0/10

I had a great and friendly experience with David. He had my transmission fixed in the time that he stated, and Ive had no further issues. He has a great mechanic by the name of Dewayne that really knows his stuff.

Customer service was great. Very friendly people. Brought my car in with check engine light. They apparently couldnt find or fix the problem. All they said I needed was a fitting was loose needed tightening. Completely unrelated to the code I scanned. Disconnected my battery, made code go away temporarily. Check engine light was back on before I got home. Waste of time and money on a rental car. Service was friendly though

Had my truck transmission rebuilt back in early May. Price was reasonable and repair only took a couple of days. Dave the owner was helpful and friendly. Took a trip up Oklahoma on 6/4. Had a great time and truck ran great.

Dave who is the owner of this place didnt care about his customer. He sounds professional but is not. I took my car to auto zone and they diagnosed a problem with the transmission. So I told that to Mr. Dave. He said they had to diagnose it themselves so they did and called me and told me that it was a motor problem not a transmission problem. He charged me $520 for fixing the problem. Two hours later the light came back on and took it back to him, the next day he called me and said it was the transmission that wasnt functioning properly. He said we cant mess with the inside of the transmission, you will have to take your car to Ford. Not professional at all.

This location of the AAMCO car care center is superior to any other repair shop we have used on our many cars in the last 50 years. Dave has been our go to man to get honest advice along with his on hand mechanics. Hats off to each of these certified car care technicians. We have used this location over 10 years and will continue to do so. Over 5 stars!

My experience was very pleasant. They kept their word and did what they said theyd do. I spoke to the owner of the establishment and he was very professional. He was attentive to my concerns and assured me that once they found out what the problem was theyd call me first before continuing. Once they were given the green light they fixed the problem and I had my car back the same day.

I have used this place for many years their services is amazing. Im never disappointed in the services. Dave is so understanding and helpful. They offer a payment plan to help with expenses. I approve this message.

I brought my truck here because I was getting a shuttering feeling/rpms drop while driving between 60-70 mph. I dropped the truck off to get it diagnosed. I received a call stating it’s the transmission need to be rebuilt. No problem go ahead and fix it, I picked the truck up it’s doing the same thing Dave states they need to readjust somethings, no problem I bring it back. I picked it up once again it’s doing the same thing. I called Dave I bring it for the 3rd time now they saying I have a misfire 6 & 7 they replaced 3 spark plugs now he’s saying it’s a engine problem. Now I spent 3500 on a transmission rebuild but still have the same problem I brought it in for. He needs more knowledgeable people there and more help he’s losing it

This place was the best place I have ever tooken my car to get it fixed . I took it in last week and Dave the owner personally called me every time to keep me posted about my car. I drove across town to have my transmission checked. Mr. Hayden and his group were honest and efficient. I have a German car, and the transmission had to be rebuilt (thank God for a warranty). The car drives like a dream.Thanks Guys!Michael L

Almost everything is working ok.About half of the time when I attempt to start my vehicle, it will not start. I have to place the gearshift in neutral in order for my car to start. This has never been an issue prior to my transmission being rebuilt.At the same time, this should be a very simple correction/adjustment. Im going to call the Mgr. of that location. He should not have to do more than adjust a cable or sensor. Right now, half the time my car is thinking its in a gear other than park.Everything else appears to be working ok.

Aamco is NOT a good place to take your vehicle!!! If it is your ONLY vehicle like mine is, they want to keep it for days until they can get to it using their NUMBER system...they wont tell you anything over the phone, not even a ballpark figure even if it is something simple🙄they want you to bring it in so they can look at it, but it takes at least a day to look at it. I dont have that kind of time..maybe you do. I STRONGLY DO NOT..BY ANY MEANS go to Aamco transmissions on Hwy.249!!!

We have used the Veterans Memorial AAmco for total auto care of our Honda Oddessy. Oil changes, transmission work, power steering pump and more. We will be able to get every mile out of our minivan.

I just wanted to say Dave and his employees are good honest people, and do great work. Ive been dealing with this shop for a little over a year and Ive never been dissatisfied.

Tried to get a quote on getting a water pump done but was told they dont do quotes over the phone and i have to bring the car in so they can see whats wrong doesn’t make sense if im telling you what i need done

Very poor customer service. Walk in and was told to sit down without a greeting was told told the manager was the only one I could speak too but he would not be in until 10:30. Just needed a fluid change. Heard really good things about this location maybe they were just off today .

They replaced the carrier bearing. I was originally told it was the torque converter and it was expensive. But I went to AAMCO for a second opinion and found out it was only a carrier bearing.

Bad experience, I took it to get it repaired because of that problem and its still the same, I paid 3800, I already took it under warranty and it doesnt cover it, but of course they say they can fix it but they need more money, now I have to be on the lookout since that problem can overheat the engine, so stay away if you dont want to lose money, September 27th I bought it because of more failures, now they want to change more parts to charge more, they only guess with the work, and then they want the mirror and say that it wasnt them, theres no security either. They have cameras, thats what they say, 4300 paying and my car doesnt work.

A piece of advice: Take a complete video of your vehicle when you leave it for repair, they hit my rearview mirror and say that they didnt go and coincidentally they dont have cameras!Im sure it wasnt damaged!It doesnt seem fair to me that they do this and of course they charge you before delivering your vehicle.And I went to the office and they told me that they wont do anything for me because supposedly that employee who repaired my truck has been with them for 14 years and he says that they didnt damage the truck there and for that reason alone they didnt want to take responsibility for their acts and they say that they did not take it to the chap to repair when we saw that it was completely inside, their word against mine.I dont know why they respond so kindly if they wont take responsibility!
