I highly recommend this company. I have used them several times this past year, I have never called about the same issue and am always satisfied. I usually receive service the same day. Everyone is professional, friendly, and responsive. The pricing is honest and fair. Dont look any further for your HVAC needs!
Our furnance went out during this current freeze, great service from beginning to completion. Great price, company went over and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend for you ac/heater needs
I had a 5-ton and 3-ton AC system installed 2 weeks ago. I cant thank Michael and David enough for their professionalism, pricing, and utmost customer care. I highly recommend them for your next project.
I will always use ACS for my AC work. Their technician David is just amazing. He totally understands the systems, works really hard to balance the system, and do everything to give the customer a top notch system. These guys Rock!
We have been using ACS for years now and I will never use any other service. Mike answers my calls immediately and comes out to access whatever is going on and fixes it asap! He remembers his customers and their equipment and his prices can’t be beat! Mike is amazing, kind, knows how to get the job done asap!!! I will never use another service and I suggest you contact him for your a/c needs! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this company! Even in the summer when he is super busy he doesn’t leave you waiting!!!! Thank you Mike for taking such great care of me!!!!
The technician was timely and very efficient. He fixed my issue and gave great information on my unit. I am very thankful that he was so attentive. Houston summers are unbearable without working AC. Thanks ACS!
Have used ACS for commercial and residential properties. Mike Phan knows his trade very thoroughly! He is very detailed and offers his professional guidance as we navigate deficiencies in our HVAC systems. His proposals are detailed and it helps us as we make informed business decisions. We will continue to use ACS for all of our HVAC needs!
I have to write a new review for ACS to describe another experience with the company. Today, the A/C was running but I noticed that it was warm inside the house. I checked the thermostat and it was 79 F despite having a setting of 75 F. I checked after 30 minutes and saw that the temperature was rising - it was now 80 F.I sent a text message to ACS ( Mike Pham ) about the issue. I waited a bit for a reply because it was a hot and humid day in Houston and technicians are very busy. After waiting for sometime, I received a call from Mike saying that hes sending a technician shortly.Within 30 minutes, the technician was at the door. He went to the backyard, inspected the A/C unit and performed the work. I had cool air back in the house. The ACS company, Mike Phan, the team have all been very professional, transparent and wonderful to work with. I only have high praises for this company and its staff. I dont want to experience any more A/C or heating issues. However, in case I have any problems in the future, Mike is already aware that Ill be calling him again... and probably many times...I appreciate the quick and professional service that ACS has given me over the years. Thank you very much, Mike and the ACS team.
ACS Absolute Comfort Heating has been a reliable choice for HVAC, providing honest and efficient work at reasonable. Their team members, Mike and David, stand out for their great service. I have been a loyal customer for years and have always been satisfied with their work. Highly recommend ACS Absolute Comfort Heating for all your heating and cooling needs.
SCAM alert. The technician reported to my home warranty that my condenser was bent through not normal wear and tear and needed replacement when the unit sat completely untouched looking brand new and not bent at all. He also reported that my compressor was shot.Another technician from a different, non-scam business came and confirmed that not only is my condenser perfectly fine, the compressor is also working and the problem is a coolant leak, which ACS had failed to report. The leak is obvious as you can sea the cooling liquid on the ground below the location of the leak. The ACS technician also left the unit running full blast which the other better technician said, because of the leak, was at risk of *actually* causing damage to my compressor. In short, never ever do any business with ACS. If your home warranty send them to you, demand another one.edit: This is not between me and my warranty. The technician from ACS made a WRONG diagnostic.
Very upset with this company. I bought my first house a month ago. I have an inspection report where the AC was performing perfectly. Then, it went out. My home warranty company contracted out this company to come diagnose the problem. The technician, Andy, said I had a leak in the condenser coil and it needed replaced. He quoted me $4,500. No problem, I thought as this should be covered by my warranty. The next day upon checking with my warranty company they say the report ACS submitted shows this is a pre-existing condition, and therefore is not covered.I have the inspection from just a month and a half prior showing a perfectly functioning AC. How is this pre-existing and how can ACS assume that? I called ACS and asked them to send me a copy of the report that was submitted to my home warranty company. They were unable to provide me with that information.I requested a second opinion through my home warranty company. The other AC company came out and the technician could not find ANY leak whatsoever. He literally was working on it for 2.5 hours trying to find the supposed leak that ACS reported. The problem he identified was the capacitor needed to be replaced. The capacitor was replaced and now my AC is working perfectly. Did the leak patch itself up? Lol.This company incorrectly diagnosed the problem and then tried to overcharge me on repairs. I suspect it is because I am a young woman and perhaps thought I didnt know any better. I am extremely unhappy and would not recommend this company to anyone! I can’t believe I had to pay a service fee for terrible and faulty service.ACS replied to my review and stated that just because it isnt covered with my policy doesnt mean they give incorrect diagnoses. However, that is exactly what happened. I understand that not everything is covered. But the problem I had was completely missed and made out to be something else and that is why I am leaving a review.
Loved my service and will be using them again with any future issues!
This company has been contracted through my warranty company American Home Shield for my broken AC. Temps inside my house have reached 97 degrees I have a young medically dependent child in the home and this company has no sense of urgency. Took a while for American Home Shield to get in contact with these ACS for approval of my service. Once approved thru the warranty I was told ACS would contact me to schedule the repair. No one did. I sent a text message which shows it was read by Ismary, but no one responded. I called and spoke with the receptionist who took all my information and said someone would call back. No one did. I call the next day and left my information again no one returned my call for 3 days. In the middle of a heat advisory temps outside being 110 degrees! I finally called American Home Shield to request another contractor although it would cost me another $125 and finally American Home Shield was able to teach ACS and now they have to order parts and wait for them to come in. I’ve been without air conditioning nearly two weeks. Still no resolution as of yet.
I have lived in the Houston area for almost 10 years, and Mike Phan at ACS Absolute Comfort is one of only a few contractors who I trust completely to figure out what my problem is, tell me what it will take to fix it, and then do the repair at a fair price and on time. Mike has been servicing my HVAC system at 2 different homes I have lived in for the past 3 years. Just today he came to my home and fixed a problem I had with a clogged AC drain pipe that I had tried to fix on my own without any luck. He quickly took care of the problem and showed me what he did, so if the pipe clogs again in the future I will know how to fix it myself. He also told me how to keep the pipe clean so its less likely to clog. If you have any problems with your heating or cooling, just call ACS Absolute Comfort and ask for Mike Phan. He will take good care of you.
ACS provided outstanding service to include excellent customer service, quality products, punctuality, professional knowledge, great value, fairness, integrity, and trustworthiness. David was very knowledgeable and patient, while I asked her numerous questions and provided clear and concise responses. I will definitely continue to use ACS for ALL my AC/ heating needs and highly recommend this company. ACS has restored my faith that professional AC/ heating companies still exist. Thanks for all you do!
So Ive seen all the bad reviews and attempted to have someone else come do the work, but it was several hundred dollars over my deductible from AHS insurance, so I went on and stuck with ACS.Andy, my tech, replaced a part and had my AC working within 10 minutes. I guess I lucked out. Quick and easy fix, and he had the parts already.Ill update if anything goes wrong.
Do not use this company they are untrustworthy. They will try to crack you over the head on pricing. The flat out lied to my face. Got two other opinions totally different from what the diagnosis from the first guy told me here. The seconds were the same thing. They are also willing to do the work honestly and this company is a rip off. I will be taking my business elsewhere and definitely not recommending this company to any friends or family or neighbors. The communication with this company is absolutely horrible as well. Good luck getting anybody on the phone after they come to your house fair warning, and do not use this company. If you had a good experience, they probably duped you.
This company has provided the worst HVAC service ive had yet - and given my ongoing HVAC issues, Ive experienced ALOT.+ they have terrible communication and poor response times - I was assigned to this company on a Mon and wasnt able to get an appointment scheduled until Wed for them to come out Thurs. My AC stops cooling intermittently and Ive had temps inside reach 89+ degrees so slow response time from this company is actually pretty significant. They have an answering service that takes your info and advises that someone will follow up.l reached back out Thurs about the diagnosis from the tech who came out and til today (Sat) have had no follow up+ they provide terrible service - the tech (Kenny I believe) spent about 15 mins looking at my system (Ive had techs out who spent 2hrs+ looking into everything) and came up with a totally bogus issue. He said my compressor is bad. When i questioned this, he told me I could get a second opinion but there was nothing else he could say. He then told AHS that the damage he noted was due to not usual wear and tear meaning that they would not cover the repair. I sent the picture of the damage he noted to two different HVAC technicians who were like 1) thats not extensive damage 2) it wouldnt cause the compressor to overheat and stop working and 3) that it looked like pretty common wear and tear. Further, having looked at my system themselves, they said theres no way the compressor could be bad given the pressure levels they noted and the fact that fluid was still moving through it.TLDR - this company is a joke, Kenny the technician sucks
Thanks to Mike, he came out same day for service call and returned early the next morning with part to get my AC back up and running. He was very polite and professional also quick service. Thanks once again Mike.
This company’s technicians are a joke! They only provide bandaid service to get your claim money. The last technician was rude and not personable. He left our attic seal open causing hot air to come back onto our house. He told my husband one thing (that our condenser was going out, he would request a replacement, and to cool it down with the water hose if it over heated again), but reported something completely different (that our unit was damaged—a lie!) to AHS causing them to not cover our claim. It appears this company is out to get your money in their pocket. We will never use them again.
I had American Home shield send a company to check my A/C last week and they told me we needed a stage two compressor replaced, which they don’t make any more, so the cost was going to be about 15k per the tech. Got a second opinion with ACS Absolute comfort and the repair tech with this company named V took care of my TRANE a/c unit within 20mins blowing cold with nothing to do with the compressor. ACS is my a/c company. I’m done with lies.
This company came out on Thursday, June 15th through AHS. Our home was 80+ degrees. Andy stated that there were issues with compressor and evaporated coil need to be replaced. I asked him if he could provide me with an estimate and he said that he had to wait for AHS. Mind you, its literally 100 degrees outside and I have kids. There was no urgency at all. By the next Tuesday I still hadnt heard from them. I called them twice and again, no urgency for an estimate. I already paid $125, so it didnt make sense to go to another company. I called on Tuesday and again, there was no urgency. The lady said she would have someone call me. Never did. We scheduled a follow-up, since AHS still wasnt showing anything in the system. They were supposed to come Thursday, June 22nd, but ended up cancelling the appointment without noticen and decided to finally send the invoice, which was outrageous. So we have wasted a week of our time in 100+ degree weather dealing with this terrible company. Definitely would not recommend.
My technician was Andy and he was awesome. I was skeptical about using my warranty because of previous reviews. I’ve even had similar experiences my self with another company but I was desperate and it paid off.Andy was patient with his trouble shooting and got my heater working properly. Will use the company again for sure.
My home warranty company (American Home Shield) assigned Absolute Comfort to come and repair our home A/C system as it was not cooling our home for a service call fee of $125. Mike, the technician that came to repair our A/C system sent a report to our home warranty company stating the following and this is copied and pasted from Mikes notes that were sent to our home warranty co.*(Non-Covered Costs)-Replace Evaporator CoilReason Not Covered-Pre-Existing ConditionNotes from Contractor, Mikefound 4 ton horizontal box coil leaking freon. preexisting and detectable leaking. $3135.00Total estimated non-covered costs: $3135.00So after this email we received from American Home Shield my wife googled what an average Coil Repair should cost. This what she found. ( The cost to replace an evaporator coil fluctuates between $600 to $2,000, depending on the unit and brand of the evaporator coil.) Furthermore , it was not noted in Mikes notes to our home warranty company if he performed a leak test or not (which is standard protocol) so there is no proof in writing to our warranty company that the proper evaluation was completed. Nope , it just stated we need a new coil and it is pre-existing and it will cost the home owner (me) $3,135 to repair. Interesting side note to be mentioned: we purchased our home two years ago last month. We were required to have a home warranty for one full year after the purchase. Not one A/C claim was filed in that 12 month period, No pre-existing issues to speak of!!There are plenty of honest A/C companies in Houston but this one , from our experience, is not one.
AC was leaking and there was no secondary drain installed in my house. Called them and the tech said the previous tech switched the wires so the pump should be working correctly now. That night my entire attic is flooding and has caused installation and ceiling damage. Have called and left messages as well as text messages and they are not answering my calls. Paid for a service that I did not receive*updated: had another trusted company come out where we share ACS’s findings and they said they were wrong. The unit wasn’t leveled, wires were crossed. So ACS’s reply is STILL wrong! Glad my AC is working properly now due to a TRUSTED company. I still stand by I would never recommend this company
In August 2022, my AC stopped cooling. My home warranty company sent ACS Absolute Comfort Heating and Cooling to my residence to diagnose the issue. I was told by the technician (Danny) that the capacitor burned out and that he would replace it. Danny replaced my old capacitor with-what I thought was-a new capacitor. The AC seemed to be working until now-October 2022, just 2 months after the capacitor was replaced. At this point, I did not trust the work ACS did, so my home warranty company sent another contractor out instead. The new technician informed me that capacitor that was supposedly replaced back in August had burned out. He also stated that the capacitor was old and used. And the worst of it: my home warranty stated that Ive passed my 30-day deadline and would have to pay AGAIN for the same services. As a senior and a paying customer, I do not appreciate lazy, incomplete work. This company is unprofessional and did not perform quality work. I feel taken advantage of, and Im not happy with the service I received. I will not be using this company again, and I have informed my home warranty company of this situation.
My home warranty company, American Home Shield, assigned ACS Absolute Comfort Heating and Cooling to work on my A/C unit. Mike, the technician, came out to look at the unit. He spent 2 minutes, then called me to let me know that the condenser coil was broken, and that the A/C was only cooling at 50% because of this issue. He told me that Id need a new unit, and could finance one through his company for $11k, which is far more than anyone else has quoted. He also offered this quote before contacting my warranty company to see if theyd cover it. He left, then turned in a report to AHS stating No mechanical problem without doing anything to resolve the problem.I was desperate, so I got referrals for other local technicians from people in my neighborhood. I had two come out. Both companies told me that the unit needed to be replaced, and that the coils damage was due to its age and NORMAL wear and tear. One even wrote up an invoice/diagnosis stating that the unit was in good condition considering its age.On AHSs site, I let them know that ACS Absolute Comfort Heating and Cooling didnt fix the unit, so they put in a ticket for them to come back out. The vendor sent out the same technician, Mike. He walked to the unit and looked at it, then told me to turn my a/c on. IT WAS ALREADY ON, but NOT WORKING. I mentioned to him what the other technicians said. Its only then that he decided to actually open the unit, instead of standing there staring at it, and looked inside. He used his tester and confirmed that the compressor was shot and said it didnt make sense to replace it because of the damaged coil. He told me that the unit needed to get replaced, but kept repeating that the unit was probably damaged due to pressure washing (which is something that Ive never had done to or near my house) or heavy rainfall. He said that means that it wasnt normal wear and tear, so when he submitted his ticket he mentioned not normal wear and tear, and included that the unit needed to get replaced. Because he said it damaged because of wear and tear that wasnt normal, the warranty company denied my service. They work together to get consumers money and to deny their service. I guess they figure if they deny the service that the customer will pay to get a unit through them.I have text messages and videos of Mike telling met that the condenser and compressor needed to get replaced and him blaming the weather for what happened to my unit, yet he still wants to report it to the warranty company the way he did so I wont get my new unit.Stay away from this horrible company if youre working with a warranty company. They will screw you over and ask you to work directly with their company for services they perform.
MIKE PHAM IS AN EXCELLENT & PROFESSIONAL HVAC TECHNICIAN FOR ACS ABSOLUTE COMFORT HVAC.
Contracted through American Home Shield (AHS) and have been unable to speak with anyone regarding the diagnosis. Ive called the office several days and I have only reached a recording. No one ever returned my calls and no repairs have been attempted.Update: They respond better by text messages on their main number. Night and day difference. They should state this option on their outgoing message. They never returned my calls but texting them resulted in immediate responses and now I know what is going on. Ill update my review again once the work has been completed.
My AC stop cooling two days ago so I put in a service request via online through my home warranty (AHS), they of course selected Air Dynasty but I read all the scams about them on Yelp and that the BBB has them as NR, so I canceled and called AHS to request someone else. The selected this company and at first I couldn’t find any Yelp reviews & was reluctant but I accepted just to find the reviews were just a tad bit better than Air Dynasty but at least not full of scamming accusations and they are NOT accredited with the BBB and are graded a F! However, from me calling to confirm the request with them to them showing up on time and fixing my AC without trying to sale me anything or charging me anything I was pleased! I told Mike and his companion my expectations as soon as I opened the door for them and what I’ve learned about the company online, plus I already had an AC guy take a look the day before and had spoken to AHS. He kindly nodded and in 10 minutes the house was cooling . Mike explained and shows me the issue at hand… thank you Mike!
This had been a terrible experience with this company. They came to my house Friday. My AC blew for 4 hours and shut off. I had to call them back and they did not return until the next day. He came on Saturday and said something was wrong with the hookup and disconnected my heater saying that this would fix my AC problem. My AC blew for about another five hours and then completely shut off. I caught the technician back on the following day and he told me to call him back when his business office was open. I asked him if he sent a report to my home warranty company and he reported yes. He told me a bold-faced lie because when I spoke to the Home Warranty company they said they had not received it. Furthermore, they called the technician and he told them that he had not sent it. He is a definite liar and very untrustworthy and very bad customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
My home warranty company, American Home Shield, assigned ACS Absolute Comfort Heating and Cooling to work on my A/C unit.I requested the repair on 07/09/2022. Today is 7/26/2022, and my A/C repair is still incomplete. I and my family have been suffering without A/C for more than 2 weeks.
My AC went out over the weekend and my home warranty company assigned ACS to me. They responded on the weekend and set up an appointment for Monday morning. Danny came out on time and quickly fixed the issue at no cost to me.
Please, Please, Please use Viet Nguyen as your technician. As a family, we take care of my 94 year old mother and special needs sister, so it was critical to have the A/C working. Mr Nguyen diagnosed, found the replacement and reinstalled the blower in 24 hours. Thank you ACS Absolute Comfort. M Duncan
Came out today via AHS having had problems with A/C TEX. Carlos run through all the prior history of the other contractor, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. No charge as Id already paid my co-pay to the other contractor and was within the 90 day limit. Carlos explained everything to me in detail, had me walk the house with him so he could show me what the other contractor had done and overall provided excellent customer service. Would recommend.
This company is horrible and incompetent. .. I have had issues from day one with this joke of an AC company. There have been 4 different incompetent service men come to my house that have all told me something different. The 1st guy comes and adds freon and a day later the compressor goes out. They are unfortunately who my home warranty people sent so I was forced to use them to replace compressor and they robbed me for freon up charge for over $500. Less than 30 days later my AC stops cooling. Yet another incompetent service man said fan blade was broken and replaced with the WRONG blade. I spent the holidays with a house full of people burning up. I have yet to get my problem fixed and will now file complaints and write negative reviews anywhere available to make sure others do not have these same issues. I see a similar issue thru American Home Shield happened to another person and its obvious the few positive reviews have been written by them. I am waiting to see if they fix their mess right away or I am going to BBB and Attorney General.
Stefan from Absolute Comfort checked out why my AC drain pan was overflowing and leaking and explained the various scenarios of repair. Turns out I need a plumber to snake out the main line at the overflow. He was very professional and friendly and answered many questions I had . I’ve used with this company for many years and have been impressed with the quality of work on both installation of units and on maintenance.
Michael was outstanding and honest. He arrived on time. I have 2 AC units and have used him 3 times for issues with my condenser and coil. He finds the root cause and always has my AC repaired in one day. I would recommend him to anyone.
My Insurance company send this company to my home to diagnose my Furnace, but the guy who came is a completely give false and wrong diagnosis about the situation. its supposed to get fixed for $100 so, he quoted $3500., I am not recommending this company.
This company provides poor customer service and has an awful policy regarding customers availability. After telling the customer to be at home from 9-1 on a workday, this technician will only come to your home if you answer the phone. I had someone at my home from 9-1 and since I did not answer the phone, the appointment was automatically cancelled. Given I was at work and in a meeting with my supervisor, I could not answer my phone. Given I was never told that someone would call me, I was unaware of this policy. Remember, I had someone at the home from 9-1 as instructed - no one came to the door and knocked at all. As a matter of fact, the technician did not come to the house at all. The customer service representative told me the manager would called but he never did. I inquired at least three times about the manager calling...nothing. The customer service representative lacks professionalism as well and desperately needs retraining. I have a question about this policy... is there any empirical evidence to implement a policy which asks for customers to be at home and then, does not send the technician to the home? I am completely dumbfounded about this horrible experience. I would advise to use another company that actually delivers on customer service excellence. This company lacks in all areas of customer service excellence.F= Active listeningF= Problem solvingF = Always Go the Extra Mile in Anticipating Customers’ NeedsF= Never Take Customers for Granted
We were set for an appointment today from 3-5 pm. Tech arrived at 2 and left at 2:58. It took 16 calls and over an hour to get the technician to come back per the scheduled time. When he arrived he took the cover off, looked at the unit for 3 minutes, said the motor was bad and left. We had another tech scheduled for yesterday but our warranty company stated we had to go with them. Suffice to say, I will be contacting them to find another company. Just sad, and poor business ethics on ACSs behalf.
Our AC compressor went out 2 weeks ago. ...we called our Home Warranty American Home Shield . It takes 3 days to receive a call at 4pm saying the only time available is the next day 8-10. Everyone in my house has to work. ...can see us the day after tomorrow but cant give a time. Technician shows up. ....confirm the compressor is out.....mind you it blew ALL FREON OUT.....and tells me I have no leaks?? Says coils are bad, but will only replace the compressor. Takes another hot week to finally show up. ...charging $675 for freon....never checks for leaks in coils once work is done... thats not our job, we here just to install part......AND when invoice for service repair and receipt of payment requested, cant provide. ....will be emailed Monday! Service guys not speaking clear English and barely communicate! We shall see if it is fixed!!!!! Not happy with service, only used them because of AHS and like most people. ...dont have the $6000 to put out at once for total replacement!
This company was sent to my home by American home shield, not only did the guy have a cocky attitude he then said we basically needed a whole new unit inside and there was nothing wrong with the outside unit, I have 3 kids youngest 16 month old with special needs and they said they couldnt get to us for another week to fix the issue. So we had a 2nd local person come out and come to find out the unit on the inside had nothing wrong with it, the only issue we had was a leak in the house and to add more freon to the outside unit.... ACS wanted to charge us $1,595.00Local company $500.00Please get a second opinion with these people
Fantastic staff and polite technicians.I have been having A/C cooling issues for 3 years every 6 months or so. My house was built 2007. Every company that American Home Sheild has sent out will refill a few pounds of freon and they are on their way. I have to pay American Home Shield $100 each time. I also have to pay most of the freon placed as AHS only pays $10 a lbs. This summer (May 2016) the a/c was not cooling again. AHS sent out ACS Absolute Comfort. They refilled with some freon. It only helped for 4 weeks. In June 2016, I called in another work order. ACS was sent out again. They told me I had a leak in the coil and needed a new coil for the air handler in the attic. However, this part is now obsolete. They were going to have to return in 18 days with a rebuilt coil from the manufacture in another state. In the mean time, my new born of 3 weeks and the rest of family would have to endure the June heat in Houston. So Patricia from ACS offered us a great deal a new air handler system by the next day.Juan and his partner came out today, changed out my old air handler (which apparently was poorly installed from the beginning according to the technician) and replaced it with a new one. They explained what they were doing, they were very polite, clean and did the work quickly.Patricia has also been very polite on the phone and helpful. She calls me back with all my many questions. She even registered the new air handler with the manufacturing company since this will insure that I have the manufactures warranty for 10 years.ACS really came through for my new growing family and me. I recommend this A/C business.
I was surprised to see some of the negative reviews. I have shopped around and have been bent over by Abacus, ARS and other so called Houston name brand AC companies so I gave ACS a chance. I have used ACS for the last 3 years because my 9 year old system needs something different to fix about every year. In the past ACS has replaced my coil, computer board and capacitor. As of late I have had to replace my blower motor. That part alone could have cost me close to a $1,000 but ACS caught the part under warranty and saved me BIG TIME. These guys are honest and professional and I recommend them. I dont use a home warranty. I have not had a good experience with that sort of coverage. They use cheap replacement parts and service. Most of the whiners on here are getting hosed by their coverage and blaming ACS and that is NOT COOL pun intended.
Awful experience. We were assigned them through American Home Shield. The tech didnt call ahead. Our upstairs AC unit was leaking into the emergency pan and the tech shrugged and said there was nothing wrong with it. A week later we have water leaking from the ceiling in our kitchen from the unit and we call them back out to look at it again and the tech still maintains that nothing is wrong with the unit and blames the water damage in our kitchen ceiling on probable rain damage from a roof leak. From the moment the guy showed up it was clear he didnt want to try to do anything - he wasnt in our house for more than a couple of minutes each appointment.
Initial inspection technician was good and found source of AC problem. Compressor needed replacement due to wiring corroding. No complications.American Home Shield only pays $10/lb for freon, but ACS charged $50, so I would have to pay $40/lb out of pocket. (If you check wholesale R-410A, its only $8/lb... But thats another story). My system says it need 12lb. ACS said I needed 15lb due to long pipes...When they sent another tech to replace compressor and recharge system with freon, he went to charge the system without weighing how much freon he was putting in and was going to charge me the full 15lb. He was using an old almost empty canister. The moment I asked him to weight the canister, he instantly said he is done dealing with me and packed up to quit the job and leave. I barely even talked to him by this point. After calling the ACS office and demanding that its normal to weigh the freon canisters before and after the recharge, he came back and finished the install as if nothing happened. Of course he had a scale to measure canister and of course grabbed a new full canister from his trick. The final weight used was only 13lb.TL;DR: He was trying to undercharge my AC system with the bare minimum freon but charge me the full $600. Scammer. Threw a tantrum and tried the quit the job when I asked him to actually measure the amount of freon he was using.
Carlos from ACS was awesome. We have a zoned system which, due to overload, was locked up. We could not get the air or the furnace to work. He reset the system and now they both work perfectly. He said it may have been the power surge we recently had when our power went on and off a few times, it could have damaged the control panel but suggested that we should just wait and see if this was a one off. He explained that we have options if it continues to happen, one cheap, one expensive. He did not try to sell us something we dont currently need. He was very professional and pleasant, we had a great conversation with him! I would have no hesitation in calling ACS in the future!
They are either not qualified or straight up trying to rip off customers. Either way Ill never be working with them again. They were sent by my home warranty program to deal with a unit that wasnt keeping the house cool. The tech took a bottle of snoop in the attic and said the coil was leaking. The repair (before warranty) was quoted at $2,210 for a new coil. This included 14 lbs of R22 when I was only 2 lbs low (nearly $1k over charge), a new copper line set (which shouldnt be needed for a coil replacement $185), and a reverse service siv (which neither my regular AC company or google can identify for $195).I should have followed my gut and just called my normal contractor up front. Instead, I wasted $75 for the diagnostic performed by ACS. A second opinion from a NATE technician with the proper electronic R22 detector showed no leaks in the coil and only 2 lbs low (not the 5-6 lbs I was told by ACS).The float switch installation quoted as part of this repair was also priced at nearly double what I paid my normal contractor to perform the service while they were here. When I asked for a detailed quote so I could understand the pricing they stopped responding and never provided it. I had to get it verbally from the home warranty company. Dont do business with these folks. They are beyond sketchy and will rip you off either through their own ignorance or through intentional crooked practices. If you have to do business with them due to you warranty then do yourself a favor and get a second opinion.
(Through American Home Shield) Their Tech failed to charge my unit with Freon after replacing a part and then caused thousands of dollars of damage to my home after the unit froze up. Ive been battling ACS for over 2 years now attempting to recover my losses but they just constantly give you the run around and excuses; even with the BBB as a third party. When we first had the issue they wouldnt even take my calls/email anymore and just ignored me. Then magically after they changed management and fired some people they want to try and clear their record on the BBB and wont pay for the damages; and tell me that since their 90 day Warranty (on the part mind you) is up that the damage arent covered; granted you cant even detect water damage for weeks, or even months, in this situation. (I believe 98 days had past) So theyre so out to screw their customers they wont even let 8 days slide to cover the costs of damages to my home. So they care about their own money more than they care about you as a customer and your home.DO NOT LET THEM IN YOUR HOUSE!
I called ACS this morning and the technician, Billy, arrived at noon to clear a blocked drain line. He found 2 blocked and cleared those and treated the remaining 2 with bleach. He worked quickly and did a good job. This is the second time I have used ACS and have had good experiences both times.
Rob and ACS were excellent in that they offered a REAL SOLUTION in a timely, efficient manner that honored our contract with AHS; as opposed to what we received from Three Brothers
ACS did a fantastic job, from the initial visit for the estimate, to the final visit for the install. I would highly recommend this company for anyone who needs maintenance, repair or up to a whole new HVAC system.
Mike and the crew are knowledgeable and care about their customers. They are responsive and maintain their equipment and comfort of their clients very well. They will explain the issues and the solutions to them and provide the options necessary to fix them. We are very appreciative of their timeliness during these typical hot Houston times.
Chad and his crew did a fantastic job! They were on time - starting and finishing. Our ducts were 35 years old and had them replaced. Now we have more air volume than before and the duct insulation is a lot better. Chad is very friendly, professional, and knows his A/C.
I was a little nervous about having an HVAC professional come out after a previous bad experience (with the office staff at Admiral). Absolute Comfort came out when they said they would, inspected my equipment, and gave me great advice on what needs to be done now and some good tips on how to prevent future breakdowns (keep your system CLEAN). Many thanks to Jeremy (Stack) for a job well done and answering my questions (e.g. what the heck is a plenum, lol). Will call again!
Ethically compromised company screwing over you and AHS for money. Brand new freon in my system and wont even try to recover it. They also do not believe a word you (the homeowner says).Read the other reviews: do not do business with these fools.
It is been a great experience all overTheir technician was on time. He solved all my questions. He checked my A C unit and pinpoint the problem right away. Great experience and knowledge. Thanks for the help to fix our HVAC problem
We love ACS Absolute Comfort Heating and Cooling their technicians are very professional and experienced.
The technician that came to our house was very unprofessional lied to our Home Warranty Provider. Spoke to service manager said she would follow up and did not.We owned an A/C Company for 30 years an can tell you I would not hire the tech or would have written him up for performance
This company have the worst service and most arrogant and insulting staff.I had a service call to repair an AC unit and the closest date for them to come out was in 2 days. The temperature in the house is over 10 degrees.I asked them if they can improve it but they denied my request and when I explained the situation the rep on the phone (female) was very rude and insulting and had no respect for a senior citizen such as myself. She hang up and closed the service request and now I am looking for another company which might take days to find. I called back and pleaded with the manager (Mary) and she said she will do whatever she can to re-instate it and she will call me back. I never got a call back and they will not even take my call. I am about to place a complaint with the BBB. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY.
The service was prompt and technician was very informative. He noticed I might have a problem with my water heater which was not part of his job. This helped me save money. He was very knowledgeable and efficient.
I called my home warranty company and this company sent a technician to check my AC unit. He said that my home warranty company wont cover the replacement or repair of the unit and even offered his own business (side business) is this even ethical?
Everything about this company is great. If you ever need anything done, do not hesitate to use them. Make sure you ask for the service tech, Oliver. Great guy and knows the business. Will recommend them to everyone I come in contact with
ERIK SEELEY was here to check my air cond out. He was a great guy did a great job, will use him again. He was very honest and was sweet guy, I am in my 70s so have been lied too about my air con.Thank You
They came out to do a service call on Wednesday it is Friday and they still have not sent over the report to my warranty company, I have an elderly mother in the home with out ac and they do not care. I am not sure who to be upset with them or the warranty company.
I really cant say enough good things about this company. The sent the nicest ac expert who showed up a little early! The job was done quickly which so important in this August in Houston heat. I would highly recommend this company.
Mike Phan the technician was prompt, honest and efficient. I obtained service through AHS and in no time, my AC was up and running again.Would HIGHLY recommend
I wish there was zero star.never returned call.made a wrong diagnosis of the problem.asking me to pay $2200 for repair.useless company and worst service
I highly recommend this company they service immediately. Was out within 40 minutes of talking to Patrica. Do a wonderful job I always call them Mike knows what to do right away.
Excellent and timely work.Michael (Phan) could diagnose the problem right away and address it as soon as possible.i will definitely call them again if I have any problem with the A/C.
Great experience from start to finish. They came out ahead of schedule and was prompt with service. They explained everything in detail and I actually paid less than initially quoted. Would definitely recommend!
Great experience with ACS, they service my AC. Show up on time as promised and their crew get to work immediately. I would use them again.
The repair technician Mr. Mike Phan was prompt, professional, proficient, and pleasant! He represented the company very well!!!

Mike and his crew were very professional. Responded quickly and got the job done quickly. Strongly recommended.
Review for Gretchen Hyland. Thanks so much for all your help Patricia and Mike.My wife has copd and needs ac.all the time. Thanks Mike for being so considerate.Great job!!!
Very bad customer service, they billed me for the items covered by warranty company also, not keeping appointment ,waiting one day for scheduled appointment ,but no call ,no show, later when I called ,they said they are busy and can come next day, why AHS is recommending these type of lazy and lying technicians
Very timely and professional response...thank you
Honest with everything. Great service !
We did not have any issues with ACS. Mr. Carlos came out, diagnosed the issue and fixed it within the hour.
Technician was more than 2 hours late for his 2 hour (8am-10am) window. No call and no one at the main office could locate him.
They gave a nice bid on my new HVAC system. They were on time, professional and fast.
Michael came and helped out when the A/C went kaput. He was very quick, knowledgeable, and professional! Thank you!
Service was excellent. The workers were very courteous. I would recommend them to any one who needs new air conditioner.
The tech came out, only two days and repaired my a/c. Very pleasant experience.
Rude receptionist who cannot provide a straight answer in regards to scheduling an appointment. Frustrating experience
Michael fixed the initial problem right away and was very up front about what additional services cost and whether they should be done right away or could wait.
Great job by Erik! Already knew what the problem was over the phone and brought the part needed and fixed it right away!
Courteous, Polite, and helpful staff. Honest and fair prices. Very satisfied with the work.
Great service. Knowledgeable technician. Appreciated the great work. Jonathan was great.
Ask for Mike! He goes above and beyond for his customers.
I have the best experience with ACS, they have the best staffs and experts on the jobs. By reading some of the negative comments here, I hesitated to use them at first; however, after the minutes they got to my house I can see that they know what they are doing.By serving thousand of calls years in years out, its hard to please every body b/c of course they are sub-contractor who was in between customers and pressure from AHS. The reason I said that b/c I have my own business too so I know EXACTLY what they have been going thru.Bottom line is ACS is great company to do business, they are professional, integrity and honest. Give them a chance like me, you will not be disappointed. Many Thanks to ACS
Jaun was on time, courteous and did an excellent job! Thanks!
Excellent service and responsive.
Expect nothing but a large bill and a bigger headache.
Ok
Great Service.
I am very happy that American Home Shield sent them to my house. They did a great job!! The price is very affordable. I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends.
