Been here twice and both times were to warranty out my Ryobi weedeaters. I had a gas one a few years ago that the engine started knocking and they rebuilt it but then I ended up selling it and bought an electric one and fast forward two years and the motor gave out on the electric one so I took it back here and they said it would more than likely have to be replaced since it was a common issue on them. A week later I get a call letting me know that they looked over it and determined it will have to be replaced so I go ahead and authorize it getting sent out and a week after that I get a call saying it was ready! I pick it up and its a new one but updated version of the one I bought since the issue on the original one was so common. Theyve saved me a few hundred dollars and will recommend them 200%! They have a big selection of tools and pretty sure have a tool for whatever you may need!
We have dropped a Ryobi lawn mower for more than 2 months now and it is still under warranty! After checking with the folks they said that the parts are still on back order! One can imagine what happened to the lawn in the meantime and of course there is no help from Home Depot either! We had to rent a lawnmower once and borrowed from neighbor but until when??? Definitely won’t buy a Ryobi again! We called today again and after you promised a replacement we were told the same: no replacement and the parts are on back order! This is unacceptable service!
Had my drum sander not able to hold my sandpaper during episode of changing sandpaper. One of the clips no longer held tension of sandpaper, didnt know if fixable or user error.Called Empire Tools and James answered and was able to answer questions about the sander and we decided to bring it in and have the repair guys look at it. I drove from Navasota to store and James called the repair department and explained the situation and then Andrew came out to look at the sander in my truck. After examining the tool he was able to make quick fix (user error) to clip and it was able to hold tension. Both men very helpful, patient and explained things as discussed. Took sander home and put new sandpaper in and has been working great.Thank you James, Andrew and Empire Tools. Above and beyond. I certainly will recommend you and provide you all my future business.
We (My company and I) have used Empire for years. During Harvey we started using a respirator we like very much. Today we went to purchase 2 new ones, we were told the respirators now come with Hand sanitizer due to Covid. We thought that was dumb but we need a new pair for construction like they are designed. So the employee turns around grabs a respirator and a bottle of hand sanitizer and the respirators separately. Then rings up the purchase which comes up as $29.99 for the Respirator and SEPARATELY $7.99 for the hand sanitizer which they have bottled themselves. We asked this be separated and we only need the respirators. He told us that this is just how it is sold now. I dont think painters need hand sanitizer with their respirators.Additionally, Empire treats the customers coming into the store like Criminals. As you walk up to the store it is like walking into a police station of most wanted posters. we have dealt with this as it does not apply to us but it just seeds distrust from the moment you walk into the building. We feel that forcing hand Sanitizer purchase with a respirator is another form of gouging and due to this we will no longer use Empire tool.Reply to owners’ comment:You are correct I did call, on which call I was told this was included. My understanding was by the manufacturer. I did not once accuse you of bait and switch I accused you of a form of price gouging, in which you are taking advantage of the current pandemic to force the sale of hand sanitizer with an Item that is mostly used for construction purposes.§17.46(b) of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act provides that it is a false, misleading or deceptive act or practice to TAKE ADVANTAGE OF a disaster declared by the Governor under Chapter 418, Government Code, or the President by: “Demanding an exorbitant or EXCESSIVE price in connection with the sale or lease of fuel, food, medicine, lodging, building materials, CONSTRUCTION TOOLS, or another necessity. While you “take theft and fraud very seriously,” and you “refuse to become a victim to those who choose to prey on hardworking individuals“ according to this law that is exactly what you are doing to the people that patron your store. Being forced to buy one thing so that you can buy the other is a bad business practice. You were asked at the counter to remove the hand sanitizer once we noticed that the items were separate. We did not buy these masks to deal with Covid-19 we purchased them for working in a dusty environment. We decided that it was more cost effective to purchase your masks than try to track down another set today. You were given the opportunity to make the situation right however, the cost of doing business in this case was this review. Before you get on your self righteous tangent that you are less expensive than amazon there are plenty of websites that show these can easily be had for less on-line. Additionally with a quick google search I was able to find them in Houston for $27.50. This is a product I have purchased from you in the past and now in the future I will purchase from another store along with all of our tools. Your company does have a good selection but your combative responses and lack of ownership are just more reason people shouldnt do business with you.
I have a Ryobi power washer that has quite working. I was within the 3 year warranty and after contacting Ryobi I was referred to Empire Tool Co. I called Empire Tools and talked with James he was extremely helpful. He said he needed some additional information from me and then he would call me back to advise of a resolution to my problem. The next day he did call me back and said my concerns were addressed and Ryobi would be sending me a new washer the next week. This was some of the best customer service I have received by a company in sometime. Thanks to James and his common sense approach my problem was very quickly resolved. Thanks, Lynn
Best in-store selection, and great customer service as they will guide you in getting tools warrantied/serviced. They have helped me with tools I have purchased from Empire and elsewhere. Also, dont mess with them or your picture will end up at the front door.
Friendly and professional, customer-oriented, great customer service, great tools! Hector via phone and James in person were super helpful and informative. We spent three weeks trying to connect with Ryobi online and over the phone to get them to help us fix our broken weedeater and chainsaw—to no avail and with ceaseless frustration along the way! Then in less than 30 minutes, Empire Tools solved our issues.
Good experience at this store! Went in looking for a couple tools for work. Came out with what I need and a lot more I wanted for the home projects. Definitely was surprised at the wide variety of tools and equipment in that 1 building! Even had a automotive section that I couldnt stay out. Customer service was great pointed me in the direction of tools I needed with no fuss. Even dropped off a couple generators and power tools we were having trouble with at work while I was there. Prices were very fair and they called with in no time to pick them up my boss was happy. The gas tech knew what he was doing. He explained to me what caused the issue and how to prevent it from happening again. He even helped us load them heavy suckers after showing they worked. Good guy very knowledgeable! Going back today to drop my mower for repair hopefully I didnt destroy my mower its been awhile since i started it
Empire Tools has everything you need! My dad got a great deal on a Simpson pressure washer. James is knowledgeable and was very helpful. Definitely coming back for more supplies. Empire Tools is way better than Home Depot! Better prices and better deals :)
People working in the store are very friendly and helpful! They solved all our problems.James is great! A very nice and smart guy. Extranet easy to work with
I called this place after searching around for a tool replacement for work. James at Empire went above and beyond to help me out. He even retuned my calls and emailed me when he couldn’t get ahold of me just to give me a status update. Definitely recommend this place.
Finally found a really good tool store that I can run in and out of and get what I need! The convenience is what I like the most!! No overcrowding like the big box stores plus there’s no hassle with trying to find an employee . The staff is very knowledgeable and ready to help.I highly recommend Empire Tools for all your DIY or contractor/business needs!!Also they carry all the major brands Bosch, Mikita, Milwaukee etc…..
Having a hard time finding a replacement part for your tools Empire Tools is the best place to get it no doubt from my personal experience i give Empire tools 5 ⭐s. I also had a mower that was under warranty and they took care of the warranty process with no charge!! Thank you EmpireTools!!!!
Huge selection. They had an extremely hard to find 9mm hex lobe socket I needed to change my BMW brakes. No other store in 15 miles from my house had it. Bought a very nice Wilson vice for my workbench. Helpful and nice staff.
Very helpful and knowledgeable about the warranty on the mowers. I really appreciate their services and would really recommend them. Thanks Empire Tools.
Thanks to Andrew at the repair center for helping my dad repair his tools. He guided us through the process and also kept in touch. He got his tools back in a timely manner. Would recommend!
Changed my review after getting the details from Jame (grade A person), issue was with the warranty provider. There was some misinformation from an employee that caused some concern, but James was able to take care our concerns and made us feel that our business is appreciated. So far so good....
Went here for manufacturers warranty and the staff was very helpful from the moment I called and they resolved my case within a week. not once I had to call them to ask about the status of my case, they completed the process quickly and kept me informed every step of the way. will come here for any repairs on my tools
A humble neighborhood tool store that value honesty and business integrity and serve the local community well for nearly 50 years. Wide selection of tools with friendly staff. Worthwhile to support as a USA business.
Empire Tools has an excellent repair department and superb warranty service! They have a knowledgeable staff who go out their way to help! Very compatible prices! They have a huge selection of tools and displays! I highly recommend!!!!
If you need a demo hammer go to Empire Tool’s now!!! They helped my uncle with one and got him a very good deal. Friendly service and had other good deals too.
This store should be have negative star!! 😡👎I took my Milwaukee impact gun 5 months ago to repair it and many calls to ask about my tool and the manager never call back.So I went today to pickup my tool andThey told me, my part is on back order!! And is not there fault!! Come on!! 😡What a company is this?😡👎Milwaukee wait for my review 😡👎
The staff was helpful and they have a selection of tools that will be hard to find anywhere else. I got a great deal on a screwdriver set there. I even mentioned that the price was probably too low and there was a mistake and they still honored the price. They have certainly won my future business.
Can no longer purchase tools here. Their prices are higher than Home Depot, Lowes and anyone Online. Then their selection is bare minimum on name brand tools like Bosch and Makita. They have really become a china made junk tool store. They sell a Johnson 8 level for $200, I got the exact same one at Lowes for $99.00. They lost their Fess tool account. Huge mistake. They post Pictures of people they have caught stealing on the front door as if that is a deterrent. It really displays how low-class the owners are.I was in the store last week and John or James? was screaming at a customer because he was using an undersized power cord on a tool. This went on for 15 minutes. He has no class and no business running this store.Fien blades are marked up 100% over what I can buy them online for. This company is clueless. If the doors stay open another year Ill be surprised.Cant return a tool for any reason and expect your money back. Its a 15% retocking fee and store credit. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this business, its thats what you want to call it.
I love it here. Its like a tool toysrus. Great selection if tools at competing prices. Very helpful staff. Always come in to get my tools repaired. Ive been coming here for years along with my father.
Called in, needed some help, was told he didnt have time to help me because he had other customers...Response:Hi James,I did not call Empire Torque Tools, I called Empire Tools at 6327 W 34th St, Houston, TX 77092. Just because you claim you havent had this issue arise and havent heard any of your salesmen not help a customer on the phone doesnt dismiss this from happening, so I would appreciate you not trying to denounce the integrity of my complaint. I did not get the salesmans name, I was not put on hold for an extended period of time. I did not set this account up for the purpose of leaving this review, it was just the alt email I was logged into at the time, if you wish, I can pull up my main email account and leave the review there, but again, here we are with you attempting to dismiss this review as fraudulent... I understand this does not reflect the level of service indicative of what you try to achieve at Empire Tools, or I would have never called. I called and asked for a recommendation for a part I needed for a job, and needed more information for the part, and was told he didnt have time to get me that information and I would need to call the manufacturer. I asked for the SKU, or manufacturers part number so I could reference the part he recommended, and was told he didnt know the part number, that he would have to look the number up, and he couldnt do that right now because he had other customers to take care of. So I told him not to worry about it, that I would figure something else out and hung up.
Wide selection of tools and pricing thats on par with online prices plus shipping. The advantage of buying local is that you get the tools you need right away.
We visited Empire Tools in Houston, TX in mid February on 2013 for their selection of specialty tools especially in the stone polishing department. When we walked in, we were a bit overwhelmed by the abundance of tools that were available. There is a gentleman there by the name of Ventura Lopez who helped us. I was surprised in the actual knowledge that he had in our industry. He helped us with selections. Every question we had was answered and if he couldnt answer the question immediately, he actually spent some time to research our questions in their catalogs to help us find the right tool for the job and not just sale us what they had on the floor. Since our purchases, we have received two follow-up calls from Ventura to see how everything was going with our products. This is the kind of service that all companies could only wish that their sales reps had. I give Empire tools a 5 star rating in tool selection and customer service.
Nice people, explained the product I was looking for very well and made sure I understand the difference between the different units. Even gave me a free gift with my purchase. A+
Ive come here for years. They have tools for most of your projects— automotive, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical and a lot of etc. You are greeted when you come in and quickly be told where what you are looking for is located. If you need a tool, this is your place.
Awesome tool place been going here for years..bought a dewalt tool on Thursday and it was defective. Called Ana and brought it back today and they exchanged with a new one in a flash..Thank you Ana and the Empire team...

Never been here but after looking at the pics, I wanna go if not to just meet the Makita girls lol
I have a question? Are these home Depot prices or more like harbor freight prices? I noticed they have famous brands but just curious
Called and spoke with James. Even though they didnt have the product they refered me to another company that should have it in stock. Very professional and helpful.
Good selection of tools a little pricey need to work on customer service
Do not go to this place to have your tools worked on. They are a rip off. They keep them months and after they take them apart they wanna charge to put them together again
Very helpful, professional owners and staff. If they dont have what you are looking for, they usually can order it for you.
In a time of need during the winter storm, this family business stepped up and reached out to the community to provide supplies to people in need. Thank you, James!

The worst place you can buy your tool is here. I bought a wet saw for $1,500 in December and a month it didnt turn on and until now, March 21, 2020, they dont want to fix it because they dont have time, they say.
