Our AC suddenly quit working, but luckily we have a home warranty with Choice Home warranty. Claim was made and a service tech showed up charged us $65 and said you need a new AC. We never heard from the company again. After an interminable discussions and days of waiting claim was approved but the contractor refused the job! Choice subsequently contacted Boricua AC, and Carlos promptly returned my call and met with us the next morning and performed a diagnosis. He concluded we needed a complete new heat pump, air handler and compressor! After much documentation and many pictures Carlos got an approval. The unit had to be ordered, but Carlos kept in constant contact until unit arrived and arrangements made for installation at 8AM the next day. Unit was installed very professionally by Carlos and his skilled crew and job was completed and thoroughly tested by 1PM! Carlos took the time to show me exactly what was wrong with the old unit and why the necessity to change it completely. Such service is a rare commodity these day!

Carlos came by through Choice Warranty and is the owner. He showed us ways to service our ac unit to keep from having higher fees. He took the time to do the job right and was very efficient. I’m willing to bet the negative reviews are from workers who no longer work for him for obvious reasons. I suggest don’t judge by others past experiences and give him the chance to prove the past reviews wrong. Carlos was very friendly and personable. I will definitely use him again and request him in the future. We are very grateful we used Boricua!

They claimed to Choice Home Warranty that they came out to diagnose our air conditioner and their was nothing wrong. They never came out to our home. When they called, we informed them that our air conditioner had already been replaced. Who could wait three weeks for Choice Home Warranty to get a technician? Then when they did, this is what happened. I suppose they got paid for their work. So very disappointed in shady companies and Choice Home Warranty who expects us to do business with dishonest people.

They were referred through my home warranty and the person that came out, Carlos, came almost a day late, he’s attitude towards me absolutely horrible. He acted like he didn’t want to help me with my air conditioning issue. Then he gave my home warranty company a false diagnostic, so they denied my claim. I know he gave me a false diagnostic because I called for a second opinion and they fix my unit with no problem, I had to pay out of pocket. I will never do business with this company ever again.

Carlos came out to check our AC after we were told by two other companies we needed to purchase a new unit because 1) our compressor was bad, and 2) we had leaks in both the inside and outside units. Well lo and behold, Carlos found no leaks!! The other companies had lied to us! So in the future we will be doing business with Carlos at Boricua AC! He’s fair and honest. Thank you Carlos for relieving us of this huge unnecessary expense to replace our unit.

Excellent and prompt service. I called at about 7 PM on a Friday about an AC problem, and they actually answered the phone - a human, not a voicemail! They had a tech at my house the next Monday morning with the right part in hand to fix AC. Tech was friendly and professional. Work was completed and cleaned up in under 2 hours.

Very shady company! I would recommend you stay away. They sold me a used A/C unit and was told I would get a system that was less than 5 years old and i would get a 3 year warranty with it. They installed a unit that was about 10 years old (i wasnt there for the install). It broke about 3 months after the install and they actually did fix it that time. The 2nd time it broke I was told they would not warranty it and would get charged a service call fee, they do not live up to their word. Be very leery and be sure you get everything in writing. I handled everything over the phone which is how they prefer it. I would strongly recommend you spend your hard earned money with a reputable company. They may save you a few dollars but trust me it will end up costing you a lot more. They are crooks!

I hired these guys to install a used heat pump for me. Over the next winter, my bills were sky high. Had another HVAC company came out to look...and told me this wasnt actually a heat pump at all....he installed an air conditioner and took it for granted I wouldnt know the difference. Would strongly advise to steer clear of this company.

They did a good job and got my AC working and saved us from this Texas heat! They provided great service
