I was in Grand Prairie for the weekend when my Subaru Forester had some lights come on the dashboard. I was a little skeptical because I only allow the dealership to work on it but after reviewing the reviews, I took a chance. I called them early the next morning and they reached back out to me and told me to come in. I was greeted by Ash and she was very personable and the overall environment was relaxing. I was in at 9 and out before 12 and I did not have an appointment. The mechanic explained everything to me and reassured me that everything was fine. I wish they had locations out here in Houston because they would have me as a customer forever! I am so happy that I took that chance, and I have referred others that live out there to them because they are worth it! Thank yall again!!!!!!

Very friendly and efficient staff. I dealt with Ashley, Tony, and Moe and each were very professional and informative. They identified the problem with my vehicle and kept me updated through the repair process and the repair was done in a timely manner. I highly recommend Shift Forward Auto Repair if you need vehicle maintenance done.

First one I went to Walmart I’m on 61 in Grand Prairie. They refused my service so I went to Carfax and found them on here and decided to give them a try the lady at the front desk found out she was the owner was very nice and kind and polite And the service was great and very clean shop even off of me a drink of water or coffee, which is nice and the service is fast. I would recommend people to go here and give them a chance.

They did an awesome job fixing my truck. Everything was done by them even, contacting my warranty company. Their prices were very reasonable. I strongly recommend them.

What professionals and yet caring, wholehearted family who really goes above and beyond for customers. They took care of our car the same day and made sure we were comfortable. They even got us a ride home when our son was tired and served him with snacks and a movie.Great place to go for all your needs.

I called for service while in town, and chose based on not only reviews but the response to reviews. Also, a local, independent, veteran-owned business gets extra attention from me. I was so pleasantly surprised that diagnostics were completed within a few hours, with a phone call to me to discuss and approve repairs right away. I gave the ok, picked up my car a few hours later, and was on my way. I had the pleasure of chatting with Moe while I was picking up, and he immediately helped me feel like a welcome part of his community and shop. I also overheard him give sound advice to someone who called for advice—which in return did not bring that person to him for business—and the customer was very happy to have a fast answer because he was stranded on the highway. Anyway, just great, knowledgeable people all-around. Highly recommend!

10/10 experience for auto repair in DFW. Not your typical shop. Mo and Ashley are professional and run an awesome facility - the waiting area is very clean and full of 6 different free snacks and coffee and donuts while you wait. Had my alignment done for good price and they rotated my tires as well - free of charge. They also test drove it to make sure it was 100%. Will definitely come back.

This is a few weeks after service and everything is running great! They immediately checked my car once I got there and were communicative over the phone after. I forgot to get names but the gentleman at the front and the lady over the phone were nice and straightforward!

Great experience all over. Honest straight forward diagnosis of problem. No scare tactics and pressure to repair other non-pressing issues. Most importantly, the fixed my vehicle the first time. I waited to leave feedback until I was sure they repaired it. They looked for affordable options on parts to save me money. Those parts were still backed by 90-day warranty. I am making this shop my go to repair shop.

The staff at Shift Forward auto are professional yet down to earth. We travel from Desoto in order for them to care for our vehicles They do all they can to prevent extra cost to the customer and explain any difference in quoted price and actual price. I have entrusted them with both our Dodge Avenger and Durango and they have not disappointed.

Sent a 2019 Kia Sportage in for a brake job and oil change. The owner himself got involved in the trouble shooting process of the brake repairs due to some underlying issues. We received a great service from a clean professional shop that far exceeded our expectations. Really nice group of Veterans there! We will definitely be back 😁

I called Shift Forward after having a radiator fan issue and was able to take my car in within 24 hours. Everyone I talked to on the phone was super nice and upfront about the pricing of diagnostic testing. Once I brought my car in, they were able to find the faulty part and install a replacement within a few hours. I was walked through exactly what part was broken, and the pricing was super affordable. I will definitely come back to this place with any future car issues. I highly recommend!

Ive been going to Shift Forward for the past two years! They never let me down! My brother Maurice, my sis-n-law Ashley, and Tony always make sure I have all the information I need before coming in to make things easy for me. Im always informed during the process of what is going on with my vehicle. Ever since requiring from the military, Maurice has been looking out for me since day one!!! I wish I could give them 100 stars!If you’re looking for an honest reliable mechanic this is the shop! Everyone who helped me was wonderful from Ashley at the front counter to Mike who worked on my car. My initial phone call was with Moe who assured me everything would be okay and he kept every bit of his word. After running into a few issues they stood by their word and still made me feel at ease and fixed my car AC which we all need in 100 degree weather in TX. I had Tony and his guys replace the transmission in my 2003 Toyota Celica. Tony checked in with me along the way when something didn’t seem right. He didn’t mind me bringing in my own parts or when I asked for particular OEM parts to be ordered in. He was overall friendly and flexible and gave me a very pleasant experience. I got there to get my car diagnostic at the time it say But they got there 30 minutes after so make sure you call before you go. they gave me a quote for a used transmission $3600. My go-to mechanics from now on!!! Mike and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very fair pricing, and the service was wonderful. I brought my vehicle in due to a check engine light, and I was worried about the price I was going to pay, being it was a fairly new vehicle. I googled mechanic shops near my home and saw all the reviews Shift Forward received, and I decided to give in and call the shop to explain the problem. I brought my vehicle to the shop immediately after the phone call, and Mike explained and showed me what the problem was and how it could be repaired. I was well kept informed all the way until the end. I couldnt be more pleased with the shop and I highly recommend the shop to anyone who needs repairs on their vehicles!!!

This is the best auto shop I’ve EVER been to. They are honest and kind people. From fixes to regular maintenance, they will take care of everything expeditiously. My husband and I have taken three of our cars and they’ve never disappointed. You don’t have to worry about being scammed here. I cannot recommend them enough.

I recently had my car serviced here and I had the pleasure of working with Tony now Idon’t know about anyone else but it’s very vulnerable place to be in when you need someone to give you a diagnostics on what the problem with your car however the service I receive was undoubtably the best service I’ve gotten on my car in years. They help me understand what the issue was what options I could take to get it fixed and also explain the pricing to me. I felt safe I definitely would recommend them. I definitely recommend them to anyone who needs the car service.

I am very glad I found Shift Forward. Tony, I believe he is the manager and main mechanic, has been very good about explaining the issues going on with our three cars, and what is needed to fix them. My old jeep, which I recently purchased, did not have heat right before severe cold weather hit. I asked that they try flushing the heater core rather than replacing it (replacing it is 8+ hour job where the entire dash has to be removed), which they flushed twice, but it only marginally improved it. So the heater core had to be replaced but at least I knew beforehand flushing it may not work. I think they could have charged much more than they did. I have used three different repair shops in the last five years, been lied to, over charged, or have had my car sitting in the shop for weeks while paying for a rental car. I am very happy with their service, employees, timeliness, cost, and most of all because I feel they are honest. Greg Gates

My AC decided to stop working and after my husband the YouTube Mechanic attempted to fix it himself, I Found Shift Forward. The staff was amazing and as soon as I explained the issue they went into detail of what all the service included when they could of easily said we will take a look and call you the cost was fair, the work was great and my Cold AC is amazing. Next day my dad who is very picky decided to take his work vehicle in for service as well..hands down the best and worth the drive.

After many attempts of running into shady,rude and untrustworthy mechanics shops I finally found a shop I can trust Shift forward. I was greeted by Ashley she was very nice and very informative and made feel very welcomed I came in for a/c issue on my 17 Yukon and they found the issue very quick order the part and got right to work. As I was waiting I was getting lots of updates and more details on what caused the damage on my condenser. They let me know the total cost before getting started and I never felt pressured into saying yes. Tony was great and very helpful even aired up my tires and gave me a heads up that it was low. Such a relief I found a shop I can trust bringing my vehicles in for any diagnostic/repairs

I was very worried about getting my tire fixed and I was getting the run around of different shops trying to rip me off in the area. My usual mechanic guy was out today but i may have found a new shop to go to now! They were so helpful and informative and decided to come out and help me. What they did to help me out, no mechanic has ever done that for me and they didnt need to go out there way to do that but they definetley went all out. Amazing experience I had here. Was taken back to their shop, and it was very welcoming. This will be my new shop to go to now!

I was told that I needed parts from O’Reilly’s that I did not need left my car there and found out from Shift forward that I did not need either part. Shift Forward were figure the problem out quickly and had me back on the road . Clean, efficient , friendly staff and a knowledgeable crew of mechanics. My brother in law was so impressed he said he will go to them soon.

Everything went well. Waiting area was a bit small, but they have self serve coffee, water, snacks and donuts! Ashley and Moe are very friendly folks. Moe explained all the nessary work to me and gave me a quote for what I need to do. They called me an Uber to take me home so I didnt have to wait there. Only reason I didnt give them 5 stars was due to the price tag. Replacing 6 spark plugs cost me over $480! Not sure thats reasonable or not, but seemed high to me.

Found this shop when my differential finally gave out and couldn’t be more pleased with their customer service, communication, and overall the work they do. I dropped my vehicle off and told them the problem on a Monday. There were a few other parts that needed repair as I expected (rear axles & wheel hubs). I told them go ahead and replace it all. I let them know I would be leaving for vacation later that week and was worried about the $25 fee for each day the car sits there after being repaired. They were so kind in saying they would wave that fee if the car wasn’t done in time before I left for vacation. Luckily they were able to get the parts in on time and I was able to pick up my vehicle that same week. My car runs like new and I’m satisfied with the way they do business. There’s not many shops that can compare to this one. I’ve already recommended them to co workers and friends.

Staff is very courteous and friendly, and they have a very personal approach when explaining the labor done; however, I would have preferred to be charged for a diagnosis instead of the having work done that did nothing for my car issue. In other words, I paid and still have the problem. It’s better to tell the client what’s wrong and then if the client still wants to have the work done advise them that it won’t do anything to their car and they will be wasting their money. My car was there for over 3 hours and no one called me to tell me what was wrong or to pick it up when a service was performed without consulting first.

I had a engine on oil pressure light come on my car for the first time. The team there Moe, Tony, Jeff, and Alavaro were so knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. I originally took my car in to Midas and went to Shift to get a second opinion. Not only was the price significantly less than what Miss quoted, (Midas was definitely price gouging) but they actually showed/walked me through the issues with my car and gave me advice. I didn’t feel pressured into having to pay for everything up front like Midas made me feel. Super nice team customer service was above and beyond. I would recommend this shop to any and everyone!

A nice small car service shop tucked away out of sight. Good prices and personable staff. Because I stay close by, they shuttled me home to wait while my care was being worked on. I was a bit disappointed with the time it took today for my alignment (dropped off at 11am and not done until 4pm) but I understand that sometimes it happens.Overall good service

Awesome service! Took my car here after taking it to several place one other car repair said it was going to cost over $13000 which left the car on park for a long time not knowing what to do. Went cause I was having AC problems. Was told they had to put on machine to do a diagnostic it was $130 double the price of other shops. But I went forth wit it cause I was promised by Tony that they go above and beyond to take care of customers. And they do throughly diagnostic unlike other shops.Was told everything checked out good and they put my levels where they was suppose to be cause they was lil high. drove off hot air started blowing out. I called told them lady told to me to come back. The guy who worked on my car told me he believes it’s the AC compressor is going out. so now I’m stuck wit hot air still blowing and a waste of $130. Where my problem falls wit this situation is Tony the man who talked to me the whole time the one who promised to take care me and car issues. When I went back he didn’t have one word to say me turned his back looked the other way him and the girl at front desk. No one never said well here is a price on the AC compressor this what I need to do no nothing. I was left lil answer and lost on what to do next no pricing or nothing. Just a hot car and loss of $130. I don’t recommend this place cause they talk a good game but don’t back it up. Also my appointment was at 9 didn’t get in till 10 just a big disappointment . Waste of time and money 😞

Tony, did a great job on installing tire rods and lower control arms on my car..My car drives very good now. Any questions you want to know about your vehicle, Tony is very well knowledgeable in knowing about your vehicle. In my book Shift Forward Mechanic Shop is the best mechanic shop to get your vehicle repaired.

My car killed 2 batteries. I had no idea what was wrong with it. I thought it might be a parasitic drain, but after extensive testing it was the alternator. They did a great job.

I needed my thermostat replaced and I received the royal treatment. They treat you like family and make sure the work is done correctly! Im very happy with the service!

Tony was great person to work with. I informed him what was wrong with my car and provided a solution however that didn’t work exactly as we expected and figured out another way to get my car back on the road

They were very pleasant to work with. The actual price of the transmission was way to high for me. Not saying it was high for the market. But I will definitely go back if I need other things . They were referred to us.

Shift Forward Auto Repair (SFAR) had performed a diagnostic on my vehicle and were the only ones who pointed out the fuel pump in the tank was the thing needing replaced. Everyone else was trying to do far more expensive and pointless fixes that still would have left me with the same issues I came in with. SFAR was quick and super courteous as well as keeping me up to date since they had trouble getting the replacement parts.

My Honda Civic 2017 was taken care of in a matter of two hrs these guys and Ashley are Pro’s at what they do. I received excellent customer service and I will do business with them no matter where I move to in Tx they are reliable fast and friendly and I love friendly people. They provide snack coffee and waters. The rr was extremely clean I almost felt at home in there lol. My ac is blowing so cold I barley wanted to get out and go in my apartment it’s not as cold in my apartment as my car 😵‍💫🤣🤣if my Honda was a lil bigger I’d still be in it. You definitely won’t regret going here Ashley husband or one of the other master technicians will explain the whole process to you. I met all of them there all nice and respectful. There not like some mechanics They treated me as a equal and I appreciate that as well. They also where affordable. I went here on faith and I am so happy I did.

I brought my vehicle in for a/c worked dropped it off on a Monday it was ready the same day, the workers are very friendly kept me updated with the entire process, reasonable pricing overall it was a great experience..

As a woman, I look for the cost first. And this place passed with flying colors.They were reasonable and did not take advantage of me. In fact, they told me that I didnt need some work that I thought I needed, saving me HUNDREDS of dollars.They were so professional. They not only told me what the problem was, they showed me. Took older (20 y/o) car to Shift Forward Auto Aug2021 the first time to replace the radiator, and resolve an oil leak issue. They fixed the radiator, alternator & changed the oil filter (as a possible resolution to oil leak) They also changed the battery posts as a courtesy.After this initial visit, my car began stopping on me & Oil leak persisted so I parked the car for a few months then returned May2022. They changed the coil pack /spark plug, but this didnt resolve the issue.I ended going another route to fix the car, but for regular maintenance and minor repairs, Shift Forward is great. They followed up several times between the two visits, and were accommodating.

Awesome experience - Tony and the guys replaced my side view mirror in an hour and for an awesome price. They were professional , courteous and timely! I will definitely use them again!

First of all, this review was not solicited, bought, bartered for, begged for, nor made up. With that said…Sweet. Baby. Jesus. This place is AMAZING! I can’t remember ever seeing such a tightly run shop in my life! From the time I called Ms. Ashley for a quote until the time they surprised me by saving me over $600 on repairs, I have been in complete awe! The other five star reviews are absolutely true!Ashley gave me a quote for a tensioner repair that was about $150 cheaper than the dealership. We all know the dealership is more expensive but sometimes, I feel safer as a woman, going there to get my auto work done. Yeah, that relationship is over. Ladies, I advise you to follow suit. Tony, REALLY took care of me. The quote for my tensioner replacement was never altered. I paid no more than quoted. What I’m showing pictures of are a quote from the dealership to fix my trunk handle which has somehow come loose. $479.54. That’s what they wanted. I think it was God Himself who smacked me on the back of my head and made me ask Tony to take a look at my trunk handle because the dealership wanted a chunk of change from me to fix it. He did. He laughed. I thought maybe I’d cry. Nope. Well, not at first. He told me that all I needed were special bolts to go on the screws. They were probably never replaced a few years ago when I was rear ended and had the car fixed. Bolts. And not $480 worth of bolts! Just $6 worth. I was livid with the dealership! I told Tony that I would drive to whatever shop to pick those bolts up. They were delivered to the shop over the weekend. I came back and he installed them all for…$6.06. Overall, I saved about $600. I cried….well, my wallet cried tears of joy. It’s Christmas time! Such a glorious gift!That’s it. I’m a believer in this place. I’m home. Thanks guys (and Ms. Ashley)! You are all awesome!

I brought in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. She needed tender love and care. A loud rattle noise was coming from underneath the hood, embarrassing! Anyways it could’ve been numerous of things, took it in on a friends recommendation. Same day the mechanics diagnosed it (Air Compressor & Serpentine belt) and had it back up and purring like a kitten the next day! Never knew my car could sound so good! Like literally I be like “ is my car on?” Needless to say, I will be returning for future repairs.

Had almost $2500 worth of worth done 2 months later my car was spewing gas from where I had carburetor work done luckily I was jumping my battery that day and has saw it or my car could have caught on fire .
