I was out of town working and when I returned home the house was hot. Not, what I expected when returning home. I reached out to McCullough to schedule and they were able to have a stop and diagnose the system. The tech was courteous, knowledgeable and updated me on the upcoming changes in 2025. Had the unit repaired quickly. Noting that my unit is 20 years old and probably ready to be upgraded. So I am giving this serious consideration because of the excellent service today.Then after speaking with the sales rep, replaced my 20+ year old unit. Scheduled the day, theMcCullough team/crew removed the old and installed the the new one. The crew worked efficiently, communicating clearly, and cleaned the area once complete. Overall, very satisfied, easy to work with and clarity communications was perfect. I can recommend McCullough Heating & Air Conditioning without hesitation. Updated Nov 11 2024.

Fantastic experience with Jensen at McCullough. We had a run capacitor in the AC unit go out, and while other companies tried to get me to replace my entire unit (so they could sell me a new one), Jensen was able to get to the root cause of the problem and repair the unit. Honest and trustworthy, reasonable prices!

McCullough Heating team was great and I would highly recommend them for all HVAC installs. I was able to call them on a Tuesday, have them out by Wednesday to go over all different bids and types of systems and begin/finish the install on Thursday. When there was an issue after the install due to unknown residual damage from the Round Rock hail storm their team, specifically manager Jensen was out within an hour (during after hours) to diagnose and address the issue. Great team all around and Im very happy with my new system.

I recently had a frustrating experience with McCullough Heating & Air Conditioning that has compelled me to write this review about their significant communication issues. When I first called, I clearly stated that I was looking for an estimate to replace both of my air conditioning units, emphasizing that they were functioning properly and no repairs or inspections were needed.Despite my clear request, I received a text message asking again what repairs were necessary. I reiterated that I only wanted an estimate for replacement. After some back and forth, a date was set for a technician to come out. However, on the day of the appointment, the technician asked me yet again what repairs were needed. At that point, I had to repeat myself for the third time, clarifying once more that I was only seeking an estimate to replace the units.The technician informed me that he was not the right person to provide that estimate but assured me he would contact the office to sort it out. He then suggested they could still provide the estimate the same day. A few hours later, I received a text message stating that I was rescheduled for the following week. This was extremely frustrating, given that I had originally requested an estimate and had made it clear that my units were not in need of repairs.After this disorganized experience, I decided to call back and cancel the appointment altogether. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of communication and inefficiency in the front office. I hope they can improve their internal processes, as it would save potential customers a lot of time and frustration.

He was professional, patient & thorough & took care of the issue. Matthew was very knowledgeable & competent. He wanted to be sure the problem was taken care of. I would recommend Matthew when calling McCullough for service.

Matt did a great job getting our system running again in this deep freeze! I called yesterday in the afternoon knowing wed have to wait, but he came early today to get our HVAC working again. And despite it being super cold in the attic, Matt worked hard to resolving the issue. We appreciate all his hard work!

Matthew Downing is a very polite and courteous technician! He was very informative on explaining my air conditioning system. After I told him what the problem with it was he explained some of the options it could be. He immediately found the problem and fixed it! I am very pleased with his work and informative explanations! Looks like he is proud to work for McCullough and McCullough needs to be proud to have him!

Cant say enough good about this company! Had them install a new heat pump unit for AC/Heat in October 2024. Jensen Sexton came out and gave me a qoute for a Carrier unit that was well below all others by $6k plus after rebates. Turns out there was going to be a refrigerant swap on January 1st 2025 that obsoleted some units that were in every sense of the word TOP OF THE LINE! After their rebates, the unit I got was over $6000 less then all competetors. He and the team came out and in one day cut in an extra vent that even my picky wife swears looks like it always existed in our hallway and replaced the old one/installed everything new before 3pm!!! City inspector came out 3 days later and passed the install no questions asked....Heres where McCullough and Mr. Sexton absolutely shined - the unit had a miniscule leak. Something that the factory, they themselves, and even the city inspector missed. One day the unit was working fine, the next I couldnt get it to cool at all. This was a Sunday morning/afternoon when it failed. I emailed them at 4pm on a Sunday expecting a Monday reply earliest...Nope! Jensen returned my email within an hour and came out the next day at 11am! After a quick inspection he found the issue by noticing a small oil leak on the base.His exact response that next day was Do you want it repaired or replaced? I was confused and asked for clarity. He stated We want you totally satisfied, so if youre not comfortable with us fixing it, well give you a totally new unit.I was floored! No one Ive ever dealt with was so upright with their choices! Asked him what the repair would entail, a simple solder job, so I said go for it.That was 3 months ago and I cant say enough good about the work/unit I got from them! This now fully repaired and functional system absolutely sips power! Weve recently gotten down to 21° and the display reads Heat Pump Heating even though I switched it to System Choice to allow heat pump or heat coil usage....My bills have been well below the old gas furnace unit by double digits!To Top it all off - couple days after they installed it, we got a call from Tiffs Treats for a delivery. Was McCullough thanking us for our business!Give these guys a call and give them your job! You will not be disappointed! If you go with anyone else its entirely at your peril of losing out on doing business with one of Central Texass greatest businesses ever!!!!

Excellent service. Our technician, Matt, was respectful of the workspace and our home. He wore boot covers inside the home without being prompted.We didn’t get the best news but our system is 24 years old, so I almost already expected we will be needing an upgrade. I appreciate the honest and straightforward advice and recommendations from Matt. Scheduling is easy, I was fortunate for a same day. Service fee and pricing is fair, communication is 10/10. Frank with McCullough solved a problem with my condenser that I have been struggling with for the entire summer. AND was 100% honest, on time, and respectful. Overall great experience. I do recommend McCullough would use them again.Scheduling was easy via phone. Tech arrived within a couple hours of me calling to setup an appointment (and it was not an emergency call). Tech went over his diagnosis with me, answered my questions, quickly replaced the bad capacitor, and the A/C started running cold again shortly after.

This was our first experience with replacing our entire home unit. From the beginning, Jensen made the whole process easy — From the proposal to the completion. He was very informative and answered and questions we had. Jaiden and Michael who installed the units were professional and courteous. I would recommend this company.

McCullough did a great job! Agent showed up early, quickly diagnosed the issue and provided a quote to fix. Repair was done very quickly! Highly recommend McCullough and will use them again if needed!

The tech that showed up was not thorough in troubleshooting the issue. All he did was look at the condenser and noticed it required R22 refrigerant and backed out of the job noting that it is against EPA rules to refill the unit. That makes sense but he didn’t try to troubleshoot the issue at all. Just jumped into trying to propose a whole new unit replacement. I had another company out the same day and the issue was that the blower in the air handler needed replacement. There wasn’t even a need to add more Freon, so the R22 issue was moot. Pays to work the problem and not get hung up on details that may not pertain to the issue.

I am so thankful to Mathew w/ McCullough arriving at my home this morning on time and assuring me my furnace is fixable and will not break the bank. I called McCullough at 7AM this morning and Mathew was at my home by 9:10 AM.

I strongly recommend Jensen Sexton of McCullough Heating and Air Conditioning. He came out the day we called; so reassuring because it was hot! He walked us through an estimate for our upstairs and downstairs units, selection, financing, installation, and quality check. He was patient and gave us lots of time, options and information. Each unit was up and running in one day. On the first evening after installation, the downstairs unit stopped working. Jensen came out at 8:00 that night and got it operational. His crew was efficient, neat, sand responsive to questions. One young man even helped me install the app for controlling the units on my phone. McCullough is a long-time Austin-based firm that is a bonified locally owned company, not bought out by private equity. You will recognize Jensens brand of service as the kind we used to expect from a good local company.

Franky was amazing! Very knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing. He gave us advice on what we can do ongoing to prevent further issues. We will use them again for service for sure.

I arranged online for my A/C to be checked out at 8am and the tech was here by 9:15. He found the problem almost immediately. He informed me what the cost would be to fix the issue. He went and got the part and it only took him about 40 minutes to get back with the part. So now as of 10:45 I am sitting and enjoying my nice cool house. These guys are the best!! It is easy to give them 5 stars for their outstanding service! I told them the issues I was having and they were at my house within an hour. Jensen was very professional and nice to deal with. He communicated with me what he was seeing and what he was doing. For some people that is not important but for me that is very important when its possible and makes me feel much more comfortable about what is going on. I stopped at their office off Airport Road since I was passing right by it. All were friendly and nice to me and my listened to my problem and concerns. I’ve had a few different HVAC service providers take a look at my system and I now have a favorite. Jason was our technician and he was very thorough and transparent. The repair was straight forward and a new system wasnt needed, which was something other contractors tried to say was best. Look forward to having McCullough maintain my system going forward. I really like this company. I feel they sent a very knowledgeable and well trained technician to my house. They call when they are 30 minutes out and they communicate very well.

I’m so happy with our experience with the team at McCullogh Heating and Air. Our fan motor went out on our air conditioning late Thursday evening. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to get a hold of a live agent with the dispatch team.after 9pm. They were able to schedule a technician who arrived the next day. Matthew was extremely helpful in answering our questions about some of the other components and made the repair quickly. We will definitely use McCollugh for any of our future needs and recommend them wholeheartedly.

We approached McCullough on tow occasions. The first was when our heating failed last winter and the second when our A/C had to be checked recently. Our experience was fantastic. They assigned a technician immediately. The problem analysis was thorough and details were shared very professionally. Last winter, Matthew stopped by on a late Friday evening to help us. The issue had to do with a roof replacement we had carried out. He called the roofing contractor, shared the videos that captured the defective area and helped resolve the situation. Perfect example of excellent service!

Heat was out and it was cold in the house. Matt showed up 30 minutes after I called and immediately found the issue (bad sensor). Repairs done quickly and at a very reasonable cost. While he was here, he changed my filters and diagnosed some long standing airflow issues. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Made an appointment a couple days ahead of time, got confirmation and I also confirmed the appointment, but no call no show. Texted after hours but was closed . The autotext responded “ you reached us after business and expect a call back during regular business hours” . It’s Saturday on a long memorial weekend. Would have been nice to get call to know they can not come so I can figure something else out in this Texas heat. Have to go with some one else .

Jensen was the person who came out on a whim. My AC was leaking antifreeze. He was very thorough and gave me a couple options well within my budget. I wont be using anyone else except for him and the company. Highly recommended!!!

My wife and I were truly impressed with the level of service and quality provided by McCullough. I needed a new HVAC system and I did receive lower bids to replace the old units. The old AC system rarely turned off. It was constantly running and the house did not feel comfortable. However, there were several reasons for that besides the units just being old. The downstairs required a 5 ton unit. The existing plenum was only 4 feet in length when it should be 8 feet for a 5 ton unit. Also, there was not enough return air. McCullough explained the deficiencies in the system and was willing to quote and replace the plenum/sheet metal and add another duct for return air. This was why the house was not heating and cooling properly. Air distribution was very poor. If I had selected the lower bid, I’m sure they would’ve kept the old 4 foot plenum in place which would have prevented air from being distributed properly throughout the house. This is just one example of how McCullough provided a great service at a good price. Finding an HVAC system and installer that made the house feel comfortable was our primary goal and McCullough did a great job of achieving this. I did pay more for a better system (dual fuel, variable speed), but the benefits greatly outweighed the extra cost. The house now heats and cools perfectly. The after service quality control is also excellent. We are very happy with our choice of McCullough HVAC.
