As they say, you need a trusted mechanic anywhere you may live. Based on a friends recommendation, I brought my car in for a slave cylinder replacement work (not easy). Gary first showed me the actual part he ordered and explained that it has a lifetime warranty. Trust me, other shops would not have disclosed this info. rather they would try up-selling this warranty.On the day to pick up the car, Gary waited after closing for me to get there. Tried handing him the payment, but insisted that I drive the car first to ensure that I was satisfied. I told him, I already trust you. He then explained to me additional services that came free of charge with this work. Again, other shops like the ones with Christian in its name would have tried up-selling at this point. The car drives like a dream again because of Gary and his team and at a very reasonable price. Will definitely be back to Yellow Wrench for any future mechanical needs. We have been taking our cars to Yellow Wrench for a few years now. They never disappoint! Gary (and his family member before him) are very honest, and their prices are great.

I went and saw Gary, the owner, at Yellow Wrench toward the end of 2023 in order for him to diagnose why my Mazda 3s steering wheel shook when I braked at highway speeds. Several people said that it was bad rotors. After Gary and his mechanics looked, he told me that it would be motor mounts and the lower control arm. He quoted me a price for parts and labor, said it was fine if I took several months to save the money. In April of this year, he honored the price and did excellent work! I will have future car repairs performed by Gary and his crew at Yellow Wrench again and again. Fair price, great service, excellent work. I trust Yellow Wrench Auto Repair.

Ever watched Gladiator (2001)? That film is about honor.Gary and his crew? Just as honorable and they do the job right. I tend to try and diagnose issues myself but I just don’t trust myself to fix them with the limited time I have. So I take it here and I’ve been going here since my cousin has referred me here.If you come here - you’re a villain if you ask for discounts. They have payment options if you don’t have the funds now which is easy to setup. But their prices are very good. If you want to haggle about prices then take it to Christian Bros or Integrity Auto or even worse..the dealer.I repeat. Gary and his team do honorable work here and I absolutely hate when people want to pay less when the prices are already good.Gary has worked on my mom’s car, my GF’s car and my truck - we have all been pleased. My GF and Mom? They don’t want to go anywhere else.Unfortunately I am moving to another city and will have to find another mechanic that is trustworthy. I am going to miss this shop. If you are in the area to get your vehicle serviced at YELLOW WRENCH - you have no idea how good you have itFOR REFERENCE: Integrity Auto, Kwik and Christian’s quoted me over a grand to get a wheel bearing repaired/replaced on a Tacoma. Gary did it for way less than that WITHOUT negotiation AND suggested a few things I can get replaced (when im ready) to prevent the issue.

My Toyota Camry was misfiring, and when my dad took it to This fancy looking shop, they said they could fix it for 1500!! And my dad told me that I would have to pay for it. Then my friend recommended Yellow wrench, its not that fancy, but they are very friendly and honest. The owner was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. After he gave it to his technician, he told me that he could fix my car for $130. I didn’t believe it but thought I would give it a try. $130 later, and my car was perfectly fixed. My car was riding much smoother, and there were no more weird sounds coming from it!! Thank you so much, Yellow Wrench. I highly recommend this shop, they got excellent reasonable prices and are very knowledgeable in all mechanical aspects. Ask the owner to give your car to Steve.

I came in with an emergency problem with my wheel and these guys did an amazing job getting me in and taken care of Gary is extremely helpful and heard out my problems and was able to help me and get me rolling again with speed and efficiency. It is so very hard to find trusted mechanics these days, there is so much anxiety associated with leaving your car that you worked so hard for in the hands of a stranger. I am SO happy with my experience working with Gary and Rodger at Yellow Wrench Auto Repair & Alignment.I smacked a pothole while I was driving my Cadillac well over a month ago, and I had been living with a harsh ride thinking that whatever cost and hassle associated with getting it fixed was going to be as much as the car was worth.I finally decided to start researching shops in my area for quotes and I just couldnt find anybody until I stumbled on Yellow Wrench Auto Repair and Alignment. I read the reviews on Google and I decided to give these guys a shot so I brought my Cadillac CTS V to them.From the moment I walked in I felt like a welcomed customer. I was able to come in and explain what I thought the problem was, a blown front sway bar, and not once did they make me feel stupid or dumb for trying to diagnose it myself. They were able to put it up on the lift right away and within, what felt like, only minutes Mr Rodger was able to figure out that it was, in fact, a blown front strut/shock.I was truly impressed with their level of knowledge and willingness to share information while they figured it out so quickly. Mr Gary was able to find my part that I needed and was also able to get my car in where it fit both of our schedules nicely.I wasnt concerned one bit dropping my Cadillac off along with the keys, not one bit. These guys know exactly what theyre doing. I picked up my car, test drove it, it was fixed, and paid a fair price.It is also important to note that when I picked my car up, you couldnt tell that anybody had sat in it or had been working on it at all: There wasnt a single ding, dent or scratch or oil smudge or interior piece out of place!There really isnt anything more anyone could possibly ask for than that kind of perfect experience!I never want to wish any mechanical issues on myself, but Im definitely happy that I know Mr Gary and Mr Rodger now, theyll be the only people that I take my Cadillac to from now on when the time comes!Thank you Mr Gary and thank you Mr Rodger!

I appreciate their honesty in informing me that I did not require an oil change since I hadnt driven much since my previous one. Unlike dealership personnel who typically suggest and charge for a full service every six months, these guys were transparent. Its this level of integrity that makes me want to return.

First time there, when inquiring for A/C serverce, I noticed the compressor are listed about 3x the cost as autozone. Just had a compressor installed last year, the tech advised me that my compressor might not make it through the summer, furthermore, the older tech advised me that my compressor might still be under warranty. (I discovered it was, thanks to his advisory) The work done on my vehicle was good. I also noticed the plugs and switch for the emergency lights were tampered with (no big deal) as any tech from none fleet tech would. I would bring work to them as needed. Nice people over all.

Charged the air conditioning in my 1962 Thunderbird with r134 refrigerant and were very fair and reasonably priced.I will always go to them when I need ac service!

Saved me a ton of money today from another shop that ruined my truck! within minutes they were able to diagnose the issues and give me a price. they were also able to do the job the same day and within a few hours I got my truck back. they answered all of my questions and heard my concerns. this is definitely my new place to go!

Gary is an honest man. Went above and beyond good customer service. Thought I needed a new alternator, AAA told me that I did, but Gary did another diagnostic test and let me know I did not need one. Took the time to explain things to me. I will be bringing my truck back in for electrical testing, since I am having other issues. His prices beat out any others I have found.

Its hard to find a place that is affordable, does good work, and is friendly. This place is all three. Trust me, once you get your car worked on here you wont want to go anywhere else. They treat you like family, which is hard to find in these other ratchet scam artist mechanic shops in Dallas.

I am not local to this location, but was in town for a work conference. At 6:30am I stopped for coffee and when I got out of the car, I noticed oil leaking out of the bottom of my car. I immediately began looking up local places to drop the car off to be looked at and came upon Yellow Wrench. They were not even open, per the google hours, but when I called the phone was answered and they agreed to look at my car.Over the rest of the day, they were consistently in touch from the estimate, update, and when the job was done. They were detailed and thorough with the job. When I went to pick up my car, they outlined what was repaired and how they repaired it.Overall, they saved me from a tough situation, that could have been much worse, seeing as I was not local and was losing oil fast. 5/5 experience and would recommend again! I stumbled into this shop after another place completely butchered my car during a new suspension installtion. Gary identified everything that was wrong with it right away and gave me a great price on everything. When he saw that I was planning on waiting at the shop for the duration of the fix, he offered me his own personal car as a loaner so I could go home and be more comfortable (which I accepted). If thats not going above and beyond then I dont know what it is! Thanks Gary you saved the day.

Been looking for a good mechanic as my regular mechanic of 9 years moved up to McKinney (too long of a drive from Garland). Saw the reviews and thought I’d give ‘em a chance. Came in to replace the front end vc ball joints and control arm on my SUV. Spoke to the owner Gary, he had the parts ordered and his guys did the job in a timely manner. After it was all said and done, his prices were very reasonable and fair. I would have to agree with the other reviewers, these guys are very professional and knowledgeable. Bottomline- I found me a good & honest mechanic.UPDATE: 02/23Gotta say, these guys have gone above and beyond again! I had a couple of leaks that I brought in my car on Saturday, Gary & the guys made sure to fix it before the weekend was over. A special THANK YOU to Roger who came in on his day off to make sure to get it done in a timely manner. Can’t begin to tell you how thankful I am to have these guys taking care of my cars for the past 3-4 years!

I came for a braking issue on used car i recently purchased at a dealer and the owner took my car for a drive and diagnosed it right then and knew what the problem was and after he explain to me the cost and labor i decided to leave my car there and get it fixed. He gave me an estimated time frame and decided to work with him until it was done. The professionalism did not end there but also offer me to take me home instead of paying an Uber to take me home. Customer was exceptional and have made Yellow Wrench Auto repair my go to shop. Thank you for helping future doctors. The Austin drive from Garland was safe and i thank you for fixing the rattling issue.

Kar and his crew took excellent care of my 2010 Prius when the EGR valve was malfunctioning, turned out the car had other issues with very dirty exhaust and emission parts and they were able to quickly diagnose the problem and it get back on its wheels again. They are very helpful and let you know exactly what they are doing, they put me at ease that my vehicle was being well taken care of.

I walked in with 2 hubs that I needed ball joints bearings and studs replaced in. The shop was only gonna be open for another hour and a half and all mechanics were busy but Steve, the master mechanic, took my hubs even though he was booked and started working on them immediately. Had them ready the next day and gave me a great discount! Steve is the goat!

The Yellow Wrench is the place to go. Personally Ive been coming here for awhile and have never had a problem. Gary is always there and is a great help. The prices are reasonable, and the work is always good. If your car needs any help this is the place to go. I dont always do reviews, but this place has me blown away.

I went to 3-5 different shops to get my brakes looked at and quoted a price. So being a female I was instantly worried about being taken advantage of. The first place I went to quoted me a minimum of $650 with me saying “how much do you guys charge for brakes for all 4 tires on my car”. So $650 was an estimate for JUST the brakes without even being looked at. I went to my second shop to see what they started out price wise for just brakes and they said $600. I proceeded to my third shop where a friend of mine knew the owner and I told him my situation. We then walked outside and he took a look at my brakes walking around my car saying I needed brakes, pads, rotors and drums all the way around giving me an estimate that “started” at $800. My brakes are super bad at this point grinding metal to metal. My boyfriend told me about his friend that owned this shop and told me to come in and they would take a look and fix it for me. After being told several times I needed all kinds of things, they took one look at it and 2 minutes later come in and tell me ALL I need is front brakes and rotors 😳 I proceeded to ask “are you sure you’re talking about my car”? The gentleman said yes ma’am. Now the thought of being FEMALE and getting taken advantage of will definitely be first on my mind with everything I do. I can not thank you guys enough for being upfront, honest and reasonably priced. You guys are amazing and I will definitely come back for all my car needs. Thank you so very much. Stephanie

I truly enjoyed coming to this place. I was needing an alignment and they informed me of my tires being very worn out. I had not noticed but they were kind in telling me and I was able to see the damage / fix it before something happened. I came close to close after getting new tires and they were able to align it for me despite the time. They were kind and professional and I definitely will come back for their services. 10/10.

Kar was the best mechanic Ive ever dealt with. Super honest mechanic, not easy to find. All other shops were quoting 500-600$ more. Will definitely recommend and would come back for sure.

I had this 2000 civic ex that I could not find the ac electrical issue to save my life. My car would also boggle down after the engine would warm up and just have a horrible acceleration delay. Carl and Austin have taken care of these issues, Austin did some tune work on the engine and now I can burn rubber and take off from the stop lights. I highly recommend Yellow Wrench Automotive to anybody.

These guys are the real deal! I took my vehicle here with a bunch of problems fixed by another mechanic and I was blown away by how much detail and effort they put into correcting the issue and helping me understand the details along the way. Definitely will be going back for any future problems and HIGHLY recommend if you need your car serviced.

Wasnt sure bout this place, it looks a little off somehow. I dont know what it is, location maybe, BUT when I talked to the guy that works there (Austin)I was impressed enough to leave my Camaro in his hands, and thats not something Ido often. I dont even let my wife drive my Camaro. He knew exactly what I was talking about, gave me options on how to go about fixing it . And had it ready and running perfect in 2 days. It was a lot of work believe me, he said he said late that night but him self just because he enjoyed working on that car and he know how much it means to me. It is a rare car and unique with the aftermarket parts I have on it. Which caused the Chevy auto shop to refuse to work on it at all.. so thank you Austin, topnotch mechanic . And he earned a customer for life

Nice guys in the shop they are good and honest. I Brought my chevy colorado in for an alignment because i installed new wheels and tires. After the aligment was done it was pulling really hard left. It wasnt really pulling at all before i brought it in, but because i installeed new rims and tires i figured i should make sure its all in line. Yellow wrench couldnt figure out why it was pulling so bad. I brought my truck to brakes plus amd they sid the wheels were not aligned at all. I called Yellow wrench and they thanked me for the call and cancled there alignment apointments for the day to recalibrate their machine. They are genuinely good people and want to take care of you. I just caught while having technical difficulties.

Kar and Gary are solid shop owners, building and running a solid business. I do believe that and I respect them and their efforts. When they realize theyve hired shady unethical mechanics, the take it seriously and attend complaints. Kar saved me thousands of dollars on a new engine, any other shop could have taken advantage of the situation. Kar knew better. He knows that running a trustworthy business is more important than screwing someone over on a single job. Unfortunately, his mechanics, at the time of this writing (12/31/21) tried to take advantage and behaved badly when caught. Yellow wrench will go far with Gary and Kars philosophy, and with new mechanics. Dont settle on the mechanics word. My advice is talk directly with either of them and theyll make sure you are taken care of properly with any concerns because they want happy returning customer and safe operating vehicles out there on the roads.Cheers

Kar the owner is the best. These guys will not mess you over. Honest, trustworthy shop. Steven is an old school mechanic and is very knowledgeable. He can fix anything. He made my 72 monte carlo come alive with these new cylinder heads. Kar, Steve and Steven thanks so much. You will feel at home walking into their shop. Thats a good team they got up there. I have had (on more than one vehicle) alignments, front end parts replaced, a catalytic converter, coil packs (they dont like it when I call it that, but its a coil for each individual cylinder) replaced on the exact cylinders needed, new Brake disks and pads all the way around (at my request), water pump, radiator, also a battery. They have a anywhere anytime in the U.S. warranty service that will tow you free, merely because you are using them for service now. Ask them for more details on that.If you get a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, go here. Reasonably priced. Gary and his crew will take the best care of you.Thanks Gary

Went in for an emergency alignment (both of my wheels had just exploded on the freeway because alignment was off by 3 inches) without an appointment and they did it for a super fair price and the overall customer service was amazing. I definitely recommend.

Have a Honda CRV that had a recall, I toke it to the dealer “Rusty Willis”, they fix the safty recall... not even a year later the same problem keeps occuring, the recall problem is not fixed. I take it back to Honda.Honda: Sorry, we already fix it once, so since we did it, it doesnt show up on the system anymore for us to fix it as a recall, now you have to pay to get it fixed $450-$600I was driving home and google “Honest mechanics garland” and this was the first place on the way, so I toke it to Yellow Wrench on my way back home and asked the guy at the front desk (Gary)Janet: How much to fix this?Gary: $75 tops.Janet: Do it.Not even 40 minutes later.Gary: your car is readyJanet: How much?Gary: $72 tax included.Things learned.1) No more dealer. (If the part is like $30, and it takes a generic mechanic less than 20 min to fix, that means that the Dealer wanted to charge me over $400 for 20 min of labor... that is $1200 and hour!!!) Crazy.2) Honest mechanic are priceless. Happy a girl can find a place that people dont take advante of her.

So I brought up my 2007 F-150 up there for an alignment, it was was really off, it was worse then when I had brought it in.So i came home thinking you know it’s just maybe a tad off not too bad, but then I got my dad to drive the truck and I knew it I just didn’t want to believe it but the alignment was way off, the truck was just automatically going to the right.After I came back the second time the same day, it took them about 10 minutes for someone to realize we were here so we went into the shop, my dad and i, then some guy got out truck and drove it up on to the platform, another 10 minutes later, a Caucasian man came because now he was going to do the alignment, I then asked if he could not smoke inside the vehicle, which he continued to do so, how disrespectful,I will not continue to bring any of my three vehicles here again, and I would not recommend to any body.

Had an alignment there 6 months ago and it was great now today I had brought my truck in 2 weeks previously for an estimate on my front end was told what was wrong and was told that once I fixed it to bring it back and they would realign it for free I called yesterday and was asured that I would not be charged for my alignment however today after my alignment was done I was informed that I had to pay for my alignment regardless of what I was told by previous employees that I had spoken with the owner did not care would not budge in any way they are liars and manipulators they will tell you one thing to get you in there shop and then overcharge you and charge you for stuff that they werent supposed to to begin with horrible do not ever ever go there

My car died in McDonald’s and i didn’t know what to do. I looked up mechanic places and they were across the street.I called them seeing if they could help us and in 10 minutes they came over and started the car. We went across the street to pay them and not only did they replaced the part they did it for free and we really appreciate it and for sure we will come back if we have any future car issues,thank you!!!

Went in for an alignment and they said they couldnt fix the alignment because the camber bolt needed replaced but theyd try.
