Contacted Strandes Garage a couple of weeks ago to get an estimates on my vehicle repair.The inspection, very thorough, took a while at minimal cost. Ordered defective parts. A week later the parts came in therefore I brought my car in that morning. The associate there started a fresh pot of coffee.......and installed the replacement part. He was done with my repairs before the coffee was ready. Very impressed with the professional service provided. I highly recommend them for auto repair service.

It’s hard to find a shop that’s trustworthy, was lucky enough to find Strandes! I brought in my corvette for a leak and they got right on it! Impeccable work and very fair pricing, they value their warranty as well. Definitely the spot to go to in town.

I have a 2013 Ford F150 and every time i have come in Every advisor I have dealt with has been phenomenal and has explained every repair. . I am not a mechanical person and they were able to make my repairs understandable. . Im thrilled to have found this business upon my return to Denton. They are professional, courteous, and skilled. Despite the significant amount of work required, my truck was returned earlier than expected and at a lower cost than anticipated. Ill be using Strandes for all my auto repair and maintenance needs. Recently just got my car serviced at stranded garage. I’ll definitely say this place is the best in Denton hand down if you want good service for your car coupled with great customer service. Have awesome lobby, and representatives at front are eager to help. Also they have top tier service for your car if you need resolution for your vehicle quickly!

My driver-side front tire was unable to be removed by traditional means. Strandes was able to easily and quickly help me with this problem and I was able to again drive my vehicle.

I have found my place. I had purchased a 2015 Town and country. It has been in the shop longer than I have been able to drive it. After going several automotive places, every time something was fixed there was another issue. I took it to Strands garage on McKenney in Denton.These guys are awesome! They found everything that was wrong & repaired it. They are affordable, reliable and a pleasure work with. I will be taking both of my vehicles and referring my friends & family to Strands Garage. I’ve had two different vehicles of mine in this shop with not so great overall experiences. 1. Years ago, I brought in my truck that was unexpectedly dying sporadically. There did not seem to be rhyme or reason. When shifting gears, it was very jerky and would randomly shut down. All gauges would go flat, to zero. I took it to the shop and explained more in depth of the situation. I was called days later saying they replaced a sensor and something else and charged me. They did not even call beforehand to ASK if I wanted the work to be done. That was not even the problem/solution. Wasted money. They never fixed my truck. I wasted $1300-1600 at this shop with no answers and out of a vehicle. 2. I brought in another vehicle more recently to replace the clutch. My car was QUIET. Anyone who would pass by my car while it was running would question if it was even on. Ever since I have brought my car home from Strandes, it has been extremely loud. The clutch was replaced. Yes. BUT it is no longer my quiet car it once was. They ruined it. That was my last visit.

If you have questions good luck lol. I just wanted to know the brand of my part, not given a google answer on why I should buy OEM. I wouldnt be double checking warranties if I could buy OEM lol. Also I specified that I just wanted warranties checked, clarified several times. My 4th time contacting them over less than 24 hours, parroting the same thing, I am told that they did check my warranties, and I had been actually waiting on them to do diagnostics, which I told them I already had done and had another mechanic lined up for this repair. My experience 2 years ago was pretty bad, similar issues, but I believe in second chances. Too bad they dont listen to customers I guess.

Honest and prompt service; I grew up in the car business and know the arena cold, I just cant turn a wrench on these newer cars. Caleb, Sergio and the team are top shelf. Ive been taking my 07 honda to Strandes for a couple of years now and theyve always been pleasant to work with; Andrew is who I mostly deal with and hes always been so nice about helping prioritize what work needs to be done on my car. I feel like the prices are always fair and Ive never been overly shocked at their estimates. I definitely recommend Strandes to other people I work with and will be bringing back my car until it becomes unfixable.

My family has taken our vehicles to Strandes since I was a penniless college student, way back when. They have always taken great care of us. Fast, expert service and reasonable prices are a winning combination! They go the extra mile for their customer.

Has been one of the best garages I’ve ever had work on my vehicle.Very patient willing to work with you as long as you communicate back with them, they get the job done in a timely manner, and communicate with you in regards to extra things that might be needed on your vehicle without installing them without your permission.As far as installing something extra without charging me, of course, with my permission .I would recommend STRANDES GARAGE, and these guys any day of the week !

Replaced my Toyota Priuss catalytic converter after it was stolen by reprobates in Arlington. They even put in a housing shield to prevent that from happening again. Sergio was my tech and I couldnt ask for a more knowledgeable person to repair my car. Andrew was my service advisor and he was fantastic and incredibly communicative.

TJ did great work at a great price on my Acura TL. I had called around to several shops and Strandes beat them all. Their quote was spot on, and a whole $75 cheaper than the next best shop. The work was impressive and they had the car in and out very quickly. They are highly knowledgeable and honest. I will be a repeat customer.

We found this place after our daughter moved to Denton to go to Unt. My husband and I live far out in East Texas. On several drives to go visit our daughter we have had car problems and when we would get to Denton, we would go to Strandes Garage.they have now helped us with three different vehicles. They went out of their way to make sure we could get in and out in a timely matter. They worked very hard at diagnosing and troubleshooting what was wrong with the vehicles. One time we had run over a piece of metal on the freeway while driving in the middle of the night and they found it rammed up underneath our car took it out… They didn’t even charge us we have also had major electrical problems with another car of ours a Honda Civic, they kept working until they figured out the problem. They are affordable, extremely trustworthy, and excellent customer service. They are family owned and operated and you can tell. The reason that their parking lot is so full is not because they are backed up or slow is because they take your business and they work long hours and they get the job done. So people come to them from all over. Our son will be moving to Fort Worth soon and we’ve already told him it’ll be worth him to make the 45 minute drive if he’s got any problems to go to a trustworthy place. On top of this they have a service where if you need a ride back to your house to leave your car there they will take you back home and pick you back up. This has been very useful for me. And doing that I’ve got to speak with some of the mechanics and learn how good they treat them. They have continuing education programs to build loyalty and long-term relationships with their mechanics that they can trust and train. Can’t say enough good things about This place. THIS IS THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP TO CHOOSE. I was driving from Baton Rouge to Oklahoma City for my Sisters wedding when my alternator went out (on the front end of a 3 day holiday weekend) After calling a bunch shops…. I was either told “NO” or got NO ANSWER at all.When it looked like I was surely going to be stuck for 3 days & miss my sisters wedding… Strandes Garage answered and even though they were very busy they stayed after hours to make sure I would make the wedding.They even pointed out a few areas of preventative maintenance that ended up saving me thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs.These guys are HEROS as far as I’m concerned, and I can honestly say what could be their new slogan: You Won’t Get Stranded at Strandes

I would say if you’re a lady don’t go, I was quote $4,000 for a coolant leak for BMW X3 took it to another repair shop and paid $2500

The staff was amazing!I was super nervous about getting things done, but they were totally fine with all my questions and made me feel better about it all. Definitely coming back if I need to. Caleb was the mechanic that did the work and he did amazing

Two words: Rip Off! Picked up car after diagnostic with a flat and I was asked where did I go 🤣🤣 took to Barebones Repair and said I only needed new tires after spending $1000... no rods and whatever else repairs were thrown at it 🤣🤣 ....good luck...I was debating leaving a review because I hate to be negative but I just dont want anyone else to go through what I did.

I didnt get my car fixed there but just calling them up and dropping in for a quote. They werent friendly at all. Wanted me to sign a contract just to get a quote. Guy threw me a clipboard like I was in the Army and said fill this out. No thank you. Never going back. Like if you cant be polite and interested in my business - why give it to them?

Andrew at Strande’s is the BEST! He is the manager and stands by their warranty in addition to consistently charging below standard market rate for parts and labor. We had to replace the catalytic converter in my son’s truck and there was a defect, not once but twice in the equipment. Each time Strande’s honored the equipment warranty repair with no questions or issues. That earned my trust and loyalty to Strande’s. I recommend them to anyone who asks!!

This is the best mechanic I have ever been to. They have helped me with every car issues I have had. They know me like me so well, and we have pretty much become family :). If I have a problem after they don’t hesitate to fix it, and make it right. I highly recommend this place and when you go ask for Andrew, he is the best manager I have come across. He will for sure get you taking care of. They need more than 5 stars, they need 10. :)

Took my car in about a week ago about a weird noise in the front of my car and they took great care of me. They were honest, upfront, and very communicative about what they were doing to fix it. Would recommend them to everyone of my friends in the Denton area.

I can recommend Starndes Garage. They did a great job for us on an engine swap in our old Ford Explorer. Found us a new fresh remanufactured engine, pulled th eold one one and had the new one in in no time. Our SUV runs like new again. They stayed in touch every step of teh way too. Nice folks and do good work.

Our 2014 Chevy needed a water pump. Strands Garage did a great job for a fair price. The staff was really friendly and personable. We also had our driver side window fall into the door. We were out of town when this happened and we went to a shop to see if we could get it fixed. Strandes Garage repaired it for almost the price we were charged just to pin it up. Cant say enough good things about this shop. Yall have a loyal customer here. Thank you Strandes Garage for your honest hard work and service.

I am new to town and I went by to get a quote for a issue that I already know what part needs to be replaced. The person that helped me wasn’t very nice and was bad mouthing a family friend mechanic. I really felt like I was being treated like they didn’t feel like I know what I was talking about since I am a women.

This shop is super slow and cant hit a deadline if it was the only car in the shop. Slow, dirty, unorganized. 3hr jobs take 3 days. Hope this changes soon or there wont be much strandes left. Been coming for 10 years. This will be my last. Sorry

Took my car in for a second time since my car just died out of nowhere. First time they were nice and fixed my car without any problems. This time around they had to replace the whole fuse box and put a cable from my battery to my started that was never there in order to get it fixed. From that, my horn does not work nor does my cruise control work anymore, after less than a month it broke down again; I can’t start it anymore. Very unpleased with their work for something that I had to pay $1,900 and not have my car for 2 weeks.

Here is the honest review. Service is terrible (when youre planning to save money, think twice). Lets see why. Just to make it fair, I was using my parts (based on serial numbers they provided me with). But, seems like they do not know those exact serial numbers (so we played a game of guessing the right part number for a while, by waisting my time and money). Secondly, they destroyed my car key (by dropping into oil. I was told like that. Simple answer for damage that cost on average $400-$500. Thats how much the original cost of the key to my car). What theyve done to fix an issue with the key. They reprogrammed a new key without my permission (1st degree violation. Still think if I should sue them for that). After spending a few thousands dollars (car is still not fixed). Now, they do not give me chance to speak with the mechanic who was assigned to fix my car, by saying you have to email him (Im sorry, that person told me to call him directly if the problem is still there). BTW, when they say, to fix the car will take 4 days, please be ready to multiply that number for at least by 2 or even 3. No expectation to stick with schedule. thats what Im saying. And yea, they were threatening to call the cops because I was refusing to pay for a service, where I was saying they should pay me for all those circumstances (so, I told them, once the car is fixed Ill pay). They were angry, and forced me to pay for service that was not completed (a few thousands dollars, repeating. And it was my mistake to do so. Would prefer to talk to cops instead). After the payment is made, they stopped providing me service Ive paid for. So, if you feel this is the right place to save money, then good luck on your journey. Hope it worth it. Learned my lesson, hope youre learn yours from this life experience.

They were easy to deal with, and were very thorough in making sure that my car was working properly after a major mechanical repair. This place has a solid pricing model and never screws around so I always take my car here when I need something fixed.

Definitely Recommend Strandes Garage in Denton. Andrew and the guys there are awesome. They have helped me out big time with my sons wheelchair on more than one occasion. Even though it’s not what they do there; I didn’t have the tools to fix it & they were able to get it back working. I really dont know what I would have done otherwise. We love TJ and the people at this shop. Good and honest mechanics! We still drive from Fort Worth to have them service our cars even though we don’t live that close anymore. Most recently went to a local place to get an oil change and during the inspection was told a belt was cracked and needed replacing. Asked for a second opinion at Strandes who it was completely fine. No other work they suggested for our Honda Odyssey and they only charged us half the service fee for looking it over since they didn’t perform any work. Great customer service every time we’ve gone in as well!

I had to replace dual fan for my Camry 2009. I went to this place because I saw good review and reasonable prices. Yes It is true. Today I was given an amazing customer service by Andrew who works there. He fixed my car issue within 5 minutes. Kudos to him !! First time taking my vehicle here and I was impressed! Had to replace my starter, a/c fans and front struts. Called the shop to see if they could repair it and to my surprise got it in the same day to start repairs! Prices were pretty good as well. Will definitely take my car here again and recommend it to anyone else.

Honest experience today! Told the old lady there was a squeaky noise when I pushed the break, and I was traveling far with my grandkids, wanted the break sound to be fixed. She said it will take 45 min to let me know what going on with the break sound. I waited for wait 2 hrs thinking the mechanics are taking a look at break. After two hours she hands me a bill of 120 dollars telling me it’s for diagnostics, and that repair is needed for other stuff and squeaky sound on break. When I told her I have already told her what the problem was and also that she never told me about a diagnostic being performed on the whole car, or the price, she just handed me the bill telling me “ it was 120 dollars I lowers it to 100”, After politely telling her this is not right, and that I already told her what the problem was and the whole time was into into believing that the break was getting looked and worked upon, she lowered the price to 80 dollars saying it for the labor, and let me go.I was very disappointed with his experience. I have been to this place in the past I have been helped by a person named TJ, who explains what needs to be done on the car honestly, and always discuss the price before starting anything.Very disappointed with todays experience!!!It’s not about money, it’s about honesty and good service.

Great place to have your vehicle repaired! Everyone is friendly and honest. Prices are very affordable, I called around to several places. Andrew is a stellar guy. I had an emergency situation and he got me right in and my vehicle was done fast and done right! I wont go anywhere else!

Strandes Garage is awesome! Ive used them twice now, and the mechanics are always extremely helpful. You can tell they care about their customers! My car was worked on quickly and they called me with important updates throughout the day. Hopefully I dont need to see a mechanic for a while, but I do know where to go.

I took my car in because the ac was blowing hot air. They told me my radiator, compressor etc was messed up and it would be $3500 to replace. I immediately knew they were full of it and took it somewhere else. Turns out i just needed a new ac hose and i was only charged $500.Wouldn’t recommend

I live in The Colony, 40 minutes away, and will always come here for a trustworthy mechanic - everything down to an oil change. The prices are fair, and the mechanics are great. They provide honest customer service and always educate you about your car. I have met the owner and several mechanics. One thing is true, they always have the customer in mind.

Strandes is such a great shop here in Denton! They have always been straight with me on what was going on with my car and they have great service for great pricing! I have been going here for a little over a year now and I have never had a bad experience and I always leave in a good mood, which is saying a lot! And, I think it always says a lot that there are always young women like myself getting their cars worked on there. Going to get your car repaired can be such a misogynistic and downright scary experience for us. But not here! I never feel spoken down to or unsafe like I have at other repair shops and I never feel the need to pull out my phone to call my dad or husband for help. They really stand above the rest and I really appreciate them.

I recently had some minor electrical, bulb wiring work on my old truck. I was very pleased with the speed and customer transparency aspect of the front desk.I was used to service advisors being more middle man, sell the job type service, but here, the advisors are the ASC certified techs that actually do the work!So, Andrew and the crew are real, theyre honest, and I enjoyed their quick fixes needed to get my inspection done. Very thorough and though theyre usually busy, they seem to fit you in and help out.Not the cheapest place, but here you DO get it fixed right (get what you pay for)-and thats worth every inflated dollar!Highly recommend this reliable shop.

I’m always a fan of Strandes. This is my go-to place. The mechanics are friendly and professional, they fit me in on a short notice, and have great prices. Keep up the good work, Strandes!UPDATE: I used to be a fan of Strandes, but the past few times, I or my wife have been treated rudely. In one instance, I requested a brake pad replacement. There was a miscommunication, and I didn’t approve the work. It was fine. The next time however, I called and one of the receptionists told me that I needed to bring my own brake pads if I wanted them to be installed today. My wife went ahead and bought brake pads on her way to drop off the van.When she arrived at Strandes, she was berated by the receptionist for bringing her own brake pads because they had some there. Additionally, another customer arrived, and this receptionist asked them if they had an appointment. The person responded yes, to which the reception said, “Thank you, not everyone here made an appointment,” in reference to my wife. We didn’t make an additional appointment because we were just trying to get the work done that we had tried to get taken care of weeks ago. There isn’t a decent reception area because it’s under construction, and the whole place feels dingy and unwelcoming.I’m leaving two stars because I know what Strandes was like. It used to be a great local mechanic with excellent prices. Now, it is a disorganized mess, with rude receptionists, and it isn’t that much more affordable than any other mechanic.

I searched around for a trustworthy mechanic after being burned by another in town and Strandes Garage seemed to be a winner. I was glad to get my compact car tuned up this week with the holidays and all. The pricing for parts and labor seemed fair to me, but it just seemed like communication wasn’t very important to them. During the days my car was in their shop I found it very difficult to get more information on the status of my car and what was being repaired on my car, even after asking and calling multiple times. I’m not sure if this is just the way they do things there, but not being updated on my vehicle was very hard to plan around.I chose this auto shop because I read other reviews saying how well their communication was but I simply didn’t experience that here. I also noticed inconsistencies on their website like customer services and hours of operation. I appreciate the hard work of the mechanics, but for the above reasons I’ll keep my auto shop search ongoing.

I had dealt with many other car repair shops, including several big name companies. None of them compared to the friendliness, quickness, and accuracy assessing what was wrong with my car. They replaced only what was needed and guaranteed that my car was working properly and did so in a timely manner. Price was great too. I even was offered a water and a cookie for the few minutes I was there. TJ is very friendly and knows what he is doing. Recommend for everyone

I have lived in 14 different states. By far, strands garage is the best automotive service center I have ever experienced. TJ and the crew over there are absolutely wonderful. They are fair and honest, reasonably priced, and they go out of their way to satisfy their customers. I always feel very cared for, very respected and very peaceful when I leave my vehicle with them. Have only good things to say about this business. Had the alternator replaced earlier last year and it failed again. When I went to take truck to shop it would not start. Strandes sent a tow truck to pick up the truck and took to the shop. When I was notified that truck was ready I asked if they could pick me up so I could get the truck. They said ok and when I picked up the truck I found out the repair was covered by the warranty and they also paid for the tow. I will be taking all of my repair and maintenance work here from now on. Great service.

I work on cars in my free time and this is the only garage I trust to take any of my vehicles. Ive been doing business with them for years and theyve always done a great job communicating and giving me options that fit my budget. Andrew and his team are amazing at what they do and I trust them to take care of me and my family.

Andrew was great, honest and super helpful. They were able to repair a completely blown engine on a 20+yr Celica that had severely limited available parts due to its specs. I can say that I feel like they really made an effort and did so with integrity. So many times hard to find. Fair and honest and speaking as a women, I felt completely comfortable and safe. TJ and the team at Strande’s have been taking care of my automotive needs for nearly 20 years. I wouldn’t trust anyone else in the DFW metroplex to take better care of my car. They are phenomenal at treating people and their vehicles with courtesy, respect, and fairness.I recently went in for a full brake system work up. They diagnosed the car and determined I only really needed the front brakes replaced. I save an easy $400 when they could have just as easily told me I needed an entire new system. I know that they will always be honest with me and do their best to make sure that I will be happy and safe.On top of all of that, this team has been dealing with environmental issues that would be otherwise unsustainable. But you’d never know it because they work with such a high level of integrity and speed. Kudos to this team for being so amazing!

Ive lived in Denton for 21 years and have been to several auto shops in town. I drive a 12-year old vehicle with over 175k miles, so Ive been around the block a few times. Strandes Garage is the only place I recommend to all my family and friends. The honesty and integrity of TJ and the crew are unmatched in my experience with mechanics.They will give you great advice and treat you with respect. I recommend this shop with no reservations, but dont just take my word for it.... look at the other reviews that indicate theyre the best in town.

I felt like I got what I paid for, and didnt get talked down to at all (which is not always the case for mechanics). Very thorough breakdown of all issues with my car. This was the first time I had used Strandes and I chose them because of the good reviews. I am looking for a place I can go to that is trustworthy, reasonable and does quality work. I found all of these to be true and the people treat you like they have known you all your life. I plan on using Strandes for all my car needs and I highly recommend them.

These guys repaired my Mini Cooper clutch slave cylinder. They knew what they were doing and did an amazing job. Definitely recommend.

Very reasonable prices, thorough explanation, and overall good experience from initial phone call to final checkout. Probably going to be my new mechanic. Had an AC compressor needing to be replaced. Did it quite a bit cheaper than what my usual garage quoted me, saving me around $200. TJ explained in detail how the repair had gone, what he had done to try to catch similar problems in the future, the warranty, etc. His priority seemed to be making sure the customer felt comfortable and knowledgeable about what was done on the car. Repair went slightly over (not their fault - due to my giving them faulty info) but he did not overcharge on the extra and seemed downright apologetic about it and explained in depth where the extra was coming from. Plus, he insisted on staying a little later than close of business so I could get my car out that day as promised - very cool.

I have a Saab that recently had the radiator go south. It was by proximity alone that I chose Strandes to take my car into, and I am extremely grateful for that twist of luck. They provided great service, talked me through the issue, their repair process, and the costs upfront without any ambiguity. Ive never been treated to such a refreshing, quick, and professional car repair experience before, and as the owner of a Saab, Ive seen my fair share of shops before. I cant recommend Strandes enough.

I came in to get some work done on my car. They charged me a VERY hefty price for the work I needed done. After my dad talked to them he was able to get the price lowered. Turns out they were trying to upsale some parts and certain services to me which included an oil change. My dad only agreed to pay for the oil change. He told them thats all the work he wanted done on the car, but I picked the car up in the morning and I noticed they did all of the work including the oil change. At first I thought my dad paid for this because he wanted to, but then I found out that my dad had no knowledge of the work they did and it had been done without my dads authorization. Very unprofessional and makes me not want to go to this company anymore. Dont trust these people to do work on your car if you dont want them to charge a high price and do all of the work without telling you.

Update 2022 - Strandes is still great and Andrew also deserves a shoutout! He is a super nice guy and seems to genuinely want to help the customer out. He went out of his way to re-replace my brake pads and rotor after the original parts they installed were malfunctioning due to a manufacturer issue. Ill continue to go to Strandes because they seem to have a knowledgeable team of mechanics and get the job done quickly.---Strandes is great - I called because my brakes were making a grinding noise and TJ said come on in whenever Id like. They took good care of my car and got me parts (which were yes, a little more expensive but totally worth it) and didnt charge me an arm and a leg. He got it done that same day and now my car runs beautifully!Shoutout to TJ for real.

DO NOT GO HERE! They will scam you, take forever to return your vehicle, and they are all around shady. Trust me, Im not some random Karen, we had a truck that needed transmission work and they fixed it only for it to not work right. Took it back and they say the motor is blown, under warranty they replaced it, and then 7 months later when we get the truck back fixed the AC wasnt working. Took it to them and they say the AC compressor is bad and needs to be replaced which will cost $1700. I got under the hood to find the AC compressor is unplugged and a bolt for the cylinder heads is loose. Avoid this place at all costs, youre better using some random mechanic off facebook than this amatuer ripoff con artist shop.

If you stumbled upon this review you are either trolling for funny reviews, or trying to find the best mechanic in Denton..and look Im not the type of person to hype a place up like this, but this garage really deserves it.Ive gotten the best customer service I have ever received, not just in the realm of mechanics but Im talking about all facets of customer service. The only place I take my car. They use high quality parts, charge reasonable prices, and dont try to sell you stuff you dont need.Update: (Was a 5⭐ review before, if I could make it more I would.)Went in with a chirp sound when I applied the brakes, thinking it was a brake issue. They inspected, cleaned, and lubricated the brakes, and determined this was not the case, so they didnt charge me for any of that work.After more research and test drives, concluded it was probably the accessory belt, due to my cars unusual hybrid system. They replaced the belt and sent me home with a bill of less than $150, just for the time and materials it took to replace the belt.Thats completely insane, you wont find that anywhere else. These guys put hours and several test drives into my car, sounds are notoriously difficult to pin down. Based on reading about other people with the same issue, many shops would have thrown brake parts and tensioners at it and charged me for all of it, which would have quickly run north of $500+.I cant speak highly enough of Strandes Garage.

Great service, and very quick. Not overly expensive and they dont seem to try and screw you over. The owners and employees are very friendly and personable. The first time I came here was for an alternator test, and while the test passed, they offered a free retest if I had problems in the future. I came back when I needed my emergency brakes retightened and I was out within half an hour.Ive fortunately never had to visit them with any serious problems, but if I do in the future, Ill be heading back.

I hardly ever write reviews but this place was amazing. Here I was thinking I may have to buy another car because of a knocking sound coming from my engine. Turns out it was a loose bracket from when Toyota of Denton did an all points inspection. TJ and his team took precious time to figure out the problem with my Hybrid. Yeah a Hybrid. So u know it can get complicated. But they kept me posted throughout their progress. They went above and beyond to make sure the issue was solved by doing a rotation and alignment. Even driving my car overnight. Their customer service was amazing. I didnt feel pressured or ripped off. Toyota of Denton.....Ive had a lot of issues with u guys. I like the idea of having an electronic record of services done but youre costing me more money. Ill be going back to Strandes. Thanks guys!

They used to be good, but they are not up to par anymore. I am looking to bring it for the third time to get it fixed for the same issue (all new parts). They are not reliable unfortunately and not very helpful either since every time I bring it back for repairs they put me back in the normal waiting que, which now is about 2 weeks. They should prioritize the cars where it is their fault.

I honestly dont have enough good things to say about this place. Im a pretty decent mechanic but I recently moved to Denton and dont have a place to work or most of my tools at the moment. I dropped my grandmas car off right before they closed on a Saturday to have an engine mount replaced and a full front end break job including rotors/calipers done and they had it ready for me Monday afternoon. All work looked good and the price was fair!

Strandes does an AMAZING job of figuring out your needs and providing a sound recommendation. I didn’t come in with much to fix but they did their best and their best was PHENOMENAL! Ive been going to Strandes for years, and always have incredible service. With integrity and speed they have diagnosed and fixed my car, even driving me to work if I wasnt able to get the car back within an hour. They follow through in time estimates and have worked with me to ensure the lowest price while maintaining the highest quality over and over again.

TJ at Strandes Garage is the best mechanic I’ve ever met. Not only is he great at his job, but his customer service is outstanding. As a young adult, and a woman who doesn’t know anything about a car other than to drive, he points out any issue and works with you to not kill your pocket. The other staff is incredible too. Ask for TJ, though. He will help you 100 percent and be completely honest with you about your car needs. Honest business. I’m currently about to make a big move but I would travel back to denton for their service. Definitely a 10/10 but five stars will work here too!

Great mechanics!!!UPDATE: So, 4 years from original review, this place is still killing it. My teenage son needs a mechanic and I told him to use Strands Garage. I called to let them know he was coming and and the owner, TJ, took the time to give me valuable advice and opinion over the phone during peak business time (Thursday 8:00 a.m.) regarding an issue were having with a vehicle).I got on here to update my past review and noticed that someone gave this place a 1 rating and disparaged the business. I dont know all the circumstances but sounds like BS to me so lets call that 1 an extreme outlier and ignore it because the other 99% of customers give Strandes garage a resounding 5 stars.....and TJ is diffinitely not a liar when it comes to servicing your vehicle or advising you.

If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would, first off TJ is an amazing and super professional guy with extremely good customer service. I brought my pickup in for what I thought was a bearing making noise had already called and got a quote (cheapest in town) and they had already ordered the parts After TJ diagnose it, it’s actually not that. When showing me with a laser pointer which helped out tremendously so I wasn’t just nodding and agreeing he noticed a leak on my transmission and that I had uneven wear on my front tires. They did amazing work, completely serviced my transmission and a tire rotation and alignment and they did an excellent job. I keep my truck spotless and somehow I feel it’s less dirty than when I dropped it off. Their work is top notch and I will be using this shop as my only shop in the future. I was extremely impressed with TJ in the fact that he didn’t just do what I told him to do, he recognized that wasn’t the issue and brought to my attention something that could’ve been missed by someone not as thorough. It’s so rare to find honest people anymore and I believe that the manager TJ falls into that category. I am going to recommend this place to all my friends and family. As someone who has been on the blunt end of shady mechanic work TJ has made a lasting impression with me that has earned my business with him for life.

I am from Houston, but was having some car troubles on my way to Dallas. With the holiday season ahead I was sure I wouldnt be able to find a reliable mechanic in town. Although I dont typically trust garages, considering they are known to misguide women, it came from a reliable source, and I really needed the service.I cant express how thankful and completely satisfied I am with the knowledge, friendless, and professional service I received. The A/C on my Mercury Grand Marquis wasnt blowing as cold as it should, so I started looking for a garage to look at it. My then-girlfriend had brought her VW Bug to Strands for an oil change a few days before, but they saw that she still had a couple thousand miles left before it was needed, so they topped off her oil for free and sent her on her way. I love good customer service so I took my MGM by there. They checked the A/C (it was about a pound low) and changed my oil, all while I waited. They got me in quick, did a quality job, finished the work quickly, and charged a fair price. What more could you want? Ill be back when I need any more work done on my car.

Their diagnosis of problem was catalytic converter. But after they replaced it they said oh no it was transmission! They obligated me to pay $1000 to release my car. I paid and escaped them. It happens, diagnosis isnt accurate all the times. But, What I found later that an air bag sensor was not put in place for me as it was part of the deal. Manager name TJ lied to me about this sensor when I asked him when he knew I am taking my car out not caring about my family safety! This shop used to be good but they are not keeping it up. I am not one of their customers anymore. They lie

Thier diagnosis and rates are very genuine, reasonable, to the point and hence trustworthy. I have taken my car here a couple of times for brakes, alignment, AC compressor, etc, and always have been helped quite well and professionally by Andrew and TJ.

Great and honest mechanics! I live in Atlanta and they fixed my daughters radiator who is a student at UNT. They did a great job and they did not take advantage of her. We will definitely be coming back for her oil change soon.

Let me start by saying I never, ever write reviews.. this place is just that special. I’ve been here three times within the past year for my Toyota RAV4, and all three times I’ve worked with TJ.. I’ve never had a better experience with any service-oriented business in my life. My first repair with them was due to my alternator dying; I was able to text them first thing in the morning, and within an hour they sent someone over to tow my car from my apartment and fixed it within the same day. My other repair was for an AC replacement; TJ and the team took care of it within the same afternoon that I dropped it off. They’re so fair in their pricing (each repair has been half the price of any other quote from other shops), and so accommodating to every issue/time-frame. Today was the third time I visited them for my horn (it ended up being an issue with the fuse)— I was in and out of there in less than ten minutes towards the end of their work day. TJ is honestly the best.. truly doesn’t get any better. He’s sooo sweet, and so easy to communicate with. I’ll never go anywhere else for car issues, and would recommend Strandes in a heartbeat. Don’t go anywhere else!!

Strandes has found parts for, and kept running, my 1987 Ford Escort EXP since 1996. When told its a/c needed a condenser; I was broke and got a second opinion (Freon) from Strandes. Ive been with them since. James was an owner then; his son Danny has the same skills and integrity as his late father. Ive been stranded (no pun intended) a few times and Strandes has always come to my rescue promptly. Best of all, their prices are quite reasonable for a long-time senior citizen customer. I HIGHLY recommend Strandes.

I had a really bad car repair (not repaired) from PBoys. So upon checking websites and a few phone calls, I found TJ and the crew at Strandes Garage. They are very knowledgeable and professional. I have one of those oil leaking Cadillacs which are nightmares to work on. They had worked on some other cars with the same issues and took on my car problem and exceeded my expectations. I would recommend the crew at Strandes for your auto repairs. Also great customer service!!

Web site states classic cars.Called to get an estimate for a head gasket and fuel pump replaced on an 85 Trans Am. Guy said no they only work on daily drivers. Parts take to long fir old cars. I have all the parts needed the labor. So their advertisement should be updated

Best auto shop in Denton in my opinion. Quick, efficient and fair prices. TJ and Andrew are very professional and know their stuff. They seemed genuinely concerned about making sure I was back on the road with a healthy, working car.

Strandes does excellent work and stands behind everything they do.My son goes to UNT and they have always been there to help in every way when he has car trouble . It gave me peace of mind knowing they are there to help him since I live 2 hours from Denton.We trust them completely.

In my experience, Strandes Garage is the most honest group of mechanics Ive come across. Theyll let you know of things to keep an eye on, instead of just saying fix it. I had a very minor oil leak. They cleaned the engine off, and determined that it was coming from the gasket in the transmission. They said it would cost about $1,000 to fix it, and followed that up with saying that if they were in my shoes, theyd just check the oil level every month and add oil when needed.

I moved from Denton about a year ago to McKinney but remembered the great experience I had a few years ago and decided to come back to have my check engine light looked at. Worth the extra drive. TJ gives honest advice and presents the best options to you. Any future work my car needs, I will be taking it here.

Ive been taking cars to Strandes for 30 years. Kevin, Danny and team are honest, quality people who know cars, do great work and charge very reasonably prices. There are repair shops closer to where I live but I continue to drive across town to Strandes because theyre the best Ive found.

Strandes has been the primary folks for my Jeep since I bought it. My wifes family introduced me to the place as all of them have been bringing their vehicles here for decades. These guys are honest, hard working Christian folks and will not steer you wrong....EVER. Stick with the local guys in everything you can, and in Denton, Strandes is the best of the local guys.

Wish I could give no stars, they charged $6,000 for replacing head gaskets, rear main seals, and a bunch of other seals. What they actually did was put RTV silicone in places it shouldnt be. Missing bolts, snapped off bolts. They are a COMPLETE RIP OFF.

**BUYER BEWARE** Took my Mustang to TJ and left it with him to replace the steering rack while we were out of town. I told him there was no rush to get it completed as we would be gone a week. Car was left with him on Wednesday with a GPS tracking device and by Thursday he nearly had the old part out and ready to install the new one. We left on Friday and on Saturday I received a notification from the GPS device that the car had exceeded 85 MPH. On Sunday I had received another notification that the car had exceeded 85 MPH so I begin to look into the notifications and the tracking of the vehicle to see where it was being driven. The trip on Sunday indicated that my Mustang had exceeded 100 MPH (101 to be exact) and was now in Downtown Dallas with the fuel gage on empty. At first I had thought it was stolen but it later returned to the address in Flower Mound where it had been parked Friday and Saturday night after it left his shop. When we confronted TJ about the incidents he had reasoning and excuses for all of it and never took ownership of the excessive speeding or joy riding and never apologized. TJ never offered to make this right and I didnt ask him to so I paid the full $1,800 bill without hesitation. TJ’s work is and seems to be good but he should not take advantage of his customers trust and vehicles.

This shop is the best place I have ever found. It might be small, but the service is good. All the staff members are great and they will not try to sell you things you don’t need. TJ and his staff are honest and trustworthy. I appreciate Caleb taking care of an additional issue for me as well.

I recently brought my car up to Strandes for the first time to look over my a/c issue. Within an hour I was told what was wrong and they got my a/c working back to new at a great prices compared to the other places I had called around.

Ask for TJ he is knowledgeable professional and personal. As are the other employees at strandes garage. He shooed around for the best price when replacing my radiator, and didnt short cut quality of workmenship. Im an HVAC tech mid June so time is money! He got me back on the road next day!

Ive been dealing with strands since 2002 since I bought my vehicle it has been a wonderful experience as long as TJ was there he knows me firsthand I made an appointment the 28th of July because I was driving in from Oklahoma and now I get here and they dont have a record of it so not only did I drive 3 1/2 hours I have a hotel room for 3 days and TJ is nowhere to be found I understand now he runs body shop so they just threw me out cold like it was nobodys business AC repair replacement is about 2500 dollars a brake job will run about $500 and shocks either or thats another at least a thousand or more not including the labor so theyve turned this repair out to the street like I WAS TRASH like I was nothing I have dealt with TJ for 22 years and the way Im being treated today by his staff at BOTH body shop and Automotive is very heartbreaking TJ cannot be found they wont let me speak to him so needless to say I will never ever be coming back to Texas ever again it is very heartbreaking to know they treated a long-term customer like thisTJ this is very highly upsetting I hope you read this and you do know who I am and I never thought I would have ever been treated like this through you I had about $6000.00 worth of repairs today I made plans to stay in town in a hotel room for 3 days.When the owner gets this text review I sure hope he reads it and realizes I have been a long-term customer for years not often but when my truck needed something I came here its completely uncalled for the way this went down this AM and the woman at the desk at strands Automotive States shes the executive assistant to TJ and the way she talked to me she was like a damn hound dog disrespectful started yelling at me not listening to what I was trying to tell her so whoever the guy was that answer the phone when I talked to him on the 28th of July dropped the ball thats where it started on a different note the guy who came out from Body Shop to look at my vehicle just no enthusiasm no manners just blah like he didnt want to be there tells me my parts been discontinued its funny I can get that part in Lawton Oklahoma and Midwest City but I cant get it here in Texas seriously I already looked that up does he think Im an idiot my opinion from my visual on his appearance and his attitude and his body demeanor he didnt want to do a damn thing I actually have the ticket for that but hes printed out to me and he tells me hes going to get it apart take my vehicle apart and then he tells me he cant get the part its been discontinued the name on The Body Shop ticket is Steven Reinhardt tell me the parts discontinued but he wants to charge me $195 to take it out Walmart has a body shop take apart out that he just said is discontinued does he honestly think that a customers that ignorant International at somebody take apart off hear the vehicle up to get it out when he just said that the parts not available what kind of people are you running here you know when I came here Ive always dealt with TJ and nobody else and I guess this will be the last time I come down here because TJ is nowhere to be found body shop or Automotive it doesnt matter Ive asked to talk to him numerous times before I came down but the sad part is Im out 148.00 for a room 3 1/2 hours of driving fuel in time strength has always had a good rating on business characteristics politeness speed advancement towards their customers politeness accuracy is always the reason I came back but now that TJ is gone and I make this 3 and 1/2 hour trip not to mention the mileage and the time like I said Pryor and the cost of a room Ill never come back ever again TJ it was nice knowing you but this company now is bound to fail sometime or another because of their rudeness towards me unbelievable I will be sending to this Better Business Bureau and I hope and pray that the only reason because if this is how you operate now will have a serious problem and I can tell you part of that problem now went to BIG TO FAST

Came in with an electrical issue with my vehicle. After talking with several other people with mechanical knowledge, I got an actual mechanic to look at it (Josh) and he told me exactly what was wrong. These guys helped me out in a pinch and will be returning to have other work done on my Nissa Versa. Thanks TJ, Josh and all the other mechanics at Strandes Garage for your hard work!!

The only place I’ll take my car. Honest, to the point, no baloney, good prices, good work, and TJ recognized me even though I hadn’t been in the shop in a couple years. Friendly guys, no judgement on my duct taped bumper and the shop is close to downtown Denton to boot!

I got an estimate from another top rated garage in Denton that was close to $10kStrands Garage did the same work plus more for less than half the price (4.5k). They use only quality parts.

Everyone here is so nice and they get the job done so fast! I brought my car in on a Wednesday evening and it was done by Friday afternoon.

I’ve been bringing my vehicle here for years and will continue to do so. Great customer service, great work on my vehicle. One word - trustworthy.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable and courteous! I brought my car in because the a/c went out and it was making an awful rattling noise. They fixed my car the same day, and for significantly less than what I was quoted elsewhere! Thanks again, guys!!

Dont go here unless you want to pay top dollar for the worst service. Paid over 1k for parts to go out in one month.....in response to Kevin, I asked for him to reprint the invoice and he refused, he also went off subject and asked what I do for a living, he said well dont you mark up your prices? I said not by $500. I told him the mechanic shop the car was at a few days ago would have cost half the price. He said he would call up there to verify and hung up on me. No call back, no warranty, just over priced and bad mechanical work. I told him if my car was not repaired, these reviews would be posted and he said go ahead. Complete jerk on the phone, now upset his reviews are out for all to see.

They have A+++ customer service and fixed my car in a short amount of time. Kevin also drove me to and from work when I needed to drop off my car, and when I needed to pick it up! I will definitively go back with all of my auto needs!

TJ and Joe were both extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Id definitely recommend them if you need anything done on your car. They were much better than a few other places Ive gone to around Denton.

Been my go-to mechanic in Denton for years, will take care of you, tell and explain the issue, keep work to whats necessary.

Had to take my truck in for what I thought was a major problem but they told me everything that was wrong and saved me SO much money and got it done very quickly 10 out of 10 recommend and this will be the only shop I go to.

Worst service ever I was ignored when I came here for an alignment I waited and watched for about 5 min as 2 employees completely disregarded my presence one was on the phone and the other held a conversation about his vacation plans with someone on the opposite side of the desk I feel my time is important so finally I left and went to Pepboys where the service was amazing good luck if you choose this place

I got my car fixed by them and they had my car a week and still wasn’t done the promise time and i didn’t have a oil leak before taking the car there no oil in my driveway at all of sudden i get my car back i got oil leak and it’s a lot i paid $992 to get my car fix i feel like the created more problems to my car to keep me coming back

They did my alternator and the next day my alternator was bad again and they took no responsibility and said I would have to pay in full again to fix it .
