Cracks cracks cracks. Brand new home purchased 6 months ago and everyday I find something wrong. The warranty people stop answering my calls. Beware do not purchase these homes. DO not I should have known when I see them building a whole block in a month. I wish they had lemon laws for homes.

I would just like to share the current conditions that I’m having to deal with while being a home owner with Megatel. This is the state of my backyard that has been reported since August 2021. I’m beyond frustrated with the lack of communication and ability to fix the problem that has led to an useable yard.And this is just one of the many problems we have reported that are still not fixed.I’ve been told that they have over 100 tickets that have the same problem and they’ve pushed me to the top? So just highlighted that my house is not the only one that is having similar issues.I would not recommend building with this builder and we wish we could go back and place our trust with someone else.** My neighbors also had the same problem that they would not fix and just placed sod down. They ended up having to place turf in their backyard to fix the problem.

This builder doesnt stick by warranty of the product they sell. They are shady as hell. They cut corners and do completely horrible work.If you want the worst house you will ever buy with builders that read at a first grade level . Your at the right place. Otherwise go elsewhere to avoid the headache.

I moved into my new house in 2023 six months later I got cracks all down my driveway inside my garage. Megatail Homes are trash. They wouldn’t stand on a warranty. They waited till my warranty is up.!!

Obviously all of the 5 star reviews are paid for, they all seem to say the same thing. I can tell you all of them are a lie because I live in a Megatel home and have had an active leak for a year and they have YET to approve the repairs for a vent pipe that they placed in a wrong location. Our home windows leak when it rains and of course, they can’t fix two things at a time so I guess we’ll wait another year.

Horrible experience with this builder in Founders Parc! They post up billboards about homes for sale and when they’ve sold all their inventory, they leave their trash and try to force the HOA to pay for billboard removal… it’s been a year since the community was complete!

If I could put a negative star, I WOULD! Do not get stuck with these homes,READ READ the contract FULLY! It is terrible that they are having purchasers sign such contracts! Do not do it, they are so shady and they don’t care! They know they are shady and continue to lie and lie about everything! Have an attorney go through your contracts people! Stay aware of what you are truly getting into! It’s a huge purchase!

Despite being promised that someone would look into the matter, I have yet to receive any response or call back from your company. I kindly request that this matter be resolved as soon as possible. The Megatel sales agent took my money, let me select my property and materials and wrote up an agreement. Then the sales agent started not calling me back. When I finally got ahold of him, then they told me they sent me a cancellation letter because the property is no longer being built. I drove by and the property is up. They sold it to someone else right under me! - I never received a cancelation letter or my $5K deposit back. NOW I can not get anyone from Megatel corporate to even return my phone call or refund my $5K deposit. This is not good business.

Normally I dont write reviews but my experience with Megatel has caused me great mental distress!!!!!!!I am a homeowner of the new Megatel home in SoHo Square. I would like to express my upmost disappointment with Megatel as a company and as a whole. I would not recommend buying in the neighborhood. The building quality is poor, which is excepted when you use shade tree, unlicensed vendors. Megatel does not follow through on anything. We signed our contract 10/2020 but didn’t close until 4/2022. Megatel staff was very unorganized, the quality of the work is horrible, the contractors are young & inexperienced, vendors hardly ever show up on time or even at all. We closed on our home April 18, with a punch list of items still needing repair. As we’ve been in the home the list has grown. It’s been over a year and a half, there should be minimal work that’s needed. The painting on the inside of the house is HORRIBLE, (the entire house needs repainting) there are holes in the ceiling STILL! A lot of the vendors expressed how they’re not being paid properly, maybe that is the reasoning behind less than subpar work. Since we’ve been here (4/18) I’ve requested the vendors numbers. I have gotten more accomplished in a week than the builder in the last 4 months. I can honestly say, that every vendor I’ve been in contact with personally (via phone) has either shown up or told me they need payment first or they’re not coming back out for Megatel. There are still to date (8/20) things that need addressed. The house as a whole has a horrible paint, job to be honest. Our electric bill has increased from $98-$900! The HVAC was installed poorly, with little to no access to dampers. The outside ACs are not installed correctly. They need to all be moved to the backyards. Anytime the temperature gets over 100 outside, they cannot keep up. I have had an independent company come out and tell me that if I keep them where they are not only will they cause very high electric bills but they will also likely burn up the motor in a few years, causing us to have to completely replace the unit every few years. This was our first home purchase and it has been a very bad experience. I understand Covid happen, but that is not an excuse for the poor quality of this product of Megatel.

Its been less than a month we moved in a Megatel home. The house has been falling apart. We have had so many issues. First the delay which costed us additional 1000 to our monthly payments as the interest rates went up. Moreover, the overall house construction job has been very sloppy. Most of the material used is of poor quality and the painting job was extremely awful. We did raise the concerns with Megatel and they are trying to get some things fixed under the warranty. However, we were being told that we were supposed to do the touch ups ourselves insteading of raising concerns about this newly constructed home. Overall house has white bulbs, however, the living room and entrance chandelier lights are yellow which looks so odd. Kitchen cabinets were with cracks everywhere. One of the AC vents was flickering which has been fixed now. The guest bedroom door did not lock and close but is fixed now. The door knobs were lose and were told that we had to just grab the screw driver and tighten them ouselves. We were not answered why the door knobs were lose in the first place. The exhaust fan in the upstairs bathroom is not working. The powder room door knob fell off just after couple days of us moving in. Garage door concrete broken. Paint drips and smudges everywhere. Even the appliances used are of poor quality. There are no blinds here and we are new to Texas and its been extremely hot. Nobody cared to discuss the blinds option to us. Warranty was not explained clearly either. Wooden floor and bathroom tiles have chips in some places. After raising our concerns they did come and did some painting touch ups but they kept complaining at the same time that it was nothing to be concerned about and we should have done it ourselves and that we are nitpicking. Overall we are extremely disappointed, with this purchase and it was our first home purchase. Our entire excitement is gone. Paying extra 1000 would have been fine, however, paying that and finding so many issues with this home already is extremely terrible. We do not recommend Megatel homes to anyone.

Megatel is a company not based on quality, craftsmanship, great vendors, high moral. The 2 company owners do not value quality, great vendors, leadership, craftsmanship. Megatel is based on the dollar, poor quality, poor craftsmanship, no direction in management and management has no experience with construction. Builders on site have very little building experience, no concern for quality, no goals, no training, no moral, no leadership and love to work out in the community gym for hours during work. Several woman running the company with no building knowledge, unprofessional and very degrading to current employees. Megatel could be a great company if the owners understood quality, respect, craftsmanship and leadership.Possibly get out of your Bentleys and Maserati and focus on your company employees, creating a great company, employee leadership, employee training, expectations and direction with your employees.Sadly this company will not be able to produce great homes for customers due to upper management, lack of quality, no direction and poor values.

If I could give less stars reviews I wouldGive it. The Megatel is the greatest nightmare builder. I don’t want to talk about quality because that is miserable but during construction we got assigned 8 different construction managers, majority of them without previous experience. From internal resources we know, that Megatel refuse to pay standard fee rate to their contractors so no one worked on the construction for about 3-4 months until they decided to pay higher rate. Customer service is nightmare too. Please avoid at any cost.

The home build is nice, corners are square, tall ceilings, decent standard fixtures. We liked the sturdy star railings and the energy efficient details.The only issues we ran into, was getting items fixed on the warranty request. Construction management has changed 3 times, and they ha e people come out to fix that arent prepared.So good quality home, company needs some work.

I have been contacting since 9 months for warranty and absolutely dont care and even if you get someone advise you to go thru 2-10 warranty (post- man job company) who does nothing other than creating some document and send across to Megatel. For thousand of complains there is only one person i believe who does nothing other than just attending calls and make up some stories. Some of the houses pathetic designs and we cant touch since the repair cost is going be as good as new house cost. 30+ issues have been created since 9 months and absolutely all 30+ are still pending and one year warranty period also got over. Totally unprofessional and never get struck with this company.

Very poor communication as far as progressing in build and overpriced. I was about to closing but the appraisal came back with a big shock. I have asked the comps and Megatel has no response. The paint jobs are poor quality all around the whole house. The concrete and patio are very poor . I wouldn’t recommend anyone for Megatel.

My wife and I are excited to move into our property in Preston Hills. Megatel Homes helped us find a fantastic house with a great view. It is a beautiful and lavish house with the most incredible amenities. I am so thankful to them for their services.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to own a Megatel home. The entire process, from selecting our floor plan to moving in, was very smooth. They get ten stars from us!

Megatel homes are beautiful and a good value, but the design and project management is below average. When the builder built the home, the installer of the second floor subfloor left gaps. Some gaps were at least 4 square inches. The installer then simply layed the carpet hoping no one would notice the gaps. The other issue is the vent pipe for the dryer was not sealed to the roof, so the roof would leak and water would stream drown the pipe resulting in water damage to the laundry room ceiling and walls.

We had 2 homes built, both the EXACT same. 1 was great and the other has had issue after issue after issue. Most were right after warranty period ended. The wiring was all jacked up, pocket door was installed backwards, sewer vent BACKWARDS. Its almost like someone was drunk when building the home. The appearance looks fabulous but the bones are horrible. The one with all the issues is our rental property as well. Then if you try and find the person who installed the items that went wrong the company puts you on a wild goose chase. Met the owner of Megatel once while building and he was horribly rude and arrogant, even mentioned suing us as he stormed off in his Bentley . Even though 1 home turned out amazing so far, 2.5 years later, its not worth the gamble! Save your money and headaches!

I’ll start off by saying to NEVER buy a home built by Megatel. I have lived in a Megatel townhome in Allen off Stacy and Greenville for about 6 months. It has been problem after problem. The builders and Megatel do not care about quality whatsoever and there has been 3 different builders come and go in 6 months. They are always reluctant to fix things, so you have to harass them. We have had problems with air ducts, creaking floors, cracked tile, sprinkler system, flower beds and grass in the front yard, etc. The landscaping company told us that Megatel stopped paying them so they have not put any new plants or mulch in our flower beds nor were cutting our grass until we told the builder what was going on. They told us the sprinklers were fixed but they just turned them off. HOA is $125 a month, which I should get a refund because the money isn’t going toward what it is supposed to like maintaining the front yard. No one ever answers the phone at Megatel to speak with anyone and I heard they have a lawsuit with the building owner in downtown Dallas and are moving so you can’t show up in person to talk with anyone. My husband and I are beyond frustrated. If anyone has contact info let me know thanks!

Ive read some of the reviews before and ignored the comment on the service, but you wont realize it until after you put your money in and you get locked in that the unethical business practice begins.I provided a list of issues to be handled like any normal new construction request and I was met with bad attitude and excuses. I was practically forced to close.My suggestion, BUYER BEWARE. There are plenty of other projects nearby I should have went with. Hope my story helps someone.

I wanted a fully furnished house in the River Walk on an emergency basis. I approached Megatel Homes and I had a fantastic time collaborating with their team. They are always eager to comply with any request. I am a happy customer who frequently recommends them to others. Thank you.

My family used this builder. They delayed the start of the build, while other homes were started, they dragged their feet while other homes were finished. Finally when it came time to close they demanded an additional $120,000 or they were going to sell to another investor who could pay cash.There was no explication, no additional work was asked other than what was agreed at signing. No reason other than they found a way to make a buck. They had plenty of time to warn my family but waited until the last second. In the end they lost the house.I wouldn’t trust them no matter how much you save by working with them.

I love my new home! The home buying process with Megatel was an absolute BREEZE! The Sales Consultant was extremely helpful answered all of my questions no matter how dumb, and the finish product was even more perfect than I could have ever imagined! If you ask questions, and are present through out the process you wont have any issues at all!

We had very bad experience with Megatel. Kim is very short tempered, arrogant while talking she is the sales person, she is not welcoming at all. We had trust issue with the prices and they left big tree in the back yard without removing it till date. Please don’t buy any homes with Megatel Homes.

Stay away with this builder! They increase 25% of the price before closing the house. We signed contract last Nov, and they contacted us on ready to closing on June. We started the loaning process, then they keep delaying our closing date and walk through. Today, they just contact us and asking for 100K more on the house. Not even bother to give us any reason. What is the point of signing a contact? This Builder is not integrity nor has respect to the sprit of the contact. BE CAREFUL, CHOOSE SOMEWHERE ELSE!

This company is terrible. DO NOT BUY A MEGATEL HOME!!!!! We have lived in our townhouse for a year and still have tickets opened form when we first moved in. We have grout in our shower that is cracked everywhere and water was seeping through the cracks and getting outside the shower under the tile floors. They replaced the floors in the restroom however they still have not repaired the grout in shower. We have not been able to use our shower for 3 to 4 months. We have cracks in the soffits outside that was suppose to be fixed months ago however it still has not. I have a window that air leaks through due to it not being set correctly and it has yet to be address. All Megatel wants is to just get you in the house and never repair anything. THEY ARE A SCAM!!!!!

I would like to start off by saying every negative review is spot on! Here is the main kicker, MCI Mortage who is there preferred lender offered $3,000 towards closing which is why we chose Megatel. We received a closing date only to be changed 3 times and finally MCI discontinued communication. Shortly after that Megatel discontinued communication and we can’t get anyone to return text, emails or calls. They have now breached there own contract, stolen $4,000 plus of our money with no response. We will have now hired an attorney and will be going after them for fraud. This company is fraudulent, stay as far away as possible.

Signed a contract Aug. 1st to build a home in Flower Mound on the Riverwalk and told multiple times (yes even with the Covid) that my house would be done in August! That was about 4 supervisors ago and then signed my least for October! Now other houses are being completed but not mine!! It goes weeks without any work done (and no this is not because of inspections because the other house would have the same problem if that was the case).If it is not done by the middle of October then you all will need to pay my rent of over $7,000 a month! Why is house #2217 more important than my house #4428!! I have to tell the apartment today if I am extending my lease. I cannot afford to move somewhere else or even stay here after Oct.Why don’t they just finish this house!!!! I had a ton of people wanting this area and I told them about my nightmare dealing with this company and the many many turnovers you all have! SAD

Raised the price of our new build townhome over $120k (~30%) from original purchase price, and have yet to complete the build over a year after it was supposed to be done. (Supposed to be completed in 2021 as we signed in 2020). Little to no progress has been made over the entire duration of 2022 on the construction of our townhome so we pulled out of the contract after they tried to raise the price a 2nd time.

Megatel Homes has numerous homes in several neighborhoods in Austin, TX. They were all beautiful and had high-end features. We chose one with a pool because it appealed to us the most. I appreciate the teams dedication and hard work.

Absolutely awful. They changed our closing date over a dozen times, we almost never had a build meeting with the same builder twice. Post build warranty items were almost never completed in a single trip, when they did show up. 5 times they were scheduled to come do warranty work, but no call no showed.Examples of other issues include: They also forgot to properly disclose PID information during the sales process. The contract they gave us to sign as a different price than their agent quoted us, causing us to have to go back three times before they got the initial contract right.

The Anacapri community by Megatel Homes is a hidden gem. The location is convenient and the homes are elegant and well designed. We feel like were living in a resort every day.

We have signed the contract a year ago, still waiting for our house to be finished. Looks like the construction manager does not review the vendor/labors work. Poor workmanships and tons of mistake. Floor plans look great. The company does not have the efficient construction manger.Upper management needs to hire efficient crew. These people are screwing up company’s image.

Horrible, they lie to you during your walk thru. They tell you its covered and once your closed, they come and tell you that your warranty items discussed in the walk thru is not covered. They have peoplenty that dont care about you. If you deal with Adam at sales office, he beats around the bush, never a straight answer. IF you get Trevor, in Woodbridge area, he attempts to help but tells you his hands are tied. And Lord, if you get Justin the warranty guy, your screwed as hell. GOOD LUCK, DONT BUY , GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING.

They are an amazing company. From the moment I walked into their offices, I felt welcomed. I could feel that they genuinely cared about my interests. The quality of work they delivered is great too.

They are the best. We contacted them for our home project, and they allowed us to give inputs on the design. All our inputs were put into consideration, and today we have the home of our dreams.
