Area Wide Services

By far Area Wide is the best HVAC company around the lake. Ive been using them for years, they are always on time, professional, courteous, and quick to get your system up and running. I would, and have recommended them to anyone needing HVAC services.

I would like to thank AWS for their quick an professional response. The tech was very knowledgeable and polite. I strongly encourage you to do the preventative maintenance agreement they offer! James and his team are wonderful people!!

Super bad experience. Tech did not know what error code meant on split unit. Had to call Gree tech support who supposedly told him to cut a wire for triage. Finally put in new sensor but still would not work. Tech called tech support again and waited for 4 hours for tech support to call back. No call back so not fixed. I had someone else fix it but I did allow first tech to put in sensor which he now thought was problem per tech support as 2nd tech needed 2 days to get the motherboard. (I was willing to try anyting for air in TX!) Owner denied error code but tech told me there was one first time. Owner would not help me get recording of tech being told to cut wire. (Other tech who fixed said wire should not have been cut and it was actually mother board error code. Fixed it with no probs since.) I was unable to get recording of course as I was not a party to the recording. If tech was truly told that, shouldnt have been a problem. I disputed my credit card charge but they said they fixed it. Funny, even told me not fixed since tech support (which other tech didnt need) never called back. Never seen such a system. (I had no air for almost 2 weeks.)

I had an entire system installed in 2020 and change filters religiously but every year since install I have encountered and issue with the unit. I called today and no time did anyone advise service charge would be more due to holiday, instead just dispatched a tech and then charged me over $1000 for something that should have been under warranty. When I called the office to attempt reach a reasonably resolution given that there was no disclosure. Leslie was rude and took no ownership in being deceptive in her approach claiming it was early when I called. I should have asked but given the 4 year relationship I expect they would have advised before sending a tech. I will never do business with this company again and BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

Damian came out and serviced our unit as part of the maintenance program. He did an outstanding job of making sure everything was working properly. He completed a thorough cleaning of the outside unit as well. He was polite and courteous. Great job James and Damian!

Area wide saved our 4th holiday weekend. I went to prep our house the evening before guests arrived and the temp was 99. They came out that night and by the morning it was perfect! Thank you for keeping it cool!

Fast response time. Damian was very knowledgeable and polite. He repaired two problems with my AC and explained what caused the issues. He also wired a fuse to the circuit to prevent future issues. He was fast and very confident in his work. Ive used 2 other AC repair companies and this has been by far my favorite.

They did a great job with installing my A/C. Fast-responding customer services. Great work all around!

We are extremely happy with the work Area Wide Services has done for us. They had to replace a WHOLE system and did a fantastic job. They worked around some major issues regarding accessibility and helped us solve the problems. Our techs Jimmy and Josue did a fantastic job and were super friendly and knowledgeable! They traveled quite a ways as well and were always on time. The office was always able to work us into their busy schedule in a timely manner. All around a fantastic company to work with. We are replacing another system in a couple/three months and will write another follow up review. Highly recommend!

They came out to give me a price and was on time, gave me a price on the spot after he measured everything. Didnt have to wait days or weeks for a price. Told me when they could be here for installation. Called before they came and was done when they said they would be. System is working great.

We had no a/c for nearly week and a half and gave up on home warranty and their companies they use. We called area wide and they did everything they could went out of their way to answer every question and concern, and got us up and running again! Great people with this company!

Our A/C unit was 13 years old and struggling with leaks and other problems. Dustin came out and evaluated the system. Repairs were going to run very near what the replacement cost was. So we decided on a new unit. Juan (our technician) and an assistant worked all day long with the installation, clean up and hauling away the old equipment. They were extremely professional and polite. All the work was done efficiently. Dustin followed up with me after the install to check to be sure we were satisfied or had any issues, which of course, we had only great things to say. I hope we don’t need to replace another one of our older units anytime soon, but if and when we do, we will definitely use Area Wide! They are always available, 24/7, and very polite and professional! Excellent company and people!!

Area Wide does not rate a star, but that isnt an option!I went through Home Advisor website and Area Wide Services was one of the recommended companies. The tech that came out is James. James was courteous and friendly. I had the company come out to solder the copper lines of the new heat pump and furnace that I ordered online and setup. He was then to start up the system to validate our warranty. After soldering the lines, James had a difficult time figuring out why the unit was not working properly. His first thought was that the unit didnt not come charged with freon. However, the units we purchased come fully charged. He charged the unit with one or two lbs of freon. When James left, after 3 hours, we were advised the unit was working fine, but we need to change out the thermostat wire to 8 wire so that there would be a line to the heat pump. He also advised that my Nest thermostat was the wrong one for my unit, but this is the one that came with the unit from the online company. The following morning, I changed out the thermostat line and started back up the system. The system never blew really cold air and after four hours of no change in temperature I turned off the system and called another A/C company because James stated that Area Wide was too busy and he would not be able to come back the following day after I changed out the thermostat wire. The tech from the new company was able to find the problem within about an hour. James, Area Wide Services, had not cut the copper plug that stops trash from entering the A/C condenser unit when shipped. James had also over charged the system which would have completely trashed our new system if we had continued to run it.Area Wide Services charged me $95.00 service trip fee, 3 hours of labor at $95/hour plus the cost of the freon and gas to solder the lines. The final bill was over $500. On top of that, we had to pay $600 to the new company to come and fix the system. I have placed 5 different calls to Area Wide Services asking for the manager or owner to give me a call back. As of yet, I have not received any return call. Area Wide Services is a failure by ALL measures, workmanship, and customer service!

Had to have an indoor unit replacedthis summer and all the staff I saw and spoke with were very courteous and helpful. They have excellent customer service and go out of their way for their customers. Additionally, the installation tech Josue Ramirez was very efficient, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Great company that we will use again.

Our technician that came out to do our maintenance today was Dustin Jackson. He was a very nice young man and very thorough. He explained everything in detail and did an amazing job. I appreciate how efficient he was and nice this young man was and your company is lucky to have an employee like Dustin. I hope he is the one that comes to do our service in the future.

They just did an excellent job. OurAC went out and they came to check it out.The technician did everything he could to get up and running but it was old and just died. He explained our options and we went with a new system. Installed without problems and I love the new system.

Area Wide installed our air conditioning heating when we built our home 12 years ago. We have had them do the maintenance ever since. We are signed up for all year long maintenance care. They come out and check out our unit and make sure everything is ready for the summer and the winter. They have very professional, qualified employees who take very good care of us.. Area Wide installed our system when our house was built 7 years ago and has been there every step of the way with great service. They always follow through on commitments and have helped us improve/upgrade our system as we made changes to our home. I am very happy with every aspect of the products and service they provide.

We had to replace both our systems in our house. They did a great job and very professional. They worked late both days to get the job completed on time. Thanks also to Tim in sales, very helpful in selecting the right units.

Had a new system installed and very pleased. Have had these folks maintaining the system. Had a drain line back up from septic tank discharge. Was a plumbing issue. They were quick to respond (we live about an hour from Corsicana) and fixed the issue. Back now to normal with all around good heat and cooling. All is well - I highly recommend these people.

They have been very good about doing WHAT they say they will do WHEN they say they will do it.Its really nice when a service person shows up on time.Their employees are clean, polite and well spoken. AND, they do quality work.They have always been willing to go above and beyond when necessary. The best recommendation I can give them is that If I needed a new system OR repairs, I would call them again.

This was a new install for a new home. The tech, Dustin Jackson, has been out twice and each time did a great job. Very respectful, professional, and explained exactly was was going on. Very satisfied with the services and your tech.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They will leave you hanging for days and then over charge you for services. I called on Thursday morning to have my split system checked out because it wasnt blowing cold. I was told to expect someone that afternoon. It was MONDAY morning before they showed up. The technician found a loose flange connector that had leaked half of the 410 out. I consider this an installation error, but they dont seem to care about that. They charged me an exorbitant trip charge, plus two hours labor for the guy to walk in and out over and over, on top of the 2 lbs of 410. Contacted the company to discuss, but their hands are tied...

As a local Fire Chief, I am picky to whom I do business with. When my HVAC system went out, I wanted the best to work with. I looked online and seen some reviews of others, and I seen the reviews of Area Wide. I know they did some work at the fire station and trusted them. I made the call and James cam right over, did the evaluation of what was needed, we agreed on price, and set installation date. What was nice was instead of costing me out of pocket all at once, he suggested a program with low interest, what a lifesaver. Our new system has lowered my Electric bill over $180.00 a month. Well worth the investment. When time, they called and set up an appointment to check it again, it was preforming well. Tim Boyd showed up shortly after I called in (impressive since we are 45 minutes from the closest Area Wide). He explained what was going on with our AC and offered more then one solution to fix it. By the end of the same day his guys had a new outside unit installed &&& we were cooling off again! The next morning he stopped by just to make sure we were happy with the service we received! TOP NOTCH Customer Service in my book! Thanks Tim!!!

Great company! Call them up and immediately get a live person who wants to know your name, not your Customer Number. They installed the system on our new house, and have maintained it for the last two years. Lots of great people there who I have come to know really well. Not many companies like this left.

Area Wide Service proved to be an excellent HVAC company.I Called to get a price quote on my spring A/C check and/or maintenance, received a very fair quote along with friendly customer service.When the technician came out, he was on time and courteous. He gave a couple of tips on care to help my unit function better and extend its life, way beyond what I’ve experienced with other companies.I’ll be a return customer when my next HVAC drive of maintenance is needed!

Dustin Jackson from Area Wide Services as the person who came to service our air conditioner today. He was was very courteous and did a great job. He was very knowledgeable and explained his process and our all our questions were answered. We would definitely have him back.

Customer Service at first was top notch. Technician showed up same day. That is where it went down hill. I have a 2 stage 18 SEER Trane System that they do not know how to work on. instead of stating such they charged me for 2 hours, a service call and basically just fixed 2 wires and said the control board was bad, still not operational. I found that interesting since the units are only 2 years old. Well called another service company out. They fixed a faulty pressure switch - nothing wrong with control board at all. I called to ask for a refund and still no call back. I would go elsewhere for services.

Great service, my system quit cooling on a Saturday evening. Called and had a tech Sunday morning, problem was diagnosed and repaired. Initial quote was 3660, wrote a check for 3900, upcharge for freon.

We have been tremendously pleased with the speed at which Area Wide Services answers our calls for help. It has not mattered what time of the day or day of the week that we have needed help; we can call the office and request a service with the assurance that we will be visited by a courteous, well-trained technician in an amazingly short time. Grigar (Jimmy) did a great job on replacing our AC. Had new unit installed, up and running within 3 hours. He is very knowledgeable and does his job well! Even came by the next day after 9 pm to check up on the unit.

I had Area Wide come out to service my HVAC unit because we have been dealing with an odor problem off and on for over a year due to humidity. The technician Allen who came out was wonderful. He was very professional and knowledgeable about how to solve this problem. He came out on two separate visits and completely cleaned my HVAC drum and fan of some hard residue that had accumulated and was causing the problem. He also took the time to talk to my husband on the phone and tell him everything he did and saw as my husband was at work so I didn’t have to explain everything later. I’m very happy we found this company and we will be return customers.

I have used Area Wide Services several times and they always have such quick response times and get my air conditioning back up and running. They are great!

They must have written the reviews that are on their site because we had a terrible experience with this company. They changed the install date 3 times the day they were supposed to do it they sent one guy who was supposed to come at 8am & showed up at 9am at 3pm a helper came it took them 11hrs to do the install and they came without all the equipment they needed. 3 weeks after it was installed they were supposed to come back to finish at 8am but at 8:15 they called to.change the time. I have lost a lot of work over this and am not happy. I do not recommend this company.

Just had an A/C unit installed and was very happy with the service and installation performed by both Dustin and Alex. Both technicians were very friendly and took the time to answer any questions that were asked and made sure that the wife and I understood the answers. During the installation they were always aware of any debris and continually cleaned up after themselves. I replaced my A/C through Area Wide, and have an ongoing service contract with them. They are always prompt, courteous, fast, and show up when they say they will. They always call first, to let us know when they will be here, and should we have a problem, they get here quickly. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Possibly the worst company I’ve ever dealt with!Had an ac issue the 25th of August so I called for a service call. The tech showed up and said it was going to be $400 for a $100 dollar fan motor and $200 dollars for a $20 capacitor on top of the $170 dollar service call fee! He said everything needs to be replaced and said it would be $15000 dollars to replace two 2 ton ac systems (my brother just had two 2-1/2 ton systems installed in his house for $8000)! I have a home warranty so they contacted area wide where they were unresponsive when all they had to do is send an email to make the repairs! But needless to say here it is Friday evening and they told the warrant folks we would have to wait till Tuesday before we can get anything done! Honestly don’t know how they are still in business but their is little competition in this area but no excuse for that bad of costumer service!A different contractor come out Tuesday and fixed the problem in 15 minutes Guess I know who not to call when I have an air conditioner issue in the future!

Area Wide Services, Inc., has serviced our HVAC system for over 5 years. Their technicians are always professional, knowledgable and dependable. We have had no issues with our system since they have done the maintenence. I would highly recommend this company!

Had a completely new AC/Heat pump system installed. Had a problem soon after with a Freon leak that they addressed right away. One week after the years warranty expired, system stopped working again. Tech was very courteous and resolved the issue right away.

Got robbed for 800.00 for them to put 3 lbs of Freon in They overcharged it so bad the compressor could hardly run causing a loud noise shaking the inside lines called them 2 times to tell them and nothing Had to call someone else to remove some Freon now it cools with no noise 800.00 for this is highway robbery. Maybe I need a attorney. Not a good way to stay in business So Buyer Beware Never again for me

The technition was on time and very professional and courteous, which is the only reason I gave this company 1 star. However, the free estimate advertised on the webpage was completely bogus and we were charged $170 for a 15 to 20 minute visit with no repairs done and we were told our air conitioning unit could not be fixed and would need to be replaced. I understand having to pay for the service call, as everyone needs to make money, but $170 for no work to be done is obserd.

Dustin Jackson is the MAN!! Came in and was able to solve issues previous workers were not able to. Very professional highly recommend this service, Area Wide Services have top tier professionals.

The most recent time they were at my house they just tried to up-sell me to spend $7000, and the other times I’ve tried to use their services they rescheduled me twice resulting in almost 2 weeks of time lost. I’ll never call them again.

Our tech was Mitchell , we enjoyed how fast and accurate and knowledgeable he was on our unit .even when we wanted to throw the towel in on our unit he was able to save the day and save us a boat load of money . Thank you Mitchell with area wide you are to good for words !

We had a new a/c & heating unit installed in May 2017 and have been extremely pleased with the unit and especially thrilled about the savings on our electric bill. They did an outstanding job!!

My 5100 square foot dental office has a complex need for various temperatures in various rooms from freezing cold in the surgical areas, to in between for routine areas, and just a comfortable for an additional 2 zones in the living room and the break room. Grigar and his crew did an outstanding job setting it up on time in the original build, making it fully automated and controllable from my phone, and the small issues that will happen with a system my size here and there they have been amazingly responsive in remedying it quickly.

This company is thiefs!!! I had a small duct area broken. It cost me 150.00 for them to come check it out and tell me what was wrong. Then they came back on a couple of days later and charged me 296 and some change to fix it. They charge 75.00 per hour and it only took one hour to fix it. They said I had to pay for a whole roll of duct even though I only used 8 inches of the roll. They offered to leave me the extra but I dont live at that house or in that town anymore and this was a repair we made after we closed on our house. I really dont know what I would do with it but I bet this air conditioner company will be using it and charging other customers for it. Its funny such a small repair cost me 450.00.

They are available year-round and provide reliable service to our HVAC system.We just received our system check-up and Mac did a thorough job to help insure continuing proper operation of our systems.

What a joke. I am a customer of this place we called to ask about a part for our AC unit they said they had it in stock and was over $140. The part was $24 bucks at a local electrical supply store. If this is how you treat your customers then Id hate to see how you treated people that wanted to become your customers. safe to say we are done with area-wide thanks but no thanks.

Called these clowns and was charged $600.00 for a capacitor...Called other A/C people and was told should have not cost more than $150...Tech also states I hope it last a week...Soon contact ed by a sales person who tried to sell me a new system.. Our A/c worked fine since the... Stay away.... RIPOFFS...

Area wide installed a 17 seer American Standard AC system. Very good experience from salesman thru installation and operation. So far, so good.

We had issues with our unit and have several people come out and no one could fix the problem... Rick came out and within 45 mins had the unit working very kind man.

Twice I was told someone would be at my house to replace duct work and twice no one showed up and twice no phone call, when I called them I was told they had alot of emergency calls, I was told they would do the work next week, poor business practices

I dont know that much about electricity, with the move and everything going on I didnt realize I didnt have a beaker or line run to the outside unit, that was on me , but for a company to have a tech come make sure he takes the cover off making sure he gets 95 for the service call and 95 for the first hour for him to know there was no line run to breaker and for them to charge me that, I believe they are just sorry, because he didnt do anything, but I will never use area wide services again, and I will make sure no in my family use them
