AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care

Had a problem with my manual transmission, drained oil and found shards of metal. I called aamco and right away told me what they could do and gave me a free bench test for my transmission. Through out the process Daniel helped me and was up front and honest about my damage. Even went as far as sending me pictures of my damaged when asked. He was very nice and helpful to me and definitely recommend for any tranmission issues. Will be returning!

I had a real bad experience with this AAMCO on Leopard Street in Corpus Christi. I brought in my truck for a problem with transmission not going into 4th gear and asked for specific issue to looked at. I was told by Daniel that the transmission needed a rebuild and would take 4-5 days to have ready. After 2 weeks I called and was notified the truck had the exact same issue with transmission not going into 4th gear, keep in mind that the new rebuild was completed but experienced the exact same issue. I believe Daniel overlooked the problem and went straight into needing a rebuild to bill me out thousands instead a minor fix. I was later told that AAMCO caused damaged to other parts of my truck and I should be grateful they fixed the issue they caused and did not care that I lost out on thousands for 2 additional weeks it took them to complete the repair. I would not recommend this particular AAMCO or at the least get a second opinion as I was tied up in another state and couldn’t take the time to have a second opinion for myself. I was also denied the old parts so I could have them inspected and told that 1st through them away. 2nd that I would have to pay for the old parts on my truck and lastly that they would not give them to me. I also asked for a phone call with the owner to express my displeasure with Daniel yelling at me and never got that phone call. I highly recommend thinking twice before allowing Daniel to scam you out of thousands of dollars before you agree.

I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. I would give this place negative reviews if I could. I drove my car from Cimarron and Yorktown for my car to not even want to run after picking it up. 7 days for them to tell me that all the work they did on it was for nothing and that I ultimately needed a new motor. I was quoted THOUSANDS of dollars for things that didnt even need to replace. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND TAKE YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I came to them cause I over charged my wife’s ac in her car and didn’t know what to do. Danial was very helpful and understanding about the situation. I cannot thank them enough for helping me not look like a fool and getting me back on the road.

Waited over a month for the car to be returned to us after getting the runaround. Constantly finding more parts needing to be replaced or fixed and drained us of close to $2000. When we finally got the car back, there was severe cosmetic damage around the ignition switch. We also discovered the driver door will no longer lock or unlock manually or automatically. Now being told that’s how they received the car which is a flat out lie. Totally unacceptable.

Update to my review.I would not recommend AAMCO.I received my vehicle back in worse condition than it was when I left it with them. They had it for approximately 6 months. I had to drop it back off with them after my initial pick up because the problem I took it in for persisted the following hour after leaving the shop. After they took it back for work under parts and labor warranty, I did not hear back from them for months. They told me parts were hard to find so I gave them time. When I finally decided to call, they told me, they called me the day after I dropped it off to tell me the warranty expired.The warranty expired while it was under their possession and they then offered to sell me another part.My 4 wheel drive worked before I left it with them and I can no longer put the vehicle in 4 wheel drive or drive it for longer than 3 minutes.All this while they assure me that, your vehicle is repaired and runs fine.Their customer service is okay but thats how they trapped me into trusting them.I do not recommend AAMCO.

Thank u to Ernest for taking the time to explain the process of the diagnostics when I first called in to ask questions. A BIG thank u to Daniel for the explanation on the process of replacing the transmission. Got that done. Engine light came on & it was a sensor got that done. Truck did not start it was the starter got that done. Everything happened at once as the truck was already in the shop. Daniel kept us updated through out the whole process. I highly recommend AAMCO. They took care of all our truck needs in a timely manner.

We were on vacation and our transmission went out while we were driving. Daniel and his team were very helpful, kind and polite. We were able to leave the vehicle and continue our vacation worry free. Outstanding service! I was in a serious bind, out of town traveling with my son and transmission gave completely out. Over heated and smoked the gears just completely broken. They were able to switch out my transmission and get us back home within 2 days. They gave us a fair price for the work completed and provided us with transportation to and from the hotel. Even offered a payment plan 12 months 0 interest. Costly repair made affordable. Daniel Rivas, Gene and the staff were down to Earth and made my son and l a priority over the Memorial day weekend. 100% would recommend

My check engine light came on on my 2020 Honda and I took it to one shop who was trying to charge me an insane amount of money. I took it here and Daniel did a thorough check, found the issue, and did the repairs for a fraction of the cost of the first shop. I am so glad I got a second opinion and will definitely continue using this location for my vehicle needs.

I would strongly suggest to find another shop to do transmission work. I purchased a transmission $4,300. It failed. 4 months later. Issues with the work on day 3 and shop states it’s normal. So, I strongly suggest to find a reputable shop and avoid AAMCO in Corpus Christi and do your due diligence as I regret not doing. I find this business to be unprofessional and unethical and engage in deceitful and unfair business practices. Stay Away…

Brought in my vehicle for what I thought was going to be an expensive repair. I was quoted several hundred dollars more elsewhere. I was recommended by a friend. Daniel was able to explain to me what was happening to my vehicle in terms that I could understand and ended up saving me hundreds of dollars. Definitely coming back if I should have anymore problems. An honest/good mechanic is hard to come by these days.

After two transmission rebuilds through my warranty company I was very pleased with this shop until my last experience. Since they claim to be a full service shop I elected to send my sons malibu there for what I thought might be a head gasket replacement. Turns out it was the thermostat housing that needed to be replaced. Daniel quoted me over $200 for the part new or just under $200 refurbished and a grand total of over $600 for the complete repair. I went online and called two auto parts stores and the highest price I could find for the part was $87 and one look at YouTube showed me how to do the job myself in about 20 minutes. When I told them my son was coming to get the car they informed me that I owed a $175 diagnostic fee! Im pretty sure that diagnosis entailed looking under the hood or putting it up on the lift and starting the car to see where the water was coming from. AND AUTO MECHANICS WONDER HOW THEY GET SUCH A BAD REPUTATION?

This place is extremely unprofessional! Daniel called today to let me know my vehicle was ready. My husband happened to get home early from work called them to let them know we were on our way we would be getting there 10-15 minutes after they were closed I was told that was fine they would wait. We drive 40 minutes to get there and no one is there. What a waste of time and gas. If they didnt want to wait they could have told us no instead of having us go ALL the way there. Definitely not a company that is true to their word.

After 190,000 miles, it was time for repairs on my GMC. The staff was professional, friendly; and explained what was wrong, ensuring that the work was done right. They were fair in pricing and explained all the financing options to me to pay for the repairs. The manager went out of his way to make sure I was able to pay for the parts I needed. Highly recommended.

Be sure to record all of your conversations with these people. This is NOT the place to take your vehicle to. They lie and lie about what they told you.

This is an awesome place. No one else will ever touch my car! I had my Transmission go out shortly after buying my used car. They worked very hard with my warranty and got my new transmission in and it works great. They were professional and kept me up to date every step of the way. Now Im bringing it back for the AC. These guys are amazing.

Went to AAmco Corpus Christi expecting to have to wait several days to get my car back and expecting to have to pay several thousand in repairs. After approx 2.5 hours they advised me that my problem was only a couple broke bolts and they replaced them at no charge. This was all on the day after Christmas. Thank you from a very senior citizen.

Been wanting my ATF and Differential flushed so I stopped by, Daniel helped me right away and assured my vehicle could be done the day of even as I came in near the end of the day right after work. Even the other Service Writer, Jean (Hope that’s correct spelling😂), was very friendly and knowledgeable. Technicians were very responsive with my vehicle and the shop was damn clean, impressive. Would love to come back in the future for more maintenance and repairs.

I do not recommend this place even for a joke! My truck was with them for 2 weeks due to transmission failures, they told us that they would fix it in 1 week (lie!) the date arrived and when my husband called to go pick it up (it was supposed to be ready by now) they told him that They still hadnt fixed it, and someone had entered the place to steal catalysts! and oh surprise! our truck was stolen 😡 no wonder it was them! In total, they were not responsible for the theft or for replacing the catalytic converter, I had to pay 600 dollars out of my pocket to replace the one they lost! And aside 4,000 dollars for the transmission that they didnt fix. My truck was the same or worse than when I left it there. If you dont want to waste your time and money, DONT COME TO AAMCO! lousy service and 0 communication, if you dont call, they dont talk to you to tell you about anything. Like when the catalytic converter was stolen, they never called us to notify us that our truck had been stolen.

Amazing customer service! Had an issue with my car and when I called they offered to tow my car for me during bad weather at an excellent price. Was able to then evaluate and fix my car within an hour! He helped us to get to our friends wedding on time, would recommend to anyone!

6/12/20I dropped off my Porsche Cayenne on 5/11/20. Daniel told me it would be 2 weeks. I picked it todaytoday a month later, in worse condition that when I dropped it off. I didnt even make it home when it overheated and has a ticking sound coming from under the hood that wasnt there before. Here I am stranded on the side of the road. I text Sean 3 times and no reply. Before I left the shop I told Daniel that their customer service needed a lot of help. Before I left he comes to the door and says God Bless you I turned around and he shot me the finger. I had a few choice words for him as well and I left, after paying $421. My warranty payed almost $4, 000 for a water pump and a transmission jobs. Two weeks ago the warranty company called me and said that my estimate was $18,000 for a transmission job. I told Sean that I was not going to pay $13,000 difference. he asked me what I meant and I said my warranty only covers up to $5,000. he said if we would have known that we would have approached it differently. I dont know what that means or what he meant by it. The last two weeks that they have the car they have told me several times that they would call me and not one time did they call me when they said they wouldnt. I felt like I was being a nuisance by calling them to get an update. This past SaturdayI went in there and there was a gentleman complaining about their service to Sean as well. I stood there and listened to his complaint and was the same as mine. I will get a hold of the warranty company to let them know how they got the warranty to cover it. And I will get a hold of AAMCO corporate office to let them know how crooked they are. I have been sitting on the side of the road since 6:25pm and it is now 8:10pm and they still have not called me

Got recommended here by a friend because I was new to the area. Been back a couple times and will always only choose this shop for my cars. I always talked with Shawn who is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Great work at a good price! Friendly people who have your best interest in mind are hard to find, especially in car shops, but this place has it down! They actually care about you and your cars. I will always give them 5 stars!

This company worked with me very well. I had dropped my vehicle off to get it warrantied, and they worked quickly and effectively. Unfortunately, by the time they were ready to repair it (about 4 days), I had to take it back and travel, where i dropped it off at another store in a different town. After discussing with the workers, they were happy to assist me with information transfer between the two stores which lead to quick repairs. Would highly recommend this company as very helpful people who are more than happy to help the customer.

Great staff. My car was done faster than I expected it to be done. Shawn was very helpful and even explained the work he did on my car. Also wants to see it for a follow up just to ensure that its functioning the way it should be. My car drives better than ever. I am very satisfied with the work.

My transmission went out so I called around and ended up using them for the repair. They were able to work with me and finance half of the cost which helped out. It didnt take them long to get my truck repaired and back on the road. I have no complaints.The customer service was on point and I think they did a great job. Id definitely recommend them for any repairs you may need.

Great service! My daughter attends college in Corpus Christi and we live in Missouri. Her car broke down and she towed it to AAMCO. They took great care of her with us being so far away. Great service. Made an appointment the day prior. Told them I needed front brakes serviced, they took a look, took me to the garage and let me take a look, got the parts and completed the job in a timely manner. Shawn and Jacob were both very helpful and kept me informed on the status of the repair. Some of the parts may had to be sent over from a warehouse nearby but that only took about 15 minutes, hardly an inconvenience. The technician who worked on my car was polite, knowledgeable, worked quickly, and pointed out further parts that may need servicing in the near future.

These guys are awesome. My sons f150 truck decided to blow its transmission on a trip to the coast from Austin a short while ago, and he was stranded on a Saturday AM 200 miles from home with no truck and 5 people, and after a few places tried to rip him off or not help at all my son found Sean at this AAMCO and they towed my sons truck there and went to work. They were honest, fair and being that I was going to have to pay for it out of my savings to bail my son out, they even worked out a better deal for me than the first estimate on the full rebuild, and warrantied the thing too. They worked with us to schedule a pickup almost 10 days after the job was done as I was driving down from Austin and never blinked when I asked for the time to arrange it. It was a great experience and they were honest, the work was good and I would go to these guys again for ANYTHING if I lived closer.

This is the worst place you can ever take youre vehicle to get any type of work done. We were very specific about any other work done to our vehicle and they went ahead and did it anyways without our consent. We were charged so much money. Not to mention what they charged our warranty that wasnt even replaced. If it wasnt for my husband checking that they did replace what they claimed on our warranty we would have never known they didnt even replace the parts. When my husband confronted and showed the manager before taking our car from the shop of course he showed he was surprised. All they do is scam people.

On one of our visits to Corpus our corvettes transmission went out and it was on a Sunday of all days so shops were closed! First thing Monday morning we called AAMCO and stopped by and saw Shawn he was very helpful and informative he made us feel that everything was going to be ok took our car in first thing pointed us to a good restaurant to go have breakfast while they looked at our car, we are from San Antonio so he even went as far as calling to get us a rental car to get back. Shawn assured us our car would be ready by Friday and he was right! He told us not to worry about our car that it would always be on the front line where he could see it and that was exactly where we found it when we went to pick it up. We recommend if you have any questions about your car take to them they did a GREAT job for us.

Being a single parent and not knowing a lot about cars. They spoke to me like a person not a number. They showed me additional things that needed to be repaired and explained reasons for repairs completed. They did not belittle my lack of mechanical knowledge. Completed my repair quickly. A great place to get things fixed. The manager is busy but spot on with your issue. Pricy but work these days isnt cheep. Parking lot could be updated, and the mechanics need to clean before getting into a car. There were grease spots on my door when I got my car back.

Made a 1⁰clock appointment. 2hours later my car finally got called in. Over the phone i told them exactly what make year and model I have. They used the slogan yeah we can fix that. Turned out they didnt have the proper oil for my vehicle. They guy at the desk quoted me less than 70 bucks for my service. Turned out he gave me the wrong quote. I will not bring any of my cars here and I will not recommend anyone to come here

Absolute garbage work. When in because transmission would not go into forward or reverse. Manager forged my credit card for payment, and nothing was fixed on car. Manager lies on documents saying I refused to get transmission fixed, always lies so now its time for court. Hes not to smart app records all phone calls. Cell phone recordings are valid in court. Over 1100 and didnt fix anything except oil pressure sensor, document from cadillac not even close to 1100 for oil pressure sensor.

I am a ASE certified technician with 35 years experience. I recently blew up my 4x4 transmission so I pulled it out and took it to Ammco for a rebuild. A week later it was ready for pick up. I picked up the transmission and reinstalled it in the 4x4 the cost was 3800.00. After installing the transmission the 4x4 was stuck in drive. Park drove forward, reverse drove forward, neutral drove forward and drive drove forward. I called Aamco and they sugested to me to drive it to their shop. I refused and had it towed so that I didnt hurt the already messed up rebuild so they could blame it on me and void the warranty. I had to pay for that tow bill even tho they had messed up the rebuild.it cost me another 1000.00 because they had to pull the transmission back out and rebuild and reinstall again! They said that a clutch steel disk had a burr causing it to stay locked up in drive.a week and a half later they said it was ready. So i picked it up and everything was shifting smoothly. 4 days later i stoped at a convenience store and got back into the 4x4 and no reverse or drive. I called Aamco and had it towed back to their shop at my expense. After 4 days of them having the 4x4 they could not find a issue and put a additive in the transmission and sent me on my way. 2 days later the 4x4 does it again no reverse or drive.I am at a loss and my 4x4 has been down for a month now! I do not recommend this shop to have any transmission work completed. this transmission so far has cost me 5000.00 and still is not correct!i would of given 0 stars but it is not an option.

I waited for about an hour and a half. But the mechanic that service my vehicle did me very well. When he pulled my oil dipstick out it broke. He notified me immediately and then found a replacement handle and repaired my dipstick at no extra charge.

By far, the BEST experience, with a auto shop Ever!!! Sean the manager has gone above and beyond!! He is caring of your needs, and always takes the time walk you through the issues. I would recommend AAMCO on leopard to everyone!! Just ask for Sean!!

My car warranty states to go to AAMCO for repairs. My warranty company refused to pay for repairs to my car. I explained the situation I was having to Jacob about two of my sons and a confrontation with a tow truck company. The tow truck company was very rude to me and my request. Jacob talked to me with much respect, therefore I have him respect as well, as it was not his fault about my warranty. I am very impressed with the outcome and agreement Jacob offered. I will definitely keep AAMCO in my phone contacts. Another plus was a few days later, Jacob followed up with a phone call to make sure we were happy with the repairs.

Needed warranty work done on my Mazda. Had to have transmission rebuilt, dropped it off on a Saturday, picked it up the next Thursday only took four days to rebuild transmission, excellent customer service, frequent appreciated updates from mechanics, and gave me a list of other things I might want fixed. This place is highly recommended by my husband and I!!

Needed to replace my right blinker to my car. AAMCO was very friendly and replaced it within 15minutes of arriving. Thank you for great service.

If there was a way to put a negative star, that would be my rating. In January I dropped my truck off because I was in town for work and it was having issues. I advise them that i only had a few weeks and that if it was going to be a costly repair, then I would rather them replace the motor. I was assured that it would only be around $2000. And it would be a easy fix. I was also guaranteed that it would be done in time. A week after I dropped it off I got a call with a quote of $2789, I requested them to just replace the motor. Again, they assured me there was no need. Needs to say, the turnaround I was working at came to and end and I had to rent a car to get home. Because I was told there was issues and it would take a couple of days. Aamco said they would reimburse me for the rental. Well a week went buy and I had to return the car. I had to drive all the way back to corpus from Beaumont (5hrs) to drop the car off then fly from corpus to Houston so my wife can pick me up. I called numerous times and got the run around. Finally at the first of may I got an answer, they need to put a motor in my truck.... I paid $1000 down on the repairs, $598 for a rental car, and $286 for a plane ticket. So I’m $1884 in the hole, then I was told I was told I need to pay the remaining $905 before they can replace my motor. That’s right, pay for the work that did not fix it. Also I was quoted $6800 to put a used engine in my truck. I finally just told them not to touch it, I would be having someone come buy and pick it up and take it to a shop that actually knows what they are doing. So, having the truck transported cost me another $365. Not only did it go to a much better mechanic. The shop only charged me $3156 to replace the engine, parts and labor. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.Update 8/26/18This past weekend I tore down the Motor that was in my truck while it was at Aamco... the motor with the heads that Aamco rebuilt and wanted to charge me $2800 for head work, valves, head studs, and all other new internals... well after disassembling it I found that nothing was done but the head work. It still had the used valves, studs and everything else. So tomorrow morning I will be contacting The Better Business Burrow and my attorney.

I would like to say that I am very grateful for the service that I received at AAMCO Transmission in Corpus Christi, TX. They did everything they could to give me the quality service that they promised, and I am very happy that I chose to have my transmission as well as my A/C worked on at AAMCO. They also replaced a broken motor mount for me. I had to leave town and fly up to the Chicago due to a family emergency, and while I was up there, they went above and beyond by doing me a favor and sending me something that I had left in my car. And, for that favor I am truly grateful to Shawn, Tim and all of the employees at this AAMCO location. And for that simple gesture, I will always be a loyal customer. Once again I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. God Bless all of you and once again I thank you.

My uncle works on transmissions and he recommended AAMCO for all of my car needs. They were able to get my car fixed in a timely manner and even gave me a discount for being a full time university student. I recommending this AAMCO and Shaun to anyone who has car troubles. They are very professional and are willing to do everything they can to ensure that your car is up and running at its best.

I Just wanna say FU!!! Left me stranded relaying on y’all to come and get our car never came I called y’all said you were on your way and yet again didn’t ever show. Wasted hours waiting on y’all and finally Javi from Mobil Mechanic and towing came and helped us.It was soo hot we had a baby and y’all never showed. Thank you for nothing

I had my transmission rebuilt earlier this year by the AAMCO on Leopard in Corpus Christi (which only came with a 2 month warrantee, btw) for $3,400.The manager was kind of rude, but whatever. A few weeks back it got water damage. I had it sent back. This time they wanted over $6,000. The car isnt worth that much so I financed another car. I explained that I simply dont have $6,000 anyway.Get this, then the guy called me back and said they can actually do it for $3,000. Interesting; once I couldnt afford it, the price dropped in half. Does that sound fishy to anyone? Seriously, how crooked!!Since it also has a rebuilt engine, I put it on Craigslist (and told them that was my plan). They wanted $800 for looking at it and I figured Id pay them from what I got for the car. They called me and told me that they were going to start charging me a storage fee. I explained that I had several people interested. The guy said he wanted it off from their lot. I offered to have to towed. He said that I couldnt take it until I paid the $800 AND theyre going to start charging me a storage fee. At this point, I am a repeat customer, yet they were setting me up to be financially victimized. I financed the $3,400 last time and paid it off in a matter of a few months so they know that Im good for the money (and I have a charge account with them that suddenly I cant use to pay them the $800?)So today a guy bought it. The manager said that I didnt have permission to sell it from their lot. I told him that I had TOLD him that thats exactly what I was going to do and I have their money. He was clearly disappointed that he wasnt going to get to screw me over. Avoid these crooks like the plague

So i have a 1997 dodge Dakota 2.5L 4 Cylinder... Got it off craigslist last year. surprised its still running. I started having clutch issues. So I brought it in. They looked at it. Told me basically what i thought was wrong as well. Gave me a ball park estimate because they couldnt know exactly until they dropped the transmission. Leave it over night. It was a little more than expected. Considering its a 20 year old truck and still running. To me its worth the little extra. So leave it there at the shop 2/6/2018. They had a few issues getting the right parts because its a 4 cylinder. not that common at all. I called Shawn every day for 4 days until it was ready. And he want annoyed or anything. Very understanding. Very Honest and straight forward. Helped me with financing cause I couldnt afford it up front due to my budget. Picked it up Saturday 2/10/2018. Go to work this morning 2/12/2018 and having issues. Call them back to let them know. and Daniel tells me i have to drop it off. I understand hiccups happen. But the quality of work is most important when dealing with vehicles. especially if that is your only means of transportation. So hoping they can have it ready for me tomorrow and all the kinks worked out of it. If it wasnt for Shawn I dont think I would have gone to AAMCO. So i will definitely recommend AAMCO to anyone due to Shawn being a stand up straight forward honest guy. 2/15/2018 Shawn called me today to let me know my truck was ready to be picked up. All it was, was a sensor. Truck runs fine now. Great work from AAMCO. i will be recommending them to anyone i know that needs any work done. And i can not stress enough with how patient they are. Im on a tight budget and my truck is my only means to get to work. So i was stress out. They understood. So worth going back to them knowing that they will do the best quality work they can.

When we got our transmission fixed we were told there may be a deductible. Then when our. Jeep finally was fixed ( they kept telling us that the bends was more important and moving down the daus they said it would be fixed) they left a message with my husband on his voice mail saying When are you going to pick up your car? Well, when my husband asked me to let them know when we will come get the Jeep, this rude guy named, Danial, answers the phone and acts like why the hell are you calling. He mentions no deductible and they know Im coming from out of town. 53 miles or more. I had some wonderful friends drop me.off because I knew nothing about a deductible. The next hour was a nighate because there was a deductible and I was never told anything about it when I called them twice before I came and got it. I certainly didnt call to hear Danials why the hell are you calling attitude. Then Sean lied and said he told my husband. He told my husband there might be a deductible but Danial failed to tell me when I called back. Luckily I was able to retrieve my friends and they bailed me out as I did not bring any means of a $100.00 deductible because again the were rude over the phone and did not let me know. Hands down the worse business ever. Specially to those coming from out of town. Unbelievable!!!!😞😞😞😞

I took in myvan to get the diagnostic Shawn said it will be 2-6 hours didnt get it done until 4 says later and no one would call me to give updates I had to call felt like I was a bother. Shawn gets things done but when its Daniel he takes forever. Now they fixed what needed to be fixed but now something else is wrong that was working fine before.

I would like to give a huge thank you to Daniel Rivas and all of the staff at AAMCO. Very fast and friendly service at an affordable price, made me feel me comfortable and confident in the service that they provide. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone who needs their car serviced. Once again thank yall very much and keep up the amazing job that AAMCO is known for.

They will fix the problem, not the symptoms. Made a mistake taking my Jeep to a dealership a couple times to fix a transmission issue. They replaced parts rather than asking why those parts were failing in the first place. AAMCO in Corpus Christi were thorough and found the root cause. If the dealer caught it then it would have been a relatively cheap fix. Unfortunately by the time I got it to AAMCO the damage was done and the transmission needed to be rebuilt. So go here first. Plus the people there are great (worked directly with Shawn and Daniel). Cant recommend them enough.

Lets face it, if youre looking at this review, your day is probably not going as well as youd like it to. Jacob and the rest of the guys treated me fairly and honestly. I would recommend this place to friends and family. As bad as your day may be going, put your vehicle in their care. Its the first step to better days ahead.

Totally Recommend! Got work done on my transmission. Daniel took care of everything my car needed for me & it made it super easy for me!

I went to this place about a month ago. Before I went they asked for a ton of information and required me to make an appointment. Upon arrival the attendant asked me for another ton of information and had me sign what appeared to be some form of waiver to protect them. Then he informed me that for some reason my appointment was not properly scheduled and the simple transmission service I wanted would take several hours having traveled there from 45 miles away and having other appointments to keep I would be unable to wait. His name was Abel and he apologized and said it was his fault. As I was leaving the manager Shawn came up to me and offered me a discount if I rescheduled for next week. He was courteous and I was pleasantly surprised so I agreed to do that. The next week came and as I was enroute for my service appointment, I received a phone call from Shawn the manager and he explained that there was a virus going around the garage and they were shorthanded and would be unable to perform the service I needed. So disappointed again, I rescheduled for the following week. Well lo and behold the next week I received a voicemail while I was enroute to my service appointment saying they were short handed and once again would be unable to service my vehicle. At this point I was really disappointed because it was now three weeks from my first visit, I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode where they obviously did not understand the value of their own appointment policy. That is that if you make an appointment the truly important part of that is not just scheduling the appointment but keeping the appointment and making it happen. I also felt as if this is probably common practice to anyone they offer a discount to in the hope they will just fade away and their promise wont have to be honored. I would not let these guys put air in my tires, I thought Aamco was a reputable national chain I could count on, obviously not, lesson learned. Beware of this place.

Where do I even begin? I recommended this shop to my Dad because his check engine light was on. Had to take the car in 3 times because the light came back on after drivibg it. On our 3rd trip back my Dad felt like he was getting tricked and getting charged for parts he did not need. We went into the shop mad asking for answers. we spoke with the Sean and I have never seen a business go out of their way to make a customer happy. There were no more doubts that we paid for services we did not need but most importantly, my dad left the shop feeling good. Not only did Aamco save us money but they stood with us till the end and ensured that the vehicle was fixed. My Dad has never liked dealing with repair shops but this is one he recommends.

I had a horrible experience with this place! Made an appointment to get a price quote on a brake job because they would just give me a ballpark over the phone. Even though I had an appointment they told me they wouldnt be able to put my car in a bay for two hours and it would take an hour and a half to look at the brakes. 3 and a half hours to just look at the brakes and give me a quote! I drove an hour to the shop and was very dissapointed especially since on the phone they said it would only take half an hour. I wont ever give these guys my business.

In October 2013, I purchased a 1997 Volvo S90, with full knowledge that a transmission rebuild or replacement would be necessary. I have been a longtime Volvo owner, but this particular vehicle would be my first Volvo with an automatic transmission.I considered simply obtaining a replacement transmission and have AAMCO do a transmission swap. Such a unit with a reasonable warranty would have been $4,000+. I was working within the water department, funds were no obstacle. I spoke with the shop manager, Shawn, about scheduling a swap. After listening to my proposal, Shawn suggested that I allow his technicians to rebuild the Volvo transmission and that he could extend me a warranty comparable to that which would be extended if I bought a replacement. This apprach would net an $1,800.00 saving. AAMCO rebuilt the transmission and the rebuilt itself has proven to be rock solid.In June 2015, Corpus Christi experienced a sudden downpour as I travelled to work at the water department. Not being familiar with Corpus high water areas, I exited 358 W at Holly Rd and found myself in water high enough to wet the vehicles air filter. I extracted the vehicle under its own power, after it stalled and completed the days work shift. Though there were no noticeable vehicle issues immediately after the high water incident, after completing my shift and starting the vehicle, a noticeable knock developed.AAMCO assessed the vehicle and found no issue with the top of the engine, and concluded the problem was within the bottom of the engine. Being on call with a dependable vehicle was an employment prerequisite, so I bought another vehicle. Then I went online and found a replacement engine, purchased it and requested that it be shipped directly to AAMCO. While in transit to Corpus, Houston experienced flash flooding and the engines transit came to a screeching halt as it languished within a warehiuse inaccessible to the freight company contracted to bring it to Corpus.Shortly, after ordering the replacement engine, my economic situation took a nose dive. The agency, I worked for lost the contract with the city. AAMCO was right there with me, both when I was flush with cash and when they willingly extended me an installment plan to enable me to meet my obligation. During my economic hardship they stored my vehicle for an extended period of time, absent any fee.The owners, and the shop manager, Shawn, have treated me as a valued customer rather than merely a revenue source. I highly recommend AAMCO to anyone and everyone, for your complete car care needs.tjeromeluke

This shop, particularly, the shop manager, Shawn, should get 10 stars!!!!!!!! i live and work on the road escorting oversize load semis and we are currently based in the Corpus Christi area (we live in IL). the transmission started going out on my car on our way back from delivering in Lamesa, TX. as it was late, and it had been long day, we decided to stay at the Red Roof Inn, on Buffalo St. in Corpus. unfortunately, my car had the drivers side window broken out and was robbed and vandalized at that location. Shawn got my car in immediately and made sure my car was locked safely in his facility every nite so nothing further could be stolen. after talking over the transmission problem with my husband, he recommended and installed an external cooler for the transmission as well as carefully removing the old transmission so as not to break anything else. he did discover that none of the updates that should have been done by a previous shop had been done. he was more than willing to let the glass folks come to his shop to replace the window. this man did everything in his power to make sure my transmission was repaired correctly and in a timely manner as well as offering a driver at my disposal due to the needed repairs and vandalism. Shawn doesnt have the Corpus Christi in my time attitude that i have found prevalent in Corpus. he and this AAMCO facility will the FIRST place i contact for any car repairs while we are in this area.

Took my truck in to get a quote to repair transmission. I recieved a call from Daniel telling me that it would cost me $765.00 to drop transmission to get a quote. He told me that it would go towards the repair of transmission if they did work so I said yes. He calls me 3 days later to tell me it would cost $7538.00 to replace or overhaul transmission. This is price gouging at its finest. I will never do business with this company. Just an fyi a transmission swap shouldnt cost more that $4000.00 and an overhaul on a transmission shouldnt cost more than $2500.00!

No other store could fix my car, but some how these mechanics got it done! By far the best experience I’ve had at a shop.

Its been about 8 months but I kept forgetting to leave this review. They were really nice and helpful and I wish I remembered the guys name who was at the front. I am from Dallas and I got stuck down in corpus and thankfully they fixed my car right up.

Being a single parent is hard enough and when my transmission gave out thats all i needed on top of my current worries. I didnt know where to start to get it fixed. I called several places in town and Aamco on leopard stood out from all the shops i called, so i called them back. They had my car towed. I had a thousand questions and they answered all questions and explained everything. From the start when i walked in they made me feel comfortable. Which was an enormous weight off my shoulders. I was having issues with my transmission (2011 Chevy Malibu). I went by the dealership (trusting in that big Chevy logo outside the dealership) and I was told I would need a new transmission. I went by Aamco to get a second opinion. The team over here at Aamco was able to solve the issue without replacing the transmission. They saved me at least $3000. If youre experiencing any transmission issues or just need some general repair work done, this is the place to go!

The manager had a stressful day when I arrived.However he kept the positive attitude with the customers.The workers were professional and did the job right and quick.I received all the services promised in a professional way.Definitely come back for other services!

I do not recommend. It says total car care....take out the care in that. Because they really dont. If you do decide on them get ready for the ride.

I called and they said they would diagnosis for free, took vehicle to them had it 3 days, called said it would be $190 to diagnosis I said OK. They called with a $3200 fix, I said no, they said it was my catalytic converter, I changed them myself for 200_ didnt fix problem. I will never go back there. I would not recommend them to anyone

They didnt catch the problem the first time almost burnt up another transmission and charge me more money after you paid over 7000 for them to rebuild the transmission. Dont recommend them at all find someone else to do the work.

Dont do it. I took my truck in to get my rear end replaced which they charged $4300 to do. And have had to take it back twice because they didnt do it right. And the best part, it still isnt right. Needless to say they will not be seeing my truck again. Go elsewhere people.

Had the Transmission rebuilt and New A/C System installed on my 97 Saturn. All that needs to be said is the Shifting is Smooth and Air is Cold. As for follow ups, if something aint right, they make it right, and then some. Quality Service with a Fair Price is what you can expect from these guys...

I called to get an estimate for a transmission oil service. Jacob answered, was friendly, asked me preliminary info about my toyota. Told me he would be calling me back in 5 minutes after he researched the type of vehicle i had. Well jacob never called me back, its been 3.5 hours and im moving on to another shop.

Had a loud clunk in the truck and brought it to Aamco. They started on the work as promised and went above and beyond to fix what sounded like a major problem quickly and fairly. It turn out to be a couple loose bolts on the driveshaft and I was on my way in short order.Thanks Aamco.

I bought a car that someone didnt pay for the service supposedly they rebuilt the transmission and it only had 30 miles it has broke down 2 days after I got it the car doesnt even shift out of first gear has a major oil leak the ac went out I would not trust these crooks they are crooks I would not recommend that anyone go here for any service at all

They were friendly and cordial, but what I appreciated most was the explanation of the diagnostic and the repairs I needed , it gave me the information I needed to make the right choice of repairs.

WARNING , lousy customer service especially over the phone, wont remember you in person, barely work with you. Theyll hold your vehicle for Ranson , if you dont pay, what else, oh! Left shop with vehicle small squealing all the way home, they didnt even have the courtesy to tell me power steering was Empty.....

Dont go here I have taken it like 4 times for them to fix my transmission and still cant get it fixed right. Instead of putting a new one they rebuilt it and wanna charge 4k. I cant even trust my car going to work it messes up in about 2wks.

The people there went over and beyond to help me they fixed my transmission and my truck gave then problem after problem but they stood by me and fixed everything I could throw at them I believe they care about there customers and stand by there work I would recommend this place to everyone very happy with them.

Did a good job with clutch replacement. But did not put undercarriage shield back on correctly. Lost it on the Hwy a week later.

Honest people, and he helped me out in a jam. It was my engine causing problems, not my transmission. They were honest about it and charged me nothing.

Customer service is bad jacob was not good with information about the vehicle and he was trying to scam us on diagnostic tests saying he did tell our insurance the diagnosis but insurance told us he didnt not give them diagnosis i do not recommend this auto shop to anyone and the ones that wrote good reviews are probably there relatives
