Barkers Cooling, Heating & Plumbing

I was looking at Barkers website and it said they had a number of the 2024 model HVAC units and you could save 30% on one before the new more expensive models containing the new mandated refrigerant goes into affect on 3/1. I called and made an appointment to get an estimate for a new HVAC system and mentioned there website deal which quote a 3.5 ton unit for $7687.00. Miguel came out on Thursday 3/20 and quote a new system with the new mandated refrigerant at $14,867.00. When I asked about the 2024 models quoted on their website, Miguel said he was not familiar with that and had to get with his GM. After he left, I text the pictures of their website to him. He called me Friday and said he would get with his GM. He called later that day and said his GM was gone for the day and would get with him on Monday. It is now Wednesday and I have not heard from them .Unfortunately this seems to be a bait and switch. When Mr. Barker owned the company, they didnt operate this way. Very disappointed.

Chandler was very good about diagnosing our problem and explaining the fix. He was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately we need a new system. He helped us determine the right system for our home and explained everything very well. He stayed until he got the process worked out and got an install date. We couldn’t ask for more. We were not looking to get a new system but this is what happens when the builder puts in a contractor grade system and it doesn’t even last 5 years. Our new system will have a 10 year warranty and give us peace of mind. Thanks Chandler and Barkers.UPDATE Our install seemed to go pretty well. The guys were here on time and worked hard. Picked up the yard and didn’t leave a mess. We have had some issues with the unit but I will say as promised, they have been a phone call away and have been out as many times as it takes. They are as good as their word.

My heater quit working when it was 28 and going down quickly. Joshua came over the day I phoned. He had my heater working again in 30 minutes. Then he explained how I could save money on my bill!! Extremely satisfied and very impressed. I will definitely use him again.

Mike was wonderful!!! I called on a Sunday and was only expecting to schedule a call back for Monday morning. I was surprised when Mike called me back and was able to come to my house 25 minutes later. He was very friendly and helpful and was able to fix the issue with my AC unit in a very timely manner. I highly suggest people get the annual Service membership because I saved a bunch of money on both the call and diagnostics but also on some of the replacement hardware. The technician was awesome. Very diligent and careful in everything... he was able to update the information on my panel; so Im a happy camper. He took the time to show me how things work on the panel as I’m old and technically challenged. Overall 100% satisfaction.

A few days after my new unit install, it had a little hiccup.Pete, the service manager was here within the of hour of my call and had everything figured out.Hes so kind and courteous and their employees make it easy to do business with them.Pete is also skilled in his work so it was easy to explain what the problem was and he immediately knew what to do.I dont normally write comments but this one was easy to do. From the office personnel to Pete, they were very helpful and understanding and followed through with what I was promised.

Today’s scheduled service appt. was handled very professionally. David took the time to communicate arrival expectations, goals to be completed during the service call, helpful hints for filter replacements and management of the smart unit. Miguel came to the townhome in this freezing weather, looked at the problem fixed it and waited to make sure all the troubleshooting that he did was the right diagnosis.After the unit started to put out the right heating temperature and only then, did he let me know he was done and everything was in working order! Our AC started blowing warm air on a Saturday, and Cody was at our house within an hour. He was really friendly, explained everything clearly, and was even great with our dog. He also managed to save us some money by finding that we still had a year left on our manufacturers warranty. There was no extra charge for coming out on a weekend. Well definitely have Cody back in the future!

Upon arrival he put out is hand with a smile to greet me. Asked if it were ok to come in. Seemed to be knowledgeable and enjoy his job. Good conversationalist and spoke lovingly about his family. His Mother should be proud of this young man. His employer should be happy to have such a good representative.

First and foremost, the technician was super knowledgeable and professional, and courteous. Kept my house and yard clean. Explained what was wrong and options to repair. He met or exceeded every commitment he made. When the part came in earlier than expected even got it installed the next morning! Barker’s isn’t the cheapest (quality seldom is, and they may be teetering on the edge of reasonable), but I’ve been impressed by them.

Barkers is the best. Super reliable, transparent, and clear communication. Our favorite tech is Justin, he’s very knowledgeable and helps me feel confident in the decisions we’re making.

Cody Burleson does good work. When it looked like I was facing a couple days without heat, he went the extra distance to find a replacement furnace blower motor and got my heat going again. Im quite pleased with Cody and Barkers. Money well spent.

July 2024 we used Barkers Heating and Cooling to install a new system in our house, after a couple issues with the installation, the issues were taken care of promptly and professionally once it was brought to the attention of Philip Burleson. So we appreciate all his help regarding solving our issues promptly. So we highly recommend using Barkers for your AC, even when theres a problem they come and fix it.

Davis came to our house last week for the bi-yearly check-up and figured out that our blower motor was shorted and not working properly. He got the part ordered and installed it today. He was amazing!

Dylan with was great he cleaned a d charged up my refrigerant lines for my AC. He have me some tips and how to keep it clean. He also was able to save me some money by signing up for their annual membership. Definitely will refer them to friends and family!

Update - 12/30/24Cody Burleson of Barkers Heating and Cooling came out to address a leak around the furnace vent pipe going through our roof. After assessing he could not safely inspect the vent jack cover exiting our roof, he applied additional caulking to the underside of the vent stack inside the attic. I will monitor this repair the next rain storm we get.Previous review -Michael Walters of Barker’s Heating and Cooling provided exceptional service in diagnosing and cleaning our dryer vent. He was extremely thorough in his review of our dryer vent duct, taking pictures of the inside of the vent pipe and ascending the roof to visually inspect the cap for signs of blockage. No significant blockage was noted. Michael re-sealed the vent cap and applied fresh tape to the vent pipe connections. We were so impressed with his work that we signed up for Barker’s annual maintenance plan, which offers great value at the way it is priced. Michael is a bright and polite young man and we will request his services again the next time we use Barker’s maintenance plan.

1st time to try using heater in new unit. 62 degrees inside the house. It didn’t work. Saturday at ~4:30 we called Barker. They sent a repair person in less than 30 minutes. Fixed the problem - loose wire. House warm within an hour of reporting problem.

Orlando was awesome! Showed up super fast and explained every step of the job he was doing. A lot of companies will hurry through their work and off to the next, but as a homeowner I really appreciated him taking the time to help me understand what I was dealing with and how to keep up the future maintenance once he left.

I was very pleased with the service provided by Barkers A/C tech Davis Levy on July 15th. If I ever need service again, I hope he is the tech that you send. This was the first time that I used Barkers after the many recommendations that I received from my neighbors who have used them. I cannot recommended them more highly. I have signed up for their monthly program.I had a follow up call today, July 31, and Jawan Lewis immediately diagnosed the issue and fixed my issue, and since it was a follow up call, said no charge! I was stunned. This is what I call remarkable service and why I recommend Barkers so highly. He was so very kind and professional. Truly made my day! I am sold on Barkers and will always recommend them.... truly a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ organization!Today (11/4) Justin Russell was the tech to arrive to fix my A/C unit at the appointed time. Told him what was going on and told him that I replaced the thermostat and couldnt get it to cool. He immediately got the manuel and programmed it correctly in a matter of minutes. Arrived at the designated time and was very cordial. Had to replace the capacitor on my unit, but before he did explained everything in detail. I trusted his judgement and had it replaced. We love Josh. He is our favorite technician. Hardworking, honest, just a wonderful person. We are thankful for all he does to properly maintain our units. Barkers is extremely lucky to have him as an employee.

Our air conditioning system went down on a late Friday night. The next morning at 8:00 I called Barkers to set up an appointment. The appointment was set for 10:00 and right on time Joe arrived. He quickly identify the problem and resolved it. Our air conditioning system was up and running 20 minutes later. Joe also let us know of a problem that he also saw upstairs, giving us a solution to that and a price for the solution. Wednesday Joe came back and resolved the remaining problem. I am very pleased the service we received. Everyone was very professional and kind. I would highly recommend Barkers to anyone looking for a solution to the air conditioning problems!!

Miguel with Barkers made a weekend service call to diagnose and repair one of our AC systems. He was diligent in troubleshooting the issue and was able to successfully diagnose and perform the repair. We have an annual service contract with Barkers and have had great services any time we’ve had to call. Keep up the good work, Barkers!

Chrishod Graham came to our house Monday morning to fix a problem with our A/C unit. He was wonderful; very nice, thorough and informative. He fixed our problem and explained what was wrong and what he did to fix the problem. I called Barkers at 8:30 Monday morning and he was out here before noon which is much appreciated. So glad we went with Barkers!!!

A new Trane 3-ton 16.2 Seer 2 HVAC system was installed in our home on October 23, 2024, and we have been highly impressed by everyone at Barkers Cooling & Heating who were involved in this process. In sales, Josh was very knowledgeable and willing to answer our many questions, as well as offering good suggestions that we didnt know about, such as adding the special allergy filter in the upstairs attic unit (not to mention that his estimate was the best of the five we received!). Pete, the installation manager, inspected our home first and patiently explained how they would proceed to deal with the distinct challenges in our historic home (no sheetrock here!). Caleb & his crew were skilled and hard-working installers, as well as very polite, which goes a long way with our elder generation! They also put down protective coverings on the rugs in our house and were careful to clean up everything and haul away all trash. They even cut back a large plant near the new outside A/C unit and hauled that away, too!It remains to be seen how well this Trane HVAC will perform, but my guess is that it will be a big improvement for our home and one thing is for sure - we KNOW WHO TO CALL now whenever we need help! Their online communications are also great so this all adds up to a well-deserved 5 Star Review and our recommendations to others to look first at Barker’s!

Just a scheduled AC system service check. Joe did a great job communicating with me. He listened to my concerns and addressed them effectively. I’ve been using Barker’s for about 3 years and they always come through efficiently and timely.

The service was fine; however, I moved away shortly after. I realized that I never paid my bill and reached out in April to get the information to pay. I never got a response and today received a call that they had sent it to a collection agency. I tried to pay the bill in April, but their office did not respond.

Brett did a great job and was very professional, he explained to me what issues I had and how I could go about getting them fixed.

I would give a higher rating if I could! Preston was punctual, friendly, and very professional. We needed some ductwork done, and he did it the same day and cleaned up after the job (which apparently some contractors don’t, as there were old ducts left in our attic from previous jobs done by other contractors). From setting up the appointment on the phone to the execution of the work, it was about 3 hours. The price for the work was fair (and nearly half the price I was quoted by another contractor for a simple job). I will absolutely call back if I ever need any AC work done in the future and will recommend to all my friends. Thank you, Preston!

I called Barkers they responded very quickly, after their initial inspection on our carrier 4 ton system they determined the compressor had failed this unit is a little over 8 years old (do not buy a Carrier unit).Initially they said it was not covered under warranty and they quoted $5200 this is only for the compressor not the complete outside unit which at first sound crazy expensive but Carrier cheap parts are expensive. Again do not buy Carrier.It took a week and 3 days to get the part the barker employee installed it and verified everything was working before leaving he told my brother that it was covered under warranty and only $89 service call fee, this was wrong found out when I called them to pay.They might be an honest company but I will not use or recommend them to anyone who asks.Again this might be a total misunderstanding on our part but I feel not.

The technician was great! He arrived slightly before schedule and was able to diagnose the problem within minutes. Unfortunately, I do kinda feel like an idiot now for not checking the MAIN POWER SOURCE but hey, live and learn right lol still the best $89 Ive spent in a long time and I have the peace of mind that comes with the knowledge that I just need a new breaker instead of dropping 10-15K on a new A/C system

Barkers AC technician, Michael,was beyond professional explaining everything to me so I could understand it. Above all else, he was honest and not trying to sell me something I did not need. This is hard to come by these days so I would definitely recommend Barkers and their team for you AC service needs.

Thomas is amazing, he explained in details the system and gave his expertise on why he felt the unit was malfunctioning. Thomas seemed very knowledgeable of his job, very nice young man. Two thumbs up! Matthew arrived on time (even a bit early) and spent over two hours diagnosing the problem with our system. It wasn’t his fault that the parts house was closed by the time he finished and he couldn’t get the new control board the system needed. I hope he’s the one that comes back to install it when it’s available.

Lawrence did a good job checking the unit in the attic, changed the filter, checked the outside unit and cleaned it by hosing it down. He also helped me set up my ecobee and explained how to set up the next one.

Update: I had a problem with my heating and David came to check. It was an easy fix, and David had the heat in quickly. I appreciate having the membership so there isn’t a service charge when I need someone to check.

Chandler was great, he was punctual, professional, and extremely helpful. He took care of the problem we were having and gave us excellent advice. We wouldn’t go anywhere, but Barkers services for our Heating and Cooling needs.

He was able to find the issue with my furnace during regular maintenance and part was ordered and installed the next day without any issue. During the service the technician explained all the steps and preventative maintenance that can be done monthly to ensure proper operation of the ac unit. I use Barkers as my regular maintenance, but I really appreciated Chandler and the other technician coming out after hours. My problem had resolved itself by the time they got here, but they took a look anyway and I really appreciated that knowing for sure, everything was fine.

Came out on a Sunday to diagnose our AC problems, which had been an off and on thing for at least a year. He pulled out all the stops to tell us what was really wrong and then gave us a quick fix until we could afford the actual repairs, which he had quotes for. Called in for service they were able to get me on the schedule for the same day. The technician Davis showed up explained what he was going to do. Then as he saw issues he just didn’t explain them he walked me up and showed me what he was talking about. Very informative, professional, and respectful. Got me a quote for what need to fix and again explained why he recommends it to be fixed. Highly recommended, and will use to do the repairs.

I am really happy that I contacted these people. Brayden came, did an assessment of the condition of my equipment, and then gave me options for how to proceed. We decided to replace the system. From the system they proposed I could already tell that they were doing the right thing. The previous system was too small, which I attribute to that contractor wanting to get the job, and though I questioned him, he assured me it would be fine. Well, that old system was nothing but trouble. Caleb came today first thing in the morning as promised. He and the other people in his team completed the job in a very professional manner. They protected my carpet upstairs with drop cloths, and cleaned things up as they went. At the end, he made sure to answer any questions that I might have. The system is cooling the house very quickly. I am really happy with their work, and I am glad to know that they will continue to help me with this unit as needed.Service performed October 22, 2024. Chandler came to our home within two hours of my call. He found out that a safety switch had been triggered that turned the system off for protection. He explained how this happened and showed me how to take care in the future. He was very thorough and very professional, just like the person who performed a similar service in the spring. I am very happy to have the Barkers team helping us with our system.

This company is amazing, I made one phone call and they came out the same day even though I live a good 45 minutes from their office. The two technicians that came out very knowledgeable and very competent. They had my air condition up and running within two hours, and they also let me know about the awesome Routine service promotions they have. I would definitely recommend them for anybody who is in need of air condition or heating solutions.

Chandler at Barker was awesome! The time from the call to showing up was about an hour and half as it was 80 degrees in my house. My son wouldn’t leave him alone and he was great about it, and even played with him! Checked everything and figured out that what the issue was and fixed it. 10/10 would recommend.

Had a house hvac inspection done a week ago. They listed items that seemed odd for a system that is barely 3 years old. Plumber Mark Worley did a great job on our tankless water heater when it flaked, and he also fixed the drain on our A/C. Very competent work in a very timely manner.

Dylan turned on my old fashioned wall heater with the expert help of his manager and stayed to ensure that all worked well. He is very nice and professional.

David arrived early. I explained the issue I was having. After some investigation, David came to the conclusion that the AC unit main drain in the attic had a dry pea trap from running the system in heat mode. This had the effect of blowing air down the drain pipe and into the guest sink where it was connected. A previous company had set this up (not Barkers) and it works. Just have to keep liquid in the pea trap from now on. Highly recommend Barker’s Heating and Cooling. Their technicians are awesome.Matt

I cannot sufficiently express how impressed I am with Boomer and Cody, the two amazing technicians that helped to troubleshoot my heating outage during the blizzard a few weeks ago. AC went out in the middle of the night. I was planning on leaving a voicemail, calling at 2:30 in the morning, but a dispatcher answered! She took our info, and promised a call from a technician the next morning. Lawrence, our technician, was a life saver!! Upon arriving, he had no trouble assessing the problem. Gave us a full run down on what was going on, ordered the parts, and even set us up with a temporary unit to survive the 90+ weather. What a week to have the AC go out. He made sure to take care of us in the meantime. Yes, we were extremely disappointed that a major part went out within 2 years of having a new unit/ furnace, but this particular visit was a great experience!

He also told me about my halo system and explained it to me to refresh my memory. The bulb is still on but need to check it this fall. May have to replace bulb. I would recommend this technician.
