Chase and his band of Dragonflies did a wonderful job replacing an AC unit and thermostat in my business! The price was great, and he stuck to his original bid and didnt charge a penny more. He had the most completive bid out of the three companies I contacted. They were here to start the replacement when they told me that they would be, and they cleaned up after themselves and you could not tell that they had even been here. I would recommend this company to anyone in the Austin/Cedar Park/Leander area!!

In general I prefer small businesses and talking to one knowledgeable person. Dragonfly Mechanical met my expectations.I bought a house last year and decided to replace the 2010 A/C and gas furnace. Chase helped me decide on new models. I had some areas in my house that did not heat and cool uniformly. I am happy that he found the problem and it was fixed when the new equipment was installed.

One week ago, I was frantically calling around north Austin to find someone to repair my homes air conditioner. The outside temps were in the high 90s & the inside temp had reached 92 (which was the maximum reading on my thermostat). Today, Im sitting at a comfortable 74 with a new smooth-running AC unit keeping me sane. I definitely recommend owner Chase at Dragonfly Mechanical. He is responsive, straighforward & cares about his customers. Plus, the price was less expensive than other quotes I received. No upsell here. There are many businesses out there to choose from but I suggest you save your time & call Chase at Dragonfly.

There’s a peace of mind knowing that you’re prepared for it, so we were grateful for the nudge from our fabulous A/C company, Dragonfly Mechanical, that it was time to schedule our maintenance visit.Today I’m singing the praises of Chase! He is extremely knowledgeable. During the maintenance visit, we commented about the large temperature disparity between two rooms caused by a faulty ductwork install by the builder subcontractor, which they “couldn’t” fix. My husband made a suggestion, Chase liked the idea and came up with a great plan, then came back today with the proper equipment to remedy the problem. We felt the difference of his fix within minutes.Not all AC companies are created equally. We’ve had some frustrating experiences with others, so we definitely know that good service can be hard to find. However, Dragonfly Mechanical has proven to us repeatedly that superb service can be achieved. Providing excellent communication, they can be relied upon to show up on time and get the job done quickly & efficiently at a very fair rate. We still highly recommend Dragonfly Mechanical!

Chase with Dragonfly Mechanical is amazing!! So knowledgable, efficient, gets you in quickly in an emergency, and has great recommendations for extending the life of your cooling system. I’ve used them for over ten years, on my last two homes, for preventative maintenance and repairs on my Carrier units. They have always come out within hours and fixed minor issues to have our A/C back up and running fast. I have struggled with a very hot or cold bedroom (depending on the season) in the bedroom above my garage. I had one company come out to look at it when I bought my home but they said nothing could be done to improve the condition. After 2 years of suffering, I dreaded another Texas summer in that bedroom. I contacted Dragonfly for a second opinion. They came out quickly to look at it, came up with a plan to redirect air by changing the duct placement, and returned the next day to complete the work. This heat wave is scary stuff.Our upstairs AC went dark at 9pm last night. After I finished panicking, I filled out the request service form on their website with intention of having to follow up with a phone call in the morning. I didnt have to call, though, as I was already receiving text messages by the time I woke up. Chase was able to come out the same day, he made it here before the estimated appointment time, and he had us back up and running within 20 minutes. Chase helped us out in the best way possible. We have two units and the previous company wanted to fix a leak by replacing one entire system including the furnaces for like 15-20k or so. They also wanted to charge 600 or so for testing the line and charged us 500 for freon. Chase came out, his charges for tests and freon were WAY lower, he was extremely professional and polite and took the time to diagnose and fix just the leak for us a fraction of what the other team changed and he did the repair while we were out of town on vacation.Highly recommend!

I first called Dragonfly to clean out my 30 year old AC compressor. I thought that Chase, the owner, did a great job, so I hired them shortly after to replace my AC compressor and air handling unit. Five months later, my new AC unit is still running smoothly. I noticed a small leak in the air supply duct and it was an easy process to schedule an appointment for them to come back and repair it. Everyone on the Dragonfly team that I interacted with including Chase, the administrative assistant, and the installers were very professional. I had another company promising me that they would be over to fix my problem and then they wanted me to pay them up front. I waited 2 weeks and couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone. We called this company today and had a technician out today and they said that they would be back tomorrow to fix the problem. I would highly recommend them.

We had a small problem with condensation coming out our secondary AC drain. I had called another company that had a groupon. They made 2 visits and eventually just couldnt figure out the problem and said we can give you a quote for a new unit.So a friend recommended Dragonfly. I requested service via the web request form. Had a callback within 15 minutes and a tech coming out within hours whereas the other company couldnt come out for days both times I called. The dragonfly tech was super knowledgeable, extremely helpful and fixed the extremely simple problem quickly. He was also honest and straight to the point about planning for some future replacement but didnt try to charge me or upsell me for anything and in fact was honest about a couple of things that he said were options but that in his opinion I didnt need to worry about just yet.I cant recommend this company highly enough. Knowledgeable, honest, straight forward and wont try to bilk you for every penny they can get but also will be honest about doing things right and not just doing a job halfway or putting a cheaper bandaid solution in place. In the end he saved me money with a maintenance deal that gave me 2 yearly visits for the same price as the one single visit would have cost on its own. Call these people with confidence.

Have used this company 3 times. Twice I feel that they gave me fair service when I called about problems. Responsive to setting up the appointment, I watched over the servicing, double-checked the parts pricing they gave and all was fine. However, I then signed up for their maintenance check on a second home. This is where they got me. They said there was no problem - there wasnt; and I was clear that the system was working fine and cooling well when they arrive. They found no leaks. But, still at the end of the call, they charged me for $375 worth of freon top-up. No reason given and I wasnt asked if I wanted it in advance. They guy mentioned topping up but said nothing about cost, so I assumed it was just part of the service call. I was not asked, nor told about this charge until billing. I then asked for a manager to call me. None did. Research shows that AC units should not need freon added unless there is a leak or serious problem. A few months later before the second regular maintenance I again asked management to contact me first. No-one did. Ill be reporting to the BBB now. Again, when there were problems, they were professional. However, without problems, they unnecessarily jacked up the bill.

Chase replaced the part for our AC almost within an hour of our call.

I noticed one evening that the downstairs part of our house was getting warm. I went outside and found the compressor was not running. But then, it kicked on again - without the fan that blows over the condenser coils running. Oops!Since the owner lives in our neighborhood, even though I had not met him, I found their website and requested service. It wasnt completely urgent as our upstairs system was running fine and there is another bedroom there.I received a call back from them the next morning and they said someone could come that day but it would be late. I said no problem as the upstairs unit with the fan running downstairs was keeping the house cool enough.Sure enough, I got a call from the technician (Ray?) about 4:00 PM saying he would be there in about 30 minutes. He arrived and I explained the situation. When he took off the housing, there was a multi-legged bug about four inches long across the starter capacitor terminals. With the bug out of there and the capacitor replaced the fan started without any problems.I hooked up a hose and he cleaned the coils on both units. We put off going to the air handler in the attic above the second floor since I planned for a full maintenance visit in the near future.Attached is a picture of the bug.

I cant say enough about how awesome Seth, the technician is. My landlord is on a yearly maintenance plan, and Seth is normally the one who comes out, even for non-routine service calls. He explains things in terms I can understand, and is fast and efficient.Susan is also great at working with me to set up an appointment time to fit my work schedule.I highly recommend Dragonfly for any HVAC needs!

I had them inspect the AC at my house for a home inspection, I would seriously think twice about going with this company because they put $$ before their integrity. My father used to be licensed and we checked the Freon the day before we had gauges on it for over an hour and let the unit cycle on and off and the gas never leaked. The next day dragonfly comes out and says my coil is leaking and that I also need a secondary drain switch. Both were a lie because I have a second drain pipe I do not require the switch. So they not only lied about the Freon, the coil and the switch but then told me they don’t like doing repairs.I’m glad I got a second opinion from another company He assured me my Freon was fine and that I didn’t need the part they tried to sell me. I called their office on Friday to try and get them to explain their report to me and still no word. I wouldn’t recommend this company at all.

Very unprofessional! Two trips within one month to clean the clogged drain lines. Replaced the AC capacitor even though its still working. The worst thing is that the tech connected the wiring for capacitor backwards and caused AC not to work at all. Called the tech again withing three days of last service to check out the problem and he refused to come out. I had to get another AC company to fix this wiring problem! Totally unacceptable and will never use this company again! Be ware!
