Ellis Air Conditioning and Heating

We had Ellis A/C upgrade our system in our machine shop. We struggled keeping the shop comfortable in the TX heat. Aaron and Mike came out to look at our facility and put a plan in place. They upgraded one of our existing units and added a new unit to the rear of the building. The results were night and day this summer. No issues with creating a comfortable work environment. I’d recommend Ellis A/C to anyone.

My A/C went out on a Friday and called Ellis immediately. They were able to get me a new unit installed Monday morning. That is insanely fast and much appreciated in this Texas heat. They also did an amazing job at the install and keeping the area clean, I would highly recommend!

Our A/C stopped working and after calling Ellis Air, they were able to send out a technician to evaluate the issue the next morning. They figured out what was going on right away and said we could have the issue resolved the following day. We thought about our options for too long and ended up scheduling the replacement of both our old outdoor unit and indoor unit due to the age of the equipment and them being outdated for what we would pay for and have a warranty with new equipment. I’ve had pretty good results with Ellis in the past. However last week they came by and told me I needed a new 9k unit. The unit was too old and beyond repair. I called another company and they fixed the issue for a few hundred dollars. Always, I mean ALWAYS get a second opinion. The only reason I didn’t give them a 1 star is I’ve had good results in the past. Good luck!

Tuesday, July 25, 2023 the Awaken Church in Midlothian was having a week long prayer session every night. All 4 of the a/c units are old and none of them were working very well at all and it was 102 degrees. William answered the call and was able to patch up 2 of the units to working condition enduring the heat and a battle with 3 wasp nests. He put in the extra effort and going above to get these 2 units working. The Church services were held in a lot better conditions thanks to William. Thank you very much, William and Ellis A/C. Most highly recommended.This reminded me of another example of this company going above the call and getting things done. About 20 years ago I was on the second day of a 4 day trip and out of state. Saturday afternoon the wife calls stating our air conditioning was not working. I told her to call Ellis since they had put the unit in several years ago. She called, and in a few hours later, on a Saturday afternoon the technician arrived to work on the problem. We had 2 small children and the wife was stating the house was starting to get warm. The technician worked and worked on the problem and got it to cooling the home. A part was needed that had to ordered and would not get it until Monday but he had it patched up enough to run and work until the part arrived. Monday arrived and he came with the part and got the system up and working. That is outstanding performance and most highly appreciated. Both of these guys really cared for their customers and went above the call to fix the problem. Most highly recommended.This is the third review, and it is for a good cause. One of our A/C units had switched to heat when it was supposed to be in cool. Called and Dickie was the service man and when he took off the cover panel one of the wire leads to the switching control unit had fell off due to corrosion. He replaced the connector with a new wire and when he got that fixed and working normal. He looked at the other wire, which had the same problem, and he replaced that one also just to help prevent it from falling off. That is going above the call and indicates a true caring and pride of his work. Well done.

Ellis Air replaced all three of our hvac units with new thermostats last year. Their installation and follow up has been excellent.

We have used the Cedar Hill location for Ellis AC and Heating for over 15 years and have been very pleased not only with the quality of the service provided, but also with the professionalism and courtesy of all their staff. Most recently one of our AC units stopped working in 100+ degree weather on a weekend. I left a message on Sunday and Julie called me back at 8AM Monday and they were able to have a tech (Denny) come out before noon. He diagnosed the problem (fan motor) and replaced it and we were back up and running very quickly. Denny has helped us several times in the past, but all of the Ellis techs we have been to our home are pros who know what they are doing and resolve problems. Highly recommended.-rwb

A/c drain was draining like crazy in April. Ellis came out and cleaned the drain and I bought the service plan. Last month, it started draining again. Ellis came out and took care of it again, and there was no charge since I have the service plan. I am very happy with Ellis A/C

They have done a home system install, building system install and many service calls throughout the years. The properties are historic and sometimes tricky to work in. They have always found creative ways to solve our “old building” problems and done so for an incredibly fair price. They are an amazing company, and the work they have done has always exceeded our expectations. They arrive when they say that they will and stay until the job is complete. We had Ellis come out and do a full HVAC replacement. They were very professional and I felt very comfortable having them in my home. I received a few different quotes around town and I was happiest with Ellis quote. We did have a hiccup where one of the technicians fell through our hallway ceiling during installation. Ellis went above and beyond to make it right. They sent out a contractor to install new sheetrock/ paint and texture, and then their guys came back to add more insulation.Im very impressed with their company and would 10,000% recommend them to anyone who asks.

Our initial interaction with Ellis AC was pleasant, convenient and affordable. However, we recently moved in to our newly purchased home and one of the furnaces would not light. (Mind you, we had a full HVAC inspection less than 30 days ago from Ellis). We contacted them to see if they would come out and take a quick look at it without charging for the service call. We were told that a furnace is like a car and although it was recently inspected they have no obligation to come take a quick look for us, unless we pay the full service charge. We took our business elsewhere and paid the service charge. The technician at Efficient Home Solutions assured us that if we have any troubles within 90 days they will come out free of charge and take a look at it. Customer service is important, and this last interaction with Ellis cost them our business.

Ellis AC went above and beyond in a desperate time of need. My AC went out and I called 10 different companies till a friend of mine told me about the great experience they had with them. My AC was not working and needed someone out there that day to fix...they came with in the hour and fixed a problem I had with one unit and replaced the other. The technicians were out there until 11:00pm to make sure everything was done which I couldn’t believe and then came out the next day to make sure everything was up and running properly to my satisfaction. I received multiple calls from them afterwards to make sure I was sure I was happy.I work in real estate and cannot begin to describe the exceptional customer service and constant follow up I received even after the work was done. Big thank you to Ellis A/C and Heating for their reponsiveness! Our heater went out around midnight last night and we have two young children at home. Called them first thing in the morning and spoke to a gentleman named Mike Drendall. He sent out a technician, Spencer, to meet me at around 10am. Spencer was very knowledgeable and identified the issue within 5 minutes. He spoke to Mike on the phone and I had a quote a few minutes later, very well priced, to which I agreed. Spencer left to pick up the part and was back and installed it and it couldnt have taken him longer than 25 minutes tear apart the unit and replace what looked like a new motor. I highly recomment the fine folks at Ellis A/C and Heating!

I was recently in need of a whole new HVAC system for my townhome and was really dreading the process of getting it done....So much so that my wife and I have been living without A/C on the first floor for two years. I don’t know much about HVAC other than you can’t live without it in Texas and my lack of knowledge combined with the prospect of high cost of replacement made me keep putting it off until last month.I decided to do it right. I identified 10 companies to bring to the house for quotes on a whole new system. I chose these companies based on BBB rating, personal referrals and other positive reviews in my research. My meeting with Jerry Bolding at Ellis was the most pleasant of all 10 of my touches with the companies I’d selected. He listened to my history, my current needs and my plans for the future and shot me straight with two very competitive quotes for both a lower and higher budget. He told me what he would do if he owned my property. He didn’t try to sell me the world, just exactly what I needed. After I collected all ten quotes, Jerry even helped me understand what I was being sold in the other quotes and why it was a good idea or not. I trusted Jerry every step of the way and felt he was being totally honest across the board. Ellis beat every other quote except one which included far inferior equipment. (Carrier vs. off brand)On the installation day, Critter and his team showed up on time and worked quickly and neatly to get everything done in one day. This included 2 condensers which had to be hoisted up on my roof with a crane, an above the tub unit and a new air handler/damper in a 4 story structure. Plus 3 new Nest thermostats, all installed, programmed, explained and swept up and hauled all the old stuff away in about 6 hours. These guys were top notch and very nice and informative about my questions along the way.I was extremely happy with Ellis at every phase of this job and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for new systems, in whole or in part.Thanks again guys!

Love these guys. I have been using them for years. All the techs are professional and they are always able to fix my A/C problems. It is definitely worth it to get on their maintenance plan. It will save you money if you need frequent fixes (one of my current units is 15 years old).

Was selling house out in Forney and inspector discovered temperature reading difference than what should have been expected. Technician from Ellis AC & Heating was out within 2 hours and fixed the issue within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend and plan on using again.

We paid 8 thousand to have our ac replaced. they did an ok job putting it in there were 7 guys here busy all day. They left and we were cool for about a week. Then our new system was not cooling and there was water running down our walls. apparently they didnt have the drain hooked to the outside drain. So water ran down out walls. We told them and they did not offer to look at them or do anything about it. My grandma who paid for it would not let us push it any further with fear that they might make our ac not work at all.

Ellis Air has saved the day with an air conditioning repair in August at my office, heat repair in December at home and installed a brand new system at our lake property. The technician Dusty has always been on time and is very knowledgeable.

Called yesterday July 12th 2017 at 3pm, AC was out, my outside unit was beyond repair. I knew what I wanted as a picky a customer, Goodman 3.5 ton, 14seer. Ellis Air Conditioning was here 2 hours later (started an install at 5pm) with everything I ordered and had already started installing before I walked outside. 9:30 pm we had AC. Robert Crispin was a very professional Tech and because he went above and beyond to cool my house, we will be lifetime customers.Almost forgot to mention, I worked a deal with Jerry over the phone, we agreed on a number, and it wasnt a penny more when it was all said and done.

It was time to replace my 22 year old HVAC system so I did my homework and researched brands and local companies. I called and set up appointments for 3 different companies to give me a quote. I contacted Jerry Bolding to schedule the installation. This was just the beginning of my experience. Roberto and Vincent showed up as scheduled. They were professional and personable. I asked if I could take a part off the old furnace and pictures of other parts as it was being dismantled. Roberto was more than accommodating. I would describe them as above and beyond. They cleaned up after themselves and left no trace that they had been here. Roberto taught me how to change the air filter, clean the drain line, and work my new thermostat. After spending a night without AC my wife and I were ready to move into a hotel. Living in Texas in the summer without AC makes life challenging. I called customer service first thing this morning and had a service technician show up shortly thereafter. Grateful to have or AC fixed and appreciate Ellis Air helping to keep us cool!

They came out to our home Saturday within an hour of my call to them. Service call was less than most. He did what it took to get us fixed up and cool again. He didnt try to sell us anything. Took his time explaining what the problem was and how much to fix it. We will use them in the future.
