Everyone dreads a broken AC unit when it’s a hot day. However, I just had my AC fixed by Chuck’s Air Conditioning Repair and it was as painless as it could possibly be, I’m elated that I found them on Google. Jarrod, the technician, was at my home in less than an hour and my AC was fixed so we could enjoy the remainder of the day. I can’t say enough positive things about Jarrod. He was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable and worked hard getting the repairs done. Even better was the reasonable cost. Mathew with Chuck’s AC is awesome. He’s a wealth of knowledge to say the least. I had two prior bids with other Austin companies, and let’s just say they were ridiculous. Mathew came in and walked over everything for me (including a lot of technical information, that no other company was willing to even talk about). Other companies that I had bids from, kept saying carbon dioxide CO2., instead of carbon monoxide with regards to the heating unit. Not to sound nerdy, but that’s a huge difference with regards to your families well-being. Mathew and his crew knocked it out of the park with their workmanship, and pricing. Sure, the larger companies have better name recognition, but that’s absolutely it. Chucks AC is one of a kind, and is an old school trusted version of how the world should operate. Thank you.

Called Chuck’s on a Saturday morning and they were happy to come out same-day to check out our system that wasn’t blowing cold. Prior to Chuck’s, we were told by a separate company that our unit was beyond repair and needed a $12k new system. Matthew came out and was nothing but kind, professional, and helpful. He spent 1.5 hours teaching my husband and I about our unit, ran tons of diagnostics and quickly found the issue that was causing our system not to work. He fixed it on the spot and confirmed we didn’t need a new system at all! A huge huge relief for my family. There are a lot of a/c companies out there but I’m certain none compare to Chuck’s. Jarrod arrived at the exact appointment time. He was friendly and courteous. Jarrod completed the heater tuneup in a skilled, prompt and professional manner. I highly recommend him.

Jarrod was awesome.He came an hour earlier than our scheduled time (which was great for me as I am home all day)He recommended adding freon to the ac unit instead of replacing the expensive evaporator coil right away. It has a very tiny leak about the size of a pin hole. He said it could possibly last a couple years before the coils need change.This tells me he’s an honest man and not out to bleed us dry with high expenses.When the evaporator coils need change, we will definitely invite Jarrod back.I am comfortable sitting in my home now along with my 6 dogs that he absolutely loved!Thank you Jarrod!

I manage a nursing home and our unit went out early in the morning on a Friday. Called Chucks and they made it a priority to come ASAP. They were very professional and replaced what was broken in a few hours. I will recommend their services to family and friends and they are now our A/C guys. Great service for a reasonable price. I could not be happier with an A/C company. We called out multiple companies to get an opinion on a replacement system. Most took a picture of the unit and went back to their car. Jarrod walked thought the whole house, and up into the cramped attic to look at everything and do proper heat load calculations. He took so much time to talk us through all the options and what would be worth it and what would be overkill. The installation went great and Matthew did a great job verifying all was good. I highly recommend Chucks because they will tell you if it is something small you can trust them if they say it is a bigger issue.

Just had Chucks A/C come out and do a full ductwork replacement among some other things. Matt came out first and was so friendly and helpful, made sure everything was running great, then gave us a great quote for the install. Such an awesome family team effort! His install crew came out a few days later at 7am and were done by 12:30pm. They were also very friendly and had great communication as far as progress of the project! Then cleaned any areas they were in and it was like they were never there! 10/10 recommend and will for sure be using them again! Thank you Chucks A/C

I called Chucks ac when my ac is not cooling. They sent a tech right away but failed to mention about the service charge. Tech (Matt) diagnosed the issue to a leak at the elbow of the compressor. He called the office to get a quote. The unit holds 6.5lbs of refrigerant and based on what I heard (and saw online), $70/lb is the cost. It will take 1.5hrs to fix but he doesnt have the time to fix then and will come back. Even at the going rate of $200/hr math does not add up to his quote of $1125. Matt then left to his next job with my job unfinished. See picture with some parts left outside and the fan not screwed in. When I checked with Chuck for paying half of the service charge his reply was I was trying to scam him. When I said it is their responsibility to tell me the cost upfront of service charge, his reply is it is my responsibility to ask (ask what I dont know?) and he will serve a lien on my house. I paid up the $89 service charge because in Texas consumers lose. BTW, I never paid service charge for residential service before. I dont mind paying but it should be clear upfront so we can make an informed decision.I got 2 others agree to come without service charge. After I got one of them show up and with a quote is $700, I cancelled the other appointment.

Eric and Matt arrived for a health check. Found more than a few issues and got them all cleared out. Even a stubbornly clog drain. Work was impeccable and professional. I have been using Chucks for over 5 years and will continue to do.Great service, good prices, worth the wait.

Excellent service! Called Chuck’s Air Conditioning after our AC went out at 2 a.m. They came out the same morning and returned with the parts and completed the repair on the same day. They are personable, honest, and dependable. After having a bad experience with ABC Home & Commercial Services it’s nice to know there’s still good honest hardworking people out there to depend on.

If I could give six stars I would. AC wasnt working, and got same day service, one upfront cost for diagnosis which ended up being the only cost with the wiring repair. Chucks son did the service and i couldnt be happier with the speed, quality of work, and pricing!

I had an issue with my central AC draining. I called Chucks Air Conditioning at 8:30 am and Jarrod P. was out by 11 am that same day to fix the issue. Matt and the crew at Chucks AC did a awesome job replacing my former HVAC that I purchased from his Father 14 years ago. American Standard manufacturers very reliable equipment and Im very happy with my replacement HVAC system. A special thanks to Jarrod for trying to get me thru this summer with a replacement motor on the compressor. It worked for a couple of days but the 14 year old equipment was at the end of its design life.

Called for season check for heater was scheduled 2 days later. Very thorough- I always use them and met a new employee. Great guy! Easy to talk to and great all around guy. Our blower gave up on us on a weekend. We were delighted to get a technician in less than 2 hours! Replacement of the motor had to wait only a day for the part.Chuck’s was recommended by a neighbor who like us was impressed by the promptness, professionalism and fair price. We had another contractor come out to repair our AC and ended up paying a large sum of money on parts and labor to repair and still not get the problem resolved. I called Chuck’s at 4:30pm and spoke to Tara on the phone and explained what had happen and she pretty much told me what the problem with my AC was over the phone. Mathew came out and confirmed that it was just clogged line and had my AC up and running by 6:45pm. Will use them moving forward. Thank you!

Carefully cleaned all around the furnace and blew out the crude from the drainpipe and from the outside fan and it was DIRTY. Friendly, kept to the task at hand nad did a thorough job. Chucks A/C serviced our HVAC systems and installed a condenser unit, a package unit, and new furnace in the 15 years that we were customers. Every experience with Chucks A/C was great. Chuck himself came to fix our problem. With it being 107 F everyones air is going out and his whole team is putting out fires left and right. He didnt want to make me wait so he made the trip himself!I did cost comparisons with 4 other companies over the phone. The others were all 4.8-5.0 rates with 200+ reviews, but they were more expensive out of the gate with the estimates. Another thing I loved is while other places will just say this is broken so pay this. Chuck told me why, how to prevent it from happening again, and what to do to save energy, money and also how to make my units last longer.Hes been doing it for 30 years (obvious from when you speak with him) knows more about the profession and manufacturers than anyone Ive ever met. Most of all when you meet him you know he is running and honest outfit. I HIGHLY recommend.

When my 22 year old, undersized, unmaintained HVAC system finally gave up the ghost on a Friday in 106 degree heat, Matt with Chucks AC was able to make it out on the same day to evaluate the problem. Replacing the system had been on my todo list for a while but Matt (and another very friendly employee, Mike) still helped me limp along through the weekend until his install team could get to me a couple days later. Matt helped guide me through the variety of options and scenarios so that I would finally have a properly sized, efficient unit. His installers arrived on time and quickly went to work, knocking out the whole project by early afternoon and cleaning up such that not a single speck of dust remained. Matt then stopped by to finalize the project and help me get my new, wifi-enabled thermostat set up.I found Chucks AC from the helpful, friendly posts Matt makes on Nextdoor containing maintenance reminders and tips. Theyre a family business; Chuck is Matts dad and Matts wife Tara runs the scheduling and mans the phones. As you can imagine with all the great reviews, these folks are very busy but Tara still helped me get on the schedule for a same-day call and every interaction I had with her throughout the project was great.I also took advantage of the financing they offer, which has surprisingly good terms in the current interest rate environment. If youre needing to replace your system but are a little short on cash, dont let that stop you. The application was easy, approval was instant and the monthly payment very manageable.

I was driving home from work at 7:30pm and called Chuck’s (among other companies) to inquire about an inspection of our AC unit that was turning on and off.After a quick phone call the problem was identified and chuck was able to come resolve it at 8:30 pm that night! He has never tried to upsell me on anything, and has given me several recommendations over the years to get even more and longevity out of my units. Best company ever! I have used Chucks Air Conditioning services three times now and I am very satisfied with their responsiveness, professionalism, and honesty. One day, I called them on a Friday at 4:45 pm because my 20 years old A/C was not working. Chuck took the call and explained that he could send someone the next day if we wanted since his crew was busy assisting other people. In the mean time, he attempted to troubleshoot my a/c problem and at the end, he took it upon himself to drive to my house and look into the issue. it ended up being a loose cable that he secured. He did not charged us because according to him, he did not fixed anything. He only told us that he like treating his clients as he would like to be treated. There are very few honest people out there and Chuck and his team are one of them. Matthew has also stop by and we received the same honest service expected from this company.

This is just a terrific company in every way! Excellent dedication to quality products and quality work. Superior way of dealing with me as a customer. Competitive pricing. But, mainly, and as all these reviews say over and over, just wonderful people to do business with. Matthew came out on today on time and checked our A/C system to make sure every thing was working properly and also checked the airflow in a few places that we were concerned about. We found that our doors on our bedrooms are fitting so tightly that when closed they were causing restricted air flow in those rooms. Chucks A/C is the best service providers we have found and have been using them now for 15 or so years and we have been home owners for the last 46 years. They are up front about what the cost of parts, labor, and any fees that you may be charged for before the work is done. They do not push you to buy anything, but they make recommendations as to what you might need and gives you options on good, better or best products and services.

This is the business that you want to call for your air conditioning issues. A family owned company with honesty and integrity. They were a pleasure to work with. After 10 years of recurring issues and calls to a few different companies they finally came in and identified the real problem. My p-trap was too small for the size of my unit. They saved me $1500 in recommended work from another company who said I needed it or it will continue to happen. None of that work would have solved my problems. I highly recommend Chucks. Cant say enough good about this owner/company. Had a problem with our unit this past weekend, called one of the big companies. Their technician quoted an outrageous amount $3500 to fix the problem, then suggested we consult their sales team for a quote to replace our entire system to the tune of $18,190 on their Advantage Plan with a payout of 9 years! Didnt even leave us any paperwork, except a paper with payments of $189 per month! When I contacted the salesperson, he said he emailed us the contract! So we cancelled the agreement!After seeing recommendations for Chucks A/C on Nextdoor I called and had a nice conversation with Chuck, explained what our unit was doing. He scheduled a repairman for after hours for today! Then 30 minutes later, I get a phone call and he was on the way over himself to take a look at our unit! Turns out the drain line was clogged! Dont need a new unit or even an expensive repair! Didnt even charge us! Thankfully there are still reputable businesses in Austin Texas!

Chucks AC was amazing! I called yesterday, the Monday after Christmas, and they were able to send someone out first thing today. The guy found the problem and came back a bit ago to replace the motor. AC works great again and it all took less than 24 hours. I definitely recommend this company.

Ive been using Chucks AC for several years. Matt is knowledgable, friendly, explains things well, and is a good sounding board regarding repair or replace. So far, hes been able to repair and maintain our 20-year old systems. Today is Memorial Day, and our upstairs system stopped working over the weekend. Chuck’s AC is excellent! Our air went out in the middle of the weekend and Matt came out to look at it on Monday. I was pleasantly surprised when I called to be speaking directly to Chuck! He gave me some great info about my system just giving him the model # over the phone and he assured me that he and his techs could get right on it.Our system is a 15yr old Carrier that needed a new blower motor which we understood can get expensive. Chuck’s quoted a price for the part that beat the other guys we called by hundreds of $ and our A/C was back in action on Tuesday. We work from home and we are very thankful for these gentlemen coming out and keeping us cool! In the future, when we need help with our HVAC or finally replace the whole unit, I’m calling Chuck’s!

Chucks AC was able to help us quickly when our AC wasnt working correctly, giving us the option of same day or next day service. We didnt even end up using the service because the tech was nice and honest enough to tell us to have the original company come fix their mistakes. We are having our foundation replaced and the company that moved our AC leaked all of our refrigerant out. Instead of forcing us to pay a ton of money they looked for a leak and checked our Freon levels and only charged us $85, which I thought was fair. The original company came out and fixed the problem for free, thanks to Chucks tech. Our unit is 25+ years old, so when it does breakdown we know exactly who to call. Plus, Chucks son was our tech. Super nice guy. 10/10 would recommend.

We were working on remodeling our Austin condo without power during the recent cold weather. We wore head lamps to paint and do everything that did not require power. A few days later the power came back on but our heater did not. That was a really cold Sunday. I tried contacting about 6 companies. They all said they were all booked and could not come until the following week. Then I called Chucks Air Conditioning. They were so friendly and could tell I was desperate to get heat to my unit. They mentioned they were very busy but would see what they could do and call me back. Shortly thereafter, they returned my call telling me someone could come to my condo within an hour. This family run business is awesome! I needed a pan replaced and a general check done. They were right on time, checked the unit and showed me where I was having problems. (My previous AC guys did a sloppy job and it was obvious.) Matt checked around to ensure he could get me the new parts I needed today (since Good Friday is a holiday and some places may be closed) he wasnt sure if he could get the work done today since it was more than originally anticipated but he did!!! His mom called to make sure I was well informed on the schedule, once his previous calls were complete he came here and resealed my unit changed my pan and serviced my compressor. I was quoted insane amounts from other companies (triple what I paid Chucks AC) and I am so thankful I spoke with them because they didnt inflate the price or try to scare me into buying more than I needed. Just had an amazing experience with Chucks! Our A/C had gone out at some point during the day so I called to get an appointment scheduled. Before even taking my information, Chuck walked me through some basic troubleshooting (which no HVAC repairman has ever done with me before) and when none of that worked, Chuck was very apologetic about not having a serviceman available immediately and estimated a forty five minute wait which was still WAY sooner than I was expecting.Not even twenty minutes later Mark and Eloi (sp?) showed up and were able to figure out within minutes that the thermostat needed new batteries, which I didnt even know was a thing. They then tightened up all the loose wires on the board and corrected some wiring in the outdoor unit from a previous companys work. Mark gave a very thorough and detailed explanation for everything they checked and everything they did. Even though I didnt understand any of it, its still more explanation than Ive got from other companies. Im super impressed with their work, professionalism, and knowledge.

I sent an email to Chucks A/C last night about a possible broken thermostat and received a response back a time later. I setup a call this morning for a possible replacement, but he was able to fix the thermostat. We put an ISO for an AC Tech in the neighborhood. Within minutes we had a reply and within 45 minutes a tech showed up. The tech was the owners son and incredibly nice. We had a good conversation as he worked quickly to get things rolling... We went from 74 degrees out of our vents to 51 degrees. I cannot recommend anyone else but them. Chuck is a lifesaver!Our AC stopped cooling on a Saturday when the temperature outside was 106. After calling several places who listed themselves as being open but not answering the phone, Chuck himself picked up and saved the day. After talking with me for a few minutes and walking me through a few tests to see what the actual problem was, he determined that is was just the thermostat that had gone bad, which I could run to the store and purchase immediately. He saved us a repair visit and did not even charge for the time he spent helping me. Later that evening, he called back to make sure we were doing all right. We were, thanks to him. Go with Chuck!

Ive used Chucks AC over many years -- for new HVAC installation, maintenance, and annual checkups. Service has always been excellent -- competent, prompt, and courteous. Recently, when AC failed, office manager first had me make sure circuit breaker had not been thrown. Then technician came within an hour and found that a part had short-circuited. Since it was still within its 10-year warranty, there was no charge.

I cant say enough good things about Chucks AC. First I LOVE to support small business because I myself have a small business!! I had been to 2 other bigger named AC repair places before calling Chuck. 1 of the places I had been dispatched to my house was through my home warranty company. DO NOT EVER BUY A HOME WARRANTY. The company they dispatched were horrible and they wouldnt get me a new company. It took over a month of back and forth, talking to warranty and other AC company to find several leaks in my AC. Long story short, I decided since I was getting no were with my warranty and the other AC company, I would find my own repair company and pay out of pocket. I had been without AC for over a month!! Not good going into an Austin summer. First I called the first company listed on Google search, they came out and the repair person tried to make me pay $1400 for a nitrogen leak test!! I was horrified and he left. Then I called Chucks AC and talked to Eunice who was so nice and honest. I trusted and respected her instantly. When she told me it was a family owned business I instantly wanted to work with them. We scheduled the repair. It was such a surprise and relief to know that the repair man was their SON!! love it. He was amazing!! I told him where the leak was suppose to be. He as well said he may have to do a nitrogen leak test which would be an addtional charge. I asked how much. He made a call then said $125. I was in shock and said YES!! LOL WOW!! such a difference. This is a long story but Ill try to keep it short. During this process of pulling up the wood box casing that housed my copper AC pipes we found a dead possum and then a LIVE possum!! Together we were able to get the possum out not harmed so the work could begin. LOL. He found several leaks in one area of the copper pipping. He replaced and repaired it. It only cost me $1800!! I was in shock and so relieved I hired the right company. I was so nervous this job was going to be $5-10k. Which I could not afford especially after my own small business had been suffering from the pandemic. I was just starting to see the light at then end of the tunnel. Then my AC broke. I hope the Possum found a new comfy home. I closed up the hole where he came in pretty good. I will now only hire Chucks for all my AC repairs and maintence!! I have two units and they are very old. I trust them completely!!

These folks are great. My system was throwing fault codes and stopped working one evening. Matt promptly came out the next morning and helped me troubleshoot everything. He got the system turned back on and somehow everything worked normally. He took the time to educate me on why it might be throwing codes, and how the system works overall. We werent able to recreate the issue, but he assured me that if it happens again, he would come out and further diagnose. If something with my system does go out, I know who Im calling to fix it. They are fantastic! My AC was having problem heating up and I called them. Instead of charging me, they run a diagnosis over the phone and told me its probably just a dirty filter and ask me to change it before needing them to show up. After changing the filter, the AC is back to normal. Saved money and time. This is truly a customer-orientated mentality business!
