Dels Heating & Air Conditioning

We received a maintenance indicator on our thermostat. I called Dels and spoke to an individual by the name of Jeff. He took my information and set up the appointment for the same day, in the early afternoon.The two technicians, Rico and Paco, arrived at the time scheduled. They were professional and courteous.They checked the heating unit and the thermostat. The thermostat needed to be replaced. They replaced the thermostat, checked the AC unit, to be certain the thermostat was properly connected to it as well. They pointed out to me, some other maintenance issues with our AC.I will be following up with them regarding those concerns.All work was done timely and for a very reasonable price. I would recommend Dels to anyone wanting quality service.

WARNING. These guys are the worst. They came for a regular checkup of my 2 air conditioning units. Then told me I needed to replace both units (> $16,000) because copper lines were leaking. Had a second opinion and they told me the units are in good shape! These same units worked for 12 more years, until I sold my home. This was a potential robbery at its finest.I am writing this review after 15 years because it irks me to this day. Just be warned.

This company is exceptional. I highly recommend contacting them, as they completed emergency service within an hour on one of the coldest days in Texas. Five stars!

Rico is knowledgeable, a thorough professional and very efficient. He troubleshooted our HVAC unit very quickly and explained the issue as well. At no point did he try to hard sell to us.Strongly recommended!

Its Thanksgiving and David came by to fix our heating and air unit. He had it fixed in less than 20 minutes and the price was way less than we expected. He was very nice. I highly recommend them!

Cold temps in the forecast, and our heater was only putting out lukewarm air. Rico and Paco were here within an hour and got our thermostat and heat unit up to snuff - great work, guys!

I called Dels at 2pm on a Friday afternoon because my heat pump compressor would not turn on. The unit has recently been recharged by another company around a month prior, but just quit. Dels was able to get a tech out by 5pm which was awesome on such short notice. Rico, the tech, was amazing. He was very polite and knowledgeable and took the time to explain exactly what he was doing and why and I appreciated this very much! Rico was very thorough with his troubleshooting and determined that the unit was overcharged, and as a result, the onboard controller was keeping the unit from engaging. He also determined that the capacitor was on its way out (supposed to be 35 MFD and tested at 26). He recovered some refrigerant to get the levels back in check and replaced the cap and we were back in business. I appreciate Dels getting someone out on short notice on a Friday and appreciate Ricos professionalism and being so thorough. My only complaint is the $350 charge for the $30 capacitor.

I called Del’s to check on my original unit because it was not cooling. The unit was 20+ years old and in need of replacement. Del’s replaced my AC and heater units. I’m so impressed with the kindness and expertise of each employee I’ve worked with at Del’s. Last night my AC started making this awful sound and the motor was working hard to try to spin the fan. I emailed a video to Del’s AC email and they responded first thing this morning anticipating I would need a new motor. They were able to squeeze me into their day, brought the correct part and I’m back in service before the temps return to the 90s again. I don’t like to ever need AC repairs, but Del makes the process efficient and honest. Highly recommended.

Our AC had different issues twice in the span of one month. For both times, Dels was responsive and professional, even offering to come sooner than the scheduled repair date if they finished another job early. Our technician took time to explain and show me the issues/solutions as he worked. They took care of us in this crazy Texas heat and earned some loyal customers!

Called about AC being down early am on Tuesday. Responded before noon as Promised. Alan went straight to the problem and repaired within 20 minutes. He then take pictures and information about my unit for future replacement. Alan did a great job and price was reasonable. Will use them again.

Rico accurately diagnosed the issue within minutes, and the tow of them implemented a creative, temporary fix to keep us cool while we wait for the replacement part.I look forward to their follow up visit next week, when they will install the broken part and get us back to normal.I highly recommend this team!

Fast service and reasonable rates!My AC died overnight, called them first thing in the morning and they sent someone out by afternoon and everything was fixed by 3pm.Their rate was reasonable and they never pushed me to replace my very old unit. I have been using Del’s for well over 10 years. They kept my old system running for a long time for reasonable rates. They also installed my new system and I just recently had an issue with it which Rico and Francisco were able to quickly diagnose and explain to me. I’ve had Del’s out multiple times now. I tried using a different company recently and I wish I had called Del’s first. The Tech from Del’s was able to get to the cause of our issue quickly and resolve it in less than an hour, when I had tried twice with another company to address the same issue over a couple weeks. Money well spent, they were thorough and efficient and knowledgeable.

I thought I had a problem with my A/C because it wasnt cooling. I called Dels because they installed my system. The technicians were at my house within 30 minutes. Turns out the system was fine, I just didnt know how to properly set my electronic thermostat (yes, I am a Boomer). The technicians explained what was going on, explained to me how to operate the thermostat and were extremely professional and helpful. I highly recommend Dels.

We had an AC that wasnt cooling, and even though its FALL in Texas, its still 90+ degrees. Dels team was able to send someone out on a Sunday after a call the day before, which is pretty fast service. The technician Rico texted that he could show up early and was available 30.minutes before our appointment. He was courteous and very knowledgeable, and tested a variety of things. He discovered the issue (a dead part) and had the replacement from his truck installed ASAP. He suggested an additional service that we will be booking and we will be calling Dels when its time to replace the whole system. A great experience and good value for the money.

Our AC went out on Saturday evening in the middle of the Austin summer, so I put in a request for a Sunday appointment. Del’s lined us up for a Sunday appointment, and our service technician Rico was here at the very beginning of the arrival window. Rico was friendly and professional, and he found and fixed our issue in no time flat. We will definitely use Del’s again for our HVAC needs!

We found out Sunday morning that our A/C had stopped working, and I checked a dozen businesses to see if any were able to come out. Only Del’s said they could work us into the schedule today. Rico arrived on time and quickly diagnosed our unit. Not finding any obvious issues, he saw that we were using too high of an air filter for our unit, which led to the coils freezing up. He did a thorough check of everything else and found no other issues. The A/C is working just fine now with the filter he recommended.

We had the AC start blowing hot air last night and by the morning the inside temperature was up to 82. We were are able to get scheduled for late afternoon and within 30min from when he showed up, Dmitri had the system blowing cold air again. Cant say enough good things about him--he was quick to assess and diagnose the issue, he was polite and professional, and he just seemed like a genuine person. Great experience, we will use in the future when its time to replace.

I’ve been using Del’s for years to maintain my home HVAC. The technicians that they have sent out have always been courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I ask a lot of questions, and they patiently answer. When I call the office, Freddie, and now, David, have always tried to accommodate my time constraints. They also answer all my questions. I think the people that work for Del, are “good people” who are really good at what they do.

Demetri has been over to our house twice. The first visit he installed UV lights in our air duct intake and updated our outdated AC system. He is professional, polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. He asks good questions to determine the best solution to remedy the cooling issues we’re having in our outdated home. We appreciate his expertise and thoughtfulness, helping us understand what the potential factors are in our circumstances. We get that there are several ways to troubleshoot heating and cooling issues, and it does take some trial and error so y’all (i.e. customers) gotta have some patience in figuring this out. Refreshingly honest, knowledgeable & affordable A/C professionals - highly recommend their services, couldnt ask for a better experience. Our A/C recently broke down over the weekend. I found Dels via Google & called them based on the 5.0 reviews. Adan came in with another technician & spend nearly an hour making sure the diagnosis was accurate & to isolate the problem from 3-4 possible causes. Adan recommended several short-term & long-term options, as well as workarounds to save some money - definitely had our best interests in mind - very honest & respectful. We had to replace the thermal expansion valve, and Del (the owner) came in to fix it. He had the wrong part, and went back to the store to bring the right one. (A note here - a lot of times A/C technicians do this to charge extra, but not Del! He said that he didnt check at the store & went back to replace the part at no extra charge.) Whats more, he even recharged some more freon (R410a) that was lost during the valve replacement at no extra cost. Overall we ended up spending around $620 for (diagnosis, 2lb freon recharge + thermal expansion valve replacement) - very very reasonable price & top-notch service. I will definitely call them again & hope their team of technicians & service level stay the same over time. Highly, highly recommended! Thank you Del & team.

When our ac stopped working on Friday at 3pm, I called Del and they arrived at our house promptly. After diagnosing our issue, which was that our entire unit needed to be replaced. Del replaced our unit the next day :-)The technicians were the most professional and proficient!!

I recently closed on a house and reached out to Dels Heating & Air Conditioning to see if they could take a look at my HVAC system. I didnt know exactly what service I needed to do so I explained this when making the appointment.On the day of, the technicians came and said I called in about an issue with my furnace. I did mention there was a pipe that was disconnected but the main point of the call was to inspect the HVAC system as a whole. I kept trying to steer the conversation back to looking over the whole HVAC system but the technicians that came out did not address my concerns at all.I was charged 15 minutes time ($55) to connect the exhaust pipe on my furnance. I was also charged a $96 diagnostic fee which I dont believe was even done. They spent the whole time in front of my furnance and didnt once look at the rest of the house or the AC system.All in all, I was charged $151 to have a disconnected exhaust pipe reconnected. There was no diagnostic done because I literally pointed it out.

The young man who repaired our system was professional in his trade and his personal presence was polite as well as professional. Great job. We will use Dels again for sure. Thank you.

My air conditioner had a leak that another company said they could fix for a few months, that did not work at all! I called Del’s Heating and Air Conditioning and Del himself came out and explained clearly that my Lennox system is known for leaks and can not be fixed and must be replaced! Of course they were correct. I felt very comfortable and happy with their service. I highly recommend Del and his crew!

The whole experience was seamless and easy. Everyone on the team I talked to was responsive and helpful. Demetri and team came out and installed a brand new A/C in under 4 hours. Air conditioner suddenly stopped working yesterday. I tried to troubleshoot and fix the problem but did not come up with a solution. Caved and called Dells based on the other reviews. I had a technician out to my house within a couple of hours. What made the experience though was the technician, Dimitri. He was polite, personable, great personality, and fixed my problem quickly. I hope the other employees at Dells are the same caliber, but Dimitri definitely impressed me. Id recommend Dells to anyone looking for fast service and a fair price.

I knew they had great service, but got three bids anyway on a total HVAC replacement (ducting and all). After all, the existing system was 17 years old. They were very competitive in their pricing and called me days in advance to confirm our appointment. They arrived at 7:00 am as promised and, boy, did they work their tails off. They said they would be done by the end of day and I was a little skeptical. However, they did what they said they would do and they were professional, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves. Probably the best experience Ive had with a contractor in the last 10 years. By the time they were done on the coldest day in Austin so far, I was warm and toasty by sundown. A great job! I called Dels Heating & Air Conditioning because of the reviews online . They had great reviews. The reviews were correct. I called for an appointment and they set it up right away and were at my house in about an hour. Bladimir, the technician right away figured out the problem and went out to get the part because he didn’t have it in his truck and returned and fixed the problem.The price I think was fair. I would use this company again and would recommend them.

I contacted Dels AC to come out and service my 30 year old electric furnace that I thought was starting to fall. Bladimir came out and after inspecting the unit said everything was fine. He didnt try to convince me to replace any unnecessary parts, and he patiently answered all my questions. He also installed a new thermostat on the first floor, and was professional and pleasant. The price was fair and the quality was good.

TL;DR : hire Del’s they are the best HVAC company in the entire state of Texas.I thought I could limp through another blistering summer, but my old HVAC had other thoughts. I shopped around and it seemed like there was no rhyme or reason of prices all the big names were quoting. That was until a friend recommended Del’s. Once I started talking to them, it became clear they were honest and open, there wasn’t a lot of up charging and if there were expenses they were explained. It seemed too good to be true, and it was. They are just a humble local spot that I could not recommend MORE!

Easy appointment, tech arrived in the middle of the quoted 2 hour window. Quick diagnostic and repair. Totally reasonable service charge but 200+% markup on parts. A $45 cap was $167, but it WAS on the truck when I needed it so I’m not bent out of shape about it.

We were very happy with Dels until we asked them to install some duct work. I was SHOCKED when I saw the bid. They wanted to charge me 5x the retail cost of the materials needed for the job. I cant imagine how they can justify charging $420 for a 14 in duct that costs $80, and $320 for a 7 in duct that cost $60 at Home Depot. Their bid to install 7 ducts was almost a third of what we paid them to replace the entire system! I would definitely consider a different AC company.

Demitri and Rico were great. Ultimate professionals. Friendly, took pride in their work, left things tidier and better-looking than when they got here. They were on-time! This, after 2 other companies rescheduled multiple times and ultimately never showed. Would recommend.

I’ve used Del’s for years and have always had really great experiences. Recently they replaced an aging mini split for me and not only was it quick and professional. They improved the look of the outside connections drastically. Can’t recommend them enough.

The Technician (Rico) actually was early. Rico diagnosis the issue (fan motor) & had the system blowing Cold Air within the hour. We have the maintenance contract with Del’s and they’re good about scheduling, the technician arrives when expected and he provides pictures to show what he’s looking at, which is comforting. I’ve used Del’s service since buying my house and am pleased with their service. Would recommend.

Pablo gave me some great tips for taking care of my ac unit in the future, price was significantly lower than I expected, and he replaced my broken thermostat with the new one I had purchased free of charge! The service tech arrived within 4 hours of my call, as promised. (I didnt even ask for a priority call.) He was courteous and considerate. He explained the problem and told me the cost of a replacement part. He also offered to clean the faulty sensor and to see if function would be restored. He made no promises as to how long the fix might last. Given the age of the furnace and the emaciated condition of my pocketbook (I had to have Dels replace the HV/AC at a duplex this June--another very satisfactory job), I chose the cleaning. I was billed for the service call and about 15 minutes labor.

I got 3 other bids, and Del’s was the best. Workers came when scheduled, and completed installation in half a day, with no additional charges or supposes. Everything is working fine. I would recommend Del’s to anyone as a good company to deal with.

I was referred to Dels Heating & Air Conditioning Service by a friend who told me he had used them for years. Now I know why. I called on a Tuesday morning; Dels team was able to send someone the same morning to assess the damage to my old A/C system. They also answered all of my questions patiently, while also providing answers that logically aligned with the research I was already doing on my own. Then they were able to obtain a new system that fit my home needs, and came first thing the next morning to install the new system. Del came out personally to oversee all work. Adan arrived promptly at the scheduled service time. Due to the fact my sprinklers had watered my lawn earlier, I was somewhat concerned about my freshly cleaned carpets, however; Adan was prepared and promptly slipped on his shoe coverings. Adan diligently serviced my ac systems and identified a couple relatively minor issues which I was aware of via a prior service call. We discussed in detail my options regarding addressing the issues. I was given a reasonable quote to get the issues corrected. Bottomline, I was happy with the service.

AC was having trouble keeping up and I made an appointment online for the next day in the evening.In the middle of the night it quit working completely so I sent a message saying if they had earlier availability it would be great. I have used Dels Heating and Cooling service 3 times now. Every time the technician has been incredibly polite, knowledgeable and very friendly. They not only tell me the problem, but show me/point out what indicates the problem and how it should be working. I called them as a second opinion 9 months ago the first time, but they have been my number 1 call since then whenever anything goes wrong!

For the second time (2 different units separated by a year)we have asked Dels for service and have been extremely satisfied each time. The latest was yesterday (Jul 5th) after the A/C quit on the previous day. Received an early call back the next morning and a response in person at 8:00 am. A/C Diagnostic Service: Technician, Dimitri, was methodical and thorough. It took a while to figure out the issue but he didn’t hurry, took his time and communicated well and demonstrated the issue to me once he diagnosed it. Now, waiting for Del’s to send the quote to fix the issue

They explained the possible causes of the issue both at the furnace and condenser. Talked us thru what was going wrong and worked towards the fix. We ended up deciding it was time to replace the unit because we didn’t feel pushed into a sale and understood the benefits of a new system compared to ongoing problems with the current system

My A/C went out on Saturday night I called first thing in the morning on Monday. I was able to get someone out here before 9:00am. The guys were nice and friendly and were able to fix the problem quick. Great service will be using again.

I called at 4pm on a Tuesday and a technician came the next morning. My HVAC was not coming on and the tech found a short in the thermostat fuse and then found the cause of the short, the contactor. I was worried it was going to be worse. The tech was professional and clearly knew what he was doing. I have used Dels HVAC since about 2007. They kept my 1996 Trane system running when more than one sevice co. told me that I needed a new motherboard (not). That system is 23 years old and still running. In my new house, Del installed 2 new American Standard units, helped me get rebates available thru PEC. I recommend Del and his team to anyone who needs a new system or maintenance on an existing system.
