Tried to get them to come fix a unit even paid in advance. They kept putting me off saying other people without a/c comes first then they said their people were calling out sick. I use them to service my house units I figured it wouldnt be a problem. Been without an a/c for 4 months. Now they dont want to work on it and are sending money back. Poor management poor service

The service tech was very nice and efficient. He had to add refrigerant to our AC unit. It is only 3 years old and apparently has a leak.The people I spoke with on the phone were also very nice.I am much happier with Mullinix than a previous company we have used and will be using them in the future. Had our A/C unit replaced by R.M. Mullinix last summer and they did a great job. Very professional, good with customer service, and they give you lots of options to work with within your budget range. Will continue to use RM for my future AC needs
Tech arrived about 20 minutes past the 2-hr window. Was friendly enough and did a fair job of explaining what he was going to do. After inspecting the system he said everything checked out fine except that the A/C drain line should be cleaned. Offering to “blow “ it out, charged me $118. I had the impression that this was part of the maintenance package I had purchased so was surprised by the added fee and moreover, felt that was pretty expensive for this very simple service. Overall, I think he did a thorough job and was professional in his demeanor.
Our fan went out on a Saturday afternoon during a 100 degree Texas August heat wave & Mullinix was able to get to us by 6:30pm. Walter has been busy with all the new students moving on & needing a/c repairs as well, but he came with a smile on his face & a great attitude.He was extremely helpful & we had our a/c cooling before he left at 9:00pm. I know he had had a long day, but he was more than willing to help out. I appreciate the great customer service we received!I will definitely recommend them for air conditioning/heating repairs. They have after hours service as well - because you know the air conditioning unit always quits working after hours & never during the normal work week. So I appreciate the availability for after hours service.Thank you Mullinix!
Today was my first experience as a customer of R. M. Mullinix when Shelby performed a semi-annual check up on our two AC systems. I was very pleased and satisfied with his professional and knowledgeable approach to his work. He knew my systems and was very good about taking the time to explain what he would be doing and answering my questions. He was on time, friendly and went about his work and then explained what he had done. There were no surprises.If they continue to perform like they did today we will be a satisfied customer for a very long time.
Shelby was my technician...He was very quick on arriving on time( I called at 8AM he was here at 830Am same day) and had my AC up and running cool again in no time. Shelby also had great customer service. He explained everything to me and helped me to make the right choices for my Ac Unit at this time...Im well pleased with everything this far...🙂
When they installed our unit last year, all was great. Unit is still great. We never got notice of 6-month maintenance, though. I called and set it up for 9:30 this morning. No word from anyone by 11:30. I then called and they checked on technician and said he was running late and would soon come. He finally showed after noon.No problems with unit or actual service, when it finally got done. But totally discourteous to not inform us of the delay. A call would have gone a long way toward customer service.!!!! Too bad it was not considered.
Of course your AC only goes out on a Saturday evening! I first tried to call the original installer but they dont have weekend/late business hours (or at least dont answer the phone). After a quick Google search R.M. Mullinix was the first hit and I am glad they were.My call was promptly answered (6:48PM!), a few questions were asked about the issue, and the dispatcher let me know he would call right back. Within 5 minutes I got a call back saying the tech would be at my house within an hour and half to fix the problem.The technician arrived by 7:30 and I cant say enough good things about him. Very professional, immediate diagnosis and repair. He also tested the refrigerant levels, confirmed I wanted them topped off, and baby-sat my unit to confirm it was cooling the house properly. By 9PM my house was already cooling off and he was on his way.Fantastic service and well priced. Ill be sure to call R.M. Mullinix again should any HVAC issue arise.
Never left an online review, but was promised $25 if I did. A) Advice to owner if repeat business is desired. Some type of follow-up is needed after service is performed. Existing procedures do not work. B) Billing the client is odd. $95 for a service fee and then $100 more. Total time spent at my house less than one hour, and no tools or equipment was needed.Honestly, it is not my show, and everyone runs their own business how they see fit, but if you spend X dollars a year on advertising, part of the campaign should include retaining a client.Lets see if I get my $25 for posting a review!

Great service, I believe there parts priceing need to be checked. Make sure you get a price before repairs are done. I paid $291 for just a blower fan $20 capacitor. I have used them in the past and it was reasonable, dont know what happened. I will not use them anymore.
Last year I gave them 5 stars for a very professional installation and (what appeared on paper to be) an excellent All Parts and Labor warranty... until I had to use it when the evaporator coil developed a factory defect and had to be replaced. The WARRANTY repair cost me $2000 because Freon is not covered and we charge $150 per pound. Looking online, the 410a refrigerant can be purchased for $25 per pound. These guys will price gouge you with a smile...
Mullinix installed a complete 20 seer system in our house about 2 years ago. I am so glad we took their advice on the unit to purchase! In the ice storm/blizzard last week (Feb 2021), our new unit was energy efficient enough to be run the heat cycle with our portable generator while the power was out. We never lost heat because of the efficiency of our new American Standard unit. Shelby also came out to complete the maintenance on our unit after the ice storm to insure no damage was done to our unit during the week long freeze. And they got my inspection scheduled the next business day after I called to make the appointment. Aaron was my service technician tonight. He was kind, respectful, personable and professional!He represented the company very well. My air conditioner was not working and Aaron was able to have it back to good as new in less than an hour! While on vacation a family member discovered our A/C unit had gone out. We called Monte at RM Mullinix and the same day he had a tech come take a look, set up a window unit so our pets would not get overheated in the house and sent us options for a new unit. They made it amazingly easy and when we got home four days later the house was nice and cool. They made arrangements to come back out and teach us the new thermostat and answer any questions we might have. Outstanding group to work with, we would recommend them for sure!
I’ve been using Mullinex for years now, at my old house they replaced the entire HVAC system and did an awesome job. Today was no different, they had a guy out here within 2 hours of my call and he fixed the issue, had a new filter put in and answered all my questions. Highly recommend this business.

Needed to replace our HVAC and contacted a couple of companies for quotes. We met w/ Monte, who was fantastic. He actually came out several times to talk with us about options and our budget. Once we selected the unit/cost that worked for us, the new unit was installed within one day, and we were finally comfortable in our house during summer! The service techs were very nice and cleaned up when finished. Monte checked on us several times throughout the install and again the next morning. Cant say enough positive things about this company and their people!
We had a really great experience. They did the job we asked for and lined out all the charges clearly that they were going to be doing. They were friendly and helpful and did not push anything on us we couldn’t afford. Will be using them for all our needs in the future.
The technician was very friendly and knowledgeable. Zeroed in on the problem right away (bad capacitor). Had it replaced in ten minutes. While he was here I asked to check the coolant levels. He said it could use some coolant and quoted me a price of $130.00 per pound for coolant. I didnt like the sound of that price, but agreed to having a pound put in. All total, this would put my costs at around $420.00, but when presented with the bill he casually said that he was mistaken and that the price of coolant was $180.00 per pound! This brought my bill to $480.00 dollars after all was said and done. Not happy in the least. Giving them 2 stars was as kind as I could be.
Sonya was very helpful in setting up a time that worked for my schedule and was even able to find same day availability!THEN,After the initial assessment, it was determined I needed a special part. After no technician showed on my scheduled day and time I called and was told that the special ordered part had been given away. 3 more times I was told that I would be contacted with an update and EACH time there was no call, and I had to reach out. Then when the part and technician came there was supposed to be a call beforehand letting me know he is on the way and I never received one. Jose the technician did a fine job, it was the office both College Station and Houston location that failed to follow through on what they said 4 separate times. I will never use this service again, and I DO NOT recommend.

I called to schedule a check on my A/C unit on Monday AM . I had turned the unit off because I noticed it was dripping non-stop into the pan. The receptionist scheduled an appointment for same day & I was excited when the tech repairman BJ was able to come a few hours sooner. BJ was very polite, proessional & knowledgeable. 0 Stars. They told my elderly mother that her unit needed to be replaced and it was going to be $16,000! Thats when I stepped in and had a TRUST WORTHY person come look at her unit. The issue was that the capacitor had gone out. There was also a moved a wire on the inside unit so that if she did get a second opinion, it would be a challenge for the tech. Her A/C is up and working now no thanks to them!
Technician showed up on time. He was pleasant and helpful in his explanation of the services and what needed to be done to keep our system working well. (He even liked our Maine Coon cats.)We have been with the R. M. Mullinix company since 2012 when we purchased our home. Their service has always been prompt and responsive.R.M. The folks who “sold me” and installed the replacement system were very professional and accommodating, with job cleanup and followup. This summer will determine the system’s efficiency, and their semi-annual checkups. As of now, I am greatly satisfied with their service. RECOMMEND.
We had a water leak coming through our ceiling air vent, which needed immediate attention. I call RM Mullinix because of their excellent reputation in the BCS area. They came out within an hour and quickly repaired the problem. The service tech clearly explained the cause of the problem, and he was very easy to deal with.Great service. Thanks RM Mullinix.
We had our spring check up done today. We never had problems with Mullinex, always great service. Today was different. The Technician did his work on checking on everything. Once he was done he told me that everything was working great that the only thing he found was aa backe up pipe and he flushed it. He then told me that there was a fee for that but if I would renew the spring and fall service he could wave it. He never once told me about a fee for flushing pipes before he flushed them. So I told my husband about the whole situation. He started talking to the technician and told him that we had the pipes flushed before and never got charged anything. After that the technicians story changed. He told my husband that we are still covered under their service and there would be no fee. I feel like if my husband wouldnt have been there I would have been taken advantage of and ending up paying the fee.UpdateWe received a call from the Manager. He apologized for what happened. He was very polite and sorry for what happend. He assured me that if we would have paid the fee we wouldve gotten a refund because the flushing was included in the service. He told me the technician was one of his newer guys but made clear that that is no excuse for what happened and that this is not how they do business. I told him that we were surprised too because we never had a problem with them and always great service. He offered us free service for a year. We politely declined but accepted the apology.

Called early in Monday and they fit us in today. The only thing which was a bit of a delay,confirmed appt.For 1230 -1:00pm Arrived,2:00pm. He checked system and went in n out and then replaced filter, made a few adjustments and then out the door.Covid safety mask worn all the time in the house, Thank you it is for both our protection.!!!Good service, friendly tech. Would refer to folks if asked.
Paid $400 for the one year membership where they find reasons twice a year to sell you things you dont need. I was the fool who paid an additional $188 for something that wasnt broken. Three months later, I get home from work and my 3 year old unit is blowing hot air. I call them and they say someone will contact me. 30 minutes later...nothing (its 88 degrees in here & I have a 3 month old baby, time is of the essence). Finally, they call back and say they want to charge a discounted $89 fee just to show up (the One Hour company charges $59 for non members). $677 before youve actually fixed anything?! If this is how you treat your members, Ill take my chances with another company.
5th time theyll be out since May, and its currently 84° inside and 91° outside. They advertise open 24 hours, but they stop servicing at 9pm...no emergency repairs. If you call after 9om, you get a live person who takes a messag they wont receive until 8am. So, you have to wait in the 84° house until 8am..no, they are not open 24 hours.4th calling them...do you think they know what theyre doing?
It was easy getting an appointment and they were able to do the next day. Michael was our tech who was very thorough and explained everything he had done. Cost was very reasonable.

They did a good job at a fair price installing a mini split in the master b/r. Then followed with a service contract to take care of the system for the house. Courteous, professional and fairly priced.

I needed to replace my 20-year-old HVAC system and invited three bids. Pat took the time to explain how my existing system works, gave me three options to choose from, and explained the differences between each one. R.M. Mullinix had the best price and I was comfortable that I knew what I was getting. The next day, Mason and Anthony showed up just as I was leaving for work, and when I got home, the new system was blasting cold air. Thank you all - very happy! We had a heating problem after the power outages in February. Aaron was the technician and he did a superb job. He responded quickly, solved the problem, and provided us with good information about how to prevent future problems.
The technician, Walter, was very knowledgeable and thorough. He explained everything and patiently answered all of my questions. He was honest and very friendly. I will always call Mullinix and will hopefully get Walter again.

They say like it will be $20 for Trip Charge and if they worked on the problem than they will charge,they checked 5mins did not worked and gave me the price to fix my a/c,charge was $250.They rob people like crazy dont call them.Other Companies charge $20 Trip charge $90 to check on the unit.They say something when you call and charge something when they come to your location.
The staff and company go “above and beyond” when it comes to service beyond the sale. Recently, during a spell of 100 degrees plus, our young grandson mistook our very complicated, wall- mounted thermostat for an I-pad. Long story short, it was destroyed. A replacement could not be obtained for several days. The staff did not accept that outcome given our dilemma (heat, old people, auttistic children), and personally traveled to another city to obtain the replacement thermostat and had it installed (after hours) on the same day! That level of service is uncommon in these days and times. From the bottom of our heart, we say “Thank you R M Mullinex, from the top of the company down to the least technician!” You truly endorse service after the sale, and your products are exceptional as well. I called this company because of their reviews. After my experience, I suspect many of these reviews are fake. Be aware of their deceptive business practice. They over inflated the cost of parts and never disclosed the cost of their labor. When I googled the part, i found out that it cost a fraction of what they told me it cost. I dont plan to use them again and certainly wouldnt recommend them to anyone.
Service was prompt and on time. We had a Carbon Monoxide alert and r.m. mullinex sent someone out before the fire dept had determined the source. It was not the furnace but they took the time to do a complete check just in case.
I made the call and they were here in minutes ! Shelby was very nice and helpful he showed me the problem and had it fixed in minutes! They are amazing. They are my go to people now!!
I would like to share my experience here, so no more persons like me to get overcharged, frustrated, and disappointed. I was charged $309.95 for replacing a capacitor from this overcharging company. After I received the bill I was trying to contact the company to figure out what kind of brand of capacitor they used. No any response from RM Mullinix. My another house my parent are living inside had a similar problems, so I called another company to fix the problem. Another company did the same work replacing a capacitor, but they only charged me $150. What a big difference! Do you know why I chose RM Mullinix, because I saw good comments here. It is why I wrote my words here to prevent next family to get overcharged.
Sent someone out day of when the AC stopped working, awesome friendly tech.Only minus was a heavy upcharge on parts. Would have been better off letting them diagnose, then going to the nearest hardware store to replace it myself

Had an issue with my outside unit not working. Was afraid I would need a new motor, fortunately the tech was knowledgeable and saw quickly that it was a bad capacitor. Next time if it happens again, I will know what to look for and be able to change out a $15 dollar part.
R.M. Mullinix did a fantastic job of replacing our HVAC system. The comfort advisor actually did a heat analysis of our home! The istallers were professional. They did everything we expected and even more (came back the next day to make sure there were none leaks in the ductwork).

The first visit was to see what was wrong. The service was rich had to unplug one system to check what was occurring. Then he left. Still no A/C.The second visit was a salemen. He found the unplugged system. Then quoted me to r placed coils and values for both systems. One system is. 3.5 Tom and the second is a 2 ton system.The third visit they did the work. Cost was $5,200. Three days late one system is still not working. No one is answering the telephone or text messages. Customer service is horrible.I customer service is dead.
Finally a company that did everything they said and more! Couldn’t be happier with everything from the first visit, the conversations with Monte, all the way to the guys that installed. On time, clean, fast and very professional!

My AC just went out made the call to Mullinix and they are sending someone today to help me out. I recommend calling Mullinix first as other AC services could not even come to my house until next week.
